We were looking for local plate lunch options near the airport and ran across Pearl's Korean BBQ. As soon as we saw "meat chun" as a menu option we were in. SO happy we took the 10 minute out of the way detour to the Queen Ka'ahumanu mall on our way to Kaanapali. The servings are HUGE and the meat chun did not disappoint! Along with the main course you get two scoops of sticky rice and 4 side dish options including mac salad, jap chae and kim chi. So happy this restaurant is not near our hotel or I would gain 20 lbs before the week is over! The restaurant is in the food court of the mall and the service is typical of mall food court service but if you're craving a little Island Korean...this is a great place to go!

OMG I love this place! It sort of went downhill after Yummy's pulled out but they really have redeemed themselves. Ask anyone, it's the side dishes that make people keep come back for more. ATMOSPHERE: Located in the food court of Queen Kaahumanu Center. Open-air indoor & outdoor seating. FOOD: BBQ Chicken - Hit or miss. While the flavor is good, the chicken usually is just way too dry and over-cooked. Shoyu Chicken - Taste was there but the chicken (like their BBQ style) is over done. Chicken thighs were dry and on the firm side. Hamburger Steak/Loco Moco - Meat is very tough & rubbery. Gravy is good, but the onions are raw. Kalbi Ribs - Flavor is good but the meat is thin, mostly fat and over-cooked. Wow this dish is pricey too. BBQ Pork - The only dish I get nowadays. Cut paper thin like teriyaki meat, but very moist & tender. My fave! Chicken Katsu - Crispy and tender, not oily. Get it plain, with a dark brown gravy or curry smothered on top. SERVICE: Fast & friendly. Wait times can be a bit long for certain dishes like the hamburger steak. TIP: You can make a half combo out of any meats/chicken they serve, even though it's not listed on the menu. OVERALL: Prices have gone way up at this place, but the portions are huge & flavorful so it's worth it. They have awesome side selections, which is what keeps me coming back for more.

This place is really good. it's also in the mall food court so set your expectations accordingly. My hubby had the bi-bim-bap It was more delicious that the gal-bi which was yummy but a tiny tad on they fatty side. The kimchi was really good. Great prices esp for maui! Would definitely recommend!

Again, ready to kite and need a quick bite, so yelp directed me to this place, didn't realize it was in a mall, but thought, it had such good reviews might as well try it. The food here is pretty good, ordered the chicken, short ribs, and pork, each is served with 4 sides of your choosing. All the entrees were actually good, especially for this being "mall" food. Nothing was dry and they were all well flavored. Sides: all three types of kimchee were good, the macaroni salad was not good, WAY too much mayo, the baked sweet potatoes were my favorite, the noodles were pretty good, the corn was okay, had a couple of other sides too, they were also okay. Service was fair, I thought the prices were a bit on the high side, especially for this being a mall, but the portion size was huge, so I guess they were okay.

I've eaten here countless times. Located at the Kaahumanu Mall. Maybe since it's the only Korean place in the mall, yet only clean Korean place in all of Kahului. Food is yummy...though once I started to have to change my diet and monitor exactly what goes into my body...I had to ask..."What doesn't have MSG in it?"... Everything has it in it! Yup! There were only 2 selections in their sides that didn't ...I think it was the bean sprouts and the green lettuce salad. Even their hot food. MSG is plainly not good for your body..makes you fat and makes you sick. So sadly I can't eat here anymore. BUT if you're ok with MSG polluting your body, go here. It's tasty.

Found a gem! I was very sad when I moved to Maui from the mainland because of lack of Korean food. But, I found this place while shopping in the mall. This place was awesome. Good portion, reasonable price, and most importantly taste great! I had Yook Geh Jang (Spice Soup) and Bi Bim Bap. It was great. I will definitely go back!

Dont get me wrong love love the food. But there was one filipina chick giggling to her co-worker which she wasnt even paying attention. I wanted my sides to be on a separate plate. Like what's so funny about that? It's just a simple thing to do! WEIRDO!!!

Food is just ok. The bbq chicken and beef were very average tasting like premade with seasonings from a supermarket. meat jun was good and the portions are huge. The side dishes were subpar and didn't taste good, the kimchi was not fermented long enough, same goes for the cucumber, seaweed was ok and the tofu was not seasoned.

The service here was friendly on a recent business trip to Maui, and they gave more meat than the one I've been to on Oahu. Would come here again for a casual, quick bite to eat.

Sorry to my friends I'll keep nameless. Okay I'm an idiot, I do not know Korean food. However, I do love Pearl's. From the Meat Jun, The Kalbi, The BBQ chicken, and BBQ Beef plates. And the sides they offer is fresh. The cabbage, the kimchi, the mac salad, the moyashi, and everything else seems that they execute all the time. If you want real Korean you expert foodies, book a flight to Seoul. 4 Starts I'm a fan.

Good value and tasty food. Meat jun was excellent, didn't even need the sauce. Kal I was good but not a lot of meat :( ban chan was fresh, I really liked the radish. Would definitely eat here again!

Great place to eat. Don't always expect a smile f/ employees. Always slamming busy, but service is fast & good, place is clean. My favorites are the BBQ chicken & kalbi plate. My favorite sides are the Kim Chee, cucumber Kim Chee, and tofu. If you're hungry for korean plate lunches, this is the spot.

I was craving Kim chi tofu soup. Ordered that and I was expecting it to just be Kim chi with tofu but had beef. Description didn't state beef. It was lacking flavor (bland). My husband ordered the Kal Bi (#1) & it tastes tough and really meaty. Good part was the sides; variety of options.

OKAYOKAY. I thought I'd never write an updated review...BUT because my boy dragged me to this place several times, I was "forced" to eat here. Mahalo to him, my previous biznatchy review needs change--it needs an Obama. I do enjoy that it's quite convenient and the fact that it's "fast food" style so I don't need to wait 69hrs. Some of the girls that work there are pretty cool. They gave us "hawaiian sized" banchan portions. (my faves: kimchi, sprouts, cucumbers, and cabbage) Not too shabby either! We've pretty much stuck to the Kalbi ribs plate..it has to be their best meat. We ask for it "well done." Love the crunchy edges and it definitely was not dry. Nice flavors. The 2 scoops of rice they serve us isn't hard and dry. Another plus. Most of you know there isn't a lot of Korean restaurants here (and obviously won't take you to the poor house), and now I can see why Pearl's is a local favorite. Convenient, reasonable, and decent. I know I'll be back.

Awesome veggies, which is why I go to Korean BBQ's.............. BBQ chicken was awesome and so was their beef. Huge portions which you would expect for the prices (they are not cheap!) Maui is expensive, but really $10 for chicken and a few strips of beef and veggies???

this place is SUCH a bargain for Maui, and ono-licious, too! No frills korean food, and always perfectly cooked BBQ chicken.

Finally a great korean bbq place for the family that won't broke da bank! Kalbi is delicious and the lunch/dinner plates come with 4 sides, 2 scoops of rice, and 1 scoop mac salad. Each plate can feed at least 2 adults. Soup noodle is also quite tasty. This place is located in the food court up on the second floor of Queen Kaahumanu Shopping Center Mall. If you go on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday, the first floor of the mall has a farmers market of fresh fruit and goodies.

Whenever we want a hearty meal for a good price, we hit up Pearl's at the mall. We usually order the meat jun plate but this past trip, we ordered the meat jun/kalbi combo. Two huge pieces of meat jun and at least three kalbi ribs, plus the banchan of mayo potatoes, sesame cabbage, seaweed, and noodles. I decided to dip the meat jun into the hot sauce this time and I loved it. It wasn't too spicy and it had a nice flavor to it. The kalbi was fine but could've been a little more moist. The banchan was delicious as always. I read that some people complain that the prices are too high. I have to disagree as we got this combo for $12.99. We shared it for dinner, plus we had a little bit of leftovers that we finished up the next day. It's not as cheap as McDonald's or Panda Express, but you get much more for what you pay.

Meat jun and fish jun really hits the spot.. For a mall eatery 4 stars..

Found this place while killing some time st the mall. This is great food at a great price. The price is high for a food court, but portions are huge...4 sides and rice with every meal! I got a smaller meal for half the cost and was very full. Try the loco moco and get the daikon as a side. I'm sad that I have to leave Hawaii because I keep craving this place.

Great BBQ chicken and meat jun. A bit pricey, but better than mainland plate lunch. This place is located in a food court upstairs in shopping mall. Not too far from Kahalui airport.

Yes, this restaurant is in a food court of the mall. But this place has one of the best ever kal-bi I have ever eaten. The BBQ Beef on the other hand, tasted a little dry and tough. Came back twice during our one week trip in Maui to enjoy the Kal-bi. The large fountain drink is a 44 oz cup and it's less than $2. You get alot of options in terms of the sides and their macaroni salad is top notch! Plenty of seating in the food court area of the mall.

LOL, damn, open my box of food there were three grilled chicken thighs! DAMN! again. Good side dishes also. A standard mall food-court food and they measured up to the standard. Three grilled chicken thighs, DAMN!!!

Huge servings but kimchi was terrible and bland and not cold. when we planned our hawaii trip, i specifically mapped out a korean restaurant for one dinner. when we realized it was in the mall- next to the panda, we were a little disappointed- and to top it off, my boy saw panda and that's all he wanted.

Great Korean BBQ. Kalbi Ribs are wonderful. Love the sides of Kim Chi and salads that comes with your meal. One of my first stops when I land in Maui. In the Mall's Food Court, but don't let that stop you :)

This restaurant is in the food court of the queen kamehameha mall. Its very popular and has beef, chicken, pork and fish. The "regular" size meal features four vegetables and the smaller size has only two vegetables. I found the small size enough. The food was definitely good and a great value. I would definitely go back.

If you want quantity at the expense of quality, this place will do. Kalbi and chicken were pretty good, but the bulgogi (BBQ beef) was very dry. I was hoping to find a hidden gem, but it turned out to be a run-of-the-mill mall restaurant.

Yes this is at the mall and worth a trip for very good Korean squid if you like that. Also had kal bi mix plate which was very good as well. Excellent value!

Stayed in Maui for the week. Ate Kalbi at 4 different places. This place is the best. I was so surprise how good it was for a mall. The meat is sliced thinly and griled to perfection. The marinade is what makes the meat. It comes with 2 scoops of rice and your choice of 4 banchan. Your best bets are chap chae, cucumbers and stir fried vegetables. For less than $13 this is a good deal compared to $21+ I was paying at the restaurants.

it's no sit down place, but it'll do the job. we both go the kalbi plate that included 4 panchan and a scoop of rice. everything was tasty and inexpensive for korean food. if we were in hawaii and had only a short time for lunch, not a bad place.

I'm a huge fan of the Kim Chee soup and the squid plate. The plates are HUGE for the price....I eat here at least once a week.....good stuff!

We came by to check out the raves. We thought it was so-so. Again its Maui. The food was okay. They had a line. So for the locale it must be aiite. Compared to LA its a dissapoinment. Banchan was yucks. No flavor. And it seemed a bit old.. u can't put kimchee/other stuff out in the head for a long time. It will ferment. The kalbi is too fatty. But its hard to find korean on the island..llet alone in a mall.
