Even though you are right beside the ocean literally, they use prebattered coconut shrimp from a box we saw and it tasted like it. Very disappointed. Dont go here on vacation.

More bar than restaurant. Lisa and friend led the way into the mostly full bar, only to be met with, stares, leers and one loud "Holy SH*T, from a crusty toothed patron standing by the door, whose fly was (already) open when they stepped inside. We quickly moved to the patio where families and a group of women were seated unmolested. Per the waitress the inside crowd was from a local trucking company and they were there every happy hour. After we recovered we had a good time listening to live music, eating decent food and drinking overpriced wine. Service was good. It was an enjoyable experience not worth seeking out and that is 3 stars. Mike

This place is nothing super special, but I swear they try. And since there's not a lot of good grinds on the West side of Kauai, I think this place is pretty darn good. Sunsets here are good and drinks are strong-ish. Sit outside and have a drink and hey, you are having a genuine Kauai experience brah.

Great little place! One of the only small little bars you can get a beer and watch the sunset. Good HH! Wontons were tasty.

Definitely one of the worst meals we had on our honeymoon. The service was terrible. It took forever just to get chips and salsa. My husband got the burger and I got the BLTA sandwich and both were mediocre at best. Definitely wouldn't come back again.

been there several times with friends and weren't disappointed must try their strawberry patron shots!!!!!

Good overall experience. Service was awesome. Food good.. Not "knock your socks off good", but above starting expectations. Tried calamari(good flavor and not tough), crab cakes good (but sauce better on calamari). Chips and salsa very good. Homemade Salsa was exceptional. Kid loves steam rice. Will come back if in area.

The sauteed Kauai Shrimp was the best shrimp I've ever tasted. It is served as whole shrimp, head and shell on, so you have to peel it. It had lots of garlic and just enough heat, maybe cayenne pepper. This shrimp is raised at a farm just a few miles from the restaurant, according to the waitress, and arrives at the restaurant fresh and unprocessed. It had such a wonderful flavor. Yes it's a little messy to peel but I'd make that sacrifice any day for such a delicious meal.

Came on a Friday night and the outside patio was packed. The live band was just getting started. Ordered the Kailua pork nachos as an appetizer and the seafood kebobs for my meal. The nachos were ok, nothing to write home about. On the plus side the chips were homemade. The seafood kebob wasn't even a kebob, just shrimp and fish on a plate. I might give this place another try, but won't hold my breath

This was my 1st time eating here. It is a place where one can come enjoy good food, good company, live music, with a great view. We came for dinner and it was not too crowded. Had a seat and the waitress came quickly to take our orders. The timing was just right as we got to see the sun setting while enjoying live music and family. There is a parking lot which is very close to the Resturant and a bathroom especially for their customers (a plus- since the people who went on the cruise was piling up to use the other restroom) *** reason for 4 star was because the tables were sticky and could have used a little cleaning. But overall everything was great

The rib eye is awesome, calamari is great, Ono was the most tender I have had in a long time. Atmosphere and service are great. It is great place to watch the sunset and enjoy a nice meal. A must go place to eat if in Port Allen. Give it a two thumbs up with a smile.

My boyfriend and I went there for our first time having dinner and pupus. It was hands down, delicious! We ordered the calamari steak, New York steak pupu style, and we both had hamburger steaks for our entrees. We also had happy hour drinks. Perfect drinks not to harsh or not to weak. On the plus side we got to see the sun set from Our table:)

Fast & friendly service! Right near the docks. Reasonably priced drinks. Great patio. Homemade chips for the kalua pork nachos!

Always visit here when on Kauai. For this last visit, my go-to poke app was fresh and yum. I had grilled ahi as a main, as did many in my party, but they were various portions, some smaller the others. A friend said the burger was fine but the bun was over-grilled. Service is always A+.

  • Jasmine D.

I have 2 favorite dishes: the New York Steak sandiwch & the ribeye! It's literally to die for! There's indoor & outdoor seating, but I prefer sitting outside because of the view & not to mention how good it feels since I always go for dinner. Speedy service & food comes out fast. :)

Finally! A good meal that cost less than $100! Two beers, a large app, two entrees, two kids entrees and two kids drink; total less than $70! I have had several dinners in Kauai that weren't even as good that were TWICE that. My fresh catch was Ono, it was well prepared grilled with a smokey flavor and a delicious sauce. My wife's yellow curry special was spicy and flavorful. The appetizer nachos had yummy pulled pork on them. Again, the food was very good but not "holy crap, this is the best fish I've ever had", so 4-starish. Service was the best we've had on this trip. Kanoe was very attentive. She accident brought out an extra beer with our original drink order and as soon as she reached the table and realized it the first words out of her mouth were, "Oops, I accidentally brought out another beer instead of your soda. It's on me." Bravo, Kanoe, everyone makes mistakes. 5-stars! Overall, a 4.5 star restaurant. Had to round down to 4. Come on Yelp, let us give half stars!

Waitress Lilybeth was awesome. Service and food were fast and good. Husband loved his ahi tuna fish and chips. I loved my salad and the clam chowder is the best! Note: it's not thick, but brothy and TONS of clams. Best of all- drinks are reasonably priced.

Decent spot - a little rundown + the view of the "sunset" is obstructed by some trees / shrubs. If your primary reason to drop in is to catch the sunset - you can do better...

  • M H.

Didn't have any food but I did have an awesome bloody mary! It was crowded but we managed to get some seats at the bar. Definitely will visit again.

  • Andrew A.

Great place - expect bar food and you won't be disappointed. Waitress was very nice, made specific recommendations on what was fresh, local so we didn't go with "iffy" items. Calamari steak crusted with macadamia nuts was great as we're the blackened shrimp. The ahi sandwich was amazing as it was the catch of the day. For kauai, not pricy at all!

  • Ms. N.

Food was ok. Had a bacon, lettuce, tomato and avocado sandwich. Seems like the bread was was too much for the sandwich fixings as it didn't fill up the sandwich. Taste wasn't there either. Came with wedge fries and they were pretty good. Better than the sandwich. Total paid was $9 and I didn't think it was worth the price.

A few nights ago, while on vacation back on Kauai, I met up with four former classmates who so happened to be on the island for dinner and to catch up with each other. We came on a weekday night so there was live music being played and a whole bunch of other locals enjoying their end to another day. Since there were five of us, the wait staff needed to adjust a few tables to accommodate us, but the wait wasn't long at all (maybe 5-10 minutes) after reserving a table. I started off with a Sunset Martini which was crisp and refreshing. For appetizers, we ordered some Deep Fried Wonton and the Asian Crab Cakes. The wonton was okay for the most part and the crab cakes were quite delicious, but nothing too spectacular. For dinner, I ordered the Ribeye with a side order of Fries. It was quite the spectacular dish. The side-veggies were well-cooked, the large wedge-cut fries were crisp on the outside and light and moist on the inside, and the steak was cooked perfectly and topped with a scrumptious light-brown cream sauce. If there was any issues, it was that the sauce was a tad saltier than I'd like and the food took a slight bit long. All in all, it was a good experience and if I were in the area again, I would eat here again.

  • Tad D.

Terrific food, terrific service. No soda refills? Well, nowhere's perfect I suppose. The appetizers: the macadamia crusted calamari steak was fantastic and the blackened shrimp well seasoned was not overcooked - yay! The sauce (a chili beurre blanc) with those dishes was awesome. My daughter got the coconut shrimp which was the best meal while I had the 'catch of the day' - mahi mahi - and while the fish was cooked to perfection, the sauce was missing something. My thought was a small amount of capers would have added the right briny, salty tang to an otherwise well prepared dish. Not quite a five star meal, but considering the price and setting it was one of the best meals I've had during my stay in Hawaii. The fish cost $17 and was equivalent but for the sauce though with bigger portions than the $37 mahi mahi I had at the Zagat rated Waterfront Restaurant in Maalaea on Maui.

  • Tom L.

Friendly service, but the food was just okay. For a place that's listed as a seafood restaurant I would have hoped for a little more. The seafood mix I ordered was overdone and definitely had been from a freezer.

Yummy catch of the day and great service. The bathroom could use a little love.

Mmm the taste of sweetly salted pork loin with a hint of thyme and the chili auoli sauce is still jumping off my tongue! This place has some gourmet kick to it with good portion size for a reasonable price. The cooks work hard and right in front of you as this place is essentially a bar with about 5 tables inside and 5 tables outside with a live band playing contemporary Hawaiian music. You know it's good food and good time when all the locals cone down for pau hana. With my pork loin plate I had a cup of their clam chowder, unfortunately they faltered a bit here, the chowder was rushed as it came out with my entree instead of before. It was nice and clammy but a bit too potato-y b/c I don't think it got time to thicken. I prop 4 for this place on taste and local atmosphere, you don't get that touristy feeling, but you get the high quality food. Knock by 1 b/c no dessert and the soup came at the same time as the entree, and the inside of the restaurant looks like a storage unit (just with beer tho..maybe I should give them 6 for that :-) Wish these guys could get a better venue, they'd make a killing!

Don't waste your time, money or appetite here. We had terrible service and the food was disappointing. The server came over and asked us if we were "ready to order or what?" And THEN.... The edamame literally had mold on it. We ordered the seafood kabob and when it was served, there was no kabob stick, the ahi tuna ("fresh catch of the day") looked like a pork chop, and was dry. The scallops were cold. The "manager", Pang, came over to see how the food was and when we told him, he argued with us that we should have told them that we didn't want the tuna well done when we ordered and should have told him sooner that the scallops were cold, and in the end did nothing about the situation other than argue. Disappointed in the service and food, and then over charged for our beers. I don't believe in supporting restaurants that don't value customer service, so support the movement and GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!! :) ~Thx fellow Yelpers!

port allen sunset bar & grill definitely hits the spot when you're coming off of a boat tour and you're still hungry from snorkeling!! i definitely like the pupu steak (the dipping sauce looks questionable, but it's actually really good). they've got a great happy hour, and, have live music which is a plus. wouldn't say it's my favorite place to grab a bite, but it's not bad.

    (3)
  • Virginia V.

Not bad, but for a seafood restaurant they only have one type of fish available per day served multiple ways. The day I stopped in it was Ahi tuna, not my favorite. They should have more than one choice. I stopped in again a few days later as I was going on a boat trip and, again, only Ahi and the coconut shrimp was from frozen prepare.

  • LisaLisa F.

great place to get off the boat and wander to an outside deck table. VERY strong Mai Tai and great service. I had better service here than at stinking Roys at Poipu. Calamari steak with Mango sauce appetizer was amazing...AND it was only $6.50...you would pay twice that for something half-crocked at south beach. give it a whirl if you are at Hanapepe Bay or getting off da' boat

Went here with a pretty large group (20) with a variety of dietary concerns. We were all pretty much accommodated even if the food itself was just 'okay'. I order the only two things I could: The tofu wrap and the tofu salad. It was essentially the same thing except for the tortilla wrap; the grilled tofu had a good texture and served its purpose. Nothing really set my taste buds aflutter but it wasn't bad either. A poll of my diner companions revealed they were all generally pleased with their meals but not bowled over. I do love the outdoor seating which allowed for optimal sunset viewing!

After almost a week of eating out at places bombarded by tourists, we found Port Allen Grill & Bar in Hanepepe, and it was exactly what we were looking for ... a fun place that served tasty meals at a reasonable price. More importantly, there were more locals there than tourists, and I loved the friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The band was fantastic and sunset was absolutely breathtaking ... definitely one of the most memorable meals we had in Kauai.

  • Brad W.

Great food for a reasonable price. Nice view of the ocean when the whales are here also.

Great little place right by the water. Had some trouble finding it at first but glad we didn't give up! Had the Calamari Steak and Crab Cakes. Both were superb and the prices were even better! Next time I'm on Kaua'i I'll be sure to go to Port Allen if only for nothing other than to grab a bite to eat here!

Stopped here with no recommendations and loved it. The eight of us showed up and took over two tables. The service was great and the food was very tasty. The sashimi was super fresh and fantastic. I had the tofu veggie wrap, which was great.

  • Tara S.

Good food, casual, relaxed setting, friendly service, plenty of locals. Stopped here as a recommendation from a local for good food without the resort prices. I had an asian-style tofu salad that was good but didn't get to enjoy as much because I wasn't feeling so hot. My husband got mahi mahi platter which he really enjoyed. We were there for a late dinner and they had live music. Lots of locals there chatting over drinks. Service was friendly and efficient.

Great pupu place, live music some evenings, great location near the water. I tried the calamari, shrimp saimin, steak pupu, ahi poke, wontons, chips and homemade salsa, edamame and crab cakes. Loved the saimin and calamari! Eager to try the seafood salad next time.

We stopped here after seeing an ad in one of the travel brochures given to us at the airport (classy all the way, I know) and were pleasantly surprised! We had the happy hour, a burger (not special priced but very reasonable for the island $9), fried wontons and the bbq shrimp and it was really tasty! The food was only $5 and I thought the quality of the food for the price was one of the best on the island that we experienced. The beer selection wasn't amazing but they had a decent amount to chose from and the happy hour price was $3 per pint. The sunset view is fantastic, I would highly recommend going there around 5:30 to be there to catch it. Also they have large TV's playing football which my husband liked. The ambience is very casual, and the outdoor seating looked a lot more comfortable than indoor (and if it rains, do not fret, they have covering on the outdoor patio area). We really enjoyed it and would definitely go back!

anything or anywhere that you can enjoy kauai's epic sunet's are always enjoyable. located on the pier right next to the offices of the charter boats going to see the pali- so you are bound to see adventurist and HOTT local sailor boys. they have a bar to order drinks-nothing special and i has a salad. nothing to complain about, if you're just looking for a snak and a chill spot for a sunset on the west side of kauai

  • Mary S.

I enjoyed this place very much. It's right by the port an it's nice and quiet. Happy hour was a good deal. 2 people got 2 beers each, edamame and 2 meals for $30. I definitely recommend this place. I suggest getting the Shrimp saimin and kimchi :).

  • Connie S.

Ordered the fish wrap that was to come with Mahi Mahi, the fish of the day. One would assume that, especially for Hawaii, means that is fresh caught. This was the worst fish I have ever had. It tasted so fishy that it could not have been fresh. Awful! I will say that they did make me a BLT instead and it was good, but not great. If you pay $9 for a BLT, it should have a decent amount of bacon on it, but this had only a couple slices. I guess for Kauai the prices were in line with what you get. You really can't see much of the water from here as it looks a great deal like a warehouse area. Lots of flies to contend with also. I know it's outdoor dining, but we have eaten many places in Hawaii outdoors and have never experienced a problem before. I would not return and would not recommend.

My posse and I had spent most of the day wandering around on nearby Glass Beach, and hiking on a cane road to a secluded beach in a tucked away cove. We were tired, hot, and hungry! This was the first place we really saw, and I think it had okay reviews in our guide books. All of the outdoor seating was filled up, which was probably for the best since I think we were starting to get burned anyway. They thought we were going on the sunset cruise, it seems as though they get a lot of customers because of that. They only had one server/waiter for inside and out, so service was a little slow at times - but overall pretty decent. Prices range from $5.95 to $17.95 including appetizers and entrees. Like Lisa Ann, I also ordered the Sunset Seafood Salad for $12.95. Their blurb about it says "Our signature seafood, with organic mixed greens, served with sweet chili vinaigrette." This was the perfect meal for someone like me who can never make up their minds on what to try because everything sounds good! It had tuna, shrimp, scallops, and ahi or something. All of it was prepared very well and as a whole filled me up perfectly. Other people in my group got the Broiled New York Steak Sandwich, comes with sauteed onions and mushrooms and the chef's "special sauce" for $10.95. They practically licked their plates, so I figure that they enjoyed it. Now that I think about it, my brother actually might have. Boys! Also ordered was the Macadamia Nut Crusted Calamari Steak for $6.50. It is so worth it because it's absolutely delicious! It wasn't even mine and I kept begging for tastes.

Have to try the coconut shrimp and the pork loin with a sweet chili beurre blanc. Hard to believe your eating such amazing food... from a bar!

We liked it so much we came back for a second time. Be sure to check on the daily specials. There is always a fresh fish of the day option and the ice cream pie is great. I just read that they now carry the Right Slice pie lady pies which are to die for. Get there in time for sunset, but if you miss the sunset, you will enjoy the local crowd, the food and the great service. Weekends have live music which we all enjoyed. It also fits the pocketbook and is a refreshing change from the high priced hotel options.

  • Rafael O.

The food here is very good. Our party of four ordered the steak pious, crab cakes and calamari strips for pious. For dinner a couple if us had the catch of the day, another had the pork loin and the fourth had hamburger steak. All enjoyed their food very much. The reason I dropped this from a possible 4 stars to 3 stars is because the service was pretty slow. They only had one server for the place. The food didn't take extra long to get to us, but I took a while to get our orders an the drinks weren't refilled fast. More beers were brought out fast but my glass of water didn't get refilled until we were done even though I asked a few times to get a refill.

Good stuff at Port Allen Sunset Bar & Grill. Decent prices, great location, live music on the weekends. The ahi poke is some of the best around. Calamari and steak pupus are also great. Come early on the weekend, fills up pretty quick.

I had some time to spare before going on a sunset sail, and decided to have a salad at probably the only restaurant close by in Port Allen other than a Subway or Mc Donalds I just can't bring my self to eat at" the ordinary you can get it anywhere food place" when out of town. I ordered the Sunrise seafood salad and boy was I pleasantly surprised! It was a bed of mixed greens with three large shrimp, a few large scallops, and some mahi. The best part was the flavor of the dressing, it was a spicy ginger, I am guessing since ginger grows all over the island it is used quite a bit in recipes here and what a treat for the taste buds that is! I really had no idea a seafood salad could be this good!

    (5)
  • Chris T.

Very average food. Ceasar salad was lettuce & dressing (no cheese, tomatoes, nada). Fish sandwich very plain also, with about a qtr tsp of mustard, and a tiny bit of tomato. Slow/poor service.

  • Nancy B.

The fresh catch of the day was Ono. I had the fish and chips (substituted rice for the fries). Hubby had the same, only with the fries. The Ono is a white fish, very tender and flaky. The Ono was cooked in a very light and crispy batter. Amazing. Yum, yum. Service was great, people very friendly. The server lady (I think she may have been the owner) was welcoming and friendly and it was her nature. Sweet lady. Good place to eat fresh fish!

We had some time to kill before our cruise to the coast so we stopped in here for some drinks and a snack. They have a good sized outdoor seating area. You are not directly next to the ocean but you can easily see it from your table if you are sitting outside. Our server was quite friendly. The menu is what you would expect from a bar and grill. We were just looking for a snack so we just ordered chips and salsa. The chips were ok. The salsa had very good flavor. I was expecting standard out of the jar salsa, so I was pleasantly surprised. They do offer a good assortment of tropical drinks. Since we did not eat a meal I cannot speak to this place for that, but it is an ok place to grab some drinks before or after your cruise.

  • Ashley S.

Worst service I think that I've ever had. We walked in and didn't even realize that the server was actually a server. She was just kind of standing around. She then asked "inside or out?" We then asked for a menu, since we weren't sure if we wanted to actually eat there, she proceeded to ask "inside or out?". She gave us one menu, for two people. She then stood there, paused for a very long time, then asked us what we wanted to drink. I said we would start with water, and then get a drink, because it was happy hour. After we ordered our food, we got one drink, and she asked me " and what do you want to drink?", In an extremely rude attitude. Once we started to finally get out food the wontons were actually pretty good. Finished those before we got any of our other appetizers. The plate was empty and the server brought our other foods, didn't take the empty plate or refill my water cup. We also had the kalua pork nachos which was decent. The siamin, which in opinion, was Top Raman with some veggies in it. And the hot wings, which were pretty crispy and hot. Once quite literally all of our food was gone from our plate and there was no water in out cups, the server kept skipping our table and was helping other tables. We asked for water and the check, it took the server about 7 minutes to actually get us water and then another 5 minutes for our check. Could have walked away without paying very easily but bad service doesn't warrant bad behavior.

It's a small casual restaurant/bar overlooking Port Allen. There was a sunset but it was over some buildings. Their food is tasty! The mahi mahi fish and chips were awesome. Fresh mahi mahi that was soft (it wasn't tough and dry like most mahi mahi in SoCal). Everyone else having dinner with me enjoyed their food just as much as I did. After dinner we had a kona pie. It was good food, so much so that I craved everything from that dinner when I was back home. I couldn't find fish n chips as good as theirs but I did find a mud pie to remind me of this place. Service was slow. It took about 15-20 for the only server in the restaurant to take our order. She was friendly in a different kinda way. My uncle wanted water with no ice and she brought it out saying he's the weirdo that doesn't want ice in his water. And then afterward said just kidding. It wasn't funny though.

I'm writing this review and can only base my experience off the fact that I was not greeted when I walked in and had to ask if I needed to wait to be seated. Once I found a table for myself a waitress showed up a few minutes later and I asked for a water. It took over 10 min for me to get my water and after waiting an additional 25 minutes to order I ended up leaving and eating at the Brewery (which had great customer service). The place was not busy and the waitress never came back the entire 30+ minutes that I was there to take my order.

Ended up here at 8:30pm-ish on Tuesday night. Had been delayed by helping a family who had locked themselves out of their car up at Waimea Canyon (unfortunately, their daughter with special needs, was locked inside). Thankfully, the local fire department came and was able to open the car. Tried the Grind's cafe, but they were closed. Then we went to Kaui Island Brewery & Grill, and we're politely turned away and told that the kitchen was closed (FYI- both places are listed as closing at 9pm on yelp). We were told this place was around the corner and open. The food and drinks were fine. The service was good. The wait staff was very friendly and polite. WARNING to non-locals: A group of about 10 rowdy younger people (probably late teens-20's), got out of hand once the karaoke began. They appeared to be drinking heavily. Some we're making trips to the dark parking lot, and the thought occurred to me that they may be using other substances. The wait staff did not appear to be concerned about them. I didn't think too much of it until one of them shouted "F&$@ You Haoles!". I was there with my husband, and his sister and her husband (ages 34-63). My sister-in-law's husband had been uncomfortable for a while about the group. We were aware that we were likely the only non- locals, especially since the other patrons appeared to know the wait staff. Needless to say, we promptly departed the establishment.

I've been here for dinner before, but this is the first time I've been here to just drink and have a good time. My friend told me they have karaoke here so I figured what the heck, let's go! I rounded up a few friends and we headed in. We went in around 10 on a Friday night and the lanai was packed, we were still seated right away. Our server was very polite and asked us right away if we wanted anything to drink - YES! Since it was 10, she informed us the kitchen was closing, but still had the pupu steak and nachos, we ended up getting the Nachos, which wasn't a bad idea. Let me tell you about those nachos. TO DIE FOR! They were topped with your usual sour cream, green onions, tomatoes, etc, but their tortilla chips, whoa... They must use flour chips because they MELT IN YOUR MOUTH! Another friend told me she orders them almost ever day - No joke! Did I mention the karaoke was free? When we went no one was singing, so we decided to warm up the place and before you knew it everyone was singing! The crowd was amazing and so was our service! I'll definitely be back!

A real gem in an unlikely location...nice outdoor seating overlooking the harbor. Good food, fish and chips were excellent! Salads, appetizers were all delicious! We came back four times in the week we spent on the island and service was always good. The prices are very reasonable and portions were generous. All in all, a really good option on the west side of Kauai!

If you like good food then don't come here. This was the worst meal we had on the island. Menu had a poor selection and all of the entrees had an Asian influence and this heavy "chefs special" cream sauce with butter and heavy cream. The service was bad. All of out entrees came out separately so some people were finished before others got their order. Unfortunately the waitress didn't bother to check on us and was unaware at the poor quality of the food. I ordered the seafood kabob with the sauce on the side. It was over cooked and incredibly underwhelming. My husband ordered the fish of the day (ahi) medium rare; it came out well done. Others ordered the fish wrap, which they said the best part was the wasabi aioli. A majority of the wrap was lettuce. Even the kiddo ordered spaghetti noodles and they were crunchy and not cooked. One person in our group ordered the ribeye and was pleased. It was covered in that cream sauce, however. Drinks were weak, too!

I had the fish (Ono) and chips, small portions and lots of breading. The fish was fresh. The fries were really good and hot. The drink (lava flow) not the best, but good. I will come here again for the Kimchee.i had it before and it was good.

Comically bad service. Food was fine. No complaints about the food, except they were a bit skimpy on the onion rings. But the service was unbearably bad. Luckily we were in a good mood and could laugh about it, but there were two servers, one (male) appeared to be overworked, frazzled, and running around. The other (female) was totally out of it and incredibly bad at her job. We asked for menus twice. She forgot. We asked for liquids three times. She forgot. She didn't even apologize, because clearly, in her mind, it was the first time we had asked for such items. We finally got the male waiter to help us. He was really nice, but obviously making up for all of the tables that she was neglecting, so running around like his hair was on fire. Finally, right after we got our food, she tried to hand us someone else's check. Like I said, we were in a good mood (hello, we were on Kauai, so good mood), so it was comical. Then we watched her try to hand the same check to several other tables. We also overheard another table asking her if she'd ever waited tables before. She said she had bartended before. I call bullsh*t. If this is true, then there is no hope for her. However, if this is her first waitressing job, then maybe she can be trained. We've traveled a bit, to many different places, and this is the worst service ever. Food wasn't horrible, so 2 stars for the food.

I eat Thai curry every week back home but their Thai curry was the best ever. I ordered with mahi mahi and was the best choice ever. My wife had chef's special fish which was fresh broiled mahi mahi. Wonderful!!!!! I can believe what gastronomical experience we had. Lily, the waitress, was wonderful and pleasant. The owner came over many times to make sure that everything is fine. If you want a fancy place you better search somewhere else but if you look for a great warm hospitality crew and quality tasty food then better choose this place. I never been so impressed by a simple restaurant like this. Most expensive and fancy restaurants sell you the location and sofisticated interior design but they totally forget about food. Keep it up guys!!!!!

When you go to a bar and grill, expect bar food. :). Great rib eye, fresh fish, and good drinks. They could be a little stronger though.
