After my first terrible experience with Olay's at the Made In Hawaii Expo I swore never again. But a young lady named Macy messaged me shortly after apologizing for my horrible experience, and invited my husband and I to try one more time, on them. I was skeptical at first, but I ran into them again at the Baby Expo and my husband was begging me to stop and fuel up. As I made my way closer to the booth, I realized that all they had was curry (it was pretty early). I was scared considering what had happened to me the last time. I peered into the tubs and saw my old friend...yellow chicken curry. I decided "well..if I'm going to give it a fair shot, I have to eat the same thing again." My husband opted for the pumpkin curry. The young man who was working DEFINITELY did not want to be there, but I couldn't blame him. It was early, there were kids screaming from all directions, not fun. He kind of blankly looked at me as I ordered but he honored my freebie redo. As I opened my plate, I held my breath. I was having flashbacks of the horrible oily soup I had the last time and the soggy rice. I took my first bite when suddenly, I had a revelation. THE FOOD WAS AMAZING! Holy heart attack batman, the food was AMAZING. So good, that I just had to say that again. The yellow chicken curry actually had some decent pieces of chicken, there was oil but not too much where I couldn't taste anything else. The jasmine rice was perfect. And ho man, don't even get me started on the PUMPKIN curry! My husband and I fought for the left overs when we came home. Definitely glad I tried it again, because I was NOT disappointed. The curry hit the spot WITHOUT SRIRACHA (and anyone who knows me knows I like everything spicy. The curry needed NO extra help being delicious). I cannot wait to eat Olay's again!

Been here twice and ordered the Pumpkin Curry both times! I like it because its unique and tasty! Service was quick and my meal arrived shortly after ordering. The only downside to this spot is parking. I had a difficult time finding an open spot. You may have to find an opening on the street :/

I really don't like curry because I can't handle the spice, but when I tried the pumpkin curry. WOW... I liked it. It had the right amount of meat, pumpkin and curry. Now we keep going back every week with my co-worker .

This review is for their restaurant, not their mobile food booth. Awesome food. Adequate service but they seem to get overwhelmed/distracted easily. Saw more flies than I was comfortable with. Love their food though so I will probably just do take out from now on.

Now when I way Woohoo! As good as it gets - this is in reference as good as it gets for food trucks! By no means is it a 5 star sit down dining experience, but it is a 5 star for YUMMINESS and service factor! Yumminess galore! So here I am writing the review now a few months later - but folks let me tell ya - all I can say was - yup it was THAT good that I can still sing praises about it! So we went to the 50th State Fair way back when. Yes you have to have your dang food tickets and all that jazz. Let's move forward shall we? I do not recall the individual dishes - but I remember the service! Food - YUUUUUUUMY!!! I gotta tell ya I was not one bit disappointed with this place! The folks running this joint at the state fair sure did make sure we were well pleased, they even gave me samples of the food so I knew how hot it would be for the kids! That sticks with me! You don't get that much these days! I do not recall price wise what it was maybe about $8-10 per plate (quite reasonable for the portions which were VERY generous!)- but if these folks ever travel out to the windward side - I will definitely order up from them! And when compared to the chinese food truck joint - I ended up sharing my plate with my hubby. I had to go pick up an extra dish I had ordered - and told the folks - just how great the food was, that hubs ditched his crummy plate and was eating mine up - and they were kind enough to give an extra portion for the hubs in the extra dish I had ordered. That's the service I love to see! And that my Yelpers is why they get a 5!

Arguably best thai on the island from satay pork & chicken, to curries & entrees, to pad thai...WOW. My husband is Thai & it's hard to impress him, but Olay's did it!

Like other reviewers, the parking situation sucks. There's only 3 spots in the front reserved for customers and it usually always taken. Street parking isn't much better either. So minus one star for that but that the only negative thing I can think of for this place. However, the effort of looking for parking is so worth it as the food is awesome! I heard they get their ingredients from the local farmers markets so their food always tastes fresh and adds more to the deliciousness! Some of my favorites would have to be the papaya salad and the pumpkin curry. I would DEFINATELY recommend to visit this place to eat.

Not clean. The cooks wear same gloves all day putting hands in pocket and working phone. Disgusting. They think the gloves protect THEM. Germ city!!!!!!

If I could give 0 stars I would. I was at the Makiki Farmer's Market on a Thursday and I am standing waiting to be served. All of their 5 workers just ignore me. Finally I'm like are you guys opened? Then with a rude attitude they say no. Who makes their customers wait and not even acknowledge them? Well don't go here, customer service sucks!

We go to the UH Baseball games and they have a tent on the first floor. The Pad Thai noodles are the best, actually everything they serve was delicious. We buy the large plate and it can feed at least 5 people. Large servings great price!

Located in the industrial business area of Halawa. It is a hole-in-the-wall! It is street side, so you will be able to spot it, but parking is limited or you can find street parking. The establishment is a casual dinning, clean and quant. There's a few 4-top tables. Air conditioned. The staff is fast and friendly. Laurie P. was in the mood for Thai (again) and I wanted pad thai, so we trekked our way into Halawa. She and I have similar taste, so I had her order. We got the green papaya salad, shrimp pad thai, pork kambocha curry, a thai ice tea for her and a thai ice coffee for me. We ordered each items at medium. It was a nice amount of heat with the ability to taste our food. I have tried their food before and this place has good thai food! This is one of my new favorite Thai food stops!

Got to try these guys at the KCC farmer's market and have been hooked ever since. PUMPKIN CURRY!!!!!!!! If you are a kabocha fanatic, for $9 (less if you order regular/jasmine rice and not sticky rice) you will be in heaven. The kabocha is so soft and some of it disintegrates into the curry, thickening it up a little. There's chicken in it as well. It's so creamy but still has a bit of a kick to it. You can add your own chili sauce if you need even more. Let's be honest, you know you need to get sticky rice when you're eating thai food. As the guy helping me said, "you want the curry over your rice--- wait, sista, is that even a question?!?!!" NO BRAINER. I also tried their thai iced tea and mango sticky rice. Both pretty standard. YUMMM. I should really be a little more adventurous and try their other things but I just love their pumpkin curry so much. Though their regular location is a little far for me, I will continue to visit them at the KCC farmer's market!!

I am obsessed with the pumpkin curry here. Seriously, for about a week it was the first thing that crossed my mind when I woke up and the last thing I thought of before I went to sleep. Its so darn good! Soft pumpkin mixed in with soft chicken and basil.. ahhhhh! I have ordered take out of this dish 7 times already and can't seem to order anything else. Oh, and I am not preggo.. so it wasn't just some crazy preggo craving! Usually at Thai restaurants I order red curry with chicken. After I read other reviews that recommended the pumpkin curry entree I gave it a try and boy I am hooked! It tastes like red curry but the pumpkin gives it a subtle sweetness that flavors the curry oh so perfectly. The chicken wings were average but they need to work on the dipping sauce, it was watered down. The Pad thai was ok. Seemed like it had no spice/heat. I will probably order it spicy next time! The breakfast menu looks interesting, I hope to give it a go soon! The ambiance at the restaurant is quaint and simple. The service was just regular but it wasn't terrible.

I only get to taste their delicious food when they're at a weekend event. Their pumpkin curry is the best! Real comfort food. The rice is either hit or miss. I always ask for brown rice. Either they're out or sometimes the rice is spoiled and inedible like it was at this year's Chinese New Year celebration at the Chinese Cultural Plaza. I think it was because it was sitting out all day or it was leftovers from the day before. I wish they opened later so I could go to their restaurant.

I was a vendor at a food and new products expo last month and on the last day of the event I decided to not pack any food and to get some food from the vendors. It was a really risky thing for me to do since I don't eat a lot of things anymore (grains, beans, dairy, and refined sugars). I walked around the whole expo and came across Olays twice. At first I wasn't going to even look at the menu bcs I figured they were going to have premade curries where I wouldn't be able to omit things. But one dish caught my eye the second time I walked around; the fried chicken. They are ingenious bcs they had a picture of the dish along with ingredients listed for everyone to see and to simplify ordering. The fried chicken ingredients looked legit for me so I ordered a small order. Man. I should have gotten the big order bcs that fried chicken was soooo good!! It was crispy and tender, flavorful and not greasy. A month later and I'm still thinking of that fried chicken! That says something right there. I'm going to have to venture out to them and get me some more fried chicken!

Last night, we had tried Olay's Thai Food at the Honolulu Farmer's Market for the first time. We really enjoyed the food. And the price is right too! We will be a regular for sure. We had Padthai and Green Curry. We wish they have Thai Ice Tea at the Farmer's Market...

Olay's used to be a food truck till 6 months ago. Now with a Restaurant it's a contender for some of the best Thai Food on the Island. FIrst off when you walk in everything is clean and fresh. Next they Serve Bottled Water (something you don't see everyday, if ever in other restaurants). The Appetizer Platter was good, Pumpkin Curry Chicken was amazing, Pad Thai above average, Drunken Noodles very good, Penang Curry Chicken good. Service is fantastic. Ani's Bakery is around the corner which should not be missed after L or D.

This place is a vegetarian's galore. They're willing to make just about everything on the menu to be vegetarian. They're reasonably priced too. With the LivingSocial deal, I was able to get 4 dishes, and each and every one of them was delicious: Jasmine Rice w/Peanut Butter Curry, a Pan Fried Noodle dish, Vegetarian Eggrolls, and Mango Sticky Rice. The vegetables that came with the eggrolls tasted so fresh and crispy. My only disappointment is that they're kind of out of the way. I wish they had a restaurant near my home. This place would be my regular go-to place when I don't want to cook!

Spicy! Hot! Caliente! This place is definitely a little harder to get to since its in the industrial district but well worth the drive! Patrons are friendly and are quick with your orders, even with large parties. Parking will most likely have to be on the after so be aware since it might be a little difficult. Door is on the left! When I came here with a group of fellow yelpers, we split a couple different plates. Included were the drunken noodle, curry, and a couple sides of brown and white rice. The food was delicious, with the right amount of spice at the medium level. Adding the chili peppers to the meal made it all better, a little too spicy for my taste! I started sweating after that. This place is great for large groups since they do a good job of catering. If you are a fan of Thai and wanna try something new and tasteful, definitely come visit!

Ugh... Why aren't they open? We left Olay's at 1039am on Monday, 6/2/14. Hours on yelp and websites AND store door claims they open at 10am. We saw an elderly man squatting outside but he disappeared shortly after. When we got out to look inside the restaurant's locked glass door- it didn't even look ready- chairs were up on top of the tables... Um, so when DO they open if not 10am or 1030 am, even?? Sigh... If I could give 0 stars, I would :/

Pumpkin curry was really good. However medium hot was really hot for me. Mango sticky rice way too sweet. Pad thai was just okay. Nothing special. Tasted dry. Fish with chili sauce was basically soggy battered fish pieces drenched in what tasted like just curry sauce over cabbage. Rice was good and included in the curry and fish order. Owner was friendly however maybe the son? Not so much. We had a groupon deal and after holding my phone in his hand for a while to scan/redeem the groupon he finally handed it over but then reached around while I was using my phone to start pressing buttons?! He was trying hit "redeemed." He could have asked politely instead of invading my personal space. This place was just average, there are so many Thai restaurants around the area that I would not make this place a priority to return anytime soon.

I'm addicted to the food here, best thai food I've had on island; I try to come here at least once a week and order something different - every dish has been wonderful and such fresh ingredients. Owner is so friendly and remembers his customers (always gives me extra peppers) Highly recommend!!

Very, Very helpful and positive with selections. This was the end of our week on the island. It was the best meal we had. You can't go wrong with this place. The selection is awesome. The quality is awesome. The food was so good, and even my nephews loved it, my mom loved it. And that is saying something. She's a fussy eater. The pumpkin curry was so good. Now I'm back on the main land, I'm going to look for more, and see if I can find it. Their garlic and mushroom dish was very good too. Over all a wonderful end to our trip.

Dear Olay's Thai Food Express, I haven't driven to Halawa since my dad had a company there when I was a little girl. But for you, for you I will come. And I did. With my husband and kids. And it wasn't hard at all. Small but neat and good for kiddies as uppity people don't eat in Halawa. I've been stalking you at craft fairs and farmers markets for some time, showing up at your table with a crazed look in my eye before your food has even arrived, checking back every ten minutes and making you insane. So it is wonderful to have a brick and mortar option. It would be even more wonderful if your bricks were open at night, as that's when this family typically dines, but I understand. But if you did open at night we'd be there probably every week. And I would order enough food to have leftovers for two days. Not that we'd be enough to sustain your extra hours, but perhaps there are others. Just so you know. Okay. Your food is amazing. As always. Which is why I stalk you. And you're so vegetarian friendly. Fish sauce? What? They squeeze that out of the fish then throw it back in the water, right? Right. Let's make a list! Yea! Pad Thai: Really yummy. Vegetable spring rolls: Really yummy. Green Papaya Salad: Really yummy. Pad Seew: Savory, not at all sweet. but Really yummy. Ong Choy: REALLY yummy. Pineapple Curry: REALLY YUMMY! Mango Sticky Rice: REALLY FREAKING YUMMY! So yummy I can't stand it. And so large, so very large and glorious and I ate the whole dang thing but pretended my husband ate some of it because I was ashamed. Sticky rice: Sticky. And... ONE DOLLAR WITH AN ENTREE! Cheap-ity cheap. I can't wait to taste the rest of your, what was it, 65 items? Mmmm. Sincerely, Angela

I decided to try the popular pumpkin curry everyone's been raving about and Im so glad I did! I asked for it thai hot and and it truely was that. The dish runs very spicy however you can still savor the taste and enjoy it. I tried the veggie pumpkin curry with brown rice the portions were perfect. The location of the restaurant is hidden but worth the trip. If you are looking for delicious thai food come to Olays! This place has the best thai food on the island!

Ok taste but portion size was small. We ordered larb and a pumpkin curry with shrimp, shrimps were so small--I was expecting a decent sized shrimp so we were disappointed. Would eat again but wish they would be a little more generous with portions.

I wish they were open for more than just week day lunch, but I understand it based on their location. There food is delicious, satay chicken especially, but be ready to wait a bit for your food. Service is not lightening fast, but they are friendly. Will definitely eat here again.

Not sure why this place has 4 stars. We were very unimpressed with the quality of the meals we ordered. Ordered ginger chicken soup, pad thai with shrimp, panang curry, and the coconut tapioca. We were underwhelmed by everything we ordered. Def would not recommend.

Name one restaurant that will invite you in five minutes before closing. OLAY'S Thai Food Express! I called ahead to make sure they were still open and we were planning on taking out. However, the woman on the phone said we were more than welcome to come in and eat. We got there and a couple tables were taken with people eating so we didn't feel too bad about being late. Mind you they close at 6 so it wasn't like it was 10 PM and almost time to go to bed. Anyway, we ended up ordering a bunch of food and the woman/waitress/possibly owner was really nice and accomodating. She recommended the special, which I ended up getting. We got our son the spring rolls and my husband got the pumpkin curry (thanks Lori!). Be warned that mild and medium are pretty similar so if you're unsure, get the mild! My husband loves spicy and he said the medium was spicier than he thought but definitely not more than he could handle. He wants to get THAI HOT next time! Yikes! Good thing the woman was awesome at refilling water because I was sweating and my tongue was on fire! My son loved the spring rolls and it was a good sized dish of them. Lately it seems like spring rolls are going up in price and decreasing in amount. Not a good combination. I loved my food and the special was great because I got to try their curry and papaya salad, two separate entrees I couldn't make up my mind on. The pumpkin curry was good but seriously I had enough spice at that point. I wanted tapioca but they were all out. Next time I will try coming during lunch. If you need to find this place, look for Crazy Shirts University and it's right across the street. You never would have found this place otherwise. It's quite the hole in the wall but really delicious! I highly recommend it! I used to eat their Pad Thai at the Makiki Open Market but I am glad that we found this place now that we moved to the West side.

Bona fide Thai food just a stone's throw away from Halawa Correctional Facility? Who knew?!? Unless you work in the Halawa Industrial Park, Olay's is out of your way; but I believe worth the trip. We wandered over there for lunch yesterday and tried 4 dishes: Cucumber Salad: good Pumpkin Curry: very, very good Pineapple Fried Rice: pretty good Fried Whole Snapper in a Lime and Cilantro Sauce: very good It looks like they do a lot of take-out orders. I saw plenty of Styrofoam headed out the door. They also have a dining room with several comfortable tables. We ate in. The service was pretty good. The Thai iced teas came out late; but other than that, I found nothing to complain about. We shall return. When we do, I'll be ordering the Pumpkin Curry again.

Yesterday I had the pumpkin curry and pad see we wow the pumpkin curry is amazing . I highly recommend this curry. The restaurant doesn't look like much but the food and service are so good this place would be 5 star if it was in Waikiki excellent food

I love thai food, so when I saw a Groupon for here, I eagerly purchased one. I previously tried food from their food truck, but didn't realize they also had a sit down restaurant. I came here for dinner with my friend on a weekday and I arrived at 5:30pm. Stupid me. I didn't even think about checking their hours. We peeked in and it turns out they closed at 5pm. We were going to come back another day, but a lady came out and invited us in. We felt bad we were there half hour after they closed, so we just ordered take out. We ordered the pad thai, evil jungle curry with sticky rice, and larb. We waited about 10-15 minutes for them to cook. The lady even offered us water when we waited. All the dishes were great!!! Very flavorful AND their "spicy" is actually spicy! Prices are very reasonable. Love that they were so accommodating and cooked for us even after they closed. Would love to go again during their regular hours to sit down and eat, but they close so early. (Then again, it is pretty sketchy to be in Halawa at night. Lol.)

After a week in Hawaii we were killing time waiting for our flight and by pure chance ended up near here. The Yelp app showed this as near to where we were and so we went for it. My mother's said "This is the best food I've eaten in Hawaii this week." We tried the pumpkin curry based on the reviews here. The employee said they started it as a seasonal item and it was so popular it became a regular menu item. They do 7-9 farmer market's a week as well. I wish I could remember the dish names to share them with everybody. I wish we had Thai like this where I live. Next time we come to Hawaii this will be our first stop after landing.

their pumpkin curry is delicious, and the service is exceptional. I've yet to make it to their actual restaurant, but if their blaisdell spread is representative of everything they do - then preach!

I got to try Olay's thai express curry at the ward farmer's market today. The red curry veggie is so delicious and you can get it for $8. It has bamboo shoots and is made with coconut milk. I really liked it but I had bad service today and the girl was not friendly, borderline rude. I think I'll go to the other curry vendors from now on. I didn't get a nice thank you and had to ask for a bag. When I said my order she said "what?".

The pumpkin curry was delicious! Even the "mild" had a bit of hotness to it which was perfect for my taste. I just ordered all veggies with sticky rice and had enough for two meals! :)

Tried the yellow chicken curry with sticky rice and pad thai at the Made in Hawaii Festival and it was onolicious! One of the best Thai food I've had in general - having both of those in the two choice plate certainly got my taste buds tingling!

While browsing for "Food" near "Aiea, HI" and sorting by Highest Rating, this place caught my eye a month or so ago. I finally had the chance last week to check it out along with a few of my co-workers. I called a minute before 5:00PM just to verify restaurant hours. The person on the phone verified the 5:00PM closing time as stated on Yelp but said I could place an order for pickup. This was quite a surprise and I made sure to take note for the next day when I would be placing the order. I called in my order at about 4:20PM: -Two chicken panang curries with sticky rice, one mild and one medium -Two chicken pumpkin curries with jasmine rice Each dish comes with jasmine rice already included in the price, but for only one dollar more you can upgrade to sticky rice. When I placed my order, I made sure to mention I would get to the restaurant at around 4:45-4:50PM. As expected, the order was ready for pickup on arrival and was still piping hot at the delivery/consumption point 15-20 minutes after pickup time. I ate my medium spicy chicken panang. At first it tasted a little unbearably spicy, but as time passed and the temperature decreased the spiciness subsided slightly. My coworkers, on the other hand, were given runny noses from their simply mild curry plates. Weaklings! One coworker noted that the pumpkin was perfectly cooked (not too mushy). With the perfect balance of liquid, vegetables, meat, and rice, everyone was full and probably needed a quick nap. Olay's definitely lived up to the hype in the reviews and pictures. The prices are great (four plates for around $9 each), the food is delicious and I assume pretty healthy, and they take credit card. What more can you ask for? I will definitely come back again to try the pad thai and maybe attempt going a little spicier. Don't forget to prep some Kleenex.

I'm so happy to have a great Thai place near my work! I called in my order and the lady that took my order was very friendly, that's great for a first impression! When I walked to the place to get my food, I was almost lost because they totally changed it from the previous owner. They did a great job making a nice cozy place. I ordered the special which was green chicken curry with green papaya salad and I gotta have my sticky rice so I subbed the jasmine rice for it. With a Thai tea, the final bill was over $13. Sounds steep but if I didn't opt for the sticky rice and tea, the meal would have been less than $10 after tax. And the amount of food I got for that price is more than worth it! The curry was very flavorful and the chicken very tender. The papaya salad was delicious, and I'm not the biggest fan of green papaya salad. Great food, friendly service and and clean-looking place will have me coming here quite often!

The best tasting Thai food I've had on island. Very low prices and huge servings. The staff is very friendly and always attentive. I wish they were open later for dinner but due to the location I understand why they are not. I've never had problems with parking although I do see that it is tight. However, I enjoy a nice stroll when walking to and from a restaurant. Highly recommended!

I've been following Olay's from Kaiser High farmers market to the farmers market in Makiki just because I couldn't wait a week to eat there again. So now that they opened there brick & mortar place in Halawa I drove down to try it out. Just as good as the farmers markets. Actually it's even better because now the menu is huge. You get a home cooked Thai meal everytime. The food is sooo good and you can't beat the prices. The staff is warm and friendly you can tell that this is a family run business. I love the seafood Tom yum and the red curry with chicken but honestly everything is great. This is a have to try place that's for sure.

This place just opened in Halawa and right down the street from my office. It was delicious. I had the pineapple curry with chicken - mild. Lots of chunks of fresh veggies in the curry. Small restaurant but nice and clean inside. Staff was friendly.

I was craving chicken satay with peanut sauce so I Yelped Thai food and saw that this place had really good reviews. Turns out, they are a few buildings down from where I work - this was great, because Halawa Industrial Park has very few places to eat. I ordered the chicken satay w/ peanut sauce. The portion size was pretty good for the price. The peanut sauce was excellent, but the chicken was rubbery and old tasting...kind of like when you get food that has been sitting under a heater for too long. A little disappointing because I hoped it would be good since it's so convenient to my work place. But it wasn't so bad that I wouldn't try it again on a different day.

We really enjoyed our food here! For 2 of us we ordered chicken pumpkin curry with sticky rice and shrimp pad thai. The pad thai was great and the pumpkin curry was every bit as good as they say. The curry had a little heat to it but it only complimented the flavors. I would order both again. We finished the pad thai and are taking some curry home. The portions are perfect. We also had the mango sticky rice for dessert and it was so good. This place is small and isn't open in the evening, but the staff is nice and attentive and the food comes out fast. I would recommend Olay's.

LOVE LOVE LOVE Thai food. But I sure wish the kid working here would stop drooping around and being so stand off ish when taking our order, bringing our drinks, and bringing our food out. I swear he's slamming our drinks down on the table. Sorry that you're a miserable prick dude. No tip for you. But, all in all, the food is definitely delicious.

Loved this place!!! Small but the food is tasty and YUMMMY. Not bad for a place like this and I wouldn't found this place if it wasn't from groupon. I tried this place out at the craft fair at Blaisdell this weekend. I had the pork bbq stick, spring roll, lemon grass fried chicken and the stuffed chicken wings. Everything thing was delish. The best thing is that I live right up the road from their restaurant. Definitely going to be stopping by soon.

I've eaten at Olay's a half-dozen times. They have great-tasting authentic Thai cuisine AND also serve local favorites with Thai twists. Interesting menu. Be prepared to sit and relax while they cook your meal. It is all made 'to order' and definitely worth the wait.

First time trying this place; called in a take out order. Very small, but clean and bright. Ordered the pumpkin curry, evil jungle prince, papaya salad and tom kha. Everything was very good and seasoned according to what I asked for: medium on curries, and mild for soup and salad. The pumpkin curry was exceptional...sweet and spicy and overall savory. I love that this restaurant is so close to my house and I can avoid driving on H1 and Kam Hwy. I only wish they were open later. I will certainly be back

On a scale from one to amazing, I am going to give this place amazing. The owner puts her heart and soul into her cooking. Every item on her delicious menu is absolutely to thai for. I loved this place so much that I have booked their catering services for my wedding this August. Their catering prices are very reasonable and the owner spent her time to really work with me for what my family I needed. Thank you and keep supplying oahu with your delectable thai delights!

I had been looking for a good and reasonably priced Thai restaurant for awhile and stumbled onto Olay's. The food is good and plentiful and is inexpensive. The ambiance isn't great, but it's clean and the service is good. It is a little tough to find, being located in an industrial park, but worth the effort.

Absolutely a true hidden gem. You wouldn't think that a restaurant in industrial park would be so awesome, it is! The pumpkin curry was out of this world as was the chicken pad Thai. The waiter was fantastic very patient with us and made very good recommendations. MUST try. Can't wait to go back.

Excellent service!!! We arrived just as they were closing and they still sat us and fed us a wonderful meal. I highly recommend the green curry. Delicious.

Heard about this place from my son, who is a regular for lunch. Parking is a bit of a challenge, but the food was outstanding, particularly the Padang (peanut curry). We also had pad Thai noodles (OK), and tom kha soup (excellent). Service was good, waiter was very attentive. We will most definitely be returning.

Great prices. Very casual place, not fancy. The food had great flavors I just didn't like their chicken. I'm picky with chicken and I don't like to have fat or anything on chicken in a stir fry or soup. Their chicken had a lot of that though. I would come back though and get shrimp instead of chicken.

Went there for lunch today to use the Groupon that I got online. Luckily we found street parking because wasn't sure about parking in the lot. It seemed there was a project happening on one of the tables in the dining area, but we did find a seat. We were given our menus 1st, but a couple of women that were seated after us got their order taken before us. Three of the workers seemed to be working on this project and I felt like we were being ignored. Finally I said, "can we place our order please." A girl came over to our table, but wasn't very friendly and especially after I made a comment, "we were seated before those ladies..." she did manage to say "sorry." It took 25 minutes for us to get our food, but I guess that's because it was cooked to order and fresh. It's a small place with about 7 tables and there's a TV, so my hubby got to sit next to me while we ate and enjoyed what was playing. Enjoyed the food, but don't know if we'll be returning...after all, I didn't feel welcomed. Sometimes it's about the service received that will make customers return. I should know, I've done customer service work myself.

I've tried just about every Thai restaurant out there, but this has to be my favorite! Their curry is nothing short of perfection and the price is reasonable. Although I didn't visit their restaurant, I was glad to find them at the Kaiser Medical Center's farmers market!

While visiting the Pacific Ink and Art Expo at the Blaisdell, we found ourselves hanging out so long that we needed FOOD. The girls (4 years old) were easy ..... chicken strips and fries from the concession stand. The 17 year old boy, hell, I just gave him money and he came back with spam musubi (probably from the concession stand as well). My wife and I, however, wanted something different (and more substantial). Hmmmmm, what should we get??? Then out of the corner of my eye, I noticed Olay'sThai. EXCELLENT!!! We have a winner!!! We tried the green curry (with chicken) and pad thai, and the flavors were FANTASTIC. Normally, we are fans of Bangkok Chef and rarely cheat on them, but since this was a special occasion, we figured ...... why not? And we are damned glad we did. Their main shop is located in Aiea, so venturing out that way just for Thai food is unlikely (since we live in town). But if we happened to be out there anyway, I'm pretty sure we wouldn't hesitate to visit and indulge in their Thai goodness. And from what I've been told and read, their pumpkin curry is to die for. Hell, I might even make a trip just for that, and if the food in-house is near as good as it is away, I'm confident that a 5 star is on the horizon. The prices were reasonable. Staff were pleasant.

The reviews on the Pumpkin Curry are on point. I love the flavor and creaminess of the curry. I'm a huge fan of both curry and kabocha (pumpkin) so this is a match made in heaven. Parking is limited, especially during lunch hours. Lots of folks who work in the immediate area park on the street so street parking is quite tight. They do have a few stalls in front of their restaurant. There are quite a few seats inside the restaurant but I would prefer to get take out the next time I go. When my sister and I tried this place out for the first time we dined in and the service was fine but I think I would prefer my own home to enjoy my Pumpkin Curry with Chicken and my Tofu Sateh. Mmm my mouth is watering I write this review. I will say that the Pad Thai was tasty however it had these small crunchy things in there that kind of ruined my experience. I would probably avoid ordering it again and try another noodle dish of theres. Go check it out. I had to use Google Maps to find this place because it's in the Halawa Industrial area. Hope this review helps.

PUMPKIN CURRY with CHICKEN. I was in Halawa and knew there was a Thai restaurant somewhere in the valley. (I'm a Thai food addict. I just knew.) I normally always order the same thing but this time for some reason I decided to scan the yelp pictures and I came across Ira J's picture of the pumpkin curry and it said "very very good". I've never had pumpkin curry before and it looked good, so I decided to live a little and deviate from my routine. But just in case it wasn't very very good, I also ordered my regular stuff along with the pumpkin curry. Everything was VERY VERY GOOD!! PUMPKIN CURRY WITH CHICKEN. yelp.com/biz_photos/olay… My FAVORITE!!! It's a creamy reddish curry, but not like what you would expect from a "red curry", masaman curry, or Evil Jungle curry. The chicken pieces were cut into perfectly bite sized pieces with the fat removed, and the pumpkin added a nice texture and flavor to the dish. I absolutely LOVED it. GREEN CURRY yelp.com/biz_photos/olay… This was also excellent!! The eggplant was cooked through and the curry was exactly how I like it. My only issue with this dish has nothing to do with the food but how they packaged it. The container tipped in the car and half the curry spilled on my floor, so be careful if you take this to go or maybe ask for a double bag. It's not their fault I drive like a madwoman, but just FYI when the curry starts to cook in your carpet when you are parked in the sun, the fish sauce makes your car smell like you know what. PAD THAI yelp.com/biz_photos/olay… I always drown my Pad Thai with curry so it's more a vehicle to get the curry in my mouth rather than a separate dish. Unless you work in Halawa, you'll never drive past this place by accident. You'll never stumble upon this place because another restaurant was full. You'll never drop in on your way home from work. You might see them as a mobile vendor at one of those food-festival type places. But if you come to their actual restaurant, you will have to make a conscious effort to find this place and when you do, make sure you order the PUMPKIN CURRY with chicken. And CALL FIRST, their business hours are kind of weird because they do a lot of fairs/festivals/farmers markets etc..

It was great to try this place out. Had a groupon so was able to even get an awesome deal from their already low prices. I had tried their pumpkin soup thing, the drunken whatever it was, and my favorite.... lumpia. It was all really good. I got the pumpkin because of all the rave reviews of it but I wasn't a fan. The drunken whatever thing it was, it was recommended by the waitress so tried that. I liked it better than the pumpkin thing but of course nothing beats the lumpia. Parking was a little hard. Very small parking lot. Place was pretty small and you could hear everyone's conversations so easy. Plus the workers were just lounging around and I felt like I was sitting next to them, even the girl fixing some sign on the table next to us. It was kind of weird. Besides that, I love small business and I would recommend people go and check it out. If we're in the area and I craved Thai food, definitely a place I'd go to. The prices are definitely reasonable. But I'd never go out of my way for this place

Can't say enough good things about this place! Check them out and support local! Price: $60 for 6 dishes including tax, tip and 2 side order of jasmine rice. Customer Service: Owner was the cashier, sever and cook that day. She came out of the kitchen many times with various bottle of sauces to verify with me if it was gluten-free! Restroom: Clean! Entertainment: Whatever they are showing on their T.V. may be more entertaining than your company...

Finally, a good Thai restaurant on Oahu! I have been to several places trying to find that really good Thai food, never happened. I was pleasantly surprised when a coworker brought some back to the office. I had the N4, YUMMYY! I have also had their spring rolls, summer rolls, Pad Thai (chicken & shrimp), all which were absolutely wonderful! They are close to the office, so sometimes instead of takeout we head over for a sit down as well. It doesn't look like all that, but the inside is fine. I wouldn't say that have the best customer service, but it is tolerable. Check their social media sites before going in, as they close for events & catering. The office has becomes regulars for a reason, YUMMY FOOD!

One of my favorite thai food places! I work right up the road, plus my pregnancy cravings are always going nuts, so it's convenient. I've never eaten in the restaurant, only take-out. It's a small quaint hole in the wall place, servers are nice, except for one guy, who's seems like he absolutely hated his job. I love love love the green papaya salad, chicken pad thai and summer rolls. The green curry is also one of my favorites. Overall, I'd recommend this place! A yummy quick fix.

Hidden GEM in Halawa Valley...one of the best restaurants for THAI dishes, the Curries are so good! Love this place...the workers are pretty funny! My favorite is the STUFFED CHICKEN WINGS! Try it, you won't regret getting it!

I came here based on the reviews at Yelp and because I love Thai food. I consider myself somewhat of an aficionado when it comes to Thai cuisine. So based on the reviews at Yelp, I had to try the pumpkin curry. I like spicy. I mean, I truly like my thai food to be full flavored and full of fire. When the waiter took my order he asked me how spicy I would like my curry. I told him that I wanted it prepared the way that it would be prepared in Thailand. I do not want it spicy for the sake of being spicy I want to be able to enjoy all the flavors, but I want it to make me sweat. Oh, and on the menu they have four levels of spice they have mild, medium, hot, and Thai hot. So I guess I ordered it Thai hot. At least that was my understanding. The curry was bland I mean not spicy at all. It certainly was not "Thai spicy". If this is what they consider a spicy dish, I don't think that they know what Thai food is. Needless to say, I was disappointed. I think if there had been a little heat in this dish, it would actually have been pretty good.

Probably my favorite on the island because of the one dish you cannot find in any Thai restaurants here...their Thai loco moco!!! Whoever invented it was a genius! Love their Tom Kha soup as well as the lemongrass chicken. I just wish they are open on the weekends!

Olay's Thai Food Express could use a better location. It's in the middle of a bunch of warehouses and parking can be tight. At least it was when I visited around lunchtime on a Thursday afternoon. There are only three parking spaces in the lot out front that aren't reserved by other businesses, and although there is also street parking it seemed to be pretty full. Luckily, the food is worth it! I got the Pumpkin Curry with chicken and an order of the Summer Rolls. The summer rolls were decent - fresh and well-constructed, served with a delicious peanut sauce. The Pumpkin Curry was awesome. Creamy curry, tender pumpkin, and perfectly cooked chicken. Just a quick warning about the spiciness (though since this is Thai food it is probably to be expected) - it can be a little on the spicy side. I got a medium and it packed a little bit of a kick. Prices are a little more than you would pay for a plate lunch, but more than reasonable for excellent sit-down Thai food. The portion sizes were pretty good - the Summer Rolls were just 2 average sized rolls, but the curry had 2 scoops of rice and enough curry for 2 meals. Can't wait to go back again, though I think I might either phone in my order for takeout or go earlier instead.

I didn't go to the restaurant, but they had a food booth at the firework show at Ford island: stuffed chicken wings - 4 stars - they were selling 2 wings for $4, and haven't seen this side dish at too many restaurants anymore, so because it's a rare find, I commend this restaurant for providing it at their food booth. However, no sauce came with it. veggie pad thai - 5 stars - for $6 I got a small plate, and it was very flavorful with a strong peanut taste to it. After trying their food, I'll have to eat at their restaurant one day.

My FAVORITE Thai food on Oahu, hands-down. At farmer's markets, you're able to get Pad Thai as a side with your curry (or choice of main dish), and I love that you're able to get Pad Thai with the entree instead only choosing one item. Their Red curry is really good along with their Panang curry. My husband always gets the Panang, and I always get the Pumpkin Chicken Curry. It is so good, and nothing compares to it really! The summer rolls with peanut sauce are also good, and I like mixing some of the pumpkin curry in with the Pad Thai noodles. We have tried quite a few other Thai restaurants on Oahu, but this stand at the farmer's market always has the best, most flavorful Thai food.

Whenever I'm at a farmer's market or at some sort of event, they always seem to have a booth there. When I saw a Groupon for Olay's, I was stoked. I didn't even know that they had a restaurant. I just thought they were a booth at events. I love their pumpkin curry and stuffed chicken wings. When they are doing events, they just do the chicken curry (red, green, panang and pumpkin). It's mild and not spicy whatsoever. I ilke this place because I haven't found any other Thai eateries that do pumpkin curry. I finally find their restaurant and it's only open Monday-Fridays. It's out in Aiea, in an industrial area where you don't find too many eateries. The parking here sucks. They only have two or three stalls in front of their place, so good luck with the street parking. We got lucky. As soon as we arrived, there was a car pulling out of the curb, fronting the restaurant. Inside of the restaurant is a little run down. We got an order of calamari, stuffed chicken wings, mild chicken pineapple curry, mild seafood pumpkin curry with two bowls of sticky rice. We also tried their Thai iced coffee. Let me start off by saying that their mild in the restaurant is different from the mild at their booths. At the restaurant, both of the mild curries had a kick to it. It was spicy enough to where my 7 year old son couldn't eat it because it was burning his mouth. He had no problems with it at the booths. I understand that curries are hard to do though because everyones version of mild is different. Some people will comment that their mild is too bland, others will say that their mild is too spicy. It really depends on your personal palate. Their seafood curry consisted of mussels, shrimp, calamari and fish. The pineapple curry had the right amount of tartness to it. The stuffed wings were awesome. It was stuffed with chicken, onions, mushrooms, carrots, long rice and bamboo shoots. It came with a side of sweet chili sauce for dipping. The calamari was also fantastic. It was fried crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. My son almost ate the whole plate by himself. I wish they would have given more, the plate of calamari was on the skimpy side. I couldn't finish my curry and rice, so I asked for a take out container. When the girl brought me my container, I looked inside and it was dirty. There were black specks in it. I don't know whether it was pepper or what. I went to the bathroom and just rinsed out the container and it was fine. They really should check the containers before giving them out to customers. I accidentally deleted all my food pics from here :( I still have my collage that I put on my Facebook though, which I will be posting on here.

Stopped by their booth at the 3rd Friday Food Truck Experience at Waialua High School. It seemed a bit pricey, but the food was pretty good. I got a two choice plate with Panang Curry and Pad Thai, some garlic pork sticks, sateh chicken sticks, and spring rolls.

I have had Olay's Thai Food at farmers' markets, but one happy day I happened upon their restaurant location. Very small, but the same amazing food and great customer service. I had the pad see iew and evil jungle curry and it was just to die for. The parking is terrible but the food is completely worth it.

I bought a groupon that's worth $25. I wanted to try this place because it's always at eat the street and events. They are known for their pumpkin curry, I guess? Finally found a day to go all the way there with my family. It looks like a secluded place. It's around factories and industrial area. Parking was limited but we parked on the side. As we were walking in workers greeted us. They were very friendly and nice. There was a few customers when we went inside. Not too busy. Looking at the menu I looked through the curry section. I know people has been saying their chicken pumpkin curry is awesome. So I decided to get that. My mom wanted the chicken pineapple curry, and my brother ordered the chicken pad thai. The curry comes with a bowl of rice. Five of us all shared 3 dishes. The pumpkin curry was pretty good. It was sweet and salty. Tooo salty. The pad thai was ok, kinda oily. The pineapple curry was really oily. It was drowned in oil. We didn't think it was good. My mom liked the rice though. Overall the food was ok. Portions were small. The bill came out to be around $32~ I wouldn't come back.

Olaaaaaay....Olay Olay Olay .... Olaaaay Ooolaay! I sing it in my head any time I head over to this place. Get my game face on. Fight that parking...or better yet, call in and take out. Bring a friend to wait in the car. My sister and I stumbled upon this tucked away gem while trying to figure out our lunch stop. We yelped thai food in the area and saw Olay's. "No way!" We said, "a Thai food place in Halawa Valley?? Where?!?" We actually almost drove by it. We were so happy we found it...as are my co-workers who have done lunch runs there twice this week. Pumpkin curry....yum Panang curry...yum Red curry...yum Green curry...yum Pad Thai....yum Pad see ew...yum Pad ki mao...yum Thai iced tea...double yum Sweet potato tapioca...best ever. The spicy is spicy perfection. I love that they cook it the right way where you don't feel like they dumped sambal into the curry to make it hot, they use legit thai chili peppers. And if you ask nicely three may bring you some fresh ones out to eat with your food. It's wonderful. Price is right. Service is super. Everything seems so fresh that it's worth the wait for the food to be cooked. I just wish they were open later so I could take food home after work!

Yelp has done it again! Another small hole in the wall place that you wouldn't know was there if it wasn't for the wonderful world of Yelp :) Okay maybe you would know by word of mouth, but that's not what I'm writing for today :) First the positives: The food is great! The servings initially looks pretty small to me, but surprisingly, I kept eating and we still managed to have leftovers. Yelpers didn't lie when they said the pumpkin curry was good! It was delicious! We also ordered the pork eggplant stir-fry which I enjoyed as well as the pad Thai. All of it was super yummy. The mango sticky rice was tasty too! Service was good despite the guy being slammed at some points. My water was always refilled and he would always find a way to check on us which was nice. Now the downer, parking kinda sucks! Only 3 stalls up front and when we went, they were taken by the restaurant who was loading up for their trek to the farmer's market. We managed to score street parking down the road. I did notice a lot of people seem to call their orders in, so maybe that's the way to go.
