Definitely the place to get the BEST sweet bread EVER! Yeah, they do sell them in other stores like longs, walmart, etc. but getting it here you know its fresh. They also have taro rolls, guava bread, lilikoi bread, pies and other pastries. Getting the bread at the source is also cheaper and theres more variety to choose. The breads even make a great french toast...mmm

They have one of the best custard pies! Oh and their pineapple/apricot sweet bread is to die for! Everything that they make is soooooo good!

there's a gravitational pull to this place that's started me wondering whether the real center of the earth is actually ani's! not only is the crack pie (sweet potato) unreal, but those butter rolls jeez. the sweet potato pie is great for a special occasion treat because it's rich and sweet and expensive (but worth every cent as it's heavy as a brick) but those rolls are much lighter (well, until you hit that buttery center). if i didn't have a spouse that i was forced to share this with, i'd be popping that entire tray into my mouth in one sitting, all by myself. and the counter lady who assisted me with selecting was right: this is a thousand times better than an ensaymada!!! be prepared to shell out about $10 for a tray of what amounts to 12 sweet dinner rolls sliced horizontally and spread with that decadent buttery frosting-like spread in the middle. it's half the price of the crack pie but won't last nearly half as long since they are pillow-y deliciousness

I love (and I mean LOVE) Ani's Okinawan Sweet Potatoe Haupia Pie....ever since Aunty introduced it to me some 5 years ago, I need to pick one up whenever we are in town. You can find their sweet bread at the local Long's and their Chocolate Haupia pies at local Costco...but the Sweet Potatoe is really the best and I think you can only get it at the bake shop. It has the most buttery macadamia nut (?) crust. The people there are super nice too, b/c they waited for us to come pick up our pies even though we called them a half hour after closing.

" JUST THE WAY YOU ARE " " MY VERSION " " NOT BRUNO MARS " Oh, those ROLLS, those ROLLS Make my stomach look like it's nine months pregnant The Butter Cream, The Butter Cream, taste perfectly without me biting It's so damn beautiful, and i would eat them everyday Yeah, i know, i know, when i say they taste so good, some yelpers won't believe me And it's so, it's so sad that they don't taste what i ate But everytime Ani asks me do i look okay i say When i feed my face There's not a thing that i would change Cause they're amazing Just the way they are And when i smile The whole Yelp World stops and stares for a while Cause these Butter Cream Rolls are AMAZING Just the way they are So Soft, So Soft, i could eat them all day if my wife would let me I burp, i burp, she hates it but i think it's so sexy Those Cream Rolls are so damn addicting And i could eat them everday Oh, you know you know you know i'd never ask you to change If perfect's what your looking for then just stay the same So don't even bother asking if you taste ok You know i'll say When i feed my face There's not a thing that i would change Cause your'e AMAZING Just the way you are And when i burp The whole world stops and stares for a while Cause you Butter Cream Rolls, you're amazing Just the way you are The way you are The way you are Oh Butter Cream Rolls, you're amazing Just the way you are When i feed my face There's not a thing that i would change Cause they taste so damn amazing Just the way they are And when i burp The whole Yelp world stops and stares for a while Cause Butter Cream Rolls, you're AMAZING Just the way you are, YEAH =) In ending, i will have to tell you the only reason i come here is for those Butter Cream Rolls. They are just so soft and have the perfect texture and balance they are just like eating Sunflower Seeds or Pork Rinds, you can't eat just one. And the best part about eating these addicting Butter Cream Rolls is that they are sold EXCLUSIVELY at this place and sold no where else which makes it worth driving all the way from Mililani to this place in Halawa. I must warn you though, they do run out rather fast so early bird gets the worm. I am a big Peanut Butter fan and these Peanut Butter Cream Rolls are just so damn good i can't stop at just one. They sell these Butter Cream Rolls in packages of twelve and they sell for $8.99 a dozen, which i think is a fair price to me. They sell other items as well such as Chiffon Cakes and Guava Pound Cakes but for me the draw here are the Butter Cream Rolls. They have several flavors to choose from such as... * PEANUT BUTTER CREAM ROLLS * LILIKOI BUTTER CREAM ROLLS * GUAVA BUTTER CREAM ROLLS * BUTTER CREAM ROLLS * STRAWBERRY BUTTER CREAM ROLLS Well anyway, so many people have told me to try these rolls and let me tell you, being a foodie has it's advantages because i would have never known about these Butter Cream Rolls that they were talking so highly of. Now, i am hooked and these are definitely the perfect things to bring to mainland or Japan because you cannot them anywhere on the island except here. The only problem i would encounter is that they do need some TLC because they are so soft and delicate and smashing them would just make me cry having them look like a Panini Sandwich. To all you fellow yeeps, give these Butter Cream Rolls a try and let me know if they are as delicious as i think they are.....

I remember eating the fruit bread loaves as a child. Finally had the chance to swing by the bakery to pick up some fresh fruit bread. Boy did they not disappoint!!!!! Got a guava bread and was in heaven with the guava juiciness at the base of the bread. There's more than enough to go around with each slice you take. Also picked up some cinnamon bread and banana bread. Visited on a Friday afternoon around 430/5 pm and they still had pretty decent selection!! A definite must stop whenever in the Aiea/Halawa neighborhood.

The butter cream rolls here are the devil! Why are they so cheap and delicious! Must also try the peanut butter cream rolls. You will be in heaven.

Ani's is one of my favorite bakery on the island. They have the usual baked goods like the glazed doughnuts, eclairs, long johns, muffins, and other delicious pastries, which are all delicious. delicious how? Ani's serve their pastries fresh. I have not had anything from there that tasted a day old, all their products just melt in your mouth. How is Ani's different from any other bakery? They have their butter rolls that come in different flavors.. like: mango, lilikoi, peanut butter, guava, and just the plain butter cream. It goes perfect with a cup of coffee. If you're looking for something different, try their butter rolls it is delicious!

A little pricy, but you do get what you pay for here, my favorite the peanut butter cream rolls highly addictive. Bananna cream pie with mac nuts baked into the crust is awesome, but must be ordered in advance. Their sandwich buns when available are great for burgers and sandwiches at home. Pick something and you won't be dissapointed.

What else is there to say that hasn't been said already??? If you're in the area, or just passing by, do yourself a huge favor and stop by Ani's. The butter cream rolls are definitely worth the side trek. $8.99 for a package of 12 rolls of foodgasms. I tried the lilikoi and guava, and guava wins hands down. I don't even think I need to try the other ones. The rolls and butter cream are both soft and fluffy. The guava cream was sweet, but not overly so. Ani's is a mixed blessing: I'm glad I tried the famous rolls, but I'm sad because I crave them all the time, and they are definitely not healthy! I had 4 in one day...

Another great place that's been hidden in plain sight.... well, for me anyway! They open at 6:00 am Monday thru Saturday, and since I was returning from an appointment one morning I decided "what the hey!" You know, I pass this place so many times it's ridiculous. The area outside is sorta on the worn down, unkempt side as it's a shared building with other businesses, and I'm thinking the landlord doesn't mind it as long as he gets his rent. But it's really what's on the inside that counts. Upon entering you're greeted to the sights of a working bakery in progress, the efficient control of baking mayhem, in such a confined space. I was totally impressed. I got the Mocha Butter Cream Rolls and was just blown away. The roll itself is so light and delicate. It's like when you take your very first bite, you know your next bite is gonna be bigger, and you're gonna try and put more in your mouth....really! And then this super soft roll is filled with this scrumptious, delicious mocha cream butter where again when you take that very first bite, you'll be doing that ever so slight head bob up and down, saying to yourself....."YEAH that's what I'm talking about! Whoa baby..... where you been all my life, I like it, I love it , I need more of it!" It isn't over poweringly sweet... And yet it is. It's not super duper creamy.... And again it certainly could be. With just a slight hint of mocha, and yet it's everywhere in your mouth. I'm trying to describe it, but I can't. How can I explain it...... I'll take another bite, but this time bigger and try again! I was so excited to get it home to have and share, that when I remembered to take pix they were gone. Oh well, I guess it just gives me a reason for a return visit..... to....... umm... collect data for research purposes.... so I can give a better explanatory, explanation.

Finally decided to try this place. Always drove by but never went in. Got the lilikoi butter rolls and some donuts. The rolls were okay, but the donuts was a waste of money and calories. The people behind the counter weren't friendly, they both had the look of "just get what you want and get the hell outta here". They must've had a bad day or really hate their job. Will we ever try this place again? I doubt it...once was enough for us!

Prices are steep, but well worth your money. You see their goods at supermarkets and Costco, but there's nothing better than purchasing directly since their store has a variety of pies, rolls, bread, pastries, & even sandwiches, (which you won't find anywhere else). & even better ... They're fresh. A few years ago I was tasked to pick up a sweet potato pie from here for a potluck at work. Even though Ani's is only a drive down the road before my commute to work, it took some persuasion considering I knew this pie was a little over $20. I've had their stuff before and yes... I did think it was really good, but who do they think they are charging $20+ for a pie, when I can get one at Anna Millers or Foodland for $10 less. Well, hence the one star knock off because if it weren't for the high prices, this place would definitely be a 5. Their shop is just a bakery, no fancy atmosphere, no chairs or tables to indulge your pastries in, & parking is limited, which is fine since its one of those places you're in & out of fairly quickly. Whether you're looking for something sweet or not so sweet this bakery has it all. Location is right across where the old Panasonic building was & now DLS. Once you enter the loop coming from either direction you make a left at the first stop light. Head up the road and and Ani's will be to your right immediately after passing the first intersection.

Everything in moderation. Yeah right! Huge, delectable, not overly sweet or heavily glazed cinnamon rolls studded with raisins. Monstrous apple fritters packed with buttery goodness kissed by light, sugary sweetness. The freshest of the freshest cinnamon, banana, and pumpkin spice breads (for the holidays). Ani's has it down. Yes, you can find some of their products in super markets or even Costco but: 1. Bakery freshness can't be beat. Were talking night and day. 2. Only the bakery sells the monstrous pastries. Prices seem higher than most bakeries but you get what you pay for. It might mean your big box of goodies sets you back an extra five bucks. Good thing your gym membership is paid up! Worth the indulgence!

It might have been the fact that we were hungry after a half day's worth of shopping. It might have been the fact that we hadn't eaten anything since our mid-morning snack and it was now lunchtime. Or it might have been the fact that Ani's is actually just really good! Ani's made me realize that there are people other than my mama, who can make a mean egg salad sandwich that's just perfect! Not just that, but for all those mainland folk and locals who crave an Okinawan sweet potato haupia pie just as good as that at Gyotaku's, there's Ani's!

What we grabbed: sweet potato haupia pie and lilikoi butter rolls Basically, the BEST bakery I have ever tried in my ENTIRE life (just based off of a few items I've tried) I learned of this bake shop after sampling their sweet potato haupia pie and custard pie at the Dessert Fantasy event thrown by the UCPA. It was at this event that I fell in love. The bakery is located near some warehouses and is very small but their sign is visible from the street. There are no tables and chairs to sit down and eat but I can live with that. We took ours and devoured our treats at my place. Going into the bakery, I knew I wanted the sweet potato haupia pie. There were none left, not even any slices! What a dilemma. Luckily, my girlfriend has no shame and peeked her head into the kitchen and spotted some of the pies that had not been set out yet. We were allowed to take them and made sure to hold onto them for dear life. Nobody was taking this pie from me. This pie is so tasty and I'm pretty sure they crush macademia nuts and sneak them into the crust bc it definitely have a crunch to it. Even the mountain of cream on top was amazing. Can't explain how much I'm in love with this pie. We have also read on here that their rolls are to die for so we made sure to grab these as well. They come in packs of a dozen and come in a variety of flavors: lilikoi butter, pineapple butter, peanut butter, guava butter. I'm literally drooling thinking about these. We split a pack of lilikoi and these are TO DIE FOR. If you are Filipino and have had pandesal, these rolls look just like pandesal but are so airy, fluffy, buttery, flavorful. There are not enough words that I can use to describe them. I'm sorry (not sorry), but they're way better than any pandesal I've ever tried. At quick glance, I did see that they also offer a small selection of cookies, different flavored pound cakes (i.e. lemon, guava), pies (I only saw apple but they may have others). I'm sure someone on here has listed what they offer. I'm consumed with the pies and rolls for now but will venture to try the other treats at another time! Go Ani's!

I was not a fan of bake shop goods, especially boring bread. Now I am. Holy yum. Thanks to my cousin who brought over a loaf to me while visiting Maui! Sliced that buggah up, popped it in the toaster and spread some peanut butter on top. HEAVEN!! A friend I shared some with at work said it tastes like Trader Joe's cookie butter with the peanut butter addition. So looking forward to my next omiyage (hint, hint!)

I'm very disappointed. I bought a loaf of apricot bread and it was just bread with a lump of apricot jam piled in the bottom. Maybe my expectations were too high, or maybe there is no way to get the apricot mixed in the dough. But I won't buy it again.

Went to this hidden gem on the recommendation of my cousin who's a local. The guava and lilikoi butter cream rolls are absolutely amazing, as I'm sure the rest of the flavors are, as well. Now back home on the mainland and can't stop thinking and salivating over these delicious treats. Do yourself a favor and get a couple dozen...worth every penny!

HOLY BUTTER CREAM ROLLS!!! Ummm so one day my co-worker brought in 'butter rolls' for everyone... I kindly declined the offer but she was insistent that these were the best butter rolls around so she gave me one... looks can be deceiving because the butter roll looked average... but once you bit into the soft bread, the butter flavored filling... you are HOOKED!!! OMG FOODGASM! The LILIKOI flavored rolls is what she brought in. It was DELISH!!! Truly THE BEST roll I've ever had... and I don't even really care for lilikoi! I got directions to the bakery (of course) and ended up visiting one morning after I finished my night shift. I purchased a package of lilikoi butter cream rolls, peanut butter cream rolls, and 2 chocolate long johns. The peanut butter cream rolls are just as yummy. BUT, I personally prefer the lilikoi (as do my parents)... the BF likes the peanut butter cream. I've also tried the original butter cream which is just as good. The long johns are HUGE!!! And BY FAR, they are THE BEST long johns!!! The exterior is so soft it melts in your mouth... I usually like to eat pastries cold (weird I know) but it doesn't harden up the bread like a long john from Napoleon's Bakery for example. It stays SUPER SOFT!!! A package of butter cream rolls is $8.99. The long john's are $2 or maybe a little more? My apologies but I can't remember. The prices are a little steeper but it is TOTALLY WORTH EVERY CENT!!! They have other flavors of rolls (original, strawberry, guava) as well as other pastries (variety of donuts and ensemadas)... also blueberry cheesecake and jello cream cheese squares (which I have yet to try) as well as sweet bread and pies. Parking lot is small but people are in and out so it's usually not an issue. Staff is SOOOOOO FRIENDLY! The woman working in the AM is such a sweetheart! Easy to find as well. Plastic accepted! Thank the heavens my co-worker for giving me a lilikoi butter cream roll... and thank you Ani's Bake Shop for being so damn awesome!

Me being a sweets guy, how did I not know about Ani's bakeshop. My cousin Brit has told me about it before and she said its really good but I haven't gotten the time to go and visit them. They are located in an industrial area of Halwa Valley. Its at the beginning so you dont have to go all the way in by the jail if your scared. They are located pretty much where the old Panasonic / Technics building was. I go and visit this place on my day i call in Sick. I always seem to find new places to visit when im sick. I wonder why, but i go and walk in the door and its pretty much a no frills place. Its just three cases and a rack of stuff to buy. Its pretty much the bakery but with a no more than 10 feet store front by the door where you can buy stuff. Im pretty much eating with my eyes at this point and proceed to pick out the stuff that looks amazing and also suggested by other yelpers. The top choice to get when your here is blueberry cream cheese pie. That is top of the list onolicious. Not gonna lie i could have eating a whole pie of this by my self. the next choice was the Jello something. Its in the same cold case as the Blueberry cream cheese pie. and last by not least, the chocolate long john is something to get if your looking to get that one more thing. Great safe choice. I'll be visiting them again when Im sick or when I get a chance to hit them up during my days off on the week ends. Also the prices are not out of this world like the places in downtown / town side. Love love this place and i for sure suggest on hitting them up when you can.

Ani's Bakery is probably one of those hidden gems that not many people know about. They have really good bakery products but a little on the expensive side. Their Sweet Potato Haupia Pie is pretty darn good (although the one from Diamond Head Bakery is the best, IMHO). They also have really good lunch sandwiches like ham and cheese, turkey, tuna and so forth and the bread that it's on is so soft! A lot of people rave about the butter rolls but for me, it's a little too much...like too much filling? Taro rolls and cinnamon sweet rolls are also good (you might recognize their cinnamon sweet rolls from places like Costco) and they also sell blueberry cream cheese squares that are pretty good. I couldn't give them 5 stars because their customer service is really lacking. There has not been one time I have gone in there and felt like my business has been appreciated. In fact, just a couple of months ago, my husband and I were being rung up and I had mentioned something to the lady and she never acknowledged that she heard me so I repeated myself and she snapped back with, "I heard you the first time!" Well, if you heard me the first time, you should have said something!! And now that I'm writing about it and the anger is coming back, I really want to take away another star!!! ...but I will be fair and give them a rating based on their products since it's a good bakery and so close to home.

Hubby goes crazy for the peanut butter cream rolls....I'm not nearly the fan of PB that he is but these things are delicious! They have a variety if flavors, approx $8.99/dz I think. Their sweet breads are very good, under $5, and also come in a variety of flavors. Perfect for breakfast / snacking on with coffee. Pies are also awesome, check out the sweet potato haupia. Also scored the most gigantic yummy gingerbread man just after Christmas. Carb heaven!

AAAAaaawwwww...I desperately wanted to try their plain butter sweet roll, but I just grabbed it without actually looking at the label. I just grabbed the bread that was in the plain butter section. When I went home, I discovered that I bought the cinnamon version!!! Dangit!!!!! I was deliriously pissed! It was ok...not as delightful as the lilikoi version. Not meant to be =( My kid desperately needed to pee. The girl behind the counter was nice enough to let him use their employees only bathroom. How sympathetic and kind of her....=) I'm still mad about the cinnamon mix up...but since she did that one sweet gesture, I'll forgive ani's bakery and come back. Oh ....i woulda come back regardless....these rolls are just to die for!

I visit Ani's Bakery every month or so to get my fix of guava butter cream rolls. At around $8 a tray its a pretty good deal and not to mention that it is delicious! The sweet potato haupia pie is great too! Its a little expensive but it's a good dish to bring to a potluck. Another random thing that I like to get from this bakery is the egg salad sandwiches. The bread is soo good!! Its soft and fluffy and the egg salad goes great with it. The shop is a little hidden and the parking is a little cramped.

Four words: GUAVA BUTTER CREAM ROLLS. The butter cream is the perfect balance of luscious guava flavor and sweetness, and the bread is incredibly soft. Even though Ani's sends many of their products to various retail locations, they do not sell these rolls anywhere except the bakery itself. And that's kind of why I docked them a star: The bakery is not open on Sundays. The lilikoi ones are OK but are a bit tart for my tastes. If tart is your thing, you'll want to go with that one. The problem is, now that I've tried the guava and determined that I am addicted to it, I don't know if I could ever even bother with the peanut butter, strawberry or regular butter cream. Potentially life-changing.

Me: "Where'd you get that crazy good looking pie from?" o_O Thomas (brought sweet potato haupia pie to our luncheon): "Anis' Bakeshop, their just down the street and they make realllllyyyyy good pie and baked goods, pretty much all the time." Me: "I've been living here for this long and I can't believe I've never heard about them before." Thomas: "I always get this stuff" Me: *Takes Bite* Me: "OH MY GOD" *dies* (at this point I feel like rainbows are shooting inside of my tummy) " SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO $%@#! GOOD" It's REALLY good people! I'm ashamed that it's taken me this long, for someone to have brought me a pie, to learn about Ani's. The sweet potato pie has a mac nut crust, really fluffy sweet potato filling, haupia pudding/custard, and topped with really delicious (fresh) whipping cream. Now, I've only had a pie brought to me and will have to step foot (at which point will call for an updated review) into their bakery to try from what I see my fellow yelpers have noted to be are a wide selection of other baked goods! I like their Chocolate Haupia Pie. You can get it at Costco. It is not recommended to get it without any event. As you end up eating a large amount of the pie with a small family member/s = weight gain. BTW, I found 2 duplicate addresses for this business. I put my review under Aiea as the Pie case sticker says so. YELP 365 - 157/365

There is a reason why half of the reviews for Ani's Bake Shop mentions their Butter Cream Rolls. Delicious! I've tried them all and hands down my personal favorite is the Peanut Butter Cream Rolls. I am not ashamed to admit that I ate the entire tray (12 rolls) in less than a day. No lie. It's that good! Also, if you're looking for something for lunch, their sandwiches are great. I ended up eating a pastrami sandwich and to my surprise (and enjoyment) Ani's uses sweet buns for their sandwiches. The sweetness of the bun and the flavor of the pastrami was VERY good.

I started eating Ani's sweet bread with the flavored jams by finding it in the grocery stores when visiting Hawaii in the early 90's. When I couldn't find the flavors I was looking for anymore, I looked up their bakery location. Now, unless I fly in on a Sunday, they're my first stop! Guava Sweet Bread is still my favorite. All of their pastries we've tried have been great and after reading some reviews, we tried the Okinawan Sweet Potato Haupia Pie. Extreme to say the least, but way too sweet/rich for me. Now I need to try some of those Butter Cream Rolls everyone is talking about, but I always grab more Guava Sweet Bread (and whatever other flavors they have on my visit) to bring home. Of course I'm always worried that the TSA is going to tell me one day that because of the jam filling, they're going to have to "confiscate" the goods!! So far, they've always been kind and know where I've been :) My first visit was a little challenging, but found it. Now I don't even have to use my GPS, it's like the car knows where to take me! I'll be there in a week and already drooling over some sweet bread :)

Every time we go to Hawaii we seek out Ani's sweet bread. It's sold at most groceries, and Long's, but on this trip the bake shop was a convenient stop. Ani's sweet bread is the absolute best sweet bread EVER. We've tried, (and thrown away) many others. I don't know what they do to make it so good, but it's totally craveworthy. The walk-in part of the bake shop is really small, but still offers many tempting things. We purchased a mini banana bread along with the beloved sweet bread, and it was as delicious as I expected. It's probably a good thing that they don't sell this on the mainland, I might end up gaining a bit of weight if I ate this regularly.

Honestly, I've never been here. My brother & his wife use to fly out to Hawaii quite often because she had family there. Every time they come back, they brought a sweet potato haupia pie! Oh my gosh... It's so delicious that I started craving it & would look up recipes and tried to make it myself... of course, it was a fail. This summer I'll be visiting & can't wait to shove my mouth with sweet potato haupia pie! So, so, so, so, so good!!!!!!!!! I can't wait to try their other stuff!

DEEEEEELLLLISSSHHH! The reason I gave them four stars is because one star is for location...I wish they were on my side of the island. GREAT price, GREAT taste, and GREAT customer service !

Ani's bakery really is very good. What I give them 1 star for is for that they continually run out of chocolate donuts by as early as 8 AM. Today they were out before 8:40 AM. If you sell the heck out of something why not make more? When I have mentioned to them twice that they make more, I don't think they cared at all.

We discovered Ani's a few years ago when looking for the source of the Haupia Pies we got at Costco. It's in a business area and not easy to spot, but is easy to get to. Just one turn off the highway. Only 4 parking spots, so you either have to wait for a spot to free up or hope you get lucky and find one on the street, which isn't likely. If you want to be assured of getting what you want then you must get there first thing in the morning. However, that doesn't hold true for everything. They didn't have any chocolate haupia pies made at 6am and we were told they wouldn't have those until the afternoon. There is zero customer service. No smiles and definitely not happy to see you. In fact, you are treated as though you are a pain in their side, a nuisance, and they wish you weren't bothering them. We've learned to brush it off and make them deal with our presence. It is a shame that a place with such good products cannot be a tad bit friendlier. Do wish the management would wake up and see the benefits to being more customer friendly. No, their walk-in customers are not their bread n butter, but you still need to recognize that customers are what make your business. No customers, no business. hello. That's one of the reason we love to go to Liliha Bakery, because they are happy to serve us. It's a positive experience from when you walk in to when you leave. Unlike at Ani's: you brace yourself when you walk in and then breathe a sigh of relief when you leave knowing you survived the wrath of the employees. So, why do we go to Ani's with all this negative talk on the customer no-service? The one product that makes us get up at 5 am just to make the drive over are the chocolate covered donuts. Hands down, the best we've ever had anywhere. Enough said.

I love the cream rolls! I tried the lilikoi, mango and guava. Guava was the best! The sweet potato haupia pie was to sweet for me but the crust was really good. Whipped cream on top of haupia cream on top of sweet potato. If you're in the area pick up one their sandwiches. Tuna, chicken, pastrami, ham and cheese, etc. They are made on a croissant like bread and simple but so good because the bread is so FRESH! Their baked goods are soft, fresh, fluffy! No smiles from behind the counter but the baked goods are worth it. I will be back again and again....

A wise man once said, "There is no sincerer love than the love of food." Spoken like a true foodie! I swear, if I didn't know better, I would have guessed that he uttered those words after trying Ani's butter cream rolls and their sweet potato pie (which was certainly the case for me!) If there was ever a place you seriously need to drag me out from...it's THIS bake shop! From their selection of: BUTTER CREAM ROLLS (original, guava, peanut butter, strawberry, and lilikoi) which are delicately fluffy, huge and without a doubt, the best rolls I've ever tasted! to their SWEET POTATO HAUPIA PIE which is positively out of this world (be sure to savor every bite of this blissful dessert) and CHOCOLATE COVERED LONG JOHNS (that perfect little pick-me-up treat), if I'm not careful, I'll walk out with bags and bags of treats (and finish most that day). Ani's Bake Shop is definitely a place worth trying at least once, but be warned: once you try the treats here, this will be the standard for which you judge all other rolls and pies by! (which isn't necessarily a bad thing) ;)

So my obsession with this shop started 2 years ago. My uncle brought back pie's for my fam and my cousin gave me ONE piece. She said "You can only have one piece because the rest is for me and my fiance (at the time)." I wasn't that excited because she made it sound like it wasn't all that great and it was PURPLE!!! I took my first bite... and my eyes got so big and i turned around to tell her HELL NO I NEED MORE THEN JUST ONE PIECE, but she put her hand up and didnt even want to hear me. OMG it was so velvety, rich, creamy, sweet and the crust... OH THAT CRUST!!! I was trying to eat it so slow to enjoy each bite, I was in love... it was delicious... and I couldn't wait to get my OWN PIE!!!! LOL So when I went to Oahu I kept telling my cousin... Take me to go get this pie... so she did and she had never had it... and OMG did she tear it up... she even went back when I left to go get some more. Although it is a firm $20 a pie, it is well worth each dollar spent, because its amazing. As for any other dessert, i'm not sure, but when I went they had run out of SOOOOO many desserts, so I am pretty sure that they are delicious just as their sweet potatoe haupie pie!!! OMG I WANT ONE RIGHT NOW!!!!

Oh, the last time I had Ani's was about 8 or 9 years ago when my friend used to bring me back a loaf every time she'd go home. How I miss those times when she'd always greet me with a loaf of freshly made, sweet tasting, Ani's sweet bread. And it was a plus if she got me ones with filling inside! But now times have changed and not only do I not get my bread anymore (my friend has left SF for SD), but Ani's doesn't make their strawberry-filled sweet bread in the circular pie dishes any more. Now, all filled sweet breads come in loaves (vs the pie dishes) and they only have about 4 filled sweet breads: apple and cinnamon (their top selling loaf), guava, pineapple and something and then one other flavor. In addition to their filled sweet breads, they have flavored breads such as taro, macadamian nut and several others. The shop is attached to the actual bakery and when purchasing your items, you can see the hair-netted employees working. The air inside the bake shop is so sweet and cool that I'm sure their clothes radiate sweet bread fumes. Ani's also sells other pastries as well as pies, none of which I've tried. They're located across the street from a Mauna Loa factory and about 15 min. past the airport so you can always get your fresh sweet bread before leaving Hawai'i!

We stopped here at the end of our day trip specifically to buy the Sweet Potato Haupia Pie. I had read some great reviews from my fellow Yelpers and I included this in my must try places. At $22 this pie was not only hefty in price but it was equally hefty in size. My hubby and I decided to make this our dinner. Wow this pie is fantastic, and so unique too! I have never tasted another pie like it! Creamy, smooth, nutty, rich are just some words that I can think of that describe it. I would love to take it back to the mainland for my family to try, but since it requires refrigeration I know that's not going to happen. I guess that means we will have to use the next several days of our time here to devour every last bite, it really was that good!

Ani's ROCKS! Choc/Haupia Pie was my first love of theirs til one day they ran out and I was offered the Sweet Potato/Haupia pie - it was over, I found a new love! Once in awhile I revisit my old love just to appreciate my current love even more. A little birdie told me they are going to introduce a new cookie made from that heavenly crust of the aforementioned pies - dipped in chocolate! Great now I'll be a bakery whore! BTW - their sandwiches are exquisite & come with chips and a drink! And they DO still make the Strawberry Cream Rolls! I just tried the P.B.Cream Rolls and I am thinking of eating them all before my Sweety gets home! Their jello cream cheese squares are worth mentioning because they have that mac-nut shortbread cookie crust! I am about to try the Guava Pound Cake & Blueberry Cream Cheese Squares. LUCKY ME!

I am not a bread person. When I was a kid and my mom gave me toast, baguette slices, Chinese bakery buns, etc. for breakfast while I was parked in front of the TV, I would eat a little (as much as I could stand) and then throw the rest behind the couch. Weird smells and a mice extermination program later, she stopped giving me bread for breakfast. Now that I am older and (hopefully) wiser, I have developed a certain begrudging like for soft, flavorful breads of the Asian variety. I can tolerate baguettes if I'm in France and I can enjoy the buns and rolls served at most fine finding establishments, but for the most part, bread just does NOT get my foodie senses tingling. Ani's is one big glaring exception. No Great Hawaiian Dining Odyssey would be complete without a visit here--and I'M saying that! The sweet bread is a big round circle (my favorite shape) of pillowy soft breadliness and other flavors like the coconut bread remind me of home. I don't care how much butter and fat is put into these loaves, THIS is what bread should always taste like.

Gave four because the sweet bread and the buttercream rolls are really ono, as was the lilikoi bar! Apple fritter was not very good to me, but I am partial to the one from Kam Bakery. All in all great place, with ono goods!

This place is so ono. gotta have the blue berry cheese cake. Its not too sweet or too tarty. But it has the right balance which makes it so delicious

This is no joke folks! To all my friends who are visiting the island, to my island folks who haven't tried this yet and to anyone who is reading this review, Ani's bake shop make a Haupia Sweet Potato Pie that is incredible!!! I'm putting much on it. My good friend was acting the same way when he told me about it. For a year, I just shrugged it off. But when we took the trip to their, warehouse bake shop (which looks like a garage from the outside), we paid $20 for this pie. It's a purple pie (reminds me of Ube...yum) and it has a crust that's crunchy, thick and delicious (sounds kinky). You can buy other Ani pies from the grocery store, but the Haupia Sweet Potato pie is exclusively at their bake shop. It's worth the trip to Aiea (or Oahu, depending where in the world you're reading this) and the $20. However, it's a full pie, so don't be selfish after your first bite and share that bad boy (with me)!

  • Mike C.

Easily the best pie I've had so far. Even trumps Mom's apple pie in Julian, California IMO. This place is tucked away in the industrial section of Halawa, right near H-201. Go for their Okinawan sweet potato-haupia pie, it's a bit pricy at about $24 for the pie, but it's onolicious and totally worth it, as it's pretty dense and a small slice will usually suffice. Their butter cream rolls are exceptional, I'm partial to the lilikoi ones :).

  • Dave F.

Yum!! That's how I sum it up. The custard pie is sooo good, especially when it's still warm!!! My favorite bread there is the pineapple/apricot sweet bread... There are generous amounts of filling in the bread and it is so good for breakfast!! I truly enjoy the pastries there too, make an effort and go give them a try, you'll be glad you did!!!

Just got back from one of my trips to Oahu and have found THE. BEST. DESSERT. EVER. PERIOD. Ani's Sweet Potato Haupia Pie is the best pie of all time!!! I've always known Ani's for their delicious sweet breads, so I thought I'd stop there to find a pie for a party. I bought it not even knowing how it tasted - I just asked for their most popular pie (someone else brought the same pie). And now I know why it's so popular! What makes it so great is the buttery macadamia shortbread crust, the smooth haupia, and the overall taste of the crust, sweet potato, haupia, and whipped cream that is yummy and satisfying without being too sweet (how most pies and cakes can get). At $20, the thing is pretty heavy and you get a lot. It is definitely worth it. This pie has made it to my list of things I HAVE to eat in Hawaii on any trip there!

I'm so sad. I was hiding a loaf of Ani's Apple Cinnamon sweet bread under my desk to secretly snack on when I get hungry. (I get hungry quite often, so each of my desk drawers has a stash of food in case I get too weak to open up the next compartment.) It was so perfect, so delicious, so soft and fresh . . . until I accidentally threw my 10 pound purse on top of it and smashed it flat! Now I'm eating the sad, flattened remains. It's still delicious, though. If you get a chance to try their pineapple sweet bread, that is the best flavor of all!

  • Sparkles S.

I come here quite a bit since it's really close to my house. I always ask what's good and the lady at the counter always tells me, "Everything." So I have tried everything and will tell you what I like. *Cinnamon sweet bread- to make french toast *Sweet cream rolls *Peanut butter cream rolls- I always get this for potlucks and everyone goes nuts for this one *Fruit cake drops- like fruit cake cookies. Really good, they only have it during the holiday season *An pan bread They also have sandwiches which are good but not great. And the purple sweet potato pie is always a favorite.

Butter cream rolls are absolute heaven. I usually get the Peanut Butter Rolls but one time they were out so I tried Strawberry cream rolls and they were so Delicious but pricey $9.95. I also tried melon butter bread and that was absolutely delish as well. I was lucky to stumble on Macaroons yesterday and they are the best that I've ever had. It was a bit pricey though $5.95 for 5 cookies. They also have this Delicious sweet potato pie for $19.95. I know that their goods are pricey but you get what you pay for. Your taste buds will love you.

My mouth waters whenever I think about this place. Pies are fantastic. But they make the most wonderful sweet bread rolls with cream! You have to buy a sheet of these rolls, but trust me when I say that no one can eat just one! You can eat these cream rolls for breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, and a midnight snack (cuz you'll be dreaming of them)!

2 words: SWEET BREAD! This stuff seriously puts all other bread to shame no matter what kind it is. Ani's sweet bread is by far, the best around. Sweet bread from other bakeries just doesn't cut it after you've had Ani's. The texture and taste is just perfect and not dried out like other brands can get. I can definitely kill an entire loaf by myself in one day, if you let me. The stuff makes a great snack and bomb french toast. Ani's sells other great baked goods, but if anything try the sweet bread!

One of my favorite bakeries! This place has great pies and pastries. My son loves the butter roll here. When i have guests from out of town that love long john's, I take them here.. The taste here is hard to beat. Location is a little out of the way in Halawa but if you're in the area, it is definitely worth a stop in. They are across the street from the DLS building in Halawa. Check them out!

Bottom Line: You cannot beat their Sweet Potato Haupia pie!!! Perfect Pie. Nice moist and crumbly crust with little bits of mac nut - smooth sweet potato filling topped with the best tasting haupia you're gonna find. Top that all off with some whipped cream, and you've got yourself a perfect pie. Yeah, the pie is expensive ($20) but you can't find it anywhere else. It's way bigger than Ted's bakery, and tastes better too.

Okay all of you who have submitted a review about Ani's, yes the pies are "ono" and the variety of sweet breads are delicious as well, but let me tell you what Ani's used to make in the 80's. When I went to college on the North Shore I would drive into town for the weekend and always stock up on the sweet breads to give away and then bought the most soft and buttery bread called "The Volcano". It was like a monkey bread where all the individual rolls were clumped together. The rolls were constructed like mini cinnamon rolls using buttery bread and instead of cinnamon woven in, some type of lilikoi jelly was used. If this wasn't enough, a cream cheese glaze drizzled down "The Volcano" with crushed macadamia nuts sprinkled all over. It was sooooooooo "ono"; a diabetic nightmare, but what a way to go!!!! I enquired about it and was told that there wasn't a demand for it, which I find hard to believe. What am I suppose to do? I was hoping that others would ask for it so Ani's would bring it back. So PLEASE ask for it! :-) Also, since Easter is here, Ani's makes the cutest sweet bread bunny faces and dyed egg bread braids. They are great to take to your Easter party as the rolls, or Easter gift. Beautiful presentation! Enjoy!

I havent been to the manufacturing facility in ages since you can now buy the bread at Costco but im assuming they still sell out of that location.

As a donut expert, I must say, this bakery has mastered the art of donutery. So soft, so delicious, so wickedly moist and sinfully satisfying. I may end up going to hell for eating at this bakery, the proprieter of which has clearly sold their soul for pastry godhood.

Sweet bread is so delicious and so fresh. Went to pick up several loaves of sweet and taro bread from some friends returning to the mainland. The lady at the counter was so sweet and thoughtful. Her interaction with her customers makes you feel like Aunty was offering you some homemade pastries. One of the taro bread on the counter was "crooked" so she says but I didnt mind. She exchanged it as said this one looks better, nice and straight. I appreciated her pride and care on ensuring I had a better taro bread. Crooked, smashed..it dont matter....the taro bread is sooo delicious I would eat it anyways!

Went to Ani's on the advise of other Yelpers and was once again glad I listened! We ordered the Chocolate Haupia Pie and it is heavenly! Macadamia nut crust mixed with chocolate and coconut and a delicious whipped cream.....ah jeez, I think I gained 5 lbs just looking at it!! If there is one thing you buy while on Oahu, it should be one of these pies!

If you've gotten one of Ani's yummy pies at Costco and love it, stop by their bake shop to buy other varieties! The selection is ever-changing and every pie is delicious (trust me, we have tried them all....) Call ahead to find out what's available and reserve yours - you'll be making regular stops there! Also available are non-refrigerated pies but call for the day's selection. My mom likes the Sweet Bread, which comes in round loaves or traditional loaves (for the toaster!). The cinnamon bread and apple breads are really tasty and they have a huge array of daily home-baked pastry and donuts including croissants made right there. The shop is small and you'll be surprised when you see it - the storefront is very modest, but packed with delicious goodies. The people are super-friendly and it's open early and late!

No inferior donuts here, the donuts here are gigantic. So big that they don't come in a standard donut box. If I eat one of Ani's donuts in the morning, I end up eating a light lunch. They're that big.

I brought a haupia sweet potato pie for a family gathering and everyone loved it!! I also brought Ani butter cream rolls which are super soft melt in your mouth goodness to everyone's pleasure at another occasion. I ate their Christmas fruitcake and WOW they just don't know how to screw up baked goods! It was moist with perfect balance or nuts, fruits, cake, and spice. Besides the great bakery items, the staff are all incredibly friendly...oh and prices are extremely reasonable!!

I went to this bakery because I had read all the good reviews. I bought the sweet potato haupia pie and sweet bread. I have to say I'm in love! Besides the amazing bread in Puerto Rico this is the best bread I have ever tried. My husband and my son agreed. As for the pie, which I had to share with a friend cuz it is super deep dish, it was delicious! I am so picky when it comes to pies. I had pie in Anna Miller's and didn't think it was anything special but this pie was something else. It's a must when you come to visit the island or before u leave. I have already gone back several times in the last couple of weeks and have told all of my friends about it. Can't wait to try more things. I'm officially hooked!

The BEST place to get anything made with sweet bread. They have humongus pastries also. A little on the pricey side but definately worth it. WARNING: The peanut butter cream rolls are to die for, but they don't just have peanut butter, they have strawberry, guava, butter cream, and lilikoi! Don't take my word for it, try it yourself, I bet you won't be able to eat just one!

I don't even know where to start for this review. We ordered the apple cinnamon and pineapple sweet bread, cinnamon rolls, and chocolate covered donuts. The cinnamon rolls were the best I have ever had! Also, the apple bread just came out of the oven when we got there. It was the freshest bread ever. I wish there was a bakery this good where I live!

I love Ani's Bake Shop! I've been going here for about 5 years now and one of my favorite things is that is consistant. They have the same counter help, very helpful and nice. They quality of their baked goods, always the best! If you haven't had their banana bread or butter cream rolls, you are missing out!! They are so delicious and not overly sweet, seriously just right, made to perfection! You can buy pastries here as well. It is a great take to your morning office staff, or to get for home. We do both! :) If you want the best selection, get there early when they open, 6am. Ani's pies you can find at many local gorcery stores. Are they good, yes! However, if you want the freshest, go to the bakery and get them.

Whatchu talkin' 'bout Willis?! Ani's has a bakeshop open to the public? You mean I can go straight to the source instead of going to Sam's Club and our local grocery stores for their baked goods? Well it's not too often that I venture to Halawa's industrial area so I had no idea about the bakery being open to the public. The bakeshop is practically a cubby hole, tucked away in Halawa, right next door to Mauna Loa. They have a couple of parking stalls right in front of the entrance. Their space is tiny, yes. However, whenever I walk in, I'm overwhelmed at how packed their little shop is with buns, loaves, pastries, sandwiches, and a bunch of other sugar-filled snacks. Ani's is well-known for their sweet bread, cream-filled rolls, pies, and pound cake. The cream-filled rolls are sold by the tray. I don't remember exactly how much rolls come on a tray but it makes a nice sweet treat to bring to potlucks and you can choose from a variety of flavors-peanut butter, lilikoi, strawberry, etc. Yes, Ani's desserts are to die for but that's not all she has to offer. After picking out some baked goods, I usually leave there with a sandwich combo as well. Premade sandwiches are available in the fridge next to the counter. Tuna salad, egg salad, chicken and pastrami sandwiches are available-all stuffed on a huge sweet bun. The bun tastes just like the sweet bread they make. When you purchase a sandwich, it comes with a small bag of chips. At less than 5 bucks for a huge sandwich and chips, I can't complain. So lately, when I feel like indulging in Ani's baked goods-I skip the local grocery store chain and go straight to the source for a larger variety of choices and I can get them in bulk. That's pretty much what Willis was talkin' 'bout!

Besides the convenience of being close to were I live and work, this has become the go to bakery when I need to satisfy my sweet and fat tooth. The original butter cream rolls is hands down the winner at this bakery. The other flavors rock also; my second buttery goodness picks are usually the guava, and peanut butter. The sweet potato pie is another local favorite that is a must try, mmmm... i'm getting hungry just thinking about these two desserts. Order in advance for holidays because it's def a crowd pleaser. I always have to pick up the guava chiffon roll too. It's also a great place to grab that last minute sandwich for lunch!

I have only ever tried the butter cream and peanutbutter butter cream rolls.... and let me say that they were SO freaking amazing that I've never gotten anything else. I always plan on trying the other wonderful looking treats, but the peanut butter cream rolls just sit there, staring at me.... softly calling my name and begging me to buy them. I'm so weak.... I give in every single time.

This place should have a sign over the door saying "Abandon Hope All Ye Who Enter..." If you don't like pastries or are on a diet to lose weight, you may want to look at another review. Ani's is the last place in the world you would want to visit. Okay, now that those folks are gone, let's talk about one of my favorite bake shops. Located almost smack dab on the corner of Iwaena and Iwaiwa (I know, go figure...who names these streets anyway?) there's a small store with 6 slots with a sign saying "Ani's Bake Shop". Now if you're lucky you'll find the bake shop and if it's open, you've hit paydirt! Once you enter the bake shop, there's a wonderful smell of fresh bread and pastries. Depending on the time of the day, the smell will change slightly. Their display case is full of donuts, twists, brownies, muffins, cupcakes to tempt any palate. Their refrigerated case usually has fresh sandwiches and the rest of the store has racks with cookies, breads (Ani's famous blueberry bread), cakes and their buttered rolls. Now before I describe the rolls, let me say at Ani's, the early bird does get the worm. Those who take the time to visit when they first open will have first pick of that day's goodies. it was about 2 years before I knew they made a ham and mayonnaise danish or hot dog rolls. Why? Because when I visited in the afternoon, they were all sold out. BTW to add to the excitement unlike other shops, there is no list of what they carry. So you snooze, you lose. But back to the buttered rolls. I don't know what genius baker at Ani's figured it out but they take freshly made sweetbread rolls, split them in half and spread whipped butter then pop the top back on. It's a wonderful treat and the whipped butter comes in different flavors like mango, lilikoi, passion fruit, or my favorite strawberry cream. Once again it was several years before I tried the lychee because (yup, you caught on) the rolls were gone by the time I came. The clerks are great and will quickly assemble your order. Upon request, they can pack your goodies to hand-carry on interisland flights. I don't tell friends on Outer Islands about all the goodies Ani's carries because lugging 50 pounds of pastries isn't my idea of fun. Holidays are also special at Ani's and they'll make Christmas trees out of sweetbread or teddy bears. Again, you snooze, you lose. Fortunately I work up the street so rather than buy my Ani's from Longs, I just stop off going to or from work, depending on what I'm looking for. C'mon by and visit Ani's today! (Now for you folks who don't like pastries or or a diet, if you've read this far, you may as well stop on by as well. It's worth the effort!)

Tried the Strawberry Butter Cream Rolls and they are fantastic! They were about eight dollars per pack of twelve and that makes it much less than a dollar each! The quality of the cream and the sweet roll together was like tasting a favorite memory.

You know that saying " The early bird gets the worm"? well, it's definitely true at Ani's! I'm not an early bird, but if the craving for Ani's rolls kick in... well, let's just say I will set 3 alarms to make sure I wake up! Peanut butter rolls are my fave.... warmed with vanilla ice cream... perfect gifts to bring with you, making you everyone's new best friend!

Stopped by here with a friend last month and it was really tasty! A note to anyone looking for this place, its in an industrial warehouse-looking area and the sign is in red script (my friend and I were definitely driving around a bit - silly us). This isn't really a place you'd sit down and have a coffee and is a little pricier than your average bakery, but the baked goods are delicious. Swing by on your way home or if you're taking something to a party. We tried a few things: Lilikois bar - seriously delicious. We were recommended to have it with coffee which is an excellent recommendation because the coffee cuts the richness to a perfect level (well depending on how you drink your coffee!). It wasn't overpoweringly sweet and had that delicious tartness! Cinnamon bun - we liked this, but there were a lot of raisins on the inside, a deceptively large amount, which we weren't a huge fan of. The bun itself was really tasty and fluffy blueberry/oat bar - I'm such a sucker for stuff like this and it did not disappoint! Very tasty! lots of natural sweetness from the blueberries. It was definitely richer than I thought it was going to be.

I am very upset that it is not until my final week in Hawaii that I discover this amazing bakery. Located up in Halawa, this shop has barely any standing room inside the entrance. Packed around you are shelves, racks and refrigerated displays with far too many great options. I was sad to see that there was no sweet potato haupia cake left when I got there, because even though I'm not even a fan of sweet potato, I see so many people rave about it that I wanted to try it anyways. I was quite happy with the items I ordered though, which included mango cream pie, lychee sweet cream rolls and lilikoi poundcake. All of them were excellent and I was especially fond of the lychee rolls. Overall, this is definitely my favorite bakery on the island and I think it is "as good as it gets".

Stopped by Ani's before going to AMR for bls recertification next door and was pleasantly surprised to see that they make poi malasadas! We bought a few of these and a package of the lilikoi butter cream rolls. They also sell a bunch of other things that you can't find in grocery stores. I personally prefer Ani's poi malasadas over the famous Kam Bakery poi donuts because they are much less oily and taste like a delicious glazed taro roll. The lilikoi butter cream rolls have a tasty sweet lilikoi cream in the middle of a soft, moist roll. I think these would make for a good omiyage since they come wrapped up in a pack of 12. Overall, good service, good prices, and yummy goodies.

Their sweet potato haupia pie with mac nut crust is out of this world. The best pie I've ever had period. Probably also my favorite dessert on this island and maybe ever.

Ani's Bake Shop is a small bakery making amazing pies, fresh breads and pastries. It's out of the way in Halawa, the prices are on the high side, but the baked goods will keep you coming back for more. I make the trip for the Haupia Sweet Potato Pie. There is a perfect crunchy, buttery, macadamia nut crust; thick, rich, sweet potato filling; smooth, creamy haupia; and whipped cream topping. Even with my sweet tooth, I can only have a sliver at a time because it's so rich. I also make sure to grab some Butter Cream Rolls, they're not too sweet, soft and buttery, perfect toasted for breakfast; and some Sweet Bread for peanut butter banana sandwiches and French toast. Ani's breads are carried by various retail outlets, but you can only get the pastries and most of the pies directly from Ani's, so make the trip, it won't be your last!

My brother first told me about Ani's mythical "Okinawan Sweet Potato Haupia Pie", and I often wondered, "How the hell can sweet potato pie be that great?!?!?"... Man, was I completely wrong!! Ani's Okinawan Sweet Potato Haupia Pie, hands down, is my favorite pie you can find in Oahu, and quite possibly my favorite dessert dish EVER!! But as far as I know, you can't find this dessert in the grocery stores like their tasty Chocolate Haupia Pie. The ONLY place you can get the Okinawan Sweet Potato Haupia Pie, is at their bake shop on 99840 Iwaiwa Street, and you need to go there EARLY!! Everytime I have gone, there are at least a dozen people ahead of me in line. I haven't tried anything else yet, but heard lots of good things about everything else. But if you're looking for the perfect dessert, don't look further than Ani's Okinawan Sweet Potato Haupia Pie... IT IS TO DIE FOR!!

5 stars for the buttercream rolls. So soft, fresh & addicting. There are other flavors to choose from, but this one is my fave. Simple but so ono!

The butter cream rolls are amazing! I literally trek half a dozen packages back to Ohio for me parents, family and friends to enjoy. That's 16 hours of travel for rolls... They are that good.

I consider this bakery a hidden gem. Ani's guava butter cream rolls are the best. The rolls are fluffy and the cream in the center is sweet and buttery. Ever since I discovered them, I've been going back at least twice a month. My top pick is guava but lilikoi and mango are also very good. The butter cream rolls are only sold here and you can't find it in any stores. They also sell other baked goods such as sweet bread, pies, and pastries. They have 4 parking stalls in front of the shop and it's usually not busy. But if they do fill up, you can park on the street. I highly recommend coming here to pick up a dozen (only sold by the dozen) of the rolls. You won't regret it.

Banana bread and cream rolls are the best! Can't wait to try the poi malasadas. Get it fresh at their shop and more selection than what other stores are offering.

Just want to add that I have now tried their Peanutbutter butter rolls, cinnamon butter rolls, guava butter rolls, guava loaf and sweet rolls and I can honestly say I have NEVER been disappointed with a purchase here. On a separate occasion I tried the tuna salad sandwich for lunch and it was truly divine! Great fresh tuna salad between some sweet fluffy bread! Filling and delicious. My only wish now was that this bake shop was closer.........but that might be dangerous.

Ani's is kind of in a warehouse area and doesn't have any eating area or seating, though there is a park across the street. What it does have is amazing baked goods. Ani's is probably my favorite bakery ever. I've been visiting for years now and haven't had anything from here that I didn't like. My favorite items are the glazed doughnuts, long johns, and chocolate eclairs - the pastry and cream filling is great! My sister is a fan of their butter rolls and apple fritters. I recently noticed a lot of reviews mentioning the Haupia Sweet Potato Pie and had to give it a try. I had never even heard of it before and it was a little pricey, but it was delicious. Also, if you want something that'll last a few days, the sweet bread is really good and travels well - I pack a couple of loaves in my suitcase all of the time.

A little on the pricey side but I love their blueberry muffins and the cranberry orange muffins. The cran orange is sweeter than the blueberry.

This place knows how to bake! You will not be disappointed. Their baked goods are the kind that don't need to look pretty or have a ton of special ingredients packed on top to make it good. It tastes amazing! I went to Hawaii two summers ago and when we went to the grocery store we bought 5 bags of this bread! We got the cinnamon and original because they are bomb!! We were there for about a week and we finished them all! All of them were soft, sweet, and a great go-to snack! This past summer I actually came to this shop and they had a ton of different items besides the bread that's sold in the grocery stores. It smelled heavenly from outside the store, which is always a good sign. They had all kinds of flavors too like taro and guava. I tried both their guava and taro breads but I thought the original and cinnamon were better. But hey, can't blame them for trying because those flavors are not common. Most of the time you have to go to Asian markets or cafes for those. So basically come here or at least buy their brand in the market and you will be satisfied and addicted! I will be back in the future to try more.

The Butter cream rolls are to die for!!! The bread is soooo soft and the butter just tops it off to be a perfect yummy roll. I've had the guava and coconut so far and both were really good. The glazed donuts were really good too much better than the average I'm used to eating. I came in around 830 in the morning and they had plenty of roll flavors to pick from, and the girl helping me was really patient with me since It was my first time and I wanted everything!!! But the service was really good and I will be back next time I'm in the area. Here's a tip too... You can special order monkey bread. My dad has had it and said it was to die for. Great little bakery! (and I mean little)
