Mellow mushroom will definitely be my pick for pizza. As a child from the 80's/90's it definitely brings back the memories of Friday pizza nights and blockbusters!

Really Good Pizza at the Vinings Mellow Mushroom. We ordered a large 1/2 Mushroom & 1/2 Pepperoni and everybody loved it. Just the right amount of toppings and the crust was delicious. The small Greek Salad was big enough for 2 and was really good.

Let's start of by saying I LOVE MELLOW MUSHROOM!!!!!! My sister turned me on to this pizza joint. And it's been down I'll from there "in a good way of course". This location is close to my house and I always choose Mellow Mushroom for when it's my turn to bring something for the office at work. That's if everyone wants pizza. This location always has a welcome home feeling. They quickly greet you as you come through the door and maintain that hospitality through out your visit. I love that. So if your in the area a dying for great pizza and good service come to MELLOW MUSHROOM.

Came here Sat after the Georgia game to grab something to eat and catch some of the FSU/ND game. When we came in all the TV's were on another game I asked the server if we could change one. They did no problem. We got bruschetta bread as an appetizer. It has a lot...a Lot of tomatoes but since I love them it was pretty good. If you don't tell them to go easy. We split a pepperoni pizza it was delicious as usual. The food came quick and the server was very pleasant. Pizza is my fav food. I'm looking forward to going back. Parking is free. Sometimes it gets packed because they share with the surrounding restaurants.

Service was great for my to go order. The hair I found in my marinara sauce ruined my meal though!

Oh my goodness. This pizza is sooo good. Hubs and I just dropped by here for the first time for their 40th bday celebration. You would think that quality would be lacking with so many people being waited on but it was spot on. I had the small cheese pizza and hubs had sausage. Surprisingly, the cheese was better than the sausage. We both ate 2 of the 4 slices on our pizza so next time we'll just order a small to share. Anyway, can't wait to eat leftovers. We will definitely be back. We have finally found our pizza joint! *Bonus* We accidentally left our carry out boxes on the table and once we realized that we forgot them I ran (yes, ran) back in to see that they had been removed from the table. Our waiter apologized saying they must have been thrown away, only for me to see that they were sitting up front marked table 20. Kudos to the person who used common sense and put them aside for us instead of throwing them away! Made my night.

Drew and I were in search of a good neighborhood pizza joint. However, Mellow Mushroom is not it. I was craving pizza...great pizza. We dined in the "Key West room" and ordered a Greek salad and a custom pizza. Our server was Toby who was not very knowledgeable about the beer selection and did not offer a drink menu. I did ask about a Heineken but was told that Heineken was discontinued. (How can this be?? Everyone has Heineken!!) We ended up ordering a Coke for each of us. Drew is not a drinker anyway. The Greek salad was awesome. Drew even like the salad. No, he's not a salad eater either. Not normally. The pizza was served and it looked awesome. However, it looked better than it tasted. I've had better in this area. The pizza was just average. I will go back. But this time I may order a specialty pizza or even a calzone. The location of this place is so convenient. I'm determined to make it work for something.

I haven't been here in a few years. ....why did I forget how good there greek salad is so darn good! Yummy. I got the veggie pizza then added some premium all natural antibiotic free grilled chicken to it!! Sooooo yummy!! Sometimes they don't put enough marinara sauce on it ... Becky over at the bar takes excellent care of you. I didnt even have an alcoholic beverages and she kept my root beer topped off like it was a real brew. Super nice chic!

I love Mellow Mushroom. Their pizzas are delicious, their buttery, parmesan-y crust is amazing, they have great salads, and the pretzels are excellent. I like their beer selection: medium sized, but good choices. I never turn them down. However, this location is just not clean. The tables, floors, and seats always feel dirty, and most recently, my wife and I were swamped with fruit flies to the point that we finished as quickly as possible just to get out. As much as I love the chain, I'm not sure if we'll be coming back to this location soon.

The pizza cheese tasted a tad bit off. The pretzel shaped bread was good. Service was spotty and slow at best.

Interesting place. Large menu with good food and an atmosphere that reminds me of the college days - think tie dye. The room is slightly psychedelic and the recessed lighting under the bar changes color. Cool man. Even the menu layout lines up with the schtick, for example there are "mellow munchies" and the "up in smoke" specials. I had the enlightened salad and added the optional applewood smoked bacon. The salad was delicious with pear, caddied pecans, dried cherries, feta and spinach. Great mix. I was disappointed in the added bacon. They were not crispy, instead they were limp chewy strips. Have the salad but skip the bacon. Next I had the holy shitake pizza. It had caramelized onion, truffle cream sauce, mushroom, parmesan and a garlic aioli. it was pretty good but lacked many mushrooms. if you order it ask for extra mushrooms. For dessert, I ordered the peanut butter cookie with Reece's peanut butter cup chunks. Taste just like it sounds. and it was served super warm! All in all, this is a fine place that would be well served opening branches in Denver, CO, and Seattle, WA.

I've had carry out before but tonight we ate in the restaurant. It was good and the service was good. We came with our 2 year old for an early dinner but I could tell this would be a fun place for a group to hang out at night. I'd definitely come again.

Must have Mellow Mushroom when I am in Vinings. It reminds me of my childhood. Best pizza hands down, and I can't get it in California. The dough is the right combination of crispy and chewy, and the cornmeal and Parmesan dusting are that certain "je ne sais quoi" that makes all others pizzas pale in comparison. I won't tell you what to get. It's your job to explore. But if your curious, I'm ordering the Cosmic Karma right now!

Best pizzeria chain in Atlanta. Fresh salads. Great sandwiches. Yummy signature pizzas with a buttery, chewy crust. Oversized soft pretzels. Consistently good.

I have been to many Mellow Mushroom locations all over the country and I have not been disappointed from a food quality standpoint. This particular location in the Atlanta area is the most recent I have been to and although the food was great as aways, the service was less than acceptable. Our waitress seemed to be bored and annoyed everytime she came up to us and although we received our food promptly she just had a horrible attitude the whole time. I wouldn't say this one experience was awful enough to never go to Mellow Mushroom again though so overall I would recommend it to friend!

I've always loved Mellow Mushroom. When I crave pizza, I don't crave any of that fancy Antico stuff, I crave cheap, greasy delivery pizza. I feel like Mellow is a step-and-a-half up from cheap delivery, yet still not that fancy pretentious stuff. I love the range of toppings, the atmosphere of the restaurant, and the amazing garlicky-buttery crust. This Mellow isn't my favorite location, but it's the closest one and it tends not to be too crazy. I tend to load my pizza up with an array of veggies, olive oil base, and some stinky cheese. YUM!!! Y'all can take your fancy schmancy pizza, I'll stick with the cheap greasy stuff!

Pizza is decent and the atmosphere has its appeal-- Just not my thing. Beer selection could be better. Not bad, but not worth the price either.

It's no Antico, but it's a really good pizza and I've never had bad service. The spinach salad is delicious, too (and I'm a guy who doesn't eat many salads).

Fresh hot pizza. For a girl from the northeast it's a win! Service was a little slow but the pizza was perfect. I would recommend to any out of towners.

First pizza experience in Atlanta and I was not disappointed. Delicious pizza, and I didnt have to wait long to pick up my take out order. Next time I will sit down and enjoy the atmostphere.

4 stars: Yay! I'm a fan. I really like the pizza at Mellow Mushroom. What does it for me is the cheese on the crust. This is a good location. Kind of tucked away, and never super busy. This is a major plus because for some reason some Mellow Mushrooms are always a cluster to get in and out of. They have a neat little area in the back with raised booths and good views of the TVs. Makes for a nice quiet spot to watch a game, have some pizza and cold beers.

the best mellow mushroom there is. period. i love this place like I've always loved mellow mushroom. but this place has it all. location is awesome. service is awesome almost every time. really great pies. but you have to get the meatball sub. and it won't break the bank for dinner

Mellow Mushrooms are consistently good pizza across the board. While it is still a chain, they deliver good service, good food and bev and a good atmosphere. A little "family oriented" for me overall, they always have the best patio spaces. You know you are gonna get a good meal with a smile, isn't that what matters most? The MM on Roswell in Sandy Springs has a nice new location and the one here in Vinings is in a great locale near all the shops in the Village...great for the weekend loafer. My only bone to pick with them is their refusal to deliver locally?

Best pizza I've had since leaving Chicago two years ago. I need more, but unfortunately, I'd have to travel from DC to Charlottesvile, VA to get my fix. However, my introduction to Mellow Mushroom in Atlanta was all I needed to get hooked. I had the Gourmet White pizza with pesto added. It was soooo good. Even my beau, who hates pesto, enjoyed this pizza. The sun-dried tomatoes combined with the fresh roma tomatoes and the three cheese combination of provolone, mozzarella and feta made for a wonderfully fresh and flavorful pizza. The pesto was an awesome added condiment. I'm curious now of how the Kosmic Karma would stand up to it given that it only comes with feta cheese. My only complaint of this particular location were the flies. There were too many of them for my comfort buzzing around the cashier / kitchen area. Luckily, they were absent from my pizza. ;)

This place is cute. Had spinach salad. Delicious. Hubby had pizza. Oddly disappointing. Would go back to retry though. Maybe it was just a fluke.

Any MM deserves at least four stars--the pizza is good. That being said, I don't think any chain, regardless of tastiness, should be getting away with charging $20+ for a large pizza. Let's get serious here: pizza dough, marinara, cheese, meat and veggies. We're not talking sliced ribeye and Greek olives either. And when you can throw together any salad cross-utilizing pizza toppings, why should it be so expensive? While the pizza is most certainly good, it's just as satisfying for me to visit the many other pizza joints that charge a more reasonable price. If money is not an object, than do it--it's a fun and cool atmosphere and hey, the pizza is good.

Had lunch here today... the steak & cheese sandwich is YUMMY! I added bacon to it, but probably wouldn't next time. The bacon was not cooked enough for my liking (I like it practically burnt!) The french bread is definately the way to go with this sandwich (you have the choice of wheat bread also!) I've had the pizza & pretzels at previous times and they are both good also!

Our little family of 4 is vegan so we were ecstatic to learn that MM now serves Daiya vegan cheese and even has gluten-free crust. I believe all the locations now offer Daiya as an option. Love that restaurants are listening to clientele and broadening the menu options above and beyond meat and more meat.

By far the best pizza ever. I am a huge fan of Mellow Mushroom, this particular location is great for lunch. Overall the pizza is great, the staff is cool also. Wish there were more TV's available though.

Superfresh ingredients used on all pizzas. The salads are just okay - but that's par for the course for a pizza restaurant. They have a good variety of pizzas and the crust is tasty. Definitely not New York style, but all around good pizza.

  • Jen K.

It's not bad but not great. I'm from the northeast so I prefer NY style pizza. This is definitely not that kind of pizza. But if you like a thicker crust, it's decent pizza (especially for the area). I think they use good quality ingrediants so at least it has that going on.

Of all foods, pizza is my favorite. And of all "chain" pizza places, Mellow Mushroom is my favorite... probably because it never feels like a chain pizza place. It seems that all Mellow Mushrooms each have their own unique feel and the one in Vinings is no different. The location in Vinings is tucked away from the traffic behind the Vinings shopping area and has a rather large patio. The servers are cool and the pizza is tasty.

I love pizza. I love leftover pizza from the day before. The first time I got a pizza from Mellow Mushroom (about a year ago), I let it sit out overnight thereby making it inedible leftovers and now I remember why. I decided to give the place another try. I am not a Southern native and being from a part of the country where people bring many different cultures, traditions, and foods, I have probably been spoiled by great pizza. Every pizza place I've ever had has something special about it that makes you want to go back. Mellow Mushroom has nothing that makes me want to go back again. The crust is a super thick, sweet pretzel bread and that's about all I can say. The sauce? I don't know, I couldn't taste it. The toppings? Well, don't all pizzas have toppings? the things that make a pizza successful and unique are usually a great crust and a sauce that tastes fresh or spicy or whatever. The only good thing about this pizza is that it was super cheap, but Digiorno for One would have been much cheaper. I am a pretty tough critic and I know Mellow Mushroom has other menu items, but if the word pizza is in the title of the restaurant, I expect better. Papa John has never let me down...

I called a week ago for a donation for a non-profit organization and they were so kind in agreeing. When I called back, the manager I spoke with denied ever having agreed to donating and was incredibly rude! When I asked if she had their corporate number she said yes and then made me ask her to give it to her! I have never dealt with such horrible customer service in my life. I had been somewhat of a fan of the place before but will not go back ever again.

Really great pizzas, one of the best local chains in Atlanta! They have good basic pizzas, but awesome gourmet pizzas as well! Plus they have good beer specials weekly!

Real hippie place. Veg friendly. I ordered the house special but particularly didn't like it. I may go to cater to some of my veggie friends, but personally I would not go back. If you do go I recommend sticking to the veg pizzas like the Magic Mystery Tour. Peace

The staff maybe "cool" and all, but coolness is a complete waste of time when they're so cool (i.e. stoned) they forget to cook your order. Today at 3:00pm I placed an order for a simple medium Hawaiian Pizza and a half order of pretzles. I was told 30 minutes. 30 minutes later, I'm walking into the almost totally empty restaurant to find they haven't even BEGUN to cook my order. They say they "forgot." Then they go to ring it up and fire it immediately and DO NOT OFFER ANY KIND OF DISCOUNT on the pizza.

I've been to a few other Mellow Mushroom restaurants in Atlanta however this is the one I prefer. Fast/friendly service and excellent pizza. It's usually busy so try to get there before 7PM.
