First time at O'Charleys and all I can say is the service you receive at any establishment can make or break you. I went in with my Dad, Wife, and sister to have dinner. We all ordered our drinks, I got a water, my dad got a Arnold Palmer and my sister and my wife got a strawberry lemonade. My Dad and I received our drinks first while they waited about 10 minutes. We also ordered and appetizer which was chili cheese nachos with fresh jalapeños, salsa and sour cream. Keep in mind these nachos were on the spicy side and they were still waiting on their drinks. For my dinner I decided on chicken Cajun pasta that also had peppers and onions in it. I also ordered a side of loaded bake potato soup that was really good. The pasta was good, but my ice water was empty the entire meal. If I wasn't used to eating spicy foods there would have been a problem. The server decided to bring me a refill right before she brought me our check. My sister said her meal was good which was chicken tenders and fries. My dad ordered fish and chips and was unhappy about the size of the fish and my wife order a half rack of ribs with a loaded bake potato and asparagus. My meal was good besides the fact I had nothing to drink. After our server brought us our check we waited at least 20 minutes for her to return so my sister didn't even bother asking for a to go box in fear of not seeing her again. UPDATE: I was contacted by management and the apologized for the service that I received and wanted to make it right assuring me this was not how they did business. We went back in today and had far better superior service them before and the food was also very good. I would like to thank O'Charleys for showing us what their establishment is all about!

I don't usually go to chain restaurants, but my friend is a picky eater and he said he was able to find something on the online menu he could eat. :-/ O'Charley's it is. They close at 10pm during the week, but we arrived close to 9:30pm and didn't receive any slack about it. Not that I was worried, but my friend was. There were actually plenty of folks there at the time and more came in after us. Apparently, this is a happening spot at night in Tucker. Service was quite slow this evening as our server was preoccupied with a larger party. To be honest, it was quite annoying. I don't know how many times she told us she was going to bring us our bread. Shoot, we got our bread not long before we got our meal. She was also a bit slow to refill drinks. The bread was decent. Nothing like Texas Roadhouse though. Mmm, yum. I ordered the honey fried chicken. Got it with smashed potatoes and coleslaw. And since my friend didn't want any sides, I took it upon myself to get hush puppies on his behalf. For me. :-) The smashed potatoes were not hot enough and weren't that great. The coleslaw was decent. The hush puppies were horrible. Thank God I didn't pay extra for them. The honey fried chicken was pretty good. Note that it is actually boneless chicken breast. I was expecting a real piece of bone-in chicken. I guess that's too much to expect from O'Charley's. I don't typically eat in this side of town so I think I am safe from a return visit.

The absolute worst service ever!!!!! Wish I could give half a star. Bush our waiter with 5 years experience sucks. Came to dine with my family for my father's birthday. We waited forever for each thing to come out when the restaurant was not at all busy. Terrible service, and the only reason I left a great tip is because I worked in the service industry. Someone needs retraining

My review: It's an O'Charley's. Take that for what it is worth.

I don't think I could give them more than 3 stars, EVER. It's an ordinary chain restaurant, that's it! So, from that reference, it's a 5 star review!! Well, not really. We went here because we got a gift card and figured why not. We were seated immediately and we put in a section that had no one else in it. I thought it was kinda odd but oh well. Maybe that means exclusive service for us! Service was good, maybe because of the above but I really had no complaints. Our waitress was nice and came by often to check on us. The food took a little bit longer that I would have liked but it wasn't excessive. I had the philly with a caesar salad and my fiance had the fried chicken sandwich. We were both pretty impressed. The meat for the philly was damn good! It was not a traditional philly but I liked it. So much stuff I had to keep scooping it back on the sandwich...YES! Salad was just ok...overall, food was pretty damn good!! I would come back here Not my first choice but it works.

Friendly people and good service but I expected more of the food ... not even the caliber of Outback or Chilis ... more like Shoneys or Golden Carrol.

On the one hand, I don't have very high expectations for a place like O'Charleys. I expected a run-of-the-mill experience with the kind of run-of-the-mill food one finds at these overly corporate, sprawl-inducing establishments. And indeed, it was a run-of-the-mill experience. But the thing that knocks my rating down to two stars wasn't the burger that sat under a heat lamp for too long. It wasn't the soft rolls that were kind of blah. It was the very long waits between the time we ever got to see our server. I know the restaurant is busy, and I know our server was working hard, but something is amiss when I have to wait 15 min between salad and entrée, and another 15 between paying for the meal and getting my change. Meh. I won't look forward to going back.

It's local and usually order burgers and fries, I haven't ventured out past that. The WildWest Burger is very good, and I love the horseradish sauce that comes with it. Beyond that they rank up there with Applebee's or Cracker Barrel. The service can be hit or miss, but always friendly .

Came here for dinner. Yeast rolls were warm and served with butter. My friend and I ordered the Cowboy Sirloin dinner with 6oz sirloin, loaded smashed potatoes, house salads and dessert. The steak and loaded smashed potatoes were seasoned well. Our waitress and the manager were nice and took care of us. The apple pie and pecan pie slices for dessert were actually quite large. Thanks a lot O'Charleys!

In a word: awful. The place reeks of smelly carpet that my kids noticed as soon as we were seated. We were given glasses of water with "stuff" floating in them. Cleaner water was given after a complaint. When our server initially approached out table, he asked how we were and naturally I said, "Fine, and you?" He told me he was "having a bad day and had been better." Maybe it's just me, but when you're in a service industry, you do NOT tell your customers you're having a bad day - keep it to yourself because after that I can't trust you. He was true to his word because he brought us dirty plates for our shared appetizer. A credit to the cook (NOT calling him/her a chef!), the food was not horrible. Steak was cooked medium, my kids received nice sized portions. I did tell the manager, Lee Williams, about the water & plates, and he was cordial enough, but didn't seem surprised. All in all, we won't be back.

Place was pretty empty so we got seated right away at lunch time on a Saturday. Hostess and waitress were friendly; I've noticed a special attention paid to customers at all of the O'Charley's lately. The rolls were amazing so it's no surprising that's one of their selling points to get you in there. I had the California something-or-other salad with grilled chicken, strawberries, mandarin oranges, pecans, and balsamic dressing. I thought it was pretty good, but it would be hard to go wrong with that.

While I have encountered worse, O'Charley's was really bad. If a place is only famous for it's rolls...well, that should be a clue. The service was very slow. With a restaurant as empty as they were on a Sunday morning, I should not need to look around for a server. Even though the server was very nice and pleasant when at the table, it was rare that we saw her at the table. As far as the food...it's difficult to mess up breakfast/brunch, but the cooks at O'Charley's managed to do so. I ordered the brunch platter... The eggs were rubbery. I would not be surprised if they were powered. The sirloin was ordered medium rare...I received a medium well piece of shoe leather. I did not ask for a recook, because I could not find the server and I did not want to wait another 20 minutes to receive my meal. The pancakes were harder to cut than the MEDIUM WELL steak! I had difficulty cutting PANCAKES with a STEAK KNIFE!! In any other situation, I would have ask for a new meal and would have spoken with a manger. Today, I was with a friend and I was too hungry to really care. We were in a hurry and causing a scene was not something I could have afforded, time-wise, to do. All in all, I will NEVER patronize this O'Charley's again...nor will I patronize ANY other O'Charley's. I strongly urge you to do the same. Unless you are dying of hunger, drive on...there are too many other options in food. Their rolls are just not worth it!!

Not a restaurant / bar that I would normally hang out at, but due to some CERT training that I was taking nearby, it was the only option at 9:30pm. First, the good news. The beer is cheap! You get a large mug of it for less than $3. Basic selection of mostly American beers on tab, but it was okay. The not-so-good news. The menu is one that you would find in any TGI Fridays, Houlihans, etc. Nothing new or different. The service was also very slow. Luckily I was just on a liquid diet that night--and I was paying with cash. Oh, well. At least there was space at the bar for me.

The tagline above our seats was "Here, Everyone Is A Regular". . . Except me, cause I'm never coming back! I pass this place all the time on the way to workout at LA Fitness right next door. Being located across the street from the abysmal Twisted Taco, I had hoped the curse had not traveled far. I was wrong. We were greeted and sat behind the bar area and even sitting down noticed the tables were raised a bit too high for comfort. Started off ordering a beer and two waters. Waters arrived nearly 10 minutes later but still no beer. This was not a crowded night and we were arms length from where the beer taps were so we could have poured it our selves. I read so much about bread rolls here but those were "In the oven, be out in 2 minutes". We went ahead and ordered our food. Me with the Chicken Pasta and my friend with Fish and Chips. He asked to replace the fries with a salad though. Salad was the only part of the meal to arrive on time. The food arrived about 15 minutes later, with the beer ordered at the beginning of our arrival. Food was dull. My plate was so greasy it could have rotted away the plate holding it if I wasn't so hungry. The Fish and Chips did arrive. . . with chips we had told them to replace with salad. Tried them anyway and they weren't good either. About midway through our meal guess what arrives; Bread Rolls! Alright so our meal nearly finished it's time to begin eating the openers right? These things were straight up dough! I poked my index finger straight through the center with little to no ease and just called it a doughnut. Bad meal, bad service, bad location. Visting again? O'Hell No

Received a $10 gift card in the mail and decided to try this place again. Have not been here in about 5 years and it is still not good. Service was awful with our casual attitude waitress disappearing multiple times. Food was a notch below mediocre and unappealing. The spinach artichoke appetizer was tepid and not flavorful. Salads were bland and not terribly good. I say that in 5 more years I will be back.

Good quality food, reasonable prices, decent service. I haven't been much until recently. Previous visits turned me off to this location specifically and there are no others in reasonable driving distance. Good variety of items on the menu, nice portion sizes. Love their rolls. :) Salads are okay, but mostly lettuce... although it's getting that way everywhere now days. Service isn't the fastest, but still attentive and decent quality. I really like that they carry Pepsi products as opposed to coke... it's a miracle in GA to find any place that serves Pepsi.

O' Charley's how I love your rolls :). Well I loved your rolls, however, after my last visit a month or so ago, they don't seem the same. The menu was okay. Pretty standard offerings with a couple of drink specials. I was satisfied with my meal. Now the service at this location was not good at all. Our waiter was okay but he was slow. The place was not closed but the staff sure acted like it was. They were very loud and didn't act as though there were still patrons in the restaurant. Our waiter mixed up my order with the to-go order my friend ordered for her husband. So I had to wait on my side dish for quite a bit. During our wait we wanted another drink so we proceed to order another round when he came back. However, the bartender was not happy and loudly stated so. After that we decided it would be best if we left. I used to get excited about O'Charley's because there aren't a lot of locations in Atlanta and I haven't been in quite awhile. However, this will likely be my last time visiting an O'Charley's.

It's not the O'Charley's of old. I used to love going there for years, but times have changed. There isn't anything in particular that stands out. It was just average. The service was decent, and the food was so-so. Not sure I'll go back anytime soon. I believe I can find a better meal somewhere else.

Much better than the past. I had the cedar plank salmon and it was great. Keith, our server did a good job. I hope things maybe are changing. Ill try it again.

We've been sitting for almost 10 minutes and haven't even seen a server. All you can hear is the kitchen staff screaming and clowning around in the back. We left realizing there was no way we'd leave our brunch in their hands. I don't want to leave out the two servers who came in there from their smoke break and left us standing at the hostess stand. Two other parties walked out. I wanted their potatoes so bad too!

I have no idea why I am even bothering to review this place, but... I was suckered in by hearing a local dj rant and rave about how good this place was. Given my culinary knowledge, I shoulda known better, but "those delicious warm rolls" kept ringing in my head. The service was very slow, and the food- well, I've had better tv dinners. And that is no lie.

    (1)
  • Jessica D.

This place is pretty much the epitome of meh. Those squishy rolls really are quite good, but everything else is totally forgettable, ranging from mediocre to kinda bad. I'd rather just go to the Blue Ribbon Grill instead, and I'd recommend you do the same.

Went on Sunday afternoon around 2:45. Had to wait approximately 20 minutes before our order was taken. ALL the food, bread, salad, steaks and drinks were all served at ONE time together...about 30 minutes later. By the time we ate the salad, the steaks and baked potato were not even warm. The bread wasn't even warm when we got it. When we asked for more, instead of the normal 4 pieces we only got 3.The waitress was not that busy except for "taking care" of the men at the other end.She might have had 3 tables to wait on. In my opinion, she was showing favoritism. The waitress went by the name of Connie but on the receipt it shows Diana C.The people who were seated at the table next to us were lucky. They got a waiter. BTW This was a table between ours and the gentlemen at the other end. When calling the manager(Jackson) early this afternoon, I explained to him I had had medical appointments all day Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and this was the first time I had an opportunity to call and bring this to his attention. He said I should have called earlier in the week. He said the best he could offer me was 25% off our next meal. Big deal! There are coupons out there for 20%. So, the additional 5% was for lousy, inexcusable service?? I do not plan on going back to this establishment even though we have received good service from other servers. This server "took the cake" and the manager was or is not management material in my opinion.

It was a bonus to find a place in Tucker that serves brunch. My sweetie and I went for Father's Day brunch this morning. I'm almost embarrassed to admit that we were the first ones in the dining room! We had a male waiter, but I forgot his name. He was a little over-attentive and right off the bat irked me by not telling me that they had Pepsi products when I ordered a Diet Coke. Since DC is the blood in my veins, Pepsi is not an acceptable alternative. We both ordered the 2 egg brunch and both were pleased with the eggs, breakfast potatoes and toast. My bacon was limp and gooey but my husband loves bacon or meat in any form so that was just another little gift for him. Overattentive waiter man brought me another Diet Pepsi when I'd only had maybe 2 sips of my first one...it was almost like he was reading my mind ala Sookie Stackhouse and was giving me the proverbial slap in the face. We also were served yummy rolls before our breakfast. We'll probably go back some time.

In all fairness, I didn't really get to dine in because I was late for a function. My take-out order of tacos was eaten cold in a hotel room later that evening - but it was still pretty good, nonetheless. The highlight of my meal was the strawberry lemonade (which may have had club soda in it). I don't know what it was about that lemonade, but it sure was refreshing. The large party I was with seemed to have received all of their orders in a timely fashion, with no mix-ups - so that's a plus for customer service. These three stars are well earned, and when I'm back in Atlanta I'd probably visit one of their locations again - and eat my food while it's warm.

O'Charley's is not the type of restaurant that I would go out of my way to experience, but I often find myself in the Northlake area for work and it's pretty much the only choice for a non-fast food lunch. In general, I like their food, especially their baked potato soup and warm rolls. They also feature several different salads and sandwiches for lunch. It's a shame that customer service at this location can be so poor. Best described as "hit or miss", my most recent take-out experience for our office was definately a miss. Usually the bar staff goes through your order before you leave to ensure its accuracy (which is commendable and I appreciate). That didn't happen this time and I shouldn't be surprised given that fact that no one acknowledged me for about 5-10 minutes. Keep in mind the order was placed by phone 45 minutes before I arrived at 2:30 p.m. I might have excused the service if it had been during a busy time, but a few extra moments could have been taken during this slowdown. It is what it is, folks... I guess that's all I can say. :)

Horrible experience, as usual! The service at this location is terrible and make our meals simply a bad experience. The servers are slow and have a bad additude. We just ate there and the server was training a girl. She was a horrible person to train this new server. After we ordered, it took 30 minutes to get a martini, and it was not even filled all the way and full of ice. The potato soup has hard pieces in it and chipped a tooth of one of the peole we were eating with. The baked potato was rotten and the service was just bad. A waiter came around twice with the wrong order and it took forever to get our meals. The mango tea was terrible. I have had two good experiences here after the 40 or more times I have been here. The service has gone done each time we have been here.

I did not get the opportunity to evaluate the food this evening because I left after waiting for 20 minutes for someone to take the initiative to serve me. I have lived in the Northlake area for over 40 years, and I've been committed to patronizing the restaurants and other businesses in the area. If there had been even an average effort to serve me, I might have been inclined to make return visits. That won't be happening. If this location doesn't make it, it will be because of an incredibly nonchalant attitude toward customers.

    (1)
  • Kevon G.

Needs more staff. Our waiter was extremly over whelmed with busing the tables, taking orders, and serving food. Because of that our service was very slow. The rolls seemed over done and crispy. I would probably go to another location.

    (2)
  • Lee B.

I've given this O'Charleys several chances. I keep going back and I WANT to like them, but I don't. I've never had a problem with the food (except our rolls were a bit overdone this time), but the service is TERRIBLE! The staff is very slow and very indifferent. I will not eat at this location again despite how much I love their rolls.

  • Madhuri S.

This has the be THE WORST O'Charleys ever. It's not the restaurant chain, it's this location and it's staff. They all need to be shipped off to "the hood" and sell ribs and wings to people like them. I know it sounds harsh, but they are idiots and make O'Charleys have a negative impression. I will NEVER eat here again. The first time I went for takeout, it was completely empty, yet I had to wait 5 minutes for someone to go and get my food. I am a pesco-vegetarian (I only eat fish, absolutely no pork) so I asked the bartender over the phone before I ordered if the potato soup was vegetarian free of animal products. She said yes, no chicken broth or meat. The soup had BACON in it, so I ended up only eating the rolls and the salad I ordered. I can charge that off as a faux pasis...maybe she never had the soup before. The second time I ordered by phone and waited an extra 10 minutes to pick it up (so that I wouldn't have to wait when I got there). I came into an empty restaurant again and found a lady at the bar who could've easily stolen Halle Berry's role in B.A.P.S. because she was the splitten image of her, including the stank ghetto attitude, colorful hair, and gum. She totally ignored me as she was on the phone having a personal conversation about her "baby-daddy" or what not, and then proceeded to walk away. I said "excuse me, I have a to-go order." She said "ok", popped her gum, and walked on off. Another lady came out of the kitchen a minute later and said "you have a to-go order?" And I was like "yessss...I called over 20 minutes ago, been waiting more than 5 here. " She ran back to the kitchen and came back and goes " um, your order ready, but um, it ain' no rolls ready yet. You wanna wait?" I was apalled, but I said "whatever, can you take the money?" I did'nt' tip her, and gave her exact cash. Five minutes later she came out with my bag of food. I was so upset and one of the male waiters followed me outside and asked what was wrong (he was only trying to hit on me though). I told him the situation and he apologized. I tried them for the last time this Tuesday. I ordered by phone, and waited 30 minutes to pick it up. When I got there it was moderately busy, but alot of waiters were just standing around. I still had to wait for my order. This time, Lil' Kim and Nicky Minaj's clone with piercing and little sticks all over her face and around her mouth, gold teeth, and colorful weave came rushing out with my order, no receipt, no idea how much to charge me and ran back off. I already knew the charge, so I placed the amount in full $8.01 plus a @2.00 courtesy tip on the bar and left. When I got back to work, I saw that she hadn't even given me a fork to eat with--just a knife for the butter. I was like WTF! I called and spoke to the manager, Bryant. He begged me to come back as if he was going to do something. I went back and all he had to offer was an apology. So I asked for a refund and gave him the food. He gave me a refund and that was it. No offer to compensate me for my time, or my series of bad experiences. I told him that his staff was ghetto and that was the reason for the bad experiences. He apologized. I called later and asked for corporate's information. DON'T EAT HERE!!!!! IT'S NOT WORTH IT. AWFUL SERVICE
