I never thought I would end up in these neck of the woods, but I'm glad I had. Lee's was enthusiastically recommended by my English professor back when I was going to school in this sleepy town. There are few restaurant foods that offer authentic rib-sticking home-style southern love. Lee's did it for me. It didn't matter this place really was in the *middle of no-where* and that the place was completely devoid of frills. It was always hot in there with a couple of lonely fans buzzing the whole time, but the food was totally to-drool-for. You would think every meal was Thanksgiving for only $6, so it's an awesome place to ruin any diet you might think you are on! I think they installed A/C shortly before I graduated. *sigh* Bigger and better things happen in this town only when I'm about to leave. What's up with that??

Small hole in the wall place off of West Jones. Ambiance is unpretentious. Food is great. Traditional Southern soul food. Had Fried Pork Chops with Mac and Greens that was better than I can get anywhere else in Statesboro. Prices are cheap.

Lee's isn't the most upscale restaurant nor is it even midscale but the southern food they serve is some of the best in the 'boro and it is also cheap. I just want to forwarn you that the interior is a little sketch, but then again the best soul food restaurants are always like that.

Lee's was one of my usual non-football saturday lunch spots. The have good real southern style food. Who doesn't like a good fried pork-chop? Even more so when it is attached to a good price. The staff was nice and helpful. And it was always an enjoyable start to the afternoon. Its definitely worth checking out!
