Good, economical country food. I've been to this location a couple times. Always leave satisfied! Today I had a very good lunch! "Shout Out" to the friendly outgoing waitress Rebecca, who made my visit special with her cheerful personality and attentive service!

Southern cooking, a cuisine that was heavily incorporated into my diet growing up but has since fallen to the wayside for a more healthier lifestyle. Don't get me wrong, you can always opt for healthier options but man, that's quite a challenge when the scent of popular dishes hit your nose. Ok, enough of that. lol So check this out. A while back, I had this unexplainable urge to eat some southern home cooking. I guess a recommendation that I had received from the office a few days prior was sitting in the back of my mind, which quite possibly fueled my desire to check it out. Add in the fact that I have driven past this place numerous times without stopping may have had an impact as well. I'll be honest, Oga's, from the outside, doesn't look very appealing. Not that it really matters, just FYI. As for the interior, same scenario, older decor as well. I guess you can say it reminds me of my Grandmother's house out in the country. Ok on to the food, specifically the meatloaf. I give it to Oga's, I didn't think the "watery" or "juicy" meatloaf would be good, like, at all. I'm used to the meatloaf that has been enriched with sauce, you know, the ones that are caked with the deliciousness of thick flavorful sauce. Nonetheless, I have to say my expectations were exceeded on this one as I was pleasantly surprised at how well it tasted. Now for the sides. I had Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes with gravy. Hear me out, I'm no Mac and cheese snob by any means but I do have a certain standard that needs to be met. I expect a creamy and thick cheese sauce that tastes good and just sticks to the shells. Here, the Mac and cheese isn't that good. I don't know what it is. It's like the cheese is flavorless and doesn't "attach" itself to the shells very well. I think they should look into revamping the recipe. Mashed potatoes and gravy were okay, nothing stood out except that it was piping hot, which was the case for the entire plate, which is good because nothing sucks more than getting a plate of lukewarm food. So overall, food was okay, nothing to write home about. I would stop by here again if I was in a pinch budget wise or time wise. Oh yeah, Rebecca, the server, is probably one of the most kindest servers you will ever encounter. Kudos to her for providing exceptional service!

I'll probably keep passing this place by unless I'm desperate. Food Hot! Cashier nice & friendly! tilapia..beer battered... thumbs down. Was excited about fried green tomatoes until I saw the battered coating. cabbage better than expected. cornbread was ok slightly sweet. prices are great for amount of food. not to positive I'll visit anytime soon. definitely will not recommend this restaurant to anyone. 3 stars for value, hot food & friendliness.

Surprised that people give this place such high ratings. I had it once because I was craving some soul food but will never go here again. The food wasn't particularly bad but it just wasn't very good either. I had a four side "veggie" plate which costs $5.65. I was happy that the collards weren't made with pork but they were a bit bland. I couldn't tell what kind of cheese was used for the Mac and Cheese which concerned me. It was a very gooey consistency. The rice was marginally okay. Black eyed peas were too salty and mushy. However I did like the cornbread. The place is very old and dingy looking which is very unappetizing however it did appear clean to the eye.

Not a big fan of "southern food", but I have to admit this place had the best banana pudding I have ever had. I would go back just for the banana pudding!

Horrific in every way! Don't do it!! I wanted some good down home southern cooking. What a mistake. First of all the place has no charm, but hey that actually gave me hope. Usually, hole in the wall type restaurants are the best ones. NOT!!! I ordered cabbage, meatloaf and macaroni and cheese. Absolutely nothing looked appetizing. The cabbage was water logged. The macaroni and cheese was the deep yellow you get when you make the packaged variety and it tasted like it too. Definitely not southern style. The meatloaf was the best item on the plate, but nothing to seek out. I will not step foot in this establishment again. Terrible, terrible food.

Is this location under the same owners as the Peachtree Indus. location? Some of the food is homemade and some is not. the mac and cheese tasted factory made. The cornbread was dry. The sweet tea was very good and the pinto beans were made from scratch. The owner (little asian lady) is the casher, manager, and server. the cooks in the back were mexican. Decor is very kitchy from the vinyl tableclothes. When you enter you can sit on either left or right "wings". All seats are booths. It closes around 8pm I think, earlier if they arent busy. Driving down windy hill away from Cobb parkway, keep driving and pass under a railroad bridge. You;ll see a mcdonalds on the left and Ogas is across the street. I would say that alot of this food tates like it comes out of a box or factory pre-fab. some of is true southern cooking from scratch. This place reminds me of little donnies.

Well, I don't know...maybe it's just me, but I find Oga's a half-hearted attempt at true Southern food. Even the Green Tomato in Powder Springs beats this place. I've eaten there several times over the years because where I've worked, it was the closest place with some sort of "healthy" food, at least better than a freakin burger off the dollar menu...which is right about where I rate Oga's. The last time I went was last week. I had Country Fried Steak...or what was SUPPOSED to be Country Fried Steak, but it was a stupid hamburger patty, breaded in some cheap breading and then fried hard...too hard. She did give me a choice of white or brown gravy...which I like white gravy and their's was decent. It's a mix, but better than some I've had. The collards...I can't complain about. They were ok...a bit bland. The mashed potatoes were ok...again, a bit bland. They were real, not instant. They had some large, unmashed chunks in them, but that was ok. The person I was with had macaroni and cheese...HOW CAN ANYONE ON HERE SAY THEIR MAC N CHEESE IS GOOD????? Ugh! It's freakin cheap cheese sauce...not even good cheese sauce but the real, real orangey, very thin kind???? The Steak was the biggest downer. I couldn't even eat it...it reminded me of the "steak patties" or "chuck wagon patties" that come in a big plastic sleeve at Wal-Mart where you get like 18 patties for only $3.99...HORRID VENDING MACHINE FOOD! The waitress was nice but she was the only waitress. We had to wait forever to get refills on our tea or to get our bill. The place is smelly and FILTHY! Their bathrooms smell like they do a half-hearted attempt to clean them, but they are not clean at all. It's like they mop the floors, but don't sweep before they mop and just mop the dirt around on the floors. For me, Oga's has always been a disappointment, whatever location you find. This owner was nicer here than the one on Powder Springs Road, but the food just isn't there. Go to Picadilly or Publix for goodness sakes!

For the price and what you get, you can't beat it! I'm talking two sides of vegetables and meat for around $7. Beats buying fast food, that's for sure. Service is good, especially if you're a regular. My favorite, the meatloaf. There's a reason this particular restaurant has been around for over 15 years. I've been going there with my parents and grandparents for a long time and the taste has been consistent. I think it's because the owners are the ones cooking in the back. Bottom line...give it a try. You won't be disappointed.

Oga's looks like a place you want to drive right past and not think twice, boy that's a big mistake. I have eaten at Oga's now a handful of times and it always hits the mark on tasty veggies and good meats. Driving up, it seems like this place is an old Hickory House, Huddle House or Waffle House, some kind of old House. The mustard yellow sign and building are instantly recognizable heading down Windy Hill. Once inside the decor leaves LOTS to be desired, push through, you are in for a treat. Pick your seat and look for the specials on the dry erase board on the wall. There is basically a revolving menu that depends on the day of the week (for instance catfish nuggets on Monday's) with approx 5 specials. Then you have the permanent side dishes and desserts that are always available. I recommend anything, everything. My usual includes the fried chicken breast, mac and cheese, fried green tomatoes and a sweet tea. There is no fancy dress to this place as the items come out simple and delicious. They are not seasoned with a fancy sauce or crusted in panko. They are veggies the way grandma made. The service is spot on. Annie runs the place and runs it well. If she gets to know you then you can usually anticipate your beverage waiting for you at your table. She goes above and beyond remember guests favorites and is always there to refill your beverage making sure you never go dry. Once you order sit back and take in the atmosphere. On any day you will be accompanied by every range of person from city Mayor to city slicker. This place is the buried treasure of meat and two restaurants in Atlanta. I love the consistency and the value. My order mentioned above with cornbread (all you can eat) is $7.70 total without tip. The food takes a minute to get to you as they are preparing your dish fresh to order. Oga's is a place to be and a place to be seen.
