I've been going to this location for over 20 years. The food is just okay but they have plenty of room and can take big groups easily (which is great when our family of 16 is getting together) The employees here are very nice just some of the food is okay. We happened to wind up here twice in the last week for family lunches. The first time I went I ordered shrimp, mac & cheese, and coleslaw. The shrimp were small and tasted like I could have made the same thing at home with any box of frozen breaded shrimp. The mac and cheese was okay but again tasted like the box velveta kind. The coleslaw was pretty good and so were the hush puppies. My son wanted a grilled cheese and fries. I snatched one of his fries and they weren't great at all. They tasted like they were not cooked long enough. They were not soggy but not crisp either. The second time we went I ordered a cheese burger with a side salad. The burger was okay but a little on the small side. The salad was just your basic salad. My husband ordered the captains platter and was pleased with it. This time my son got chicken fingers and fries. Again the fries were not that great but the chicken fingers were very yummy. I think next time I return I will just stick with the chicken fingers.

Eww. I feel like I don't even have to explain myself for the 1 star. . . but that's not how Yelp works so I guess I will. First we walked in and the hostess looks as like "who are youua?" And I thought for a moment they were about to close or something because of the expression on her face but nope, not closing for 4 1/2 hours so. I ordered fried pickles for my app and the menu said it came with ranch but mine didn't. Unfortunately I didn't notice in the few seconds the waitress was there so I waited for a while before she came back to ask for my ranch. Anyway I got the fried chicken sandwich with coleslaw. The chicken tastes like they fried it with the fish and the coleslaw tasted like it had pickle relish in it which not only made it look gross but taste gross too. Plus the drive up bell was so loud and kept going off throughout our meal. Also the hostess gave us the same dirty look on the way out. We definitely won't be going back.

The food just wasn't good. The macaroni and cheese looked and tasted like it had been sitting around for days. The fries were stale and the food was not at all seasoned. The seafood could not have been fresh. It tasted like it came from a frozen box. The only reason I am giving it 2 stars is because the sweet tea was good and the servers were nice.

Never having been to Savannah, I wanted to try a "local" place. Cute and warm place, but the food I had was mediocre at best. The server highly recommended their barbecue plate that includes pulled pork, Brunswick stew and garlic bread. The pork turned out to be a bit of chopped pork that I suppose, could gave been improved by putting it in a sandwich. It had a blob of clearly store-bought sauce on top of it. The stew, rather than having chunks of veggies, meat, anything had the consistency, appearance and taste of refried beans. The "garlic" bread was Two pieces of Wonder bread (do they still make that?) buttered and grilled and then served cold. Yuck. The good news (if you could call it that)? My meal was on sale for seven bucks. I also ordered an appetizer of fried pickles. They were just ok. I just don't get it. What is it about this place that people rave about?

Disgusting. The place smelled like a nursing home and servers and managers just stood around conversing. I get that it's a slow Monday lunch, but find something to do to make the place look more presentable like clean the mold off of the ceiling. Also, service was mediocre as far as servers go. One of the female managers needs serious training on how to handle customer service properly. It was my first (and only) time there and came highly recommended by friends who I came there with. I ordered the deviled crab and fried shrimp with Brunswick stew and pasta as a side. My taste buds aren't high maintenance whatsoever, but this was horrible. The deviled crab (said to be their best quality) tasted more like bread crumbs than crab. The fried shrimp consistent of way too much fried and teeny tiny shrimp. The pasta was way overwhelming in vinegar! It was inedible by anyone's standards! And when I told the manager about it, she said that's how it was supposed to taste and they aren't responsible for making it. Never offered a replacement side! (I wouldn't have accepted it anyway, everything was too ghastly to consume.) the Brunswick stew looked like it was put through a blender (better than saying what it really looked like- vomit!) which is sad, because everyone eats with their eyes first. And I'm not kidding when I say it tasted exactly like ketchup! As did the cocktail sauce ( which I'm pretty sure was really ketchup) that I waited ten minutes for after requesting it a second time. My friends also ordered beers and they were brought to them warm! Are you kidding me? We were going to overlook it when we noticed the expiration date said march of 2013! That is unacceptable! When confronting the female manager about it, she actually argued with us about the temperature as if we're too stupid to know what warm beer is. And said "that's not the expiration date. I can't remember what it is, but it's not the expiration date." Again, she needs some serious training! We told her to take them off our bill and that we're were never coming back. She did not care at all. And believe me, lady, I'm never going back!

Went here because someone at the hotel recommended it and it was close by. If I wanted shrimp like that, I would go to the nearest frozen food section and get some out of the freezer. Cole slaw was terrible. Sweet tea was so sweet that I thought I might go into some sort of diabetic shock or get instant cavities or something and overall, a really terrible place! And to the employee who suggested it...either you are dumb or you like messing with people. You live in Savannah, you should know better!

Not what I was promised, instead of good southern barbecue, we ended up with over priced diner food:( The saving grace was our "in training" server who was attentive and polite, we suggested a friend of ours go recruit her for her own catering staff!!
