    Our second visit did not disappoint. The breadsticks are fried and very tasty. It comes with a marinara dipping sauce and an herbed butter. Both were a hit at our table. The house salad with online and pimentos is flavorful and delicious. The main entree of meat and cheese tortellini, tossed in an Alfredo sauce, spent a few moments under the broiler. It was fantastic! Note that kids eat free on Sunday-Thursday.

    It took a longgg time for the waitress to approach our table. At least say you'll be with us, or look in our direction. Even a nod. The breadsticks were good. Almost the same texture as a croissant. Great garlic butter and marinara sauce. Not impressed with their fettuccine alfredo or pizza. Solid tiramasu. Decor was cozy. Average Italian restaurant but nothing to brag home about. Service could use some work.

    I went in to Bella's today for lunch with my son and a friend. When we arrived there was only one other table with people at it. Our waitress was really friendly and attentive without being annoying. My son is 3 and she was great with him, got him his food right away. As we waited for our food the restaurant had a lot more people come in but the service remained top notch. The menu wasn't that inventive, the standard ravioli, Parmesans, and such. I had the meat filled tortellini with marinara sauce on it instead of the cream sauce. The food was pretty good, and I will go back. But nothing so super fantastic, that why I only gave it 4 stars. I really liked the house made salad dressing. The restaurant was clean and cute.

    Welcome to the early 1990s. Decor, plating, and food all look like they belong in a dramatic scene on "Full House" when Danny gives Stephanie advice on how to break it to her dad that she cheated on a middle school math test. We have been to Bella's before, but forgot what it was like because it has been a while. The staff is friendly enough and quite attentive, but the food leaves much to be desired. And let's be honest, I can deal with bad service if I have great food, but amazing service with mediocre food doesn't have me coming back. We went at lunchtime and I ordered a meatball sub with a side salad. The pre-meal bread is served in a terra cotta pot with some parchment paper... A strange addition to the already strange decor. The salad looked like a delightful plate of withered leaves, soaked in dressing to make it a nice soggy mess. The meatball sub was plated with a bushel of parsley... Yes, like 1985 plating design kind of parsley... And was so awkwardly shaped that it was impossible to fit into my mouth. After dealing with the mess of the whole thing, I was excited to bite into it. The bread was too crunchy and the meatballs had a hint of garlic, a dash of oregano, and about 3 tablespoons of cardboard per meatball. The flavor was bland and... Just odd. The marinara sauce was decent, particularly if you like a chunky, hearty sauce. Unfortunately, the meal left a lot to be desired. The restaurant needs a major update, but there are too many great places in Savannah to come back here any time soon.

    We came here for dinner after a day at Tybee Island due to the fact that we love Italian food! I honestly don't know why this place is called a cafe since its a sit-down restaurant. Breadstick appeared right after we ordered our food along with the salad. The breadsticks were kind of soft but warm. The butter that came with them was too hard and the marinara sauce was chunky like it had just came from a can. The salads were soaked with whatever dressing they used and that was sort of disgusting but I feel like if we would have told them to take it back and change them, they would have. Food was not bad but not exactly the best, I order the cheese ravioli and my sister ordered the fettuccine alfredo. Ambience is relatively romantic. I came here with my sister but other than us, everyone here was basically a couple. They used real candles in the candle holders, not fake ones. Good service, waitress was very nice and friendly. It was a little cold in the restaurant but thankfully the food was hot!

    Bella's is good, but standard Italian food. Nothing super special. Atmosphere is definitely date-y. The breadsticks are good but that garlic butter is the best. I've had the lasagne and ravioli app and would get the ravioli again.

    Came here on lunch break, the atmosphere is '80 with Frank Sinatra music. I must say that I went with the flow and I did not check the cleanness grade issued by the county. I had the ziti with meat sauce. There was too much onion and the pasta was over cooked. I did not like it. I must also say after 8 hours I am still sick. Overall not a good experience. I don't reccomend the restaurant and I am surprised by the high rate reviews.

    We ordered a couple pizzas and the bottoms were burnt, beyond edible and gross. No quality control, clearly they don't care about reviews. Obvious better choices in Savannah, don't waste your time here.

    I am so glad that we decided to come to this local Italian restaurant for dinner instead of a chain restaurant. Bella's was very accommodating with making (and changing) a reservation for a medium-sized group. I was very grateful for this, especially when I noticed during our meal that the line to get inside was stretched outside of the door! Before you even order you will have breadsticks with a delicious marinara sauce available for you to snack on. If you run out they will promptly bring you more. I'm normally not much of a salad eater but the salad that came with my entree was excellent. I was going to get the chicken parmesan, but the price seemed a little steep ($20) for that. I got the ziti with meat sauce, which I enjoyed. I didn't like how it came with large chunks of tomato in it, but that's just a personal preference. I also got to sample the cheese ravioli. I would probably order that next time! I definitely will be back!

    3.75 stars. I wanted to love Bella's. Four stars, maybe more. It's very good, but needs just a little attention to detail. The inside decor is nice for its old strip center location. It's comfortable and casual, and Bella's packs in a mix of locals and a few tourists. I could see Bella's as my favorite neighborhood cafe if I lived nearby. First, the marinara sauce is perhaps the best I've had in Savannah. Simple. Really good. It accompanies the warm and wonderful petit bread loaves delivered in a terracotta planting pot. Mmmm. Home-made beef soup with pasta and veggies was hearty, a little spicy, and hot. Perfect for a cold January night. This was one of the best soups I've had in a while. Bella's lasagna had the potential to be memorable but sadly fell short. It had been reheated to the point where the top layer of pasta was slightly hard and woefully chewy. Service is attentive, efficient and warm. Parking is plentiful in front of the restaurant or along the street within two blocks. Mangia!

    I am so incredibly disappointed, and not just in this place. I am disappointed in YOU, Yelp. You have just failed me for the 900th time in Savannah. FOUR STARS WITH 61 REVIEWS?! Who do you think you're fooling? Have you actually hidden all of the sub-3 star reviews? What's going on? Okay, look, this restaurant is close to my house and the folks who work here are probably nice, but the food is a problem. It is not good. We got fried ravioli, which were cold and dry, with marinara that was cold. My guy's antipasto sandwich (the best of the items, despite coming with cherry tomatoes on it) came with a salad that was wilted and soaked in dressing. And my chicken Parmesan, which came highly recommended by no fewer than 6 reviews, was so sad. First, it costs $20! It comes with a small serving of pasta with sauce and parsley. It was three full-size boneless/skinless chicken breasts, soggy with a listlessly spiced breading, a bunch of cold and gummy cheese, and more marinara. The fryer oil tasted like it's been hanging out for longer than many of the servers were allowed to legally drink. I am so, so disappointed. If Gordon Ramsey was still doing Kitchen Nightmares, he would have had a field day with this. The cooks and owners must have given up, but that's their problem. My problem is why anyone would accept this kind of food from a restaurant, and further, why they would review it so highly on Yelp. I've lived in Savannah for over a year, so I felt silly not having tried it, now I feel silly for listening to Yelp. Again! Two stars: one because I haven't vomited up the half of my meal that I could stomach, and one because I don't want to make people who do like this food (or work at this place) feel like jerks. I'm sure they aren't, but good gravy, people, there's better than this, even in Savannah.

    Nice quaint little Italian place nestled on Habersham. The staff is friendly and attentive. Hot bread rolls with a garlic butter and marinara. They keep them coming too. Salad was drenched in dressing, but tasty. The special was tasty and filling. My buddy and I got all the food we could eat and the price was right on. I'll be back.

    The outside looks like a dump, but once your inside it is a total beauty. I probably never would have come in here from the outside looks alone, so thanks for the reviews guys. The breadsticks are an oddity as I think they are not fresh, and were not really that great. The pro of this is that they are not stingy with them. Chicken parmesan was a little big (chicken part) and the side pasta was a pretty small portion. I asked for angel hair instead or riti (which it comes with) and they accommodated easily. The alfredo/marinara sauce mix they gave was amazing (best part of the meal). The chicken was good though, just out of proportion. My sister got the cheese tortellini (baked) - the sauces was very good, but the cheese on the inside was not very flavorful. Fried ravioli - wasn't exceptional, but good. Comes with a pretty small portion of marinara sauce. The salad's were given automatically, so we were not asked which dressing it was. We were not given Ceasar, but another dressing that while I don't know what it was, it wasn't good. No one ate it. The staff was friendly enough. Cannolis for dessert were ok. I have had better. They were pretty big (too big for me) and the shell was too crunchy.

    If you a want really good Italian food then Bella's is definitely the place you need to go. The atmosphere is great. They also have a very friendly staff. I am pleased every time I come here. Their breadsticks are amazing. I order the tomato cream soup (the best I've ever had) instead of a salad. I would recommend the baked ziti with sausage. It comes to your table very fresh and steaming because it just came out the oven. I would highly recommended this place to anyone.

    This was the first place that my wife and I went together after our wedding. We moved away shortly after that and had not gone back until recently. It was amazing food then and it is still amazing now. Love this place!

    My absolute favorite Italian restaurant in Savannah and a hidden treasure for locals. Exceptional food and service for a reasonable price. The bread sticks and marinara are served at each table for free, and are very simple and delicious. My favorite entrees are the tortellini and the veal parmesan. I love the small, homey and romantic atmosphere of this place. The servers are always attentive and professional. You will not regret going here!

    Found this as a 4- star on Yelp, so decided to try it out, and was not disappointed. We started with the fried ravioli which was a first for me, it was great, but again it was my first. Our entrees included a small Italian salad which was good, not great. Breadsticks came complimentary along with marinara and a garlic butter spread, very tasty. I ordered the manicotti, a popular dish there, and my wife ordered the ziti with meat , but with Alfredo sauce (not on the menu, but the waiter said "no problem") note: Olive Garden won't do such a thing, we've tried. The main reason for 5 stars is that our waiter was top notch, and we had an awesome experience because of it. The food was authentic Italian, and well worth the price we paid.

    Lovely, comforting, romantic ambiance. Has big tables for groups as well as cozy booths for dates. Good variety of vegetarian and meat options for pizza and pastas and they all looked good in the menu. I got the spinach and artichoke stuffed shells with tomato cream sauce and it was tasty. Did not notice much artichoke but there is mozzarella in the stuffed shells and a good amount of tomato in the cream sauce which made me happy. The portions are good especially for the spaghettis: they are huge! They give you free bread ( a bit oily but tasty and a bit sweet. ) with herb butter and tomato paste along with a free salad. The salad came mixed with the dressing and they did not ask us which. Ours came with italian dressing and it was good and not too salty. Id probably visit again given the opportunity. On a saturday evening the wait was about 15 minutes but there was seating indoors.

    Nice little spot. Don't let the strip mall location deter you. Once inside, the atmosphere is quite nice. Terra cotta tiles lends roots to its Italian heritage. The breadsticks, although not traditional italian bread, are evil in the way that you keep wanting more. I ordered the lasagna and my husband ordered veal parm. We were both equally satisfied. The base sauce would likely lend itself to an excellent meal, from any of the menu options. Locals seem to flock here. Highly recommended!

    Just had an awesome experience at Bella's. Sean was our server & we couldn't have been taken care of any better. We ordered the antipasto platter (more of a meat salad), creamy tomato soup, ziti/meat soup, linguine with white clam sauce, lasagna with meat sauce, and tiramisu. Everything was very fresh tasting. We especially enjoyed how carefully spaced each course was. Thank you Sean! It seemed like it was full of locals which we took as a very good sign. Sean was very helpful in which items to choose & was very knowledgeable. I can not say enough about our experience. Thank you Sean & thank you Bella's for making our last night in Savannah so memorable!

    With a craving for Italian tonight, it was Bella's vs. the chains (Olive Garden, Macaroni Grill, Carabba's). We decided to support local (we live less than a mile from this place, how much more local can you get?) and went to Bella's! I had the fettucine alfredo with chicken. Next time I will omit the chicken as it was very bland and didn't add any flavor to the dish. My husband had the pesto pizza, which was delicious as well. The tot came along and wasn't the only kid in the restaurant, but I probably wouldn't bring her during prime "date" times. Kids eat free Monday-Wednesday so if you have littles I would suggest visiting during those times. Ambiance in the restaurant was nice enough for a date, but nothing spectacular. Diners were wearing everything from suits to jeans and hunting jackets.

    Another great meal at Bella!s. I had the eggplant parm. It takes a special skill to prepare eggplant. Bella's knows that skill. It was excellent. The marinara sauce was perfect. My daughter had a bean and pasta beef based soup, to start. She is picky, but ate all of the soup. Her fettuccini Alfredo with chicken and mushrooms was marvelous, she reported. This restaurant has the best Italian cuisine in Savannah.

    I used to live in Savannah nearby and Bella's was always my favorite Italian place all the way back into the 90's. Their chicken parmesan spoiled me to the point that I wouldn't even order it at other restaurants until I saw it wasn't the wet garbage you find at many places. Their red sauce was my favorite, very flavorful with chunks of tomato that would burst in your mouth with flavor. I would crave their sauce and go their specifically to eat the chicken parm. I've even told my wife that Bella's red sauce is the only red sauce I've liked better than hers. I've since moved to Richmond Hill, the next county south of Savannah, and don't get to Bella's as often as I'd like because I miss their chicken parm. It's been at least a year since visiting until tonight. I of course ordered chicken parm and the chicken was cooked the way I remember it, I love the baked plate with cheese, it's always piping hot when it arrives at the table. It looked the way it always had. What severely disappointed me was the sauce however, it barely had any flavor. I thought it was perhaps my taste buds since the Savannah pollen is attacking my head this week, until my 15 year old step daughter that was there for her first time spoke up and said "this is very good mom, but the sauce has no flavor. It's not as good as yours." I mentioned that I thought maybe it was my taste buds with the pollen but my wife then spoke up and said "no, this is not the same." I was so disappointed I didn't order tiramisu and coffee even which was ALWAYS our tradition there after dinner. I do hope this is an isolated incident and Joyce or someone that cares pays attention to the sauce again and gets it back to where it once was. That sauce is what motivated me to drive 45+ minutes from Richmond Hill and stand in line on a Saturday night.

    Excellent. No other way to put it. From the food to the customer service. I found this place by asking locals using an app called LOCALMIND. I asked about the best and original Italian place in Savannah, GA. Most people wo answered my question mentioned Bella's. We had a group of 20 people. They took our reservation without a problem. The food was excellent and did to take long. They brought to our table these amazing breadsticks. The way they make them is so unique....you will see. When I ordered my food, I ordered something that was not on the menu. They had no problem making it for me. For dessert i had canoli Best canoli i have had in Georgia since i moved here in 2000 , it was even better than the canoli I had in little Italy New York The restaurant sits a few miles away from the river front, so make sure you drive there They separated our bills no problem also.

    Went here on a Friday night at 630. Was nervous because we didn't have to wait for a table, but 10 after showing the line was out the door. Glad I got there when I did. As for the food I was very good. Couldn't get enough of the bread and garlic butter. The waitress was very nice and service was fast. Our group had veal, lasagna, fried ravioli, and pizza. We decided to eat family style so I got a taste of everything. My favorite was the pizza, but everything was great. Will definitely go back again the next time I am in savannah.

    mediocre Italian fare but great location. pizza was just ok I got the feeling it's frozen dough. menu is really rudimentary, wine list is like a grocery store at best, service is young, prices are steep for what it is. it's not bad, I just needed more info cause I went in hearing it was to die for, which reminds me to ask that person if they are really lonely or just enjoy Olive Garden plus. still destroys corleones, but lack of vegetarian options is unacceptable and lots of kitsch going on.

    There were 4 of us who had dinner at Bella's last evening served pleasantly by Phillip. Entrees included eggplant Parmesan, steak with Gorgonzola, fettuccine with chicken & mushrooms, and fettuccine with shrimp. Each entree was delicious and beautifully served with extra Parmesan cheese grated by Phillip. The breadsticks were the best and we were kept well supplied by Phillip. We had cannoli and tiramisu for desert and both were yum. It was a great dinner all around and we will return soon!

    My husband, a native son of Savannah, believes no trip home is complete without gaining 5lbs... and half of these are from Bella's. (Spanky's and Mrs Wilkes contribute the rest.) In three words: om, nom, nom. I firmly believe you have to drive to Jacksonville for better Italian. The ambiance is nothing to write home again and the service is just north of average. But the garlic butter and hot breadsticks served with marina will make you forget the could-be-cleaner bathrooms - and the word 'Atkins.' The salads are nicely dressed, but the veggies aren't particularly impressive. Whatever. Like you came here for the salad. Baked pasta seems to be their strong point and, frankly, where I've focused my gastronomical attention. Delicious! They are served hot and with plenty of cheese, just the way the good lord intended. Can't speak to the desserts. Never had room for them. I can speak for the coffee: it's Folgers. Skip it.

    OK, I'll admit that I am a fan of the small Italian restaurants, and generally look for them when ever I travel. This place is no different. It is a great little local Italian place that is located in a small stripmall. The service is very good, the ambiance is average for this kind of place, the food is very good, which is what I have come to expect from these little local Italian places. There is a reason that this place is ranked #1 on yelp for Italian in the Savannah area. This place reminds me of a local place that we love to go to in Destin Fl. If you want good Italian, look no farther.

    The Man: "You make better alfredo from a can." That comment basically sums up the meal. We ordered To Go, so maybe there is incredible ambiance that makes up for the lackluster food? Our Order: Fettuccine Alfredo with Shrimp, Meatball Sandwich. The Fettuccine came with breadsticks, compound butter, marinara sauce, and a side salad. The best part of the meal was the compound butter. It had herbs and garlic and was perfect. It made the rather flavorless breadsticks edible. The alfredo sauce seemed to lack seasoning of any kind. It was a bland white sauce with no discernible garlic or salt. It was incredibly bland. On the upside, the pasta was cooked perfectly al dente. The salad: TERRIBLE. The dressing was their home dressing and was similarly flavorless. It was packaged already dressed (which is terrible when the hot breadsticks were in the same container). The Meatball Sandwich: The meatballs were ... you guessed it, flavorless. The sandwich bread didn't appear to be toasted and therefore it arrived totally soggy. The marinara didn't have complex flavor, it was more like heated canned tomatoes. Too bad! This place always has lines. Maybe we ordered the wrong things? It was bad enough to convince me not to return.

    We got take-out, so I can't comment on the atmosphere or service. From a vegan perspective the food was ok if you are craving basic italian food. It is loaded with oil which I'm not a fan of. I would recommend getting your salad dressing on the side unless you like your lettuce soaked.

    We went here when we first got to Georgia. Neither myself nor my husband was impressed. I have stomach issues that make it very difficult to order from restaurants sometimes--I am mildly lactose intolerant, among other things, though I do still indulge from time to time, and I am VERY allergic to shellfish. This was a place where it was incredibly difficult to find something to order. I'd say I perused the menu for several minutes before realizing that one of the few things I could eat without getting very sick after was a pasta with a plain spaghetti sauce and sausage (I can't remember which pasta it was, this was months ago). My husband ordered a cheesy ravioli dish. He didn't like it much. I had a bite (cheese is a weakness of mine, a very bad one for a lactose intolerant person), and also didn't like it much. Neither of our dishes had much flavor; they felt under-seasoned. The sausage in my pasta was very greasy, and it upset my stomach quite a bit. My husband also mentioned having a bad stomachache from his meal, despite not having any dietary restrictions. I guess it was just too rich of a food for him? It was okay. It wasn't great. We wouldn't go here again. I'm sure some of the dishes I wasn't able to have are better than the one I did have. Service was very slow despite few people being present in the restaurant. Our waitress seemed mildly displeased to be serving us. The way the place was decorated was fairly cute. It felt intimate. I could see how it could be a romantic little restaurant. The dishes are very large, but for the quality, I felt it a little overpriced. Maybe it was a bad night, I don't know. I'm glad we tried it, but I wouldn't recommend it, especially if you have any dietary restrictions or a sensitive stomach. The rave reviews do make your expectations unfairly high. On another note--it's really difficult to find a restaurant in Georgia if you're allergic to shellfish...

    I've often joked that I may be Irish, but my stomach is Italian. I simply can't get enough of parmesan, marinara and the various other tasty ingredients that go into a meal fit for a mob boss. With that being said, Bella's certainly didn't disappoint. The fare is a bit more traditional than it's somewhat Americanized cousins at places like The Olive Garden, but no less delicious. On top of that, as several others have mentioned, the breadstick appetizers with garlic butter and marinara are outstanding. The overall mood of the restaurant is a bit adult, with tables illuminated by candlelight, and wine menus proudly plastered across empty wine bottles themselves. As such, I'd say Bella's is more suited for couples looking to recreate that "Lady and the Tramp" moment, than a family of five. While it seems like a place better reserved for a special occasion, I'll definitely be back. If you decide to give 'em a try, go with my long time favorite, the Chicken Parmesan. Bella's take on this old Italian classic won't disappoint.

    This is by far my favorite Italian Restaurant.. I've lived in LA for the past 5 years, and I can't find anything as good as Bellas. The lasagna and Tiramisu is the best anywhere period. I love the bread sticks w/ garlic butter and marinara. They have great fet. alfredo, They also have great selection of wines. The staff usually is really great. I haven't been in a while so I don't know how they act. I remember Bella's before the expansion. Before and After the place always has a home style feel. It's very quaint and quiet, but they do get very busy.

    Very nice atmosphere. Bread sticks were very good. App sampler was ok.... fried mushrooms and fried ravioli were good, chicken tenders were over done. My angel hair olive oil with shrimp and scallops was bland. Needed salt and sauce from my wifes canteloni made it ok. The canteloni was great. Our son got the kid's ravioli, its a bowl of tomatoes halves, cheese and a couple actual raviolis. Our salads were horrible! Server was always so slow on refills or whatever we asked for, the place wasn't full or that busy. We wont be back.

    Bella's is very good, simple, home-style Italian cooking. The atmosphere is charming but not at all posh and the dining room is small. Located in midtown in an area where I suspect plenty of people can even walk from their homes to eat here. That is, this is Savannah for Savannah locals, not for tourists and there is no effort (thankfully) to be coy or to put on airs. What Bella's is, is just what it is and it's a great place for Italian-American cooking. The antipasto is a real winner as are all their pastas that I've tried. Their salads and breads are also very good. Every town should have a simple Italian place of this caliber!

    This is my favorite Italian restaurant! ANYWHERE! For starters, the bread sticks are amazing. They're fried it seems and served with marinara and a seasoned butter. As for appetizers, I like the fried ravioli or caprese. This is the first place I had caprese and I fell in love with it! I have had the tortellini, manicotti, lasagna, shrimp scampi, and the angel hair with shrimp and never once been disappointed. The tortellini is my favorite though, and all this comes with a salad, which is unique... in a great way! They have a house dressing which is a thicker vinegar base with a pimento flavor. I hate pimentos, but I love this salad. If you're in Savannah, or even a native who hasn't been, you should try Bella's.

    This is definitely as good as it gets in Savannah for Italian. It is not the top of my list, but it is Top 10, for sure. Do not second guess this restaurant due to its "off the beaten path" location. It's in a strip mall. Get over it. Best Pasta Fagioli I have had EVER! Service was great and our entrees were exceptional. The marinara is superb and atypical of the seasoned puree that italian restaurants often serve. Get out of the tourist district and check out this Savannah gem!

    Fantastic neighborhood Italian place. Not fancy, but very comfortable atmosphere, nice wait staff, and easy parking. They have a moderate wine list at very good prices, as well as a few beer options. The food is consistently good. This is all recognizable Italian food- stuffed shells, manicotti, fabulous pizza, and the tiarmisu and the cheesecake!!! I am not usually one for desserts, but they actually make their own cheesecake, and it's fantastic. This is a place that is consistently good, and not expensive. We go all the time, and always enjoy it.

    One star is not low enough. Started out with taking forever to get drink order. Asked waiter about some of the dishes , he he no clue. Ordered the sweet tee, and it was like dishwater. One of my daughters ordered the lasagne and it was cold as ice in the middle. My Turkey Hot Sub had one thin piece of turkey. This placed sucked. Go to KFC!

    The food was pretty good, among the better Italian in Savannah. The ambiance is a lot nicer than one would expect from the outside. Definitely on par with what one would find downtown. I would recommend the antipasti salad and the Eggplant Parmigiana. However, our waitress was strangely rude, somewhat of a rarity in this town. Maybe it wasn't her night, but she had a patronizing manner and didn't help to clean up or even offer an extra napkin after she spilled sauce on the table. Otherwise, I would have given them 4 stars. Will probably give them another try, though.

    When you first arrive, the surrounding area might have you wondering if you should bother. Do it. With sounds of Sinatra complimenting modest decor - including wine bottles with wine lists on the table - the atmosphere is just as nice for families as it is for couples. Piping hot breadsticks with marinara are brought out the second your first bowl is empty. Great selection of pizzas, sandwiches, appetizers and entrees. Very friendly staff and everything from the ziti to the fettucine was excellent. And try the kahlula Oreo cheesecake. Unreal!

    I rarely feel strongly enough about a restaurant or any vendor to take time out to write a review. I'm making the effort for Bella's! Never in my life have I had a better bread stick. They are incredible! The four of us tried to figure out how they made them throughout the dinner and for several days after during our vacation! The marinara and herb butter served with the bread sticks are perfect as well. All of us thoroughly enjoyed our dinner, drinks, dessert, coffee, the ambiance, music, decor and service of this wonderful restaurant. We live in Atlanta and we were in Savannah for a gold tournament. When we return, Bella's will ALWAYS be on the top of our list for dinner!

    Ambiance : eh. nothing out of this world by any means. A bit of a whole in the wall which sometimes are the most charming, but there wasn't enough authenticity for these guys to pull it off. the wines are priced at $19, $24, or $36. Excellent set up. Really liked it. We had a $19 bottle of Chiante and it was very very good. The caprese salad wasn't terrible and wasn't the best as they used cherry tomatoes. But it was fresh and no real complaints. ok. ok. except this. I asked for balsamic and olive oil and it took a little while to get it so i awaited for it patiently and it took a few minutes. Then, less than 10 minutes later another tables' waitress came over and asked if we were done with it. I asked "is there another in the restaurant?" and she honestly said "no". Huh? Really? Okeeee Dokeee. The meals were really good. a bit salty, but overall flavor and presentation were very very nice. The price wasn't outrageous and the quality of the food was good. I've eaten italian from all corners of the country...and in Italy. I'm no expert, but I have a clue. Go there and you won't be disappointed, but don't expect the authentic real deal.

I actually prefer their steaks to the pasta dishes but that's just me. The breadsticks- everyone keeps raving about are just breadsticks. Mentioning them in a review seems like the equivalent of reviewing chips at a Tex Mex place. Go here instead of the olive garden or whatever.

    We had the fet Alfredo and linguine with white clam sauce. The Alfredo was heavy one the cream light on the cheesiness but it was average. The clam sauce seemed like it came from a can with some fresh parsley thrown on top. The meal came with bread sticks with red sauce the sauce was good sweet with large tomatoe chunks in it. The problems were the portions were very small for the price. The other problem was the cooks were not wearing gloves. Conclusion average quality grub at above average prices if you go try the red sauce.

    Visiting Savannah and got a tip to try this place. Glad I did! Love the independently owned feel, the tasteful but not perfect (like chains) decor, how 3 staff members who saw us walk in told us they'd be right with us, as we saw them scrambling to clean up tables. I hate to be ignored when I walk in to a restaurant. Server was upbeat, energetic and quick. Loved the breadsticks. The meals were very affordable, with a nice range of prices. Food was good, but I gave it 5 stars because the staff and atmosphere were great! Nice job Bella's!

    At the (rather insistent) urging of a coworker, my husband and I finally made it to Bella's to see if it was REALLY as good as she said. I'd had my doubts, but was pleasantly surprised. I love Italian food, and this isn't the type of Italian food I normally choose - it's definitely very American Italian, very cheesy, very fattening - the kind of Italian I would imagine my grandmother would make if she was actually a really good cook and didn't burn everything - but I really liked it a lot. Couldn't finish it, but that's what husband's are for. I'm sure he'd give Bella's the full five stars - I think he's still telling everyone he sees his rave reviews about the place, over a week later. He's in love with this restaurant, another complete convert, just like my co-worker!

    I am originally from Connecticut with parents from New York and New Jersey. Coming from a very italian family I feel that I have a much better sense of what authentic italian food actually should taste like. My experience at this restaurant was far from an authentic Italian restaurant experience. Their red sauce tastes mostly of undercooked onions and their Alfredo sauce was flavorless. The breadsticks taste like savory donuts and the house salad is drenched in a very unpleasant dressing. It tasted as though it had been sitting out all day. The only thing this restaurant has going for it is the mild appearance of an actual authentic Italian restaurant and that there are absolutely no true authentic Italian restaurants remotely close to this area. I really believe that if someone thinks this is how authentic Italian food tastes then they do not know what they are talking about. If you want Italian in savannah then you should try Leoci's or Garabaldi's. Although they are not classic Italian restaurants they are absolutely amazing.

    Visited for a weeknight dinner with the family. Great atmosphere inside and fantastic service, but the food was only mediocre. My daughter's spaghetti and meatballs were tastier than both the evening's special my wife ordered and the chicken fettuccine alfredo I got. I agree about the veggie salad as it is on the bland side but the margherita pizza more than made up for the salad shortcoming. I have to say that the pizza at Bella's could give Vinny's a run for their money!

    Boy this just shows you how experiences can really differ; mine was so different from Russell P's. No waiting, fresh breadsticks (although I think they're pretty nowhere, and I HATE when bread is pre-buttered), and incredibly moist delicious rotisserie chicken. Additionally, we thought the salad was disappointing - not well washed, and had a lot of brown edges. Utensil-cut or not, it should be prepared close enough to serving that I don't want to avoid pieces. It would also be nice if they used field greens rather than simple romaine, but that may be asking too much from a modest establishment. In addition to the chicken, my meal included the salad, a side of ziti and green beans which I asked to have steamed rather than sauteed, and they were happy to accommodate. (Actually they asked me if it was ok to blanch - yes.) My partner was very happy about her stuffed shells which were hot, fresh, and she felt the sauce was first rate. Service: Excellent - our waitress was friendly and attentive, although I admit there wasn't a lot of other customers in the restaurant. Value: Excellent -- a lot of food as well as variety within the meal. And as Evan P has pointed out, their wine pricing scheme is a smart marketing tool. Perhaps it was just that we were lucky and went early to avoid the crowds. It was our first visit and we plan to go back soon with friends to see how they do at a busier time.
