Having visited Savannah several times, we have returned to Anna's for the delicious Chicken Parmesan. I would also give a thumbs up for the blackened fish sandwich with the potato salad...yum! We enjoyed very pleasant service and will be back to sample more of the menu.

We went inside to find the hostess and was immediately overpowered with an unidentifiable bad smell. We were directed to sit outside at a dirty, sticky table, and I had to retrieve menus myself. When the server finally brought water over, there was dirt inside my glass. Waited another 20 minutes for her to come back to take a good order, and she told me since they were out of pizza dough, they were preparing pizzas on tortillas. If I wanted a quesadilla, I would have stayed home. We ended up asking for the check for the drinks, and we are still sitting here ten minutes later. Just ignore this place. Looks cute on the outside, but looks are deceiving. ---Edit: We gave up waiting for the server and just put cash on the table. This got her attention right away. She pointed to my friend's beer and said it was $3, and my friend passed the server a $5. The server took the money and didn't even say thank you or ask if change was needed. She really expected a $2 tip for the shitty minimal service given? Wow. The balls on some people.

Nothing really to write home about. Spotty glassware and spotty silverware (poor rinsing process?). As others have mentioned, it does have a strong odor inside (smelled like bad BO). Wait time for drinks and taking our order was a bit long, but our server, despite making a point of not wanting to be there, was indeed friendly and talkative, and once she did get there, things did go somewhat smoothly. Disappointing on drink refills though - few and far between. They were out of pizza, and my 'tween was unhappy with that. Our server offered to buy her a pizza for her birthday if we came back the next day. The seafood pasta dish I had was okay, but not spectacular. Overall, it wouldn't be our first choice to return to with the options available all over the historic district, but it's not a horrible option either. If there is a next time, I expect I'll stay outside to avoid that awful smell.

The food was decent at this place, but nothing to write home about. We were approached by a waitress who said "what you want",instead of a friendly greeting. I asked her if the Greek salad came with potato salad. She said" no, it's just a regular Greek salad". I thought regular Greek salads had potato salad. It took about 40 minutes to get our food, and we were never checked on or given refills.

A-Ok. Exactly. I don't know what the fuss is all about on both ends. No, this will not be the best place you eat in Savannah, but it definitely won't be the worst either. It won't be the most expensive place you dine. For me, the quality of food here almost reflects the price for the most part. The waiters and waitresses are always courteous to me- and I can base this off of at least 15 visits. Its nothing to write home about, but it doesn't deserve one star. One and two stars should be the poorest of poor, which I could name a few.

If only...like so many other reviewers have lamented...we had checked yelp before getting seated here. It seemed like such a cute place to stop while checking out the art galleries at City Market. I still don't fully understand exactly what this place's issue is. It's in a great location in a nice building, and the menu itself even sounds good. The people running the place just don't seem to give a crap for some reason. On the inside, it even feels like someone made an effort to provide a nice dining experience. There are tablecloths, a wine bar area, and nice music playing. But to start with, most of the service was abysmal. There were like five or six employees all standing around looking like they were just hanging out and socializing with each other. The hostess (I'm assuming that's who sat us) acted like us being there was a gigantic inconvenience for her, and literally threw the menus down on the table. She was the one who took our orders, but after that we were waited on by a young man who was very courteous and nice. I will give credit where credit is due...he was nice, but we were still in a bit of shock from the irrationally unfriendly reception we received. The food, unfortunately, was mostly just as awful. I ordered fried shrimp, and we also split a meatball pizza. The shrimp was decent, but the pizza was completely beyond help. It came out with the crust burnt (and not just a little, but fully carbonized), while the center of it was somehow still room temperature. It tasted like it had been pre-made, frozen, and then slapped under a broiler for a few minutes. To make a long story short...this place looks tempting and convenient, but don't waste your money.

I had a hard time rating this restaurant. The first time we were there was a Saturday afternoon and the food was amazing. Naturally I went back, this time on a weekday around closing and the exact same dish was terrible. Since I loved it so much I did try it again and it was pretty good (same dish again). I had the same waiter all three times and he was really nice and very accommodating. My daughter wants to go back so I am willing to give it another shot.

Awful. Complete garbage. We stopped here to have lunch, and we're literally confronted by an over-aggressive hostess. Once we were seated, she took apart the four top we were sitting at, scooted it 6 inches apart, and then sat another couple right next to us. I was literally rubbing elbows with the lady next to me. Mind you, there were tons of empty tables open. Even though that couple got up and left, we decided to stay and give them a try. We ordered out soups, she crab and french onion. When I tried the she crab I almost got sick. I eat she crab soup wherever I go. This one tasted like someone dumped a pound of sugar in it, and the vegetables were still raw. I could only take a few bites before giving up. The server didn't ask why I didn't finish the bowl, so I didn't tell him. I asked for the check and we left promptly. Don't waste your money here! It's awful and filled with rude employees.

On our recent trip to Savanah, we had the chance to get away sans kids thanks to my mom and sister. So with that, I had every intention of trying B&D Burger near the Market. Of course, with that, I commited a college football sin. I forgot Savannah was a Bulldog town. I also neglected to remember that it was a Saturday night. I am a huge college football fan. I should have known better. With that, we arrived in the middle of the game against LSU. This made things even more hairy as Georgia was in a tight game with their SEC rival. So, B&D was filled up for at least an hour and a half. Of course, the backup plan was Wild Wing which was even more packed. So before giving up, we went to check out what else the market had. I saw Anna's and noticed there were seats. I pulled it up on Yelp and notice mixed reviews. Furthermore, I wasn't really interested in Itallian food in Savannah. In my experience, Itallian food and pizza just plain suck the further south you get. There are exceptions, of course, but not many. Also, Anna's looked like a hole in the wall, which it is. So, with limited options, we went there anyway. There weren't many options and there were seats open. Right away, we decided to sit outside as there was more seating and it sorta gave off a romantic feel. The lighting was dim as the sun went down and the atmosphere of the post game party atmosphere was wafting in. I have read reviews that claim bad service. We didn't experience that. Our waiter as very attentive and did a great job. I ordered a house salad which came in a shell. I also ordered an Sam Adams Octoberfest, which was on tap. The salad was fresh and the taco shell was seemingly not overdone or stale. So far, so good. For the main course, my wife and I both ordered the Chicken Parmesan with fettucini alfredo. Somewhat different from typical Chicken Parmesan which is with a red sauce and spaghetti. When it came to the table, it looked good enough. It also came with a piece of garlic bread on the plate. So, it passed the look test. Upon a few bites, it passed the taste test. The chicken was slightly juicy but cooked to perfection. The taste of the fettucini actually worked well with the rest of the meal. So, I definitely wouldn't say it was the best Italian meal I had, it was pretty good. Add the atmosphere, the town and market itself, and the good service and I can recommend Anna's. It is one of the best Italian joints I have eaten at south of Virginia, anyway. They have a younger crowd working here. It is nice to see at a place like this. I hope they are around for a long time to come as I will not hesitate to return on my future trips to Savannah.

We had an awesome waiter, he was very friendly and welcoming. That was the only good thing about our visit. French onion soup: So salty it wasn't edible. Italian sausage and pepper sandwich: Lukewarm meat, soggy bun. We only paid $45 during dinner for three of us to eat, but I'd recommend skipping this place. It wasn't worth it and we won't be back.

Much as I hate to do it I have to give this restaurant a bad review. I am usually pretty easy to please and both my wife and I were hungry so any food was going to taste at least decent. We are in Savannah for the week and we were just looking for a reasonably priced meal. We were seated immediately and given the choice of inside or outside seating. Mistake one was sitting inside. They are badly in need if some renovations. I ordered a simple bacon cheeseburger and my wife ordered a salad with Cajun shrimp and a crab dip that came with garlic bread. The shrimp had a good flavor but the cucumbers and lettuce in the salad were old and far from appetizing. She asked for lettuce, cucumbers, and onions but her salad came out with cheese all over it. They replaced the salad and things were right and better on the second try. Our entrees came out and the crab dip tasted bad and barely had any crab in it. It was also to clumpy and the garlic bread was soggy. My burger came out and was cooked exactly how I wanted it. It had a good flavor but the bun it came on was the size of a McDonalds burger bun. When ordering a burger in a restaurant I don't thinks it's to much to ask for a decent size bun. If you want a burger go around the corner to the Distillery. Better atmosphere and way better food. This should be at least a two star review but the mistakes combined with my food being decent and hers being atrocious took it down to one.

Ahh why didn't I check yelp first! Savannah visitors avoid this place on city market. The food is very subpar so don't waste a meal here. Burgers are super overcooked and tiny. Their pasta is tasteless. Their drink selection is poor. And the service was not nearly as friendly as you would expect in savannah. The prices are cheap but that is because the food is too. Go elsewhere as you may be disappointed if you go to Anna's just because of the outdoor seating on the market.

  • Renee E.

Hubby and I had lunch here after the trolley tour. I should have known the moment we walked up this was going to be marginal. There was outdoor and indoor seating. The hostess who obviously was put out about something said we couldn't eat out. The table available was a four top nd she couldn't pull it apart. So inside we went. She said you can pick any of the three center tables and went back out to stand by the door. Probably to guard that table. We ordered a cheeseburger and fries to split. The waiter was ok. Fries came cold ice tea was bitter. He did bring a second plate. Never came back to see if everything was ok. They must keep in business simply due to location.

  • K F.

It was empty for dinner except for a dirty table they sat me at, and the bug that crawled up my chair. When I got my chicken parm there was a metal shard in it, not from foil or I wouldn't have said anything. Ended up getting my meal for free...

  • Greg I.

Horrible in so many ways, marginal food lackluster service and a total indifference to their customers . Sadly, ignored the other Yelp reviews and stopped in due to the weather . Risk the rain and find a better place.

  • Jessica N.

Food is awesome and such good prices! The fried mushrooms are delicious and my crab ravioli was the best I've ever had! Great service clean and right in the heart of Savannah yummmmmmm

  • Charms F.

Surprisingly good! We were walking around the city market looking for a place for dinner on a Friday night. Anna's seems to be the one that was not too crowded so we gave it a shot. The hubby had the ravioli crab and I had the clam pasta with marinara sauce. Both tasted delicious! Our server was very friendly and it only took 15mins. to get our order. We sat outside which I think a lot nicer than sitting inside!

  • Glen M.

We had lunch at Anna's. My wife had a house salad and fried scallops. While the salad was good and the blue cheese dressing excellent, the scallops were overcooked and probably started as frozen. I had a Italian sausage sandwich with peppers & onions. The bread was surprisingly good for a location far outside of Philadelphia. The fries were fresh and crispy. The service was slow. Overall, this restaurant is indifferent, no better than 3 stars.

  • Ralph D.

The menu looks good, fun, and enexpensive...But I should have read the reviews first. My wine was old and flat....and the server hadn't even heard of it when I ordered it. That should have been sign #1. I ordered the Italian sausage pizza...don't. The crust is more of a pita bread base, and it took awhile to realize it's all from a box w a chef on the cover, next to his spaghetti and meatballs. They did throw a lot of peppers and two sausage links on it, but go to any one of the 5 pizzareias in the area. My friend had a chicken wrap, just barely hot chicken, and her German potato salad was the weirdest Luke warm temp. We felt safe with the pizza, since we knew it came mostly from a box.

Gordon Ramsay needs to pay this place a visit. It's the perfect candidate for a Kitchen Nightmares makeover. Mildly edible food. Amateurish attempt at creating an Italian atmosphere. Filthy dining room - I'm sure the kitchen is a horror show. We came here for breakfast, passing up the perfectly good restaurant across the plaza for something a little more modest. At first glance I thought they were going for some sort of shabby chic vibe in the dining room, but look closer and you'll see it's just plain shabby. We chose to sit outside. The tables were wobbly and kinda grimy. The menus were coated in crud (gross). There were only a few parties sitting out there with us, some of them left before their food even made it to the table. They were the smart ones. The service wasn't rude, but not outstanding by any means either. Everyone's food was taking forever even though the dining area was mostly empty. As for the food, I can't speak for the dinner options but breakfast was sub-par. The menu consisted of mostly omlettes (probably made from last week's leftover pizza toppings), and not much else. Our entrees arrived swimming in grease. For my omlette, the chef couldn't be bothered to properly beat the eggs. It looked more like a pile of poorly scrambled eggs with some bacon folded into it. The grits were bland and flavorless. No kidding, our table was so wobbly, my friend had to lay down a napkin to sop up the grease slick slowly streaming off the side of his plate. It was kind of comical. We reluctantly ate our barely edible food, paid our bill and got out of there as soon as we could. You would have to be high to enjoy eating at this place.

  • Chloe P.

Horrible service from the waiters. They never came back and asked us anything like "doing alright?" Or "need anything?". Their uniforms are really dirty and gross, they are really loud and noisy, just no. Plus inside, it is very crowded and there are random things all over the place. My mother stared at the trash can behind me the whole time while she was eating. The food was not good. The burger was very dry, the house salad was just an ordinary salad , nothing special at ALL . And it was in a weird tortilla bowl... The pizza was ok. The only thing I really like was the fries and the water. Don't go here.

I and my friends went for lunch at Anna's. It's an ok place and found the place to have an awful smell. The She Crab soup was a wrong choice. The person serving the food could have been bit more courteous.

  • Matt C.

Wow service was rough here. You think with a name like Anna's you get some great service. Don't make any special request because it is not happening. Food was okay but nothing special. Keep walking you have other options in the city market.

  • Kevin S.

I'm not sure how this place has so few stars. I've only been here once but my wife and I both loved what we ordered. The chicken Parmesan is amazing. Staff was friendly and helpful, location is great for outdoor seating, and the prices were fine as well. If you're walking through this section of town, grab a bite!

    (5)
  • Jay F.

Don't let the menu fool you. This not a great place to stop. I wish I had checked the reviews before we ate here. The service was average but my pizza was below average. I ordered the pepperoni pizza and it looked and tasted like it came from a box. I think a Red Baron frozen pizza would have been better. My wife had the Philly cheesesteak and she said it was good. With all of the other local places to eat here, we will not be back to Anna's.

    (2)
  • Caleb M.

I'm not sure why everyone is giving this place such bad reviews... OK I will agree that the staff was socializing and goofing of some but it was a slow night and it was just my wife and I and one other couple there. Our waiter was very friendly and courteous. I ordered the Chicken Parmesan with Fettuccine Alfredo and got an enormous portion which was absolutely delicious! Best I've ever had! My wife got the Spaghetti and Meatballs which was also enormous and very good. Anyways... The prices won't break you and the food was fantastic. 5stars

Arrived in savannah on a business trip and was looking for something quick. Anna's was nearby and not too busy....which was the first sign. Service was okay. Server was very attentive but over the top and too in your face where it became overwhelming. Food was fairly priced but tasted like it came from the pre-made deli section of a grocery store. I wouldn't go back.

    (2)
  • Becca P.

Went there despite the negative reviews. Service was fine. Seating outside was available on a nice day, so that was nice. My husband got the crab stuffed shrimp, it was swimming in a bowl of butter and the crab tasted like pure filling. I got the stuffed shells in marinara and it had a one inch ring around the bowl of pure grease. And the shells were over cooked and soggy. I would avoid it.

    (2)
  • Kevin N.

Food was good and that is the only thing that earned this 2 stars. We ordered a shrimp fettuccini Alfredo and requested chicken on spaghetti and was told very quickly that "we don't have that. You'll have to order it separate". They ended up getting us the chicken like we wanted but clearly didn't want to oblige. Feel free to eat here because the food IS good, but be prepared to put up with an "inconvenienced" wait staff.

Run. Did I say run DO. iT. Absolute waste of my hard earned $$$. Form service to food. Wish I could give it zero stars

  • Kelly K.

Don't let the high prices fool you! Turn around and walk across the street to somewhere else. Trust me...this place is one of the dirtiest establishments I've ever been to. Spider webs hanging over my head, dirty refrigerator sitting right in the main dining areas along with an assortment of boxes that used to contain the "home made Italian" food stuff. I browsed the menu and decided on a Philly with German Potato Salad. This is the kind of place that you would go to for carb loading...everything on the menu is carbs. I left hungry and feeling like I needed a shower. Sitting in a dining room surrounded by equally looking miserable patrons, I drank 4 sweet teas and just tried my best to make it through this experience. I'm convinced any reviews with any stars above "1" are made by employees or patrons too drunk and starved to realize what is happening. My wallet was raped and I'm still hungry. The lack of ability to eat the food stuff they unceremoniously plopped down in front of me was a combination of rubbery beef, flavorless potato salad and the general filth I was surrounded by. City Market needs to find a new restaurantuer to take over this place...it's truly an embarrassment and a black eye to Savannah. Never again. Please heed my advice.

Stopped here while visiting Savannah. Pizza had shredded American cheese on it, can't really explain the bread/crust. Ellios is better. Even the French fries were bad. Pass on this place.

    (1)
  • Nate W.

Food was bland and the service was eh. We had a group of 8. I ordered the French onion soup which was very salty....and I am a salt lover. In contrast the burger I ordered was hardly seasoned and over cooked! Across from me some companions of mine had two pasta dishes which were reported to me as bland and lackluster. That said this place is in a great location, but I would try somewhere else instead.

    (2)
  • Jeffery D.

My wife had she crap soup, stuffed shrimp and "German" potato salad. Portions are large. She said it was ok. I had fried fish sampler and potato salad. Crab cake not seasoned and fish was very soft. Not worth the cost.

  • Teresa L.

We didn't read the Yelp reviews until after we ordered our breakfast. We sat on the heated patio, so I didn't see the interior of the restaurant. We weren't expecting a great experience after reading the reviews. Our cute waiter was friendly and attentive. I ordered shrimp and grits and my date ordered my date ordered a pastry. My grits were lumpy, but they were good. The shrimp was good. It was A-OK.

  • Alex R.

not a bad place. all in my party enjoyed their meals. the house salad was large for its size in a taco bowl. the baked ziti was pretty big size as well but pretty good. everyone liked the burgers they order and the sweet tea was nice as well

  • Gabby M.

Not worth our time or money. We ended up here on a cold night and were desperately hungry. The menu looked decent so we decided to try it out. The hostess wasn't all that friendly and seemed annoyed that we questioned sitting outside. Luckily she put us right under a heater. We both started with the French onion soup which was just ok. It was loaded with salt - yuck! We shared the crab cakes which were awful. Extremely mushy and obviously frozen not fresh. We barely touched them and I think our waiter knew they were bad because he never asked how it was. If you think about stopping here, keep on moving. There's some great places right around the corner.

  • Donna B.

We had the fried shrimp hoagie and it was fantastic.... Very nice young man was our waiter, food came out fast, so a great stop on the City Market for a bite!

  • Jodi B.

Walking through city market and we stopped here after reading the menu. The fried zucchini that they had on special was delicious which gave me a false hope that the rest of the meal would be delicious. We had the crab dip with toasted bread and a fish sandwich with potato salad. The fish was good but nothing special. I was super disappointed with the crab dip when it came out along side some cheesy greasy hoagie roll looking thing. I was very confused because I was expecting toasted bread of some for and this was just mushy oil soaked bad cheese bread that I was supposed to use to dip in my cheese based crab dip. When the waitress noticed I wasn't eating much I told her why and she said 'oh let me get you some other bread' thinking she'd come back with toasted bread...nope. Garlic rolls. Which were delicious and way more appetizing than the other bread but still.... So I ate a roll and called or a day. Also, the dip want that great. I wouldn't have known it was crab dip if I didn't order it myself.

The atmosphere of the place was more cozy outside than inside. It was quite crowded with shipping boxes out in the open area and a rack full of miscellaneous items that didnt vibe well with the atmosphere. The waitstaff was nice except this odd ball server that had an unzip hoodie over is "uniform" totally looked like a guy off the street and not a restaurant server. The food was pretty good and served quite fast. Not a bad place, but Olive Garsen shouldn't worry about competition.

OK, so, where to start. I'm an Italian food snob. I really, really care a lot about Italian food. That having beens said, I like this place, though it's not really outstanding. I've been there twice - once last year and once this year, both times when I was in town with my wife and friends, who were running in the Rock-N-Roll Marathon. Last year, I had shrimp scampi, which I did not like, because the shrimp was overcooked. This year, I had linguini with clam sauce, which was outstanding. Last year, my wife had something she liked, but this year she had a "pizza" which was terrible. The place is small and crummy, which is was a good Italian place is usually like. It reminds me of the kind of place I'd eat at in NYC - a hole in the wall with good food. But, the place is in a touristy area (City Market) and isn't so outstanding as to make the crummy-ness appealing. They've got a limited set of wines, some beer, etc. I'll go back next year, I think. It's fine.

We happened upon Anna's City Market while walking around Savannah looking for somewhere to eat. It turned out to be an ok decision. We were seated outside with only about a 5 min wait while the hostess checked to see if there were any open tables. It seems to be a very small restaurant though with a larger outdoors seating than indoors. There was a good flow of customers, but nothing too hectic. However, the waitstaff seemed pretty flustered and rushed at times. The food was good. My friends had the bayou chicken and a cheesy tortellini. My mom and I split the sauteed vegetables, she crab soup, and a seafood platter. The bayou chicken and tortellini were good. I had a bite of tortellini and it almost dissolved in my mouth. The sauteed vegetables were delicious. I really liked whatever they had seasoned it with. The she crab soup was not the best. It was very watery and oddly sweet. The seafood platter was ok. Everything was really salty and the crab cake was really mushy. It looked a little undercooked. I didn't pull shells out while I was eating so that's a plus. Overall, an ok experience. I would come back to try out some of their other stuff and check out the inside if I could.

Dog Friendly. Our group of three brought two dogs to the outside patio this evening. Excellent service from our waiter. Water was filled constantly. I ordered Anna's Burger, which has marinara sauce and provolone cheese on top of a delicious burger. Different and tasty. My two girl friends had the sea food sampler and chicken wrap. They all loved it. Just a nice place. I'd definitely go back for another one of those marinara burgers. MMMMM

I've driven by the exit for Savannah for the last 30 years. I have no idea why I've never stopped by to check it out, but I won't miss the chance to visit again. What a cool town. We decided on Anna's after walking around and checking out the menus of over places. Glad we decided on Anna's. I had the Cajun shrimp and grits which was delicious with a great mix of flavors. My guest had the crab ravioli with alfredo sauce. It had flavorful chunks of crab with cheese-filled ravioli. Adding fresh parmesan was a nice touch. I made sure to grab a couple of tastes of it, and was glad I had the chance to check it out. I'd definitely stop at Anna's again when in town. Atmosphere: 4 Service: 3 Food: 4 Value: 4

I had high hopes for this restaurant. I came here on advice from a friend of mine who raved about it. I ordered the shrimp and grits which is one of my favorite meals however when it arrived it was by Marge coated with cheese and sopping with grease. It was subpar at best. For the price there's much better food in Savannah to be had.

Go for seafood aug gratin! Yummy! She crab was extra sweet :-( but service was good and fast service. Bathrooms shared with city center. It's an okay place. Outside looks really nice and all is very warm. Inside small and outside bigger.

Sunday night in Savannah, and we had no idea that practically the entire town, shuts down by 6:00 pm. Had we known this before, an early dinner would have been in order. So, with not much of a choice, we reluctantly sat down for dinner at Anna's. I tried very hard to overlook the less-than-clean condition of the place. The fact that we were seated at a table with a dirty tablecloth, pretty much says it all. Only as we stood back, did someone come over to change it. This place seems to be run by amatures...kids, who have no clue, and couldn't really care less. As I write this review, I question whether it should be one star, but at least they put an edible product on the table. Not good, but at least edible. My advice? If you're in the same situation, just wait for breakfast! No second chances for this place!

Forgot half the order. Service ranged from slow to non existent. Food overcooked. Staff more concerned with looking hipster than preparing or serving food. Wouldn't recommend and won't return. Skip this one. Better options in the area.

Odd little place in the market. Although my husband loved his meatballs, I thought my sausage and peppers were average. The place is not the cleanest. Fries are re-dipped. Prices were reasonable. Not sure I would return though.

I had the blackened seafood platter and thought it was good. The prices were reasonable compared to every restaurant around them. We sat outside and had attentive and friendly service. Would do it again.

Limited inside seating but the menu has a variety if choices. Overall it is a good deal for the price.

The worst experience of my life, truly tragic. We got our food in 45 minutes. The service was horrible and we only saw out server when she took our order and brought the food out. The food was awful!! The scallops were small and garlic-y. The French onion soup was a horrible punishment to my stomach. It was pure salt. The crab cakes were like canned tuna. I do recommend the vegetables. Will not be returning here. Bad feelings.

Grabbed a quick bite because we had a Restaurant.com coupon. Sat outside since the AC wasn't working inside. Waitress seemed distracted and not attentive but decent. One of the plates and forks we received had food dried and stuck on it. Once the bill came we were told we could not use our coupon because it was on our phone and not a paper copy, even tho it is a mobile app. We spoke with a very uneducated manager who told us the same. We will now have to try and get a refund on the Restaurant.com site. We will not eat here again.

The staff was not friendly and easily flustered. Our waiter was very annoyed that I had a question about the menu and said noting on the menu could be altered. They either realized they were being rude or saw us on Yelp on our phones because they suddenly started being more friendly and gave us a free side item. The food was good but I won't go back because of the unpleasant staff.

She crab was cloyingly sweet, seafood sampler a bit over seasoned but good crab cake & fish. Priced cheap for area so overall acceptable.

Not a place to go for breakfast. Walked in. The place was cold and the cold metal seats didn't help. We then decided to order two cappuccinos and two Danishes to go. The cappuccino comes grime a junky machine right from Walmart. The Danishes we were about to get are the same u get from a 7-11 but they sell them for 5 times the price. We saw them before they unwrapped them and turned them down. Go down the block to goose feathers. Worth every penny!

We ordered three pizzas and a bowl of She Crab soup. The soup was excellent, service was ok but that was it. All three pizzas were sub-par: soggy pizza dough, the sauce could use more flavor, toppings were not warm enough, a big no-no for any seafood dishes. Big disappointment.

Fantastic little spot, friendliest place I've visited in savannah which is saying something. Seafood is out of this world, try the She Crab soup!

The service was terrible. The waitress never came back to the table after serving us our food. I got the turkey club croissant. I could not eat it. We sat and kept waiting to get our check. Finally I just went inside and tracked down the waitress. Definitely would not go back. It also looked dirty inside.

We went to Anna's on a whim in the City Market, and it was amazing! My wife and I both had pasta, and we both enjoyed it very much (some of the best I've ever had). Definitely tasted fresh and home made. The service was great, as well. And it was very reasonably priced. We were told that the owner cooks with his grandmother's recipes. We would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great meal and great service at a great price!

The atmosphere of this place was really fun! We sat outside, and it almost had a family style feel. The waiter was very nice, and knowledgable of the menu. Unfortunately MY food was rather mediocre. The crab cakes were 75% breading, and the rice pilaf was nothing special. With that being said said my friends pasta pomodoro was delicious!! Full of veggies and perfectly cooked pasta. If you want a great meal, don't go here, but if you want a fun atmosphere it is a great choice.

If you or your child had any food allergies try and stay away from this place. Our daughter has food allergies (shrimp, tree nuts) and within 2 minutes of eating her chicken pasta she threw up. It is clearly because their kitchen does not care about sharing utensils. No one cared to apologize but actually made faces!

When we stopped here, we weren't exactly close to home. Our journey to the beautiful Savannah, Georgia was long and tiresome until we showed up at Anna's. All we wanted was some pizza and drinks, simple and quick to help carry us back to our nearby hotel. What we got was so much more and so much better than expected. Our waiter wasn't chatty, which was good because we were in dire need of food, not chit-chat. We ordered a cheese pizza, a veggie pizza, and a chicken parm. By the way we wolfed everything down, you would've thought we couldn't have tasted anything. The chicken parm was flavorful and well-seasoned, and for a large and fulfilling sandwich, the price was excellent. As the two pizzas were cheesy and delightful. The crust was chewy, and a little crispy, and on the veggie pizza, it had the cutesy little mushrooms which i enjoy very much. The price, for the 5 of us, was like a dream. Nothing in Long Island is ever that good for the price. I know this sounds completely cliche, especially for a pizza place of all places, (here goes!) Anna's gave us true southern hospitality, and that is why we will be recommending it to all of our friends down south and up north. :)

Great spot to grab a bit without blowing the budget. Food on a scale 0 to 10 is about a 8, service a 9.

Stay away unless you have LOTS of time. 4 of us were there on a Monday in March at 12:45 and waited ONE HOUR to get a veggie pizza (on tortillas, not a baked crust) and 2 Phillie Cheese steaks . Waitress was less than attentive and offered little more than a weak "Sorry". Yes the food was good, but certainly not worth the wait!

Went here for lunch with my three children and husband. Our server was very sweet, gave suggestions around the city, refilled drinks quickly, etc. The problem came when all meals except mine came to the table. My children and husband ate while I was waiting for mine, due to a "mix up" with the cook. As mine was delivered, and I must add, my children and husband were all done eating, I asked if this meal would be credited. Our server said yes, then came back a few minutes later and said that the cook would only offer a credit if I returned the meal. I handed over the burger I had waited for, with two bites taken and said, fine, take it back. I still cannot believe the lack of customer service for their error, and the way it was handled. It has been two days now, and I am still flabbergasted at how their management could be in business. The food was overall mediocre, we had burgers, a Philly and spaghetti. The meatballs were very good- probably because I was starving and ate my daughters leftovers while waiting for my dinner....I truly hope the management reads this review and changes the way they handle their own errors.

Food was great... Service was horrible!!! Our server was rude, brought the check out twice, both times was incorrect. Kept charging us for things we didn't even order. Asked for the manager, he kept apologizing, comp'd the meal. We gave the manager a tip. Then we had another server chase us down after we left, to apologize for our service. They did say they had several complaint that day on the the server, so hopefully the situation was taken care of. But due to the actions of the others there, we will be back.

Our first meal in Savannah- upon our arrival (there were 8 of us) there was no wait here (big hint) and all the other places were packed. Run- don't walk to another place. The waitress was annoyed to be asked for a table. She had to pull in two additional chairs- she would have rather stuck to reading her Bath and Beyond catelog which was spread out on a table that she stayed seated at, When asked her recommendations- she talked down most dishes as being small portioned. She recommended shrimp and cheesy grits. The grits were loaded with big lumps of dry crumbly uncooked grits powder. It came with 5 shrimp and a dry roll. Each in our party had a different item-and all were dissapointed. The table was sticky, the menu sticky, it did not feel clean. The kitchen area could be seen from our table and it was dirty- This was hands down the worst place in Savannah- which is full of wonderful local places at better prices. All this has going for it is a location shared by many others. We were never greeted, not one smile...it was memorable for all the wrong reasons.

Where do I start? Let's see: the menu was stained, the lighting was dim and the bread that was sent out on my dish and my daughters dishes that had mold on it. This place was disgusting. My little cousin said that her calzone was disgusting, which would explain why she only ate 1/4 of it. We didn't pay for the meals, but just our drinks. While the manager was not rude, me having to tell her that I wasn't paying for my meals should not have happened. She should have automatically come over and said that when she learned of the mold on my food. NEVER GO TO THIS RESTAURANT! There are a few others down the way that are probably much nicer!

First and foremost, I would not recommend this to anyone in the city market area, there are plenty of other options which I am certain would be better tasting. Now on to the details. The service was fine, no problems there. Drink order came quick and refills were always given without having to ask for them. That's about the only thing going for this place. I ordered the she crab soup, which I've tried two other places in Savannah before trying it here (Boar's Head and Rocks on the River) and it was definitely sub-par. The vegetables in it (celery) needed to be sweat longer to soften it and avoid random crunchiness and there was a sweetness that was a little over-the-top for me. I got the pepperoni pizza for my meal because I haven't had pizza for a few months and I've been craving it for a while. The first clue should of been when we walked in and I told the hostess I really wanted pizza and she said they (Vinnie van go go's) didn't open til noon. If you aren't familiar with the area, directly next door is a pizza place called Vinnie van go go's. Nonetheless I wanted to try and satisfy the craving. Big mistake. The pizza I got was almost identical to the Chef Boyardee pizzas from the kit. The crust was very doughy and chewy and the sauce mediocre at best. I tried to get mushrooms added, but apparently the mushrooms come mixed with other vegetables so they can't add them to the pizza. That probably means they come frozen... Anyways the pizza was extremely greasy and tasted gross. I left more than half of mine on the plate which I would never even consider doing at any other pizza place. My wife order a wrap with fries which was, judging by the fact that she was finished after about 3 bites, not very good either. She said the fries reminded her of a school cafeteria. I felt very disappointed when the check came and realized I was paying 30 dollars for food that I barely ate. I wanted to warn everyone that I saw walking toward the place to steer clear, but felt bad about doing it with the hostess sitting right next to me. So, let this be your warning, avoid this place at all cost or prepare to be disappointed.

We were wandering through Savannah, got hungry and decided to stop in. We probably should have kept wandering. The food was meh, I've had worse, but I've had better way more often. Both orders were brought out wrong. No onions should be simple. Don't put onions on a hamburger. Not hard to do, but there were onions on it. No cheese on the salad. Not hard. Salad came with cheese. We sent it back and it came back out looking completely different with greasy red peppers that wasn't there before. Very strange! I went inside to use the bathroom and was told there was one upstairs at the gift shop next door. Huh?!!! very strange! Another couple sat down at a table next to us and asked if they could move to a bigger table. The hostess said she couldn't seat two at a table for four. Well, if it was crowded I might almost understand that, but there were about 10 open tables. Very strange. We chuckled, but we won't be back. Looks like there are lots of good places to eat in City Market. I will say the waitress gave me a cup to carry my ice tea out because it was hot today. It was cool today, but I took the cup. Strange place!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
