Nice place, off the main drag. Here on a Saturday night and the place is almost empty. Not sure why...the food is fresh and delicious. We had the buffet which was great but saw the steaks which were large. Nice drinks too.

A group of us were in Quitman for a football playoff game and we found this place on Yelp. We happened to be there on seafood buffet night. Everything was amazing! Between us we tried everything available and no one had a bad thing to say about any of it. The hushpuppies, shepherd's pie and bread pudding were particular favorites. We actually came in early but were welcomed by all the employees, how refreshing. James the owner even came out to talk to us, super nice guy. Highly recommended!

I am happy to post review number 4. Quitman is a small GA town and the folks here are so friendly. The menu is a bit limited, but all the food is delicious. I will be back!!

Yummy food! From scratch just like you cook it at home! Great burgers and cut French fries. Another person at my table had the lunch special with a hot yeast roll and tasty veggies. They gave us a menu for dinner and the hand cut steaks and seafood buffet on the weekends. Definitely would recommend.

In my quest to not set foot in a "chain restaurant" this year, my foodie buddies and I chanced upon Wiregrass Restaurant in the little town of Quitman, GA. The town is extremely small but not uncommon, I assume, in these parts. Downtown sports an ancient city hall (1700s?) with a bandstand for Sunday gatherings. But, alas, today it was devoid of any foot traffic. I don't consider myself a snob when confronted with the appearance of a restaurant but this struck me as an anomaly. So we ducked into this old mercantile building and stepped into what looked like a "trendy restaurant". It's exposed brick on the inside and huge abstract paintings were impressive but what about the food? At first glance, the menu for lunch looked mediocre, a couple of hot lunch items mostly involving pork, salad buffet, soup and cold sandwiches. Once we sat the aromas of the kitchen started wafting through the restaurant. Suddenly we were hungry. We glanced around us and most of the patrons were ordering the special of the day. Yes, it involved pork but never mind that. It was the sides that made it more special....sauteed cabbage with bacon, green beans, yams, sweet potato fries...shall I go on? Southern food connoisseurs would be nodding their heads about now. Yes, I am definitely a fan and the price of my meal did not disappoint. It was very, very affordable. I plan on having dinner there at some point (rib-eyes here I come!) and I am sure it would be equally fantastic. If you are on a diet I suggest you keep walking. LOL!

Every time we are in town we eat lunch here because the food is always great! Have had the smothered pork chops, steak tips, spaghetti and BBQ and all were very tasty. The vegetable choices are always good too!

Did not expect to find such a restaurant in such a small town. Great service and great food with a delicious home-cooked feel. Very relaxed and comfortable. (Wasn't there when the upstairs bar was open, however)
