Sadly, this place is never full, but it has managed to stay afloat for years. The food is incredible. I always eat empanadas, their fish filet dinner, and/or mango pie to finish up. The cuban sandwiches are also very authentic. This is real cuban food that my Cuban friends from Miami loved too. Do yourself a favor and go here. It is a little pricey but reasonable. Treat yourself and keep this gem alive!

This is a place originally introduced to me by a coworker some time ago. Since then, I've frequented here still, and today, while back home in Atlanta (having moved 700 miles), it was our first stop after leaving the airport! Their grilled fish fillet with diced onions and a side of chimichurri sauce (the delicious green sauce in the cup) is amazing mixed in the rice and the fish combined just is fantastic! I've literally craved this meal weekly since moving out of state over a year ago. The chicken empanadas are equally wonderful as a start. And the sweet plantains are a nice finish. We've had dessert here as well in the past and haven't been disappointed. Well worth the trip! Staff are lovely, and even recognized us after such a long hiatus. :) Thank you again for a great meal amidst a deceptive strip mall location. What a hidden gem!

I have changed my mind and have decided to give this Cuban restaurant a try for the third time. I was seriously hoping that the third time would be the charm and that their food would have changed for the better. Boy, was I absolutely wrong! I ordered their Cuban Sandwich with fries for the first time last night for dinner. I am going to say that, first off, the French fries tasted like packaged fries. Their Cuban Sandwich lacked flavor. The only thing on the sandwich that I could taste were the pickles. I was most definitely not impressed with their Cuban Sandwich at all. The meat was a little bit tough, in my opinion. The only good thing about this place is the service and the staff. The food is just not good here. I hade made the actual decision that last night would be the last time that I order take out from this place. I sincerely do hope and wish that they would change how they make and cook their own food. However, I honestly highly doubt that their food will ever change and become better. I give this place just one extra star for their excellent customer service and super friendly and helpful staff. I have truly tried so hard to like this place, but I just cannot do it at all.

My fav lunch spot here in Norcross/Peachtree Corners. I've had just about everything on the menu. The tres leche cake is divine. I love the THURSDAY chicken special. Yummers The food is fresh ....made to order and simply delish!!!

I haven't been to this place recently but I have no doubt it's just as tasty as I remember it. The location is quite hidden from the main road in a kind of empty plaza. The restaurant has a nice decor to it, very homey feeling. The first time I went there I had the pork chunks with a side or rice, black beans, and fried plantains. My sister went for the traditional midnight cubano sandwich. Both were a great choice. The pork chucks were in a lightly acidic sauce that complemented the pork very well. The fried plantains were to die for and even the fries were delicious. The second time around, I went with a few friends from out of town and they enjoyed the place as well. The beef empanadas and cuban sandwiches were great but it was the dessert that was beyond amazing. The mango pie and flan were on a new level of dessert goodness. They were creamy and oh so sweet! Overall, a great place with great service and great food at an affordable price.

Went to the Norcross location. Over priced for the kind of food they serve. Soggy bread on my Cuban sandwich. Waiter did not even know about the kids eat free "special" on Wednesday. I had always wondered why that place was always empty and now I know why.

I was sitting contemplating between a 3 or a 2 and to be honest DAMN YOU YELP FOR NO HALF STARS!! Cause in my mind, this place deserves a whopping 2.5 STARS! Starter: 1) Yucca Fries 2) chicken and beef Empanadas The Empanadas were solid, very juicy pieces of mince meat in a savory tomatoe sauce, wrapped with a nicely crispy fried dough . Sadly the Yucca fries felt like they were mashed, seasoned, reshaped and fried.. and it was too oily for my taste. I like my Fritters crispy, golden, and not a hint of OIL! Main Dishes: 1) Cuban Sandwich 2) Pork roasted served w/ rice and black beans Cuban Sandi was a total let down, not pressed or toasted, it tasted like a subway gone bad... The roast pork was alright, nothing to drive out here for.. I'd rather nibble on a mings roast pork even after all those rumors of a kitty situation ( if you know what I mean!) .. The pork was mildly juicy here and there, and some parts were dried as hay! Really was hoping for a splendid experience, especially based on the Yelp reviews by some folks that I think have awesome palates.. maybe it was an off night? Maybe I should come back?? There shall be a 2nd review.. to balance this questionable experience !!

Had the opportunity to try out Palomilla's today for lunch with a group from work. I ordered the grilled fish special (about $9 on the lunch page) - lightly seasoned filet (reminded me of blackened cajun with less spice) served with some chopped onion as garnish, white rice, black beans and four chunks of plantain. The food was excellent with slightly adjusted spices for the typical American palate. Service was excellent - as our group was made up of 10 people with separate checks, we still managed to get in and out in about an hour. I'm looking forward to sampling their other cousine - the roast pork look particularly good. The lunch menu featured less expensive prices and what may have been smaller portions (will check that out in the future) - the average dinner plates were above $10, sandwiches less.

I liked this place for lunch for a long time. A co-worker and myself used to go a lot but it very slowly started to get worse and worse both in customer service and quality of product. The last time we went a condiment we always got with our food (this thimble full of garlic sauce) was an extra 75c on the tab and we sort of realized the place had changed. 75 cents is nothing obviously but it's the fact that it was kind of hidden on our checks when we had literally been there 50 times before where it was free. They changes a few things like the rice and the fish so that the normal Lunch platter went from great to meh. In the end I think this place is a decent lunch but it ruined it for us when we knew how much better they had been before.

I decided to have some Cuban food for lunch as I have not been to this establishment in about a year. My how things have change in that time. Let me start by saying that the waitress/ host was not pleased that I interrupted her phone call. As a patron I walked in and it took her about 3 minutes before she got off her phone. Then her attitude was not very friendly. Fast forward. I ordered a Cuban sandwich and after 2 bites I noticed that we were missing pickles. I informed the waitress that we had no pickles ( after her 2nd phone call) her response to me - Are you sure ? I could not believe my ears. The food here as always been tasty but how do you forget pickles on a Cuban Sandwich. This visit was shocking as the food was not like it use to be and the service was awful. White Bean Soup was full of chunks of fat. Never had it before that way but once removed the soup was tasty. I would give it another try just based on the past. However, this visit was bad

Good stuff ! I am a gringo, but I have a bunch of Latina sisters in law. I love different foods. Their pork entree was really good, a little dry, but I enjoyed it very much. I also got their empanadas and these were awesome --- could have eaten more of these. I see a few comments about them being slow or not attentive, but that was not the case for me. Staff was cool and very nice. I have no problem raising my hand to gesture to a waiter/waitress to come to my table, if I am not receiving prompt service. When the sisters in law get into town, I will take them up here. Rock on Palomilla's !

I don't know what happened...maybe the economy...maybe a pork shortage? All I know is that the Cuban sandwich I had today at Palomilla's was the most disgusting thing I've eaten in ages. Not just bad, but disgusting. The ham tasted like the cheap kind you get in a plastic bag in the 99 cent section at Kroger. There was hardly any pork on the sandwich and what was there was dry and hard. To make it even worse they used "Swiss American" cheez instead of the normal Swiss cheese you'd find on a Cuban. Gag. I won't be back.

WHO breads fish then grills it? I had the worse fish plate ever! Very disappointing... Black beans and Steam rice were good. The flan was OK. Nothing to brag about. I will not return, that's for certain.

The food here is really good. I suggest the black beans and rice with anything that you order. The fried pork and chicken are so good. The drinks are real drinks. The service is fast and very polite.

Their food is great. I've been plenty of times with coworkers and have only had bad waiters three times. All three times I've given those waiters exactly 15% tips (instead of nothing) and they've made sure to round my number up some to give themselves more money. That's stealing and after three times you've ruined it for everyone so Palomillas you'll no longer receive my business.

I would typically give 4 stars. Just finished eating and there is a dramatic difference in quality compared to all of our other visits here. Food was too greasy. Service was HORRIBLE!!!! The serving crew were all different people than we used to get. I will not return. So sad because this was our fav place.

I always enjoy the food when I come to this delicious restaurant. it's hard to find a good Cuban restaurant in Atlanta. There are 'only a few in the whole metro. This is one the best - friendly service, family feel, great food. today I had pulled pork cover with onions black beans and rice and plantains and side salad delicious

My husband and I have been going here for years, I am from Miami and crave good Cuban food. In the last year, the quality of the food has deteriorated. We keep giving it one more chance because we really want to support this resturant. The food is never consistent and now, there is nothing I can rely on, that will always be good. I feel nickle and dimed, as they are no charging extra for things that used to be included in the meal. The service is good, but the food is iffy.

  • Veronica M.

Their croquetas tasted like store bought not fresh. Maraqitas (thin fried plantain chips) was too greasy. Their vaca frita was soft & chewy nothing how it should be fried & crispy. Their skirt steak (churrasco) seems they cut back with quality. Even their other location at johns creek has this problem too. Their Manager was nice & offered to replace it but, I was extremely displeased that it wouldn't have mattered.

My mother and I were coming back from studio movie grille and wanted to try something different. This place has such high reviews I was expecting like a "wow! sooo good" kind of flavor. But iiicck. This place just isn't my cup of tea. What we ordered: * Roast Pork - Lechon Asado: swimming in GREASE and lacked flavor. However, they did serve 4 pieces of fried plantains and rice with the pork. The plantains were yummy but again, kind of oily. * Steak sandwich: meat was overcooked and served on iceberg lettuce + bun. Again, flavor was nonexistent. In addition, service wasn't great. It said "wait to be seated" but a customer told us to seat ourselves--apparently that was common? Sat there for a good 5 minutes without being acknowledged and no menu...awkkkward. When it came to getting our check, our server was on his cellphone behind the bar. WTH? Maybe it's an off night or something. The only perk to this place was when we DID finally order, the food came out relatively fast.

This was my first time at Palomilla's and I would say i will be back! It's my kind of restaurant. Small and unassuming but big on great authentic Cuban cuisine. I ordered the grilled sea bass. It was cooked just right and the plantains were excelllent. The chicken chunks will make you never eat another chicken nugget or finger again. The staff is super friendly and the prices are will worth passing by the Burger King The only downside is I only work in Norcross and its too far of a drive from my home in Cobb county to come out on the weekends.

Very good Cuban food. I had a Cuban Sandwich and my wife had the skirt steak. We also tried out the Mojitos. All were excellent although just a little pricey for lunch which is why it's 4 rather than 5 stars. Still, we'll be back.

Only giving this place 1 star because 0 stars is not an option. I'm from South Florida so I know Cuban food very, very well and love it. I was really looking forward to trying this place....Itis a disgrace. My waiter was actually nice but the food was awful. Stinky Shrimp, Cold/Hard Rice, Tasteless Black-Bean Soup - also cold. After reading the other reviews I knew that if I asked they would just nuke it. Since we came in after work at opening time I assume the cold rice must have been left over from lunch or the day before as it was hard as if it had been sitting around for a long time. Canned Goya Black soup would have been better. That's sad. I ordered the fish and shrimp. The fish would have been okay actually but can you say SALTY? I like seasoning but I couldn't drink enough water that night after eating it. And the Shrimp were off, a little too stinky to swallow. And GREASE is the word here. Every main dish, including my Fish was swimming, no really, swimming in grease. I know fat is flavor and I'm never opposed to a reasonable amount in my restaurant food but holy moly people. If Iran cuts off the Straights of Hormuz I know where to find some oil. BP could drill here. But really, so tired of the disguised Mexican restaurants passing themselves off as Cuban or places like this that would be run out of Miami serving food this bad. Hello! Atlantans do have taste buds and pretty darn good palates. They won't take this slop either. So sad about this place.

I went with a big group of people from work. Nobody thought their food was great, but mine was horrid. I paid $4.95 for steamed veggies - they were the cheap frozen medley of carrots, broccoli and cauliflower you get at the store, barely steamed to be warm. The fries I got with it had several undercooked ones too. Avoid this place. Gross.

Not a bad Cuban place, but not a destination restaurant. It's good if you're in the area, but don't go out of your way. The pork, the beans, and the plantains are the stand-out winners. The Cuban sandwich is, sadly, forgettable.

One of my favorite restaurants, Atmosphere is casual, and the prices are reasonable. Whenever i go, i always get one of three dishes on the menu. My favorite dish by far is the roast pork. The Citrus marinade makes your mouth water with every bite. Next best is the chicken. I don't remember what it is called, but it is number 1 on the menu. It is a flattened chicken breast with a citrus marinade and grilled onions. Lastly, if you are a beef lover, the skirt steak is great. A thin skirt steak grilled and served with an awesome chimmicherro (sp?) sauce. Service can be inconsistent, which is why I didn't give it 5 stars, but I definitely consider this a hidden gem in the Norcross area.

  • Keisa M.

I've been here several times, just remembering to write a review. The food is pretty good, but mind you I'm not an expert on Cuban. If you're not sure what to get, the waiters in my experience have been very knowledgeable about the menu items. One thing I didn't like was the seating. If you visit during lunch hours, the place gets pretty crowded and the non-booth seating in the middle is too closely spaced, giving you a slightly claustrophobic feeling. Most times I visit, I get the Shredded Beef, which is delicious. The portions are generous in my opinion, and I've never been able to finish everything on my plate. Pretty good lunch option in the Norcross area.

It's kind of strange that such a good Cuban restaurant is hiding all the way out here in this very suburban and heavily residential area known as "Peachtree Corner". But then come to think about it, the best pizza joints are all OTP, and Korean gems are to be found in Duluth, so what else is new. It has a good selection of well prepared simple dishes and super friendly servers. Roast pork is very juicy and tender, not dried out like at some places. Good amount of nicely sauteed onions--it's absolutely indispensable. Decent chicken yellow rice that is a huge portion. Good garlic sauce with the petit steak, though I wish it was tenderer. I liked the fried yuca much more than the mushy, boiled rendition, and generally liked the mojo dressing. Black bean soup is actually better than Papis and Havana. The Cuban Sandwich is very good, but I might like Havana's better. To my consternation, even looking at the dinner menu (not inexpensive either), I don't see any dish that uses large amount of pork skin/belly or some variety meat, like the great Cuban restaurants in Miami do. But that's probably too much to ask for. Lunch items are different for each day of the week, so you might want to plan ahead when to go for a specific dish. I haven't tried the empanadas yet, but it's not often that you see these and probably worth a try too.

Being a transplant from South Florida, I'm always looking for good Cuban food to give me a little taste of home. Palomilla's does not deliver the goods. To start our meal, we had a couple of drinks and the beef empinadas. My wife had the "homemade" Sangria, which was a glass of red wine with a spoonful of canned fruit cocktail added to it...really. I had a mojito, which was made from a mix, disappointing. The empinadas, which ended up being the highlight of the meal, were quite good with ample, well seasoned filling. The pastry was a bit greasy, but overall they were very good. For entrees I had the Ropa Vieja, which was OK. It was slightly greasy and a little under seasoned, but not bad overall. The black beans were very bland, missing all of the flavor you expect with Cuban black beans. The fried plantains for both of us were under ripe and under cooked. My wife had the Cuban sandwich which she described as "OK". Sadly, the search for good Cuban food in north Georgia continues.

Me and my wife first ate here last week... and we've been back twice since. We started out with the beef empanadas (3) and they are delicious! I could easily eat these as my main meal. They aren't too greasy but greasy enough to satisfy! We both got the roast pork plate (Lechon Asado). Its a generous serving of shredded roast pork with white rice, 3 plantains, and black beans. We both fell in love with this meal. The meat is quite salty but that's what I enjoyed about it. I am not a fan of plantains but my wife happily ate mine and said they were delicious (she's a big fan, no idea why). I usually don't care for black beans either but these I will eat any day... especially poured over the rice. The service was good, no complaints. The atmosphere was quiet and not too busy every time we've been there, which is nice. If you know good Cuban food, this will be a regular spot for you. If you want to try it out for the first time, the atmosphere here is perfect and you will not be disappointed in the food.

My husband and I were looking for someplace with hearty, filling food on a cold winter night. Palomilla's fit the bill. We both enjoyed our entrées (beef for him, pork for me, served with rice, black beans, and plantains), mojitos and dessert. Overall, I like Mojito's Cuban-American Bistro more. But Palomilla's is right around the corner from our new house, and the price is right. I will definitely return.

Ehh, won't be back in a long while. Let's start with the bad since I can't hold back: 1) Roast Pork: The lime is very necessary on the pork. The beans and plaintains are the best part of this dish. The onions added a lot of grease to a dish and damaged the "roast" part for me. 2) Chicken Filet: Unless you're into overpriced little chunk of food, don't get this.Co-workers got this and it seemed like hit or miss from the onions to the chicken itself. 3) Canned Drinks: There's no fountain and each can goes for $2... seriously? Bring your own 2-Liter! Now for the good: -Service (Only thing that saved them from a one star) Overall, the service was good. The menu though was overpriced for the food itself. I'd expect a lot more for a $10 dish than what looks like $7. And remember to bring your own 2-Liter of Coke.

I think it's best to stick with some variation of Cuban sandwich- delicious! I recommend ordering rice AND fried plantains. Also, I always order this one thing as an appetizer but can't think of the name just now. It is fried. Looks like a samosa... Inside is... something delicious... But what? Guess I better dine in to refresh my memory :)

I'm cuban and was raised with home cooked cuban meals. Palomilla's is the real deal. It's the best place I've been to for cuban food in GA. My wife and I frequent the place for lunch. Oh ... and my grandmother LOVES it too ... that says a lot. Can't go wrong with the palomilla steak or the churasco.

  • Jeff L.

Papi's is generally closer to where we live so we tend to go there more regularly to get our Cuban fix. However, when we are having a real craving for Cuban fare, Palomilla's is our place of choice, hands down. I think this was the first restaurant that we dined at in the area -- we dined here our first night during a house hunting trip. Given that we lived in Kennesaw, we didn't make it back her. Since moving to Marietta (and cutting 15-20 minutes off of the trip), we've been able to make it back several more times. We've had several of their dishes -- the Lechon Asado, Masas de Cerdo, House Palomilla Steak, and the Steak Churrasco. Everything we've had has been incredible, with our personal favorite being the Lechon Asado, a roasted and shredded pork dish. The Masas de Cerdo is also one of our favorites, but given that it's deep-fried, it can be a bit heavy. Their steaks really surprise me -- beef can be a very heavy meat, but they make it lighter and more vibrant. In fact, what I've loved about everything I've had is the depth of flavors that all of the dishes come out with. The herbs and spices used to marinate the meats are perfectly done. As a result, everything comes our nicely-cooked, juicy, and full of flavor. As is standard, everything is served with some fried plantains and congris. I love the congris (probably the best I've had), but their plantains are often tough, dry and a bit overcooked. I don't usually eat much of them. In the end, if that's the main negative I have to say about their food, then they're doing all right by me! All in all, our favorite Cuban places, and one of our favorite restaurants in the area.

If you are ordering from the lunch menu, you get a nice amount of food with good flavor for the price. I ordered the pork chunks with plantains and rice . The meal was enjoyable. I don't know what proper Cuban food is but the meal was awesome for what it was. Would I come here again? Absolutely because it's a deal!

Hi Ya! Hi again, your favorite foodie Ninja! I have to take off for a contract in a few minutes but thought to write quick review before leaving. So here it goes... Authentic Cuban food, yes, I've been to Cuba take care of some pesky business so I know good Cuban food. Had sweet plantains and masas de cerdo mmmm good stuff. Eat here! BTW as my uncle Confucius said "He who prints bad coupon online should ask if coupon good at restaurant before ordering food" just saying... My uncle Confucius is quite bright and still alive... that old fart won't die... I want my inheritance now damn it! maybe I should errrm... help him. Anyway I hate to keep my target waiting for glorious death so... out! *poof*

Food snob here with another review. Don't even consider this place. The chicken was undercooked, and rubbery, with no seasoning. The chicken slice itself looked as if they were in a recession, and gave you the skin of the chicken, and tried to pass it off as the actual chicken. The black beans were ok, as was the rice...but the rice was kind of dry. The best part was the fried plantanes, they were sweet and took the aweful taste of the horrible chicken out of my mouth. The price was literally uncomprable to what it should have been. I will not return. Trust me when I say, you will be sorely upset with this experience. They got 1 star because of the plantanes, otherwise they would have gotten no stars. till next time, The Food Snob

Being Cuban immigrant, I was super excited to have a taste of the motherland nearby when I moved to Norcross. I was disappointed and could have done better myself at home, though I have had worse. We felt a little rushed in the ordering process. We had barely 2 minutes to look at the menu before the waiter asked us for our order. We said we needed a few minutes, and he came back just 1 minute later. I didn't get to look over the whole menu but I was hankering for a specific item every Cuban restaurant has anyway. The portions were great. My boyfriend and I were stuffed. I ordered the breaded steak and my boyfriend ordered the pork cubes. Both orders came with white rice, black beans, and fried mature plantains. But my steak was raw in the middle. Deep red raw. Cuban steak is supposed to be cooked well-done, especially since we use thin flank steaks. The waiter was at least kind enough to replace it for me with a well-cooked steak. Another problem I had was with the breading used: authentic breading is actually ground cuban crackers, but the breading I got was obviously cornmeal. The rice was good, but the beans were either from a can or not soaked enough overnight: they were somewhat hard and the flavor wasn't spectacular. The plantains were great, though. My boyfriend's pork was great. I liked it much better than my steak (and I'm crazy for bistec empanizado, so that's saying something.) I've read other reviews about people complaining about the grease, but everything in Cuban cooking is either fried and/or oil is added. So I wasn't bothered. My bite was quite delicious. For dessert we got a tres leches. Like I said, portions are huge here. It could have fed 4 people easily. The taste was alright, but I could buy the same quality at Publix. I will note that our waiter was very accommodating. We had found a coupon on their website and we wanted to be eco-friendly so instead of printing it out we had it open on our phone browser. The waiter said he needed the physical coupon, but fortunately the owner was there and our waiter had her come to our table and she accepted the coupon. All in all, this place wasn't bad. But if you're looking for truly authentic Cuban cuisine look elsewhere.

I really love this place. From the pulled pork to the fried fish to the fried plantains, everything I've eaten here has been fresh and delicious. I've had to have been to this place at least 7-8 times now, usually with my folks. Its always fresh and delicious. The fried fish is my favorite, it is light and flaky, melt in your mouth. Always cooked JUST right. Never too heavy. The pork dish is divine and mouth-watering. My only complaint is alcohol/beer selection, but that's par for the course OTP. : / So I won't count it against them.

Finally, I found a place to give me my medicine for Cuban fever. After Havana pulled the fire extinguisher out and other places did nothing but disappoint, Yelp came through and delivered me to the promise land. I came in solo on a mission to get the low down on this hidden place my GPS could not track, but I finally happened into the parking lot were I even saw a Cuban guy in camouflage ( only in Georgia) I got a to go order at night when the place was a little quiet and the owner was hanging new lights in the dinning room. I sat at the bar sipping a Dominican beer, checking out the bar selection, and quizzed the owner a little on his past and the menu. Thank goodness this guy was a good swimmer! He gave me the info on his Cuban because I asked "Why no mustard?" I have come to the belief from experiences making this morsel at restos and trying them everywhere from the Havana Sand Shop to Tampa Bay that this was a requirement. "Nope, you can request it but that is a Miami thing--half mustard, half mayo. We don't have yellow mustard in Cuba, and only use mayo sometimes." Of course, not being one to change something already said to be so good, I opted for the regular with mayo only. This is the best Cuban in the ATL.... Comes with a side of fries ,but please you must try the plantains. (They are the best ever and you can substitute at no charge. ) Mixed beans and rice is very solid but no comparison to Havana's. I really love these guys for being there for me during my Cuban depression, and I would give them 5 stars on the sandwich and pricing alone. I just would like to see a resto so close to authentic take there beer and wine menu selections only from the Latin and South American provinces. Keep the Kendal Jackson and American Lagers to the mass media places. Bookmark this place! And it is packed around lunch time.

I place Palomilla's in my top 2 Cuban places in Atlanta. Simply said, they have great tasting quality food. Opened only a year ago, Palomilla's clearly has created a footprint in the Cuban restaurant scene as evident by Cubans who flock to the place on a regular basis. The eclectic mix in decor makes the place quaint and interesting. One side evokes calm, contemporary lines while another boasts festive colors with wild vines wrapped around a trellis. Warm yellow walls and a black contemporary bar that doubles as a hostess stand complete the look. Food-wise, everything is good, fresh, and tasty. A little on the pricey side, compared to other Ethnic cuisines, you get a good return on your investment with ample serving sizes. Each entree comes with rice, beans, and plantains. You get two huge plates: one for the main entree and one for the sides. It's an overwhelming sight, but delicious, nonetheless. The Roasted Pork (Lechon Asado) was fork tender and so flavorlul it was difficult not to finish the entire order. The Fried Chicken was unique, in that, it was roasted and then fried. Finger-licking good and topped with sauteed onions, it's a unique take on a Southern favorite. Overall, this is one Cuban place that is guaranteed to make you come back again and again. And while service is unusually slow, the friendliness of the staff makes up for it in many ways. Insider tip: A side of yummy chimichurri is available upon request.

Bagged a $25 coupon for $10, so we went here tonight with Pastor and his wife. For the first time, we ordered an appetizer (because we were saving money :-D ), which was the sampler platter at $6.95. Folks, this would normally be a MEAL for two people. It had a mound of wonderful banana chips, a huge Cuban tamale, yucca fries, two empanadas, sauteed onions, pulled pork, and an enormous meat filled potato cake. Madre mio! I got my usual sea bass Cuban replete with caramelized onions and plantains, Ann got her usual Cuban with plantains, and Pastor and wife shared grilled sea bass over rice, white bean soup, black beans and rice, and mango pie. After extensive sharing of tastes, we all felt like we'd had an exceptional meal with very caring service. The owner came by to check on us several times. I am so happy that these nice people have honed their kitchen so well.

My dad went to Cuba in the mid 1950's and stayed for a month. Since then he has had a thing for quality Cuban food; rice & beans, ropa vieja, cuban sandwhich, lechon asada, etc. The place is authentic, and the food is the real thing. We started out with a couple of Presidentes and I had the cuban sandwhich and he hade the ropa vieja. Both were delicious and compare favorably to Cuban restaurants in Miami and New York. My dad even liked it.

Love the food! Incredible Cuban, best I've had around the area. Not much for atmosphere. would be great if they could have cuban jazz band or salsa night.

I will open saying I am biased since growing up in Miami I have had some of the best Cuban food. That being said, a Cuban restaurant that cannot make good black beans is not worth going back to no matter where they are located. Our food was either bland or too salty and the service was awful, especially considering the restaurant was empty. The waiter forgot our appetizer and once our entrees came out he simply said "oh, we ran out, I told you already". I wanted to find a nice cuban

This place is like fast food Cuban. In the Chicken soup they used a combination of beef and chicken broth. On some of the chicken in the soup was the skin which was gross. They also use a spaghetti noodle which I thought was odd. I have never had brown broth color chicken soup until then. My wife ordered the steak and there was about a quarter inch of grease on the bottom of the plate. Black beans and rice just average. Fried plantains were good, but how do you mess up a fried plantain.

Yum. Yum. And yum. Lechon Asado is so good I crave it. In fact, I think we are going to go here now for lunch. Usually cant get in the door on Friday nights - packed wall to wall (with people who appear to be of Cuban heritage - good sign I think); tables pushed together, folks just having a good time. I dont mind - as long it is stays busy, it should stay open and the Lechon Asado can be ours anytime we want. Other foods look good (tried a bit of the ropa vejio, picadillo and a cuban sandwich) and they were excellent too.

I have tried this place for the first time today. I ordered their Seafood Zarzuela plate. I absolutely did not like it at all. It was unbelievably messy and greasy. It leaked all over my family's meals. I agree with what the other reviewer has said about the rice being cold and hard. I also found the rice to be extremely stale as well. The menu item that I ordered has left a weird after taste inside of my mouth. I think that if I come back here, I am going to have to order something different. I also came here in the afternoon today and it was pretty much empty, except for the fact that I only saw what looked like a Caucasian couple seated at a table. The service is excellent and curteos as well!

For a Friday dinner we tried Palomilla's. There was live music which added to the nice atmosphere of the restaurant. Our dinners were a Cuban sandwich and a Fish/Shrimp dish. Both were good. The Cuban sandwich was better than most, but not as good as what you get at Havana Sandwich Shop (missing Mojo sauce and served with fries or rice instead of beans AND rice). The fish had a mild green sauce and was served with bean, rice, and plantains. Palomilla's is pretty good and the only Cuban restaurant option I know of in the area. I would come back again gladly.

Went for lunch today with a couple of Colombian colleagues from work, who really enjoyed Palomilla's and commented that it's similar to Colombian. I've rated Palomilla's as 4 stars for a few times and I'll keep them there. But to be honest, I think I'm giving them a 4 more for the sake of those around me than for me. I think the food is good, but: 1) As far as the food goes, it seems a little messy to me (the Cuban bread has an oily crust that leaves my hands feeling greasy, and my sandwich contents seem to spill out, 2) not enough non-meat options, and 3) the popularity of the place gives it a more energetic vibe that doesn't really suit my preference for mellow. So if I were being honest, I'd probably notch them down to a 3, but peer pressure has my rating them a 4. I'm sure I'll go back, because plenty of friends, acquaintances, relatives, and wife would feel at home here.

The food was pretty good, unfortunately it was not what i ordered. It's hard for me to be forgiving of a server who chooses to not write down my order but verifies it with me twice and then brings me chicken instead of fish. They didn't offer to correct their mistake. They have a good menu with lots of great choices and the fried plantains were delicious.

This place is awesome. Authentic Cuban, all cooked perfectly. Sandwich Cubano, Yuca Frita, Plantains, Vaca Frita, etc. You will not be disappointed. Mojitos are great except i think maybe they use a mint rum or some kind of mint liquer to enhance it which i'm not sure about. I prefer the rum, cane sugar, lime and mint leaves only recipe but it's still a good mojito. Other than that you can't go wrong.

Great family-owned place with authentic Cuban cuisine. I work near here and end up at Palomilla's for lunch at least once a week and it is never a letdown. Reasonably priced and always delicious! I took my parents here and they loved it. The food is delicious. I wish they'd change up the lunch menu a little more often and add a little variety, but it is good as it is.

I came here tonight with some friends bc one of my friends was craving Cuban food. This was my second time around and it was okay in my book. I will have to say that the Fried Yuca was delish! However, it had a lot of garlic powder on frita and in the sauce. I can still taste the garlic flavor in my mouth. I ordered the Chicken Fillet. It was a thin piece of chicken with mojo juices and onions. I thought the chicken was a little over cooked. I loved the cooked onions on top. My friend ordered the Milanesa Steak. It was lightly breaded with ham and cheese on top. It was also tasty, but too much breading. My other friend ordered the Creole Shrimp. All the entrees came with rice, beans, and plantains. Leave room for dessert bc the Mango Pie is really good! I'm not a big fan of mango but the flavoring was very light. We also ordered the Chocolate Cake which was more like a mousse. I think my fave Cuban is Little Cuba.

Palomilla's Cuban Grill House is hands down the best Cuban in Atlanta (even though it is Norcross). It is rare to find such a gem way OTP, especially Norcross which is known for merely average food. Since discovering Palomilla's back August of last year, I eat lunch there at least once a week, but some weeks two or three times. There is not a dish on the menu that is not worth trying. Of course over the myriad of trips I have made here I have certainly honed in on some favorites: Lechon Asado, Vaca Frita and Ropa Vieja, but have tried the Palomilla Steak, Filete de Pescado and Chicharron de Pollo and was pleased with them all. By far my favorite dish is the Lechon Asado which is always perfectly cooked and has the right mix of tenderness and crispiness from the time the pork bakes in the oven and sauteed on the grill. Topped with grilled onions the flavor is masterful. In addition to the main dishes the accompaniments are also perfect. The plantains are always grilled to perfection and the black beans, although differing in consistency each time are very flavorful. One of the best things about the place is the price. I know exactly what I am going to pay every time I walk into this place. Palomilla's has 6 lunch specials every day of the week which run about $7.95. An entree with a bottomless cup of iced tea and tip comes to $12.28 each visit. For the amount of food you get, you cannot beat it. The owner, Elizardo "Eli" Sanz , can always be found wandering the floor or dining with friends and family. He is very approachable and I have had several conversations with him. His presence and personal approach just adds to the overall dining experience. The man risked his life more than once to make it to this country, and, all I can say is, I am happy he did. He brought with him authentic Cuban cuisine that I have thoroughly enjoyed since August, 2008 and hope to continue to enjoy for years to come!

The best Cuban food in Atlanta, better than Las Palmeras (which is great by the way). Make reservations because this place gets packed for dinner. Fried Yucca...plantains...ropa vieja....mojo...juicy flavorful sauces...all incredible and all at reasonable prices. Save room for dessert too...especially the Mango Pie and Tres Leches...

This place is a joke. Long story short, I received a gift card for their restaurant. They have 2 locations, SAME OWNER. The gift card said Johns Creek on it. I drive by their Norcross location everyday so I called the Johns Creek location and said I had a gift card with their location, but can I use it at the Norcross location. She put me on hold and came back and said I could use at either restaurant. So great. Went to the Norcross location a few weeks later after a long day at work. Gave the waiter my card after we ate and he came back and said I couldn't use it because they were separate company's. I told him I called and gave him the same info I was told. He left and came back to our table with the owner on his phone and gave me the phone in the middle of the restaurant to talk to the owner !!!! So unprofessional. I couldn't believe what was going on, the owner said the same thing the waiter said , that he owns both restaurants, but separate company's, " WHATEVER". and dismissed what his other restaurant told me. I didn't even like my food anyway. I should have just given him the gift card anyway and say shove it, but we paid and left. I gave my gift card away for someone else to use. The food is not worth eating for free and I would never step foot in either of his reataurants again nor recommend to anyone. What a terrible way to do business.
