I've been coming here for lunch the last 20+ years. The service knows our standard orders, and they're delivered QHT...quick, hot & tasty. I know that one waiter has served us for at least 15 years. My favorites are the Speedy Plate (Never trust a Mexican Restaurant that doesn't offer a Speedy Plate) and the chicken burrito. Try the Taco Salad or the Quesadilla, both are wonderful. I hope that Lupita's is here another 20 years.

Lupita's was a nice surprise since I thought I was in a desert of food places to eat near Indian Trails and Beaver Ruin. One of my friends used to frequent here and suggested it when we were looking for a place to eat on a Saturday. Lunch specials during the week also apply on the weekend. I ordered "La Changa." Basically, it's a chicken and refried bean burrito, wrapped in a flour tortilla and covered with a cheese sauce. Perfect. This hit the spot because I wanted some cheese but not enough to justify an app order of queso. There's a side of lettuce and guac so I didn't feel completely unhealthy. I like how this restaurant feels clean and service is great. Free chips and salsa, everyone's just hanging out. I'm a fan. I don't find myself out here in Norcross too often, but I'll keep Lupita's on my radar.

On the weekends you can find me searching for the best margaritas. Whether on the rocks, virgin or frozen I'm on the lookout. A friend told me to try Lupita's and of course I came to yelp to read the reviews first. Reviews seemed good enough so we ventured here after work on Saturday. They even had a little red yelp sticker on the front door. Cute. I was excited to see that they had Margaronas and of course we had to try one. We ordered one 24 oz frozen mango and one 24 oz frozen strawberry and the flavors were present and strong and might I add very delicious. We received complimentary chips and salsa that we devoured quickly and I decided to order some enchiladas to go along with the drinks. The waitress actually recommended the flour tortillas over the corn. Me being me I decided to go against the grain and order a tortilla and a corn. The waitress was spot on. I did not like the corn enchilada one bit. I tried two bites and could not eat anymore. I'm not one for sugar coating so I will just say it was nasty. It was a weird taste, one that I simply can't explain. The flour enchilada was delicious. The employees were nice and courteous. I definitely plan on returning especially for the Margaronas and to try a different dish. The decor in the restaurant was so cute and I loved the vibe. The set up for the women's bathroom was cramped and crazy. I would recommend only 1 at a time even though there are 2 stalls. A kid was celebrating their birthday there and the workers came out and sang happy birthdays and gave her a dessert. I thought that was too cute.

My friend used to work nearby and always raved about this place so I had to try it for myself. It has all of your standard Mexican fixings and the decor is cute. I ordered a Peach Margarita and the La Parrillada. The dish came with chorizo, chicken, shrimp and peppers and onions on a griddle. It was served with tortillas, guacamole, sour cream, and rice and beans. You also get chips and salsa delivered to your table. I read a review about the drinks being very strong but either I have a very high tolerance from drinking grain alcohol in college or the Margarita was super weak. The dish I ordered was also very salty. The best part about the meal was the salsa, it had a wonderful spice to it. I would give it another chance if I were in the area.

Honestly, maybe the day I went was just a bad day, but seeing how there were only 2 other tables seated, I truly doubt it. Nothing was good. The pomegranate margarita had virtually no taste of pomegranate juice in it. I may be the only person in Atlanta who doesn't like a more alcohol to juice ratio, but I just sent it back with no remake. The food was bland. I don't have to return.

Decor is typical, artwork nice though. The food we had was awesome! We were there during lunch and I ordered a quesadilla relleno. Extremely tasty, the tortilla soft and fresh, and the chicken as soft and tender as warm butter. It came with a simple salad of lettuce, tomato, and guacamole dressing on top. Super fresh taste. Wished we lived closer to this restaurant. My lunch was just under $6 excluding my soft drink.

I don't often go out and eat Mexican food because honestly I can make tacos at home and don't think about it. However, I promised to take my daughter for dinner at an authentic Mexican restaurants. Most of her friends at school are Latinos and she wanted the experience of eating outside of my infamous cooking. It shouldn't be that hard, right? With many options in a heavy Latino community. After searching on Yelp for an authentic Mexican restaurant, I came across Lupita's. What attractive me is not only the authenticity that is said many times in the reviews but the name. I took Spanish for six years (and I cannot speak it) and Lupita was my Spanish name lol. We got to Lupita's around 5ish on a Friday.. It's at the corner of Indian Trail and Beaver Ruin Road in Norcross across the street from Lowe's. While walking in the restaurant, we were greeted with bubbly people and got seated at a booth right away. The restaurant is bigger than I thought with a bar on the other side slightly separated by a wall. The crowd is anywhere from a well dress homecoming party to an office party happy hour to a family of four having dinner. The staff is friendly and attentive. One of the best I've ever encounter. The waitors are very well knowledge and outgoing. They are all Latino too, if anyone cares for the tidbit. We got water, chips, and salsa right away. OMG, it was so good, it was still hot and the salsa is one of the best. We got pollo pablano (chicken with pablano peppers, dish actually came with yummy rice and broccoli with cheese) and tres amigos (literally means three friends but it has three meats - shrimp, chicken, & steak). We got the dishes really quickly. So yummy, finger licking good with the right amount of spiciness and loaded with yummy cheese. I was so stuff too. I cannot wait to go back and try more dishes. Oh yeah, free Wi-Fi too. This worked out cause I reached my data so connection was super slow lol

This was an ok spot for a quick bite of Mexican food. I had the chilaquiles, but would probably order something different if I were to visit again. My son's taco looked like it would have been tasty. Dinner was quick and affordable. Portions were large. The place was hopping on the early Friday evening we visited, and from the Yelp reviews, it clearly has lots of fans.

Delicious and super cheap. My friend April and I came here for lunch one Sunday drawn in by the Scoutmob deal. We had a really pleasant visit. The service was wonderful, our food came out very quickly after ordering. I had the taco salad which was delicious. I was also a fan of their chips and salsa (although I'll be honest I'm a fan of most chips and salsa). The decor inside is very cute. On our visit it was decorated for Dia de los Muertos. Our total bill for the two of us came to $10, BEFORE applying the %50 off Scoutmob deal. So it ended up being lunch for two for $5 - a complete steal. I'll definitely back, even without a Scoutmob.

I've always had a great time here. The shrimp (I usually order shrimp) is always perfectly cooked. They give generous portions of delicious food. They also have great beer, I like Pacifico and it came out perfectly chilled. Great customer service too--the waiter is always so nice and friendly. Also if you order a pitcher of margaritas you get a free t-shirt!

I have eaten here a dozen times and it is always really good Tex Mex food. The service has always been good, and the margaritas are strong and yummy. I like the cheese dip, guacamole, and the queso fundido for appetizers. The salsa is always tasty and I really like the tomatillo salsa and usually ask for a side of it with my dinner. I always end up ordering one of the following dishes: carnitas, tacos de carne asada (with corn tortillas), or fajitas especial. They are always so good that I keep going back. I have also tasted quite a few other dishes and i have never had anything bad here. A bunch of my closest friends come to this restaurant all the time and have always had good experiences. Portions are good sizes and prices are reasonable. I would recommend if you are in the market for good Tex Mex food.

The BEST Mexican food ever!! Very delicious and inexpensive! I loved the chips and salsa! The service was great and the margaritas were perfect! I ordered the Lupita's dip for my meal, which is a cheese dip with pico de gallo at the bottom and your choice of shrimp, chicken, or steak (I ordered shrimp). The shrimp was seasoned perfectly and the the dip was so flavorful! The dip also came with with 4 torillas. Love this place! My new go to Mexican Spot!

Awesome food and amazing service, chips and salsa were delicious, blueberry margaritas were fantastic and our meal was on point. I will be stopping back here for sure, almost missed it as it is in a small strip mall type of deal, but was definitely worth the drive. Staff were welcoming and friendly, prompt drink refills, chip refills, hidden gem of a restaurant, you won't be disappointed.

This place is almost like a "hole in the wall" but it is great! Come here for lunch specials frequently because it is good and very good prices. The salsa they serve with chips is made fresh every day and very tasty. My favorite thing to get here is the Juevos con Chorizo, served with warm tortillas and beans... Yum! Oh and my husband just loves their Margaritas!! They are definitely worth the money for even just one!

    (5)
  • Jennifer L.

Excellent salsa, I want to take a bucket of it home. Margaritas worth every penny. I got a full meal for $6, they are so fair with their prices I love it! Now the food is pretty average for Mexican restaurants but the dynamic flavors in the salsa and the strong drinks make this place way above average. I look forward to coming back!

Tried this restaurant based on a friend's suggestion. I really enjoyed the food, drinks, & atmosphere. I ordered shrimp, chicken, & steak fajitas with a half pitcher of Texas margaritas. I was very satisfied and will be returning. Great staff also!

Nothing special here. Typical runny mexican food. Everything is salty and covered with cheese

  • P S C.

As good mexican food as you can get with a very affordable price. They have awesome salsa and chips. The food feels like all ingredients are fresh, and it is well made. Would repeat and would highly recommend. Service could be a little better, but is fairly good.

The quality of the food was Very Good. We tried the chicken soup and a combo meal of taco, chalupa and an enchilada. All were tasty. The service was attentive and timely. The decor was dark...probably for the best. We eat at Lupita's fairly often and find the food simple and good. We will return and recommend this restaurant.

Best restaurant in Norcross area! Excellent food and decoration with great Latino music while enjoying your meal. Highly recommended!

  • Brittney V.

I have been coming to lupitas for awhile now and every time I come it seems the quality of the food gets worse and worse. Do not get the cheese dip, it is white American cheese; we also ordered without jalapenos and received it WITH jalapenos. It tastes horrible, like processed. The chips are ok, they cook them in some kind of oil that leaves an oily film in your mouth. To me it is a little less average than your average mexican restaurant. I also found a huge bone in my chicken enchilada

    (1)
  • Cassondra B.

Lupita's is still a great restaurant to come. Lunch or dinner, your meal is served! Authentic Mexican food can come no other way unless Abuela or Mami make it. Which they might as well be cooking in the kitchen! Carlos is the owner. However when Carlos opened Lupita's 2, Raul started managing this location and he is just as awesome. The place still has the same feel as it did with the original owner from 15 years ago. This place just keepa getting better. Definitely a place to bring your family. Everyone can enjoy something. Kids love the food. They cater to your every needs. Very hospitable. Friendly. A restaurant you can build a relationship with and keep with the family.

This place is amazing. We literally come here twice a week. My girlfriend gets the California steak burrito and I switch it up from the tasty combos to the chicken quesadillas. The staff is very friendly and the food comes out very quickly and to perfection. Excellent food, drinks, service and atmosphere. I highly recommend this place to anyone.

  • Richard L.

My wife and I have been coming here for the last 6 years. They have a good selection of plates on the menu and I have tried probably everyone of them. Carlos, Raoul, Servando, and the rest of the staff are great. Want to switch a couple of things on your dish, no problem. Want something not on your dish, no problem. Want to make your own dish, NO PROBLEM. If you want great Mexican food with great service this is the place.

Lupita's is located on a tiny strip directly across the street from Lowe's off of Beaver Ruin Road. I'm glad I finally gave this place a try. We ordered takeout. I got the Supreme Quesadilla and my husband got the Beef Nachos. The quesadilla was filled with shredded chicken, mushrooms, onions, & bell peppers. It was served with lettuce, tomatoes, & guacamole. It was so good! I don't normally like shredded chicken because they tend to be more on the dry side. But this was perfectly moist. Seasoned to perfection. The only downside of it was the bottom, it soaked up all the juices by the time I got home. Pretty soggy but still very good. The nachos were okay, I guess it's better if you eat it on the spot. But the cheese wasn't like regular nacho cheese. They used a white cheese sauce, which started hardening up by the time we got home. Flavor was good though. Our meal came with chips & salsa. The chips were fantastic! Thin & perfectly crisp. The salsa was pretty good as well. Customer service was good. He was polite, friendly, & patient. Our order came out in about 5 minutes. So far, I like it. Will definitely have to come back and dine in.

Lupita's has made some visible upgrades in the last year or so: new signage out front, a new and updated menu, an improved (but very small) bar area, and increased beer selections. The waitstaff is even friendlier and the food quality has remained higher than your typical Tex-Mex places. If you spend a little extra time looking at the menu, you can find some real gems. My favorites lately are the chicken soup and tortilla soup, the Pollo con Papas, the Burrito California and La Changa. These last three are now available on the lunch menu, too - a huge selling point for me. Lupita's is still my "go-to" place in this neighborhood for sit-down Mexican food - and a menu that keeps getting better.

My daughters and I has dinner based on the Yelp reviews and were very disappointed. One daughter had flautas one has the specialty enchiladas with chicken and green sauce and I had the combo of beef, chicken and cheese enchiladas. Nothing was terrible but nothing was better than average. The chips were most disappointing as the had a sort of greasy film on them. Perhaps we are spoiled having lived in Texas for 14 years.

A good restaurant in Norcross? Say it ain't so! I noticed the great reviews and had to check it out myself. The food here was delicious, I had the steak and chicken fajitas along with a frozen margarita. I'm buzzing on half a glass (then again I am a light weight) but still! The meat was cooked to perfection, I hate tough chicken/steak. The servers and bartenders were so kind and attentive. They were extremely clean looking and the bartender pretty handsome ;) I highly recommend them and will be back again. I hope they keep up the great work.

Very picky, former Texans. Stopped here due to Yelp reviews and were very pleased! Chicken fajitas, steak quesadillas and chicken soup were ordered. The salsa is excellent, as is the pico and guacamole. The Texas margarita was also perfect. We don't live anywhere close, but will be back next time we are in the area!

Great prices!! Our server Servando was great too! We had an issue with our sons food (tasted as if the soap from cleaning the plates wasn't washed all the way off and got onto the quesadilla) and they made him another and comped it. Besides that, my family enjoyed the food and drinks.

This place is a hidden gem! Came here solely on yelp reviews which were spot on! The staff is friendly and restaurant is clean. They have several TV's for sports lovers. The margaritas by the pitcher is def the way to go and the food is sooo good. Everything was cooked to perfection. We will go back for sure.

  • Amanda M.

We finally found our Mexican place in the area! Excellent salsa, chips, and margaritas. I was even more pleased then when my entree came, shrimp fajitas. I order the same thing at every Mexican restaurant and enjoy it but it's typically made with way too much oil. Not here! It was perfect. Service was also superb.

    (5)
  • Eddie J.

Lupitas offered good food at reasonable prices. The service was quick and courteous. At no point was I ever waiting to have my drink refilled. The entrees were served within 10 minutes of the order. Keep in mind I was there with my girlfriend around 1 PM on a Saturday afternoon and ordered off of their lunch menu. The illumination of the dining area could have been brighter. The amount of illumination reminded me of a bar. The food was excellent. I had the Quesadilla Tropical (chicken quesadilla with rice). All items were quite flavorful. The portions were appropriate as well (though any larger, and there would've been wasted food). The sign outside was a bit misleading. It labels Saturday and Sunday as opening at 12:00 AM. Upon asking the proprietor about that, they actually mean (as I suspected) 12:00 PM. I will be returning to this restaurant, and have possibly found a staple for Mexican cuisine.

Went her with my wife on a Friday night. Had a great time. We were a little skeptical to come here at first bc it is in a strip mall but the service and food was amazing! One of the best Mexican restaurants. Very clean and courteous. The whole meal with half a pitcher of margaritta was $30. Will definitely go back very soon!

Overall: Very good! It's pretty close to 5 stars with a few minor opportunities for improvement. Food: Chips and Salsa - The salsa was excellent and was actually quite a bit more spicy than the average Mexican restaurant. Totally loved it. The chips were good, but occasionally I ran into a browner chip which was other overcooked or had some bad oil. Wasn't terrible, but a small set back there. California Burrito - Had the Mexican Flag style (Salsa Verde on one side, white queso in middle, roasted salsa on other side). Let me mix chicken and steak together (thumbs up to that!). Was slightly on salty side, probably due to the queso smothering. But otherwise was very delicious! Tamales: My wife orders tamales whenever she can and needless to say she thought these were great. nuff said Service: Pretty good. All hispanic staff and seem very friendly. Table service was above average but not blown away either.

Volver a lo basico! or for you Gringos, back to the basics! I am in Georgia and it is time for lunch. I Yelp restaurants and Lupita's comes up as close and with a 4 average on 27 reviews. Sometimes, it is important to recognize good fundamental cooking. Lupita's is a Mexican restaurant that makes very good basic Mexican food. Good tasting, well prepared, large portions and affordable! Sorprender a las bolas! That is AMAZEBALLS for you Gringos!

I have been going here for about a year and a half and cannot complain. We go on Thursday which is the day they host trivia. It's always super busy when we are there, and sometimes there is a wait for the food , but I also never ever order from the menu, so I can't be to particular when I'm ordering specialty items each time. Cinco de Mayo we walked in waited maybe 7 minutes at the bar with a packed house and then we were seated. So being a weekly regular has some perks! The Texas Margarita is serious. SERIOUS. I go with a group, and we all have a favorite on the menu. There are also off the menu secrets. Ask for the California Burrito...it's heaven, and you can customize it. I don't think they say no to anything. They didn't have lemon pepper wings for a friend one night so they made lime pepper wings. This isn't really a bad thing for them but, business picked up a lot, new folks taking the reserved tables ::dagger eyes:: but hey it's all good. I'm still loving my fish tacos with onions and cilantro!!!!

I'm furious with Lupitas. The food was fine. The service was fine - until the end. When they gave my credit card to someone else. YES, YOU READ THAT RIGHT. Lucky I was paying attention. After ten minutes had passed after handing over my plastic and no-one returned with my check to sign, I looked over at the cashier desk and noticed all the check folders were gone, mine included. I ran up and asked where the heck my card was, and they bustled around and found it on the table of a couple about to leave. I complained to the main guy there and he shrugged and acted like it was no big deal, saying "hey, everyone here is honest, these things happen". Not. The. Point. At least when they did this at On the Border last month (they lost my card for TWENTY MINUTES, seriously, is this a Georgia thing??!!)) the manager had the grace to be embarrassed, apologized, and comped my meal. Here I got a shrug and a "whatever, it's no big deal" attitude. That was my PayPal MasterCard, dude. BIG DEAL. It goes lost - right at the holidays - it takes six weeks to get a new one and I can't pay my bills. Not cool. NOT COOL AT ALL. I won't be going back. And it's a shame, becasue it was the best Tex-Mex I've found since I moved here from Texas. Note to owners: losing a customer's credit card = BIG DEAL. Do a little employee re-education.

Mother in law, husband and I had a good time at Lupita's. The service is good and the the servers are very nice. It's pretty basic Mexican fare and my husband and mom-in-law enjoyed the margaritas. I had a nice (very inexpensive) Chardonnay. (They serve it in a little bottle like on a plane)

    (3)
  • Mick D.

A step above standard Tex-Mex. Forget the combos (though they're on the menu), spend your time on the house specialties. The kitchen puts some care into its creations, and seems to have no problems handling large groups. Staff makes you part of the "family" almost immediately. They're full of suggestions, and will even point you to delicious creations that aren't on the menu. Portions are huge. Prices are low. I didn't have any EtOH, but I'm told the margaritas are subtle yet strong. Definitely worth a visit or two.

Authentic mexican food. Food was seasoned well and served up quick. Kid friendly too. Bathrooms were tiny but clean and functional. Staff was nice too. If you're in the area definitely stop off for a bite. I had the California burrito. It was cram packed with chicken, beans, rice, lettuce, pico, sour cream & cheese. The lunch portion was 6.50 and was more than enough.

I don't give out 5 stars very often because: One, there are not a lot of five star restaurants out there and two, people are leery about reading a 5 star review but Lupita's definitely deserves it. We moved away from the Norcross area 12 years ago, before we moved we ate at Lupita's once a week. The food was always fresh, the restaurant had great atmosphere and a awesome wait staff. This past valentines day we decided to make the trip to Lupita's (only 20 minutes away LOL) and took the kids for the first time. The food was amazing with the same wait staff and owners. After dinner the kids both said "why do we eat Mexican food anywhere else?" Exactly, we won't anymore. If you want authentic food Sunday is the day for you. They whip up the "real" south of the border dishes as well as their regular menu if that is what you are hungry for.

The food is ok.. I ordered the Chimichanga (chicken) to go, i guess im used to Bigger portions with more flavor! I paid around 17$ for 2 chicken chimis for my husband and i that really left me looking for something else to eat.

This is by far the BEST Mexican restaurant I have ever been to. I used to not eat Mexican until my husband suggested we try Lupitas. That was 4 years ago and we have been back at least once a week (if not more) since then! We always go to trivia on Thursday nights and have a great time! The staff treats you like family and the atmosphere can't be beat. The fajitas are to die for and I have never had a better margarita! If you don't believe me, go try it for yourself. You won't be sorry!

1st time and it was great! I'm from California and know Mexican food! I had the house margarita and the chicken burrito with rice & beans! Service could have been better, hence the 4 stars! My drink was smooth and perfect! My burrito was well seasoned!

  • Ben S.

This is solid Mexican food, but it isn't distinguished. I liked the flavoring of the ground beef in my taco, but the other ingredients seemed to be a bit plain. I enjoyed my lunch special of a chili relleno, taco and refried beans. It ran about $7 and came with chips and salsa. I am a bit picky on my chips and salsa and wasn't overly impressed with either one. Neither tasted very fresh. The service was friendly and attentive, and the location was convenient. We will be going back for lunches in the future.

I've been going to Lupita's for a couple of years now. I found it doing a search on yelp* quite a while ago. I can't recall ever walking out of there disappointed or unsatisfied. Since I frequent Lupita's often most of the wait staff knows I'm a regular. Since my office is nearby I have only eaten there for lunch. Today was the day I chose to make my weekly visit. I like to mix it up a bit and try different menu choices. Some of my favorites are the chicken La Changa, lunch chicken fajitas (a very nice sized portion I must say), or the combo with a guacamole salad, taco and chile relleno and my favorite, the chicken California burrito. Today I went with my fave. It's not a lunch menu item but it's worth the extra dough. It's a huge tortilla filled with chicken, rice, beans, sour cream, lettuce and tomato. But wait, there's more! Once it's assembled they smother it in queso. YUM-ME. I couldn't eat it all. I was a bit sad to let it go to waste but I don't need it going to my waist if I'm full. As always, the service is great. I should know everyone's name there but I'm terrible with names. If I lived nearby I would check out their Thursday night trivia. Seems it would be a fun place to play and sip on some ice-cold Margaritas. If you go for lunch, don't forget to get a Lupita's frequent diner card. After nine lunches your 10th is free. I've enjoyed a few free lunches. Wow, so now that I think about it, I do eat there often...

Worst food EVER!!! We recently moved to the area so we tried this place for the first and it was awful. I had the special fajita and the meat tasted like it had been in somebody's butt. It was disgusting and left the worse after taste! My fiance spit it out!!! He had combo #17. It was spsd to be a Taco, a tostada, and a chalupa. The chalupa and tostada looked the same...an extremely soft Taco on the bottom, lettuce, beans, and a tomato. Idk if they messed up his order or what but it was disgusting. We will never go back!!!

Pretty good solid Mexican food here at reasonable prices. Been here a few times and family has always been happy, kids love it. Services is always great and never had to wait for anything even on a busy Saturday night. The guacamole, salsa, queso fundido, fajitas for two, parillada, and Lupita's Special are all really good. Definitely a place I'll keep coming back to.

I hadn't even gotten past my chips and salsa (complimentary) before I knew it was a great place. Just walking in made me feel like I found my Mexican Place. I am not Mexican but just moved from Homestead where authentic Mexican is standard. The food is great, service is awesome and friendly, and the food is fantastic! Not to mention very well priced. We had lunch for 2 for $13 (pre-tip). Can't beat it for the amazing food!

Not much to look at from the outside, but the food and service makes up for it on the inside. I've been to Lupitas quite a few times over the years and the new owner is a pretty cool guy. I enjoy the cheese dip and the margaritas, and the rice is superb as well. I wish I could go for trivia night, but it's hard to get over to Norcross on a Thursday night. I'm still trying to make it!

Excelent service, great lunch menu, vegitarian friendly, and inexpensive. Oh, and spectacular fresh tortilla chips and salsa! Highly recommended.

Got takeout here for work lunch, but I think I need to come back again and have a real sit-down dining experience because that's like the real deal, right? Regardless, I was rather impressed with Lupita's for 5 reasons: 1. Extremely friendly service. Like, seriously, extreeeeemely friendly. 2. Very reasonable prices. 3. You get a TON of food for the price that it is impossible to finish your plate (well, maybe you'll be able to finish, but I am cursed with a tiny stomach). 4. Huge menu with seemingly endless options and at first glance, it is truly overwhelming. Actually, I wouldn't mind for the menu to shrink a bit, but still, there's bound to be something for everybody! 5. I really enjoyed my fish tacos, which is a good sign since I have deemed myself a sort of unofficial fish taco connoisseur. ;]

Went here last night with a friend, food was great! Salsa was good, as was the guacamole. We also ordered some pico de gallo with jalepenos, and it was nice and spicy. I got the pollo ranchero as an entree, the flavors were great. My only complaint was that they did not use fresh vegetables! I think if they took this extra step it would really up the quality!

I LOVE this place! We moved from California a year ago and was hard to find good Mexican food out here. We were introduced by a friend and really enjoyed the food and the friendly service. We decided to have our party there (my fiancee and I have the same bday) and we would have about 15-20 people there. They were able to accommodate us with no problem and seemed very happy to serve us. the wait staff had no problem with the large group and was very friendly, making sure we had exactly what we needed and wanted. They even brought out sombreros and sang happy birthday to us! they certainly made out birthday special! not only would I eat there more often, but id recommend it for parties or large groups!

My Tex Mex restaurant of choice. After coming in a few times, the manager got to know me and a friend pretty quickly and he always makes sure to say hello. The rest of the staff is always friendly. The food is your standard tex mex fare with no surprises on the menu, but the food is well executed. The rice is absolutely superb, I could probably be satisfied with just a big plate of it!

Pretty good tacos! I do not live close to Lupitas, so stopped in based on Yelp reviews. There were 3 of us. We were seated, waited and served promptly. Collectively we ordered chicken tacos, shrimp tacos, an enchilada and quesadila. All were very good. The corn tortillas for the tacos were great. If I'm in the area I'll stop by again, but otherwise I probably won't go out of my way to visit. Everything was good though!

Yuck the food was disgusting. I must say it again.. The food is disgusting. Much better choices in the area. Yuck!

The service is fast and the food comes out quickly. While you wait on the food, snack on some great chips and salsa, although on a few visits my salsa tasted like it was straight out of a can. The rest of the food is good. The prices are reasonable, and you'll leave satisfied and perhaps ready for a nap.

A lot of my coworkers love this place. However, I am not that impressed. In my opinion, the chips and salsa are average, the food is average, and the environment is kind of stale. The service is quick and courteous, but the quality of the food pushes the rating down to three stars.

One of my favorite places. Food is excellent, and you can special order as well. Love the California burrito (Mexican flag-style).

Why do I give it 5 stars! It is my local go to Mexican, Tex-Mex, Atl-Mex place that has survived for 20 years in Norcross. Just to start-the 5 stars is not for the food but for everything I know about this place. It is an easy to find place right on the corner of Indian-Trail and Beaver Ruin--*****try the chilliaqueliis(SP no good) No frills, quick service, and tasty portions of what you expect. Clean, salsa is good, spice is right, and price is perfect. Don't go here for authentic go here because money spent at a good small mexi joint feels better than giving money to RIO BRAVO......And they are pretty good at what they do. 5 stars for the staff--they helped me move:] Viva Las Norcross

This little restaurant is tucked away on the corner of Beaver Ruin and Indian Trail. I usually get lunch to-go from here. From many who do go in to eat, they do claim to see Lupita. The food is very tasty!

TRIVIA: If you've been missing Trivia in Gwinnett County, you really should check out the Trivia game at Lupita's! It's not too tough or too easy, but right there in the middle. Be sure to take advantage of their $2.50 bottled domestic AND imported beer special all night! And this game doesn't drag out like a lot of other games. It moves at a nice clip. You should definitely check it out every Wednesday night at 7pm. FOOD: As far as food goes, you should definitely try out the Pollo con Papas (chicken breasts with grilled potatoes, onions, mushrooms and chipotle peppers, with sides of rice and a cheesy broccoli/cauliflower mix), which is not only a healthier and more filling option, but it also has a kick with the chipotle peppers which is just fantastic! Also try their chicken soup. Very complex... very tasty.

I really don't know why anyone would give this restaurant more than 2 stars, maybe it was for the service and not the food. Service was good but not the food.

I HAVE to give this place 4 stars close to 5. If you like Mexican food outside of the mainstream you'll LOVE this place. My BFF and I get a California burrito and it's the best! The staff is VERY friendly and if you want a yummy Margarita that you might not think is strong but will sneak up and knock you off your feet, then I highly recommend their Texas Margarita!

Gotta add a star because I finally stepped outside the box and order something other than the la changa or taco loco... Got the fish tacos and they were perfecto - minus the cilantro. That's where one might point out to me that I am at a Mexican restaurant so cilantro would accompany most items, but leave it to me not to like it. They would be more than happy to alter the ingredients though so all I have to do is ask next time. The fish was cooked perfectly flaky and juicy. I really enjoyed them, as fish tacos seem to be my new crush.

Some coworkers and I were craving Lupita's this week but no one really had the time to break away from work for an official lunch break. We ordered Lupita's to go and it was as delicious as if we have dined in. I have had some experiences where the food is good in house but the take out is whack! Anyway, the order was ready for pickup super fast and it was still all nice and warm when I got back to the office. Will definitely order from them again.

The service was fast, the food was hot and tasty and the waiters were super friendly. The restaurant was spic and span and that always make me want to return for more. I came on a groupon and Ill be back for sure!! Glad I found a new spot.

Lupita's is the best!! We go here EVERY week and the 20 minute drive is worth every second! Their food is fantastic and so is the service! They treat you like family! They have our drinks ready for us by the time we're seated and remember our order week to week. They are so friendly and make you feel so welcomed! Great prices and portions as well! Go try out Lupita's - you won't regret it!

Carlos bought this great restaurant from Lupita recently. The food is just as good. Like another reviewer said, don't bother with the combos ( like we did our first visit, which was only so-so. Owner made up for it by being warm and friendly); tonight we had the carnitas dinner and lupitas special (ribeye) which was AWESOME. SOOOO flavorful and tender. I was really tempted by the margaritas - pomagranite, cranberry, lime, and other flavors! - but had to drive home, so next time. Yummy flan and fried ice cream. My kid even spilled her water, and the staff mopped it up with a smile. Everyone was so friendly, especially Carlos. Totally worth your while!

Your money is well spent at Lupitas. The food & service is great, and it is very inexpensive. You will not be disappointed if you like or want to try Mexican food.

I've eaten at plenty of Mexican restarants, Tex-Mex restaurants, authentic mexican, and little taco shops and I must admit, Lupita's is by far the best mexican food I've ever had! The food is sooooooo good! For one: the portions are plenty. I always need a togo box. Two: thier rice!!!! You can tell a lot about a mexican restaurant by thier rice! So flavorful, and more veggies than any other Ive tried. Thier food tastes like Im over at a friends house, and thier grandma is cooking! Attention to detail for sure. My favorites are the fish tacos, the guacomole, pollo con papas (chicken with potatoes), and the guacomole. The staff adds a good energy to the place, they always seem happy to see you. By the 3rd or 4th time, they had already remembered what I drank, and had it ready for me when I sat down. They have a full bar, and plenty of handmade drinks (including the margaritas) to boot. Definetly a place to visit!

My office is very close-by, so this is a frequent Friday lunch locale. You'll probably see Lupita herself there, wearing the tightest clothes imaginable. I usually get the Quesadilla Tropical, which is a folded over tortilla containing cheese, chicken, & onions with a side of yummy rice. Their Coke always tastes great too. It's not a gourmet place, but it's nice to kick back at.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
