Joe’s Crab Shack Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

I frequently go to Joes and usually only order crab legs. On this particular day I decided to try the lobster that has been recently added to the menu. I noticed that the lobster came with pork sausage. I do not eat pork because it makes me extremely ill. I told our waitress this. She then got an attitude and told me that there was no substitute for it. I said that was fine I just did not want it on my plate or cooked with my food because it makes me ill. She then says "well you can talk to the manager!" The manager then comes over to the table with an attitude worse than the waitress's and starts talking to her saying "I don't know what the problem is, you're right, we don't substitute!" I then told the manager that the problem was not that I wanted it substituted I just did not want the pork on my plate. He then says "well I don't know what to tell you" and walks away! I have never felt so disrespected by restaurant staff. The way things are right now you would think that they would appreciate the fact that they are still getting business. The ONLY reason I decided to stay was because my mother was visiting and loves eating at Joes Crab Shack. She was talking about going there weeks before she came to visit. I really do not understand why I was treated this way. I was not nasty with them and did not get an attitude. I just simply asked if my food can be cooked without the pork sausage. This experience really dampened everyone's mood at the table.

Had a good time with my wife, would have giving them 5 stars if i got more crab with my Great Barrier... :-/ but the waitress was friendly and attentive. Food was good. Wife got the Catfish and loved it... also had the Great Balls of Fire, my new favorite... will be back to try some different steam pots.... :)

That was about the nastiest food I have ever had to pay for and try to eat. They over cooked they crab and shrimp. It was coated in some kind of grease. The dipping "butter" had no butter taste and congealed ever before I was done. This is the last time I am going to this place.

We usually have a great and consistent experience here and the kids love it! Service us always exceptional and we just love Kirby, Justin, Shaun, Ebony, Kiwi and several others on the staff. Great crab buckets, balls of fire rock too! Stop by for a great experience - ask for one of the servers above!

I visited yesterday for dinner around 7pm 9/11/15 with my friend. I ordered the strawberry peach sangria which was almost $9 but it was amazing! I ordered the stuffed mushrooms with crab as an appetizer and they were just ok. I would probably order the crab dip instead as I love that. I chose the redfish entree with the crab dirty rice and I was super disappointed. I felt that the dish was under seasoned and the rice very bland. I definitely would not order it again. I ordered the chicken strips, French fries, and broccoli kid meals for my children and they both ate everything minus a few fries so I would say they loved their food. The food was free (month of September special) so mommy definitely loved that :) My friend ordered the appetizer sampler which included the crab dip, fireballs, and calamari. She said that it was very good and she would order all three separately as well. Our waitress was great and she made sure our drinks were always full. She did ask if I wanted to order something else in place of my entree but I declined as I rarely send food back unless there is a serious issue. We plan to try out the $2 Tuesday's where there is an entire list of food/drinks that are $2 all day long. Overall great experience and I will definitely dine there again.

Hm, this was a pleasant surprise of a meal. We've had a family meal at this Joe's location at least once a year, for the past 15 years or so. It started out as a cool place we could get crab legs in a restaurant setting instead of cooking them at home, but it was always just an 'average' place to eat. Then we ate here the other night (a Tuesday). I had eaten at a Joe's in Maryland at the beginning of the month (a Sunday) and wasn't expecting anything different in Morrow, but boy it was. The service: top notch. Attentive and friendly. Food: tastes better than any other Joe's meal I can remember. Our table had the sampler appetizer, Sam Adam's steampot and the KJ steampot. Sampler was as good as it was anywhere, nothing remarkable about this (still yummy). The steampots were special: both a nice surprise of flavor! Usually, the steampots only taste of the seafood's meat and the old bay seasoning thrown on top. These steampots actually had the subtle flavors of the liquids they were cooked in. Seafood was cooked to a *perrrrrfect* temperature. Meat was *just* on this side of cooked and very tender. Clams had just opened a crack - enough so you knew it wasn't rancid, not wide open (usually indicating overcooked). No dancing from the staff which made a little sad (surprised me because this place was very full for a weeknight - maybe saw 2 empty tables this evening during dinner rush). If I could guarantee this experience every time, I'd eat here every night. Not sure if my experience was a byproduct of coming here on a weeknight, but I'd happily try it again to see if that is the case.

I was on vacation in ATL and wanted to experience their Joe's compared to the one in Harlem. It was way better. Our waiter was amazing and the food was top notch. I typically HATE chain restaurants but Joe's is one I don't mind patronizing.

You need to know this if you're going to eat at Joe's: always call ahead and put your name on their list! This was a recent dinner-and-a-movie date night destination. Apparently the restaurant next door was closed for business so everyone was at Joe's. We waited in a turn lane for a couple of minutes just to get into the crowded parking lot. When I saw how packed they were I called the hostess to inquire about our wait time. She said it was over an hour for anyone walking through the doors. Because I called ahead she added our names to the list. After parking, we squeezed our way inside...literally. It was like trying to walk down Bourbon Street on Fat Tuesday. There were at least three dozen people waiting in the galley area. We found a few inches of floor space off to the side near a couple with a baby. We didn't have to wait long though because the hostess called for us less than ten minutes later. We ordered appetizers, drinks and entrées and were there to see at least two cha-cha slide line dances. I'd say we dined for about an hour. As we made our way towards the front door and up the galley, I looked over and saw that the couple with the baby were STILL standing there! I couldn't believe it. The hostess said those who call ahead receive higher priority than people who just walk in and add their name to the list. Her exact words were something like, "It's like getting to the hospital in an ambulance...they're expecting you so you're treated first." The call ins get first dibs on the next available booth or table, depending on their preference. I don't pretend to understand the difference between the person who calls from the parking lot and the one who speaks to the hostess in person. All I know is that their call ahead policy knocked a potential hour-long wait down to about ten minutes. So calling ahead is everything. That experience sealed it for me.

Went for lunch today and experienced bad service. We were the only table in the whole place and we had to first wait for our server to stop talking to the host to take our order. About 10min. Than had empty glasses while the server was behind the bar on her cell phone! Where our table was we could see in the kitchen one of our orders came up and sat under the heat lamps for quite awhile before anyone came up to tell us one of the dishes was going to be a few min more. The service was bad and just added to the fact that we orders were all fried food, and it took over an hour to get in and out of the restaurant.

Food was ok not great, takes forever for our meal to come. And the waitress forgot to put utensils on the table, take a long time for us to get our check, my first and last time

I kind of feel bad kicking this place when they are apparently already down, but they were PACKED and churning out $30+ buckets of Applebees-level microwaved seafood faster than mcdonalds churns out meat nuggets, so I don't feel THAT bad. I ate more than my half of $80+ dollars of food and a tall beer, and was still hungry when I left. The atmosphere looked like something straight out of a theme park; fake ocean-related ornamental stuff, clearly worn down by a combination of their aggressive staff and animalistic patrons. Keep in mind, everyone else in attendance is paying top dollar for these fresh out of the microwave meat legs... they'll talk and chew loudly, and they'll grope that plastic sand dollar with their greasy hands if they want to, god dang it. On a positive note, it was kind of entertaining and I didn't even think twice when I dropped something on the floor. Coming from the city, that can be refreshing in a way. Also, if you like bright colored theme-park style drinks and stuff served out of pineapples that cost $4508672, this is the place for you. PS - they got the order wrong and the hosted brought us out to our table a solid 5 minutes before it was ready (after waiting 45 minutes), so we had to awkwardly wait right in the kitchen entrance. I'm not really complaining though. I kind of expected that kind of thing the second I walked in the door.

The food was good but a little pricey as can be expected with a seafood restaurant no where near an ocean. It took too long for a waiter to come serve us and when one finally arrived he asked if anyone had come and when we said no, he seemed annoyed. Btw there were many people who didn't really seem to be doing much, but he was working his butt off. Anyway he was really nice and patient while explaining the options as it was my friend and my own first time there. He disappeared for a while during our meal because to serve a party of 30 outside. The food was delicious & It was a pretty good experience with great food and a fun atmosphere, they just need to work on hiring some more people or having the people who work there gain a sense of urgency.

I visited on feb 7, 2014 joes on mt zion in morrow ga. Don't waste your time. Went there for dinner with the family and all of our buckets were cold. Complained to the manager and his exact words were "where do you see an ocean in Atlanta" basically everything is frozen what do you expect. Never will set foot in joes crab shack again.

Dropped in on a Sunday afternoon and the place was pretty dead. Got some great food and perfectly cooked crab. The wait staff was spot on with service. Would highly recommend as a early lunch spot on weekends. Fresh food, good atmosphere and awesome staff.

When I told some people that I've never eaten a Joe's before, you would have thought that they were share holders or something. Shocked looks. I'm not a fan of chain seafood restaurants, but I told the daughter, I wanted to go somewhere I'd never been before, and this particular Sunday, every batch of commercials shown on TV had the Joe's Crab Shack Corona Bucket being featured, so we headed out. 30 minutes from my house was this location and it was the closest, not sure, because in the past, it seemed like these were more plentiful, but I guess, you know, economics etc might have shuttered some of them. As we got out the car, the music was SUPER LOUD on the patio, I was also, on strict recommendations from my doctor to avoid stress, so I decided going in, that sitting on the patio was not going to be an option. The music was just as loud inside, but sort buffered with the TV's and full dining room. I'm thinking....why is this place so packed on a Sunday nite at 9pm We were sat quickly, and almost as quick, our server Dominique came over to the table. I told her right off about the commercials, I'd never been here before and asked for recommendations. I hope this doesn't get in any trouble, but I appreciated her honesty. She advised against the Coronoa Bucket, and after seeing that it was $41. I agreed. She also advised against the crab dip, but stated that the Bucket of Shrimp was a good appetizer to start with. So, I did. She was really helpful in choosing our buckets and the seasoning to go along with. She was patient in explaining the difference between the various buckets and which season blend worked best with each. We ended up choosing the Classic Steam-pots. What came out, was wonderful. After reading the reviews, I was fa sure that it was going to be an horrible experience, but it wasn't. The crabs were good, the sausage, was good, and I was even able to snag a second piece of sausage, because I at first thought, mines was left out, but after getting to the bottom of the steampot, there it was. I went with the garlic and herb blend, my daughter chose the old bay blend. I would have preferred a little more flavor, but that may have made it too garlicky, so I won't hold that against them. We also had a drink, some kind of "Sweet Tea" that is served in Mason jars that you are able to keep. WEAKEST sweet tea, I ever encounter. Now, that I wanted to send back and see if they mistakenly left the liquor out. $94 including tip, I thought it pricey for a chain restaurant. I'd rather go to the Fish Market if I'm going to spend $94 for two people to eat. I will admit though, I hardly ever leave the Fish Market with a to-go box, and I had enough leftovers for lunch the following day. 58 of 100

As far as wait staff this place can be hit or miss I've been here many times and I will still continue to go the food is generally good sometimes great sometimes not so great it's usually hit or miss also the ambiance is not too bad as long as its not packed overall could use some improvement but it's not going to stop me from going again

  • Mike S.

The wait staff n bus boys needed some motivation. A 5 hour energy drink. Wings. Something. About a 15 minute wait for our table when it should of only been 5. It took about 30 minutes for our food. When it came we didn't receive utensils a bid or cocktail sauce which took another 5 to get. Our steam pot lacked steam too. It was hot but barely. Only reason this spot gets 2 stars Is cause I'm from Virginia and the availability of good seafood around my area is lacking. So it still hit the spot. Just a little left of center tho

First, not really a fan of chain restaurants but I went in with an open mind. Hubby got sucked into the bucket commercials and wanted to try it. I agreed and here's the end result... First word...GHETTO! Second...BLAND Final Words...Keep it moving and avoid this circus. I knew Joe's was animated, but I never would have imagined I would have seen the wait staff "dropping it like it's hot in front of children"! Overpriced meal for the quality. I took one for the team indeed.

Me and my party of five waited almost an hour to be seated ,expected I guess, it was on a Saturday afternoon. The server josh was very nice and patient with my hearing impaired/socially inappropriate father. The food was hot. I can't speak on the seafood quality but the one seafood lover of the bunch seemed to enjoy it. As mentioned by previous posters the music does get very loud almost club volume and the staff comes out and dances a little. If you like seafood and a loose bar style environment then this is the place for you

I LOVE Joe's. I only get to eat at this chain once or twice a year because we don't have one in Seattle. We went here this last weekend when I was in Atlanta visiting my sister. The service was fast, our waiter Charles was awesome! The poor wait staff having to bust into dance for every birthday must get annoying for them but it made the atmosphere very fun. The food was great. Three woman and we split the Classic Steamer Pot for 2 with stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer. I didn't leave feeling like I had a food baby but I was full. I will defiantly be back on my next visit to Atlanta!

If I could give this place a half a star I would. Worse meal I have ever had. Husband got soup and salad and it was just as bad as the crab I received. Best thing in the place was the waitress and the beer. How people eat this frozen crap is beyond me,

    (1)
  • Brenda S.

Bland food, watered down drinks. We hadn't been to the place in years even though it's close to home. Some friends from Puerto Rico were visiting and had seen the commercials and wanted to try it so we thought we would give them a shot. Can wait years again before going. Nicki our server was great but that doesn't make up for tasteless food. The steamed shrimp appetizer was over cooked. The hush puppies were hard. Poor selection of veggies. The coleslaw was just OK. The crab is probably the only thing worth eating there which is over priced.

I don't know what the hype is about. So many people have told me that this place is great......it's not. The food was mediocre at best. But that wasn't even the main problem. Our waitress was HORRIBLE. Her name started with a D.....she wears alot of makeup. Anyways, we were indecisive about what to order so she had to come back a few times. After we ordered the only she came back to our table was to bring the food and the check. We each only had the initial drink. Not even one refill. We purposely put our empty glasses on the end of the table and she walked by several times (not to other talks b/c it's not like this place was crowded). She had time to sit with co-workers and laugh but didn't worry about us. (We eventually got another server to bring us drinks but we shouldn't have had to you know) no tip for this chick...no more business for this restaurant.

This place is dead LOL they couldn't come to a conclusion on how to do the electric slides that they were doing, LOL... Ok ok ok, to the food: My mom and me got the classic crab pot (whatever it is called) and it had no flavor whatsoever! They gave my mom one shrimp and one potato, LOL, smh just not worth the money. Best Joe's I have ever been to is on the River in Sacramento California!!!

This place sucks. Don't bother coming. The service is horrible, the food is worse and don't expect helpfulness from the manager. They just need to close. We got there and were told of the specials only after we ordered. I got the crawfish half & half which was half grease & half frozen crawfish....bad. 20 minutes after my father ordered the manager came over & said they were out of pasta but offered no apology. Not to mention they were out of orange juice. On top of everything it was extremely hot. Just stay away

Worse experience ever at Joe's. I will never eat at this restaurant again. Almost every appetizer and main meal came out incorrectly and service was absolutely horrendous. Waitress said maybe 3 words the entire time my family and I were sitting down and never once apologized for the incorrect orders.

Hubby and I went to Joe's on the 27th. We just wanted to get out of the house you know. Nothing big. We wind up at Joe's. I didn't really expect great things. Our server Jai was awsome. She made us some great drinks that were not your run of the mill watered down beverage. Hubby ordered the Samuel Adams Steampot Sweet Snow crab, 1 pound of clams, meaty lobster claws, and sausage, all steamed in Samuel Adams lager, garlic and Old Bay® seasoning. I ordered the Joe's Classic Steampot Tasty Dungeness crab, sweet Snow crab, boiled shrimp and smoked sausage. Since I don't eat beef or pork I asked for them to hold the sausage. After a good amount of time goes by our "steampots" arrive. There was NO STEAM at all and naturally I had a huge honking sausage in mine. Jai was nice enough to get rid of that for me and I got a few more shrimp. All in all there was no flavor, no spice, no steam no nothing. I could have steamed my crab better. The crab was either frozen or something because the shells just did not have any SNAP to them. They were rubbery at best. Hubby said the only thing good in his pot was the corn and the sausage! I think Joe's is definately for the under 30 crowd. I will not go back. Well maybe for that Beach Bum Tea and only if Jai is making it.

I won't eat in... the atmosphere is dark and dreary and the carpet just gives me an uneasy feel n... But with that said n done I absolutely looooove there balls of fire!!! They are sooo good, every time I'm in the area I call in an order with a side of fried shrimp and its well worth every bit of the $12. I have not tried nothing else due to the fact that they are so addictive and well worth driving out of my way.

The first time I went was for their lunch special , no I'm joking I went because being from England it's hard to find fish and chips in GA cooked like that .....I was however delighted to find them on the lunch special for a meager $6.99 (same as some meals at McD's) Wow blew me away it was fast hot and just amazing! The second time however was a total disaster 40 min waiting for our food no assurance from anyone (just standing around) that our food was coming.......the food finally came what a mess the platter my daughter ordered was half cold and half burnt I called the waitress over to point out the food was burnt this is what we were told "Oh they have to be a little burnt in order for them to be cooked all the way through!" REALLY? I told her my fries were cold and her reply was "oh I'll order you some more they should be out in 5min" then she left my plate there for my fish to go cold waiting on the fries. So I bit into the fish, I had to put a napkin to my mouth and ,well you kow what I did. It had a slight smell and a bitter taste, Needless to say we left to go somewhere else! Just mad at myself for not finding out who was the cook that day so I can call ahead next time to make sure it's not the same one! LOL. If you are going for friendly waitresses, host or manager you are definately going to thewrong place!

I really prefer going to independent restaurants, but my best girlfriend loves Joe's and misses the place so we go to this location when she comes to town. The service was really good (despite several birthday songs and goofy dances) and they don't push us out the door at the end of the night until we're ready. Our waitress asked very politely if she could close us out since her shift was over and someone else even came by after she left to refill our water. Here I always get a ridiculously froofy drink, even if they are weak. The grilled shrimp w/rice and veggies is the only thing on the menu that I don't feel bad eating. The first time I had the shrimp it was pretty good, but the most recent time everything on my plate was super greasy. How do you grease up broccoli? Blech. Anyways, it's Joe's, can't expect much, but really appreciated the good service.

Becareful when ordering something that you really have a taste for because it may not be available. When I wanted to order cheese sticks they didn't have them. So, I asked for cocount shrimp, well they didn't have them either. Again, I opted for a third choice; stuffed seafood mushrooms, well needless to say they didn't have that either. Ok.... so, I asked the mgr what do you have available, "she replied crabs! Wow!

Joe's Crab Shack is all about fast inexpensive seafood. You really feel like your in a decked out beach themed shack when you eat at Joe's. Eating at this non stop beach party concession like stand is great for large groups. The menu includes appetizers, seafood, salad, soups, pastas, chicken, steak, shrimp and more. Also, Joe's offers daily lunch specials. The customer service at Joe's is pretty good. I went with a large group once and the kitchen took over a half hour to deliver our food, plus some of the food came to the table incorrectly. To apologize for the mess up the manager came by my table and slashed our bill in half. How's that for service? Most restaurants wouldn't have done this but Joe's Crab Shack did. Go to joescrabshack.com for hours and location information.

I'm not a big fan of chain restaurants, but Joe's is always consistant no matter where you find it. The steamer pots are great, and when you're dealing with as much turnover the place has, you know it's gonna be "fresh" and tasty. I just can never make up my mind...so much on the menu, and it's all stuff that now I know where to buy it, I can make myself, but sometimes it's good to sit back and let someone else drive the bus to flavortown!

The seafood tasted fresh and it was spiced well. The atmosphere seemed subdued compared to other locations I and my wife had visited in years past, but that wasn't necessarily a bad thing, as we had a lovely time talking to each other and cracking crab legs! We got a big basket of different steamed items, and while most of it was properly cooked, the lobster claws were tough and rubbery. Also, the server was adequate, but could have been friendlier and more available. I'd go here again, but only because the best alternative for seafood around here is Red Lobster.

  • Kimberly T.

I wanted to come here since the release of their commercial! Me and my husband loved it! We both got the steamer pots. We was afraid that the seafood would taste bland but it was soooo good! The server was great and for dessert we had the key lime pie. It was a pretty good size and it tasted wonderful also. Sweet and tart!

I went there last night with my boyfriend and we weren't really impressed, not that we were expecting to be. The food was alright and the wait staff was entertaining to say the least. If there's a birthday the strobe light comes on and they all come out and line dance after singing happy birthday to the lucky victim while they wear a cowboy hat and hold a pony on a stick. Don't ask why. The food was alright, just not too much of a choice.

The place is simple with regular service and moderate price, but food was really nice. I'd recommend to go if you like crabs and all that stuff.
