Decided to try this place out based on the reviews we saw on Yelp. My wife ordered a Vegetarian Calzone, and I ordered The Gyro. Both turned out amazing, and the service was outstanding! My wife and I defineatly plan on going. Best Bites deserves all five stars.

I'm from Atlanta. I've been to Greece. This was some truly amazing Mediterranean food. Everything was magnificently spiced and the flavors were on point, and when I walked into this empty restaurant early on a Sunday evening there was nobody here. I have no idea why not because it's FREAKING AMAZING. The tzatziki is a LITTLE over the top, but everything else more than makes up for it.

Interesting Turkish/Greek fusion. Food was very good, but I think the prices are a bit high for such a casual/bar atmosphere.

My girlfriend and I tried best bites with some friends. The place was empty on a Saturday night and I can't figure out why. Everything we tried, from falafel, to the greek pizza, to the sampler platter was delicious. Price was reasonable. The beer is cheaper than most, though they were out of the "greek beer" that i wanted to try. The service was on point throughout the whole meal. We will be back!

If you haven't tried this place, you really should. It's like a best kept secret. They were very attentive and the food was outstanding. I recommend the gyro.....Delicious! The chicken sheshkebab is wonderful as well. Both were tender and full of flavor. Served with the best tasting purple onions! So tasty, I ordered some to go with our leftovers.

I'm so glad there is a Mediterranean place nearby. Even better is the fact that it is the best Mediterranean/Greek food I've ever had.

This is truly a gem of a restaurant. If you want excellent Mediterranean ( Turkish ) food, this is the place to go. The staff are very helpful and friendly. They genuinely care about your experience here. My wife is Turkish and I have been to Turkey and had the food there and I can tell you that Best Bites matches the delicious tastes of that region. I had the Gyro (doner) platter and my wife had the Moussaka (sp?). Both were incredibly delicious. We also had the falafel and it was delicious. It is a wonderful place for dinner. A person will go out of here full and happy because of the generous portion sizes. One will not be disappointed here. Afiyet Olsun!

Very good food. The gyro meat is nice and thick and their Taziki sauce was nice and flavorful. Their baklava is also tasty.

  • D P.

Had the gyro and it was good. Not the best I've had but for Augusta, it's pretty good. The meat was good and tasty, not dry or old tasting. I also had the baklava with ice cream. I will have to come back to try the Turkish tea and dessert.

We came in based on other positive yelp reviews and we were not disappointed! The service was terrific. We were happy to see a steady stream of customers on a Saturday night. Even though it was busy, the manager kept a warm smile and calm demeanor, making each table feel like they had her full attention. The food was fresh, flavorful and very nicely presented. I usually hate lamb, and even enjoyed a bite of my husband's gyro platter. Delicious baklava and Turkish coffee rounded out a nice meal for us. We will definitely be back!

I really enjoyed my visit, the food is amazing, the service is impeccable!!! A lot of the food I ate tonight , I tried for the first time. Like baklava, it was amazing, delicate and flavorful, I also tried the falafel , and it was so packed with flavor it made my mouth swirl!!! I will be back to this place, and everyone should visit and grab a taste of Greek!!!

The food was absolutely amazing. Literally the best Mediterranean food I've ever had. The prices were good and the service was quick and polite. I most definitely recommend it.

First of all it has Excellent service. The food was just as excellent. The restaurant was clean and nicely decorated. The owner (I'm guessing) was extemely nice and helpful. I had the gyro and the falafels. Very yummy. I wish I had taken a picture of the food to post. The place also has a bar and karaoke. I will have to recommend this place to anyone in the area wanting great service and yummy food. I will definately be coming back.

Another hidden ethnic gem in the Augusta area that should be celebrated over the mass onslaught of chain restaurants. The location may be tucked away from the lime light of Washington Rd, but it deserves more patronage based on the quality of food and accommodation to requests for special orders. Enjoy!!

  • Ariane T.

We did not eat inside because our baby was asleep in the car. We ordered food to go. My husband went inside and told them we were in the car so they rushed our order. He said it was a warm atmosphere and the prices were good for the large portions you receive. The food not only smelled amazing but tasted flavorful as well. The saffron infused rice is delicious! The gyro meat was well cooked, delicious, and juicy!

This place was wonderful! Ever since coming to Augusta, we've been searching for a good gyro place- and wow, that's all I can say. Huge portions sizes, decent prices, and a full bar make me sorry that I've waited this long to come here! Yum!

Place is out of the way & deserted, but the food is GREAT. The tziki was awesome, hummus had great flavor and the gyro was tender and good. I think the waitress is the owner and she was super sweet & attentive.

We were in a while back and I forgot to do the review right away, but obviously it was stellar since they're on my mind today and I'm 3 1/2 hours away. Excellent authentic food, excellent customer service, clean, quiet little dinner spot. An absolute treat!!

Yum! I found Best Bites while searching for local Mediterranean restaurants on Yelp. Im glad I went there. Everything I ordered was fresh and delicious. The portions are big- enough to share. The service was sweet, I enjoyed the loving family atmosphere. Everyone obviously really cared about giving exceptional service. I will definitely go back and spread the word.

We ordered the borek roll and falafel appetizers, both were full of flavor and delicious. I had the gyro wrap and it also was very good. The baklava was flaky and scrumptious. The staff was very kind, warm and friendly. I will definitely eat here again when I visit augusta and would recommend to others to do the same.

  • Ted K.

Ate here today for the first time, and it certainly won't be the last. Great menu variety (Greek, Turkish, Italian and more), with something for everyone, adult or children. We had gyro dinners which were sumptuous, tasty and a good amount for the price. Friendly, courteous service, relaxed casual dining with very reasonable prices. The quality of the food is like mama's home made dishes. Recipes and preparation are authentic, old world style. A genuine home run for sure. On Columbia Road, so it's easy to get to from Evans, Martinez or Augusta. Don't miss this one.

Family business -mother and son. Amazing Gyros of all things! I had tried them at a couple places, but wasn't impressed. As for "yellow" rice, I did not like at all! Then I ate here! They have pizza that one piece hangs off the plate. Great for After Ball team dinner, etc. It's worth the time and the money (not high) in My Opinion ! And the do have a full bar. It was a nice change of pace, food and attitude!

Superb mediterranean food! I had the chicken kebab with saffron rice and it was amazing!

  • Tee E.

Although my gyro was good, I was overcharged $4 for two gyro wraps (menu states $7.99, but she charged me $10 each for them and I did not request a dinner portion for either). So, August 29 was my first and last time at this establishment.

  • Ryan M.

The food could not have been better. The service was beyond phenomenal and the owner is a wonderfully blessed lady. That baklava was the single most hands down best dessert to top off my meal. And the price is very manageable. Especially for the quality I will be going back.

We are so glad we found this restaurant. Don't be fooled by the name, or karaoke machine. The food is amazing, authentic and delicious. We ate there 4 times in a week while visiting family in town. We tried and loved the kofte, gyro, lamb kabob, Greek salad, turkish coffee and baklava. If you're doing take out, order ahead because they cook it fresh to order so there's a little wait.

Stopped in during Masters Week. Plenty of room in the restaurant, and no wait. The food was top notch.

A total gem! My husband and I tried this place for lunch after a Sunday movie. Quiet spot, which we love! We had the fried feta appetizer. YUM! It was that delicious type of salty, like an olive. Husband got the chicken parm sub and I ordered the gyro sub. Both of our sandwiches were good, but the gyro was especially delicious!!! Oh that tzatziki sauce!! We will definitely be back!

What a wonderful place! The food was authentic...very delicious and fresh. I recommend the Mediterranean gryo entrée. Baklava and grape leaves, yum. You should really try this place! Service was super friendly. Can't wait to return!

Fresh and delicious! Falafel, dolma des, and hummus and pita were so much better than we've ever had. For dinner we had the Veg Calzone and it was beautiful and tasty!! I would highly recommend this place, especially if you like Italian and Greek food!

  • Taryn B.

Great restaurant! Fresh and delicious food. This is one of the best restaurants in Augusta. The borka rolls were delicious as was the pizza, lamb shish kebabs, alfredo, and the pistachio baklava. Awesome food and will be going back!

Absolutely great food and personal service! Constantly moving with the Army, we inly choose local places, and this place is worth the drive from Grovetown!

Came here for 'linner' with a couple friends. It was at about 3pm and pretty empty. We had a few Killians on draft along with the falafel, chicken alfredo, gyro wrap, and a Greek salad with gyro meat. We also had the pistashio baklava for dessert. Everything was incredible! Best meal I have had in a longggggg time! The staff was also amazing and friendly. They had awesome happy hour specials and you can karaoke whenever you want if you feel like it! Will definitely be back...absolutely amazing try it out!!

Small businesses strike again! I would have never, ever heard of or seen this place if it weren't for the fabulous reviews on Yelp. For Augusta standards, and even big metropolitan areas, this gem of a place is a hit! Restaurant/decor: Probably the only thing I can really complain about is that the restaurant itself looks a bit... old, outdated, and gives off a strange vibe. Its a huge, huge space, but it looks like chairs and tables in an abandoned bar. There is indeed a bar in the back, but the big lighted beer signs and the bad lighting make the eating experience here a bit odd. However, they do have very relaxing and interesting Italian sounding music. Service: love the owner here. She was so sweet. The chef brought out our food and he was even wearing a chef's hat! Food: I sat behind this old couple, probably in their 70's, and the husband literally could not contain his joy for this food. The entire time I dined there, he could be heard audibly groaning LOUDLY, about the salad and gyro he was enjoying. Hilarious. The bf and I each enjoyed the gyro - which comes with either a side of french fries (not special) or a side salad. The side salad is actually a huge Greek salad with the most delicious dressing I've had in a while. I would order this on its own! Definitely get this over the french fries. The gyro was HUGE - it was loaded with meat and veggies and tzatzkiki sauce. It was amazing - the only complaint I might have is that the sauce had a bit too much dill in it. Other than that, no complaints. At under $8 each for this meal, it's a great deal in Augusta. Probably one of the best restaurants if not the best I've had during my visits to this city. Best Bites also does fundraisers and caters, too, if you are interested.

BLUF: Food was okay, service was friendly. Definitely good for a quick cheap bite, but don't expect too much. Had the falafel wrap and another wrap, both of which were tasty and came with a side of fries. Not particularly good in any remarkable way, but tasty enough for me to give this place a three-star rating. Service was friendly, but not super special.

Finally! A delicious and *affordable* Greek restaurant! My wife and I dined here over the weekend and tried many dishes. We started with the fried feta and tzatziki. We loved the fried feta and recommend you ask for more cherry tomatoes with this dish. I had the Mediterranean salad with gyro meat and my wife had the falafel wrap. Both were fantastic. The portions are very generous. We also loved their grape leaves. We will definitely return and introduce this restaurant to our vegetarian friends in town as well as there are many options for them.

Great little place- try the chicken kebab! My husband and I enjoyed a nice quiet meal here on a Sunday evening. We tried the Greek salad with grilled chicken and the chicken parmagiana. The highlight of my salad was the grilled chicken. It was so perfectly cooked and seasoned. To be honest, I wasn't impressed that they used canned sliced black olives on the salad...I expected some delicious whole kalamata olives out of a Greek restaurant. My husband thought his chicken parm was a little dry but he did like the breading. Next time I'm going to just get their chicken kebab meal since the chicken was so delicious.

My wife and I went into Best Bites some time back, but left without ordering due to some things going on that had nothing to do with the resturant. Yesterday she tells me we should go, becuase they make such good Gyros. Long story, short we went. I ordered a gyro with a side Ceasar sald, and she got a gyro with their rice. Let me start with the salad. Many places in and around Augusta think that a Ceasar is a Ceasar due to the dressing. No, No, NO!!! A proper Ceasar requires Romaine lettuce, not Iceberg or some other thing. Many places in and around Augusta think a Ceasar tastes better drowned in dressing. No again!!. Best Bites made the perfect Ceasar. Romaine lettuce, parmesan cheese, and just enough dressing to let you know that it was there. Of course, most people have croutons as well, but I avoid them due to being diabetic. Next was the gyro. The meat was flavored to perfection. There was a significant amount. And, the gyro was not only better, but it was bigger than that place in Grovetown as well as the Mall. Now for the crazy part... The owner informed me that I could get a Calzone made with their gyro meat. That's lunch today!!!

The food is exceptionally fresh. No steps are skipped in delivering the tastiest meal possible. For example, I ordered 3 gyro wraps so they needed to use a new cone of gyro meat in order to fill my order. Instead of using the first layer, they wasted it in order to make certain that our food was as fresh as possible. The portions are ample and served with a smile by Susan, the owner. The menu includes classic Greek dishes, along with Italian and American fare. We had gyro wraps and a side Greek salad. The gyro was bursting with flavor and had a generous helping of trading sauce on it and was wrapped in a nice fresh pita.

This place is fantastic! The people working were very nice. Nice family run place. It was raining and the place was empty the day we came. We ordered the sampler platter and everything on it was great. The spices they used were perfect. We decided to try the Greek beer while we waited for our take out. The lady also gave our son a free soda while we were waiting which was very nice. Once again everything was excellent. Rice, gyro meat chicken lamb. There was nothing that wasn't great.

This is one of the few good Mediterranean places in town, and the folks who work here are wonderfully friendly and helpful. The gyro platter, kofta platter, and borek rolls were absolutely delicious. I'd intended to save half my order for a later meal, but I wolfed the entire plate down. There are only a few things I think they should try to improve on. For starters, my kids were disappointed that they didn't offer kids meal sized offerings of the mediterranean dishes. The kids menu only consisted of burgers, grilled cheese, and the usual fare, and my son REALLY wanted his own kofta. They need some music or something playing in the background, too. When we got there, we were the only people in the building, and it was creepy quiet. We'll definitely be back here when the family gets an itch for Mediterranean.

Wonderful restaurant! Our family decided, since the Greek festival is this weekend, to introduce our children to it. To make sure they like the food prior to going and to enjoy a nice night out. We ordered quite a bit of food, 3 appetizers, an entree each, and baklava. Not only was the staff friendly, the atmosphere quiet with the soft touch of Mediterranean music in the background, but the food was delicious! The Calzones were almost literally the size of footballs, the Falafel was fresh and soft, and the baklava even had a bit of really good vanilla ice cream in center of 4 pieces. The only reason I am giving this restaurant a 4 star review is because with only one host/waiter times between ordering or getting drink refills or paying our check could be pretty long.

Best Bites is not off the beaten path, but if you blink, you'll miss it. After, you discover the location; it's all uphill from there. A friend and I dropped by on a weekday and decided to dine at the bar. First off, the welcome was nice and inviting. The restaurant is family owned and you can tell right away. The bar was not packed so, we had the bartender's undivided attention. She was awesome. Her service was superb. She checked on us often, but not in an annoying way. I wasn't in the mood for a big meal, so I had the hummus and Falafel, which was great. I also had a few of my favorite cocktails. The atmosphere is really chill. The restaurant is spacious and very clean. They even had a Karaoke machine. I may put that on the to-do list for future visits. I plan to bring my appetite on the next visit. Best Bites has authentic Mediterranean food and I must fully experience it. This is a great place for groups because of the space. One of the owners came by to say hello and she was very nice. I'll be back for round two!

My husband and I happened upon this restaurant a few months ago and were pleasantly surprised. You know it's going to be good when you walk into a Greek restaurant and they are speaking the language. He had a typical Greek combo with gyro, grape leaves, etc and I had their chicken curry which was the special. Both were delicious. We have also had their pizza, which was also above average.

Went here yesterday based in the great reviews, and I have to say it stands up to what everyone else has said! The food was really good, we ordered gyro wrap and a gyro calzone and both were absolutely on point and delicious. The portion size was perfect we took half our meal home so we could try the baklava for dessert. The baklava was really good! To top it off the service was great and the prices were awesome! Appetizer, 2 entrees, and a dessert for under $35!! Will definitely return!!

I kept coming back over and over to this place because they had gyros and 'cause I try to keep it local when possible. But after my last takeout from this place, I can confidently put this restaurant in my list of "never again." I was probably their only takeout customer for the day every single time as well. The lights are never on, there's no music on and there's a real creepy vibe going on. I've yet to have a consistent wrap at this place. Or price for that matter. I regularly would order a gyro wrap or a gyro platter and there would be times that there was no cucumber in the wrap, or too much mint in the tzatsiki sauce or no tomato or onion when there was an abundance just two days before. I decided to try something different this last time and took a chance on a falafel wrap. My fondest memory of fried chick peas were learning to scoop and shape them with my girlfriends in their grandfathers restaurant and I could feel my mouth water as I drove home. I had visions of aromatic goodness and that wonderful crunchy bite and my stomach grumbled terribly but I prevailed did not eat it in the car. The falafel wrap was the worst meal I've had in Augusta yet. And there really was no place that held that honor but most certainly is now. The wrap had no flavor to it unfortunately and was so try, I had to drown it in the tzatziki sauce they charged me for. First of all, I asked for tahini sauce. And there was tzatziki sauce in the falafel sandwich so maybe that's how they do it. Second-they charge $1 for a 2 oz. Solo cup that isn't even the correct sauce, adding insult to injury. Speaking of sauce, I asked if they had any sort of hot sauce but was told no. Lo and behold, I see a gallon of it in the kitchen right by the door...Hmmm... And the falafels had no trace of green to them, weren't the correct shape and had the wrong consistency altogether. It gave me a stomach ache which tells me there was some sort of flour filler as I didn't eat any of the pita and I have a wheat issue. And in the end, I'm down $20 for 6 bites of "falafel" and 3 strips of gyro meat that was decent at best and the only gyro I know of in Martinez. My stomach hurt and I was terribly let down. But at least I know better now and I'll avoid this place like many people already do. I don't see how it has 30 positive reviews but then again, most of these people have just one review under their belt so I'll start screening my Yelp visits again thanks to this place. 2/2014

This is in our top two favorite restaurants near Augusta, Ga. The lamb kebab and Mediterranean platter are always juicy and delicious. The lamb stew has a bit if a spicy kick which I love. The curry special is awesome. The Greek style pizza was good. The baklava is flaky and delicious. My husband says the hummus and pita are the best he's had, even after visiting the Middle East. Our toddler likes the falafel. Not to mention the owners double as the wait staff and cook and ate always friendly.

Food here is awesome! I keep coming back for the gyro wrap. Service can be slow at times as this is a family-owned restaurant. Owner is super friendly, recognizing us from dining here at several occasions. I always feel like they appreciate their customers. Gyro wrap - Lamb is tender and flavorful. Bread is thick and hearty. Wrapped with lettuce, tomato, and tzatziki sauce. I love the sauce, but there are times where there was just too much of it, killing the rest of the flavors. Having a bit more consistency would most likely up my rating. The gyro wrap is served with fries, but I didn't have any problems asking them to substitute a side of rice instead. The rice is rich and hearty, and I loved the texture of it (not mushy). Mediterranean gyro - This platter comes with lots of lamb, tzatziki sauce, a couple pieces of bread, rice, and a couple pieces of vegetables. Similar to the gyro wrap, but costs $15 instead of $7.50. I personally would rather have the gyro wrap + rice, which is essentially the same thing. Then I get to dine here twice! The platter is tasty but not worth the money, IMHO. Lamb stew special - Small bowl of lamb stew cooked with herbs and potatoes, couple pieces of toasted bread, and rice. The stew itself was bland. The portion size is terribly small for the price. Nothing too terribly "special" about this special. They have a bar here. Last time I was here with a few friends, and we ordered fireball shots. One of my friends noticed that the shot glasses came out dirty, so we asked the bartender to get us clean ones. She came back with clean ones, but had her fingers in the glasses and talked over them. Alcohol kills the germs, right? Service can be a bit slow on busier nights, but it's a pretty laid back atmosphere. We enjoyed being able to hang out and not feeling like we were being rushed out after our meal. They sometimes forgot to check in on us and refill our drinks, otherwise I'd probably give this place 5 stars. I heard great things about their baklava, but I'm always full after the gyro wrap because it's so good and I can't stop eating it. Will have to come back just for dessert. Love this place and will be coming back regularly!

Fantastic traditional home cooked food. The spices in the Felafel were amazing, the home-made hummus was great, and the gyros were exactly what you'd expect at a Mediterranean restaurant. Every dish tasted like we were trying the grandparents' recipes. We will definitely go back. Service is a little questionable, but the food is worth it.

I am coming to the party late, but pay attention Augusta/Martinez. Here is a place that needs to be supported. Look at the reviews. So it is New Year's Day and the impossible to please chicken nugget cheeseburger boy is with me and we call and Best Bites is open. Away we go and find it tucked in a small store front on Columbia road. We entered and are greeted kindly by Susan. We are the only patrons in the place because it's New Year's Day. Susan explains a few things on the menu and it's the Gyro Platter for me and the Meat Calzone for nugget boy. I love a place where the food takes a little bit of time. This tells me someone is giving it the right amount of attention to detail. Wow, the food shows up and I am serious when I say, I have never seen a prettier Calzone in my life. Golden brown, puffy and well proportioned in size. Now nugget boy never eats a great deal, so to see the whole thing disappear is testimony on its own. He is stuffed and happy about it. I had the gyro platter which was fresh and seriously tasty. I am a lover of well prepared rice and I almost hate to say it, but the jasmine rice was the best part. It was spectacular. The meat and sauce were also well worth the visit. People, "mom and pop" places like this are an endangered breed in Augusta, if you do not support it they will go away. Do you and your family a service and visit Susan and her son set Best bites Meditterean soon and often. I

Great food! Atmosphere is relaxing and service is attentive, but not overly attentive. Owner attends to customers and is in back making food from scratch along with the chef. Fresh food!! Go go go!

Love this place! Every time is a wonderful experience. Always great food, friendly service. Must try the calzone! The house dressing is also a treat. Good food, just never have the Greek olives.....should not be on menu if you never have them.

Best Mediterranean in the area. Had the curry chicken, hummus and gyro plates so far. All delicious. My son who hates everything different loved the lamb kebob. Service is excellent. We go couple of times a month. Everything is always so fresh and authentically prepared.

As an appetizer, we ordered the falafel, which was quite tasty! Plenty of herbs and the right flavors. For my entree, I ordered the Mediterranean Gyro. The description included kalamata olives, but only plain chopped black olives were served on the salad. The meat was okay and the tzatziki tasted store bought. My brother ordered the 10 inch pizza and tried to order anchovies, which are listed on the menu, but was told they don't serve anchovies. He received a calzone instead of the pizza, but decided eat it anyway. He said it was okay. The marinara sauce was good. The interior is not appealing. It's old, dark, and dusty. Service, though friendly, was very slow. Overall, very disappointing meal.

This place was mediocre, at best. We got the falafel and garlic bread as an appetizer. They were okay. The marinara sauce for the garlic bread had a strong, weird flavor to it. My wife had the Philly cheesesteak. The meat didn't taste fresh. The bread was good. I had the gyro and it was good--your common gyro. The fries that came with both were frozen and nothing special. They would save some money and make money buying potatoes and making good fries. My daughters ordered the spaghetti and meatballs. The same marinara sauce used for the garlic bread was used, and it was close to inedible. They took a couple bites and that was it. I tried it and wouldn't be able to eat the whole plate. The service was good. I think this place will be going out of business in the next year or two. They had a n industrial fan cooling the place, which I think is a sign that funds are a little tight.

If I could give this place a 0 star review I would. I went there to eat lunch and both of us ordered each gyro. The pita was cold, the meat was warm and we had more of a salad in the wrap than meat. The older lady serving us didn't even ask us if we needed anything while we ate, not one time. Never going back.

We knew nothing about this place before trying it but will definitely be back. The service was fast and friendly and the servings large. I had the sausage sub which is almost impossible to pick up. The sauce is the thickest I have ever seen- almost like tomato paste with terrific flavor, and the sausage is great. My wife had a gyro which was also large and really good.

I really like this place ! I always get the gyro, and it's always good. What I like most, is the customer service. I will go over and over again, for that alone!

I'm writing this review in the middle of the meal because it deserves that much attention. We had the hummus appetizer and Mediterranean Gyro with two side salads. It was enough for two people. Having tried a similar meal at Shishkebab Restaurant in Evan, we didn't expect much, but this meal hit us with SO MUCH FLAVOR - it was a blissful experience. The wait staff was wonderfully attentive. I have a feeling that our waitress is the owner/cook. The atmosphere makes it obvious that this is a small, family-owned business. I dearly hope that it continues I do we'll because Augusta needs establishments of this quality. Full bar. Good hours. Definitely coming back.

I think I may be the only person that had a bad experience lol.. I won't knock it to hard but my husband and I planned to go out for dinner and visit Best Bites because we had high hopes with all the great reviews.. When we arrived our hosted sat us and then returned to take our order so first thoughts were ok their understaffed tonight no biggie there's maybe 4 other tables occupied at this time.. We received our drinks promptly and then our order was taken by an older women (which I assume was the owner?) well we waited and waited and waited so probably an hour goes by and our food is served ... We both order gyros with fries because it is one of our favorite meals! The gyro meat was tough and lacking a bit.. The pita bread was not pita it was almost like a tortilla! It was weird but we were hungry and ate it anyway.. The fries were good but lacking as well .. We felt like it was a rip off and I don't know if maybe it was just a bad night or what but i always like to give places another try so maybe lunch time would be better? We will see!!!

Really great Mediterranean food! Every time I go there, I am the only customer. People really should check this place out more. They also have liquor, which is rare for a Mediterranean restaurant. Had the gyro platter and it was good. The rice is the best. They also have the best salad here in Augusta.

We drive by the place all the time and today we decided to try it. It never looks busy, but it should be. We had the blue moon on draft. The beer was cold. I ordered the falafel app and the Mediterranean Gyro Entree. My Husband had chicken shish kabob. Oh my LAMB! I had enough of food for two on my plate! It was so good. My husband loved his chicken and swears to order it again. You can tell the chef put TLC on to the serving platters. The couple behind us ordered a pizza. That looked so good too. I give it 4 stars because it smelled a little funny in there. I plan on making this apart of my regulars.

I was tired of the restaurants on Robert C. Daniel near my work. Hopped on Yelp and found this gem less than 10 minutes from the office. I have seriously craved for some quality Greek, one word, AWESOME! I had the Gyro Wrap and Greek salad and it was nothing short of delicious! I will be returning with the family next time!

A little hard to find, but over all good food. I had the gyro platter and it only came with half of a piece of bread for a bunch of meat. They did sprinkle some sumac over the dish and the pickled onion were spot on. I am coming back tomorrow to get a piece of pistachio baklava for the wife.

It's okay. Lunch on a Sunday at noon and we were the only two in people there. Gyros are okay. Tzatziki had too much dill for my tastes. The menu lacks a consistent theme. The food is average. The service is fine. Overall, it's okay but I'm not rushing back anytime soon.

Yay for food but the service was terrible. We came here for lunch for the gyro wraps and they were really good- lots of tzatziki sauce and meat. I could have done without the lettuce (but that's personal preference) and more onion and tomato- I think mine had two chunks. The fries were even good- crispy on the outside but still soft on the inside. I would have given it 4 stars but the service was a joke. Two people were waiting on take out when we came in and they left before we ordered- leaving us as the only customers. The woman who greeted us at the door (I'm assuming owner?) was sitting in a booth across the room most of the time with a friend or something. The friend got our drink order and brought them over (apologized for not being a waitress) and the presumed owner took our orders then never came book. Our food was delivered by the cook and the lady sat in the booth and never came back to see how it was, refill drinks, etc. Not even when we were obviously done, so we walked up to the register. She couldn't even stick around long enough for us to sign the receipt. She just said have a good weekend and went back to her booth. The gyro was good but next time we'll try another similar place who might appreciate having us as customers.

This is a great little place that has been open for about a year but I came across it only today. Unfortunately I am leaving the area soon but wish I had heard about it sooner. I will definitely be back at least once to this family owned restaurant. I came here because I wanted to try a new place for lunch. I ordered the Gyro Wrap for lunch and baklava for dessert. I was not disappointed. The gyro had fresh ingredients and it came with a small side of fries. Fries were a nice golden brown, with perfect crunch. The house-made pistachio baklava was also delicious. This came as four small pieces with a small scoop of vanilla ice cream in the middle. Service was great! Looking forward to my next visit!

Wow. Great choice for a freshly cut and well-seasoned gyro. The prior positive reviews are spot on. Stopped mid afternoon and the place was empty, but the gyro meat was as good or better than most. Will definitely stop again if I ever get back to Augusta.

The food was amazing (shawarma) and the service was a bit slow but had a great personal touch. The big thing hurting this place is the identity crisis they have decor wise. It looks like an Irish pub/bar. Mediterranean cuisine with a karaoke machine, shot specials, and domestic beer signs. It's a diamond in the rough and could be a huge success in Augusta with a bit of an image overhaul. My 2 cents anyway.

The gyro was very good and flavorful not the best I have ever had but definitely in the top 5. The hummus was fresh and amazing. I will come back for there amazing happy hour which is like 2-7 or something crazy like that and a dollar off wine which the waitress said it ranged from 5-6 dollars a glass. Don't quote me on the prices and the times but I like this place and I will be back!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Best Bites. Everything was fresh and delicious! And the owner (I believe she was the owner?) was so kind and friendly. I got the Gyro sandwich, which was fantastic. My husband got the lamb shish-kabob--which was out of this world! I don't know what they used on it, but the marinade was sooo tasty. We also got the friend feta cheese appetizers--also a winner. I would definitely reccommend this again to anyone that wants something different in Augusta. I loved Greek and Mediterranean food, and I hope to come back soon. Thank you!!

This is the best place to eat in Martinez, hands down. I've been here 3-4 times now in the past couple nights. So far I've had the Greek salad, falafel (amazing!), gyro platter, gyro sandwich, gyro calzone, lamb kabobs, and the kufta. The tiramisu and baklava are also top-notch. The only thing I'd avoid so far are the "garlic knots." It is more like thin pizza crust with garlic and olive oil. So far it's my only complaint.
