Pinkberry was scads better, but hey, this place charges by the pound. Nevermind that the natural tart acid of yogurt is lost under a mountain of sugar, and also sugar toppings, with additional sugar. East Cobb has achieved some sort of perfect perpetual motion machine of consumption with all the yogurt-smoothie-juices joints hard by the workout-training-tennis/swim clubs. Empty calories in, guilt, workout, burn, reward, calories. Repeat. A mobius strip of suburbia.

maybe it's just me, but I prefer menchie's over yogli mogli any day. sure, both froyo places cater to the american taste palette. but menchie's beats yogli mogli (and some other froyo places) for several diff. reasons. 1) menchie's always offer better fruity flavors (especially for sorbet). examples of past flavors have been: mango, green apple, grape, honeydew 2) menchie's offers twice or even triple the amount of toppings that yogli mogli carries 3) menchie's is more likely to have at least 1 or 2 toppings that may cater to the asian (or non-american) palette 4) menchie's labels their toppings on the outside of their dispensers 5) sample cups are placed on the counter for guest to grab at their own discretion and try samples 6) their spoons are cuter and bigger (if that matters to you lol) the only hold that yogli mogli has over menchie's is pricing. I can't quite remember how much yogli is, but it's about 0.8-0.10 cents cheaper (by the oz.) than menchie's. at the moment [2014], menchie's price is at -- 0.48 cents + tax, per oz.

I'm new to Menchie's being that I'm a Floridian and we don't have this chain where I live. I really enjoyed my visit and my yogurt, as did my children. The chain is like all the other fro yo chains, where you choose your flavor, add toppings, and then pay by the weight. This location was clean, easy to navigate, and the employees were friendly. They had more fruity and light flavors than most places, but did offer quite the variety of toppings. Everything from chocolate and whipped cream to fruits and candy toppings were available. We'll definitely stop by again!

This was my first time at Menchie's. It was very clean inside and bright. They have little cups out so you can taste the various flavors before deciding on what you want to purchase. It's do it yourself so you can mix and match. They have all sorts of toppings including fresh fruit. The owner was there and he was very friendly and helpful. I will definitely go back.

We have been coming to Menchie's since they opened. Always good. No problem when you ask for the ingredient book. Owners are visible and friendly when I go many Saturdays. Top notch!

Cute decor and great location! Convenient to all the shops in the Avenue. I love all the flavors in sorbet and fro-yo they provide and switch up. The toppings are endless. I always have to get their cheesecake bites and marshmallow topping on whatever I get. Great job you guys, keep up the good work!!

Family loves this place! Free tastes :). Plenty of toppings. Forgive the digression, it's a clean yogurt shop... Check it out... But especially the walls! An amazing memorabilia collection on the walls!

Used to visit the Menchies on Shallowford Road about 3 miles away until it closed. Just one visit to this Menchies was enough to NEVER come back. The day I came it was staffed by an inattentive African American teen girl who was busy talking to her large lumbering female friend in the glassed in area to the side. There were no sample cups out. At least 4 or 5 other guests were looking for sample cups. My companion saw the stack behind the counter and pulled it out and set them out on the counter since the employee was busy talking to her friend. The floor had toppings scattered across crunching under foot. The Counter tops were messy and almost half of the yogurt machines were empty. I was an avid Menchies customer who spent way too much money on my yogurt (seriously in a month close to $100 on yogurt). The same problem with the closed Shallowford location happened here. Slow updates on flavors, same flavors all the time, messy location and poor staffing. I won't be surprised if this location closes soon too.

Great concept. Charge by the ounce so you only pay for how much you want. The no sugar added strawberry is fantastic. Sugar free fudge too! Very nomilicious.

One defining characteristic of Menchies for me is that it usually caters to an Americanized crowd. This means the froyo always borderline a soft-serve taste and creamy textures, and the "tart" flavors are always dairy free sorbets. Let me see if I can recall all the flavors.... Sorbet: Lime Kiwi Mango Tango Regular: Mango Peach Coconut Cookies and Cream Butter Bricksicle (or something like that) Mint Red Velvet Cake Batter Pumpkin Luscious Lemon Basics French vanilla Vanilla Chocolate At this point my memory is flaking on me, but I think I got 95% of them. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I tried majority minus the basics, and as expected, all tasted like soft serve. I really enjoyed Butter Bricksickle...I don't why. However about 1/4 of all the flavors I tried were almost melted. If I pay 44cents/ounce, I think it wouldn't be too much to expect froyo with texture, than goop, right? The toppings were a lot fresher than I expected, and ranges from assorted chocolate confections, cereals, candies, regular fruits, and syrups to drizzle. I tried the cheesecake bites and they tasted a little sour to me..so I will be avoiding that for sure. The mochi weren't super soft but they were acceptable. Bottom line, I would usually pass but when a good friend pulls you in for froyo, you can't refuse. When Menchies tries to pull my heart in, I find that I can always refuse.

With Pinkberry right around the corner, I could see this Menchie's having a tough time luring crowds. Lucky for them, they're located in the very popular Avenue at East Cobb, so they should have enough foot traffic to remain a viable competitor for the fro-yo heavyweights that have made their way into the East Cobb fro-yomarket. It's self serve, with more of an emphasis on the sweet/non-tart flavors like cake batter and red velvet. I tried the red velvet (which tasted just like licking a bowl of batter from a red velvet cake but with an unpleasant chemical aftertaste), a strawberry lemonade sorbet (dairy free and okay tasting), the original (very sweet for a tart flavor, but my favorite), and the blueberry mango tart flavor (good). We got there right when they opened, and some of the yogurt was still a bit "soft" for my taste -it seemed like it needed more time to freeze up. The cut fruit looked very fresh, and they have a wide variety of toppings available in a very clean and well stocked topping bar. I also appreciated that they don't give you a giant sized cup, thereby making it easier to resist temptation. It's fine if you're running errands here at the Avenue, but otherwise I would go another half mile down the road to Pinkberry.

Kids loved it. The design inside is awesome, and perfect for kids. They had Rio running on big screen TVs, plenty of flavors, lots of toppings. The fro yo was good - loved the flavors, but the texture wasn't as smooth as some of the other local shops. I mixed the chocolate cake with Irish mint. Kids had milk chocolate and topped it with everything from gummy worms to m&ms, sprinkles, and candy-coated something or other. Yum all around, lots of fun, and 7-yr old spent time doodling on the chalkboard.

This Menchies had me at peanut butter,LOL. This Menchies is in a very nice neighborhood and was very busy the day we stopped by.....probably because it was pretty hot that day. The Menchies I usually go to doesn't have the peanut butter flavor that I like unlike this particular location although I wouldn't drive all the way to Marietta for just that. The servers were friendly as always and I would recommend Menchies to anyone. It's a healthy alternative if you can resist all the sugary toppings they have available off to the side.
