Not a big hot dog fan generally, but these were sooo good. The regular dog comes with chili, mustard and onion. I got one of those, one with slaw added and a side of [crinkle] fries, which amounted to a whopping $6. A regular dog is only $2.05 so it's possible to get out of here really cheap if you want. Look, is this a "5 star restaurant", no. But it's the best hot dog I've had in a long, long time. That and the spicy chili and slaw makes this easily a 5 star place. The cheap price is just icing on the cake. Heads up, though, cash only! Enjoy.

Had my order to go. Not a big fan. I gave it two stars because of its reasonable prices but the chili, although it has a nice spicy kick to it, its too chunky for my liking. The first time I ate here I ordered the cheeseburger and chili cheese fries, unbeknownst to me, chili was on the burger... I've never had it made that way and will probably go back and have that again one day. I also ordered chili cheese fries that was served in a giant Styrofoam cup and it had beans in it and I just never had it that way either and wasn't too impressed. I come here only because my man is in love with the hot dogs here and hes a regular.

First time and I loved it!! Quick service with a smile! I got the chili slawdog, comes with onions and mustard. The bun was super fresh and didn't get soggy or overcome by the toppings. The chili has a nice spice to it and tastes really good. The slaw was a perfect counterpart to the child's spice. I also had the onion rings. The was fried perfectly crisp. Loved this place and will be visiting again soon. Thanks guys!

Ok so let me day a few things before I begin my review: 1) DO NOT judge this place by the way it looks on the outside or inside 2) if you're not a fan of "hole in the wall" establishments you may wanna reconsider 3) PATIENCE is a virtue you want to exercise because there will be limited parking and a line out the door ( which is usually a good sign, right?) I'm not a huge hot dog eater, but when I have a taste for one there's no better place to go than Brandi's. A hot dog should truly be HOT and should be nestled in a soft, pillowy bun - that's exactly what you get!!! Spicy or Regular - With it without toppings like spicy chili or slaw - plain or with mustard. These hot dogs are the perfect size and has lots of flavor. Typical sides include fries, onion rings, chips. That's it! Great dog. Cash only. Seat yourself . The ONLY NEGATIVE I have is that they close early and are not open weekends.

Again, a great experience at Brandi's Hot Dogs. They're simply the best hot dogs in Atlanta.

I've been a regular since my first visit 8 years ago and I'm not even a big fan of hot dogs. A chili dog here with or without slaw cannot be beat. If I go more than a week I start to crave a visit. If you don't like spicy, ask for your chili dog to be "drained." Sweet tea (only). All drinks served with perfect crushed ice. Service is great. Parking is sparse (do not park at child care next door or you will be towed).. Cash only. Counter service and about five small tables. Brandi's is a little gem and rare find.

November 19th, 2013 - Today was a world class day on the awesome scale! THE SCENE It's started off with plans to hike Kennesaw Mountain with my hiking partner Jamarcus and lunch afterwards at Kennesaw State Universities campus cafeteria. I recently saw an episode of Georgia Traveler that highlighted the farm-to-table cooking to which the university has won the 2013 Innovator of the year award and bookmarked it. But our day got all rearranged after meeting a series of people who caused a spontaneous change in our food plans. A hiker suggested we stop at Mountain Biscuits, which we did. While there I told Jamarcus about the slaw burger @ Red Eyed Mule and since he'd never eaten one, what kind of yelp friend would I be if I didn't introduce him to it! LOL Well, while having round two of lunch @ Red Eyed Mule, Sabra (the owner) made a suggestion that we also try the hot dogs @ Brandi's. This is why I love small businesses. Although they are completely separate businesses, they really look out for each other. Sabra bragged on this place as if she was their biggest fan. ----- THE EXPERIENCE Brandi was the first to greet us when we walked in the door. The kitchen is open and surrounded by a diner style sitting counter. Every customer in the place overheard my conversation with her which went something like this: Me - Sabra says you have thee best hotdog ever here, so we came to try one. Brandi - Which one would you like? Me - Hit me with your world's best shot! Brandi - Do you mind slaw & chilli? Me - Bring it! Brandi - I have to warn you, it's going to be a little spicy. Me - I'm a wimp when it comes to spicy. How spicy are we talking? Brandi - It's pretty hot. At this point nearly EVERY customer in the place is simultaneously nodding their heads. One couple even asked me to sit where I would be facing them when I took my first bite so they could see my reaction. Me - Is it OMG make me cry spicy or just a little kick in the jaw? Brandi & several customers reply in sync - The slaw will take some of the heat off. Me - Okay, let's do it. ------- For the next few minutes while our hotdog was being prepared, I had so much fun as other diners tried to intimidate me with stories of spicy terror. Some couldn't wait to see if I was going to be a big wimp about the spiciness and I think a few of them even started taking bets... lol! The moment arrives! Brandi split one single dog between myself and Jamarcus and the silence fell over the diner as everyone waited to see my reaction (not kidding, it actually went dead). First bite... a little hot but not too bad. Second bite... heating up a little and third bite got even hotter, but even a wimp like me could handle this heat, which everybody already knew but me. BRING CASH Although the hot dog was excellent, the stars really go to friendly service. I really wanted to write this review to fully express just how special Brandi made us feel. We knew nothing about this place prior to coming and it was so close to Red Eyed Mule that we didn't even have time to check out yelp reviews. Well, I noticed while we were eating that everyone seemed to be paying their final bill with cash. I rarely carry cash, so I walked up to the counter a little concerned to ask Brandi if they accept credit or debit cards. "No" she replied, "but don't worry about it. The hot dog is on me." As much as we insisted on running to the nearest ATM, she wouldn't accept it. Continuing to insist on paying would only add to my embarrassment, so I accepted her generosity while planning a swift return visit in my head. This entire day trip to Kennesaw was filled with meeting fun and very kind people and it's a day both Jamarcus and I will remember for a long time to come. Thank you Brandi! Really enjoyed your world famous chilli slawdog and world class friendly environment. Your customer base is a really fun group, and that to me says a lot about you. SIDE NOTE I returned to have lunch a week later and to pay for my original hot dog too. Brandi wouldn't allow it. "But I drove 50 minutes to come pay you!" I exclaimed. "You came back to have lunch and I appreciate that" she replied! PRICELESS :-)

This place was a secret until I finally came by during their tight M-F 10-3 window to see what the big deal was. SO happy I did. I love little hotdog shops and didn't know there was one a few miles from me. Gotta get the chili cheese dog all the way! The chili is pretty spicy so be warned - though if you love some kick you'll be in for a treat. The sides are good but seriously, you're not here for the sides ;)

Spicy!!! Brandi's World Famous Hot Dogs earned it's title. Brandi's is located, not to far from my workplace, but I never thought to try it out until a coworker suggested it for lunch one day. She knows Brandi from high school, so yes....we may have recieved the red carpet treatment.~lol The place was crowded, so I stood around for a minute or so waiting for a seat. I spotted 2 seats between two gentlemen at the far end of the bar/counter top area ( if you would call it that ). My coworker was running a little behind because she stopped to get cash to pay for the food. ( CASH ONLY ) At first I was a little afraid and wondered what I had gotten myself into, because the man beside me had turned red and was sweating while still shoving a slawdog down. I looked over at him and asked, "what's hot, the hotdog itself or the chilli?" He said he didn't really know but they were so good, and then ordered another one before he left - Lol. I waited for my coworker to get there before I ordered. I didn't have any cash and didn't want to end up busting dishes on my lunch. When she arrived, she took the lead and ordered first and I just ordered the same as she did, 2 slaw dogs, no onion, light chilli ( btw: I found out the heat is in the chilli ) and a order of onion rings. Brandi took our order, she was very nice and came over to chat a bit. Her mother was also there taking orders, very nice people. The food was good, comfortably spicy slawdogs and onion rings that were fried perfectly. Served on the countertop in a paper hotdog plate ( I guess that's what it's called, yes, I'm making my own name for things ), I took a papertowel and put it underneath my food as I saw other people doing. I washed it all down with a good ole fountain drink, free refills. ( healthy lunch huh??? well I was not shooting for healthy this day. Lol) I can't really say what the hotdogs are priced at, because I didn't pay this time, but I will definitely be going back to Brandi's sometime in the near future.

Using my system of grading based on the particular niche a restaurant inhabits, Brandi's gets five stars as the best divey hot dog place. First off, the chili dogs are great, what with the chili actually having a significant amount of kick while being very tasty. Not a lip-numbing kick, but more than what many would tolerate. I'm referring to those whose foreheads bead up with sweat after eating mild salsa. Those people should stay away from Brandi's chili dogs. Second, the service is spectacular. There are enough people working here that my order was taken before I had hardly settled into my seat. Along with the chili dogs and fries, I ordered a soft drink and within ten seconds, a cup filled with ice was in front of me with a nod towards the soda fountain behind me. And literally as I was reseating myself after filling my cup with soda, two chili dogs with fries arrived. All with a smile. Third, the ambiance is just what I like. Divey, as I said, but without being greasy or otherwise off-putting. I like the paper towel dispensers, too. Five stars. The only thing that might be an issue is their popularity. I'd driven past a few times during peak lunch hour and saw it packed. This time, I arrived about 11 AM and found the place only 3/4 full.

Best hot dog in town! We try to get a Brandi's fix at least once a week. The chilli dog is the best. She will fix it your way- mild, spicy, on fire, with cheese, slaw, chilli.

2.5 stars but ill bump it to 3 Nothing special about the hotdogs I don't understand why people love this place. 2 chili hotdogs with slaw fries and a drink for $7.10, prices are good

Great old school hot dogs place! Loved the no-nonsense menu and cheap prices! This place is a blast from the past, and a great spot to take your folks when in town. We had a couple of chili dogs, and they were tasty. We'll be back.

These folks have captured the art of the chili dog. Very similar to the Billiard Academy chili dog in Thomasville, GA, but MUCH more spicy. That spice puts Brandi's over the top for best chili dog in the state. Very crowded, but the service is friendly and reasonably fast considering the sheer number of people in the restaurant. A waitress told me they sell between 700 and 1000 hotdogs per day, and they are only open from 10:00am to 3:00pm! Amazing!

DAMN GREAT HOTDOGS!!! The name tells the whole story & is earned by the HOTDOGS. Dogs & burgers & all come with chili, mustard & onions - I enjoy adding cheese. It is a small place- no drive thru - great people - great food. if you enjoy HOTDOGS (or even if you don't) you HAVE to try Brandi's. only open 10-3 M-F & is cash only. you may wait a little or a lot but don't miss this little piece of heaven right here in Marietta GA

I'm not a hotdog snob. I mean, I barely eat them, so when I took a bite of the dog with slaw and spicy chili on a ridiculously soft bun, I WOL'd (Wowed Out Loud). That's a good hot dog, and you gotta understand...we weren't going to come here. I'd never heard of the place. In fact, it was a neighboring restaurant that we were eating at that flat out told us, while you're in Kennesaw, you gotta go try Brandi's for the best hot dogs on the market. When your competition says that about you, you just gotta go, and go we did. When I walked in, two things caught my attention. First, the place was pretty crowded...great sign! Second, was the emphasis and playful ribbing at how spicy the dog would be. Spicy is subjective, because I didn't think it was very spicy at all, minus a nice little slow burn at the end, but if you're not a fan of some heat, ordering a beverage isn't a bad move. Seems like I've said this more than once about Kennesaw establishments, but man, some of the nicest people you can meet and with hospitality that's deserving of the stars they currently have. One quick note, this place is cash only, so go ahead and bring in a few dollars for the price of a couple of hot dogs that they could really get away with charging more for, but are just good people with a great product. Please, please, PLEASE go check them out if you're in Kennesaw (or even if you aren't). They're that good!

Love their chili and chili slaw dawgs! Great spice and the chili cheese burgers are great too. Love this little place!!!

Old school junk food heaven. If you're worried about calories/carbs/cholesterol, this isn't the place for you - although if you can recognize that sometimes it's just great to enjoy a freakin hot dog... look no further. Locally owned and operated, and you will see Brandi happily serving customers most any day you walk in. This is a lunch place, and only open til 3 pm. The food isn't gourmet, but if you like spicy chili dogs, you might find it to be one of the best you've ever had - in it's own bizarre simplistic way. Always cheap, but bring cash. There's not much to explain about this place, it's just a great hot dog.

This place is PACKED! Went to find a local place and I sure did. Great hot dog and the owner and her staff were super nice. She knew all the regulars and greeted every one of them. Really nice southern hospitality.

Absolutely deserving of the title World Famous Hot Dogs. These hot dogs are spicy, so get the slaw dogs to take the edge off. They are delicious. Don't go when you are in a hurry because they are packed from the moment they open until they close. I call in an order to go to avoid the wait. The staff is very friendly, but very busy!

My husband introduced me to Brandi's and this is my absolute favorite place to get hot dogs and chili at. They are seriously the most amazing dogs I've ever had in my life. And the chili is to DIE for. If you don't like things too spicy, ask for your chili drained. It takes some of the edge off of it. I also highly recommend the slaw to balance the chili with the cooling aspect of the slaw. The chili cheese burgers are good too but the hot dog wins hands down on flavor. Parking can be a little tricky at times, and it's on the smaller side inside and it's always packed. This is a family run business and it comes through in the food and quality that comes out of the place. It's definitely on the dive side of restaurants though - don't expect fancy decor here. Think something out of the 70's, with a large counter to eat at to boot. The people who work here are great - very friendly and fast and efficient. My only complaint is that they aren't open late enough so I can make it for dinner (way too far from my work to hit it at lunch time) and they aren't open on the weekends. BOOOO! Even just one Saturday a month would be awesome!! I love Brandi's!!!

Love this place! Old school hot dog joint walking distance from the hospital. I knew I would love this place as soon as I walked in. They only accept cash! There is a wrap around bar where you see them prepare your dog. Lots of locals poor in here for lunch. Classic joint! We need more places like this around.

My dad took me to this place because he's a huge hotdog fan. I'm more of a hamburger type of person but their dogs are amazing! They are definitely spicy but will definitely be back. When you are eating there, you feel like you are in a small town and great service.

The time travel is first rate! Oh, and the food is good too! Sleepy little hole in the wall place to eat. Lunch is fast, cheap and good. You cannot go wrong. BTW, they got a 100 on the cleanliness of the restaurant when they were last audited by Cobb County Food & Beverage stassi. God bless the hard working women running Brandi's.

World's best hot dog a and chili is no lie. Moved away to Emerald Isle, NC and all the "best" and local landmark hot dog stops can't hold a candle to Brandi's! I miss having a chili, cheese, slaw -no o's- dog fix very now and then. So much so, I wrote a note to see if Brandi would share that awesome recipe. I hope so.

Brandi's has the best hotdog you can get anywhere! I drive 20 miles just to get my fill and would drive farther if I had too. My favorite would have to be the slaw dog, the sweet coleslaw and the perfectly spiced chili are a match that will make you want more, and if you like slaw dogs, you will agree. Well worth the wait and the drive.

Now this is a destination.... get that --- a DESTINATION. Only took me 30 years to find the place - had to see it on tv - but this is perhaps the only place I've been in since I was a child that wreaks of community spirit. We entered the place and were looking for a free seat or two... Folks raised their hand and pointed to a free spot. You sit down at the counter and are greeted by the person sitting next to you... I am still in shock. When the fellow sitting next to me left he said he hoped he would see my friend and I when we came back to lunch again. AND I HAVEN'T EVEN TALKED ABOUT THE FOOD YET! The reason we went to Brandi's was for a hot dog...the one I saw on tv...the one with chili and slaw on top. The gal who took our order must be Brandi so I tossed our fate into her lap and said, "Make it like it should be eaten"... turns out that it should also have some mustard and onions on it. Hey.... I can't complain about that... it's a weiner, isn't it?!!! This place works like a well oiled machine. The gal that does the hot dogs must do 100 an hour and probably a lot more. She snatches a bun from a steam warmer, plucks a wiener from the hot place, slips it into the bun - gives a squeeze of mustard and a sprinkle of onion to the dog and then meticulously sloshes- ever so neatly- a portion of chili and a smear of slaw; nestles it into a paper holder and when the entire order is on the tray.... it is delivered. Hint: take a towel from the towel rack and make yourself a place mat. Take another towel from the roll and use it for a napkin. The chili is hot spiced - yummy for those of us who like intense heat but offset by the slaw on top. I think the combo is superb. The onion rings are crispy, crispy and delicious. You can't go wrong on either one. And that, dear friends, is what I ate. check the other folks here for their fixin's.... I'll bet they all say the same thing. This is a DESTINATION - and experience that you won't forget.

Took my boss from Arizona here when he was in town. He was pleasantly surprised! Great hot dogs, SPICY, but cool them down with a little slaw!

I should begin by stating that this was not my original choice for lunch. I originally intended on dining at The Red Eyed Mule down the street. However, I walked in at 2:18pm not realizing they close at 2pm, and I was looked at as though I was a green eyed donkey. Rude-rude-rudio. Lock the door, I say, if you don't want people wandering in after hours. Brandi's is a very short way down the street and looked interesting enough from the outside, especially since they claim to be "World Famous". I walked in through an old screen door to a small interior that resembled the inside of a sports-field concession stand. There are about 6-8 small tables and a counter overlooking the cooking area for sitting. The menu is very short. Couple hot dogs, couple hamburgers, fries, onion rings and drinks - that's pretty much it. I ordered a slaw dog - made with a slice of cheese, semi-spicy chili, mustard, onions, and coleslaw - onion rings and a soda. The hot dog as a whole was very tasty. The toppings were great all together, and the chili that I was warned would be spicy was actually not terribly hot. (Note: I do not enjoy spicy things because I am wussy, and I don't like to be in pain while I'm eating. The chili had me a little runny but the overall taste was worth it. I believe anyone who likes spicy will not even notice the burn.) I couldn't help but notice the coloring of the hot dog was a little strange. It was dark pink on the outside, and it got lighter towards the middle until it was practically white. It was an 'ombre' hot dog, I guess. I still ate the whole thing, and a day later I'm still alive. I noticed my onion rings were fried to order, which is nice. They were not quite savory enough for me but I took a few to go and realized they improved when I ate them cold. ::shrugs:: My tab was a whopping $5 and change. I would go back, but I probably wouldn't go too far out of my way. However, since the service was quick, the owner (Brandi was there) and employees were very friendly and I could tell they have a lot of regulars I would recommend it for an inexpensive and filling meal to someone in the area!

I love the old fashioned nature of the place. Simple and straight forward. Hamburger or hotdog with chili. Coke or ice tea. Classic American fare. They are spicy, the fixings are awesome. Slaw was top notch too. Cheap too and bring cash as it's cash only.

Brandi's World Famous Hot Dogs was featured last week in the AJC's Best of the Big A ( blogs.ajc.com/food-and-m… ). In fact, they were just named Atlanta's #1 hot dog. The article was intriguing, so some coworkers and I decided to make the hike up 75 towards Kennesaw Mountain and found ourselves at Brandi's small little shop. Brandi's isn't much from the outside or inside. It's pretty much a small, old, beat up shack. The chairs are falling apart, the countertop and tables are worn out, and the parking lot isn't paved. That didn't stop people from coming, though. We went yesterday (Thursday), arrived just before noon, and the building and parking lot were at capacity. Because of the recent ice storm and precipitation over the past 1-2 weeks, the gravel/mostly dirt parking lot was filled with puddles and quite muddy. It took us one rotation before we were able to find an open parking spot. When we entered, we were stared at. This is a shop frequented by old folks and locals. It actually reminds me of restaurants and diners in Thomasville, NC (near where I grew up). Very old fashioned. It's just one giant room with the kitchen, a counter/bar for eating, and some small tables and chairs. There's just one menu, above the cash register. This place is cash only! The menu is very simple. Just hamburgers and hot dogs. Sides include onion rings and fries. The prices are very reasonable. Each hot dog is under $2.00. Brandi's is known for their chili, which is spicy. There is not a single item on the menu higher than $2.30 (burger). Drinks are $1.00 for small and $1.50 for large. It's nice to have a place that doesn't stick it to you, especially on the drinks! They have plastic pitchers of sweet tea and a small fountain with Coke products. You can also get canned soda, although you don't get free refills on those. I ordered a chili dog, a chili slaw dog, and chili cheese fries. The dogs were good. My coworker, Ryan J, said they were "damn good." The dogs themselves are pink, inside and out. I think they boil them. These are regular sized dogs, not jumbo or anything. The chili is indeed spicy and very good. Both the meat and bun are soft. There isn't much to it. These are just really good hot dogs. I love slaw, so I prefer the chili slaw dog over the regular chili dog. One thing I think is interesting is they don't offer an option to get a non-spicy chili dog. The chili cheese fries consist of crinkle-cut fries with the same chili drenched on top. They give you a plateful of these, so it's best to split this order with others. Mostly chili, not as much cheese. It's good. I also tried their onion rings which are also good. The breading on Brandi's onion rings are darker, more firm, and less greasy than other fast food joints. Finally, the ice in the drinks are the crushed variety, which I like. Brandi's is one of the "seven wonders" of Cobb County according to an AJC article they have proudly displayed on the wall. The other seven wonders include the Big Chicken (check out my review!), Marietta Square, and Kennesaw Mountain Battlefield. The servers were friendly (were we served by Brandi?) and you can purchase Brandi's t-shirts to wear and show off to your friends if you'd like. I'm not sure what makes their hot dogs "World Famous," but in end, they do make a great hot dog here. Just be sure to watch out for the pot hole in the parking lot when you leave! #Yelp365 - 21/365

If you like the Varsity, you will like this place. The hotdogs and hamburgers (which have already been cooked well-before you place your order) sit in separate pots with water on them, to keep them from drying up. The beanless chili is ok, if you like pain later on. I tried the chili dog, the cheeseburger and the chili cheese fries. It was mediocre....not worth the drive. The service reminded me of what I would get at the Varsity 10 minutes before they closed for the night. I won't be back. Minimal parking unless you want your car demolished by the train going by. @ Skip O........."perfection" is a strong word. @ Jeff M......this place is definitely a DIVE. The Health Department won't even go in there.

So if you don't like spicy food you are out of luck at Brandi's. As Jay L. said, they have a very limited menu. The thing to get is the chili dog, which is pretty darn hot (ie. spicy). You can get a slaw dog, I did, but that's about all they have. On our visit they were out of fries. And cheese. My slaw dog was good, the slaw was excellent. The bun was nice and soft but the dog was very small. I ended up ordering another and could have done a third. The onions rings were OK, nothing special. Our server was gruff and bothered. The place is very small, dirty and cluttered. If I could eat spicy food maybe I'd give them another star. Too bad they don't have an option for a mild version of their chili.

I mean its a hole in the wall little joint that you just dont find much anymore. If you cant appreciate that aspect then the place likely isnt for you. The dogs are just above average...but the chili is amazing and has a greaty spiciness to it. Prices are great too...get there early, hard to find a seat frkm 12 -1

It's a hot dog stand folks. The hot dogs are killer. This is not a four star restaurant and you will not have a four star dining experience. I note comments on "its cheap, etc." Yep it is. That's just an added bonus. However again let me stress it's a hotdog stand/restaurant. So if you want killer hotdogs, burgers, etc, then by all means make a bee line for this place. If you want crepes, souffles, and the like go elsewhere.

Deliciousness in a hot dog bun. It's messy though, so don't wear a wedding dress. First time coming here, several people recommended it and boy am I glad they did. This place is old school. There is a counter which you can get counter service which is what I opted for. I ordered two all the way dogs (which is spicy chili, mustard, a slice of american cheese, chopped onions and slaw on top-yes chili and slaw), some fries and a sweet tea. It was one of those meals where you pause in the middle of it and sigh contentedly "hmmmm that's really good". Bring cash (there is an ATM at a bank two blocks south if you forget). Parking can be in short supply try across the street if you can't find one. The place is hopping, fast service and super friendly. So I asked everyone how many years have you been coming here, 10 years was the first guy, 33 years said the 2nd guy and 69 years said the 3rd! He had been coming here before it was Brandi's, before it was Betties, before it was Coras, it was Ray (something or others). 100 Score for cleanliness. There are a few tables that seat four. The perfect spot for lunch. As I left the guy next to me ordered a dessert dog (one more for the road, ha!). Yes it's that good. You can see why the line snakes out the door sometimes. I am a fuller than a tick.

Picked up lunch for some co workers and had a chili dog and a chili burger. Great food and even better people. Love this place.

i dont know how they got the hot dogs to be pink on the outside and white on the outside but it's kind of entertaining to look at while you eat. Hot dogs are a little spicy which was great. I loved the extra kick. Slaw dog was much better than expected. Will try again soon. Finally got an opportunity to make the trek to Kennesaw to try Brandi's and I will definitely be back. Much much better than the Varsity; however, beware that it is still capable of doing the same amount of damage! Lunch for two with Chili Cheese Fries and Onion rings + waters was only $10.00 + tip. Can't complain about that. Now I just need to go hit the gym and wear off some of these calories. Can't quite give it 5 stars since I'm not craving it already a few hours after lunch.

Let's cut to the chase: Order the first hot dog, get it with everything - mustard, onions, slaw, and chili ... Is there a better hot dog in Atlanta? No, there isn't. The place isn't exactly fancy. It's a dive. The parking lot isn't even paved. This place is cash only. But you won't need a lot of it. Grab a seat anywhere inside, table or counter, it doesn't matter. Three women were inside running the show. All were incredibly friendly and sweet. Your food should be in front of you in about 30 seconds. This will offset the 30 minute drive from Midtown ATL. I ended up here after a recent trip to Detroit, where I consumed my bodyweight in Coney Islands at both American and Lafayette. I woke up today with ridiculous hot dog craving. I took a Zantac and hopped in the car. I went on a hunt for ATL's best hot dog. Mission accomplished. Two ridiculously amazing hot dogs. I can't even describe how good the hot dog is, let alone the mess of toppings that come together in the most perfect way. Small yes, but feel free to order more. As much as I loved Lafayette Coney Island (my recent favorite), this tops it. This leaves Varsity, HD1, and all the other places in ATL in the dust. And did I mention the two loaded hot dogs were less than $5? That's absurd I tell you, absurd!

What a pain in the butt to eat here. They don't open during the weekends, and they only open during lunch hours during the weekdays. When can you find the time to come here? Also, this place is pretty much located in Kennesaw. So if you do want to make a trek to eat here, you would have to drive a long ways from your work. If you're unemployed, it makes things easier since you can actually make it up here for lunch, and you can afford it. It's a cheap place to go. Also, I love that fact the total price comes out to an even number. For example, I got 2 dogs and a drink, and that came out to $5 tax included--none of that $4.99 BS. Anyway, being in a small shack in the middle of nowhere upper Marietta doesn't seem to deter people from going. This place is busy. It looks like a family run business with three generations working there. The oldest lady looks like a chili machine. She doesn't miss a beat putting their famous chili on their dogs. Speaking of chili, I think that's their special ingredient. And they put it on all their dogs. It's very spicy and has a ton of garlic. It's good. Their hotdogs themselves are pretty plain. They don't bake their own buns, toast their buns, cook their sausages on the grill, or do any fancy stuff. They just boil the meat, put it on their supermarket-bought bun, and slab some chili on top of it. The hotdogs are small too. I would get 3 if you want to get full. 2 might satisfy you. 1 will just piss you off. Even though these are not the fanciest or the best dogs in town, I'll still give it 4 stars. I like the atmosphere, the chili, and the price.

Delicious! This is a great place to go! Get the slaw dogs, a fry, and sweet tea! The burgers are pretty good, also! You have to get there early, or the parking lot is FULL!

This place has a dinky appearance. The restaurant looks like it has its share of history. The narrow, gravel lot has barely enough parking. However, the place is bustling with all sorts of folks during lunch-time. The menu is simple; hotdog, chili dog, slaw dog, fries, chili fries, onion rings, fried pies. The service is pretty fast, how long can it take to make a hotdog? There's a roll of napkin per table, which is a plus for messy eaters like me. The foods are served on paper plates. The hotdogs has a pink undertone! They're on the small end, but they do pack some flavors, especially with some chili or slaw on them. At the rate I eat, I would need 3 hot dogs to feel satiated from this place; however an extra dose of fried goodness really helps to complete the meal.

Brandi's chili dogs are as close to perfection, The Varsity, as you can get. Be warned, the chili does have a spicy kick! Don't let the hole in the wall looks put you off, the food is the true star here and Brandi's chili dogs can hold their own against anyone's!

Great hotdog. It reminded me of hotdogs I got when I was a kid growning up in Newark, NJ. The ladies working there were super nice. My only gripe was that when I was there one or two guys at the bar had looks on their faces like we were reenacting a scene from a civil rights movie("what you doin in here boy!!) Oh well. They'll get over it!!! But let me reiterate Brandi and the ladies were sweeter than a bag of sugar. It was just a couple of patrons who looked like they had had an issue. Or maybe it was just me and that chilli was burning them up too!!! lol. All in all. You have to try these dogs. You can't not love them!!

Went here the other day with a friend. Had seen it while driving around checking out the area near my new job. Brandi's is an old school 1950s style fast food joint. Great food, super cheap (under 10 bucks with tip for two guys). Cash only though! The staff is very friendly and the place is full of regulars. The menu is very limited (which is the only reason I gave them 4 out of 5 stars) as they serve dogs and burgers with fries, onion rings or chips, so if your not in the mood for a dog, this is not really where you want to be, but if you are, I can think of no better place to go! In no uncertain terms, this places CRUSHES the Varsity. I ordered the slaw dog; a hot dog with Brandi's homemade chili and coleslaw. I was warned that the chili was hot and did not really believe it would be an issue (this is Georgia after all), but was very surprised at how hot and flavorful the chili was. The slaw was a great complement and balanced out both the flavors and the heat. Brandi's is a great old school mom and pop road side joint! Check it out if you are in the Marietta off of Cobb Parkway.

Stopped in one day and met with Brandi herself. Tried a chili dog while I was here. The hot dogs are small, but they're priced accordingly so you're getting a good value. The chili has a nice kick to it, so if you do not like spicy food, do not order the chili dog. (You can request that they drain the chili which reduces the spicy-ness). The place is cash only but it'd be next to impossible to spend more than $10 here, even for two people. Good hot dogs at a great price. Good luck trying to find a seat.

DAMN GOOD DAWG 1. its a joint, so I love that its a joint...nothing fancy, paper towels are your napkins and then you just sit down and eat. 2. the dogs are real red hots, got some kick and spice to it and hte casing is good. 3. the chili and slaw dogs are awesome. Great combo. I am a hot dog lover and besides chicago dogs, this is my favorite when I am outside of chicago. It blows away skyline ( dog food-for dogs!!), any coney island place and is on par with a chicago dog from portillos. Peace, love, eat it, and enjoy it while you can.

The hot dogs, hamburgers, and french fries are great. As well... they have that awesome chipped ice. The food is wonderful, the service is wonderful to put it simply. There is a reason this place always has a line out the door after an hour of being open until it closes. The food is greasy so it is not for the light stomached. Try it if you love hot dogs!!!

Limited menu. Mostly counter service and CASH ONLY. Great place for a tasty cheap lunch. The hotdogs have a good flavor, the Chili does have a kick that leaves a little burn on your lips when your done (I like that!). Service is friendly. Parking terrible.

Okay, I don't know why people are writing such great reviews about this place. I get that it's cheap... but so is McDonald's. A coworker and I went one day a few months ago. I ordered a hotdog, fries, and a coke. She got a hamburger, fries, and a coke. The food is straight out of a concession stand, maybe even worse. The hotdogs are boiled, not grilled, thrown on white buns. Her hamburger patty was ridiculously small and overcooked. Our drinks were canned sodas. Fries were decent, probably the frozen kind from the grocery store. Yes, both of us paid less than $5 (cash only) for lunch, but the food was worth less that that.

I am still unsure what makes Brandi's world famous but I do like it there. Its a small joint by the railroad tracks with a small parking lot. Nothing special or fancy and honestly I wish they served "all beef" dogs instead of your standard dogs. Whats kinda cool is the color of Brandi's hotdogs, "bright red"...yep! The service is hella fast and the food is hot as prepared after you order. They serve crinkle fries which I really like (not sure why the shape of a french fry can make a difference but it does for me:-) The interior is basic, almost divey. They serve good iced sweet tea and use the mini crushed ice (wish they had small cubes instead but oh well). You can get your chili, cheese or slaw dog and mix match those any way you choose. The chili is hot though! Brandi's also serves fried pies which are tasty and go with the whole weiner setup. I will say Brandi's is not the best hotdog I've ever had but I would definitely return and tell a friend. I also think the hours of operation may be limited somewhat as well....

  • Mia H.

I had read many reviews that called these the best hot dogs in the Atlanta area. I love hot dogs so I tried it. I was disappointed, to say the least. The hot dogs they use are cheap, poor quality products to begin with. The much acclaimed chili didn't have taste, just mild heat. The fries were decent but the fried pie? Horrendous. It was not crisp, in fact doughy, soggy and tasted like burned oil. Food is cheap but that's not my criteria for quality food. I would pay twice the cost, like I do at Barker's, for quality food. Hot dogs may seem like low brow food but when done well, it's one of life's special treats. All I can gather is that ppl praising this place are just interested in cheap grub or have never had great hot dogs, thus-with all due respect, have lowered expectations for what a good dog really is. Won't be going back.

First off....I don't even really like hot dogs, yet, I'm giving Brandi's a 4. Keep reading... Went there for the 1st time this past Friday around 1:30pm and the crowds were starting to die down. I've driven by this place so many times around lunch-time and it's always packed (including the parking lot), so come early or come late or be prepared to wait. I got a chili dog ($1.85), a hamburger with cheese ($2.25 + $0.25), chili cheese fries ($2.25 + $0.25), and a large soda (~$1.85). Sounds like a heart attack right? Well...by no means is this place healthy for you, but then again you probably wouldn't try and get a healthy meal at a hot dog place. Anyways, what really seems to make the meal is the Chili. It's a bit spicy, but you could probably put it on just about anything and it would taste good. The hot dogs themselves are bright red, which makes me think they're whatever leftover meats (pork, beef, chicken) that they could squeeze into a cylindrical shape, but don't let that scare you. They're tasty and pretty cheap. I'd definitely try this place again...but maybe I'll bring my defibrillator with me the next time :)

My husband took me here and I have been salivating to get back here ever since!!! You hear so much about places that have "the best of...", but Brandi's is the real deal! You must go & you must have chili on our dog. You will have no regrets & will be addicted!!! The staff is friendly, so long as you are. Know your order before you get to the head of the line & make sure you have cash. Don't linger at your seat when your done & they'll love you just as much as you'll love them!!

Wow, I was a bit sceptical this place was still open after my last hunt for a dog turned up closed, I didn't have my hopes up. Was really glad I found it though. I know the area but it still was a slight challenge to find. As said before, hard to miss, difficult to find. I went for the chilli cheese dog and and order of rings. Don't you dare skip the chilli. Spicy and perfect on the dog. But not so spicy you scared ones can't try it. Next time I'm trying the slaw. The hot dog and service were 5 star but the rings were lacking. Frozen out of a box and an off flavor to them. I think next time I may do the chilli fries cause the chilli is just that good. I did have to knock down one star on the rings. Do your happy lunch belly a favor and find this place. Only open M-F 10-3.

Best hot dog I've ever had. I used to think it was the Varsity, but I don't go there anymore since I've had Brandi's. The chili is what makes it great. Plus the lady who assembles all of the food with incredible precision. Barker's Red Hots? Please.

A hot dog joint, specially designed to meet the needs of a spicy chili dog lover - Daniel B hit everything right on the head - I'm a local and I love it, but have added some comments on Daniel B's notes: I shouldn't eat there, but I go anyway 2-3 times a month - here are some facts: - 99.9% chance that Brandi took your cash - if you forgot your cash, they'll take a check - I forgot mine once and she said drop it by next time - parking spots are brutal - tell those that don't like it to stay away from my spot(s) that'll work for my F-150 - It used to be Betty's, yep, that's why all of the locals are around my age (60+) Betty sold out with the recipe for the chili to Brandi - My son likes it, stationed in Hawaii now - sent him a Brandi tee, and it gets comments all the time -some ladies order 'drained' chili for their dogs, they come out a little milder - they stare at everybody - most folks are just stuffing their mouths - everyone always seems to be polite to me - but I guess they think I'm harmless and they ignore me - I like your review sir

  • Dale C.

I give it five for two reasons, it's perfect for what it is, and it must be in my blood to eat here as my dad and his mother would eat here back when it was called Betty's. This could be last meal material as it's so simple but so good. Northerners prefer those snappy dogs with a more hearty feel to it (my girlfriend included) but I love the steamed soggy buns and juicy boiled dogs dripping with the spicy chili--i'm salivating right now. There chili burgers are good too.

I recently wrote this about Catfish Jim's, and the same can be said about Brandi's: It's a small place with a simple premise; they only cook a few things, but they do so quite wonderfully. This place easily serves up THE BEST hot dog I've ever had out in my life. My wife and I ended up with 3 hot dogs (2 slaw dogs and 1 chili cheese dog), some fries and a sweet tea. The fries were of the frozen variety, but still came out nice and crisp. Nothing special, but still pretty good. They also serve a good sweet tea. Unlike many other places, it's the right amount of sweet. The main attraction, of course, are their hot dogs. The place gets absolutely packed during lunch, and after having eaten a few of their specimens, I can certainly see why. The buns are nice and soft (steamed, I think), the perfect compliment to the yummy goodness they hold. The hot dogs themselves are truly magnificent. The taste is out of this world, and their size is just right. My favorite was the slaw dog with comes with chili, onions, topped with coleslaw. I honestly wasn't sure how it would taste (I've never had coleslaw on a hot dog), but something about it just works. Their chili is also really good, and it has a nice kick to it (something you don't find often enough). All I can say is that if you're looking for a hot dog experience, get yourself to Brandi's right now. There are three things to note if you are planning a trip here: 1) The place gets busy and both the restaurant itself and the parking lot are small -- too small for the crowds. It works to come a little after the lunch rush. 2) Cash only. Nothing is expensive, but make sure to have some greenbacks with you. 3) Funky hours: 11-3 M-F. Sucks because I don't work anywhere close to here and can only come on a day off. If you can get passed those things, you'll be in for a treat.

  • Anissa S.

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet. Hotdogs are average - the chili makes them worth eating. Perfectly spicy. A wonderful, guilty, greasy pleasure. Fries are nothing special so I usually skip them. Sweet tea is good but it's been almost too sweet a few times. Seating is a bit of a problem especially if you sit at the counter. No place to put you purse and you have no room to move except if you want your elbow in someone's lunch. The chili bumps it to 4 stars.

    (4)
  • David S.

My meal is always chili slaw dogs and an ice tea. Great spicy chili that is leveled out with the slaw. If you want to seem like a regular don't ask for unsweetened tea because they do not have it. Come early as parking is tight.

  • E D.

I've been here twice now. It's a cheap place to go for lunch if you work in the area. The place gets packed and has very limited hours. The hot dog with chili and slaw is pretty good but it's just a small red hot dog. The fries are definitely frozen crinkle fries and nothing special. Not bad for a cheap lunch but nothing to make you go out of your way.

I'm sure we all know the definition of a dive. This place is a prime example. From the outside, it doesn't look great, but it doesn't have to. On the inside, everything looks dated... but it doesn't need an update. Everybody in the area swarms this place at lunch time. You come here if you want the best chili dog or slaw dog in Marietta. Sure they don't have many items on the menu, but the food is great! Parking is a bit tight, but I've never not found a spot. Bring cash. I haven't ever tried to pay with credit card, but I don't recall seeing a credit card machine at the register.

This place has the best chili dog I have ever tasted. It has the old diner feel with Brandi just making hot dogs non stop. The place gets extremely crowded and the parking is minimal. I would recommend coming here after 1 PM to make sure you get a good experience. The chili is a bit spicy, not enough to make it unpleasant though. Just the right amount of heat. I love the red hots and steamed buns. I will definitely be back. I brou

I like me some Brandi's..... I knew nothing about this place until my co-workers sent around a sign-up sheet to order Brandi's hotdogs and one the guys were going to make a run for pickup... I especially like the hotdogs because their spicy and the chill sauce is hhhhmmmm goooood. I'm greedy as you all may already know therefore I get TWO hotdogs. One with slaw and one without...and that famous chill of course which is prefect for the buns! Cute lil joint right off the side of the rd...can't miss it!

These are some of the best dogs I have found in the south. These are what a Varsity dog wishes it was. The chili is spicy and it "hurts so good" The fries although frozen are done just right. I would rather have a perfect crisp/tender frozen fry then a LIMP fresh fry (five guys). I am so hooked on these dogs. I tried to quit, I went about 6 months cold turkey and have now been back 5-6 times in the last month. I give up. I just need them.

It Aint Health Food, Folks! I'll be waiting for someone to post a review saying that the food here is greasy, so I can say, "Duuuh." :o) The dogs are not super-big, so you'll want to order two, if you've a good appetite. The chili is spicy as billed, in the reviews below. The rings are from frozen, not fresh-battered, but were fried up perfectly, and well-drained, not the greasy mess you often get, nor the enamel-chippers that result from over-cooking breaded rings. I'm not going to mince words, folks; this is heart-attack on a bun territory, but it's oh-so-good, for a once-in-a-while lunch stop. Brandi's also gets an especial kudos from me on their sweet tea. The large is served in a Styrofoam cup that ought to have a bail handle attached, it's fresh-brewed, not instant, and it's not the simple-syrup with some tea added for color that passes for iced tea at a lot of places around the South. Nor is it a bitter brew that sends you reaching for a fistful of sugar packets, knowing well & good that you're never going to get the stuff to dissolve now that it's iced. This is just good, perfectly-sweetened iced tea. They don't assume you want lemon when they pour it, either, so if you're one of those who can't drink tea without it, you'll want to speak up...just so's ya know. The digs aren't luxurious, so don't mistake it as a date spot. :o) This has got a long L-shaped lunch counter that surrounds the kitchen area, and about nine small tables in the front part of the dining area. You definitely come here for the food, not the ambiance. Service was adequate, although I did show up right after noon, when the place was positively slammed (line literally trailing out the door; yeah, it's a popular spot), so I'm not going to ding them on service. The three ladies running the whole show looked like they had their hands more-than-full when I was in there. Some Random Survival Tips: * Brandi's isn't hard to find, but it's easy to miss. On the Church St. Ext, when you come to the railroad tracks, it's *right there.* * The lot is small, and it only goes in one direction; be sure not to make the mistake of pulling in on the left entrance, because it's not an entrance. ;) You'll end up backing out into the road. * Hit the ATM on your way there. You're not going to impress anyone with your Amex Black card in this establishment, only sheepishly hit your coworker up for ten bucks; it's cash-only. * Right at Noon, this place is absolutely *slammed.* Parking will be a battle, seating non-existent. However, things move pretty quick and, by about 12:30, it already starts to empty out. If you have a day where you can push your lunch hour out about a half hour, you'll find better service - because they can - and you'll not have to retreat to the parking lot with your meal, for lack of a table.

The serious winners here are the price, the service, the tea (just sweet enough), and the chili. This is a real nice family owned hole-in-the-wall. The red hots were nice, but I wouldn't make a trip out here special for them. The service was fast and I got out cheap. I'll likely be back when I'm in the area.

Delicious hot dog in a hot, steamed bun. Spicy chili and slaw falling off the edges. Flash-assembled expertly and artfully before your eyes. Fries and o-rings. Super-polite ladies. Cheap. Cokes in the mini bottles. Paper towels on the roll. Grab a stool, you're in for a treat. Why do you think people line up out the door? There ain't many places like this left.

I admit when i drove up i was nervous, The decor and ambiance was not what i expected. Being from the Midwest(chicago) I expected a chili dog to look completely different however i ordered one with slaw and a normal chili dog.I do Not like slaw but what the hey I wanted to have the total experience.. The chili was spicy and good.It was different than the chili I'm used to,no red tomato sauce. The chili dog with slaw was really good it balanced out the spicy chili which i loved!! Pleasantly surprised!!

Very casual atmosphere with a nostalgic "small town" feel. The service is fast & friendly, and the fare is wonderful. A regular "dog" which comes with chili, mustard, and onions is rather spicy, but the flavor is incredible.

My favorite dog joint in Atlanta! And most fortunately it's even the closest one to my house. Don't bother stopping by if you're not a carnivore. A simple space with a simple menu but superior food and spectacular service. Belly up to the bar and put down your own place mat (pull a paper towel from the roll) and while you're at it grab an extra napkin or two because you're going to need them. The best and spiciest chili dog around, top it off with slaw to cool it down a little and wash it down with a large sweet tea featuring the best shaved ice in town. The standard chili dog has mustard, onions and chili pre-loaded but they're really good about asking how you take it when you order. They also have a few tables in the front of the house but you have to be okay with folks standing around waiting for seats or to-go orders, especially in the winter! Brandi also has burgers, chips, fries, onion rings and even fried pies for dessert. If parking is sparse, park discreetly at the medical building next door. Oh yeah, bring cash. Two chili slaw dogs and a large tea runs me $5.65. When I splurge, I rarely spend more than $8. So bring a $10 and tip those ladies well!

Walk in. Go to the "dorm fridge" get a drink. Go to the counter and Tear off a paper towel and lay it on the counter. Now prepare for an experience that is with you for a while!! The hot sauce they cook these dogs in is well just that hot. And boy is it good. Add slaw and it gives the dogs that nice coolness that blends well with that spicy Chili. If your not into spicy ask for it drained, but you are missing out if you do. This place is an institution that has made Elizabeth Town a must stop on your visit to get your blood work at nearby Kennestone. Make sure you do the test before the dogs... The girls are always moving and you will have to wait sometimes but I promise you it is well worth the visit... Once every other month turns into, once a month, turns into once a week. Sorry U lovers of North AVE. , but this one is better. If your not in Marietta, Its well worth the drive.. Today they had their A game on and I was in and out in 10 minutes,,,,,, Burp! Oh in some countries that is a compliment!

First off let's get one thing clear. There is only ONE good Hot Dog on Church Street Extension and it is Brandi's. Not only is the Dog good you are sure to catch up on some of Mayrhetta's finest happenings. A sloppy Hot Dog, a paper towel, and an Ice Cold Coke. What else would one want??

I love this place. we go every friday for lunch. they fix an amazing hotdog that comes standard with spicy chili, mustard, and onions. i get mine with chili, slaw, and cheese. the slaw is sweet and a good balance for the chili. much better than the varsity and if you have ever had monroes in americus, its about even. get there around 1pm for a shorter wait and bring cash

Two slaw dogs and an order of onion rings please! The slaw dogs come with chili.. all the dogs come with chili.. unless requested otherwise, and it is some greasy, hot, spicy, delicious, must try once food. I usually get mine to go because it is so busy there, by the time you get that bag of wholesome goodness back to the office the paper bag it is being transported in will be completely translucent... try not to think to much about your cholesterol as you enjoy this little slice of down home southern hospitality. You can even belly up to the bar and strike a conversation with some of the colorful locals that inhabit the place if you have time.

Three words: FIND THIS PLACE. Lunch counter feel, GREAT dogs (not Boar's Head, Hebrew National, or any foo-foo stuff here, these are more like the ball park style we grew up on!). Super fast, and totally cheap (two dogs & a coke sets you back about five bucks), friendly girls behind the counter. *** My order every time: 1 chili w/slaw, 1 mustard w/onion & a diet coke. Top shelf!

Decent hotdogs topped with chili that will make you break out in a sweat. Yet another spot where you can look at the food and raise your cholesterol before you even start eating. This is a tiny little lunch only place. You'll most likely end up sitting at the counter, elbow to elbow with someone else. Its near the hospital, and gets quite crowded during lunch - you often have to wait a few for a table. Oh yeah, grab a giant sweet tea cause you'll drink it to cool down the lovely hot food.
