Decided to try the Fish N' Pig based on the Yelp reviews, and I have to say it was awesome. It was Saturday night and we arrived around 6 pm while the band was setting up outside on the deck stage. We put our name on the waiting list and was told it would be about 30 minutes (which was accurate to about the minute). While we were waiting for our pager to go off, we bought a couple of Cokes and beer at the outside bar and enjoyed the pre-show music as well as the band until our table was ready. The food was exactly as we expected, tasty and a decent portion. Now keep in mind, they were extremely busy, and it took a bit of time for our dinners to arrive, but it was well worth the wait. We decided to go with the Po Boy sandwiches, and we're not disappointed. Go for the food, go for the atmosphere, go for the fun of eating great food on the lake. Definitely a local's hang out - which is part of the reason we chose it. Plus it's kid friendly, and reasonably priced.

Aug 29th I took JoBeth to the Fish n Pig for her 32nd Birthday since she has never been here before. JB ordered the fish fillet dinner and she loved it along with the fried ocra. I ordered my usual Blacken Alligator tail. The live band did great even singing happy birthday to JB by the end of the night. We met up with some good friend that lived on the other side of the lake and we stayed longer ordering more drinks and talking until they closed 12am. I'm sure JB can't wait to come again she had a great first time going.

Didn't know what to expect just picking a place called Fish & Pig. Wow! What a surprise. Had their Fish & Pig combo (grilled shrimp and ribs) and they were excellent. Shrimp plump and juicy and the ribs fell off the bone. They don't serve the ribs with any BBQ sauce (they bring it to the table) and honestly, they don't need it. Don't be fooled by the name. This place is awesome! And it has a very nice patio overlooking the lake!

We ate here on a Sunday night and the place was quite busy even though they don't open up the main dining room. Very casual outdoor seating. The food is good. I had the catfish filets blackened which was actually served as one filet and not 4 as we were told. I though it was a rather small filet if it was supposed to have been four, but I had no complaints about the taste. Salad was Ok too, though I thought the blue cheese dressing lacked a little punch; a little too much mayo perhaps. But all in all it was a good meal in a lively busy atmosphere. This place is off the beaten path so not many tourists here. Only local folks who enjoy good times with old friends and family.

Our recent experience at Fish'N'Pig was good and bad. We sat on the patio to hear the band that was out there- it is on the lake, and it was a nice evening. I ordered the fried shrimp, which was very good. My husband ordered pulled pork without a bun, since he is gluten-free; with Brunswick Stew. He received a small side order cup of pulled pork and a small cup of the stew. The pork was bland, and the stew was so watery that at first he thought it was vinegar barbecue sauce. I give the Fish'N'Pig an overall 3 star rating - 4 for the setting, 4 for the shrimp but 1 for the pork.

Had a rehearsal dinner here for a large group of family (70+) and friends. Food was served buffet style: pulled pork, baked beans, cole slaw, catfish filets, banana pudding--all of their best dishes and all were really tasty. Also had tubs of iced beer and wine and it was a fun night overlooking Lake Tobosofkee and beautiful at sunset. It was a family night full of love and the atmosphere on the indoor dining room added to the ambiance. Can't wait to go back here and try from the menu!

Wonderful food and service. I went to dinner here on a Tuesday around 5 p.m., so it wasn't very crowded when I went. The service was phenomenal. We had a very attentive server and didn't have to wait long for the food. The lakeside view and beautiful weather were also a plus. I ordered the fried pickles for an appetizer, and for my entree I ordered the blackened alligator with sides of brunswick stew and baked potato. Everything was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend it. Will definitely go here again in the future.

I love Fish n' Pig! The staff is wonderful - the most attentive, friendly folks I've ever encountered at a restaurant. They really make you feel like a valued guest! Food is fantastic as well. My favorite things are the shrimp, scallops, calamari and squash casserole but everything I've tried there has been delicious. Great setting too. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting a unique setting (on the lake) and great dinner experience.

This place is not what it is talked up to be. I ordered blackened shrimp and they were awful. They tasted old. They were not even warm. The shrimp made me sick after I left. The catfish on the other hand was good. Service was good also.

Always a nice crowd of people hanging out and listening to live music on the weekends. Try to come early as the parking lot fills up quickly. Food service is fairly quick once you are seated. The food has been good every time I've eaten here :)

Holy SHIT! The Best Low Country Boil that I have ever had! Killing Joe's Crab Shack! It's only $14.99 too! The "Skrimp" (Shrimp) are large & juicy, the sausage is AMAZING and the corn & slaw were on point too! Not to mention the scenery! The Ducks & Geese are EVERYWHERE, ESPECIALLY when you feed them the $0.25 dog food! They literally fight each other! I love this place! I am driving back home specifically for this place!

As always, we had another fantastic meal. I tried to fish tacos tonight and they were great. I would recommend them.

This place was very, very packed when we went. It was about an hour wait. It was all fried food nastiness. We ordered the gator bites and they came out drenched and I mean drenched in grease! Gross. The salad was good and I ordered the grilled shrimp which were also good. All the sides were mediocre at best but the only one that was worth it was the sweet potato casserole (definitely not low fat either!) So if I ever go back, which I doubt I will, I'd order a salad topped with grilled shrimp and maybe the sweet potato casserole again...everything was aghhh....wayyy too greasy! Hope this helps.

This place was ok. Initially weirded out by pig and fish picture. I was apart of a large party; about 30 people. Service was fairly quick for such a large group. I ordered the blackened shrimp salad which was pretty good. My cohorts ordered ribs and they were out! HOW ON EARTH CAN A BBQ SPOT RUN OUT OF RIBS?! Seriously? I'm here on business however if I ever returned I would never purposely visit here again.

Its a dive in Macon, GA but it wasn't horribly undelicious.

Almost identical menu but cheaper as Jim Shaws in Macon, but much larger. Right on Lake Tobesofkee, lots of patio space to lounge around. And I found the food to be not as oily as Jim Shaws. The tuna salad was very good as were my scallops. Get there early on weekends as there were a lot of people there.

The good: Beautiful setting on Lake Tobesofkee. Boats pull right up to the docks of this place and come on in. Huge decks with views to die for of the lake, and you'll wait on a weekend night to get in the place but it's worth it. Live music most Saturday nights starting at 7pm. My fav appetizer is the blackened crayfish (fear not-it's just the meat) and/or a dozen steamed oysters. I consider their oysters the best you can find in Georgia! My fav entree isn't necessarily on the menu: Grilled shrimp but I ask for them with the blacken seasoning (but don't order the blackened shrimp), after they are served I squeeze a whole small bowl of lemon pieces on top of them and then empty one little cup of drawn butter on top of them and add a little salt and it's absolutely to die for!!! Cheese grits are delicious and cheesy. Fried shrimp, fries, fried alligator, fried catfish, blackened tilapia are good here too. Sweet tea is also good here. Note: Skip the deserts and the most of the bbq menu. IF you have to have BBQ then the smoked wings are awesome and the half smoked chicken is really good too but not the pork! I really do not like their bbq sauce, if they added a sweet bbq sauce it would be so much better! It took me awhile to figure out what was good to get here, so use my suggestions to avoid a bad experience! The ugly: Smoking section near check-in counter and while waiting to be seated you have to smell the people at the bar smoking. Saturday band night get busy, get here by 4:30pm or you could be waiting over an hour to be seated!

Great seafood and great waitstaff (we know the ones to get [Hey L and S!] Appetizers are always good. Crab is usually good... sometimes, the meat sticks to the shell a little more than I would like. Shrimp is great, Low Country Boil is great. Some windows give an awesome Lakeview. Wait can be a long time.... sometimes you don't get seated until it is closed. Weird, but we treat them right as they do us.

I love Fish N' Pig. The menu is just that... BBQ and Seafood. The portions are huge, so while you may get some sticker shock looking the menu, most entrees seem like enough for 2 to share. It is operated by the owners of Jim Shaw's, so you'll see a lot of crossover on the menu, but I think the atmosphere here is much better. As far as dining atmosphere goes, they have a little bit of everything: traditional dining room, bar, screened in porch, outdoor patio with tiki bar and you can even go down to the docks. Fish N' Pig is definitely one of Macon's finest.

Wow - this place sucked!!! We ordered BBQ and regretted it. The potato salad was worse than a grocery store's deli - it was watery and overly sweet. Pork was swimming in a sauce that had no resemblance to Bbq sauce, and the turkey was dry and of questionable quality. And the setting and service? While the lake viwe was nice enough, the place reaked of cigarette smoke, the waitress was condescending, and the prices were too high. But the beer was cold. So, if you must, order a beer, look at the lake, and get dinner elsewhere.

While in Macon we spent some time out at Lake Tobesofkee and ended up driving by the Fish n' Pig a few times, but it wasn't until a few locals told us that it was the best place to eat in Macon that we made it a destination one night. We walked in and first thing was there was no one at the front desk so we kind of stood there meandering with 2 other couples trying to figure out what to do next. After a few minutes someone came over and said someone else would be right with us. Another 5 minutes and someone finally sat us. When the waiter came over and asked what we were drinking I asked him what kind of beers he had. And he proceeded to do one of pet peeves which is say, "Oh we have everything, Bud Light, Miller Light, Coors Lt....." When I ask him if he has a couple other beers he says no to each one. Therefore he does not have everything, instead he has a list of crappy light beers that all taste the same. I know it's not a pub or beer bar, but come on let's mix it up a little. Then I ask if he has bourbon. He says "Oh Yeah, we have everything." Can I get a shot of Buffalo Trace? Oh you don't have that. Make it Makers then. We had gator tail and it was just dry and hard. The catfish wasn't bad, but NOTHING was great or even above what I could do at home. You can tell that they're busy and they just put the food out, while servers work with blinders on. I don't know why this place is the best restaurant in Macon but I can tell you that when I asked the kid working at the campground where a good restaurant to eat at he told me there's Burger King, KFC, or if you want seafood you can check out Captain D's. Really 3 fast food places. I have to say that my week in Macon is one of the best times I've had, and I've made some GREAT new friends! However, with all due respect, I don't think Macon is at risk of becoming a foodie city any time soon.
