We ordered the Mediterranean pizza and the Red, White & Blueberry Salad salad. The pizza was good but it needed a sauce - it was dry without it. The salad was good and simple. Newks gets bonus points for sautéed garlic at that condiment bar. Their new peach tea is awesome and I hope they keep it sugar free. The big bonus is that have a faucet to wash your hands in the hallway between the two bathrooms. There is no reason to enter the bathroom if you only want to wash your hands. So simple but so appreciated. The service was very pleasant and the restaurant was clean and roomy. Well deserving of a 4.5

I was not expecting very much but I experienced exceptional customer service! I ordered quickly and was told to sit down and they would bring me my food. My food arrived within 5minutes (a salad and soup) the sherry vinaigrette was so yummy! But I did notice that they had brought me the wrong soup. I decided I would eat it anyway. Without me saying anything to get the young lady that took my order noticed that they had brought me the wrong soup and assured me that it would be corrected! She brought me the new bowl of soup and then brought me a complimentary slice of chocolate cake for my trouble. This is what costumer service should be like everywhere!

I really like this place when I'm in the area. I've had the macaroni and cheese, which comes in a skillet (I think) and is oh-so-good. I had the veggie sandwich with portobello, which was also good. I had a simply salad with salmon, which was also good and in a huge bowl. They bring food out pretty fast and have a good menu. I'll come back and try more things.

Been here a few times and have had mixed results. Overall they have a unique menu with some really good sandwiches and soups that beat out Panera. Quality of the food is pretty good and they have lots of different bread options. My personal favorite is the shrimp poboy which I normally do with a soup combo. The one thing I have a problem with is the consistency. Sometimes the soup or sandwich tastes different and or they forget to include something that is supposed to be on it. That has not kept me from coming back though, good spot for lunch or dinner!

I have been 2 times now and I am in love with this place. The sandwitches are fresh made to order and oh so good. The pasta salad is great, and I love being able to add the finishing touches with there condiment bar. I am looking forward to trying more and more of there menu, I have also heard their cakes are good to. The service has been great as well as friendly.

The atmosphere was nice and the staff was okay. The food was not what I expected. I ordered a half sandwich and salad. My turkey sandwich had the smallest piece of meat I had ever since. The sandwich was mostly bread. The salad was okay but I will not be returning again.

Visited sometime last week. Took a couple of minutes for someone to say hello. Went in with a friend to check the place out. We weren't really hungry so we decided to get some thing to drink. I asked if they had hot tea and coffee and the cashier said yes. We paid for the drinks and then were told 10 mins after that they had neither. One of the head key holders came out and swapped it for 2 regular drink and 2 brownies. The brownies weren't really that good. And even though we wanted hot drinks we got cold ones. Even though something was still done about our Problem, we still sat down to try and join our time. The setting was pleasing and the food looked good, even though I didn't try anything except the brownie. I will say though that I would give this place another chance and if I enjoy it. I'd b happy to update my review.

Today was my first day having Newk's. They provided lunch for one of my client's meeting today. Of coarse clients always over order, which means I get to enjoy left overs and I must say the sandwiches were very fresh with tons of meat. The fruit salad was very tasty and fresh also. Newk's is great for catering as well as to dine-in for lunch. The food was delivered on time as schdule and they even did the set-up. My favorite was the turkey croissant sandwich. Oh my, the croissant bread was so soft. The staff also enjoyed the sandwiches. I think I we will be recommending them more to our other clients for their lunch meetings.

My wife is a fanatic about soup. We have eaten here many times and enjoy it. The sandwiches are great. The soup matches. The pizza both times we got it was almost burnt around the edges but the dough was so thick it was almost RAW in the middle. Our son (7 years old) does not like to eat here so it is a place we go when he is visiting the grandparents. I have even taken a few people here for business lunches. Everything we have had here minus the pizza very high standard.

It's a great place for lunch! I had the pesto chicken sandwich and it was pretty yummy. Affordable and didn't have to wait long for my food. Very good service

My family go to Newks on a weekly, sometimes twice weekly basis. We are always impressed with the food and the quality of service. The employees almost always greet us and are always friendly. Food arrives in a very prompt manner and is always delivered with a smile. The atmosphere is also very cool and chill. The menu is so varied, so you'll always have an option. Plus, the cups are great to take home with you (combined, as a family, we probably have 15-20 of them). All in all, it's a great establishment run by competent people who produce quality food!!

Horrible!!!! Manager was so rude to us. The cashier forgot to ring up our drinks and he demanded us to pay for them. We didn't even know she didn't charge us. He said she's young and didn't realize she forgot to charge us. He came off as arrogant and unpleasant!! We will not return and def won't recommend this place. It's a shame because the food is actually good.

I ordered the combo chicken salad sandwich and mac-n-cheese and it was ok. I didn't finish my meal and was disappointed.

Awesome quality food. Love this chain. Very big portions for the price that you pay. The lobster crab bisque is an absolute must have. Along with the loaded baked potato soup. Really nothing in the place is bad. Very clean and well staffed.

Stopped at Newk's while on a road trip through the South. My friend had told me about it and how good it was, so was excited to see it on my way through town. Followed the suggestion of my friend and got the chicken salad sandwich. It was amazing. If I had thought of it at the time, I would have ordered a second sandwich for the road. VERY tasty. The sandwiches are a good size, and a great value for the money. My friend got the BBQ chicken pizza and it was AWESOME. Luckily he didn't eat all of it, so we saved some for the car. I was very, very pleased with my first trip to Newk's, and left wishing we had one in my town - a great sandwich for a reasonable price. The food was delicious, and the location was fantastic too. Everyone was very friendly, and they went out of their way to make sure we had a great experience.

I was excited to see this place last week but did not get a chance to go until today. It is just what this area needs! It's a "cafe" but kind of reminds me of a Jason's Deli but without the salad bar because of the good food and great ingredients. You order from the menu at the counter. You are given a number to place at your table. You fill your own drinks. They bring your food to your table. They come by and check on you at your table. I tried the Grilled Steak toasted sandwich and a half Simply Salad. All were delicious! They have a "Round table" behind the registers near the drink fountains that has a variety of condiments, crackers, and other items for your food or pleasure. You can help yourself to this table to doctor up your food or to just snack on. I really like this place, the food, and the staff. I will be back! The restaurant was very clean, staff was nice and very helpful. I hope that the superb customer service is not just because they recently opened.

This was the first time to a Newks for me. I was very impressed with the menu selection, friendly staff, and overall cleanliness. They have sandwiches, soups, and salads. I had the Newks Q which is a grilled chicken with white BBQ sauce. Mmmm tasty. My son had the kids pizza and it was a lot of pizza. He took it home for lunch the next day. Overall good food and good portions. I can't wait to go back.

We've been to Newks 4 or 5 times......a good menu.. ..consistently good food.....service is OK. Its a nice airy space on any week night.....rarely crowded.....,good menu for kids also. Mainly you're looking at pizza and sandwiches done well..,....need to try the salad next.

The cashier was so friendly and nice I give her a ten she was so patient. The ambience was nice calm and super clean. The server was friendly and helpful. The staff is just great. Well when it comes down to the food... The 4 cheese Mac and cheese was just the bomb dot com deliciousness! The sandwiches were good, salad was tasty but the pizza didn't leave a big impression on us... We got the pepperoni and sausage pizza too salty. I love how you can keep the cups! My experience here I'd give it an 10 but the food a 7.5 my mom a 9 and dad a 7.

Newk's - had been to one in Murfreesboro, TN and now glad to see in this area. The food is great! I had the Grilled Chicken sandwich, grandkids had a pizza each and others had various meals. Everything is fresh and tasty. Coleslaw is creamy and good. A place for the whole family!

Fantastic place to nosh in Lawrenceville. Clean, hip, bright, airy fresh restaurant space. Menu has sandwiches, salads, 10" pizza, and soups. This was needed in the ville. You can get your own drinks and refills. I really like this location. Many professionals and Hospital employees eat here for lunch and It can get crowded at lunch so beware. If you are a first time visitor, it will take a few minutes for you to take in the menu. The menu is on the big board just as you enter. You place your order and pay up front. They give you a number and they bring the food out. The salads are large. I can put it away, but I could not finish my everything salad the other day and my wife had to finish it. She had the 5-cheese pizza. I tasted a bite of it and it was very good. Everything was fresh and prepared correctly. I will continue to be a regular here.

Delicious, huge salads and very good sandwiches. Cleaning the dining room is not a priority here. The last couple of times I've been here there was some trash under the tables, crumbs and drink stains on the tables, and just generally dirty booths. If the place was cleaner, I'd eat here more often.

really good lunch spot. order at the counter, get a number to put at your table. I had the 1/2 n 1/2 club sandwich and potato soup. The sandwich was good, the potato soup was AMAZING! My husband had a 1/2 n 1/2 with a simple salad and the chicken sandwich. I liked his sandwich more than mine. The total was about $20. Food came out really fast, and they have splenda sweet tea. I have to admit, I have passed the place for years, but never went in b/c the name made me think of a microwaved tv dinner (nuke) or a lizard (newt). But I'm glad I gave it a try. I still think it a bad name, but the food is good, fast, big portions, and reasonably priced.

We ate lunch here and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. Wasn't sure what to expect - but the salads are great - I also had soup and it was AMAZING! The GM came over and talked with us and was super friendly! I have an upcoming event and will actually use them for catering!

I must have gone in on an off day. I ordered a vegetarian sandwich and it had a couple small pieces of meat mixed in. Was someone messing with me, or what? I didn't complain, I just won't go back in. Also, the guy at the register was super rude to me, just snippy. I'm sure it was because it was lunch time and they were busy, but I have worked in the industry before and there's no need to be rude! His name was Steve (I think) and he seemed to be a manager or something. Definitely will not go back, I really don't appreciate the rudeness or the meat on my veggie sandwich! Plus, it's a little overpriced for a sandwich shop.

I went for my second visit to Newks today. As the first time my salad was really good. My friend had a pizza, and while the ingredients were fresh and tasted great, the crust was not crispy. I will say that I took the leftovers home and reheated today. When the crust was cooked well, the pizza was really good. The manager did visit our table and inquired about our meal. I was surprised that she did not offer to cook the pizza more when we mentioned the concern. Otherwise, we like Newks! A nice addition to the limited Lawrenceville dining experience.

Very good seafood bisque. Sandwich bread tastes fresh. Unfortunately, they no longer sell beer.

  • Jimmy C.

They have good salads and I do like the fact that they offer diet dr pepper as well as coke zero and diet coke. The atmosphere seems to be missing something though. I just can't quite place my finger on it. This may seem a little picky but I don't particularly care for the uniforms the staff wear. Kind of blah. They have great plastic cups for drinks which makes good for to go situations but seems pretty bad for the environment.

Newk's is a great new restaurant in Lawrenceville. Quick, affordable but delicious food. Great new option for Lawrenceville.

The best homemade strawberry cake I have ever tasted! It is real cake and real icing, not that fake butter cream stuff. The owners purchase the cake from a lady who makes them from scratch. Yum!

On the plus side, the staff and servers were very friendly and helpful. The service was great, and out food came out quickly. The size of the salad was more than ample. With three members in our party, we got a Newk's Favorite Salad, a Deluxe Pizza, and a Grilled Steak sandwich. If you LOVE (and I mean *LOVE*) vinegar, you would probably like the salad. I DON'T love vinegar, and this salad was swimming in the very vinegary dressing. I could not enjoy the salad for the overwhelming quantity and tartness of the dressing. Given the salad had chicken on it, I was also very displeased with the very scant amount of meat with the salad.. Very thinly sliced, which was nice, but only about three or four very thin slices probably not totaling an ounce of meat. Sadly, I didn't enjoy the salad at all. The man that had the Deluxe pizza didn't like the thin crust--too thin, and he remarked, "especially when it is soggy in the middle and you can't even pick it up." The other man with the sandwich said it was very dry.. dry bread, dry meat. Although the condiment bar was nice, it should also have mustard, mayo, etc. on it so that people can moisten their sandwiches with sauce if needed. There was vinegar on the bar, but that wasn't what he was looking for. We could have had our lunches re-done more to our liking, but didn't have the luxury of time--hence we went for the "express". Given that the food is the main point in eating out, and that none of the three of us enjoyed our food, we don't plan on returning. If only one person had a distasteful experience, we might have given it another shot, but three strikes.. Newk's is out. (Sorry Newk's.. Nice people, but don't care for the food! ;-)

Remember that episode of Seinfeld when they mention the "big salad"? Well this place has it and in a bowl tilted to face you. It is huge and delicious. I can't remember which one I had but it had artichokes and grapes in it. It was close to $10.00 but a good value since it was enough for two meals. My husband had a club sandwich. He loved it too. It is very spacious inside and the service was quick and friendly. It is not super-cheap though. My large salad, my husband's club sandwich, and my son's kid's meal was around $28.00. It is a nice choice to have here in L'ville.

Always looking for a place with a nice big salad and Newk's certainly has that. Glad I came in... will certainly be back

  • Kelly G.

There is nothing "express" about it. I waited 27 minutes to receive my TO GO salad. Once they realized they forgot about me, it took them all of 3 minutes to create my salad. I don't know if they need to beef up their process for communicating to the kitchen but I was extremely disappointed when I didn't even get an apology. They just handed me the salad and said "Here you go". Here you go? After almost 30 minutes of waiting for a salad???!!! The food is good, but the customer service leaves MUCH to be desired.

Love the Veggie Club here. One of the best and the black-eyed pea salad is the best.

Just tried Newk's! Been wanting to try this place since I've heard good things. Everything here is awesome! This place is spacious and with the price of the food, it's awesome. I tried the triple play, turkey sandwich, and vegetable pizza. Highly recommend the vegetable pizza! It was probably close to $10. Triple play comes with chicken salad, pasta salad, and fruit. It was all good, but not actually what I was in the mood for haha. Super healthy though! Apparently under 600 calories ;) and the turkey sandwich was amazing and didn't tasted way more than 600 calories but awesome more than 600 calories. Definitely a great place to quickly get good food.

Went here twice b/c I really didn't want to right a bad review. I wanted to give them a second chance to redeem themselves. I even changed the company I went with, thinking that could have been the reason I didn't like it the first time. Yeah, that didn't work out either. I ordered different things too, thinking that would change things. The sandwich was disappointing. So was the sweet tea. The caramel cake we ordered didn't help either. The frosting tasted like they took candied caramels and melted it together and put it on dry tasting cake batter. Just go to Panera. You'll be spending the same amount but getting better stuff for it.

Solid lunch spot with a nice menu. And for $2 beers it has a nice twist. I wouldn't really consider it a date spot but the salads and sandwiches are excellent, quick and original. Haven't tried the soups but the sign says they're homemade.

Wife and I went to this spot on Friday for the first time. I had the newks q with the mac n cheese, wife had chicken salad sandwich with the broccoli cheese soup, my meal was very good but when I tried the chicken salad it was nowhere near what a chicken salad should be. Besides that, the service was great and the food is good. Just stay away from the chicken salad

My top sub joint nationwide... At least for now. This sub shop is outstanding. The bread is fresh, ingredients are great and the sides are soooo good. Try this place out and I'm sure you will agree.

Not the best food. If you are hungry enough you will eat it. Consider going further down to Moe's or even subway. Just was not impressed with the food or prices.

This place is awesome. I highly recommend the Newk's Q. One of the best sandwiches I have ever had, any of their soups, especially the crawfish soup, it's delicious, as well as their spicy shrimp pizza. The restaurant area is always VERY clean and you can watch the employees making the food which always makes me feel better. If you haven't been before I highly recommend it.

Ok, first let me say Newk's is one of my favorite restaurants! I have eaten at the first one in Oxford, MS many times, Jacksonville, FL, and many others and never been disappointed. Food is always good. Newk's is known for its GENEROUS portions, however, if you expect generous portions at this franchise, you will be bitterly disappointed. Unlike the other restaurants, when you order soup and salad you will leave hungry. The salad had about 7 pieces of lettuce and the bowl wasn't a BIG bowl but a small bowl. Why is this franchise so stingy? Also the workers were just standing around talking and on their cell phones.

Try the pimento cheese sandwich - you won't be sorry! Good food, great lunch spot, fast service. Good options for healthy eaters too (good soups and salads)

Yesterday was such a gorgeous day that I opted for dinner to be a picnic by a dog park with my spastic pooch. Stopped in at Newk's on the way (for the first time) and bought a chicken salad sandwich with chips and a water to go. They were pretty dead, the service was great, the wait acceptable. But, they were pretty skimpy on the veggies, and even forgot the onions -horror of horrors! Yet, I was pleased enough with the bread flavor and texture and the chicken salad, which had lots of very tender chunks of chicken, that I'll totally go back and just be more specific about my veggie preferences.

I went here today for lunch. I got the Cobb salad and my daughter got a half steak sandwich with a half Mac and cheese. My salad was missing tomatoes, bacon and had very little cheese or egg. My daughters sandwich had very little horseradish sauce and the meat tasted plastic or chemically.the Mac and cheese was good. I asked to speak with the manager who offered to give us dessert. We were there at 11:30 before the lunch rush hour. I told her she could speak to the kitchen staff. I wasn't looking for a free lunch but after spending $20 we walked out hungry because we didn't finish our lunch. We won't go back.

Such good quality food!! And the Mac n cheese!! Oh so good! The cheese just stretches as you pick up each bite. So fresh. (And I don't even like Mac n cheese!) The sandwiches are so tasty, no matter what you get.

Quality food and variety. Took a little longer today but the service has always been good. We need one of these in augusta Georgia. Love the lobster bisque. And the crunchy homemade banquettes.

Haven't been yet, but going tomorrow and I'm pretty stoked. I just want to say that if you give a place a bad review just because you don't like the server uniforms, you need to just go ahead and get a life. Also, stop trying to write like a food critic because you're not. The Food Channel is not going to come calling because you gave a snarky review to a local joint trying to compete against the big boys (Panera...I'm looking at you.). Lighten up folks...it's just food.

I remember when this place moved in and I kept thinking, "Newk's? What's Newk's" I never could tell what it was from the outside, it was just "Newk's". I tried it for the first time tonight. I didn't have any idea what to expect but I was hungry and figured I'd give them a shot. I had the grilled chicken sandwich with cole slaw. Both items were really good. I'll definitely be hitting this place more often. So you know what to expect, they have 10" pizzas, salads, and sandwiches. They also have desserts and it appears more like, "Look at these awesome desserts we have in our case," more than other places which are like, "I think we have something in the back." So it's probably worth checking those out. It's casual inside and they serve beer.

I am definitely a fan of this place! We ordered a catering event here for my company's business lunch and it was delicious and fresh as ordering at the restaurant. I have eaten in the restaurant, ordered to go, and both have been a great experience. I definitely recommend the Newk's Chicken and BBQ Sandwich, with their white cream BBQ Sauce. It is very good. The fresh bread is crispy on the outside and hot and soft in the inside. The magical sandwich is amazing and is the best on the menu! All the other items on menu are good and fresh as well, but the BBQ Chicken sandwich is the best! Service if phenomenal - especially for a busy lunch time restaurant. Everyone is nice, friendly, and the service is quick and effortless. They are definitely doing something right!

Normally this time of year my husband and I would have been vacationing near PCB, Florida. While in PCB, Florida, we ventured upon Newk's and there on the menu, we were surprised to see there is a Newk's also in Lawrenceville, GA near home...Small world!!! Well today my daughter and I finally had the chance to come here to eat (husband is out of state up north at the moment). We had Shrimp Po' Boy and 5 Cheese Pizza to share and I ordered a strawberry cake and she had the chocolate. Both are very good desserts but rich and delicious. Will visit here again soon when husband returns!!! Great customer service too!!!! And LARGE sweet tea!!!

Ok, so this was our(hubby & me)visit. I ordered the half shrimp po boy and ceasar salad. Hubby ordered the white chicken/bean chilli and bbq/bacon sandwich. His soup was sooooo good, I went back later and bought my own. I dont eat pork but he said the sandwich was great. My salad was good and fresh, the dressing was great! Now onto the problem....the shrimp po boy was awful. Considering they are right next to Mellow Mushroom who has an out if this world full of flavor shrimp po boy, they should be ashamed of themselves foreven having it on the menu. The shrimp are bland with no flavor at all served on a toasted bun with lettuce tomato pickles(????) and red onions. I told them this and they replaced the sandwich with the chicken salad sandwich and it was a much better choice. Have to say really really good chicken salad. Now onto cleanliness. The restaurant overall was clean, however when we got there, there were 4 tables that had food on them half eaten, kinda messy, those tables where still dirty when we left 40 min later. We ate with the view of messy tables on both sides of us. Overall decent food, they need to stay on top of the tables better. Awesome that they exchanged my sandwich for a better one and for that I would go back. Thats a sign that they care about their customer.

Wow, where to even begin with this newks. Im a huge fan of newks. Went to ole miss and we had newks before it ever made it to Georgia. The employees in this newks were not working. We walked in the door and were the only people standing there and it was several minutes before we were helped over other employees. Also, the employees were shouting across the restaurant while we were trying to eat. I couldn't figure out if they didn't notice our table as well as another occupied table in the restaurant or if they just had really horrible manners. The food was good although my sandwich was out together sloppy.

I had their Greek salad with chicken. Was very pleased by the order processing speed. Prices are fair. It is a nice bubble of oxygen in this area crowded with nasty fast-food chains and pub food. They seem to cater as well. Definitely a good option for a quick lunch... And healthy
