Diabetics at TGI Friday

If you're a diabetic, then you must be extra careful while dining at TGI Friday. Try the salad menu at TGI Friday to keep your sugar and sodium intake in check. Soups are great to keep you full and satisfied without munching on the unhealthy greased meat-based dishes on TGI Friday menu.

Foods to Avoid at TGI Friday for Diabetics:

Sugar and sodium intake are crucial if you have diabetes. While the salads are the best option for you at TGI Friday, it is recommended to avoid the Pecan-Crusted Chicken Salad containing over 1000 calories and 1,650mg sodium. Also, skip Warm Pretzels with Craft Beer-Cheese dipping sauce as it contains more than 3000mg sodium. Best Mexican food in Lawrenceville. Good service. Chips and salsa are just better than others. You can tell the boss (Abel) is there and he cares.

Good place to eat, food is good, staff is friendly, prices are reasonable. New dish chicken poblano Rajas very good, but ask them to substitute sweet plantains for the fried plantains.

How could we have missed this!!! Food was DELICIOUS!!! Not so much Tex Mex....more authentic!! And it's named after one of my favorite artists female Mexican artist Frida Kahlo! Service was on point, margaritas were delicious!!! Our server Randolfo was attentive and courteous!! We will definitely be back.

Love this place! Not only is it super close to my house, the food & staff are amazing! I usually get the shrimp and steak fajitas and a margarita. Shout out to the bartender, because his drinks never disappoint! Love their sweet plantains too (not something you see too often in a Mexican restaurant). Me and hubby found our new Mex spot :)

I have been craving "good Hispanic food" for about 3 weeks now; and FINALLY I am satisfied!!! The wait wasn't "too long" but you can buy drinks at the bar; so the wait.... Not so bad! When we were seated the server came quickly plus there was chips and salsa waiting for us at the table. The food was hot and fresh plus for how busy they were it came out rather fast. I really enjoyed my experience here and will be back when my graving for chimichangas return! My husband really enjoyed the very large beers the offer too!

  • Diana C.

The worst Mexican food I have ever eaten Taco Bell is better. We went here simply to try a new place. I should have stayed with our regular spot that we normally frequent on Friday night.

So freaking insanly delicious. Nothing compliments a good meal like good staff, they were absolutely warm and very personable. Definitely my number one go to Mexican restaurant.

This hidden gem in Lawrenceville is the best Mexican food in Gwinnett county hands down! Fresh tasty food, filling portions and good service is what you can expect to find here. And you can tell ownership cares, as you can find the owner making the rounds greeting the customers. For starters, they have some of the best chips and salsa I've ever had. In particular the darker, spicier salsa is my favorite. Its so good, if not careful I can get filled up on chips and salsa alone before getting my food. I work close by, so I've been here for lunch many times and for dinner a few times as well. I've rarely been disappointed by any dish I've had here. I love the chorizo con queso! The fajitas are good, the Mexican nachos (I had it with chorizo) are a pleasant surprise, and the pollo ranchero, tequila lime chicken and milanesa are a few of my favorite dishes there. And I do believe they have updated their menu, as on their specials section I see some things I have yet to see from other Mexican restaurants, giving me more reason to come back for dinner in the future. Everything is just flat out delicious!! I highly recommend this place if you live in the area, or heck if you live anywhere in the county within reasonable driving distance. Its worth the trip!! 5 stars!!

My sister and I took our parents here for Father's day. We called a couple hours ahead and they were extremely nice about taking a reservation for us. They also asked if we wanted to sit outside or inside (which most restaurants don't do), as well as if we wanted a table or a both. The customer service there is extremely top notch. We ordered a couple of different items on the menu, but the ones that we enjoyed the most were the lobster tacos and the fish tacos. Our server was extremely nice and constantly checked up on us even though they were quite busy that day. The manager/owner was also very polite and came by to check on everything with us. Over all we had an amazing experience there and we are actually looking for them to cater our next event.

  • Snellville S.

Great Mixed drinks, chips and appetizers.. However I ordered the bacon wrapped shrimp entre and I won't order it again. The shrimp were WAY overcooked to the point of tasting like leather. The bacon that was wrapped around them was too hard to eat it was so overdone. The sauce they were laying on top of was not good. If you want to order a shrimp entre, take a look at Pappadeaux's or Papa Sito's Brochette shrimp. Now that's a shrimp entre!

  • Tonya B.

Great atmosphere and food. Even though they are packed for lunch the service was quick and the outdoor seating is perfect on a pretty day.

The lobster tacos were delicious. They were presented with avocado and red onions which brought a nice combination of flavor to the table. Orchata water was on point with just the right amount of cinnamon.yummy overall. Highly recommend if you happen to be in the Lawrenceville-Grayson area.

Great Mexican restaurant! The staff were very friendly and seemed to know a lot of the regulars, which I enjoy seeing at a restaurant. My husband ordered the chicken tostones and is still raving about them. Great food!

  • Laura R.

Being Mexican myself, it is hard to find a good restaurant with an authentic taste in their food. Frida's is that one that has its authentic Mexican taste. Good service. Restaurant was pretty empty (I came around 4pm). Overall it's great! I will come by whenever I'm in the area again.

My wife and I have eaten at Freida's regularly since it opened until this past April. In the beginning, the food was better than average and always tasted fresh. In late April we ate a Freida's for lunch. We had begun to notice to downward turn in the quality of food for a few months. On this occasion, I ordered a steak burrito with refried beans and rice. The steak was overcooked and dry with little flavor. The sauce covering the burrito was virtually tasteless. The refried beans tasted like it came out of can of refried beans that you buy at the supermarket. The rice was flavorless. We will not return to Freida's again. There are better options for above average Mexican food in the Lawrenceville area.

This is my new favorite for Mexican food. I love the carnitas & chimichanga, my husband is a fan of the burrito del mar and enchilada mole. The owners & staff are friendly and attentive.

I never go to chains for Mexican, preferring to find "authentic" places. Frida's is right near me, and I decided to check it out based on the good reviews. I arrived to the sounds of live music playing on the patio. The restaurant is rather small on the inside. I went on a Saturday night, but despite my fears of a long wait, I was seated immediately. The hostess and wait staff were prompt, attentive, and very friendly. I ordered a ground beef quessadilla, sweet plantains, and some queso blanco to go with the gratis chips. The chips were fresh, and the salsa was good, but the queso was way overpriced. I paid $4.29 for a tiny little bowl that was gone immediately. I could buy a whole jar of queso from Kroger for less than that. My quessadilla arrived soon after, and that's where the experience went further downhill. The "ground beef" was actually brisket meat; stringy and soggy. It was floating in grease, and swimming in melted gloops of cheese. It immediately fell apart the second I picked it up, dumping half of it onto the plate. I needed to use a fork to eat it, which was a first for me. The crisp tortilla was soggy and mushy within 2 minutes of starting, and I wound up leaving most of it. The plantains were good at least, tho I don't understand why they're served with cream cheese. Certainly, while the staff gets high praise, I was disappointed to say the least, and I will not be going back.

My husband and I tried this restaurant tonight, he had the steak burrito asado. Huge burrito, deliciously marinated steak! I had the steak tacos ( tacos del guero). They were amazing! They had melted cheese, pico, guacamole, jalapeños....yum! Rice is usually something I don't waste my time on. I immediately noticed how fluffy and flavorful it was here. The salsa was just the right amount of hotness...two kinds...brown and red salsa. We even had the fried ice cream....it was enormous and well worth it. We absolutely love this place, and the owner Abel and his wife make the visit so welcoming. We have followed Abel from restaurant to restaurant, because of the quality of food he creates and puts out to his guests. Be sure to stop and notice the corn soft taco tortillas are authentic....made right in the kitchen. We will be looking forward to our next visit...very soon.

I actually looked on yelp to find a Mexican restaurant in Lawrenceville and Fridas was the first one that popped up, and boy am I glad it was!!! It is very reasonably priced, and the drinks are to die for!!! Our server, Evelyn was fantastic!!! She was able to suggest the perfect combination of drinks and a meal my boyfriend and I simply loved!!! I highly recommend the Pina Colada with the mango puree and ceviche...DIVINE!!! The only drawback to this place is its small size, however with that said we went on a Friday night and it was busy...We did not have to wait for our drinks or our food...this place is spectacular!!! *****

After dinner here Saturday night I would have to say Frida's is the best Mexican Restaurant in Gwinnett County, started with grande Dos Equis amber, chips & salsa & cheese dip, chips thin and flavorful salsa great, my wife and I shared steak fajitas, rice & beans, steak was very tender & tasty, it was enough for two, topped it off with choco flan for dessert and my wife says "best she ever had" Frida's was so good we went back Sunday night and took 9 friends, they also liked it. We all will be back.

  • Paul C.

My wife and I made our first visit here and guess what? We will not be going back to the other Mexican restaurant across from The Shoppes on Scenic Highway. Even the rice was soooooo much better- nice and fluffy, unlike some I know. I forgot the name of what I ordered but it was the second one on the speciality items- steak and chicken something. Just the right portions too. I recommend the top shelf marguerite which was on sale for 5 something. The manager came to visit and everyone we met were so pleasant, but We will probably only go on Saturdays because we really enjoyed the music. He was very talented. The only negative I found so far in my few visits there is their house margurita. It had no flavor and was obviously an inferior liquor. In conclusion, I've only been here twice, so my review is limited for now. I will update again. Shalom, Paul

Unfortunate experience when dining here. Food was not fresh. Food was prepared with Kraft Singles and some was previously frozen. Margaritas were bland, sour, and lacking alcohol. Will not be dining here again.

Wonderful dining experience each and every time. Food is FRESH, flavorful and homemade. Authentic Mexican Food, not commercialized for the masses. Best Mexican Dining Restaurant in Gwinnett County! Server's are very attentive, friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Their menu has a wonderful selection of typical Mexican fare, seafood, salads and health conscience items. They have lunch specials during the week, as well as other specials/promotions that are always changing either weekly/monthly.

I live near here, and so many of my friends have been raving about it so on a cold night this week I ventured out to try. The ambiance was strange due to kids night and a huge party going on, the table at the booth was so rocky, couldn't keep from almost spilling my beer, it wasn't the best way to start out. I must admit the menu is very different from other Mexican places, many choices and most all sounded really good. They do have the grilled salsa which I loved and even the red salsa wasn't too hot. I ordered a chicken dish with lime it sounded good, and was okay, but no special flavors, pretty bland with only rice to the tune of 11.00 the fish tacos were WAY better but also 11.95, I think prices are a bit high for Mexican food, this isn't downtown Decatur or ATL. however, I will give them another try, friendly server did talk to us which was nice, I did tell her it was our first visit. I was perhaps looking to be blown away like I am every time I visit another well know Mexican place LAS Hermanas but that was not the case.

Food was really good! Very fresh and good proportions of food for your money. We got there right before closing and they took us in and were friendly. We met the owner and he talked to us for awhile. It's a new place and he has some great ideas. I really enjoyed myself here. Oh for girls who have no clue what drink they want... Tell the bartender what you like and he'll make a drink you love!

Stopped for lunch today. I had the pork burrito and my wife had the carnitas. Both excellent. Service was excellent and very friendly. Beer was cold and served in a chilled mug. Lots of choices on the menu. Can't wait to go back and try another dish. Yum!

Stopped in for lunch when I found out that my favorite manager, Abel, owned the place. He wasn't there but his super sweet wife was, and she welcomed me just like he would've. My young Caucasian waiter tried his best to pronounce everything with a Spanish accent. Let's just say he had a lot to learn about Spanish and attentive service. Abel's wife more than made up for what he lacked. I had the steak plate that comes with a chicken enchilada, rice, beans, and Frida's guacamole salad. I ordered black beans instead of refried. However I never received beans of any kind. The chicken filling for the enchilada was juicy and plentiful. Didn't really care for the red sauce on the enchilada. It wasn't awful, just not my cup of tea. But the steak and Frida's guacamole salad made up for EVERYTHING! The steak was perfectly marinated and cooked. And the Frida's guacamole - MY GOODNESS! So delicious! It was so delicious & filling that I completely forgot about those beans! (Yup, it was THAT good.) The cheese dip was "meh" but I'm ok with that because it's really the house made corn tortilla chips that will have your tongue smacking the roof of your mouth. Yum! I can deal with a few mistakes as long as the service continues to be friendly and the food continues to be fresh & tasty!! Oh yeah! Abel's wife comped me the cheese dip for coming in. Bonus!
