I love this place, and have stopped here multiple times while driving to/from Virginia to visit home. Unfortunately, these trips have become less common (and when I do go home, I now usually opt for a plane trip), but the food at Dad's has still left a great impression on me. Each time I've visited, there's been a little old lady doing table service and cooking all the food, and she's always been very friendly and hospitable to us. For those in other reviews saying that the service here leaves something to be desired: you should realize that you're in Bumfuck, Georgia and that this lady is doing her absolute best, and I think she does a great job. I've had omelets, patty melts, and biscuits and gravy here, and each dish has been hot and delicious; prepared in a way that reminds me of my own grandma's cooking. I'd highly recommend stopping here should you find yourself near Lavonia.

They have the single best patty melt I have ever eaten in my life. The food is great to say the least. The service is a bit to be desired. Overall, the prices are reasonable and the food is outstanding.

Came into this place because I was desperate for a burger and wanted to avoid major fast good chains at all cost. The cool thing about this place is that they form their parties by hand and cool it fresh to order. The burger could had used a little more flavor, but overall it wasn't bad. They had an option of adding chili on top of the burger. I got the chili on the side, and to my surprise, I really enjoyed it. Definitely beats Mickey D's.
