My fiance came here recently and told me he was pleasantly surprised. So after a long day at the pool, we came by for a good meal and cold drink. I started with a Harp and J with a Goose Island beer. We sat at the bar (typical for us), and watched the various games while we decided. Thankfully, the bartender was patient with us because neither one of us were in a decisive mood that day. Overall, she was a great server/bartender: attentive when necessary, but didn't hover too much or leave us hanging for extended periods of time. We started with the Portabella mushroom fries, which were excellent. Thinly sliced so the mushrooms weren't soggy, and the batter had good flavor. The horseradish sauce was also very flavorful, but wasn't necessary. I was happy eating the fries by themselves. Next time, we are getting the Irish Spring Rolls, which J got last time and said they were really good. We tried to branch out this time! We split the Shepherd's Pie for our entree. I haven't had one in a really long time (I ate a lot of the frozen ones from Trader Joe's in college), and don't recall the last pie I had that was made from scratch. Regardless, this pie was fantastic! We ate the whole thing. Perfectly seasoned, and a good amount of meat. I'd order it again! I'm keeping it at 4 stars because I still feel like I have more to explore at this place. There's a possibility I'll get bump it up to 5 stars after my next visit!

Giving this establishment one star is generous. Let me start with the staff: It has been a very long time since I have felt so unimportant/ my money is not desired. It took over 20 minutes to be acknowledged sitting at the bar with only 4 other patrons. Next they are completely out of a common alcohol... Vodka? What the... Then I place my order for food (refer to pic for description on fish and chips) and sweet tea. So here we go! My tea arrives and it tastes skunked and like a dirty rag (see other posts on this dirty rag issue, they are correct). Now my food arrives! Hands down this is absolutely the worst fish and chips I have ever eaten. Chewy and just dripping with grease to the point the tasteless breading became a soggy pile in the bottom of my basket to go along with my soggy fries and slaw (not good either). Even the tarter was very close to mayo with parsley. Ok, maybe that is a little harsh on the tarter sauce but my whole experience here was horrible! We should have just drove to Meehans. They have the best fish and chips in the greater Atlanta area! As for Keegans... Keep treating your customers this way and you will eventually find that they all moved onto establishments that care about their customers! Definitely my last visit...

Decent food and live music. Enjoyable for what is has to offer. Not a bad spot to grab some drinks with friends. Had the Angus sirloin beef and cheese sliders appetizer with fries. It comes with chopped lettuce, chopped onion, and chopped tomato on the side topped with 4 pickles. It's an irish pub, so it certainly serves the standard bar food. Nothing impressive, but it does the trick!

The first time we went i did give,5 starts we went during the week and our waitress was awesome. I wish I could remember her name. We started with the spinach dip and my husband and i split the meatloaf. The second time we went out waitress just acted like we were a hassle. It was a Saturday night but not even busy. Decent neighborhood bar that i go to when I'm in the mood to stay near the house and enjoy a few drinks with a meal. The food is pretty good with a few hit or miss nights but generally a good place to hang out. They also regularly have new beers to try. And a fairly compact menu. They even have a house ale which i have a strong suspicions is just Killians but it's still really good and exceptional inexpensive!

The worst. Is it the service? Lack of management? A incredibly slow kitchen? All of the above. Stay clear, especially on St Patrick's day. Keegan's Team - the table next to us left before their appetizer showed. We tried and amazingly after an hour the food showed up - cold. Fish and chips - not cooked all the way through, even after waiting an hour. The other food, luke warm at best. And here is the kicker, cheese dip with about 1/4 the chips you would expect. When asked for more, we were reminded of the wait. Ended up getting a few extra chips to finish the dip next door at a Mexican restaurant. Okay, so blame St Patrick's day. But that wasn't it. Sorry, you just weren't that busy. The kitchen and waitress should have been better. First time - last time, steer clear unless you just here for a beer. This is not even a one star experience!

Delicious food, professional staff. The manager took the time to welcome us for our first time here with a free appetizer. Live music started at 9. Only complaint was the gravy on the Bangers and Mash tasted like it was out of a jar. Other than that, the food was excellent and we will be back.

How good is Keegan's? The ancient Celts chiseled Keegan's St. Paddy's Day party in their calendar. Keegan's is easy to find. It is in a strip shopping center that faces Barrett. See the map on the right-hand side of Keegan's Yelp listing? Ignore it. It will take you to a residential area with very narrow streets and no easy way out, particularly if you started drinking BEFORE you reached Keegan's (a friend told me so). The first time I came was on a Thursday night. There was a country/folk band playing. It seemed a bit out-of-place in a pub, but the regulars applauded enthusiastically and really seemed to like them. (I prefer Celtic girl bands in Irish pubs, but that's just the way I roll). The service is terrific. The ladies are funny and make a genuine effort to get to know you. They offer a lot of good beers (including, of course, Guinness). The bartenders are pros. I often order a fairly uncommon drink (an Old Fashioned); they knock out great ones without opening Bartending for Dummies. The food is typical pub food, but very well-executed. The first time I was there, I had the meat loaf. How good can meat loaf be? I took a bite. At the same time I took a drink of Guinness, and on the TV's, my least-favorite quarterback got sacked. For a moment, I saw God. There is a weakness in the menu: the wings. I really like lemon-pepper wings. I have tried them three times here. The lemon pepper has been tasteless. Do I recommend? Highly. Will I go back? Yep. About 37 nanoseconds after I post this.

Cool pub. Went here last night for trivia, which was quite fun. The beer list was a lot shorter than I thought it would be. I tried a portobello fry, which one of my companions ordered, and I could have eaten those for a meal. They were so good! Everyone I was with had been to Keegan's many times before and all love the place. The Pub Chicken was recommended (even over the fish and chips), so that's what I ordered. It was pretty good. Two pan-seared chicken breasts were served with mashed potatoes and green beans. Everything was covered in butter. My tummy says yes, while my belly screams no. There was nothing wrong with my meal, but I expected more since it was recommended both by my companion and the menu. Boyfriend ordered the fish and chips, which was served with cole slaw and lemon caper tartar sauce. I have to say, the fish was beautiful, the fries and slaw were good, and the tartar sauce was really good. You could really taste the lemon. One of the guys ordered fish tacos, which he said were excellent. The service was great for the guys, not so great for me. All the servers were attractive girls in short shorts. My glass was empty way longer than the guys'. Our server even came over and looked at our table and before I could ask for more water, walked away. Whatever, I'm not the one that left the tip, so I guess she played her cards right. Service definitely could have been better. I couldn't tell you anything about an authentic Irish pub, so I won't go there in evaluating Keegan's authenticity. The place was decorated pretty cool, I guess. Only one unisex bathroom, which I imagine can get pretty crowded on the weekends. I would probably go back here. Three stars just because I didn't see anything special.

Still shocked and disappointed that we brought so much business to this place for a Saint Baldrick's event and even after asking one of the owners we got no donations from them. I will not be back and I'm telling everyone I know not to go. There are plenty of bars in this area that offer equivalent food and drink so stick with the ones that pay it forward and that's not Keegans.

I walked down here from my apartment with the awesome roomie just because I was feeling lazy and didn't want to cook and because neither one of us had ever been here before. We came on trivia night but didn't participate this time around. Good thing, too, because we were STUMPED! Anywho, we both ended up ordering the fish and chips, after we came from a St. Patrick's Day fish fry / G meet / grand opening of my friend's new auto shop the day before. We were both a bit disappointed, but I think it was only because we had some BOMB food the previous day. Service was off -- the waitress was always there when we didn't need anything and never there when we actually did; drinks were also never once topped off even though I drank all of my water (and that almost never happens.. just ask my friends!) This place was okay, especially because I remember this place has a coupon. Hooray for discounts!

I have had Keegan's food twice, once dining in and once as carry-out. The food here is delicious. It's fresh, homemade, and is unique. Our server could have visited our table a tad bit more, but the taste of the food made up for it. I highly recommend the Krispy Kreme bread pudding for dessert, just do yourself the favor and take the calories! Make sure you arrive at the restaurant promptly after you place your carry-out order, I was given a time frame and our food was room temperature when I checked the boxes in the car. All in all, this place is a winner winner chicken dinner for the Kennesaw community!

Great Irish BAR! Good food, service and beers. Also has plenty of TV's and live music that can actually be enjoyable. I enjoy throwing darts here and relaxing outside on their patio during warm summer nights. Pros: Great atmosphere. Well managed and staffed. Pretty good Irish bar menu (not a restaurant but close). I have been coming here for more than a year now and must say that if you are looking for a nice "pub" then this is your place. Everyone here will try to get to know your name and will remember you upon your return. There are many regulars here and are quite fun to get to know. Between the live music and trivia nights accompanied by nightly food and drink specials, you will always feel welcomed as you walk in. You can even bring the family if you like. This place offers a more decent atmosphere for the family than the "family oriented" Hooters for sure. If you want (cr)Applebee's AND "like" that kind of place, I suggest you go there. If you want a warm and inviting atmosphere, decent service, consistent food preparation, bartenders who KNOW how to pull a pint of beer or build your favorite cocktail, and folks who will get to know you, then this is your place. Take advantage of it's friendly staff, Celtic motif, and soccer on the tube, and I guarantee you will be satisfied.

I want to say the main issue is because the beer list could be equivalent to if not less than a applebee's or a red lobster. This could have been a 4 star review for the ambiance of a nice local Irish Pub with a good beer selection, bla, bla, bla... But after too many bad food experiences I gotta pull 2 stars away. French Onion soup should be rich but not like drinking a moist bullion cube..gimme some juice baby!!! Grilled means "Grilled" not toasted bread with hot innards. And I would NEVER serve a Black and Tan or a Half and Half that didn't layer. Rise above mediocrity!!!! Try harder!!! (...and please go out of your way to put more soccer -- futbol -- on your TV's. I like golf, but watching it is about as exciting as watching paint dry. Soccer! MLS! Goal TV!!!)

I've visited Keegan's quite a few times and each time its been a great experience. I've always been a huge fan of the English/ Irish Pub type bar/ restaurant. I found the food selection to be pretty authentic with a good selection of international beers & adult beverages. Years ago I was a frequent patron and supporter of McColgan's Irish Public House in Alpharetta on State Bridge Rd. & Kimball Bridge Rd. To my friends and I this was as authentic an Irish Pub you could find anywhere in Atlanta. Once McColgan's closed I found Loafing Leprechaun in both Duluth & Alpharetta. Loafing continued the authentic feel of a great pub. Now that both establishments are long gone, Keegan's is by far one of the better places to enjoy an ice cold pint and some traditional Irish food. I have to agree with several comments of those who already posted there thoughts on Keegan's.On rare occasions, it has taken longer than normal to get our food orders out. Took excessive time to get our order but worth the wait. Also had a great St. Party's Day celebration.

Based on my current experience I have to give this place a low score. I have been here several time over the past few years. The beer selection is always good. The service is usually good. The food is a little inconsistent but the last few times it has been quite good. The decor is basically consistent with an Irish pub but there are tons of miller and bud signs along side of the Guinness and Harp signs. When there is live music, it has been good but not very Irish. When there's no live entertainment, the music is selected by the patrons on one of those internet connected juke boxes. All this detracts from the feeling that this is an authentic Irish Pub. On top of that, today was particularly bad due to the large group of over served and obnoxious regulars. Our waitress said "they're here all the time; they think they own the place." When we arrived I saw these people at the bar and felt some animosity in the stares they gave us as we waited to be greeted. We were told to sit wherever we liked so we selected a both across from the bar. Shortly after we arrived another patron got up and left giving my wife a commiserating smile and a roll of the eyes. They were loudly, and badly, singing along to the songs they had selected on the juke box. They would all yell at the top of their lungs for no apparent reason and whenever they took a shot one of them would whistle an ear piercing screech. They clearly thought everyone in the bar wanted to watch their drunken antics. My wife and I left as soon as we completed our meals. We probably would have hung out and had another beer or three if it had not been for those obnoxious jerks. No matter how often a few regulars come, they can't make up for the number of patrons they drive off because of behavior like that.

A nice place to sit and have a beer or two and to satisfy your Banger's and Mash craving. A group of us went here for the first time to play some team trivia (Monday nights at 7:30) and while not a large or lavishly decorated pub, it has a warm, homey feel to it. There isnt a lot of seating for large groups (We had 12 people) and we were a little tight, but next time we are going to grab a few tables in the open area and it should alleviate the people crunch. I tried the Bangers and Mash which was pretty good but seeing as how I have never had it in England or Ireland I have no baseline to compare it to. With that said, the fish and chips looks pretty good as well and they have several beers that, for $3.00 a glass, arent a bad deal. The servers there are relatively friendly and do what they can to make it an enjoyable experience. The men's room is a little on the small side, but they have another restroom that is a little larger that is unisex. Im going to be heading back to check out some of the other offerings on the menu as well as some of the additional beers but I dont anticipate being too disappointed.

I've gone here twice can honestly say it's one of the best pubs I've been to. The first time I went there was with my mother and we decided to go there on a whim; needless to say, it was one of the better decisions either of us have made in a while. First off, it looks and feels like a true irish pub; not an american style bar moonlighting as a irish pub. It was a bit loud, but that's to be expected when your at a pub on a saturday. But overall, it's a really cool looking place. Now onto the best part, the food. I ordered the deluxe grilled cheese and my mother had the shepherd's pie. My sandwich came with a cup of tomato bisque (which was good) and the sandwich itself was pretty darn good (who knew that bbq pork, mac n' cheese, and caramelized onions on a grilled cheese sandwich would taste soo good). My mom really liked the shepherd's pie although it's not an authentic shepherd's pie; but that's just being picky lol. The second time we went was on a friday and it was better than the first visit. I ordered the same sandwich (because it was soo good that I had to have it again lol) and my mom ordered the open faced pot roast sandwich. My sandwich was better than last time becaused of a couple things done with it that wasn't done the first time around. This time the pork was actually shredded (the last time it was cubed in large chunks) and covered in a bbq sauce (which was left off the first time); these little differences made the sandwich WAY better than the first time I had it. My mom's pot roast sandwich came with mashed potatoes and both were covered in brown gravy; she loved everything, especially the beef itself (which I tried a piece of and can tell you it was awesome); but she said that it was a little salty and I can agree with that statement as well. All in all, this place is great and is my go to irish pub. If your looking for a pub with great food and atmosphere, this is the place for you and I will be going back soon.

The atmosphere is nice, too-- a little darker at night, lit up with candles and TVs, but brighter during the day with the light coming through the windows. I've been here several times. Overall, i like the food and really enjoy the beer selection. Over half of my visits have been for lunch and i have enjoyed those - good food, decent service. However, my last few visits have been in the evenings and my last visit was during trivia night. The service was non-existent, our waiter disappeared and never offered an update on the status of our food. About the only thing he did correctly was keep my pint full. When the food arrived around an hour after we ordered, it was poorly assembled and not up to the usual quality that i've experienced at Keegan's. As we were leaving, we noticed that the kitchen door was propped open with a chair and the kitchen staff had quite a few guests milling around. This place has 5 star potential, but unless the owners jack up the service and pay attention to what's going on in the kitchen, good Irish beer isn't going to be enough to keep the doors open.

Having been to Keegan's Irish Pub about 3 times now, I have mixed feelings about it. On one hand, Keegan's is a charming pub, with friendly staff and a decent out door patio. But on the other hand, it seems to be lacking in the food department. As far as the crowd, Keegan's seems to be a mix of young and older, very different from the crowd at Bailey's up the street which is mostly young and rowdy college kids. On my most recent visit, food seemed promising but ultimately was somewhat of a disappointment. Two of us out of our party of three began with a cup of the Mulligan's stew. This stew is a mixture of lamb, onions, potatoes and carrots. It is pretty hearty and a cup offers a generous portion of lamb. And at $3.95 per cup it is a great value. You can also get a bowl for $6. If you visit, don't miss this. So far so good. I wanted to go with something small as the stew was pretty filling, so I ordered the Irish Egg rolls. Unlike traditional egg rolls, these are wontons filled with cabbage, swiss cheese and corned beef. They also come with thousand island dipping dressing on the side. What a mistake it was to get these! I would tell you how the corned beef tasted but I can't because the tiny specs they put in there were dwarfed by the cabbage and swiss cheese. Although the wonton was crispy, the lack of corned beef left the eggroll unbalanced and was a huge letdown. It is too bad because the idea is a good one- but the actual execution is a failure. As I sit here writing this post, my stomach is punishing me for this meal selection. My bf ordered the fish tacos for his entree. The portion is large with 3 overstuffed fish tacos. The cod was cooked well and there was plenty in each taco. Too bad the side of tomatoes that comes with the dish was rancid. The third person in our party wanted to order the corned beef and cabbage but we were told that is only available on Sundays. Really? In an Irish Pub? So, she settled for the Shepherd' pie which I thought was solid. The service is friendly and reliable. So, although some of the offerings were less than stellar, I would still visit Keegan's Irish Pub again.

I have been here twice now, the first time was just drinks and fun, this time I actually tried the food, it was much better than I expected. The veggie burger (I was with a couple of girls and got to try their fare too) was really good and the portabella fries were awesome, little wedges of wholesome goodness that may be good enough to write home about! The bass on tap is a bonus and the live music was entertaining. The wait staff left a little to be desired, very cute but I somehow ended up with a glass of wine on my tab by the end of the night, and I wasn't drinking wine! ...and I don't think I had drunk enough to forget buying someone a glass of wine...) The few things in my mind that keep it from a 5 star are a crowded layout and uncomfortable seating if you are not in a booth (luckily I was both times but did pop off to make "rounds" once or twice with others I got to know that night) it is a friendly place too! There are a lot of things I really like about this pub. First, conservative signage placed right over the door in Gaelic font like a traditional Irish pub.. That is something you look for; it means they are trying to get it right. Sports on the TV but the sound system is playing Irish music. Irish fare on the menu. Red headed colleen takes our order. This is promising. The food was great as was the service. The pub has a nice warm feel. They also follow European football. One complaint. Irish coffee came to the table lukewarm with no pizazz. Frankly, I just need the coffee and the whiskey but usually you see whipped cream or sugar on the rim. They make it the way I do- except I make it hot- but gf likes more creaminess as do most people, I think. I saw this cute little pub from the road and decided to get a drink before going out last night. The bartender was such a sweetheart. Although, the crowd wasn't quite what I expected, being a young girl at 23 most of the ppl were in their 30's, it was a really nice bar. I was in the area and decided to stop and try this place out. Very happy I did! It's a nice cozy bar with a handful of regulars. I loved how the outside patio is attached to the bar so you can have the option of sitting at the bar either in or out. The Guinness was poured so well I was afraid to drink it. Started off with the blarney chips. The Harp lager cheese dip that was on it was wonderful. The chicken was properly shredded and very tasty. I barely saved any room for the bookmaker sandwich I had ordered. The roast beef was tender and moist. Not over cooked like some places. The fish and chips were also good. Next time I will have to try the Krispy Kreme bread pudding. Overall I appreciated the laid back vibe that Keegan's gave off. Prices weren't too bad. You can expect to pay Taco Mac prices for the beers only get better quality. Definitely will be back.

We've been playing trivia here for the last couple of weeks, and now that I have a few experiences under my belt, I can say with certainty that I rate it a . . . . meh. I have to echo Rick's earlier review that the venue does not cater to larger groups. Uncomfortable wood stools and high top tables comprise the majority of the seating, unless you have 2 or 3 people in your group, then you might be fortunate enough to score one of the few booths. Navigating through the establishment is an exercise in dodges, bumps and multiple apologies. Service is adequate, but the servers are easily flustered with a crowd (we had a certificate from a previous trivia win, and the waitress had no idea how to prorate $5 off of each of our tabs and with an exasperated sigh said that it would take her "more than 20 minutes" to figure out the process. Hmmmmmm.) There are a few shining star appetizers (the reuben eggrolls and beer cheese dip in particular.) I am not normally one to give 5 stars, but I was completely surprised by how good the food is here. I ordered their Keegan's Chips (fried chips covered in melted blue cheese) to start and then their veggie melt. Both were perfectly prepared and delicious. I don't think I've had a sandwich that good, well for a very long time. I'll defiantly be coming back for more!

My husband and I decided to try this place last night, a Friday...We arrived around 7pm and it was packed to the brim...We had a 45 min. wait for a table. Luckily we ran into someone we knew at the bar and I was given a seat. The bartenders are funny and entertaining. Lots of people knew each other at the bar. We were finally seated at one of those tall tables with the uncomfortable bar stools (no backs). The booth would be so much more comfortable but you had to have more than two in your party to rate one, I think. The place is very small. Very loud but lots of fun. I can't tell you how many times I was hit in the arm by a purse or someone waving their arms around to tell a story. By the time we received our food, the crowd had thinned out a bit. I would suggest that you go before 6pm or after 8pm...It was well worth the wait. We have actually been to Ireland twice and this was very similar to the many pubs there. My husband ordered the fish and chips. He said it was the best he had ever had in the states. I ordered the Bookmaker sandwich which was a French Dip piled high with beef. We each had a choice of one side. I chose the marinated mushrooms which were very tasty but chopped a little small for my taste. He had the french fries (chips). We will definitely go back to try more dishes. We thought the food prices were very reasonable. Our server was attentive and friendly. I understand that they are expanding to next door which will be great. In this economy when lots of restaurants are closing their doors, I think this says a lot. Provide tasty food at reasonable prices with good service and the people will come...

I visited from out of town over St. Patrick's Day weekend. This place was so festive! They even had tables and a tent set up outside for overflow, plus there is nice outside seating. Great place. The staff, primarily all female, were so nice and helpful. I ordered a simple sandwich, salad and wine. Pretty big portions, but really great quality. I met some nice people at the bar. Overall, great atmosphere and great staff.

Wow really.....so the services SUCKED and when a waitress FINALLY walked by (literally tried to walk by like we didn't exist) I had to stop her and basically beg for food and she was so bummed that she had to...wait for it....WORK! Crazy I know! So the dip wasn't great but it wasn't horrible either it was basically something you can't F UP. The sweet tea on the other hand tasted like it was brewed a week prior with used teabags that were placed in an old mans dirty socks which a skunk proceeded to wife its ass with and then used for brewing that tea! It only took one sip to change to a soda and also only one sip to make my stomach have pain like the alien movie when the woman gives birth to the alien....sooo that was awesome ! And of course they were out of some eddy a vodka lemonade or whatever it's called! How are you out of a main source or liquor it's like A Chinese food restaurant being out of rice or a Mexican restaurant being out of Salsa WTF. So that happened and I will not be going back there unless I'm constipated then maybe I will go order a sweet tea to go but call ahead so I only have to wait an hour

We've been looking for an authentic style English/Irish pub on our side of town for a few years now. Every so often, the craving for fish and chips with a good ale or stout hits us and usually we need to travel well over to the other side of town in order to satisfy this fixation. We discovered Keegan's a little while back but never actually made the effort to dine there. This past week was our first time. The inside of the restaurant has a great feel. The bar area is separated from an additional dining area in the back, so if the bar is crowded, due to running one of its many specials during the week, one can dine away from all of the noise, if one so chooses. We decided to have a stout (only $4 on Thursday) and started the meal off with the sample appetizer. The plate comes with "Irish wontons" (wraps of corned beef, cabbage and Swiss cheese), beef or chicken sliders, and buffalo wings. The Irish wontons were simply amazing, but everything on the platter was delicious as well. For our entrees, my wife and son had the fish and chips (Cod fried in traditional English style), while I had the slightly more exotic Finnegan's Fry (Haddock fried in a beer batter). The lemon caper tartar sauce that came with both dishes was absolutely out of this world! I was impressed by the good prices, quantity and quality of the food. The service was outstanding as well. While not all of the dishes on the menu are strictly "authentic", I cannot recommend Keegan's highly enough. It was a fantastic experience that we intend to repeat again and again.

Half Irish pub, half sports bar. They have a bunch of TV's tuned to the usual sporting events. With some tables outside that are great for a nice day, on the inside half of the place is set up as a bar with booths and the other half is booths and tables. On the beer menu, the usual Guinness and Harp but also a Keegan's Red and then the usual mass-produced American beers. The food menu has things that don't belong in an Irish pub unless you're in the United States - fish tacos and a turkey burger for instance. I missed the Sunday brunch hours, so my dinner was a plate of meatloaf that was served on top of mashed potatoes. Surprisingly good, but I really wanted a Sunday roast sort of thing. I've heard great things about their bread pudding, but I wasn't in a dessert mood. Maybe next time. Important note: The map pin might be off just a touch. It's actually facing Ernest Barrett Parkway. Don't get onto Cobb Parkway and try navigating through a residential neighborhood!

I got burger sliders which were okay and the wings were pretty good. There wasn't necessarily anything lacking about Keegan's. It was just okay. I do find myself craving those Irish Spring Rolls which I am sure would be excellent paired with a tall glass of beer. So to that.. I will surely return.

Its very cozy inside with plenty of seating to enjoy the atmosphere. The decorations are nice but the place could stand to be a bit darker. I was a little put off by the music. I was expecting irish music or atleast UK based artists but what i got was top 40 junk. we eventually found it this was because they were having Bar Bingo that night so the Bingomaster was playing tunes from his laptop. I guess thats ok, i'll just have to go back and see if the music gets better. The staff was friendly but not terribly quick which i guess should be expected of a pub type place. We orded some beers and a couple of waters and they were out fast enough. i really can't complain to much about this since it gave us some times to play Bingo. The food was awesome. I had the Irish breakfast. Fried eggs, sausage, bacon, potatos, baked beans and toast. it was a lot of food and it was all great. The wife had a cheeseburger since she isn't the most adventerous and our friend had a steak sandwich. I didn't try the sandwich but the burger was great if messy. i think i'm going to try to head back out there when i know they'll have a football (soccer) game on and i can sit outside. I have really high hopes for this place and can't wait to try it again.

Stopped in here with the hubs on a random Saturday. I ordered a Stella, hubs had Killians. They were lovely, cold pints! We shared a sampler appetizer that had sliders, Irish spring rolls and wings, and also split a reuben sandwich. The food was just OK; perhaps we should have gone for the bangers and mash or the fish and chips. I would definitely go back, but probably wouldn't come hungry...just thirsty!

My husband and I hosted a After Wedding Rehearsal Dinner Party for our son and his bride to be over the Memorial Weekend. From the moment I contacted this particular Keegan's to set up the event, the Manager could not have been more accommodating. We met with him a month out to discuss the menu. He made recommendations that would fit our budget and please our guest. The evening itself came off perfectly. The wait staff were friendly, professional and efficient. When it comes to Irish pub-style restaurants, I generally rate my experience based on overall ambiance and by how well they execute two important menu staples: a pint of Guinness, and a full Irish Breakfast. Keegan's does a pretty good job at both but its breakfast pales in comparison to the one served up at Atlanta competitor Meehan's. As for the Guinness, mine was properly poured and promptly served. Bonus--on Thursdays all draft beers are $3/each, Guinness included! This makes Keegan's a great place to pop in for a pint. The Irish Breakfast was generously portioned, tasty and mostly well cooked. It consists of bangers, rashers, two eggs any style, baked beans and a potato/pepper hash. It's a lot of food. The bangers were perfectly textured and juicy, although the rashers were a bit rubbery and unremarkable. Where this presentation really lags behind Meehan's is with the inclusion of toast (vs. soda bread) and the complete omission of black & white pudding. To me, those are two hallmarks of a full Irish Breakfast and their conspicuous absence at Keegan's is a let-down. I also sampled the traditional Reuben sandwich and it was disappointing. The corned beef was chewy and lacked much flavor, giving the entire sandwich an odd and unpleasant consistency. It's described on the menu as "grilled lean corned beef" so maybe that preparation is just not ideal for a Reuben sandwich. While we dined at around 8:00 on a Thursday, a musician set up and began playing his guitar. He sang a song by Jack Johnson and then one by John Mayer before we left. It seemed like odd music for a pub, and I didn't particularly enjoy it. But it's nice that Keegan's invites local musicians to come in and play. I would stop in again at Keegan's for a pint (or several), but would probably choose to eat elsewhere in the future.

My fiance came here recently and told me he was pleasantly surprised. So after a long day at the pool, we came by for a good meal and cold drink. I started with a Harp and J with a Goose Island beer. We sat at the bar (typical for us), and watched the various games while we decided. Thankfully, the bartender was patient with us because neither one of us were in a decisive mood that day. Overall, she was a great server/bartender: attentive when necessary, but didn't hover too much or leave us hanging for extended periods of time. We started with the Portabella mushroom fries, which were excellent. Thinly sliced so the mushrooms weren't soggy, and the batter had good flavor. The horseradish sauce was also very flavorful, but wasn't necessary. I was happy eating the fries by themselves. Next time, we are getting the Irish Spring Rolls, which J got last time and said they were really good. We tried to branch out this time! We split the Shepherd's Pie for our entree. I haven't had one in a really long time (I ate a lot of the frozen ones from Trader Joe's in college), and don't recall the last pie I had that was made from scratch. Regardless, this pie was fantastic! We ate the whole thing. Perfectly seasoned, and a good amount of meat. I'd order it again! I'm keeping it at 4 stars because I still feel like I have more to explore at this place. There's a possibility I'll get bump it up to 5 stars after my next visit!

Giving this establishment one star is generous. Let me start with the staff: It has been a very long time since I have felt so unimportant/ my money is not desired. It took over 20 minutes to be acknowledged sitting at the bar with only 4 other patrons. Next they are completely out of a common alcohol... Vodka? What the... Then I place my order for food (refer to pic for description on fish and chips) and sweet tea. So here we go! My tea arrives and it tastes skunked and like a dirty rag (see other posts on this dirty rag issue, they are correct). Now my food arrives! Hands down this is absolutely the worst fish and chips I have ever eaten. Chewy and just dripping with grease to the point the tasteless breading became a soggy pile in the bottom of my basket to go along with my soggy fries and slaw (not good either). Even the tarter was very close to mayo with parsley. Ok, maybe that is a little harsh on the tarter sauce but my whole experience here was horrible! We should have just drove to Meehans. They have the best fish and chips in the greater Atlanta area! As for Keegans... Keep treating your customers this way and you will eventually find that they all moved onto establishments that care about their customers! Definitely my last visit...

There are a lot of things I really like about this pub. First, conservative signage placed right over the door in Gaelic font like a traditional Irish pub.. That is something you look for; it means they are trying to get it right. Sports on the TV but the sound system is playing Irish music. Irish fare on the menu. Red headed colleen takes our order. This is promising. The food was great as was the service. The pub has a nice warm feel. They also follow European football. One complaint. Irish coffee came to the table lukewarm with no pizazz. Frankly, I just need the coffee and the whiskey but usually you see whipped cream or sugar on the rim. They make it the way I do- except I make it hot- but gf likes more creaminess as do most people, I think. Here is a quote supporting that view: Only Irish coffee provides in a single glass all four essential food groups: alcohol, caffeine, sugar, and fat. - Alex Levine This pub is making a good effort to maintain it's identity as an Irish pub while doing the things they feel they have to do to keep the young crowd coming in- bar bingo, team trivia, and cover artists. And they are doing it in a classy way without the stupid shamrock cutouts and leprechaun statuary. Keegans, you are just 1 live Irish singer away from 5 stars! Fecken excellent!

The first time we went i did give,5 starts we went during the week and our waitress was awesome. I wish I could remember her name. We started with the spinach dip and my husband and i split the meatloaf. The second time we went out waitress just acted like we were a hassle. It was a Saturday night but not even busy. The worst. Is it the service? Lack of management? A incredibly slow kitchen? All of the above. Stay clear, especially on St Patrick's day. Keegan's Team - the table next to us left before their appetizer showed. We tried and amazingly after an hour the food showed up - cold. Fish and chips - not cooked all the way through, even after waiting an hour. The other food, luke warm at best. And here is the kicker, cheese dip with about 1/4 the chips you would expect. When asked for more, we were reminded of the wait. Ended up getting a few extra chips to finish the dip next door at a Mexican restaurant. Okay, so blame St Patrick's day. But that wasn't it. Sorry, you just weren't that busy. The kitchen and waitress should have been better. First time - last time, steer clear unless you just here for a beer. This is not even a one star experience!

I've visited Keegan's quite a few times and each time its been a great experience. I've always been a huge fan of the English/ Irish Pub type bar/ restaurant. I found the food selection to be pretty authentic with a good selection of international beers & adult beverages. Years ago I was a frequent patron and supporter of McColgan's Irish Public House in Alpharetta on State Bridge Rd. & Kimball Bridge Rd. To my friends and I this was as authentic an Irish Pub you could find anywhere in Atlanta. Once McColgan's closed I found Loafing Leprechaun in both Duluth & Alpharetta. Loafing continued the authentic feel of a great pub. Now that both establishments are long gone, Keegan's is by far one of the better places to enjoy an ice cold pint and some traditional Irish food. I have to agree with several comments of those who already posted there thoughts on Keegan's.On rare occasions, it has taken longer than normal to get our food orders out. Took excessive time to get our order but worth the wait. Also had a great St. Party's Day celebration.

Based on my current experience I have to give this place a low score. I have been here several time over the past few years. The beer selection is always good. The service is usually good. The food is a little inconsistent but the last few times it has been quite good. The decor is basically consistent with an Irish pub but there are tons of miller and bud signs along side of the Guinness and Harp signs. When there is live music, it has been good but not very Irish. When there's no live entertainment, the music is selected by the patrons on one of those internet connected juke boxes. All this detracts from the feeling that this is an authentic Irish Pub. On top of that, today was particularly bad due to the large group of over served and obnoxious regulars. Our waitress said "they're here all the time; they think they own the place." When we arrived I saw these people at the bar and felt some animosity in the stares they gave us as we waited to be greeted. We were told to sit wherever we liked so we selected a both across from the bar. Shortly after we arrived another patron got up and left giving my wife a commiserating smile and a roll of the eyes. They were loudly, and badly, singing along to the songs they had selected on the juke box. They would all yell at the top of their lungs for no apparent reason and whenever they took a shot one of them would whistle an ear piercing screech. They clearly thought everyone in the bar wanted to watch their drunken antics. My wife and I left as soon as we completed our meals. We probably would have hung out and had another beer or three if it had not been for those obnoxious jerks. No matter how often a few regulars come, they can't make up for the number of patrons they drive off because of behavior like that.

How good is Keegan's? The ancient Celts chiseled Keegan's St. Paddy's Day party in their calendar. Keegan's is easy to find. It is in a strip shopping center that faces Barrett. See the map on the right-hand side of Keegan's Yelp listing? Ignore it. It will take you to a residential area with very narrow streets and no easy way out, particularly if you started drinking BEFORE you reached Keegan's (a friend told me so). The first time I came was on a Thursday night. There was a country/folk band playing. It seemed a bit out-of-place in a pub, but the regulars applauded enthusiastically and really seemed to like them. (I prefer Celtic girl bands in Irish pubs, but that's just the way I roll). The service is terrific. The ladies are funny and make a genuine effort to get to know you. They offer a lot of good beers (including, of course, Guinness). The bartenders are pros. I often order a fairly uncommon drink (an Old Fashioned); they knock out great ones without opening Bartending for Dummies. The food is typical pub food, but very well-executed. The first time I was there, I had the meat loaf. How good can meat loaf be? I took a bite. At the same time I took a drink of Guinness, and on the TV's, my least-favorite quarterback got sacked. For a moment, I saw God. There is a weakness in the menu: the wings. I really like lemon-pepper wings. I have tried them three times here. The lemon pepper has been tasteless. Do I recommend? Highly. Will I go back? Yep. About 37 nanoseconds after I post this.

Cool pub. Went here last night for trivia, which was quite fun. The beer list was a lot shorter than I thought it would be. I tried a portobello fry, which one of my companions ordered, and I could have eaten those for a meal. They were so good! Everyone I was with had been to Keegan's many times before and all love the place. The Pub Chicken was recommended (even over the fish and chips), so that's what I ordered. It was pretty good. Two pan-seared chicken breasts were served with mashed potatoes and green beans. Everything was covered in butter. My tummy says yes, while my belly screams no. There was nothing wrong with my meal, but I expected more since it was recommended both by my companion and the menu. Boyfriend ordered the fish and chips, which was served with cole slaw and lemon caper tartar sauce. I have to say, the fish was beautiful, the fries and slaw were good, and the tartar sauce was really good. You could really taste the lemon. One of the guys ordered fish tacos, which he said were excellent. The service was great for the guys, not so great for me. All the servers were attractive girls in short shorts. My glass was empty way longer than the guys'. Our server even came over and looked at our table and before I could ask for more water, walked away. Whatever, I'm not the one that left the tip, so I guess she played her cards right. Service definitely could have been better. I couldn't tell you anything about an authentic Irish pub, so I won't go there in evaluating Keegan's authenticity. The place was decorated pretty cool, I guess. Only one unisex bathroom, which I imagine can get pretty crowded on the weekends. I would probably go back here. Three stars just because I didn't see anything special.

Still shocked and disappointed that we brought so much business to this place for a Saint Baldrick's event and even after asking one of the owners we got no donations from them. I will not be back and I'm telling everyone I know not to go. There are plenty of bars in this area that offer equivalent food and drink so stick with the ones that pay it forward and that's not Keegans.

I walked down here from my apartment with the awesome roomie just because I was feeling lazy and didn't want to cook and because neither one of us had ever been here before. We came on trivia night but didn't participate this time around. Good thing, too, because we were STUMPED! Anywho, we both ended up ordering the fish and chips, after we came from a St. Patrick's Day fish fry / G meet / grand opening of my friend's new auto shop the day before. We were both a bit disappointed, but I think it was only because we had some BOMB food the previous day. Service was off -- the waitress was always there when we didn't need anything and never there when we actually did; drinks were also never once topped off even though I drank all of my water (and that almost never happens.. just ask my friends!) This place was okay, especially because I remember this place has a coupon. Hooray for discounts!

I have had Keegan's food twice, once dining in and once as carry-out. The food here is delicious. It's fresh, homemade, and is unique. Our server could have visited our table a tad bit more, but the taste of the food made up for it. I highly recommend the Krispy Kreme bread pudding for dessert, just do yourself the favor and take the calories! Make sure you arrive at the restaurant promptly after you place your carry-out order, I was given a time frame and our food was room temperature when I checked the boxes in the car. All in all, this place is a winner winner chicken dinner for the Kennesaw community!

One of my fave places to go in Kennesaw. Try the Pub Chicken with double sauteed mushrooms for your sides. Just delicious and a big portion, so you'll have leftovers! Pretty good selection of delicious beers, as well.

I've gone here twice can honestly say it's one of the best pubs I've been to. The first time I went there was with my mother and we decided to go there on a whim; needless to say, it was one of the better decisions either of us have made in a while. First off, it looks and feels like a true irish pub; not an american style bar moonlighting as a irish pub. It was a bit loud, but that's to be expected when your at a pub on a saturday. But overall, it's a really cool looking place. Now onto the best part, the food. I ordered the deluxe grilled cheese and my mother had the shepherd's pie. My sandwich came with a cup of tomato bisque (which was good) and the sandwich itself was pretty darn good (who knew that bbq pork, mac n' cheese, and caramelized onions on a grilled cheese sandwich would taste soo good). My mom really liked the shepherd's pie although it's not an authentic shepherd's pie; but that's just being picky lol. The second time we went was on a friday and it was better than the first visit. I ordered the same sandwich (because it was soo good that I had to have it again lol) and my mom ordered the open faced pot roast sandwich. My sandwich was better than last time becaused of a couple things done with it that wasn't done the first time around. This time the pork was actually shredded (the last time it was cubed in large chunks) and covered in a bbq sauce (which was left off the first time); these little differences made the sandwich WAY better than the first time I had it. My mom's pot roast sandwich came with mashed potatoes and both were covered in brown gravy; she loved everything, especially the beef itself (which I tried a piece of and can tell you it was awesome); but she said that it was a little salty and I can agree with that statement as well. All in all, this place is great and is my go to irish pub. If your looking for a pub with great food and atmosphere, this is the place for you and I will be going back soon.

I love Keegan's. Their pub-style food is good quality, not too greasy, and reasonably priced. The atmosphere is nice, too-- a little darker at night, lit up with candles and TVs, but brighter during the day with the light coming through the windows. Great place to catch any game you want to watch, and great service, as well. I recommend the tuna burger! Soo good, and the mashed potatoes side is delicious.

I've been here several times. Overall, i like the food and really enjoy the beer selection. Over half of my visits have been for lunch and i have enjoyed those - good food, decent service. However, my last few visits have been in the evenings and my last visit was during trivia night. The service was non-existent, our waiter disappeared and never offered an update on the status of our food. About the only thing he did correctly was keep my pint full. When the food arrived around an hour after we ordered, it was poorly assembled and not up to the usual quality that i've experienced at Keegan's. As we were leaving, we noticed that the kitchen door was propped open with a chair and the kitchen staff had quite a few guests milling around. This place has 5 star potential, but unless the owners jack up the service and pay attention to what's going on in the kitchen, good Irish beer isn't going to be enough to keep the doors open.

I have been coming here for more than a year now and must say that if you are looking for a nice "pub" then this is your place. Everyone here will try to get to know your name and will remember you upon your return. There are many regulars here and are quite fun to get to know. Between the live music and trivia nights accompanied by nightly food and drink specials, you will always feel welcomed as you walk in. You can even bring the family if you like. This place offers a more decent atmosphere for the family than the "family oriented" Hooters for sure. If you want (cr)Applebee's AND "like" that kind of place, I suggest you go there. If you want a warm and inviting atmosphere, decent service, consistent food preparation, bartenders who KNOW how to pull a pint of beer or build your favorite cocktail, and folks who will get to know you, then this is your place. Take advantage of it's friendly staff, Celtic motif, and soccer on the tube, and I guarantee you will be satisfied.

French Onion soup should be rich but not like drinking a moist bullion cube..gimme some juice baby!!! Grilled means "Grilled" not toasted bread with hot innards. And I would NEVER serve a Black and Tan or a Half and Half that didn't layer. Rise above mediocrity!!!! Try harder!!! (...and please go out of your way to put more soccer -- futbol -- on your TV's. Stopped in here with the hubs on a random Saturday. I ordered a Stella, hubs had Killians. They were lovely, cold pints! We shared a sampler appetizer that had sliders, Irish spring rolls and wings, and also split a reuben sandwich. The food was just OK; perhaps we should have gone for the bangers and mash or the fish and chips. I would definitely go back, but probably wouldn't come hungry...just thirsty!

I was in the area and decided to stop and try this place out. Very happy I did! It's a nice cozy bar with a handful of regulars. I loved how the outside patio is attached to the bar so you can have the option of sitting at the bar either in or out. The Guinness was poured so well I was afraid to drink it. Started off with the blarney chips. The Harp lager cheese dip that was on it was wonderful. The chicken was properly shredded and very tasty. I barely saved any room for the bookmaker sandwich I had ordered. The roast beef was tender and moist. Not over cooked like some places. The fish and chips were also good. Next time I will have to try the Krispy Kreme bread pudding. Overall I appreciated the laid back vibe that Keegan's gave off. Prices weren't too bad. You can expect to pay Taco Mac prices for the beers only get better quality. Definitely will be back.

Although, the crowd wasn't quite what I expected, being a young girl at 23 most of the ppl were in their 30's, it was a really nice bar. A nice place to sit and have a beer or two and to satisfy your Banger's and Mash craving. A group of us went here for the first time to play some team trivia (Monday nights at 7:30) and while not a large or lavishly decorated pub, it has a warm, homey feel to it. There isnt a lot of seating for large groups (We had 12 people) and we were a little tight, but next time we are going to grab a few tables in the open area and it should alleviate the people crunch. I tried the Bangers and Mash which was pretty good but seeing as how I have never had it in England or Ireland I have no baseline to compare it to. With that said, the fish and chips looks pretty good as well and they have several beers that, for $3.00 a glass, arent a bad deal. The servers there are relatively friendly and do what they can to make it an enjoyable experience. The men's room is a little on the small side, but they have another restroom that is a little larger that is unisex. Im going to be heading back to check out some of the other offerings on the menu as well as some of the additional beers but I dont anticipate being too disappointed.

Having been to Keegan's Irish Pub about 3 times now, I have mixed feelings about it. On one hand, Keegan's is a charming pub, with friendly staff and a decent out door patio. But on the other hand, it seems to be lacking in the food department. As far as the crowd, Keegan's seems to be a mix of young and older, very different from the crowd at Bailey's up the street which is mostly young and rowdy college kids. On my most recent visit, food seemed promising but ultimately was somewhat of a disappointment. Two of us out of our party of three began with a cup of the Mulligan's stew. This stew is a mixture of lamb, onions, potatoes and carrots. It is pretty hearty and a cup offers a generous portion of lamb. And at $3.95 per cup it is a great value. You can also get a bowl for $6. If you visit, don't miss this. So far so good. I wanted to go with something small as the stew was pretty filling, so I ordered the Irish Egg rolls. Unlike traditional egg rolls, these are wontons filled with cabbage, swiss cheese and corned beef. They also come with thousand island dipping dressing on the side. What a mistake it was to get these! I would tell you how the corned beef tasted but I can't because the tiny specs they put in there were dwarfed by the cabbage and swiss cheese. Although the wonton was crispy, the lack of corned beef left the eggroll unbalanced and was a huge letdown. It is too bad because the idea is a good one- but the actual execution is a failure. As I sit here writing this post, my stomach is punishing me for this meal selection. My bf ordered the fish tacos for his entree. The portion is large with 3 overstuffed fish tacos. The cod was cooked well and there was plenty in each taco. Too bad the side of tomatoes that comes with the dish was rancid. The third person in our party wanted to order the corned beef and cabbage but we were told that is only available on Sundays. Really? In an Irish Pub? So, she settled for the Shepherd' pie which I thought was solid. The service is friendly and reliable. So, although some of the offerings were less than stellar, I would still visit Keegan's Irish Pub again.

The veggie burger (I was with a couple of girls and got to try their fare too) was really good and the portabella fries were awesome, little wedges of wholesome goodness that may be good enough to write home about! The bass on tap is a bonus and the live music was entertaining. The wait staff left a little to be desired, very cute but I somehow ended up with a glass of wine on my tab by the end of the night, and I wasn't drinking wine! ...and I don't think I had drunk enough to forget buying someone a glass of wine...) The few things in my mind that keep it from a 5 star are a crowded layout and uncomfortable seating if you are not in a booth (luckily I was both times but did pop off to make "rounds" once or twice with others I got to know that night) it is a friendly place too! We've been playing trivia here for the last couple of weeks, and now that I have a few experiences under my belt, I can say with certainty that I rate it a . . . . meh. I have to echo Rick's earlier review that the venue does not cater to larger groups. Uncomfortable wood stools and high top tables comprise the majority of the seating, unless you have 2 or 3 people in your group, then you might be fortunate enough to score one of the few booths. Navigating through the establishment is an exercise in dodges, bumps and multiple apologies. Service is adequate, but the servers are easily flustered with a crowd (we had a certificate from a previous trivia win, and the waitress had no idea how to prorate $5 off of each of our tabs and with an exasperated sigh said that it would take her "more than 20 minutes" to figure out the process. Hmmmmmm.) There are a few shining star appetizers (the reuben eggrolls and beer cheese dip in particular.) This is a nice little place for small groups that are in no hurry, have no high expectations, and that present no complications (like gift certificates, or requests for separate checks.)

I ordered their Keegan's Chips (fried chips covered in melted blue cheese) to start and then their veggie melt. Both were perfectly prepared and delicious. My husband and I decided to try this place last night, a Friday...We arrived around 7pm and it was packed to the brim...We had a 45 min. wait for a table. Luckily we ran into someone we knew at the bar and I was given a seat. The bartenders are funny and entertaining. Lots of people knew each other at the bar. We were finally seated at one of those tall tables with the uncomfortable bar stools (no backs). The booth would be so much more comfortable but you had to have more than two in your party to rate one, I think. The place is very small. Very loud but lots of fun. I can't tell you how many times I was hit in the arm by a purse or someone waving their arms around to tell a story. By the time we received our food, the crowd had thinned out a bit. I would suggest that you go before 6pm or after 8pm...It was well worth the wait. We have actually been to Ireland twice and this was very similar to the many pubs there. My husband ordered the fish and chips. He said it was the best he had ever had in the states. I ordered the Bookmaker sandwich which was a French Dip piled high with beef. We each had a choice of one side. I chose the marinated mushrooms which were very tasty but chopped a little small for my taste. He had the french fries (chips). We will definitely go back to try more dishes. We thought the food prices were very reasonable. Our server was attentive and friendly. I understand that they are expanding to next door which will be great. In this economy when lots of restaurants are closing their doors, I think this says a lot. My fiance came here recently and told me he was pleasantly surprised. So after a long day at the pool, we came by for a good meal and cold drink. I started with a Harp and J with a Goose Island beer. We sat at the bar (typical for us), and watched the various games while we decided. Thankfully, the bartender was patient with us because neither one of us were in a decisive mood that day. Overall, she was a great server/bartender: attentive when necessary, but didn't hover too much or leave us hanging for extended periods of time. We started with the Portabella mushroom fries, which were excellent. Thinly sliced so the mushrooms weren't soggy, and the batter had good flavor. The horseradish sauce was also very flavorful, but wasn't necessary. I was happy eating the fries by themselves. Next time, we are getting the Irish Spring Rolls, which J got last time and said they were really good. We tried to branch out this time! We split the Shepherd's Pie for our entree. I haven't had one in a really long time (I ate a lot of the frozen ones from Trader Joe's in college), and don't recall the last pie I had that was made from scratch. Regardless, this pie was fantastic! We ate the whole thing. Perfectly seasoned, and a good amount of meat. I'd order it again! I'm keeping it at 4 stars because I still feel like I have more to explore at this place. There's a possibility I'll get bump it up to 5 stars after my next visit!

Giving this establishment one star is generous. Let me start with the staff: It has been a very long time since I have felt so unimportant/ my money is not desired. It took over 20 minutes to be acknowledged sitting at the bar with only 4 other patrons. Next they are completely out of a common alcohol... Vodka? What the... Then I place my order for food (refer to pic for description on fish and chips) and sweet tea. So here we go! My tea arrives and it tastes skunked and like a dirty rag (see other posts on this dirty rag issue, they are correct). Now my food arrives! Hands down this is absolutely the worst fish and chips I have ever eaten. Chewy and just dripping with grease to the point the tasteless breading became a soggy pile in the bottom of my basket to go along with my soggy fries and slaw (not good either). Even the tarter was very close to mayo with parsley. Ok, maybe that is a little harsh on the tarter sauce but my whole experience here was horrible! We should have just drove to Meehans. They have the best fish and chips in the greater Atlanta area! As for Keegans... Decent food and live music. Enjoyable for what is has to offer. Not a bad spot to grab some drinks with friends. Had the Angus sirloin beef and cheese sliders appetizer with fries. It comes with chopped lettuce, chopped onion, and chopped tomato on the side topped with 4 pickles. It's an irish pub, so it certainly serves the standard bar food. Nothing impressive, but it does the trick!

The first time we went i did give,5 starts we went during the week and our waitress was awesome. I wish I could remember her name. We started with the spinach dip and my husband and i split the meatloaf. The second time we went out waitress just acted like we were a hassle. It was a Saturday night but not even busy. Decent neighborhood bar that i go to when I'm in the mood to stay near the house and enjoy a few drinks with a meal. The food is pretty good with a few hit or miss nights but generally a good place to hang out. They also regularly have new beers to try. And a fairly compact menu. They even have a house ale which i have a strong suspicions is just Killians but it's still really good and exceptional inexpensive!

The worst. Is it the service? Lack of management? A incredibly slow kitchen? All of the above. Stay clear, especially on St Patrick's day. Keegan's Team - the table next to us left before their appetizer showed. We tried and amazingly after an hour the food showed up - cold. Fish and chips - not cooked all the way through, even after waiting an hour. The other food, luke warm at best. And here is the kicker, cheese dip with about 1/4 the chips you would expect. When asked for more, we were reminded of the wait. Ended up getting a few extra chips to finish the dip next door at a Mexican restaurant. Okay, so blame St Patrick's day. But that wasn't it. Sorry, you just weren't that busy. The kitchen and waitress should have been better. First time - last time, steer clear unless you just here for a beer. This is not even a one star experience!

Delicious food, professional staff. The manager took the time to welcome us for our first time here with a free appetizer. Live music started at 9. Only complaint was the gravy on the Bangers and Mash tasted like it was out of a jar. Other than that, the food was excellent and we will be back.

How good is Keegan's? The ancient Celts chiseled Keegan's St. Paddy's Day party in their calendar. Keegan's is easy to find. It is in a strip shopping center that faces Barrett. See the map on the right-hand side of Keegan's Yelp listing? Ignore it. It will take you to a residential area with very narrow streets and no easy way out, particularly if you started drinking BEFORE you reached Keegan's (a friend told me so). The first time I came was on a Thursday night. There was a country/folk band playing. It seemed a bit out-of-place in a pub, but the regulars applauded enthusiastically and really seemed to like them. (I prefer Celtic girl bands in Irish pubs, but that's just the way I roll). The service is terrific. The ladies are funny and make a genuine effort to get to know you. They offer a lot of good beers (including, of course, Guinness). The bartenders are pros. I often order a fairly uncommon drink (an Old Fashioned); they knock out great ones without opening Bartending for Dummies. The food is typical pub food, but very well-executed. The first time I was there, I had the meat loaf. How good can meat loaf be? I took a bite. At the same time I took a drink of Guinness, and on the TV's, my least-favorite quarterback got sacked. For a moment, I saw God. There is a weakness in the menu: the wings. I really like lemon-pepper wings. I have tried them three times here. The lemon pepper has been tasteless. Do I recommend? Highly. Will I go back? Yep. About 37 nanoseconds after I post this.

Cool pub. Went here last night for trivia, which was quite fun. The beer list was a lot shorter than I thought it would be. I tried a portobello fry, which one of my companions ordered, and I could have eaten those for a meal. They were so good! Everyone I was with had been to Keegan's many times before and all love the place. The Pub Chicken was recommended (even over the fish and chips), so that's what I ordered. It was pretty good. Two pan-seared chicken breasts were served with mashed potatoes and green beans. Everything was covered in butter. My tummy says yes, while my belly screams no. There was nothing wrong with my meal, but I expected more since it was recommended both by my companion and the menu. Boyfriend ordered the fish and chips, which was served with cole slaw and lemon caper tartar sauce. I have to say, the fish was beautiful, the fries and slaw were good, and the tartar sauce was really good. You could really taste the lemon. One of the guys ordered fish tacos, which he said were excellent. The service was great for the guys, not so great for me. All the servers were attractive girls in short shorts. My glass was empty way longer than the guys'. Our server even came over and looked at our table and before I could ask for more water, walked away. Whatever, I'm not the one that left the tip, so I guess she played her cards right. Service definitely could have been better. I couldn't tell you anything about an authentic Irish pub, so I won't go there in evaluating Keegan's authenticity. The place was decorated pretty cool, I guess. Only one unisex bathroom, which I imagine can get pretty crowded on the weekends. I would probably go back here. Three stars just because I didn't see anything special.

Still shocked and disappointed that we brought so much business to this place for a Saint Baldrick's event and even after asking one of the owners we got no donations from them. I will not be back and I'm telling everyone I know not to go. There are plenty of bars in this area that offer equivalent food and drink so stick with the ones that pay it forward and that's not Keegans.

I walked down here from my apartment with the awesome roomie just because I was feeling lazy and didn't want to cook and because neither one of us had ever been here before. We came on trivia night but didn't participate this time around. Good thing, too, because we were STUMPED! Anywho, we both ended up ordering the fish and chips, after we came from a St. Patrick's Day fish fry / G meet / grand opening of my friend's new auto shop the day before. We were both a bit disappointed, but I think it was only because we had some BOMB food the previous day. Service was off -- the waitress was always there when we didn't need anything and never there when we actually did; drinks were also never once topped off even though I drank all of my water (and that almost never happens.. just ask my friends!) This place was okay, especially because I remember this place has a coupon. Hooray for discounts!

I have had Keegan's food twice, once dining in and once as carry-out. The food here is delicious. It's fresh, homemade, and is unique. Our server could have visited our table a tad bit more, but the taste of the food made up for it. I highly recommend the Krispy Kreme bread pudding for dessert, just do yourself the favor and take the calories! Make sure you arrive at the restaurant promptly after you place your carry-out order, I was given a time frame and our food was room temperature when I checked the boxes in the car. All in all, this place is a winner winner chicken dinner for the Kennesaw community!

One of my fave places to go in Kennesaw. Try the Pub Chicken with double sauteed mushrooms for your sides. Just delicious and a big portion, so you'll have leftovers! Pretty good selection of delicious beers, as well.

Great Irish BAR! Good food, service and beers. Also has plenty of TV's and live music that can actually be enjoyable. I enjoy throwing darts here and relaxing outside on their patio during warm summer nights. Pros: Great atmosphere. Well managed and staffed. Pretty good Irish bar menu (not a restaurant but close). All around fun place to just hang out. Dogs allowed in patio area!!! I'm the guy with the British Bull dogs. Cons: Can be a little expensive and very loud.

I have been coming here for more than a year now and must say that if you are looking for a nice "pub" then this is your place. Everyone here will try to get to know your name and will remember you upon your return. There are many regulars here and are quite fun to get to know. Between the live music and trivia nights accompanied by nightly food and drink specials, you will always feel welcomed as you walk in. You can even bring the family if you like. This place offers a more decent atmosphere for the family than the "family oriented" Hooters for sure. If you want (cr)Applebee's AND "like" that kind of place, I suggest you go there. If you want a warm and inviting atmosphere, decent service, consistent food preparation, bartenders who KNOW how to pull a pint of beer or build your favorite cocktail, and folks who will get to know you, then this is your place. Take advantage of it's friendly staff, Celtic motif, and soccer on the tube, and I guarantee you will be satisfied.

I want to say the main issue is because the beer list could be equivalent to if not less than a applebee's or a red lobster. This could have been a 4 star review for the ambiance of a nice local Irish Pub with a good beer selection, bla, bla, bla... But after too many bad food experiences I gotta pull 2 stars away. French Onion soup should be rich but not like drinking a moist bullion cube..gimme some juice baby!!! Grilled means "Grilled" not toasted bread with hot innards. And I would NEVER serve a Black and Tan or a Half and Half that didn't layer. Rise above mediocrity!!!! Try harder!!! (...and please go out of your way to put more soccer -- futbol -- on your TV's. I like golf, but watching it is about as exciting as watching paint dry. Soccer! MLS! Goal TV!!!)

I've visited Keegan's quite a few times and each time its been a great experience. I've always been a huge fan of the English/ Irish Pub type bar/ restaurant. I found the food selection to be pretty authentic with a good selection of international beers & adult beverages. Years ago I was a frequent patron and supporter of McColgan's Irish Public House in Alpharetta on State Bridge Rd. & Kimball Bridge Rd. To my friends and I this was as authentic an Irish Pub you could find anywhere in Atlanta. Once McColgan's closed I found Loafing Leprechaun in both Duluth & Alpharetta. Loafing continued the authentic feel of a great pub. Now that both establishments are long gone, Keegan's is by far one of the better places to enjoy an ice cold pint and some traditional Irish food. I have to agree with several comments of those who already posted there thoughts on Keegan's.On rare occasions, it has taken longer than normal to get our food orders out. Took excessive time to get our order but worth the wait. Also had a great St. Party's Day celebration.

Based on my current experience I have to give this place a low score. I have been here several time over the past few years. The beer selection is always good. The service is usually good. The food is a little inconsistent but the last few times it has been quite good. The decor is basically consistent with an Irish pub but there are tons of miller and bud signs along side of the Guinness and Harp signs. When there is live music, it has been good but not very Irish. When there's no live entertainment, the music is selected by the patrons on one of those internet connected juke boxes. All this detracts from the feeling that this is an authentic Irish Pub. On top of that, today was particularly bad due to the large group of over served and obnoxious regulars. Our waitress said "they're here all the time; they think they own the place." When we arrived I saw these people at the bar and felt some animosity in the stares they gave us as we waited to be greeted. We were told to sit wherever we liked so we selected a both across from the bar. Shortly after we arrived another patron got up and left giving my wife a commiserating smile and a roll of the eyes. They were loudly, and badly, singing along to the songs they had selected on the juke box. They would all yell at the top of their lungs for no apparent reason and whenever they took a shot one of them would whistle an ear piercing screech. They clearly thought everyone in the bar wanted to watch their drunken antics. My wife and I left as soon as we completed our meals. We probably would have hung out and had another beer or three if it had not been for those obnoxious jerks. No matter how often a few regulars come, they can't make up for the number of patrons they drive off because of behavior like that.

A nice place to sit and have a beer or two and to satisfy your Banger's and Mash craving. A group of us went here for the first time to play some team trivia (Monday nights at 7:30) and while not a large or lavishly decorated pub, it has a warm, homey feel to it. There isnt a lot of seating for large groups (We had 12 people) and we were a little tight, but next time we are going to grab a few tables in the open area and it should alleviate the people crunch. I tried the Bangers and Mash which was pretty good but seeing as how I have never had it in England or Ireland I have no baseline to compare it to. With that said, the fish and chips looks pretty good as well and they have several beers that, for $3.00 a glass, arent a bad deal. The servers there are relatively friendly and do what they can to make it an enjoyable experience. The men's room is a little on the small side, but they have another restroom that is a little larger that is unisex. Im going to be heading back to check out some of the other offerings on the menu as well as some of the additional beers but I dont anticipate being too disappointed.

I've gone here twice can honestly say it's one of the best pubs I've been to. The first time I went there was with my mother and we decided to go there on a whim; needless to say, it was one of the better decisions either of us have made in a while. First off, it looks and feels like a true irish pub; not an american style bar moonlighting as a irish pub. It was a bit loud, but that's to be expected when your at a pub on a saturday. But overall, it's a really cool looking place. Now onto the best part, the food. I ordered the deluxe grilled cheese and my mother had the shepherd's pie. My sandwich came with a cup of tomato bisque (which was good) and the sandwich itself was pretty darn good (who knew that bbq pork, mac n' cheese, and caramelized onions on a grilled cheese sandwich would taste soo good). My mom really liked the shepherd's pie although it's not an authentic shepherd's pie; but that's just being picky lol. The second time we went was on a friday and it was better than the first visit. I ordered the same sandwich (because it was soo good that I had to have it again lol) and my mom ordered the open faced pot roast sandwich. My sandwich was better than last time becaused of a couple things done with it that wasn't done the first time around. This time the pork was actually shredded (the last time it was cubed in large chunks) and covered in a bbq sauce (which was left off the first time); these little differences made the sandwich WAY better than the first time I had it. My mom's pot roast sandwich came with mashed potatoes and both were covered in brown gravy; she loved everything, especially the beef itself (which I tried a piece of and can tell you it was awesome); but she said that it was a little salty and I can agree with that statement as well. All in all, this place is great and is my go to irish pub. If your looking for a pub with great food and atmosphere, this is the place for you and I will be going back soon.

I love Keegan's. Their pub-style food is good quality, not too greasy, and reasonably priced. The atmosphere is nice, too-- a little darker at night, lit up with candles and TVs, but brighter during the day with the light coming through the windows. Great place to catch any game you want to watch, and great service, as well. I recommend the tuna burger! Soo good, and the mashed potatoes side is delicious.

I've been here several times. Overall, i like the food and really enjoy the beer selection. Over half of my visits have been for lunch and i have enjoyed those - good food, decent service. However, my last few visits have been in the evenings and my last visit was during trivia night. The service was non-existent, our waiter disappeared and never offered an update on the status of our food. About the only thing he did correctly was keep my pint full. When the food arrived around an hour after we ordered, it was poorly assembled and not up to the usual quality that i've experienced at Keegan's. As we were leaving, we noticed that the kitchen door was propped open with a chair and the kitchen staff had quite a few guests milling around. This place has 5 star potential, but unless the owners jack up the service and pay attention to what's going on in the kitchen, good Irish beer isn't going to be enough to keep the doors open.

Having been to Keegan's Irish Pub about 3 times now, I have mixed feelings about it. On one hand, Keegan's is a charming pub, with friendly staff and a decent out door patio. But on the other hand, it seems to be lacking in the food department. As far as the crowd, Keegan's seems to be a mix of young and older, very different from the crowd at Bailey's up the street which is mostly young and rowdy college kids. On my most recent visit, food seemed promising but ultimately was somewhat of a disappointment. Two of us out of our party of three began with a cup of the Mulligan's stew. This stew is a mixture of lamb, onions, potatoes and carrots. It is pretty hearty and a cup offers a generous portion of lamb. And at $3.95 per cup it is a great value. You can also get a bowl for $6. If you visit, don't miss this. So far so good. I wanted to go with something small as the stew was pretty filling, so I ordered the Irish Egg rolls. Unlike traditional egg rolls, these are wontons filled with cabbage, swiss cheese and corned beef. They also come with thousand island dipping dressing on the side. What a mistake it was to get these! I would tell you how the corned beef tasted but I can't because the tiny specs they put in there were dwarfed by the cabbage and swiss cheese. Although the wonton was crispy, the lack of corned beef left the eggroll unbalanced and was a huge letdown. It is too bad because the idea is a good one- but the actual execution is a failure. As I sit here writing this post, my stomach is punishing me for this meal selection. My bf ordered the fish tacos for his entree. The portion is large with 3 overstuffed fish tacos. The cod was cooked well and there was plenty in each taco. Too bad the side of tomatoes that comes with the dish was rancid. The third person in our party wanted to order the corned beef and cabbage but we were told that is only available on Sundays. Really? In an Irish Pub? So, she settled for the Shepherd' pie which I thought was solid. The service is friendly and reliable. So, although some of the offerings were less than stellar, I would still visit Keegan's Irish Pub again.

Overpriced, slow service. If you want to feel like an Irish frat boy, go right ahead. Shepherd's pie had instant mashed potatoes on top and the inside tasted like taco meat. Fried haddock sandwich - fish was ok, but it came on way too much bread so I finally took it out. Won't go back.

I have been here twice now, the first time was just drinks and fun, this time I actually tried the food, it was much better than I expected. The veggie burger (I was with a couple of girls and got to try their fare too) was really good and the portabella fries were awesome, little wedges of wholesome goodness that may be good enough to write home about! The bass on tap is a bonus and the live music was entertaining. The wait staff left a little to be desired, very cute but I somehow ended up with a glass of wine on my tab by the end of the night, and I wasn't drinking wine! ...and I don't think I had drunk enough to forget buying someone a glass of wine...) The few things in my mind that keep it from a 5 star are a crowded layout and uncomfortable seating if you are not in a booth (luckily I was both times but did pop off to make "rounds" once or twice with others I got to know that night) it is a friendly place too! There are a lot of things I really like about this pub. First, conservative signage placed right over the door in Gaelic font like a traditional Irish pub.. That is something you look for; it means they are trying to get it right. Sports on the TV but the sound system is playing Irish music. Irish fare on the menu. Red headed colleen takes our order. This is promising. The food was great as was the service. The pub has a nice warm feel. They also follow European football. One complaint. Irish coffee came to the table lukewarm with no pizazz. Frankly, I just need the coffee and the whiskey but usually you see whipped cream or sugar on the rim. They make it the way I do- except I make it hot- but gf likes more creaminess as do most people, I think. Here is a quote supporting that view: Only Irish coffee provides in a single glass all four essential food groups: alcohol, caffeine, sugar, and fat. - Alex Levine This pub is making a good effort to maintain it's identity as an Irish pub while doing the things they feel they have to do to keep the young crowd coming in- bar bingo, team trivia, and cover artists. This place is a TRUE public house with a great atmosphere, wonderful spirits, true Celtic fare, and incredible service. I tend to frequent "pubs" or "public houses", and lately, most have turned out to be skanky bars or bad restaurants, but this place is the real deal. I highly recommend Keegans for a great time.

I saw this cute little pub from the road and decided to get a drink before going out last night. The bartender was such a sweetheart. Although, the crowd wasn't quite what I expected, being a young girl at 23 most of the ppl were in their 30's, it was a really nice bar. I also sampled their chips with blue cheese and it was absolutely amazing!

I was in the area and decided to stop and try this place out. Very happy I did! It's a nice cozy bar with a handful of regulars. I loved how the outside patio is attached to the bar so you can have the option of sitting at the bar either in or out. The Guinness was poured so well I was afraid to drink it. Started off with the blarney chips. The Harp lager cheese dip that was on it was wonderful. The chicken was properly shredded and very tasty. I barely saved any room for the bookmaker sandwich I had ordered. The roast beef was tender and moist. Not over cooked like some places. The fish and chips were also good. Next time I will have to try the Krispy Kreme bread pudding. Overall I appreciated the laid back vibe that Keegan's gave off. Prices weren't too bad. You can expect to pay Taco Mac prices for the beers only get better quality. Definitely will be back.

We've been playing trivia here for the last couple of weeks, and now that I have a few experiences under my belt, I can say with certainty that I rate it a . . . . meh. I have to echo Rick's earlier review that the venue does not cater to larger groups. Uncomfortable wood stools and high top tables comprise the majority of the seating, unless you have 2 or 3 people in your group, then you might be fortunate enough to score one of the few booths. Navigating through the establishment is an exercise in dodges, bumps and multiple apologies. Service is adequate, but the servers are easily flustered with a crowd (we had a certificate from a previous trivia win, and the waitress had no idea how to prorate $5 off of each of our tabs and with an exasperated sigh said that it would take her "more than 20 minutes" to figure out the process. Hmmmmmm.) There are a few shining star appetizers (the reuben eggrolls and beer cheese dip in particular.) This is a nice little place for small groups that are in no hurry, have no high expectations, and that present no complications (like gift certificates, or requests for separate checks.)

I am not normally one to give 5 stars, but I was completely surprised by how good the food is here. I ordered their Keegan's Chips (fried chips covered in melted blue cheese) to start and then their veggie melt. Both were perfectly prepared and delicious. My husband and I decided to try this place last night, a Friday...We arrived around 7pm and it was packed to the brim...We had a 45 min. wait for a table. Luckily we ran into someone we knew at the bar and I was given a seat. The bartenders are funny and entertaining. Lots of people knew each other at the bar. We were finally seated at one of those tall tables with the uncomfortable bar stools (no backs). The booth would be so much more comfortable but you had to have more than two in your party to rate one, I think. The place is very small. Very loud but lots of fun. I can't tell you how many times I was hit in the arm by a purse or someone waving their arms around to tell a story. By the time we received our food, the crowd had thinned out a bit. I would suggest that you go before 6pm or after 8pm...It was well worth the wait. We have actually been to Ireland twice and this was very similar to the many pubs there. My husband ordered the fish and chips. He said it was the best he had ever had in the states. I ordered the Bookmaker sandwich which was a French Dip piled high with beef. We each had a choice of one side. I chose the marinated mushrooms which were very tasty but chopped a little small for my taste. He had the french fries (chips). We will definitely go back to try more dishes. We thought the food prices were very reasonable. Our server was attentive and friendly. I understand that they are expanding to next door which will be great. In this economy when lots of restaurants are closing their doors, I think this says a lot. Provide tasty food at reasonable prices with good service and the people will come...

I visited from out of town over St. Patrick's Day weekend. This place was so festive! They even had tables and a tent set up outside for overflow, plus there is nice outside seating. Great place. The staff, primarily all female, were so nice and helpful. I ordered a simple sandwich, salad and wine. Pretty big portions, but really great quality. I met some nice people at the bar. Overall, great atmosphere and great staff.

Wow really.....so the services SUCKED and when a waitress FINALLY walked by (literally tried to walk by like we didn't exist) I had to stop her and basically beg for food and she was so bummed that she had to...wait for it....WORK! Crazy I know! So the dip wasn't great but it wasn't horrible either it was basically something you can't F UP. The sweet tea on the other hand tasted like it was brewed a week prior with used teabags that were placed in an old mans dirty socks which a skunk proceeded to wife its ass with and then used for brewing that tea! It only took one sip to change to a soda and also only one sip to make my stomach have pain like the alien movie when the woman gives birth to the alien....sooo that was awesome ! And of course they were out of some eddy a vodka lemonade or whatever it's called! How are you out of a main source or liquor it's like A Chinese food restaurant being out of rice or a Mexican restaurant being out of Salsa WTF. So that happened and I will not be going back there unless I'm constipated then maybe I will go order a sweet tea to go but call ahead so I only have to wait an hour

We've been looking for an authentic style English/Irish pub on our side of town for a few years now. Every so often, the craving for fish and chips with a good ale or stout hits us and usually we need to travel well over to the other side of town in order to satisfy this fixation. We discovered Keegan's a little while back but never actually made the effort to dine there. This past week was our first time. The inside of the restaurant has a great feel. The bar area is separated from an additional dining area in the back, so if the bar is crowded, due to running one of its many specials during the week, one can dine away from all of the noise, if one so chooses. We decided to have a stout (only $4 on Thursday) and started the meal off with the sample appetizer. The plate comes with "Irish wontons" (wraps of corned beef, cabbage and Swiss cheese), beef or chicken sliders, and buffalo wings. The Irish wontons were simply amazing, but everything on the platter was delicious as well. For our entrees, my wife and son had the fish and chips (Cod fried in traditional English style), while I had the slightly more exotic Finnegan's Fry (Haddock fried in a beer batter). The lemon caper tartar sauce that came with both dishes was absolutely out of this world! I was impressed by the good prices, quantity and quality of the food. The service was outstanding as well. While not all of the dishes on the menu are strictly "authentic", I cannot recommend Keegan's highly enough. It was a fantastic experience that we intend to repeat again and again.

Half Irish pub, half sports bar. They have a bunch of TV's tuned to the usual sporting events. With some tables outside that are great for a nice day, on the inside half of the place is set up as a bar with booths and the other half is booths and tables. On the beer menu, the usual Guinness and Harp but also a Keegan's Red and then the usual mass-produced American beers. The food menu has things that don't belong in an Irish pub unless you're in the United States - fish tacos and a turkey burger for instance. I missed the Sunday brunch hours, so my dinner was a plate of meatloaf that was served on top of mashed potatoes. Surprisingly good, but I really wanted a Sunday roast sort of thing. I've heard great things about their bread pudding, but I wasn't in a dessert mood. Maybe next time. Important note: The map pin might be off just a touch. It's actually facing Ernest Barrett Parkway. Don't get onto Cobb Parkway and try navigating through a residential neighborhood!

I do find myself craving those Irish Spring Rolls which I am sure would be excellent paired with a tall glass of beer. So to that.. I will surely return.

It's a pub with pub food and good beer. the food was okay, the service was nice if just a little slow, and the place had that sour milk smell you get when the tables are wiped with dirty rags. not sure i'll go back since I don't go out drinking and the food was not good enough to warrant another visit.

I was expecting irish music or atleast UK based artists but what i got was top 40 junk. we eventually found it this was because they were having Bar Bingo that night so the Bingomaster was playing tunes from his laptop. I guess thats ok, i'll just have to go back and see if the music gets better. The staff was friendly but not terribly quick which i guess should be expected of a pub type place. We orded some beers and a couple of waters and they were out fast enough. i really can't complain to much about this since it gave us some times to play Bingo. The food was awesome. I had the Irish breakfast. Fried eggs, sausage, bacon, potatos, baked beans and toast. it was a lot of food and it was all great. The wife had a cheeseburger since she isn't the most adventerous and our friend had a steak sandwich. I didn't try the sandwich but the burger was great if messy. i think i'm going to try to head back out there when i know they'll have a football (soccer) game on and i can sit outside. I have really high hopes for this place and can't wait to try it again.

Stopped in here with the hubs on a random Saturday. I ordered a Stella, hubs had Killians. They were lovely, cold pints! We shared a sampler appetizer that had sliders, Irish spring rolls and wings, and also split a reuben sandwich. The food was just OK; perhaps we should have gone for the bangers and mash or the fish and chips. I would definitely go back, but probably wouldn't come hungry...just thirsty!

Keegan's has settled into the neighborhood after a couple of years with a comfort/pub menu and plentiful beers on tap to delight casual drinkers and munchers. My husband and I hosted a After Wedding Rehearsal Dinner Party for our son and his bride to be over the Memorial Weekend. From the moment I contacted this particular Keegan's to set up the event, the Manager could not have been more accommodating. We met with him a month out to discuss the menu. He made recommendations that would fit our budget and please our guest. The evening itself came off perfectly. The wait staff were friendly, professional and efficient. All in all a delightful choice.

When it comes to Irish pub-style restaurants, I generally rate my experience based on overall ambiance and by how well they execute two important menu staples: a pint of Guinness, and a full Irish Breakfast. Keegan's does a pretty good job at both but its breakfast pales in comparison to the one served up at Atlanta competitor Meehan's. As for the Guinness, mine was properly poured and promptly served. Bonus--on Thursdays all draft beers are $3/each, Guinness included! This makes Keegan's a great place to pop in for a pint. The Irish Breakfast was generously portioned, tasty and mostly well cooked. It consists of bangers, rashers, two eggs any style, baked beans and a potato/pepper hash. It's a lot of food. The bangers were perfectly textured and juicy, although the rashers were a bit rubbery and unremarkable. Where this presentation really lags behind Meehan's is with the inclusion of toast (vs. soda bread) and the complete omission of black & white pudding. To me, those are two hallmarks of a full Irish Breakfast and their conspicuous absence at Keegan's is a let-down. I also sampled the traditional Reuben sandwich and it was disappointing. The corned beef was chewy and lacked much flavor, giving the entire sandwich an odd and unpleasant consistency. It's described on the menu as "grilled lean corned beef" so maybe that preparation is just not ideal for a Reuben sandwich. While we dined at around 8:00 on a Thursday, a musician set up and began playing his guitar. He sang a song by Jack Johnson and then one by John Mayer before we left. It seemed like odd music for a pub, and I didn't particularly enjoy it. But it's nice that Keegan's invites local musicians to come in and play. I would stop in again at Keegan's for a pint (or several), but would probably choose to eat elsewhere in the future.

My fiance came here recently and told me he was pleasantly surprised. So after a long day at the pool, we came by for a good meal and cold drink. I started with a Harp and J with a Goose Island beer. We sat at the bar (typical for us), and watched the various games while we decided. Thankfully, the bartender was patient with us because neither one of us were in a decisive mood that day. Overall, she was a great server/bartender: attentive when necessary, but didn't hover too much or leave us hanging for extended periods of time. We started with the Portabella mushroom fries, which were excellent. Thinly sliced so the mushrooms weren't soggy, and the batter had good flavor. The horseradish sauce was also very flavorful, but wasn't necessary. I was happy eating the fries by themselves. Next time, we are getting the Irish Spring Rolls, which J got last time and said they were really good. We tried to branch out this time! We split the Shepherd's Pie for our entree. I haven't had one in a really long time (I ate a lot of the frozen ones from Trader Joe's in college), and don't recall the last pie I had that was made from scratch. Regardless, this pie was fantastic! We ate the whole thing. Perfectly seasoned, and a good amount of meat. I'd order it again! I'm keeping it at 4 stars because I still feel like I have more to explore at this place. There's a possibility I'll get bump it up to 5 stars after my next visit!

Giving this establishment one star is generous. Let me start with the staff: It has been a very long time since I have felt so unimportant/ my money is not desired. It took over 20 minutes to be acknowledged sitting at the bar with only 4 other patrons. Next they are completely out of a common alcohol... Vodka? What the... Then I place my order for food (refer to pic for description on fish and chips) and sweet tea. So here we go! My tea arrives and it tastes skunked and like a dirty rag (see other posts on this dirty rag issue, they are correct). Now my food arrives! Hands down this is absolutely the worst fish and chips I have ever eaten. Chewy and just dripping with grease to the point the tasteless breading became a soggy pile in the bottom of my basket to go along with my soggy fries and slaw (not good either). Even the tarter was very close to mayo with parsley. Ok, maybe that is a little harsh on the tarter sauce but my whole experience here was horrible! We should have just drove to Meehans. They have the best fish and chips in the greater Atlanta area! As for Keegans... Keep treating your customers this way and you will eventually find that they all moved onto establishments that care about their customers! Definitely my last visit...

There are a lot of things I really like about this pub. First, conservative signage placed right over the door in Gaelic font like a traditional Irish pub.. That is something you look for; it means they are trying to get it right. Sports on the TV but the sound system is playing Irish music. Irish fare on the menu. Red headed colleen takes our order. This is promising. The food was great as was the service. The pub has a nice warm feel. They also follow European football. One complaint. Irish coffee came to the table lukewarm with no pizazz. Frankly, I just need the coffee and the whiskey but usually you see whipped cream or sugar on the rim. They make it the way I do- except I make it hot- but gf likes more creaminess as do most people, I think. Here is a quote supporting that view: Only Irish coffee provides in a single glass all four essential food groups: alcohol, caffeine, sugar, and fat. - Alex Levine This pub is making a good effort to maintain it's identity as an Irish pub while doing the things they feel they have to do to keep the young crowd coming in- bar bingo, team trivia, and cover artists. The first time we went i did give,5 starts we went during the week and our waitress was awesome. I wish I could remember her name. We started with the spinach dip and my husband and i split the meatloaf. The second time we went out waitress just acted like we were a hassle. It was a Saturday night but not even busy. She just all around had a bad attitude. Still,tipped over 20 percent because that's the people we are.maybe she just had a bad day...

Decent food and live music. Enjoyable for what is has to offer. Not a bad spot to grab some drinks with friends. Had the Angus sirloin beef and cheese sliders appetizer with fries. It comes with chopped lettuce, chopped onion, and chopped tomato on the side topped with 4 pickles. It's an irish pub, so it certainly serves the standard bar food. Nothing impressive, but it does the trick!

The worst. Is it the service? Lack of management? A incredibly slow kitchen? All of the above. Stay clear, especially on St Patrick's day. Keegan's Team - the table next to us left before their appetizer showed. We tried and amazingly after an hour the food showed up - cold. Fish and chips - not cooked all the way through, even after waiting an hour. The other food, luke warm at best. And here is the kicker, cheese dip with about 1/4 the chips you would expect. When asked for more, we were reminded of the wait. Ended up getting a few extra chips to finish the dip next door at a Mexican restaurant. Okay, so blame St Patrick's day. But that wasn't it. Sorry, you just weren't that busy. The kitchen and waitress should have been better. First time - last time, steer clear unless you just here for a beer. This is not even a one star experience!

Great Irish BAR! Good food, service and beers. Also has plenty of TV's and live music that can actually be enjoyable. I enjoy throwing darts here and relaxing outside on their patio during warm summer nights. Pros: Great atmosphere. Well managed and staffed. Pretty good Irish bar menu (not a restaurant but close). All around fun place to just hang out. Dogs allowed in patio area!!! I'm the guy with the British Bull dogs. Cons: Can be a little expensive and very loud.

I've visited Keegan's quite a few times and each time its been a great experience. I've always been a huge fan of the English/ Irish Pub type bar/ restaurant. I found the food selection to be pretty authentic with a good selection of international beers & adult beverages. Years ago I was a frequent patron and supporter of McColgan's Irish Public House in Alpharetta on State Bridge Rd. & Kimball Bridge Rd. To my friends and I this was as authentic an Irish Pub you could find anywhere in Atlanta. Once McColgan's closed I found Loafing Leprechaun in both Duluth & Alpharetta. Loafing continued the authentic feel of a great pub. Now that both establishments are long gone, Keegan's is by far one of the better places to enjoy an ice cold pint and some traditional Irish food. I have to agree with several comments of those who already posted there thoughts on Keegan's.On rare occasions, it has taken longer than normal to get our food orders out. Took excessive time to get our order but worth the wait. Also had a great St. Party's Day celebration.

Based on my current experience I have to give this place a low score. I have been here several time over the past few years. The beer selection is always good. The service is usually good. The food is a little inconsistent but the last few times it has been quite good. The decor is basically consistent with an Irish pub but there are tons of miller and bud signs along side of the Guinness and Harp signs. When there is live music, it has been good but not very Irish. When there's no live entertainment, the music is selected by the patrons on one of those internet connected juke boxes. All this detracts from the feeling that this is an authentic Irish Pub. On top of that, today was particularly bad due to the large group of over served and obnoxious regulars. Our waitress said "they're here all the time; they think they own the place." When we arrived I saw these people at the bar and felt some animosity in the stares they gave us as we waited to be greeted. We were told to sit wherever we liked so we selected a both across from the bar. Shortly after we arrived another patron got up and left giving my wife a commiserating smile and a roll of the eyes. They were loudly, and badly, singing along to the songs they had selected on the juke box. They would all yell at the top of their lungs for no apparent reason and whenever they took a shot one of them would whistle an ear piercing screech. They clearly thought everyone in the bar wanted to watch their drunken antics. My wife and I left as soon as we completed our meals. We probably would have hung out and had another beer or three if it had not been for those obnoxious jerks. No matter how often a few regulars come, they can't make up for the number of patrons they drive off because of behavior like that.

My go to place for pub food. Service is great, atmosphere feels authentic (from someone who has never been to Ireland) and the food is real! The tomato bisque and grilled cheese is comfort food at its best. Check yes for 420 draft!

How good is Keegan's? The ancient Celts chiseled Keegan's St. Paddy's Day party in their calendar. Keegan's is easy to find. It is in a strip shopping center that faces Barrett. See the map on the right-hand side of Keegan's Yelp listing? Ignore it. It will take you to a residential area with very narrow streets and no easy way out, particularly if you started drinking BEFORE you reached Keegan's (a friend told me so). The first time I came was on a Thursday night. There was a country/folk band playing. It seemed a bit out-of-place in a pub, but the regulars applauded enthusiastically and really seemed to like them. (I prefer Celtic girl bands in Irish pubs, but that's just the way I roll). The service is terrific. The ladies are funny and make a genuine effort to get to know you. They offer a lot of good beers (including, of course, Guinness). The bartenders are pros. I often order a fairly uncommon drink (an Old Fashioned); they knock out great ones without opening Bartending for Dummies. The food is typical pub food, but very well-executed. The first time I was there, I had the meat loaf. How good can meat loaf be? I took a bite. At the same time I took a drink of Guinness, and on the TV's, my least-favorite quarterback got sacked. For a moment, I saw God. There is a weakness in the menu: the wings. I really like lemon-pepper wings. I have tried them three times here. The lemon pepper has been tasteless. Do I recommend? Highly. Will I go back? Yep. About 37 nanoseconds after I post this.

Cool pub. Went here last night for trivia, which was quite fun. The beer list was a lot shorter than I thought it would be. I tried a portobello fry, which one of my companions ordered, and I could have eaten those for a meal. They were so good! Everyone I was with had been to Keegan's many times before and all love the place. The Pub Chicken was recommended (even over the fish and chips), so that's what I ordered. It was pretty good. Two pan-seared chicken breasts were served with mashed potatoes and green beans. Everything was covered in butter. My tummy says yes, while my belly screams no. There was nothing wrong with my meal, but I expected more since it was recommended both by my companion and the menu. Boyfriend ordered the fish and chips, which was served with cole slaw and lemon caper tartar sauce. I have to say, the fish was beautiful, the fries and slaw were good, and the tartar sauce was really good. You could really taste the lemon. One of the guys ordered fish tacos, which he said were excellent. The service was great for the guys, not so great for me. All the servers were attractive girls in short shorts. My glass was empty way longer than the guys'. Our server even came over and looked at our table and before I could ask for more water, walked away. Whatever, I'm not the one that left the tip, so I guess she played her cards right. Service definitely could have been better. I couldn't tell you anything about an authentic Irish pub, so I won't go there in evaluating Keegan's authenticity. The place was decorated pretty cool, I guess. Only one unisex bathroom, which I imagine can get pretty crowded on the weekends. I would probably go back here. Three stars just because I didn't see anything special.

Still shocked and disappointed that we brought so much business to this place for a Saint Baldrick's event and even after asking one of the owners we got no donations from them. I will not be back and I'm telling everyone I know not to go. There are plenty of bars in this area that offer equivalent food and drink so stick with the ones that pay it forward and that's not Keegans.

I walked down here from my apartment with the awesome roomie just because I was feeling lazy and didn't want to cook and because neither one of us had ever been here before. We came on trivia night but didn't participate this time around. Good thing, too, because we were STUMPED! Anywho, we both ended up ordering the fish and chips, after we came from a St. Patrick's Day fish fry / G meet / grand opening of my friend's new auto shop the day before. We were both a bit disappointed, but I think it was only because we had some BOMB food the previous day. Service was off -- the waitress was always there when we didn't need anything and never there when we actually did; drinks were also never once topped off even though I drank all of my water (and that almost never happens.. just ask my friends!) This place was okay, especially because I remember this place has a coupon. Hooray for discounts!

I have had Keegan's food twice, once dining in and once as carry-out. The food here is delicious. It's fresh, homemade, and is unique. Our server could have visited our table a tad bit more, but the taste of the food made up for it. I highly recommend the Krispy Kreme bread pudding for dessert, just do yourself the favor and take the calories! Make sure you arrive at the restaurant promptly after you place your carry-out order, I was given a time frame and our food was room temperature when I checked the boxes in the car. All in all, this place is a winner winner chicken dinner for the Kennesaw community!

One of my fave places to go in Kennesaw. Try the Pub Chicken with double sauteed mushrooms for your sides. Just delicious and a big portion, so you'll have leftovers! Pretty good selection of delicious beers, as well.

My husband feels that the bread pudding here is the standard by which all other bread puddings should be measured. I am rather fond of it, but am hardly a bread pudding expert. Fab!

It's a pub with pub food and good beer. the food was okay, the service was nice if just a little slow, and the place had that sour milk smell you get when the tables are wiped with dirty rags. not sure i'll go back since I don't go out drinking and the food was not good enough to warrant another visit.

I've gone here twice can honestly say it's one of the best pubs I've been to. The first time I went there was with my mother and we decided to go there on a whim; needless to say, it was one of the better decisions either of us have made in a while. First off, it looks and feels like a true irish pub; not an american style bar moonlighting as a irish pub. It was a bit loud, but that's to be expected when your at a pub on a saturday. But overall, it's a really cool looking place. Now onto the best part, the food. I ordered the deluxe grilled cheese and my mother had the shepherd's pie. My sandwich came with a cup of tomato bisque (which was good) and the sandwich itself was pretty darn good (who knew that bbq pork, mac n' cheese, and caramelized onions on a grilled cheese sandwich would taste soo good). My mom really liked the shepherd's pie although it's not an authentic shepherd's pie; but that's just being picky lol. The second time we went was on a friday and it was better than the first visit. I ordered the same sandwich (because it was soo good that I had to have it again lol) and my mom ordered the open faced pot roast sandwich. My sandwich was better than last time becaused of a couple things done with it that wasn't done the first time around. This time the pork was actually shredded (the last time it was cubed in large chunks) and covered in a bbq sauce (which was left off the first time); these little differences made the sandwich WAY better than the first time I had it. My mom's pot roast sandwich came with mashed potatoes and both were covered in brown gravy; she loved everything, especially the beef itself (which I tried a piece of and can tell you it was awesome); but she said that it was a little salty and I can agree with that statement as well. All in all, this place is great and is my go to irish pub. If your looking for a pub with great food and atmosphere, this is the place for you and I will be going back soon.

I love Keegan's. Their pub-style food is good quality, not too greasy, and reasonably priced. The atmosphere is nice, too-- a little darker at night, lit up with candles and TVs, but brighter during the day with the light coming through the windows. Great place to catch any game you want to watch, and great service, as well. I recommend the tuna burger! Soo good, and the mashed potatoes side is delicious.

I've been here several times. Overall, i like the food and really enjoy the beer selection. Over half of my visits have been for lunch and i have enjoyed those - good food, decent service. However, my last few visits have been in the evenings and my last visit was during trivia night. The service was non-existent, our waiter disappeared and never offered an update on the status of our food. About the only thing he did correctly was keep my pint full. When the food arrived around an hour after we ordered, it was poorly assembled and not up to the usual quality that i've experienced at Keegan's. As we were leaving, we noticed that the kitchen door was propped open with a chair and the kitchen staff had quite a few guests milling around. This place has 5 star potential, but unless the owners jack up the service and pay attention to what's going on in the kitchen, good Irish beer isn't going to be enough to keep the doors open.

I have been coming here for more than a year now and must say that if you are looking for a nice "pub" then this is your place. Everyone here will try to get to know your name and will remember you upon your return. There are many regulars here and are quite fun to get to know. Between the live music and trivia nights accompanied by nightly food and drink specials, you will always feel welcomed as you walk in. You can even bring the family if you like. This place offers a more decent atmosphere for the family than the "family oriented" Hooters for sure. If you want (cr)Applebee's AND "like" that kind of place, I suggest you go there. If you want a warm and inviting atmosphere, decent service, consistent food preparation, bartenders who KNOW how to pull a pint of beer or build your favorite cocktail, and folks who will get to know you, then this is your place. Take advantage of it's friendly staff, Celtic motif, and soccer on the tube, and I guarantee you will be satisfied.

I really cant tell you personally why Im dropping the 3 bomb on keegan's. I wanted to like it, or even love it. I want to say the main issue is because the beer list could be equivalent to if not less than a applebee's or a red lobster. Any drinking establishment ,in my opinion, that has the word "PUB or Public house" should have an outrageous beer list.......... Good things

This could have been a 4 star review for the ambiance of a nice local Irish Pub with a good beer selection, bla, bla, bla... But after too many bad food experiences I gotta pull 2 stars away. French Onion soup should be rich but not like drinking a moist bullion cube..gimme some juice baby!!! Grilled means "Grilled" not toasted bread with hot innards. And I would NEVER serve a Black and Tan or a Half and Half that didn't layer. Rise above mediocrity!!!! Try harder!!! (...and please go out of your way to put more soccer -- futbol -- on your TV's. I like golf, but watching it is about as exciting as watching paint dry. Soccer! MLS! Goal TV!!!)

Stopped in here with the hubs on a random Saturday. I ordered a Stella, hubs had Killians. They were lovely, cold pints! We shared a sampler appetizer that had sliders, Irish spring rolls and wings, and also split a reuben sandwich. The food was just OK; perhaps we should have gone for the bangers and mash or the fish and chips. I would definitely go back, but probably wouldn't come hungry...just thirsty!

This place is a TRUE public house with a great atmosphere, wonderful spirits, true Celtic fare, and incredible service. I tend to frequent "pubs" or "public houses", and lately, most have turned out to be skanky bars or bad restaurants, but this place is the real deal. I highly recommend Keegans for a great time.

I was in the area and decided to stop and try this place out. Very happy I did! It's a nice cozy bar with a handful of regulars. I loved how the outside patio is attached to the bar so you can have the option of sitting at the bar either in or out. The Guinness was poured so well I was afraid to drink it. Started off with the blarney chips. The Harp lager cheese dip that was on it was wonderful. The chicken was properly shredded and very tasty. I barely saved any room for the bookmaker sandwich I had ordered. The roast beef was tender and moist. Not over cooked like some places. The fish and chips were also good. Next time I will have to try the Krispy Kreme bread pudding. Overall I appreciated the laid back vibe that Keegan's gave off. Prices weren't too bad. You can expect to pay Taco Mac prices for the beers only get better quality. Definitely will be back.

If you have not met the owner, Todd. He is always in there! One of the coolest people i have met and gotten to work with. Everything on the menu sounds delicious! The bookmaker is one of my favorite sandwhiches and there salads are good also! They usually have beer specials, so go check them out!

I saw this cute little pub from the road and decided to get a drink before going out last night. The bartender was such a sweetheart. Although, the crowd wasn't quite what I expected, being a young girl at 23 most of the ppl were in their 30's, it was a really nice bar. I also sampled their chips with blue cheese and it was absolutely amazing!

A nice place to sit and have a beer or two and to satisfy your Banger's and Mash craving. A group of us went here for the first time to play some team trivia (Monday nights at 7:30) and while not a large or lavishly decorated pub, it has a warm, homey feel to it. There isnt a lot of seating for large groups (We had 12 people) and we were a little tight, but next time we are going to grab a few tables in the open area and it should alleviate the people crunch. I tried the Bangers and Mash which was pretty good but seeing as how I have never had it in England or Ireland I have no baseline to compare it to. With that said, the fish and chips looks pretty good as well and they have several beers that, for $3.00 a glass, arent a bad deal. The servers there are relatively friendly and do what they can to make it an enjoyable experience. The men's room is a little on the small side, but they have another restroom that is a little larger that is unisex. Im going to be heading back to check out some of the other offerings on the menu as well as some of the additional beers but I dont anticipate being too disappointed.

Having been to Keegan's Irish Pub about 3 times now, I have mixed feelings about it. On one hand, Keegan's is a charming pub, with friendly staff and a decent out door patio. But on the other hand, it seems to be lacking in the food department. As far as the crowd, Keegan's seems to be a mix of young and older, very different from the crowd at Bailey's up the street which is mostly young and rowdy college kids. On my most recent visit, food seemed promising but ultimately was somewhat of a disappointment. Two of us out of our party of three began with a cup of the Mulligan's stew. This stew is a mixture of lamb, onions, potatoes and carrots. It is pretty hearty and a cup offers a generous portion of lamb. And at $3.95 per cup it is a great value. You can also get a bowl for $6. If you visit, don't miss this. So far so good. I wanted to go with something small as the stew was pretty filling, so I ordered the Irish Egg rolls. Unlike traditional egg rolls, these are wontons filled with cabbage, swiss cheese and corned beef. They also come with thousand island dipping dressing on the side. What a mistake it was to get these! I would tell you how the corned beef tasted but I can't because the tiny specs they put in there were dwarfed by the cabbage and swiss cheese. Although the wonton was crispy, the lack of corned beef left the eggroll unbalanced and was a huge letdown. It is too bad because the idea is a good one- but the actual execution is a failure. As I sit here writing this post, my stomach is punishing me for this meal selection. My bf ordered the fish tacos for his entree. The portion is large with 3 overstuffed fish tacos. The cod was cooked well and there was plenty in each taco. Too bad the side of tomatoes that comes with the dish was rancid. The third person in our party wanted to order the corned beef and cabbage but we were told that is only available on Sundays. Really? In an Irish Pub? So, she settled for the Shepherd' pie which I thought was solid. The service is friendly and reliable. So, although some of the offerings were less than stellar, I would still visit Keegan's Irish Pub again.

Overpriced, slow service. If you want to feel like an Irish frat boy, go right ahead. Shepherd's pie had instant mashed potatoes on top and the inside tasted like taco meat. Fried haddock sandwich - fish was ok, but it came on way too much bread so I finally took it out. Won't go back.

The veggie burger (I was with a couple of girls and got to try their fare too) was really good and the portabella fries were awesome, little wedges of wholesome goodness that may be good enough to write home about! The bass on tap is a bonus and the live music was entertaining. The wait staff left a little to be desired, very cute but I somehow ended up with a glass of wine on my tab by the end of the night, and I wasn't drinking wine! ...and I don't think I had drunk enough to forget buying someone a glass of wine...) The few things in my mind that keep it from a 5 star are a crowded layout and uncomfortable seating if you are not in a booth (luckily I was both times but did pop off to make "rounds" once or twice with others I got to know that night) it is a friendly place too! I'll go back =)

We've been playing trivia here for the last couple of weeks, and now that I have a few experiences under my belt, I can say with certainty that I rate it a . . . . meh. I have to echo Rick's earlier review that the venue does not cater to larger groups. Uncomfortable wood stools and high top tables comprise the majority of the seating, unless you have 2 or 3 people in your group, then you might be fortunate enough to score one of the few booths. Navigating through the establishment is an exercise in dodges, bumps and multiple apologies. Service is adequate, but the servers are easily flustered with a crowd (we had a certificate from a previous trivia win, and the waitress had no idea how to prorate $5 off of each of our tabs and with an exasperated sigh said that it would take her "more than 20 minutes" to figure out the process. Hmmmmmm.) There are a few shining star appetizers (the reuben eggrolls and beer cheese dip in particular.) This is a nice little place for small groups that are in no hurry, have no high expectations, and that present no complications (like gift certificates, or requests for separate checks.)

I am not normally one to give 5 stars, but I was completely surprised by how good the food is here. I ordered their Keegan's Chips (fried chips covered in melted blue cheese) to start and then their veggie melt. Both were perfectly prepared and delicious. I don't think I've had a sandwich that good, well for a very long time. I'll defiantly be coming back for more!

My husband and I decided to try this place last night, a Friday...We arrived around 7pm and it was packed to the brim...We had a 45 min. wait for a table. Luckily we ran into someone we knew at the bar and I was given a seat. The bartenders are funny and entertaining. Lots of people knew each other at the bar. We were finally seated at one of those tall tables with the uncomfortable bar stools (no backs). The booth would be so much more comfortable but you had to have more than two in your party to rate one, I think. The place is very small. Very loud but lots of fun. I can't tell you how many times I was hit in the arm by a purse or someone waving their arms around to tell a story. By the time we received our food, the crowd had thinned out a bit. I would suggest that you go before 6pm or after 8pm...It was well worth the wait. We have actually been to Ireland twice and this was very similar to the many pubs there. My husband ordered the fish and chips. He said it was the best he had ever had in the states. I ordered the Bookmaker sandwich which was a French Dip piled high with beef. We each had a choice of one side. I chose the marinated mushrooms which were very tasty but chopped a little small for my taste. He had the french fries (chips). We will definitely go back to try more dishes. We thought the food prices were very reasonable. Our server was attentive and friendly. I understand that they are expanding to next door which will be great. In this economy when lots of restaurants are closing their doors, I think this says a lot. Provide tasty food at reasonable prices with good service and the people will come...
