Never had a bad meal here! This is southern cooking at its finest. They are opened for lunch Monday thru Sat. And bring your appetite. The dine in is cafeteria style and that may not be for some people but doesn't bother me. You can also get your order to go or call it in and it will be waiting when you arrive... The wait staff will keep your glass full of tea or whatever your drinking and they are very friendly!

Just stopped on our way to St. Mary's on a fluke, saw a ton of cars and knew it must be good. Well, it was awesome. Everyone was so friendly, almost like the entire town turned out for a regular Saturday get-together. The food was fantastic.

Oh, my g-d!! I just had a trip down memory lane with a friend from the South tonight. I remembered this place. When I was in Jessup a couple years back a business associate took me here to "break me in" to Southern food. FABULOUS! I wish I could fly to Georgia just to eat here! If you truly want to weigh in at 700lbs and you have no self control... This IS the place! A memorable experience and certainly worth repeating. This was a high point in my Georgia experience!!!!!

I can't say enough good about jones kitchen. Absolutely offers the BEST home style food in the southeast. I lived in Jesup for 6 years and moved in 1983. Every visit my husband and I have to visit my mum and brothers, we look forward to dining there. One visit to the bar is more than enough for me but I enjoy watching some make a few more visits. If you are in the area, treat yourself.

One of "The Best" meat and vegetables buffets in the state of Georgia. Jones Kitchen is located in Jesup Georgia about a 45 minute drive from St Simons Island. I loved all the vegetables and the fried chicken was great. They have a couple of specialty items such as cracker salad that you need to try. The desserts were also very good. For $8.00 including tea, this is a steal. We will definitely be making this trip again real soon. I believe that are only open for lunch from 11 to 2.

Taking the time to explain every wonderful detail about the food put out by this buffet would take me longer than the time it took to eat it. It was close to a spiritual experience. The sweet potato pie seriously brought tears to my eyes. My friend and dining companion, who has been eating at Jones Kitchen since, "I dunno; forever" (her words) laughed at me, and said "I told-ja". This is southern cooking at its finest. Jones Kitchen is buffet only, and a very friendly staff. If you are anywhere near Jesup, GA, Jones Kitchen is a must.

I drive all over the state for work and eat at a lot of home cooking places. This is one of the best I've found, and one of the top two fried pork chops I've eaten in any restaurant. The batter is very tasty and is the same on the chicken. It's a buffet which matters to some but not me. Creamed corn was also delicious, as were the collards. Tea was sweet but not belly-achingly so. I travel this route pretty often and this place just jumped to the top of the list.

Jones Kitchen is the best country-cooking style Southern food I've had in my life. Now before you write me off as hyperbole, let me give you some background. I've lived in the South for a total of over 20 years. I've made it a point to eat at every Southern buffet I can get my hands on between Tallahassee, FL to Richmond, VA. In total, I've probably eaten at 60 or 70 different country cooking restaurants serving this style of cuisine. Jones Kitchen doesn't just match them, it beats them all, and is tied with The Wilkes House in Savannah, GA for sheer quality. So what about Jones Kitchen puts it head and shoulders ahead? Simply put, they source the freshest-possible ingredients and use the most time-proven recipes imaginable for each and every dish available on the buffet (which will run you $8, including drink). So if you're in the mood for Southern meats, you can go here and get the best fried chicken you've had anywhere. If you want veggies galore, take your choice of green beans, collards, mustards, turnips, fried and stewed okra, squash casserole, pinto beans, black-eyed peas, rutabagas, mac&cheese, and most everything will be the best incarnation of that item you've had. Simply incredible. So here's the thing for you Savannah residents - The Wilkes House is just as good. But because of tourists, you normally have to wait 1-2 hours in line to get into this place, and eat family style, and then watch the clock before they compel you to clean your table so that the next hguests can be seated. Alternatively, you could take the 1-hour drive down to Jesup, grab your plate, choose a seat at one of the long communal tables, and enjoy anonymity and take as much time as you want to savor each and every bite.

I love Southern food, and Jones Kitchen is the star of home style cooking. Lunchtime buffet was a little crowded on a Friday, as expected, but the attendant helped us find seating for two at one of the long communal tables. Had the best fried chicken I've ever had, but the fried catfish was even better. Salads and vegetables were all homestyle favorites cooked the way my grandma would have cooked them, if she was southern. Coleslaw and carrot salads were sweet and tangy. Sweet potatoes, pole beans, black-eyed peas, rutabaga, and collard greens were perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection - nut mushy. I only had room for sweet potato pie, which was an excellent choice - but I helped myself to the strawberry shortcake too. My husband loved the sweet potato pie - nice and sweet with a little something extra - maybe molasses? In Savannah, I prefer Mrs. Wilkes Boarding House to Lady & Sons. Jones Kitchen stole my heart today and is my new favorite over Mrs. Wilkes.
