I have to give 5 stars just for the burnt ends!!! So amazing in flavor and I rarely give 5 stars just because I feel there's always room for change. I always try and stop by for family meals to go back to Florida with me. While waiting on my order I enjoy looking at all the trophies and awards threw out the south for the great barbecue! Nice and friendly staff and They definitely aim to please the customers while you wait for your order. Nothing fancy inside the building but OMG the flavor is as fancy as it gets for smoked meats!! I'm very picky about my sauces too and I'm A fan of the sauce which is very important to any true barbque restaurant. I was born and raised in Georgia and this is a great place to enjoy true southern barbecue. Grab a bib and enjoy!!!!!

I'm a Bbq junkie, and this is the best I've ever eaten! I had to get some to go after dinner. Just wow!! May I also highly recommend the corn fritters. They are lightly breaded, sweet and entirely addictive. This place is a couple of hours away from my house, but I'll definitely go back.

Amazing brisket, burnt ends, ribs, Brunswick stew, and everything else we had. Perfectly cooked, and my entire family and friends said it was the most amazing barbecue they have ever had. I grew up in the south, and they are all northerners, so no surprise to me in their review. But I would put them up there with the best I've ever had, if not the best. Place isn't much to look at from the outside, but don't be deceived. Top notch. Period.

OMG! The food was so good that we ordered some to go. I would seriously consider driving the 6 hours back to this place just to get some burt ends. OMG!

Fantastic BBQ, great service, couldn't have asked for better. Try the fried okra it's wonderful. I had the pork plate, with two sides for $9.99. Can't beat the price.

Good BBQ. Nice staff. Good portions. I go there regularly.

It is really good pork. You should try their pork burrito. And plenty of home made sauce choices - sweet, hot, vinegar. I like to mix and match the sauces and create my own combination. Our son sampled their BabaQ in TN at a competition. They loved it. The next time they visited us in Jasper we just had to take them. Great, great food.

I've had better...the pork wasn't the worst I've had but the sides aren't so great.

Delicious barbeque. Great service. They have won many awards. Have 3 different barbeque sauces. Coleslaw was good. Great local establishment.

Weve been going there for years and we love the Bab-Ba-Q. The taste of the meat is great, very lean. Prices are creeping up a bit but still great quality food and sauces. My only problem is I can't seem to get their hours just right. I have showed up at their door only to find them closed. It is still the best BBQ in north Georgia.

Ive been searching for GOOD BBQ in the Elijay/Blue ridge area and have seriously come up short. everything in the area is just average. Bub A Q is by a long shot the best one in the area. i would not recommend trying to drive to scout camp and eating it at the same time. duh. This will be my BBQ spot going forward. I had the BBQ pork sammy and fries. The spicy BBQ sauce is phenom!

  • Evan I.

Incredible BBQ. Better brisket than I had anywhere in Texas during my time there. Delicious pulled pork. Sides are pretty good as well. The sweet and mustard sauces are the perfect blend for this BBQ. There's not much I would change. Great BBQ.

This was an excellent experience. Very good, friendly service and great food. I had the pulled pork and dry rib combo with okra and slaw. Man, it was good!

  • Jan B.

I had the pulled pork platter with potato salad and collard greens. The pork had no real seasoning and i have had that better in other places. The vinegar sauce was ok but the sweet sauce was quite good. The potato salad was good and the collards were very good. The restaurant itself was ok. There were quite a few flies in it which was not so nice. The waitress was very friendly and quick. Good service.

An excellent barb-q place in Jasper, highly recommend to anyone who is in the area and looking for a place to eat and understand the Jasper culture.

Awesome! We live in Marietta near Williams brother and this place is so much better! Hog-A-Chong-a is the way to go and the fried mac and cheese was a good side. We will be back for sure

Ok let's review this joint! History: when this place first opened they had the craziest commercials, owner was there and it was my favorite BBQ! (thats saying a lot) Then he got into competitions let teenagers start running it and down hill from there:( ---The place from now standpoint--- -The staff is semi-helpful and polite -Cleanliness is ok -Have a good selection of desserts -Meat has a good rich smoked flavor through and through usually dry, with little to no fat -The vinegar sauce is thin with spicy bite, the sweet sauce is like most with more of a smoked flavor, dry rub is good not the best I've had -He used to have the best place ever he has lost touch and went to competitions now it doesn't have that warm friendly feel it used to have

can't believe it's been 4 years since I've been to Bub Ba Q - we were out riding around - and decided to give it another try. Tonight I had the ribs and chicken combo - with fries and Brunswick Stew. Ribs were very good - tender, excellent flavor. Chicken was cooked just right, good smokey flavor. Stew was very good - lots of BBQ flavor - and served piping hot. Wait Staff was extremely attentive. We were very impressed - and will not wait 4 years before our next visit!

Where are all the white hoods? Come on now let me see them..... On my recent Georgia BBQ travels I have come to realize that there is not a more polarizing cuisine than smoked meat and the fixin's in this region of the world. After internet searching, reading reviews, and countless miles of drive time, I have come to an understanding that people in general have no f'''n clue. Don't pay attention to the overall stars of this place. This has been the biggest surprise of my journey, and I recommend a stop if ever traveling in the general vicinity, this cue is drive worthy. Just make sure you gas up and leave the engine runnin'... if you have a problem with horse mounted hill people dressed in bed sheets and snake skins. My order.....Chopped Pork, Brisket, Ribs, Onion Rings, Cole Slaw, Pork Sandwich to-go. The standout......Brisket...what?...in Georgia?...yes this Texas staple bbq item was the highlight of my Jasper trip...gets my vote for best brisket GA hands down. F'''n awesome. Maybe the best single piece of BBQ I have had in GA. Ribs I would place in the top three. Great flavor and the sauces here are among my favorites. A can't miss. Chopped Pork is slightly above average but the amount of meat they put on a sandwich for $3.25 is ridiculous. Best value restaurant so far. The sides were fine but the onion rings are frozen. The usual.... And yes, this is all done and run by some pimply faced colledge kids..... I guess the elders are to "tied up" in their night jobs. In my mind, this has become the best place I have reviewed so far. Not much more to say..... 4.4 stars Chef Invisible-Out

As a KC BBQ Judge, I will say this is the best , most awesome brisket I have eaten outside of Brooklyn, NY. It would make many a Bubbie cry. Nothing I have ever eaten in TX even compares. The banana puddng is exceptional made with real whipped cream not plastic whipped topping. The corn friters are great. The pulled pork is deliciously smoky albeit a little on the dry side mix with some of their scrumptious sweet sauce & you come close to heaven. Beans are good & smoky but the Jasper store nees to add a few more onions like the Woodstock store does. well, worth a trip to the GA Mts. If you don't like hieghts stop by the store in woodstock. Agree with some others they do need to give their teenage help a few lessons on customer service. Pay no mind to Chef Invisible's description of the area. He is seriously deluded. He obviously doesn't get out of ATL much since he left the Northern States. ; )

I actually had a good experience here. They must have fixed things since the last reviewer was here, because no bad health department signs were on the door. The place was clean, and busy. I had the brisket sandwich and fries and everything was hot and fresh tasting. My aunt had the brisket cheese steak sandwich with corn fritters and they were awesome. This is not some fancy type of place, that's for sure, but it was a really good lunch. Three of us ate there and we were all very pleased.

Both of the Bub-Ba-Q locations are doing a superb job at their craft, but there's something about the Jasper location that gives it the edge. Maybe its that it's tucked into the gorgeous North Georgia mountains, or that the place just looks like it "should" for a BBQ joint. But either way, you're about to experience cooked meat at its best. Don't settle for just one - order at least a two-meat plate. Yes - you're welcome.

Brisket was good...tender and reminded me of home (Texas). Good size servings. Great service. A bit pricey but good quality food.

Actually pretty decent for southern style BBQ. I'm a Midwest, beef and dry rub guy so this is always going to be colored with the perception that wet meat with a vinegar or ketchup based sauce is is the wrong way to do it but if you are going to do it the wrong way at least they make it taste good. Got a pulled pork sammich combo. The sandwich was quite good, the pork was actually pulled and not chopped and I could mix two of the sauces to make a decent sauce. The beans were actually excellent. Tea was good and there were plenty of pickles. Service was good, it was dead because we were early but it picked up as we got closer to the traditional lunch hour. If I find myself up in the Jasper area again I will likely return to this spot.

Where do I even start... The brisket will make you want to slap your own grandmother, good god is it ever good. The ribs... It's like a symphony playing Mozart on your taste buds. The pulled pork you ask? Just melts in your mouth and makes you wish you could LIVE at this restaurant. I have been here at least 30 times, and it has become a Sunday afternoon tradition. The staff are very nice and the place is very clean too. Being a regular I've been given a tour of the back and you won't find a cleaner restaurant. My only complaint? I can't give 6 stars.
