Okay, I just tried this place for the first time. I agree the food is really good. I had fried chicken with cabbage and fried okra. The chicken was juicy with a great salt taste. The cabbage was good and the fried okra tasted great.. The food is cooked after you go to the counter and order, so you will have to wait a little bit, but the food comes out hot. My only negative is probably the atmosphere. I ate around 6pm when there was not really anyone there. It was just quiet, with no music or television. I think they need to make the atmosphere a little bit better, maybe with some music. Overall, I love the food, I hope they can attract more people. It worries me a little bit that there wasn't really anyone there when I was there as well as a good atmosphere. I do like the food and their cakes, I would definitely keep on coming back, because the food is good.

Visted them when they was located on camp creek. Same great taste and customer service. This will always be my spot for soul food.

it's a good place to go for home cooking. portion size is average. I had a fries whiting plate with fries and broccoli chedder rice. my fish was delicious. the rice was so/so. my dad had chicken and waffles. (I tasted his) the waffle was great. I think it has brown sugar on it. came with four whole wings that we're huge. they we're well seasoned though.

It's just ok. Been here 3 times (3 chances to improve)....so 3 strikes and done! Not the worse but not good enough to go back again. There's better soul food in the area. Fried fish was extra fishy smelling as if it was spoiled and wasn't seasoned well at all. Cake was dry..... fried chicken was just okay as my own fried chicken has more flavor and I am in no way a great cook. My family and I we're disappointed.

Many places tout fine home cooking, but few deliver the full package of taste, service, professionalism, and cost. Big Mama's is one of the few. The friendly and professional service feels like being at home. The menu of food items is impressive and most importantly, the flavor of the food is not masked by over salting. The kitchen is extremely clean; do notice that their health department score is 100, the highest rating an establishment can get! We were so full from the entree, that we did not have room for dessert. We did make room though for some of the lemon cake which tasted just like grandmothers. This place is simple and family friendly. So, if you want real home cooking by folks who enjoy food and serving people, do stop by Big Mama's Kitchen. You will be pleasantly pleased!!!!!!!

Meh, so-so. Fried chicken super salty, corn bread muffins are very dry, but the fried okra was good. This is not good enough to be labeled as "soul food" in my opinion.

Went today just to glance at the menu, but stayed for lunch. The people that work there are VERY nice and professional and the menu has every Southern vegetable that I love. I also like that you can get dressing as a side dish. Do ask for extra gravy. I wish they would put a tad more onion and celery in it for a texture change but it was a great substitute for my own. LOL! The mashed potatoes were the real deal and the baked chicken was moist and juicy. She overcooks the okra by about one minute, but we still enjoyed it. The desserts look yummy, but we were too full to try them. Cracker Barrel, watch out! When the word gets out, I fear about their future.
