Possibly the best sushi in the CSRA! I've eaten there several times and I've never been disappointed. The sushi is excellent, but their teriyaki and hibachi dishes are fantastic as well! The staff is also always friendly.

This place was empty when I went in so I thought maybe it sucks, but I was pleasantly surprised. Customer service was pretty good, and the food was above average in terms of quality and value. The sashimi isn't the freshest I've ever eaten, but it's not that bad either. I got the 15 piece deluxe sashimi. Some pieces were bigger than others, and some pieces were a little fresher than others. See pictures. Prices are about average for this area.

was there 06/07/2015 and service was the best they really accommodate me and my requests. I post picture of one of their special plates the upgrade volcano roll. I just had them add Thi Chile Sauce for more heat. I also had their tuna tartar which was OK but small portion for price. I would eat there again and say it was very enjoyable.

Fresh sushi, the sushi chefs are very fast. The servers are all very friendly. My kids love going. When you want a to-go order it's done in about 10 minutes, which is the drive time. I've been to a bunch of Sushi/Hibachi places, this is the best. Yes it's small but some of the best food in America comes out of little places that put everything into what they serve you. It's a must go.

Amazing sushi! So fresh and tasty. Great setting for dinner with spectacular service. Staff was very friendly and very fast! We ordered and got our roles literally ten minutes later. For a group of five who prefer 8 rolls with side dishes this is amazing.

Great service! Great food! We had the hibachi dinner combinations and sushi. Will be back soon. Nice and quiet on a Sunday afternoon. Great place to come before catching a film or for lunch.

My favorite Japanese restaurant by far. The staff is super friendly and attentive. Food is amazing and incredibly affordable for the amount of food you get. They have great lunch specials. I'll definitely be coming back soon.

Favorite hibachi spot. My usual is Chicken & shrimp hibachi, every time I order its perfect. : ) Comes with soup, and salad. I love their Ginger dressing! I can usually get in and our within half an hour. They bring the food out so quickly! the staff is always polite, and attentive. The loud level is great as well which is always a bonus.

We just dropped into this place for sushi during lunch. We stood uncomfortably in the doorway waiting to be seated or for a server to even acknowledge our presence. The restaurant was very busy with a very big party taking up the majority of it but even still nobody who worked there said a word to us. After waiting we decided to seat ourselves and hopefully catch a server's attention which didn't happen. It seemed as if they were avoiding us so after about 20 minutes of waiting we decided to leave and go to Izumi instead and will not be attempting to eat here again.... Very poor service.

Sushi has never been a favorite of mine, I used to try it here and there. After trying the Spicy crab roll, shrimp tempura and crazy crab roll I can't go more than a day without craving sushi. This place has made any other sushi restaurant seem below par, hands down my favorite restaurant in the CSRA! Oh and the service is always great!

It's all about the Crouching Dragon roll! I've had plenty of sushi from all over the US and Europe, and this place is hands down one of the tastiest and most creative places I've ever eaten. I certainly recommend this place to everyone from the first timer to the seasoned sushi expert.

California roll Shrimp tempura roll Spicy tuna hand roll Tempura udon Toro Yellow tail Sake Unagi Sapporo Stella Super full now. Lets just say, we over ordered for two, but it was awesome. All the food was frat - fresh, crispy tempura, nice rolls and hand rolls, just right chewy udon noodles. It's great to see a good Japanese restaurant in the Evans area. We'll definitely be back again.

This is excellent sushi with very good prices for what you get. Service was excellent and quick. It's a somewhat smaller location, but great atmosphere. It was very quiet when we went (with our 3 kids) in terms of noise level even though it was almost full. This is our new sushi go to spot!

This place is AWESOME! I wanted a true asian cuisine experience and they brought it! The waiter was nice and the sushi chef was amazing! They talked to us like we were family! The best restaurant I've ever been to period! I highly recommend trying all the sushi that they have to offer, it's totally fresh and made just for you!

Japanese food is some of the best in the world. Fact. Hokkaido is a great representation of the Americanized take on this amazing culinary culture, and I don't mean "Americanized" in a bad way, necessarily. This is another one of those restaurants that I'm giving five stars because, while there are certainly better sushi restaurants in the country, and even in Georgia, this is hands down the best I have found so far in the Augusta area, and I've tried them all. For the price you pay, it's very hard to beat. The decor is a contrast of neutral earth tones accented by colorful lighting. The space is limited in a good way (it feels comfortable), and the setting is overall casual and fairly stylish. The tables are consistently clean and the menus are really cool to look at. The staff is incredibly friendly and very accommodating. I have been here many times with my wife, and I kid you not, they have not screwed up a single part of a single order we've ever made. They have gone out of their way for us on several occasions and seem to have their priorities well in order. Excellent folks. The appetizers are great; we regularly enjoy Shumai and one of the delectable tempura appetizers. Great bang for the buck! As per standard in Augusta, the menu is a split menu. It features assorted Japanese and Thai, plus Hibachi offerings. For some reason, Augustans have a strange fascination with Hibachi-style entrees, and depressingly, you cannot find a Japanese restaurant in the area that can survive without offering these dishes on the menu. I think it has to do with the well-documented local obsession with the vastly overrated artery-hardener known simply as "White Sauce," that is, the bastardized, mayonnaise/ketchup-based sauce which locals may be observed guzzling by the half gallon at any given Japanese restaurant. All of that said, I have experienced (albeit secondhand via a taste test from my wife's plate) the glory of Hokkaido's kitchen know-how. Perfectly caramelized meats, appropriate coating of sauce. Incredibly fragrant and savory fried rice. My wife once ordered the seafood combination of the hibachi entree, which offers scallops and calamari. The calamari was uncommonly tender (most places WAY overcook it) and beautifully colored, and the same could and should be said about the perfectly juicy scallops. The sushi menu offers all the standard Maki you would expect to find in an American sushi restaurant, plus the usual over-the-top indulgence rolls and even some pretty unique ones. The quality of the fish is very fresh; never had a gross piece of fish from that bar. The presentation is very modern, crisp and clean. Despite their young appearance, their chefs really seem to know what they're doing, even going so far as to add amazing plate art. I am very impressed with the artistry and expertise with which this sushi is executed. I would again stress that I have never seen these guys fall short of the mark. Bottom line, it's worth every penny. I would only urge you to push the boundaries of your comfort and try something new each time. You won't regret it!

My wife and I have been here a few times. It may not be the greatest sushi in this country, but good Lord for Augusta, GA it's pretty darn great. Agree with others on here that the crazy crab roll is worth it. It's fab. When you're feeling sushi, this place is worth your time and money.

We decided to go to Hokkaido for my birthday with a large group including children and we were very pleased. The service was very accommodating and professional. Our orders were taken promptly and dishes were explained if needed. The only complaint I have is that all food did not arrive at the same time. Some dishes that were only sushi plates from the bar were quick of course but other hot meals were slow to come out. However, the flavors were great and all were pleased with their meals. I shared a bento box with my husband that included tempura, sushi and dumplings. It was wonderful! Portions are large: the child's size is equal to their lunch small size we were told--but it was still huge. Our party was a fun mix of foodies, folks that have lived extensively in Japan and even some that don't eat Asian food regularly and we all left happily and full. I LOVED the birthday "cake" that was brought out: a section of pineapple cut in such a way so as to resemble a fish with orange slices on the side. The restaurant is also suitable for vegetarians and vegans. Don't miss this place!

Great food. We always get the California, spicy crab and spicy shrimp rolls flash fried--$5 a roll. Their side fried rice and side vegetables are also great ($3.50 each). I recommend starting with the hibachi soup ($1.50). The place has a weird vibe though. It's very small and quiet. I feel like I need to lower my voice so everyone doesn't have to hear my conversation. They need to stop using air fresheners in here. Lemon smell does not go with sushi. It smells like a freshly cleaned bathroom with lemon pine sol. If they could stop using scented cleaners and turn on some music, then I'd give it 5 stars.

When you enter the establishment, you'll be greeted with what I can only describe as a unique restaurant environment with different colored lighting lined along the walls. The service at the restaurant is not bad, hence the extra star. The food at the establishment is pretty bad. I have never eaten sushi that had as little flavor as the sushi I experienced at Hokkaido. I don't know what they do to the fish, but it either must be very old, cheap, or they soak the fish in some sort of flavor extracting serum. For reference, I had the Mt. Fuji roll and an order of yellowtail. I then had an order of the steak and shrimp hibachi combination. The steak was cooked fairly well, but the shrimp was chewy and not very appetizing. The fried rice again lacked flavor, which I was surprised with because how do you mess up fried rice!? I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. If you are reading this review on the way to the restaurant or in the parking lot (as I do), I recommend you do yourself a favor and drive down the street a bit to Toki.

Husband and I could not say enough good things about this place!! First off, the atmosphere is cozy but vibrant with fun lights and good music. Second, I could not be more impressed with the service. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and so was the rest of the staff. The food came extremely fast, thankfully cause we were starving. Third, food was FANTASTIC. My husband and I got steak hibachi and I ALSO got the Crazy Crab Roll which was UNREAL. I'm a huge sushi fanatic, and I have not been able to find good sushi in Augusta till now! I think the ONLY problem we had was how the "white sauce" was a little too thin for THE Hibachi. We prefer a thicker sauce with bigger flavor. Also, it doesn't hurt that a Cupcakery is next door! We will DEFINITELY come back, I can't wait to try the other sushi!

Hands down THE BEST sushi in Augusta!! I lived in California for 7 years and really appreciate good sushi. I can't get enough of this place. They always have very unique and delicious specials. One special was called the Volcano Upgrade roll and it was amazing! Every time we come here, we order it and even though it is not on the menu, they still make it for us. Some of our other favorites include Sweetheart Roll, Hanada Roll, and Hokkaido Roll!

I am so happy that I found this place!!!! I have been looking for a sushi place for sometime and I found "decent", but never "good". This place is now it. Its a small laid back place, but the sushi is amazing!!! Since I haven't lived in the CSRA for some time I will continue to try places. This place make the top of my list. If you are in the area you should try it. Hopefully, it sticks around! It is still within it's Grand Opening so I will support! They also do private parties!!

Not sure why my previous rating did not show up. We went here the first week they opened. Authentic Japanese cuisine (we are Japanese, so we know). The plating is very beautiful, the food is delicious, the staff is awesome, and the prices are very affordable. We have been back to Hokkaido a couple times a week ever since! The quality of the food and preparation rivals that of competitive Japanese restaurants. Highly recommended!
