Sorry to say I don't agree with the other reviewers. The only reaon I wanted to give this place a try was the high remark yelpers rave about this place. The place is small inside and hidden away. I've driven by this place many time without a second glance. The hub got cheese Danish and honey maple sandwich which both he said was OK. I got the canoli which I thought tasted old and the salami sandwich was decent. We wanted to try the chocolate croissant but sold out. I don't think I will be returning back anytime soon.

This little hole in the wall of Satellite is awesome! The spot is perfect for a lunch or breakfast pick-up and go. There are only 2 or 3 tables in front of the display case that holds all sorts of delicious pastries. The fresh made sandwiches are assembled by the owner himself prepared on your choice of bread and are always great. I don't know how many times I drove past this place before finally going in. Don't make the same mistake, check out GA French Bakery for yourself!

Okay so this is how It happened. I work right off of Satellite Blvd so I pass this spot everyday. I must have been in a daze and decided to glance around. So I see the sign for the Ga French Bakery. I immediately zoned in on Bakery, because I love sweets. I definitely put it on the radar to drop in at lunch time. The place is not huge but those are always the best spots. I walked up to the case and saw Carrot Cake, Cheese Cake, Fruit Tarts, Fresh Cookies, Danishes, Scones the list is endless. Not to mention he does not charge an arm and a leg. I decided to get a slice of carrot cake and it was so good I had to get another slice the next day. He gives you a big piece so you get more than your moneys worth. I have to stop in for Lunch one day. Definitely no disappoints

Georgia French Bakery & Cafe is simply fantastic. The pastries are amazing and always fresh. I buy a loaf of country french bread every time I stop in. My go-to lunch is the salami sandwich on country french. The spread on the sandwich is a little sweet, which I normally wouldn't like, but I think works very well with the salami. Oliver (the owner) is extremely friendly and rarely picks on me for purchasing way too many sweets. In my defense, it is a bit far from home and I don't get to stop in as often as I'd like - you have to take advantage of the opportunities life presents!

I came in here around 2pm ish on a Saturday afternoon and I wouldn't say that this place was packed...but definitely not empty. It's a small place, but not too small where I felt cramped. There was a family there munching on some baked goods and another pair sat who probably sat down for lunch (they each got a sandwich and as I was discretely looking over at the sandwiches, it looked like a hearty helping of meat---couldn't tell what kind, I just saw that it was a thick looking sandwich---guess I'll try that next time!). As for me, I got the almond croissant (A MUST, so soft, so fluffy, with that crispy and sweet exterior), a butter croissant (tasted like the kind you get at costco), and the raisin danish (a little bit too sweet for me?). The owner seemed really kind. He packaged up my baked goodies in a box and sealed it with tape---kinda tacky for presentation but whatever! Three pastries cost me $7.03...the almond croissant was by far the most expensive (at $2.55) while the regular, butter croissant was priced at $1.85. The danish was (I think) $2.15 or something. Next time I'll make a stop to try their sandwiches (which will probably be VERY soon since I looooove sandwiches, I was just full from lunch today so didn't order it). As for PASTRIES, I think I'll only stop by once in a while...as a college student, the pricing is a bit steep for my wallet. As I left I overheard one of the customers stating that her cookie was by far the BEST oatmeal raisin cookie she has ever had. Maybe she's a regular or something but that kinda had me wanting to go back to the counter to order one. Thankfully I didn't, but next time along with my sandwich I'll probably sample the cookie too. I give it 4 stars for a verrrrrrry tasty almond croissant.

This is a great find hidden a strip shopping center. I've eaten here many times. Everything from the sandwiches to the pastries to the fresh bread are great. My favorite sandwich by far is the roast beef, which I usually get in the lunch combo deal. Favorite pastry is the tarte aux fraises (strawberry tart) followed by an eclair. The owner, Olivier, is friendly guy. Feel free to try your French (or German) with him. And don't forget to grab a fresh baguette for dinner later.

This bakery is delicious! I've had the white chocolate chip and macadamia nut cookie which is by far the best cookie I have ever had and the chocolate chip cookie is alright. One thing you must try (if there's any left) is the chocolate croissant. The most flaky soft croissant I have ever had. Everything here is baked fresh daily and the owner is so friendly and kind.

Yes, go here anytime you are in the area and even if you have to go out of your way. My wife and I have been coming here since we were dating years ago and the food and the service have always been the best. Their lunch sandwiches are awesome and their breakfast variety is just as great. The owner is always friendly and has a smile on his face. So, if you have a chance to visit do yourself a favor and go!

I love this bakery!! It says something about a place when they are not even open weekends and their hours are from 7 AM- 4PM (normal work hours for people), and yet they are still very popular and successful! If I could only try every single one of their items I highly doubt I that I will dislike any of it! My absolute favorite is the almond croissant, flaky with filling with shaved almonds encrusted on the outside. I would come here every chance I get (any weekday I am off and it's not a holiday). I always bring people who come and visit me from back home. Definitely try this place out!

im such a fan fan fan fan fan fan fan fan fan fan fan fannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!!!!!!!! this is the best baked goods EVER EVER EVER!!!! i've been wanting to keep it a secret from y'all, bc they run out of everythinggg soooo earlyyyyyy you need to try the following: -lunch special: panini + cookie + drink - the chicken pesto is amazinggg. on a long thin baguette with mozerella, chicken, and pesto -chocolate chip cookie is moist and super chocolately -cornet a la creme: sooooo gooood! the creme isnt overly sweet, and a great texture -chocolate croissant: i eat it standing there waiting for my togo lunch order -AND THE BEST THING EVER-ALMOND CROISSANT!!! croissant cut in half with almond flavored cream + almonds + chocolate drizzle things to skip: -tomato soup: just a little too creamy for me, sadly everything is a little pricey, but SOOOO WORTH IT!!!!

You know it's a decent French place if you see the owner speaking with a customer in French. What I didn't expect was the awesomeness of balsamic mayo and the bread. My tongue did dances of joy for the bread's soft flavor and the strong mayo. I was lucky I turned into the strip mall before I saw the place - this place is diagonally across the street from a QT, around the intersection of merchant and satellite. Many times have I passed this place without noticing it - I came here the other day because I didn't want Korean food, and needed something for lunch. Thanks to Yelp and their map tool. My order was $9 for a full sandwich and almond croissant. Croissant was around $3. I got the roast beef sandwich. I was tempted to get the 1/2 sandwich with a soup for $6.5, but I wasn't too hungry. I got 1/2 of my sandwich and the pastry to go, which was a good choice since by the time I finished my 1/2, I was pretty stuffed. Had the leftovers later and the sandwich was still good; croissant was pretty good, although I wasn't a fan of the drizzled chocolate on top. The roast beef sandwich tasted great because of two things: the balsamic mayo was good, and the bread was good. That's what made the sandwich. I sat at a table and enjoyed my sandwich, reading a TIME magazine. Noticed a couple of business people drop by on their lunch break. The place: small bakery, with 5 small round tables and seating at the window. Not a lot of room to maneuver between tables (almost none), but many people get their food to go. The owner is friendly and kind, but the interior of this place could be improved. Although I'm rating this place 5 stars, I wouldn't say that I'm in love with the place - I just really enjoyed that sandwich. Great place to get the food to go. One morning I drove all around the Pleasant Hill Mall area searching for a real bakery that sold fresh blueberry muffins. I had given up when I happened to glance up while passing GA French Bakery. The items in the display all looked good. A spot for blueberry scones was empty, so I chose the fruit tart. It had ruby-red strawberries and bright kiwis and mandarin oranges (a full serving) over a creamy yet not too sweet custard and a delightful crust. I will definitely return. The quality is better than pastries I have been eating at swanky Atlanta-area bakeries lately and come with a lower price tag. However, the owner does require a minimum purchase for credit card usage. He provided tasty food and charming service. While I was there, several regulars stopped by for their morning fix.

This fantastic bakery is a few hundred feet from the Talbot's Outlet near Gwinnett Mall. I've been a customer for several years, and the French owner is ALWAYS there. The breads are fantastic ($3.15 a loaf). My indulgence for lunch is either the chicken or spinich friand. YUMMY! For dessert, try one of the fabulous eclairs or a cinnamon roll. I do love the bakeries inside the Perimeter, but the GA French Bakery is one of the reasons why GWINNETT is GREAT (like the old water tower said!).

Did you know? They are opened until 4pm on Weekdays to provide you guys the freshest, fluffiest baked goods. I don't know of any other authentic French bakery in the area The owner in there definitely has a sexy french accent and is super duper nice. I came in a little bit early at like 10am and didn't want to go through the trouble of coming back for lunch. He offered to cook me a panini right away so I could have it for later. He's good. The only minus I'd have to say about this place is the lack of seating. They have 1 table and I'm not sure if you can sit there. There was an employee folding boxes when I walked in. If you come here, plan on taking your stuff to go. They have an assortment of cookies, scones, tartes, and cakes to meet any desire. I got the chocolate croissant recommended by all the yelpers and its pretty good stuff. They smear a little bit of chocolate inside the puffed up pastry. It's sweet, but not too sweet -- which is what I personally prefer. When I try the sandwich, I'll tell you guys about it later. All of the items are available at great prices. I can mix and match, with each thing costing about $2. The panini came with chips for $5.95. That's fantastic. Oh and the minimum credit card purchase is $5. So bring cash or buy more! I'll be back to this hole-in-the-wall any day. 5 stars for I'd go out of my way for this one.

First let's start with something interesting, their business hour. Mon-Friday 8:00-4:00, And closed on Saturday and Sunday.. While they sell their baked goodies in a decent price, how they can keep up with this place? I "accidently" run into this place at around 8:30 in the morning and when i first walked in, no fancy tables, no fancy utensils, no fancy nothing, it's just a plain European style bakery. The selection was not that abundant, but hey, guess what. They have some BEST baked goods I've tasted a long time ago. I had a Almond Crossant,Cheese Danish and that was some of the best stuff i've had in a long time....not too sweet but sure it was really fulfilling.. I have been to other European bakeries in the city but this one sure is the best in your stomach and your wallet.

A nice little place for lunch, amazing fresh bread and pastries. Fresh baked bread, what more can I say. You pick which bread you would like, cold or hot sandwich. Very small inside, and hard to spot from the road. Very nice man at the register, which I think he is the owner. Nothing fancy, but the sandwiches make up for it. Meals run about $6.00 for a large sandwich and chips. Chocolate croissant is an added benefit.

Another 5 star review for the GA French Bakery. A nice selection of sandwiches, paninis, soups (usually just french onion and/or minnestrone) and salads. Frionds are also another lunch choice, but they are in the pastry counter. Puff style pastry wrapped around turkey, ham or veggies with a creamy bechamel sauce. The bread here is excellent, as you would hope as it's a bakery first and foremost. Sometimes he is out of baguettes when I show up for lunch. But usually not. The last baguette I bought there was half eaten by the time I got it home. Deserts are great too. My favs include the almond croissant and the brownies. They didn't take credit cards which stopped me from going so often. But now they do so I've started going more frequently and the quality has not dropped one bit.

Thanks to Yelp, I found the MOST delicious French pastries I have EVER tasted. The selection is small, but everything was extremely succulent and delicious. What also deserves mention about this place was the owner, Oliver. He provided exceptional service worth mentioning. After we had hit the $15 mark on our pastries, he threw in a free cheese danish! We will definately be back the next time we are in the Atlanta Perimeter.

Owner/baker/clerk very friendly. I tell him I'm on a diet and then buy a lot of pastries. We chuckle together, and he gives me some advice, "Everything in moderation." Prices good. Clean inside. It's time to expose the best kept secret in Ga. Tucked away in Duluth is this extraordinary little Cafe called the GA Bakery. You might pass it every day and not even notice, but rest assured, once you've been there you'll never forget it. Fresh pastries, breads, cakes and the best fresh sandwiches. Sure there are a lot of cafe's and sandwich shops in the Atlanta area, but few have such good food and goodies. The GA Bakery's prices are more than reasonable for the high quality and standards. Equal to the edible excellence is Oliver, the owner. He brings his own charm to the bakery and is never without a smile or a kind word. His mastery of his art is apparent when you look through the displays of tasty treats. The care of preparation and attention to detail is obvious with the first scrumptious bite of any of Oliver's creations. But don't take my word for it! Go to the GA Bakery and see for yourself. You won't regret it.

You gotta try this place! My Mom & I went today and had minestrone and half a panini, made on a fresh baguette. Delicious! We brought home some wonderful whole wheat bread that makes an amazing bread pudding! And yes, the croissants are amazing... ******************** Edited on 9/6/08: Every time I visit, I see a beautiful Tatin Tart, so I finally decide to purchase one. It's an upside-down apple tart in which the apples are caramelized in butter and sugar before the tart is baked. This one yields about eight slices, and is a bargain at $8.95. I take it home, slightly warm a slice in the microwave, then enjoy with a small scoop of vanilla bean ice cream. Perfection! Another must is the Cheese Danish. Trust me.

I had a very pleasant experience today at the GA french bakery. The owner was very kind, and the place was clean. The food was excellent, I got the chocolate mousse cake and my husband had a cinnamon bun. Both were very nice sized and very yummy! My husband also got a roasted chicken sandwich which he enjoyed. We both had some coffee--which was only passable--barely. The best thing we bought was a loaf of country french bread, amazing, and reasonably priced. My biggest suggestion for the bakery would be to move from plasticware and styrofoam cups to real glasses and silverware. I think if they did, it would easily be a 5 star place.

Wow, all 5's before my review. To me, it seemed great, but today's experience was a borderline 4. Some good aspects are: the breads, the great aroma, and the quaintness and authenticity (see my review of the E. 48th Street Market). A couple of negatives, though: they were out of the bread that was my first choice (Italian semolina); the French touches (see my review of La Mediterranee)--too heavy on the cheeses and sauces; and the host, while very friendly and cheerful, was kinda obsequious, a little overkill with the "yes sir" this and "yes sir" that. To complete this "sandwich" review (good-bad-good)--pun intended--More goodness on the sweets. We had a sampling of some cookies, scones, and pastries, and want to return for more.

You think "sandwiches" can't possibly be that mind-blowing, right? Wrong. This little bakery goes above and beyond. I really believe that it's the bread that makes or breaks the sandwich, not necessarily what goes inside. This place stands by that philosophy. Found in a small, unassuming shopping strip, it's easy to drive right past it and not notice. Definitely more of a bakery than a cafe -- I wouldn't recommend dining in. It's a tiny space, and although there are tables inside, you'd literally be sitting in front of the pastry window. Well, I guess that's not necessarily a bad thing, is it? The sandwiches are pretty awesome. The bread is definitely fresh, as in freshly baked that morning. Soft, fluffy, and moist, this is how I'd envision the bread, walking down the streets of Paris. The owners are native French as well, which adds to the charm. The chicken pesto sandwich is one of the best things on the menu. The chicken is nicely roasted, and their pesto spread is so flavorful. The portions are huge, so be armed with a huge appetite or save the other half for another meal. Great value though! Remember to grab a cookie or other pastry for dessert. To die for!

I love this quaint little bakery. When I first discovered this place (thanks yelp!) I was here probably everyday that week. I have tried the almond croissant, chocolate croissant, butter croissant, cornet a la creme, napoleon, eclair, cinnamon raisin roll, and the Provence panini. And oh my god all of those are beyond great. Personally though, I like the almond croissant and the cornet a la creme the best. It saddens my heart that this bakery is closed on weekends, but what can you do? Oh, and Oliver, the owner, is also very amicable!

This is my favorite place on the earth, almost. Oliver is the owner of this bakery, and he is the nicest man on the planet! He is very helpful if you are having trouble deciding and is always good for conversation! I've been here quite a few times, and tried almost every item on the menu and in the case and you honestly can't go wrong with anything! My favorites are the cheese danish, almond croissant, tomato soup, and the roast beef sandwich. The roast beef sandwich is referred to as "THE BEST SANDWICH IN THE WORLD" by myself and all of the people who've tried it. LOVE this place, wish I lived closer, unfortunately I recently moved about 45 minutes away but that hasn't stopped me from making the trek any chance that I get!

I've been longing to find a place that's not a chain near work for lunch. Leave it to Yelp to point me in the right direction. I got the lunch special a panini with a drink, then you could add any number of other options for an extra $1 or so. I decided on the caprese panini and a double chocolate cookie. The cookie alone was worth the trip. It was big, soft, & chocolately. I got the sandwich to go and it was the longest 5 minute car ride back to my office. I was a little afraid because it included swiss cheese and I really can't stand swiss, but I couldn't taste it at all. The bread was crusty, the pesto was fresh, and the cheese was gooey. I was definitely a happy girl. It was a little pricier than some of my lunch options, but I'm willing to forgive that because it's a lot fresher and better than my other options. The one thing I'm not nuts about is the location. The parking lot is cramped and oddly angled and it's really easy to overshoot it. There's no way two large cars could pass each other at certain points. I had to drive all way around to park. That's not really their fault, though. The food is solid, so I'll be back. Now I know what to avoid in the parking lot.

I went here for lunch with family from out of town. Normally I'm not a sandwich guy but my family is so I figured I'd try the place since it has such high reviews. The food is excellent and the service was excellent. The man behind the register with a french accent was extremely pleasant and helpful. I ordered the Roast Beef sandwich and french onion soup (all the others were sold out). It was delicious (but I wouldn't really call it amazing, again, I'm not a sandwich guy and this was a normal roast beef sandwich...go figure). The bread was great and I assume baked at the store. My son had a cinnamon roll. It was perfectly sweet and delicious but not cloying. I wanted a tart, but they were sold out, I suppose. The restaurant is quite small and since it was lunch time nearly every table was full. I really wish there was more seating, but hey, it's a great place. The only reason I'm docking a star is just because I was a bit underwhelmed with the experience after reading all of the good reviews. I guess the hype had me really excited. Combine that with the soup being sold out, the tarts being unavailable, and the seating area full I was just a bit disappointed. I will come back next time a need a sandwich. It's better than RolyPoly for sure and not as gimmiky as Le Madeline.

IF YOU WALK OVER FROM THE MALL, YOU CAN EAT MORE! It is early afternoon and my daughter and I are in the area shopping. I remember that this bakery is close by and I want to visit. The last time I visited, it was late in the afternoon and there was only one pastry of interest left. This time, I am determined to explore other options. As we pull into our parking space I sense another car pulling in next to us, as my daughter says "He looks French". I look up and see this European Adonis. I remember saying to my daughter "He looks all sorts of European, let's move". As we are moving, I'm thinking this is the guy who comes in and buys in bulk for his friends or for later. Everything moves in slow motion but we actually reach the door first. We are warmly greeted and proceed to explore the inventory. They still have great options and we order our pastries and take a seat. The Adonis finally enters and I look at his shoes! Nailed it!! Although he was very French, he did not pose a threat as he was interested in lunch and not our beloved pastries. The pastries, (Pains Aux Raisins and Cheese) were wonderfully decadent and delicious. They not only have pastries but also have other offerings such as croissants, sandwiches, quiche, soup and also bottled beverages. I can't imagine walking in here and ordering a savory snack because my brain is just not wired that way. I immediately think sweet treat and I go hard!! This is a nice small bakery and it is just what a pastry shop should be: simple and delicious. The owner is always there to warmly greet us and make us feel welcomed. If you are in the area, you must stop in and explore their options. You will thank me!

Summary: Great breakfast and desserts, open early, soon will be getting more coffee drinks. I kept seeing this place and never got a chance to check it out. Opportunity arose when a friend wanted to meet super early. I know this place opens early and closes early so we wanted to try it. When you first walk in, it looks small, very mom and pop. I love that about this place. The owner sounds like he has a French accent, so it very well might be authentic. All the pastries we tried were amazing. They will be getting iced coffees and other caffeinated drinks soon too so I see even more potential coming up for this place. We got the turkey, egg, and cheese croissant, a chicken turnover-type thing which I could not pronounce (starts with an F), a fruit tart, and a blueberry bar. Everything was amazing! The croissant was crisp, but flakey and cheesy. The chicken turnover had a great ratio of chicken to turnover. The fruit tart had fruits that tasted sweet with a crust that was crispy, which provided great contrast. the blueberry bar was heavy, but luckily I shared half with my friend. The owner was really friendly and easy to talk to and ask questions. My friend and I were easily able to talk and hang out for a long time without worrying about giving up our seats or judgement, which was nice. I'm looking forward to coming back again and trying other desserts and maybe also a panini.

Love their panini and pastries. Why go to White Windmill or Tree Story, paying 1.5 of the money to get bakeries when you can go here. This place is my favorite in Duluth. It offers good panini for lunch, and great bakeries for snacks and desserts. They make panini bread daily, from scratch, which most chain sub shops cannot do. I haven't got anything not satisfying yet. I like their fruit tart and eclair a lot. Try them if they are still available, because they go out fast. There's a lunch combo for $7.99, you get panini, chips and a drink. The owner is very nice and friendly. And he's from France, of course.

Baking the bread and pastries fresh each day, the taste of almost everything I have there is 5 stars. I personally enjoy the ham and Swiss on country French bread with Dijon mustard. I also like this on the baguette which is just as tasty. Then Croissants are to die for as well.

This place is awesome. Whenever we have some extra time for our lunch break, we drive 20 minutes up here to enjoy the phenomenal food. The owner is super polite and takes pride in his food. Bread is the best in NE suburbs. Can't get enough and the new remodel is beautiful

This place is so good. The pastries are amazing but the lunch sandwiches and soups were really good too. The owner was so nice and friendly. We chatted while he made our sandwiches (which were really quite delicious. Better than Panera bread or any other sandwich places I've been recently) and it was cheap. Even my very picky Japanese coworker was happy with the sandwich and soup. We weren't planning on it but we both were so impressed with the place we bought some pastries afterwards and took them back to our hotel and ate them. So good. The best part about the pastries is that they weren't overwhelmingly sweet. Just sweet enough but very flavorful. So many bakeries just load on the sugar that you're disgusted after 2 bites but this place made me want more. The only bad thing is that it is a small shop and doesn't fit too many people. Not really the kind of place you can sit down and eat at with more than a couple people in your party. But don't let that stop you from ordering take-out. You won't regret it. Awesome place. It's hard to find and it doesn't look like much inside or out but it is such good food that you won't care.

I went there very early in the morning, so the selection is limited. I got a butter croissant and another thing I don't remember the name. The butter croissant was nice, the other thing I got was filled with cream and chicken, that was a bit too rich for me.

From a business perspective, this is the groundwork all restaurants should learn. Owned and operated by an extremely amiable man, Olivier, every customer is treated with respect and much consideration. Sandwiches, breads (which are free of preservatives) and pastries are baked with quality in mind over quantity, daily. Having experienced nearly the entire menu, I've found nothing short of great. The sweets are a perfect balance of creaminess and a light, airy touch while the paninis are as delicious as sandwiches get. The quiches, however, are, without question, the best available anywhere. The epitome of good, quality food.

I wanted to branch out and try more cuisines. I've always wanted to try Georgia French Bakery & Cafe but it's not open when I'm able to go visit. They are open form 7 am till 4 pm and closed on weekends. No way was I ever going to make it! Fortunately for me, I want fresh breads and not working. It is located next to Banh Mi Cafe on the left side of Gwinnett Place Mall on Macy's side. It's a small bakery with tasty looking desserts. I was sad that all the fresh breads were sold out! I did come at 3:30 pm so I completely understand why none aren't made anymore. I decided to get the salami sub since my daughter loves salami. I didn't get any desserts and only the sub. I took a bite of the sandwich and was so in love with the flavors of the salami and the fresh bread. OMG. It is so good, the flavors were on point. I am excited to go back and try more! Next time, I will try a dessert. I'm just drooling and thinking about the next trip.

It was still early in the morning and I was very happy that I didn't miss out getting the good stuff including the chocolate eclairs! Oh oh oh oh my goodness were they the most delicious chocolate eclairs I've ever had! These were better than the ones I've had at Publix! So much better and they had the perfect sweetness to it, too! Yes yes yes I'm definitely a fan of their chocolate eclairs! My mom had the almond croissant and I had the choco croissant which was AMAZING!!

I've had this place bookmarked for ages, but they're always closed when it's convenient for me to get over to the Gwinnett Place Mall area (weekends and evenings). I finally made it. Full disclosure:I arrived close to three pm and they close at four, so I knew it was a gamble. The place was empty when I arrived and the owner (I'm assuming, based on what I've read here) seemed tired. He was on the phone and didn't seem to know if he should offer me assistance or keep talking while I perused the small pastry case of offerings. I asked him if he had any bread and he only had a loaf of brioche and a loaf of country white. Neither were what I wanted, but it was the end of the day so I opted for the country white. Sliced. I also ordered two eclairs and a butter croissant. My husband love croissants. I tried one of the eclairs, which is odd for me since I generally don't like sweet things. I was immediately struck by the freezer taste of the eclair. It was disappointing. Hubby actually liked the eclair, but found his croissant to be too doughy. He much preferred the ones from Sweet Tentations on Holcomb Bridge. I generally only eat grainy wheat bread, so this country white thing was the thing I had the lowest hopes for. I used it to make us some grilled turkey, bacon and Swiss sandwiches for dinner that night and they were so, so good. I also may or may not have stolen a few of the smaller pieces from the loaf, slathered them with butter and loved them. Not sure if I would make a special trip again, but if I did it would surely be in the morning.

I've been here twice for lunch, and both times the food was exceptional. The chicken pesto panini is delicious, the chicken is moist and the pesto is some of the best I have ever tasted. I have also tried the veggie sandwich on a baguette. The bread itself is crisp on the outside, yet soft and delicate inside, basically perfect. The sandwich is stuffed full of grilled and fresh veggies that are complemented by a delicious balsamic mayo. Finally, all the pastries in the counter look fantastic. I tried the fruit tart and it was to die for, I'll definitely be going back to try more of the other options.

This place is fantastic! I got the veggie sandwich on 7 grain with tomato basil soup. Dining partner got the Brittany with onion soup. My only complaint was that the spoon wasn't big enough so I couldn't get enough soup in my mouth at one time. I wanted to eat slowly to savor the food, but it was too good to slow down. Both breads were amazing. Just the right balance of crunchy and chewy, and very flavorful. We split an almond croissant for dessert, and oh boy, so good. When we left, we agreed we were too full to eat more, but wanted to try. We'll be back soon!

Everytime I pick up banh mi at Banh Mi Cafe a door down form Georgia bakery...I always have to stop by this bakery and pick up a treat for me. It makes me excited everytime lol. I recently got the almond croissant and the cornet a la creme. Both is amazingly soft with the perfect amount of sweetness so it's not over bearing. I like how the creme inside the cornet melts in my mouth. So so good! Will come back later and try more pastries. Also... I always seem to come by when they are sold out of the chocolate croissant. Must try it later!!!

The bread. Oh, the bread. Did I mention BREAD!?! Excellent. I'm never one to say no to a french bakery. Well, I never say no to most any food but french pastries and baked goods are some of my favorite things in the world. At the Georgia French Bakery & Cafe you'll find a wide selection of those as well as soups, salads, quiches and sandwiches. Yum, yum. First, the space is very simple and sparse. This isn't a cozy place at all. Rather it focuses on functional. You come in, get your stuff and either eat it at a tiny table or you leave with it in hand. That's it. You order at the counter. You get your own drinks. No frills. The owner is very nice and was patient as we tried to decide on which pastries to buy after we ordered our sandwiches. We just ended up buying all the goods instead of having to choose but more on that later. Let's talk about the sandwiches! I got the caprese (tomato, pesto and mozzarella) and my husband got a ham thingie combo with chips and a drink (bottled water). Both of our order came on a baguette but you can choose from several different types of breads. While the mixings/fixings weren't the highest quality or the most astounding flavor, the bread was DIVINE. I could've just eaten a big pile of that. I still could. Good, basic food. The ceasar salad was fine. Nothing exciting but decent sized and extra dressing was offered at no charge. Now, for the baked goods. The eclair was good as was the apple tart. The apple pear oatmeal square was freaking delicious. The fruit tart, the cinnamon twist, the chocolate ganache cake and the cherry tart were all meh. I've had much better but I've also had a LOT worse. I think we ordered some of the wrong things. Next time it'll be croissants all the way! And more oatmeal squares. Like I said before, the owner was incredibly helpful and nice. We didn't have to pay til the end of our meal because he wanted us to be able to take our time. He even tossed in a free dessert because we went sugar crazy. I could tell he was well known by many folks who were coming and going, and was well liked too. You can buy bread in bulk and we are going to do that next time we go. Which will be soon, hopefully! Hours are 7am-4pm Monday - Friday.

I discovered this place while hanging out with my friend who doesn't live in Duluth. Found this gem via yelp and figured why not? The shop is sort of hidden in plain sight so if you're having trouble, look next to the enterprise building. It's the second or third shop in the red brick buildings. So far I've tried their Paninis, the tomato soup (I think it was tomato basil, but I'm not sure), the chocolat éclair, apple normandies, quiche, and blueberry scone. They bake their pastries and bread daily so you should probably get there before they run out! Paninis: I love, love, love their paninis. There's one with chicken and pesto sandwiched between fresh bread. Their pesto is made with almonds instead of pine nuts and I actually prefer it like that. Pastries: The pastries that I've listed above are all delectable. There's a lot of others that I've yet to try as well. The chocolat éclair is filled with custard so it's a little towards the sweeter side. I'd recommend it with a good cup of coffee, black, preferably. The blueberry scone is my favorite so far. It is huge. Like twice the size of a blueberry scone from Starbucks and almost the same price. It's not very sweet so I love it even more. Definitely getting more of those. I've never heard of the apple normandies until now. It consists of glazed apple slices baked on a strip of pastry. It's very different and I really like it. It's sweet but not too sweet. Lastly, the quiche. What can I say? It was absolutely perfect. Not too cheesy, not too salty and it was big enough to share between two people. It was in the refrigerated display case so the owner asked if we would like for it to be heated up. Best decision of my life. The crust was delicious. It was a bit buttery but the crispy flakes made up for that. The egg filling itself was very light. Honestly, I would've eaten it all myself, but I decided to share. The food and the service was and is still amazing. The only downside is the store interior. I wish that this shop's business would allow it to expand. The location is a bit hard to find and the shop itself is a bit small. Definitely recommend to anyone and everyone.

Yes!! This place is awesome. Really good pastries and desserts. Really good sandwiches too. I had a turkey sandwich for lunch one day along with a cold apple tart that was really good. The almond croissants are really good too as others have said! They do sell out tho, so beware! The almond croissant has an almond fillings inside of it and chocolate and powered sugar on top, I didn't realize it was so legit until I took it out of the box later. I would not recommend the scones, it was more like a cake than a scone. But if that's your thing then ok!

First visit to the bakery. I stopped in at 8 am for breakfast after dropping my car off for service at a nearby dealer. Found the location on a Yelp search. All the pastry's looked excellent. I first ate the ham, egg, and cheese croissant. The egg-ham-cheese were standard fair. The croissant, however, was excellent. I enjoyed it enough to order a second croissant without the breakfast food. Staffed by the owner with a couple of assistants. Nice local place. The type of independent business we need to continue to support. Come in and enjoy.

I am extremely compelled to update my review, which means I am maintaining my 5-star rating. This bakery is magical and I have been back a couple times since I reviewed it last year. I have tried the eclairs on several occasions and would daresay that it is the best that I've had in the States. Besides its authenticity, it is fresh. The cream in the center is just sweet enough and the pate a choux is perfection. It's light, airy, and has just the right crispiness to it. But today, I am writing to inform you all about the baguette. This is the only bread that I've had so far from here and I was lucky to have it hug my chicken, tomato, pesto, and mozzarella (in conjunction, they formed the Provence panini) for lunch. Since starting a new job at the beginning of this year, I haven't been able to make it to the bakery because it is only open Monday through Friday, from 7:30 am till 4 pm. "How do they stay in business," you may be wondering. I have often wished that the bakery had extended hours, but after my stop in today around 1 pm, I realize why the owner chooses this schedule. First off (not to generalize), the French have a different attitude about work. They do it as a means to an end, which is to enjoy life. While Americans may judge them for countless things, this is one thing that I admire and envy (being an American myself, I probably work too much). Now that I have a different philosophy about life, I probably would do the same thing as he does, if I were just successful enough to get the most of my life. And for me, at this stage, material things don't do it like they used to. I love seeing the sky as the sun sets, feeling the breeze of a warm spring day, you know, all those cheesy things that others like too but choose not to express. Anyway... The owner (who I gather is named Oliver from the reviews, but I've never asked him in person for his name, nor have I used it--out of politeness) closes up shop at 4, yet by 1 almost everything is sold out. Even brioche, which I would have brought home had it been available. (I secretly wanted an eclair and if that had been in the case, it probably would already be in my belly by now.) Great success! Service is amazingly warm and kind, which is semi-unlike the service I got at some business establishments in Paris. The owner is genuinely concerned about his customers' satisfaction and asked me today twice if I was doing okay. I was more than okay. Because this panini was probably one of the best things I've ever eaten. I understand why the French take 2 hours to eat now. I was truly savoring the sandwich and I wished it would never end, so I chewed slowly and I tasted each ingredient. It was a sandwich with very few ingredients, but they were all high-quality and absolutely delicious. I was tempted to get a piece of blueberry bread pudding but since I gorged last night on German food, I tried to exhibit some self-restraint. Bf comes home soon and I'm wondering if I should drag him there to get a sandwich... I already took home two croissants for us (which are among my favorites in Atlanta--a toss-up between this bakery and the other French one in Chamblee that I've reviewed). But if we go there and there is still a piece of bread pudding left, who knows what may happen...

I went here for lunch with family and ordered the Provence panini (chicken), the Tuscany (prosciutto) panini, and another panini with beef. They were simple and yummy. The Tuscany was my favorite; the others had a creaminess that I don't expect in French sandwiches. We also ordered several pastries: almond croissant, napoleon, chocolate peanut butter cookie, cranberry pear oat crumble. The almond croissant is amazing- it has custard as well as almond filling, making it not as sweet as almond croissants tend to be. The layers in the napoleon were perfectly flaky and crispy, and the custard was just firm enough to not squish into a horrible mess when you bite into it. The coffee was pretty watered down, but was coffee-like enough to go with the pastries. The decor could be neater, but the owner is so friendly that you feel comfortable regardless!

I hope someone does open an amazing French bakery OTP, but this is not it.

I totally disagree with all the reviewers. The food did not taste fresh to me. I got the eclair and it tasted quite stale and my daughter got the napoleon . She said she only ate it because the sandwich didn't fill her up and she was still hungry. We both got panni's. I got the Tuscany and she got the veggie (the only veggie in it was a tomato) I have never been to France so can't say if it authenic or not, it definitely did not appeal to my American palate.

I went here for lunch with family from out of town. Normally I'm not a sandwich guy but my family is so I figured I'd try the place since it has such high reviews. The food is excellent and the service was excellent. The man behind the register with a french accent was extremely pleasant and helpful. I ordered the Roast Beef sandwich and french onion soup (all the others were sold out). It was delicious (but I wouldn't really call it amazing, again, I'm not a sandwich guy and this was a normal roast beef sandwich...go figure). The bread was great and I assume baked at the store. My son had a cinnamon roll. It was perfectly sweet and delicious but not cloying. I wanted a tart, but they were sold out, I suppose. The restaurant is quite small and since it was lunch time nearly every table was full. I really wish there was more seating, but hey, it's a great place. The only reason I'm docking a star is just because I was a bit underwhelmed with the experience after reading all of the good reviews. I guess the hype had me really excited. Combine that with the soup being sold out, the tarts being unavailable, and the seating area full I was just a bit disappointed. I will come back next time a need a sandwich. It's better than RolyPoly for sure and not as gimmiky as Le Madeline.

Love their panini and pastries. Why go to White Windmill or Tree Story, paying 1.5 of the money to get bakeries when you can go here. This place is my favorite in Duluth. It offers good panini for lunch, and great bakeries for snacks and desserts. They make panini bread daily, from scratch, which most chain sub shops cannot do. I haven't got anything not satisfying yet. I like their fruit tart and eclair a lot. Try them if they are still available, because they go out fast. There's a lunch combo for $7.99, you get panini, chips and a drink. The owner is very nice and friendly. And he's from France, of course.

IF YOU WALK OVER FROM THE MALL, YOU CAN EAT MORE! It is early afternoon and my daughter and I are in the area shopping. I remember that this bakery is close by and I want to visit. The last time I visited, it was late in the afternoon and there was only one pastry of interest left. This time, I am determined to explore other options. As we pull into our parking space I sense another car pulling in next to us, as my daughter says "He looks French". I look up and see this European Adonis. I remember saying to my daughter "He looks all sorts of European, let's move". As we are moving, I'm thinking this is the guy who comes in and buys in bulk for his friends or for later. Everything moves in slow motion but we actually reach the door first. We are warmly greeted and proceed to explore the inventory. They still have great options and we order our pastries and take a seat. The Adonis finally enters and I look at his shoes! Nailed it!! Although he was very French, he did not pose a threat as he was interested in lunch and not our beloved pastries. The pastries, (Pains Aux Raisins and Cheese) were wonderfully decadent and delicious. They not only have pastries but also have other offerings such as croissants, sandwiches, quiche, soup and also bottled beverages. I can't imagine walking in here and ordering a savory snack because my brain is just not wired that way. I immediately think sweet treat and I go hard!! This is a nice small bakery and it is just what a pastry shop should be: simple and delicious. The owner is always there to warmly greet us and make us feel welcomed. If you are in the area, you must stop in and explore their options. You will thank me!

Summary: Great breakfast and desserts, open early, soon will be getting more coffee drinks. I kept seeing this place and never got a chance to check it out. Opportunity arose when a friend wanted to meet super early. I know this place opens early and closes early so we wanted to try it. When you first walk in, it looks small, very mom and pop. I love that about this place. The owner sounds like he has a French accent, so it very well might be authentic. All the pastries we tried were amazing. They will be getting iced coffees and other caffeinated drinks soon too so I see even more potential coming up for this place. We got the turkey, egg, and cheese croissant, a chicken turnover-type thing which I could not pronounce (starts with an F), a fruit tart, and a blueberry bar. Everything was amazing! The croissant was crisp, but flakey and cheesy. The chicken turnover had a great ratio of chicken to turnover. The fruit tart had fruits that tasted sweet with a crust that was crispy, which provided great contrast. the blueberry bar was heavy, but luckily I shared half with my friend. The owner was really friendly and easy to talk to and ask questions. My friend and I were easily able to talk and hang out for a long time without worrying about giving up our seats or judgement, which was nice. I'm looking forward to coming back again and trying other desserts and maybe also a panini.

What a great restaurant! I decided to take my wife here for lunch to remind us of our honeymoon in Paris. The food reminded me of our lunch in Versailles except it was much better here and at a much more reasonable price. I'm assuming the guy that took our order was the owner and he represented his business the way one should. Keep up the good work and food! We will definitely be back. At the very least to try the pastries.

I also ordered two eclairs and a butter croissant. My husband love croissants. I tried one of the eclairs, which is odd for me since I generally don't like sweet things. I was immediately struck by the freezer taste of the eclair. It was disappointing. Hubby actually liked the eclair, but found his croissant to be too doughy. He much preferred the ones from Sweet Tentations on Holcomb Bridge. I generally only eat grainy wheat bread, so this country white thing was the thing I had the lowest hopes for. I used it to make us some grilled turkey, bacon and Swiss sandwiches for dinner that night and they were so, so good. I also may or may not have stolen a few of the smaller pieces from the loaf, slathered them with butter and loved them. Not sure if I would make a special trip again, but if I did it would surely be in the morning.

I've been here twice for lunch, and both times the food was exceptional. The chicken pesto panini is delicious, the chicken is moist and the pesto is some of the best I have ever tasted. I have also tried the veggie sandwich on a baguette. The bread itself is crisp on the outside, yet soft and delicate inside, basically perfect. The sandwich is stuffed full of grilled and fresh veggies that are complemented by a delicious balsamic mayo. Finally, all the pastries in the counter look fantastic. I tried the fruit tart and it was to die for, I'll definitely be going back to try more of the other options.

This place is fantastic! I got the veggie sandwich on 7 grain with tomato basil soup. Dining partner got the Brittany with onion soup. My only complaint was that the spoon wasn't big enough so I couldn't get enough soup in my mouth at one time. I wanted to eat slowly to savor the food, but it was too good to slow down. Both breads were amazing. Just the right balance of crunchy and chewy, and very flavorful. We split an almond croissant for dessert, and oh boy, so good. When we left, we agreed we were too full to eat more, but wanted to try. We'll be back soon!

The bread. Oh, the bread. Did I mention BREAD!?! Excellent. I'm never one to say no to a french bakery. Well, I never say no to most any food but french pastries and baked goods are some of my favorite things in the world. At the Georgia French Bakery & Cafe you'll find a wide selection of those as well as soups, salads, quiches and sandwiches. Yum, yum. First, the space is very simple and sparse. This isn't a cozy place at all. Rather it focuses on functional. You come in, get your stuff and either eat it at a tiny table or you leave with it in hand. That's it. You order at the counter. You get your own drinks. No frills. The owner is very nice and was patient as we tried to decide on which pastries to buy after we ordered our sandwiches. We just ended up buying all the goods instead of having to choose but more on that later. Let's talk about the sandwiches! I got the caprese (tomato, pesto and mozzarella) and my husband got a ham thingie combo with chips and a drink (bottled water). Both of our order came on a baguette but you can choose from several different types of breads. While the mixings/fixings weren't the highest quality or the most astounding flavor, the bread was DIVINE. I could've just eaten a big pile of that. I still could. Good, basic food. The ceasar salad was fine. Nothing exciting but decent sized and extra dressing was offered at no charge. Now, for the baked goods. The eclair was good as was the apple tart. The apple pear oatmeal square was freaking delicious. The fruit tart, the cinnamon twist, the chocolate ganache cake and the cherry tart were all meh. I've had much better but I've also had a LOT worse. I think we ordered some of the wrong things. Next time it'll be croissants all the way! And more oatmeal squares. Like I said before, the owner was incredibly helpful and nice. We didn't have to pay til the end of our meal because he wanted us to be able to take our time. He even tossed in a free dessert because we went sugar crazy. I could tell he was well known by many folks who were coming and going, and was well liked too. You can buy bread in bulk and we are going to do that next time we go. Which will be soon, hopefully! Hours are 7am-4pm Monday - Friday.

I discovered this place while hanging out with my friend who doesn't live in Duluth. Found this gem via yelp and figured why not? The shop is sort of hidden in plain sight so if you're having trouble, look next to the enterprise building. It's the second or third shop in the red brick buildings. So far I've tried their Paninis, the tomato soup (I think it was tomato basil, but I'm not sure), the chocolat éclair, apple normandies, quiche, and blueberry scone. They bake their pastries and bread daily so you should probably get there before they run out! Paninis: I love, love, love their paninis. There's one with chicken and pesto sandwiched between fresh bread. Their pesto is made with almonds instead of pine nuts and I actually prefer it like that. Pastries: The pastries that I've listed above are all delectable. There's a lot of others that I've yet to try as well. The chocolat éclair is filled with custard so it's a little towards the sweeter side. I'd recommend it with a good cup of coffee, black, preferably. The blueberry scone is my favorite so far. It is huge. Like twice the size of a blueberry scone from Starbucks and almost the same price. It's not very sweet so I love it even more. Definitely getting more of those. I've never heard of the apple normandies until now. It consists of glazed apple slices baked on a strip of pastry. It's very different and I really like it. It's sweet but not too sweet. Lastly, the quiche. What can I say? It was absolutely perfect. Not too cheesy, not too salty and it was big enough to share between two people. It was in the refrigerated display case so the owner asked if we would like for it to be heated up. Best decision of my life. The crust was delicious. It was a bit buttery but the crispy flakes made up for that. The egg filling itself was very light. Honestly, I would've eaten it all myself, but I decided to share. The food and the service was and is still amazing. The only downside is the store interior. I wish that this shop's business would allow it to expand. The location is a bit hard to find and the shop itself is a bit small. Definitely recommend to anyone and everyone.

Yes!! This place is awesome. Really good pastries and desserts. Really good sandwiches too. I had a turkey sandwich for lunch one day along with a cold apple tart that was really good. The almond croissants are really good too as others have said! They do sell out tho, so beware! The almond croissant has an almond fillings inside of it and chocolate and powered sugar on top, I didn't realize it was so legit until I took it out of the box later. I would not recommend the scones, it was more like a cake than a scone. But if that's your thing then ok!

First visit to the bakery. I stopped in at 8 am for breakfast after dropping my car off for service at a nearby dealer. Found the location on a Yelp search. All the pastry's looked excellent. I first ate the ham, egg, and cheese croissant. The egg-ham-cheese were standard fair. The croissant, however, was excellent. I enjoyed it enough to order a second croissant without the breakfast food. Staffed by the owner with a couple of assistants. Nice local place. The type of independent business we need to continue to support. Come in and enjoy.

Thanks, Yelp, for helping me find this place! By way of background, I lived in France for a year, and thus am familiar with what a quality French bakery is like. Georgia French Bakery definitely fits the mold of a quality French Bakery. Now I have not tried the sandwiches, so readers should refer to other reviews that cover those. I have had a variety of pastries and also the country French bread. All are excellent. I particularly like the almond croissant, the cranberry-pear-oatmeal square, the pastry danish, and the country french bread. The almond croissant is very rich and flavorful, and gives you a nice balance between the butteryness/flakiness of the croissant, and the richness of the filling, which is almond paste and creme. The cranberry-pear oatmeal square kind of seems like a cross between the pastry part of a lemon bar, the topping of a cobbler, and the inside part - I am not sure how to best describe it, but it had a good balance of flavors. The country french bread is very well done, and the pastry danish brings back memories of France. Furthermore, the items are a great value. The one thing I might note is that the coffee is not stellar. The quality of the bread and pastries, as well as the value, still keeps this a solid 5 stars. This is clearly the best bakery in Duluth, and the best one I have been to in Georgia. It would surely rank highly just about anywhere. If you enjoy fine coffee, just have some before or after you go to Georgia French Bakery. And as a final note, as other reviewers have mentioned, the owner, Olivier, is very nice, and really cares about customers.

What a great restaurant! I decided to take my wife here for lunch to remind us of our honeymoon in Paris. The food reminded me of our lunch in Versailles except it was much better here and at a much more reasonable price. I'm assuming the guy that took our order was the owner and he represented his business the way one should. Keep up the good work and food! We will definitely be back. Excellent little place to eat for lunch! The owner is very friendly and accommodating and the food is delicious. However, be warned there aren't a lot of tables and chairs so it's better suited for small groups for the "eat in" option. However, if you and a friend are in the mood for a delicious panini or gourmet sandwich you can't go wrong with the GA France Bakery and Cafe!

Georgia French Bakery & Cafe is simply fantastic. The pastries are amazing and always fresh. I buy a loaf of country french bread every time I stop in. My go-to lunch is the salami sandwich on country french. The spread on the sandwich is a little sweet, which I normally wouldn't like, but I think works very well with the salami. Oliver (the owner) is extremely friendly and rarely picks on me for purchasing way too many sweets. In my defense, it is a bit far from home and I don't get to stop in as often as I'd like - you have to take advantage of the opportunities life presents!

I love this bakery!! It says something about a place when they are not even open weekends and their hours are from 7 AM- 4PM (normal work hours for people), and yet they are still very popular and successful! If I could only try every single one of their items I highly doubt I that I will dislike any of it! My absolute favorite is the almond croissant, flaky with filling with shaved almonds encrusted on the outside. I would come here every chance I get (any weekday I am off and it's not a holiday). I always bring people who come and visit me from back home. Definitely try this place out!

I came in here around 2pm ish on a Saturday afternoon and I wouldn't say that this place was packed...but definitely not empty. It's a small place, but not too small where I felt cramped. There was a family there munching on some baked goods and another pair sat who probably sat down for lunch (they each got a sandwich and as I was discretely looking over at the sandwiches, it looked like a hearty helping of meat---couldn't tell what kind, I just saw that it was a thick looking sandwich---guess I'll try that next time!). As for me, I got the almond croissant (A MUST, so soft, so fluffy, with that crispy and sweet exterior), a butter croissant (tasted like the kind you get at costco), and the raisin danish (a little bit too sweet for me?). The owner seemed really kind. He packaged up my baked goodies in a box and sealed it with tape---kinda tacky for presentation but whatever! Three pastries cost me $7.03...the almond croissant was by far the most expensive (at $2.55) while the regular, butter croissant was priced at $1.85. The danish was (I think) $2.15 or something. Next time I'll make a stop to try their sandwiches (which will probably be VERY soon since I looooove sandwiches, I was just full from lunch today so didn't order it). As for PASTRIES, I think I'll only stop by once in a while...as a college student, the pricing is a bit steep for my wallet. As I left I overheard one of the customers stating that her cookie was by far the BEST oatmeal raisin cookie she has ever had. Maybe she's a regular or something but that kinda had me wanting to go back to the counter to order one. Thankfully I didn't, but next time along with my sandwich I'll probably sample the cookie too. I give it 4 stars for a verrrrrrry tasty almond croissant.

I love this quaint little bakery. When I first discovered this place (thanks yelp!) I was here probably everyday that week. I have tried the almond croissant, chocolate croissant, butter croissant, cornet a la creme, napoleon, eclair, cinnamon raisin roll, and the Provence panini. And oh my god all of those are beyond great. Personally though, I like the almond croissant and the cornet a la creme the best. It saddens my heart that this bakery is closed on weekends, but what can you do? Oh, and Oliver, the owner, is also very amicable!

This is my favorite place on the earth, almost. Oliver is the owner of this bakery, and he is the nicest man on the planet! He is very helpful if you are having trouble deciding and is always good for conversation! I've been here quite a few times, and tried almost every item on the menu and in the case and you honestly can't go wrong with anything! My favorites are the cheese danish, almond croissant, tomato soup, and the roast beef sandwich. The roast beef sandwich is referred to as "THE BEST SANDWICH IN THE WORLD" by myself and all of the people who've tried it. LOVE this place, wish I lived closer, unfortunately I recently moved about 45 minutes away but that hasn't stopped me from making the trek any chance that I get!

I've been longing to find a place that's not a chain near work for lunch. Leave it to Yelp to point me in the right direction. I got the lunch special a panini with a drink, then you could add any number of other options for an extra $1 or so. I decided on the caprese panini and a double chocolate cookie. The cookie alone was worth the trip. It was big, soft, & chocolately. I got the sandwich to go and it was the longest 5 minute car ride back to my office. I was a little afraid because it included swiss cheese and I really can't stand swiss, but I couldn't taste it at all. The bread was crusty, the pesto was fresh, and the cheese was gooey. I was definitely a happy girl. It was a little pricier than some of my lunch options, but I'm willing to forgive that because it's a lot fresher and better than my other options. The one thing I'm not nuts about is the location. The parking lot is cramped and oddly angled and it's really easy to overshoot it. There's no way two large cars could pass each other at certain points. I had to drive all way around to park. That's not really their fault, though. The food is solid, so I'll be back. Now I know what to avoid in the parking lot.

This is a great find hidden a strip shopping center. I've eaten here many times. Everything from the sandwiches to the pastries to the fresh bread are great. My favorite sandwich by far is the roast beef, which I usually get in the lunch combo deal. Favorite pastry is the tarte aux fraises (strawberry tart) followed by an eclair. The owner, Olivier, is friendly guy. Feel free to try your French (or German) with him. And don't forget to grab a fresh baguette for dinner later.

You know it's a decent French place if you see the owner speaking with a customer in French. What I didn't expect was the awesomeness of balsamic mayo and the bread. My tongue did dances of joy for the bread's soft flavor and the strong mayo. I was lucky I turned into the strip mall before I saw the place - this place is diagonally across the street from a QT, around the intersection of merchant and satellite. Many times have I passed this place without noticing it - I came here the other day because I didn't want Korean food, and needed something for lunch. Thanks to Yelp and their map tool. My order was $9 for a full sandwich and almond croissant. Croissant was around $3. I got the roast beef sandwich. I was tempted to get the 1/2 sandwich with a soup for $6.5, but I wasn't too hungry. I got 1/2 of my sandwich and the pastry to go, which was a good choice since by the time I finished my 1/2, I was pretty stuffed. Had the leftovers later and the sandwich was still good; croissant was pretty good, although I wasn't a fan of the drizzled chocolate on top. The roast beef sandwich tasted great because of two things: the balsamic mayo was good, and the bread was good. That's what made the sandwich. I sat at a table and enjoyed my sandwich, reading a TIME magazine. Noticed a couple of business people drop by on their lunch break. The place: small bakery, with 5 small round tables and seating at the window. Not a lot of room to maneuver between tables (almost none), but many people get their food to go. The owner is friendly and kind, but the interior of this place could be improved. Although I'm rating this place 5 stars, I wouldn't say that I'm in love with the place - I just really enjoyed that sandwich. Great place to get the food to go. One morning I drove all around the Pleasant Hill Mall area searching for a real bakery that sold fresh blueberry muffins. I had given up when I happened to glance up while passing GA French Bakery. The items in the display all looked good. A spot for blueberry scones was empty, so I chose the fruit tart. It had ruby-red strawberries and bright kiwis and mandarin oranges (a full serving) over a creamy yet not too sweet custard and a delightful crust. I will definitely return. The quality is better than pastries I have been eating at swanky Atlanta-area bakeries lately and come with a lower price tag. However, the owner does require a minimum purchase for credit card usage. He provided tasty food and charming service. While I was there, several regulars stopped by for their morning fix.

This fantastic bakery is a few hundred feet from the Talbot's Outlet near Gwinnett Mall. I've been a customer for several years, and the French owner is ALWAYS there. The breads are fantastic ($3.15 a loaf). My indulgence for lunch is either the chicken or spinich friand. YUMMY! For dessert, try one of the fabulous eclairs or a cinnamon roll. I do love the bakeries inside the Perimeter, but the GA French Bakery is one of the reasons why GWINNETT is GREAT (like the old water tower said!).

Did you know? They are opened until 4pm on Weekdays to provide you guys the freshest, fluffiest baked goods. I don't know of any other authentic French bakery in the area The owner in there definitely has a sexy french accent and is super duper nice. I came in a little bit early at like 10am and didn't want to go through the trouble of coming back for lunch. He offered to cook me a panini right away so I could have it for later. He's good. The only minus I'd have to say about this place is the lack of seating. They have 1 table and I'm not sure if you can sit there. There was an employee folding boxes when I walked in. If you come here, plan on taking your stuff to go. They have an assortment of cookies, scones, tartes, and cakes to meet any desire. I got the chocolate croissant recommended by all the yelpers and its pretty good stuff. They smear a little bit of chocolate inside the puffed up pastry. It's sweet, but not too sweet -- which is what I personally prefer. When I try the sandwich, I'll tell you guys about it later. All of the items are available at great prices. I can mix and match, with each thing costing about $2. The panini came with chips for $5.95. That's fantastic. Oh and the minimum credit card purchase is $5. So bring cash or buy more! I'll be back to this hole-in-the-wall any day. 5 stars for I'd go out of my way for this one.

First let's start with something interesting, their business hour. Mon-Friday 8:00-4:00, And closed on Saturday and Sunday.. While they sell their baked goodies in a decent price, how they can keep up with this place? I "accidently" run into this place at around 8:30 in the morning and when i first walked in, no fancy tables, no fancy utensils, no fancy nothing, it's just a plain European style bakery. The selection was not that abundant, but hey, guess what. They have some BEST baked goods I've tasted a long time ago. I had a Almond Crossant,Cheese Danish and that was some of the best stuff i've had in a long time....not too sweet but sure it was really fulfilling.. I have been to other European bakeries in the city but this one sure is the best in your stomach and your wallet.

A nice little place for lunch, amazing fresh bread and pastries. Fresh baked bread, what more can I say. You pick which bread you would like, cold or hot sandwich. Very small inside, and hard to spot from the road. Very nice man at the register, which I think he is the owner. Nothing fancy, but the sandwiches make up for it. Meals run about $6.00 for a large sandwich and chips. Chocolate croissant is an added benefit.

Another 5 star review for the GA French Bakery. A nice selection of sandwiches, paninis, soups (usually just french onion and/or minnestrone) and salads. Frionds are also another lunch choice, but they are in the pastry counter. Puff style pastry wrapped around turkey, ham or veggies with a creamy bechamel sauce. The bread here is excellent, as you would hope as it's a bakery first and foremost. Sometimes he is out of baguettes when I show up for lunch. But usually not. The last baguette I bought there was half eaten by the time I got it home. Deserts are great too. My favs include the almond croissant and the brownies. They didn't take credit cards which stopped me from going so often. But now they do so I've started going more frequently and the quality has not dropped one bit.

It's time to expose the best kept secret in Ga. Tucked away in Duluth is this extraordinary little Cafe called the GA Bakery. You might pass it every day and not even notice, but rest assured, once you've been there you'll never forget it. Fresh pastries, breads, cakes and the best fresh sandwiches. Sure there are a lot of cafe's and sandwich shops in the Atlanta area, but few have such good food and goodies. The GA Bakery's prices are more than reasonable for the high quality and standards. Equal to the edible excellence is Oliver, the owner. He brings his own charm to the bakery and is never without a smile or a kind word. His mastery of his art is apparent when you look through the displays of tasty treats. The care of preparation and attention to detail is obvious with the first scrumptious bite of any of Oliver's creations. But don't take my word for it! Go to the GA Bakery and see for yourself. You won't regret it.

You gotta try this place! My Mom & I went today and had minestrone and half a panini, made on a fresh baguette. Delicious! And yes, the croissants are amazing... ******************** Edited on 9/6/08: Every time I visit, I see a beautiful Tatin Tart, so I finally decide to purchase one. It's an upside-down apple tart in which the apples are caramelized in butter and sugar before the tart is baked. This one yields about eight slices, and is a bargain at $8.95. I take it home, slightly warm a slice in the microwave, then enjoy with a small scoop of vanilla bean ice cream. Perfection! Another must is the Cheese Danish. Trust me.

I had a very pleasant experience today at the GA french bakery. The owner was very kind, and the place was clean. The food was excellent, I got the chocolate mousse cake and my husband had a cinnamon bun. Both were very nice sized and very yummy! My husband also got a roasted chicken sandwich which he enjoyed. We both had some coffee--which was only passable--barely. The best thing we bought was a loaf of country french bread, amazing, and reasonably priced. My biggest suggestion for the bakery would be to move from plasticware and styrofoam cups to real glasses and silverware. I think if they did, it would easily be a 5 star place.

Wow, all 5's before my review. To me, it seemed great, but today's experience was a borderline 4. Some good aspects are: the breads, the great aroma, and the quaintness and authenticity (see my review of the E. 48th Street Market). A couple of negatives, though: they were out of the bread that was my first choice (Italian semolina); the French touches (see my review of La Mediterranee)--too heavy on the cheeses and sauces; and the host, while very friendly and cheerful, was kinda obsequious, a little overkill with the "yes sir" this and "yes sir" that. To complete this "sandwich" review (good-bad-good)--pun intended--More goodness on the sweets. We had a sampling of some cookies, scones, and pastries, and want to return for more.

You think "sandwiches" can't possibly be that mind-blowing, right? Wrong. This little bakery goes above and beyond. I really believe that it's the bread that makes or breaks the sandwich, not necessarily what goes inside. This place stands by that philosophy. Found in a small, unassuming shopping strip, it's easy to drive right past it and not notice. Definitely more of a bakery than a cafe -- I wouldn't recommend dining in. It's a tiny space, and although there are tables inside, you'd literally be sitting in front of the pastry window. Well, I guess that's not necessarily a bad thing, is it? The sandwiches are pretty awesome. The bread is definitely fresh, as in freshly baked that morning. Soft, fluffy, and moist, this is how I'd envision the bread, walking down the streets of Paris. The owners are native French as well, which adds to the charm. The chicken pesto sandwich is one of the best things on the menu. The chicken is nicely roasted, and their pesto spread is so flavorful. The portions are huge, so be armed with a huge appetite or save the other half for another meal. Great value though! Remember to grab a cookie or other pastry for dessert. To die for!

Okay so this is how It happened. I work right off of Satellite Blvd so I pass this spot everyday. I must have been in a daze and decided to glance around. So I see the sign for the Ga French Bakery. I immediately zoned in on Bakery, because I love sweets. I definitely put it on the radar to drop in at lunch time. The place is not huge but those are always the best spots. I walked up to the case and saw Carrot Cake, Cheese Cake, Fruit Tarts, Fresh Cookies, Danishes, Scones the list is endless. Not to mention he does not charge an arm and a leg. I decided to get a slice of carrot cake and it was so good I had to get another slice the next day. He gives you a big piece so you get more than your moneys worth. I have to stop in for Lunch one day. Definitely no disappoints

Sorry to say I don't agree with the other reviewers. The only reaon I wanted to give this place a try was the high remark yelpers rave about this place. The place is small inside and hidden away. I've driven by this place many time without a second glance. The hub got cheese Danish and honey maple sandwich which both he said was OK. I got the canoli which I thought tasted old and the salami sandwich was decent. We wanted to try the chocolate croissant but sold out. I don't think I will be returning back anytime soon.

This little hole in the wall of Satellite is awesome! The spot is perfect for a lunch or breakfast pick-up and go. There are only 2 or 3 tables in front of the display case that holds all sorts of delicious pastries. The fresh made sandwiches are assembled by the owner himself prepared on your choice of bread and are always great. I don't know how many times I drove past this place before finally going in. Don't make the same mistake, check out GA French Bakery for yourself!

Excellent little place to eat for lunch! The owner is very friendly and accommodating and the food is delicious. However, be warned there aren't a lot of tables and chairs so it's better suited for small groups for the "eat in" option. However, if you and a friend are in the mood for a delicious panini or gourmet sandwich you can't go wrong with the GA France Bakery and Cafe!

I went here for lunch with family and ordered the Provence panini (chicken), the Tuscany (prosciutto) panini, and another panini with beef. They were simple and yummy. The Tuscany was my favorite; the others had a creaminess that I don't expect in French sandwiches. We also ordered several pastries: almond croissant, napoleon, chocolate peanut butter cookie, cranberry pear oat crumble. The almond croissant is amazing- it has custard as well as almond filling, making it not as sweet as almond croissants tend to be. The layers in the napoleon were perfectly flaky and crispy, and the custard was just firm enough to not squish into a horrible mess when you bite into it. The coffee was pretty watered down, but was coffee-like enough to go with the pastries. The decor could be neater, but the owner is so friendly that you feel comfortable regardless!

I totally disagree with all the reviewers. The food did not taste fresh to me. I got the eclair and it tasted quite stale and my daughter got the napoleon . She said she only ate it because the sandwich didn't fill her up and she was still hungry. We both got panni's. I got the Tuscany and she got the veggie (the only veggie in it was a tomato) I have never been to France so can't say if it authenic or not, it definitely did not appeal to my American palate.

This place have the best croissants. The most delicious ones that I've ever had..If this is how French pastries taste like then I don't see the point going to France. Love love love everything about this place including the owner. Reviews won't give this place justice you have to eat there to see for yourself.

Thanks, Yelp, for helping me find this place! By way of background, I lived in France for a year, and thus am familiar with what a quality French bakery is like. Georgia French Bakery definitely fits the mold of a quality French Bakery. Now I have not tried the sandwiches, so readers should refer to other reviews that cover those. I have had a variety of pastries and also the country French bread. All are excellent. I particularly like the almond croissant, the cranberry-pear-oatmeal square, the pastry danish, and the country french bread. The almond croissant is very rich and flavorful, and gives you a nice balance between the butteryness/flakiness of the croissant, and the richness of the filling, which is almond paste and creme. The cranberry-pear oatmeal square kind of seems like a cross between the pastry part of a lemon bar, the topping of a cobbler, and the inside part - I am not sure how to best describe it, but it had a good balance of flavors. The country french bread is very well done, and the pastry danish brings back memories of France. Furthermore, the items are a great value. The one thing I might note is that the coffee is not stellar. The quality of the bread and pastries, as well as the value, still keeps this a solid 5 stars. This is clearly the best bakery in Duluth, and the best one I have been to in Georgia. It would surely rank highly just about anywhere. If you enjoy fine coffee, just have some before or after you go to Georgia French Bakery. And as a final note, as other reviewers have mentioned, the owner, Olivier, is very nice, and really cares about customers.

I am extremely compelled to update my review, which means I am maintaining my 5-star rating. This bakery is magical and I have been back a couple times since I reviewed it last year. I have tried the eclairs on several occasions and would daresay that it is the best that I've had in the States. Besides its authenticity, it is fresh. The cream in the center is just sweet enough and the pate a choux is perfection. It's light, airy, and has just the right crispiness to it. But today, I am writing to inform you all about the baguette. This is the only bread that I've had so far from here and I was lucky to have it hug my chicken, tomato, pesto, and mozzarella (in conjunction, they formed the Provence panini) for lunch. Since starting a new job at the beginning of this year, I haven't been able to make it to the bakery because it is only open Monday through Friday, from 7:30 am till 4 pm. "How do they stay in business," you may be wondering. I have often wished that the bakery had extended hours, but after my stop in today around 1 pm, I realize why the owner chooses this schedule. First off (not to generalize), the French have a different attitude about work. They do it as a means to an end, which is to enjoy life. While Americans may judge them for countless things, this is one thing that I admire and envy (being an American myself, I probably work too much). Now that I have a different philosophy about life, I probably would do the same thing as he does, if I were just successful enough to get the most of my life. And for me, at this stage, material things don't do it like they used to. I love seeing the sky as the sun sets, feeling the breeze of a warm spring day, you know, all those cheesy things that others like too but choose not to express. Anyway... The owner (who I gather is named Oliver from the reviews, but I've never asked him in person for his name, nor have I used it--out of politeness) closes up shop at 4, yet by 1 almost everything is sold out. Even brioche, which I would have brought home had it been available. (I secretly wanted an eclair and if that had been in the case, it probably would already be in my belly by now.) Great success! Service is amazingly warm and kind, which is semi-unlike the service I got at some business establishments in Paris. The owner is genuinely concerned about his customers' satisfaction and asked me today twice if I was doing okay. I was more than okay. Because this panini was probably one of the best things I've ever eaten. I understand why the French take 2 hours to eat now. I was truly savoring the sandwich and I wished it would never end, so I chewed slowly and I tasted each ingredient. It was a sandwich with very few ingredients, but they were all high-quality and absolutely delicious. I was tempted to get a piece of blueberry bread pudding but since I gorged last night on German food, I tried to exhibit some self-restraint. Bf comes home soon and I'm wondering if I should drag him there to get a sandwich... I already took home two croissants for us (which are among my favorites in Atlanta--a toss-up between this bakery and the other French one in Chamblee that I've reviewed). But if we go there and there is still a piece of bread pudding left, who knows what may happen...

I hate to say it, but this place is really mediocre. The owner was lovely, and the other patrons seemed happy, so I won't go on about it, but both the sandwiches and the desserts were disappointing. When it comes to little places like this I usually just abstain from reviewing if it's not that good, but given the number of positive reviews, I wanted to add some balance. I hope someone does open an amazing French bakery OTP, but this is not it.

It was still early in the morning and I was very happy that I didn't miss out getting the good stuff including the chocolate eclairs! Oh oh oh oh my goodness were they the most delicious chocolate eclairs I've ever had! These were better than the ones I've had at Publix! So much better and they had the perfect sweetness to it, too! Yes yes yes I'm definitely a fan of their chocolate eclairs! My mom had the almond croissant and I had the choco croissant which was AMAZING!!

From a business perspective, this is the groundwork all restaurants should learn. Owned and operated by an extremely amiable man, Olivier, every customer is treated with respect and much consideration. Sandwiches, breads (which are free of preservatives) and pastries are baked with quality in mind over quantity, daily. Having experienced nearly the entire menu, I've found nothing short of great. The sweets are a perfect balance of creaminess and a light, airy touch while the paninis are as delicious as sandwiches get. The quiches, however, are, without question, the best available anywhere. The epitome of good, quality food.

I'm almost without words to describe how good the food here is. Stopped in for the first time today to see if they had chocolate croissants. Bought 2 plus a ham quiche. The croissants are great, and the quiche is hands down the best quiche I have ever had. Absolutely amazing. I will echo what others have said about the owner as well. You could not ask for a more delightful, amiable store owner. I will be back. A lot.
