This is sad to say. I don't know how this restaurant stays open. There is seldom anyone dining here. Food is okay. Service is spotty. They wait on you if they remember. I wish they they had a good management and training staff. This could be a gold mine in Georgia. Good seafood restaurants are rare and coveted.

It has been at least 10 years since my wife and I had eaten at Joes Crap Shack. We came in at 4:30 to a almost empty dinning room. It took over 10 minutes for our waitress to even come and greet up. Finally took our drink order along with our food order. After that it took another 10 minutes to get our drinks. Both ordered clam chowder. Mine was actually cold. My wife's cup was warm but not hot. We ate it because we were hungry. They finally got our entree out to us around 5:00. My wife had crab boil and I had fish and chips. She loved her dinner but mine was horrible. The fish was in a think fried batter. I removed the batter to try and eat the fish. That fish was not the Cod they used to use but a Pollock. It tasted bad. I asked for extra tarter sauce to help but that didn't do it. I ate the fries because they were the only thing edible. My tea glass ran out and I had to wait for another 10 minutes before I found a manager to ask for more tea. A different waitress finally brought me a refill. Our waitress came by and asked how everything was. I told her my wife enjoyed her meal but mine tasted like crap. The manager Mike, came over and I explained the situation. He said that corporate had changed the type of fish and yes many people had complained about it. He gave us a free appetizer on our next visit. We paid our check and left. Within 30 mins of leaving I was sick as a dog from what I ate. I will never step foot or waste my hard earned money in this place. If you want to get people in, do some big ass changes. I hope everyone will read this and take heed.

Awful awful. Wish I could give this place a -5 stars. Needs new management!!!! I should have pay attention to the reviews. Great location. That's the only good thing about the place. Should have know it was going to be bad when there was no wait on a Saturday night.

I've come to this location twice and because of this location I will never go to another joe's crab Shack. Upon walking in the door to an almost empty restaurant on a Saturday night at 530 pm we were told we would have a wait when there were over 20 empty and clean tables. We waited 15 minutes and left. This has happened both trips to this location. No effort was made to apologize for delay when having open tables. They had 5 hostesses and 3 servers but we were supposed to wait an undetermined length of time to be seated. Never again will I ever go to joe's crab Shack. Food isn't that great to put up with this kind of stupidity.

They wouldn't let my husband get a drink because his ID says "under 21 until MAY OF TWENTY TEN." Five years ago people. He has had drinks at the restaurant multiple times. We've eaten there multiple times. It's clear why they have no business. The waitress was terrible. We walked out without ordering food (because she left us there 15 minutes to find "her manager"). We will NEVER go back again. TERRIBLE SERVICE. Food has been mediocre in the past, but we've gone back before. Never again.

I've been to a few Joe's in different locations, and I've been to the Douglasville Joe's about 4 times. I would call the experience inconsistent. Sometimes ok, but sometimes bad. This last time was probably the worst. We went at 630 on a Saturday night expecting a short wait, but we were seated right away. Yay. It was pretty crowded, and the manager (or a server, not sure) yelled at the hostess right in front of us to stop seating people. Booo. Once seated, there was a wait to place our drink order, and then another wait of 15 minutes more just to get our drinks. The bar was "a little backed up." Our drinks came out with out appetizers. Our waitress was very good though, both apologetic and responsive. The food at Joe's is fine. The main problem I have with this chain is the cost. I get it. Crab is expensive. It just seems like for $80 for two people (who only got one drink each because of the slowness), I would expect more and better food. At the hibachi place across the street (our first choice, but which had a wait of over an hour at 6pm), you get twice the food for slightly less money. The service has been a mix of good and bad. We went a few months ago with family from out of town. There were 10 of us and the service was outstanding. But twice, we've gone with just the two of us, and the wait for drinks and food was not acceptable. I don't hate Joe's, but I don't think we are going to be going back anytime very soon. For the same money, you get a slightly better meal at Red Lobster, and usually better service. Oh and one other thing. They do that stupid car wash song where all the wait staff dances in the aisles. It's not like singing happy birthday. The song is long. Is management (usually at the corporate level) so dumb, they don't see that making wait staff do this makes customers wait longer for their orders? It's not cute. It's not kitchy. It's just a distraction that I know the staff hates.

Went here with a family of seven at approximately 5:00 on a Saturday. The restaurant was fairly empty and we were seated quickly. After we ordered our drinks all that were non alcoholic were served quickly, bar drinks took about 15 minutes. We didn't receive our food order for about 45 minutes. I don't usually mind waiting for food I take that as a good sign that my food isn't being microwaved. The problem in this case is that 4 of the 7 meals were wrong. Wrong sides and the boil I ordered contained only one of the ingredients I actually ordered. None of our food arrived with any condiments and getting them took about ten more minutes. We sat around and figured we would have drinks. They took about 20 minutes to come out. It was just a pain the food was a little pricey but decent. The real problems was the crap service.

Service was HORRIBLE. The place was empty but we Waited 20 minutes and had to ask a manager for a waitress to get our drink orders. Appetizer was okay but the food was less than expected. Our waitress tried, I will give her that because our table was not hers but she helped us anyway. She got a tip! First time ever trying Joe's Crabshack and I don't think I will be back. This location needs proper management to provide structure and discipline!! Overall it was just Not worth the price I paid.

Second time I've been here, first time as a Yelper. Read all the reviews and the truth is, this place does have a time management problem. It's not the servers fault tho, it's just the product. It takes a while to cook seafood and make it properly. Honestly I'm okay with that because I'd rather wait 10 extra minutes then get sick. Started with the Crab Nachos! Great choice. You can get it with or without pico. The first time I went her I got the rajin Cajun. Probably my favorite! Also had two of their mason jar drinks (alcoholic) they never disappoint. This time I settled on the KJ pot. The only draw back was that it is the only one that doesn't come with sausage. With the provide bid, cracker, and lobster Sheller I digged in. It takes a lot as far as sea food is concerned to get me full. This got close lol. Crab legs, scallops and oysters. One thing that always comes with your pot is corn on the Cobb and two potato balls. They are always delicious but I like them best on the rajin Cajun plate because of the seasoning combination. Price wise you will be paying a pretty penny. Minimum pot is $18 Max is $40. They do have other stuff, hamburgers, chicken tenders, but give the name "Joes crab shack" you are passing on a great opportunity. So overall just he patient. Your food will come, and if you come when it's really busy (night time) you might want to go somewhere else if you're trying to get full fast.

Out of ALL the restaurants I've been to this place has the BEST service, everyone is so polite and helpful. And to add to the great service the food is good and they have a full bar Lol

I usually come into Joe's and sit at the bar and have never had a problem. The young woman behind the bar has ALWAYS been cheerful and pleasant and takes good care of her customers. Food is average for a seafood chain but nothing to complain about - always comes out hot and in a timely manner. Thanks for a great job!

Awful. We waited over an hour for our server to finally come check on us to tell us that half the food was ready and the other half was not. No refills on drinks, no one checked on us, and no manager.

We visited this location about a month ago for the first time and had a really good experience. So, at the end of a long, stressful work week, we decided to treat ourselves again. Unfortunately, the experience was quite different. We arrived at 9pm and had to wait nearly 10 minutes at the hostess stand before we were finally seated. The young girl didn't smile or greet us or any of the other guests who were also patiently waiting. A scan of the restaurant showed most of the booths occupied and none of the tables were being used. Several tables had not been cleaned from the previous guests. Less than half the tables were occupied. We were finally seated and given our menus. This was the last time we were visited at our table. There didn't appear to be a shortage of servers, especially for the number of occupied tables. I believe it's poor leadership and lack of focus on the customer. There were at least 3 different servers, as well as the 2 girls who were supposed to have been working the hostess stand who passed by our table close enough to have touched it, but not one of them acknowledged us. We were not offered a glass of water or asked if we had been helped. They made eye contact but walked past. I did notice that a booth, which was empty when we were seated, was occupied. Their waiter was at their table taking their order when we were at the 10 minute point of our wait. I wish we could have been seated there. He was a tall, African-American man with dreads. He appeared to be the only one in the dining area who was focused on the right thing. Kudos to him. At the 15 minute mark with not a single acknowledgement, we decided to leave. The service at Olive Garden was much better. I don't believe we will ever darken the doorstep at Joe's again. Leadership needs an overhaul!

The service was ok. But the food was gross. The clam chowder tasted like a bargin can of soup. The crab rice tasted worse than like something you would put in the microwave and Crab there was no crab to be found. The $2.00 apps not worth it go to the store and get some frozen seafood it will be better I promise you

We came here for our son's birthday. He loves crab! The service was VERY slow. We were at the restaurant about 2 hours and half of that time was waiting for food! I understand that shell fish takes time to cook, but i got a salad and my fiance and daughter got fried things. the only one who ordered crab was our son. Little was done to speed things up and it seemed like server could care less we had waited 45 min for food. Food is ok, not great. but probably wont come back..

Poor service. We had to chase down a manager to finally get some service after waiting 15 minutes. Then all our food came out together including our appetizer. They only offered to comp our appetizer. Food was horrible. I will never eat there again.

I came here for one dish that was my favorite then realized its no longer offered. It was fine i got the same concept but with a different fish. The menu changed a little since my last visit but it was for the better. There entire crew change which was for the better because the service/customer service is so much better at the location.

45 min wait on food in an empty restaurant? Server forgetting to put in my dons food so that's another 10 min then it comes out literally dripping with grease! Manager was very nice, but I'm still not sure what the malfunction was in an empty restaurant for a steam pot, shrimp platter, kids burger, and capt platter? It was like a bootleg Joes. After all if that our bill was still $48? I don't think we will go back, but due to the managers concern at the end we may try it 1 more time...... With a different server because we love the Joes in Miami so much and really can't believe it would be this bad. I hope we are not proven right! Nice managment, but service needs an upgrade with the caring about customer service!

My experience wasn't as bad as some of the other reviewers. It was very empty when we got there though (Tuesday night I think). We didn't wait very long to get drinks ordered but no one seemed to be in a hurry and the food was...okay. I'd definitely hit up a Red Lobster instead of Joe's.

Horrible. The service, the food, the whole entire experience. We ordered to go, it took over an hour. Then when the food finally came out it was completely the wrong order. End up waiting another 15min. for our order. Then come to find out once we arrived at our hotel room, one of the orders only had the meat and with no sides. The food was blah!!! Never planning on going back.

The service here sucks. My waitress did a very poor job with taking my order. The food was blaaa. The dirty rice was over season and the stuffed shrimp weren't seasoned enough. Every time I go to a Joe's I get a steam pot and this time I switched it up. Very bad decision on my part.

Horrible experience. Waited at least 15 minutes before anyone even came to take drink order. Another 15 to get drinks which most were water! Then an hour after ordering we finally saw our waitress who announced only some food was ready not others. We asked to speak to manager who never came. Needless to say we left hungry after wasting over an hour and a half for nothing. And it was dirty. Tables were not bussed. Our table was sticky and gross. And to add insult to injury as we left they asked if we'd like to buy a tee shirt. What a huge disappointment. I think this place needs Restaurant Impossible intervention.

Haven't eaten there too many times but was impressed by the selection. the coconut shrimp was great! The food was well prepared and the waitstaff was friendly. They even gave us coupons for next time the last time we ate there.

Worst experience ever! Out waitress didn't greet for us 10 minutes and then took another 10 to bring us drinks. 40 minutes later she finally came back and said half our food was ready and wanted to know if she should bring half out. We asked for the manager, who was either never told or just never came out because we walked out of the restaurant without eating. Never going back to this location, possibly never a Joe's again

I should've known a chain, tourist-trap seafood joint wouldn't be my cup of tea. But it was a last minute decision and once we sat at the bar, there was no turning back... It was utterly fascinating to watch the endless supply of staff, most of which were just milling around with literally nothing to do - even when the restaurant was close to half-full. They were all congregated at the end of the bar, which was annoying. The drinks were good (margarita in a jar, keepin' it classy! haha - bonus, I got to keep the jar), the food was so-so. We did the sampler starter, those cheesy fried spicy crab balls were the best thing on it IMO, my bf really liked the calamari (eh) and then there was the crab dip, which was all right. Nothin' special. We got one of the steam pots which was juuust enough to share (I somehow pictured more food based on the photos in the menu), the one that comes with scallops (3), crab legs (2 bunches), mussels (10 - but 4 of them never opened!), potatoes (2) and an ear of corn. It had a white wine butter sauce on it that was very, very tasty. Five stars for that sauce, yum. Zero stars for nearly half our mussels being bad! I politely asked if we could get a few more and they brought us out 10 more (one was closed, but who's counting), comped on the check - as it should've been. Overall, good customer service. Okay food. Probably won't go back...I'll just bide my time until I can get to the beach for a real seafood platter...

My book club and I visited this location last night. I hadn't been to a Joe's Crab Shack in about a year, so I was interested in seeing if they had new items on the menu and if the service would be better in this location than it had been in the Morrow location. I arrived first out of the four of us and I was seated in about 5 minutes. This was after the confusion of a party leaving without paying for their meal. O_o The hostesses were friendly, even though they were in a frenzy about what had just happened. After I was seated, the another member of the book club arrived and we were waited on. The waitress did not give us her name the first time she arrived, and we had to ask her for it. She seemed a little frazzled because she was busy. We ordered drinks and appetizers after the third member showed up. I ordered the side Caesar salad and an Arnold Palmer, my best friend ordered a Strawberry Comfort and the Crazy Good Crab Dip, and my other friend ordered a Tie Dye Swirl and a side House salad. The Caesar salad was pretty big to be a side, which is a plus for me. The Arnold Palmer was mixed perfectly. My friend really enjoyed her Strawberry Comfort so much that she ordered two. The other friend also liked her drink. I had a taste of the crab dip, and it was delicious! Our waitress was attentive after things died down, and we found out her name was GiGi. The fourth member of the group was running late and asked that we order for her. We ordered the Santolla Steam Pot, the Crab Daddy Feast, Joe's Classic Steam Pot, and Joe's Surf and Turf Burger. The fourth member arrived shortly after we ordered the entrees and to drink she has the Rockin' Poppin' Pomegranate Margarita. She also enjoyed her drink, and ordered a second. We received our entrees quickly. The Santolla Steam Pot, which is what I ordered, included 3 King crab legs, about 8 clams, 4 mussels, an ear of corn, a smoked sausage, and two little new potatoes. I was enjoying it until I popped a clam into my mouth and was met with the sandiest, rubberiest bit of seafood I'd ever encountered. As my first experience with clams and mussels, this was not a pleasurable impression. I ended up leaving the others in the pot. The mussels were good, but I found that they don't meticulously clean them as they should. I had to pull a beard from one of them. The burger arrived lukewarm according to my friend, but she enjoyed it. The classic steam pot did not come with the Old Bay seasoning it was supposed to have on it, but my friend was hungry and ate it anyway. After dinner, my friend ordered the "peach cobbler". When it arrived, we all had a taste and determined that it was apple, which is what's listed on the menu. She brought it up to the waitress, who seemed surprised that it wasn't peach and comped her a free "peach cobbler" to take home. All in all, it wasn't bad but for what you pay for, it isn't good. P.S. It was unnecessarily loud in there at times, and hard to carry a conversation once the waitstaff started dancing awkwardly to disco music.

The food here is decent, but the costumer service was terrible, because it takes too long to get your order taken. The restaurant also needs a face-lift; it looks like a haunted house.

Waitress was good. Drinks were messed up multiple times. Crab legs overdone and too rubbery to crack. Not a good night but only my first time here. Probably will not be back.
