Good Southern home cooked foods. Bug helpings and friendly staff that serve up the food.

Had the meatloaf and chicken enchiladas. Both delicious. Sides awesome too. Lots of food. Highly recommended.

Located in our hood. Its your typical down home country style food!! The real deal!! The place looks like a cafeteria, but the staff is excellent! Family owned and excellent grub!

This a hidden little gem. They work their fannies off and the food shows it. Some of the best meat a veggies around. WARNING: GOOD HOME COOKING ...... LOL

Basic bare bones cafeteria style place with above average food. Theres never any waiting and you can see everything which I like to make your choices. Newer pricing since my last visit. All main dishes are $4.00 sides $2.75, desserts $3.50. It is a la carte, you pay for each item separately. One the board they list Main +2 Main + 3, etc...but its just the total of each item separately added up. Not any special deal. 1/2 orders of sides for $1.50. Menu items change by the day of the week. Check the website. They serve Sunday brunch now too. Vegetable are very tasty. It sort of all feels like going to Grandmas. If you want good, easy, and no wait food, this is a good option. Usually enough parking out front for easy access. This is good for going solo, or casual visit with a friend. I wouldn't call it suitable for date night.

They always have great fresh food and large helpings for a great price. If you want somewhere to sit down and have a hearty meal with family or friends then stop in and dive in to some great food. They serve different main dishes through the week so it is good to go a few days to see the variety or just ask them. They have great fresh brewed sweet tea to go with the meal! The desserts are pretty awesome too. One of the things that I really like is you can see them prepping and making the food right in front of you. This is real cooked food not prep and shipped for mass heating and selling. The sizes or the sides and main dishes are large as well so be ready to take home some leftovers.

Being a Georgia girl, I love southern food. And this, is southern food. Good southern food. The kind your great-grandmother makes from scratch in her tiny kitchen. Thank goodness we live super close to our way cafe. They have been a lifesaver for us during a few hangry occasions. They never disappoint. And the staff is super nice and friendly. Things we've had and loved: -meatloaf -pot roast -baked chicken -mac and cheese -collards -green beans -creamed corn -sweet potato souffle -broccoli casserole -lemonade -sweet tea -peach cobbler -carrot cake This place has the best collards too. And that is something that's hard to find. Mix some mac and cheese in with the collards and add a ton of hot sauce...the best.

Do you wish grandma would cook a down-home southern meal for you? Our Way is there to help you out. Meat & veg lunch counter. No butter will be spared. The creamed corn is the richest you'll ever taste. I'm a fan of their pulled pork - especially if it's pulled pork bbq.

A wonderful meat and three place! I had the meatloaf with mac-and-cheese, mashed potatoes, and black eyed peas with a piece of spicy corn bread. The meatloaf was really good. Nice a juicy and seasoned really well. All of the sides were really good. The mac-and-cheese was the best. I like my mashed potatoes on the denser side but these were thinner than I really like. With that said they tasted fine. The spicy corn bread was wonderful. The spice added a nice touch of heat but left you knowing that the base corn bread was wonderful too. Overall I was really happy. This is cooking like momma so it can be hard to live up to and they do.

Been going here a couple times a month for 11 years! Eva is charming every time to me and my girls while overseeing her empire. Amazing country cooking!

This place doesn't look good but the food I had sure was good. I had the chicken (dark meat) and creamed spinach. YUM YUM! Can't say anymore about it, except that it delivered more than I expected.

I so want to give Our Way Cafe 5 stars. I've been trying to find a place like this in Atlanta for years. When Mary Mac's discontinued their take out buffet in the 80's, I was bummed. Our Way replaces Mary Mac's take out. In my opinion, the food is nearly perfect. The very sweet server told me that only one of the vegetable items contained a meat product. There are a ton of delicious vegetarian options, so I was in heaven. I had artichoke/spinach casserole, field peas and creamed spinach. Everything was delicious. Mom had garlic pepper chicken, butter peas, collard greens and cornbread. I tried her veggies. I didn't like the collard greens. I hate vinegar and sugar in my greens. It was the only thing I didn't like. This place could use a good scrubbing. The inspection rating is in the low 80''s :{ The bathroom was dirty and outdated. Still, the food is SOOOOO good. I will definitely return.

If you like friendly people, excellent customer service, and great food, eat at Our Way Cafe. I eat here once or twice a week and the food is consistently good while not being completely predictable. Definitely a go to place for lunch or dinner!

Fantastic southern food from fried chicken to meatloaf. You can't go wrong with any of the sides, however, I have a special affinity for the cornbread and the mac 'n cheese.

  • Lisa M.

I used to love their food but not so much anymore. The portions are too large and the prices are too high. I'd love to see them offer fresh locally grown food that's cooked to perfection but not to death. Sometimes less is more! I still go on for a few favorites like the chicken enchilada or meatloaf but that's about it.

Great homestyle "meat & 3" place. I'll eat here for lunch every time I'm down this way. Love it.

I like this place especially now that I live near it. It's my go-to for last minute dinners and I haven't had a bad dish from Our Way. The items that stand for me are the macaroni and cheese and the collard greens. Darn tasty.

  • April K.

This place was absolutely not the thrill of my life. it was edible so it had that going for it. The staff were also extremely friendly. The food was mediocre at best! I had the spinach and artichoke casserole, the tomatoes, Mac and cheese, and what they "claimed" were collars greens (those were turnips!) I could've just gone to Mary Macs and would be enjoyed 100 % more.

A great place to go to get a meat and 2 . The sides were amazing and had a variety of choices so you didn't feel guilty about eating there unless, of course, you want to feel that way when you leave. The baked chicken is always on point. Runs you about 10 bucks for a meat and 3 sides.

  • Stormtrooper H.

Great old school meat and 3. The people were super nice, the food was less expensive than most ($6.75 a plate) and the food was fine. I will note drive the 25 minutes each way from our house to go here, but would eat there again if I was in the area (and Home Grown was closed).

I really love basic southern staples and they've got it. Consistently great food, the menu goes by day of the week which I love. GREAT meatloaf my goodness! The warm chicken salad is wonderful. Classic southern sides: green beans, mashed potatoes, DELICIOUS mushroom gravy, good Mac n cheese. Good price, I appreciate the cafeteria style service and the fact that the menu isn't the same everyday. My moms got her preferred day: Monday for the chicken salad! If you don't appreciate stick to your ribs southern food this place isn't for you! No apologies from me! Love you Our Way Cafe! Truly consistent and true to the name.

Meh, the food was just okay. Nothing great here. The service was great. The gal that waited on us was very nice. I just wasn't that impressed, my sense was that the food was originally frozen/canned then cooked. The decor was certainly lacking. There were unhung pictures laying around on the ground and there was no soda fountain. I'd recommend going to Avondale Pizza instead.

I brought one of my best friends here for lunch on a Friday afternoon so she can give it a try, since she's a big fan of country/southern food. Our Way Cafe is more of a cafeteria style restaurant with various dishes served on a particular day. Prices from what I can remember are $3 for an entree and $2 something for sides and I believe $2.79 for premium sides. Desserts are around $2.50. I can't recollect how much drinks are, but sweet tea and water are self -refill. My last time here was actually quite a few years back, so some new things I noticed was that they now have a fridge with various soft drinks. I do remember that sunday afternoon's are packed with long lines. But it's worth it to take home and eat. Come hungry, because the portions are also HUGE! Food: My friend and I both wanted to try the Chicken enchilada, as the meat loaf, salmon loaf, and oven chicken wasn't appealing to my inner foodie that day. Also, we're big fans of tex mex. This must be a new menu item, as I don't recall them ever serving this before. We also got the green bean casserole as a premium side, while I picked up another side of mashed potatoes. Our bread of choice were cornbread. We also split a apple cobbler. * Chicken enchilada, was pretty good, though the middle of the enchilada was kind of dry. The sauce could also be a little thicker. Portion size, this has a lot of shredded chicken stuffed inside. We barely finished ours. I would just ask for more sauce, you'll need it once you get done halfway. * Green bean casserole; it's always worth the trip and getting this as a side. It's just that good. A nice balance of sauce, bread crumbs, and moist green beans. Seems, they added chest nuts into the casserole. It plays well with the dish, and adds some contrast on the texture with some "crispiness". Definitely worth a try. * Smashed potatoes; first bite and you know for sure this is more of a homemade recipe. All though, the dish could use more seasoning I believe that it's probably left to the customer to season with salt and pepper. Thick with partial potato skins. It's decent but not as good as the green bean casserole. I would go with another veggie side unless there's nothing else that pleases the eye. * Cornbread; a pretty big size cut, cooked just right where it's still moist. Hint of sweetness. I haven't ever tried the rolls, cause I always pick this instead. Just remember that the butter is near the sweet tea and water station. * Apple Cobbler. All I can say is, "yes please, can I have some more?" The apples are perfectly seasoned and cooked where it's tender but still crisp. Slight sweetness without being rich. The crust has a very good texture of almost, slightly under baked so that it's moist. Semi sweet so that it adds some contrast in taste to the apples. Yet blends in very well on each bite. A must try. Overall: If you're looking for some good old fashioned, southern favorites with a home made appeal, look no further if you're in the area. Just remember to bring cash. Bank of America also has an atm in the parking lot.

I recently moved to the area and gave this place a whirl. It was surprisingly delicious and their portions are perfect! The collards are amazing and their homemade mashed potatoes were creamy and very well seasoned. Everyone was very nice and I will definitely be back!

Delicious comfort food! Yummy and affordable!!! I always eat here when I visit Atlanta. The cream corn and mac n cheese is spectacular. Employees are super nice. Don't forget to tip the line crew bc they work hard to make all of this delicious food from scratch.

Our way cafe has always been a place where you could get simple southern home-cookin' without any pretension, whether it be atmosphere or attitude. That's why I was so glad when I heard via Decatur Metro blog that they reopened, and so we came here last night to check out how things were coming along. The look of the place has really changed- it's a lot cleaner (less picture frames hanging around), brighter, but slightly on the sterile side- I literally smelled bleach as I walked in. Clean is good.....but.... It's only their third week in operation (at least that's what I heard as we were in line), so the menu is on the shallow side. Items are "a la carte", with the meat entrees costing ~ $3, premium sides costing ~ $2.79, regular sides $2.29....and I forgot how much dessert costs. Oh, and either a biscuit or a piece of cornbread costs 50 cents. My initial look at the available meat entrees didn't give me the best impression- the food doesn't necessarily look pretty, but just get over it and order something- you won't regret it. Here's what we got. My plate: entree: Meatloaf (ground beef, bread, bell peppers, ketchup, tomoatoes)- Like I mentioned, this meatloaf ain't pretty- BUT it sure tasted great, especially with a bit of tomato sauce (they called it 'chutney') on top! (3.75) sides: Collard greens (2.29)- Collards had a bit of kick to them, and weren't overcooked to the point of mush. Solid offering. (4) Mac 'n Cheese (2.79)- Just right. Not too much grease from the cheese, and the noodles were soft. Nothing sophisticated. Just good. (4) Biscuit: Think of a blend between the lightness of biscuits from the Flying Biscuit and the flakiness of ones at Bojangles. :) - not overbuttered-pretty good. (4). her plate: entree: Salmon Loaf- Okay, it sounds kinda' funny, and it looks a bit funny too. But like I said, get over the appearances, and get it in your gut, because it's GOOD! Creamy with a slight kick. (4) sides: Mashed Potatoes with gravy (2.29)- Oh. No. You can't be serious. One of those "close your eyes" food-gasm moments. Get this. (5) Make sure you get some of the gravy. That one is reason enough to go back. Cabbage (2.29)- pass on this one. Get double portions of the mashed potatoes instead. (3) cornbread: Perfect. Holds together well enough, but crumbles when you bite into it- not dry nor wet. Just right. (4) You can easily fill yourself well with 10 bucks. Cheers to Our Way! I hope these guys stick around for a LONG time.

This place will never, ever let you down. The food is delicious, high quality, reasonably priced, generous portions and the people who own and work at this restaurant are as nice as it gets. It's worth a drive across town. Really. When I lived in grant park, I would drive 20 minutes to get there. Now I live close by. Which rocks.

I enjoyed the food here. My recommendations: creamed corn and jalepeno cornbread. Everything tasted really fresh. Staff was very friendly and helpful in making my selections. I didnt really care for the decor there. The police officer statue kinda threw me off too.

  • Kate C.

I definitely take this place for granted. Not only can I drive around the corner for homemade comfort food after a long day, but they now conveniently advertise their daily menu online. I still find myself going back for the meatloaf!

Love Our Way! The atmosphere inside is stark and school cafeteria-ish--almost jarringly so. However, the caliber of the Southern goodness they're serving up more than makes up for the lack of ambiance. And the staff is sweet and helpful. This is the gold standard of comfort food, and they don't try to put a creative spin on it, which can sometimes just end up an overly complicated disappointment. Nope, Our Way serves their grub straight up and delicious: think mac n' cheese, collards, mashed potatoes, creamed corn, bbq chicken, meatloaf...you know the drill. Just walk through the door and your eyes will take care of the rest. I will say you MUST try their peach cobbler. Hands down the best peach cobbler in the city. I'm not a "dessert person," but I just ate my fourth helping of the cobbler we took home from there yesterday. It's stellar as takeout--the portions are huge, and the prices are reasonable. My husband and I usually order two meats and four sides and divvy it all up . And occasionally indulge in that life-changing cobbler. (NOT the cherry cobbler thing, though--I find it kind of weird--it HAS to be the peach.)

Fantastic comfort food! The staff is super fun and helpful and the food is amazing. I adore the warm chicken salad. Feels like home to eat there and it carries out to home well too!

I have an addiction to the creamed spinach, but honestly I've never had anything bad here. It's really inexpensive with HUGE portions and is amazing comfort food. Chili Cheese Dog Casserole...it's amazing, TRY IT!

  • Brandon R.

Maybe I caught this on a bad day based on a lot of the other reviews, but this was terrible. Overcooked chicken, canned greens, and grease filled cornbread. Not to mention everything looked like it had been sitting for quite a while. Will not be back

  • Sid P.

This is one of my favorite places to eat around Decatur/Avondale. the best meatloaf in Atlanta, probably. Everything else on the menu is decent to pretty good, but the meatloaf is awesome. Just heard that this place was hit by fire over the weekend, which is a real shame. There's a repair fund being set up at First Decatur Bank, if you're into that sort of thing.

  • An J.

The food is pretty cheap but decent quality. This is our regular place when we're running errands in the area. The staff is pretty friendly. There is a lady who calls everyone "sweety." I'm not a fan of being addressed "sweety," but then again we're in the South and in a southern restaurant. It's pretty casual, and resembles a school cafeteria. Pretty good deal!

    (4)

Amazing!!!! My husband and I love this place! Comfort food at its finest (and not very expensive) and the sweetest staff ever!

    (5)
  • Frances W.

This was my first time going since it had reopened, and I'm here to say that it hasn't really changed that much. You got your food line, and your yummy veggies and stuff, and a dinning room that while is very different than before (it doesn't have all the old stuff up like it used to) still isn't really better. Honestly I think they should consider hiring a decorator, because it's pretty darn boring inside. So the ambiance isn't a shining quality, but most of the food is pretty tasty, and the prices are great. I always get a veggie plate, and this time I had green beans, mashed potatoes, mac n cheese, and a biscuit. The mac n cheese was great, and not too cheesy, the green beans were what you would except, and the mashed potatoes had the skin on them, which I like. I wish they would have had their squash casserole, because it's great, but I guess I will have to wait till next time. I like Our Way, and I'm very happy it survived, but your experience really comes down to what you order, so choose wisely and pray that they got the squash casserole.

Love our way Cafe. The cornbread is the best cornbread around.

  • Deb B.

This is like Sunday supper. As said before this is a meat and three sides. Huge portions and their meatloaf is fantastic! The atmosphere is quaint. You never know who you'll be dine around. The only thing that's making me give 4 and not 5 stars is some dishes are a little heavy on the salt. Other than that, I feel like I'm at home with my family Sunday afternoon. A note to peeps looking for good home cooked food... when the fire department and police eat there daily, that's got to tell you something. If you dislike Southern cuisine, please do not go and plan to write a review :)

I used to live in Atlanta and work in downtown Decatur when Our Way was across the street from Agnes Scott College. I was a regular back then...and still was a regular when they moved to the new location. I don't get back to ATL very often, but when I do I make sure I stop by Our Way Cafe. I was in ATL last month for a 24 hr stay and stopped by Our Way Cafe for lunch. The food is as good as always; however, the prices seem to have gone up significantly. I'd still go back when I visit ATL, but if I was living there I would not be able to be a regular customer due to the higher prices.

As good as food in a cafeteria could ever get. This place is super cheap and everything is delicious!! The decor is pretty boring, but this is all about the food. Peach cobbler is viciously good.

Our Way is good for a quick lunch or dinner. I dont think it's as good as it used to be....doesn't seem as fresh and prices keep going up but still decent food.

After what I have read I feel like dirtbag giving this anything less than 4 stars. I really do. Don't get me wrong, I liked the food for the most part. The meatloaf was ok -wouldnt quite say BEST Ive ever had. The macncheese was actually quite good as was the biscuit. I should have tried the sweet potato souffle like other reviewers mentioned, but instead I got collard greens. They were obviously canned and approached the lower limits of edibility. Sorry but man cant subsist on meat and carbs alone. I was very pleased with the price.7 bucks even for the whole meal. This place reminds me of Eats on Ponce which I was never crazy about. The thing about this type of cuisine (ie homestyle, southern) is that you often finish eating it KNOWING that you have had the same dish prepared by some motherly figure in your family or a friends family in the past. And you know that it tasted a lot better when that mom or mom substitute made it and you didnt have to pay as much for it. If you're going to serve this kind of food it needs to have a lil bit of an edge, or else just be darn good. The food here was, like I said, ok overall but I would try some more interesting places for lunch.

  • Brent N.

We have been going here for a long time. We are very glad to see them reopen! Food is pretty much the same, many faces have changed tho. VERY GLAD Al is still around! Lots to like here. Stand outs are the corn, mac and cheese, squash cassarole, but everything is pretty good.

Great to see this place open again. I think most of the meat n' threes around town are overrated. Not Our Way though. Here you will find good flavor and a selection of foods you don't see other places. When I stopped in, among the usual fried chicken, meatloaf, and roast, there were also cheese enchiladas and curry pulled chicken. The mashed potatoes are amazing, as were the green beans,

  • L S.

I LOVE this place. I go there for lunch all the time. Its a great meat and 3 place with awesome fresh veggies. The pot roast with mashed potatoes is my favorite. And their sweet tea is perfect. All Yankees should have to come here to experience good southern food. Bring cash cause they don't take plastic.

Ok, one thing about the stars system: 3 stars sometimes looks like an insult, and that's definitely not the intent, so I'm putting down '4' just so it fits in that it's good. I know plenty of people who love this, and I don't attribute this to stupidity or bad taste, but really, I believe personal association matters a lot with how we experience restaurants. The food here is solidly good. I've never had a bad one. It fits the bill for exactly the sort of place it is: a meat-and-two, southern cafeteria style, whatever you want to call it. Chicken's always juicy, there's always a good variety of sides, you can almost wing it as a vegetarian. The people here are really friendly, and while it is pretty standard - that's part of the reason to go. Sometimes you just want a good piece of meatloaf, salmon loaf or some other kind of loaf. Cornbread, greens, black eyed peas, y'know...that sort of thing. If you're in the Decatur area for lunch and feel like a straightforward Southern-style meal, why not?

  • Sonya C.

This is a basic meat and three with a not so special atmosphere. Entering the restaurant you get a weird vibe, the food counter is all the way at the back of a long empty room and the staff watches your approach. Generally there are about 4-5 entrees and 15 veggies to pick from. I usually get a veggie plate. The corn is real special, I've never had anything quite like it. Once you have tasted it, it will be impossible to pass it up. I have tried different peas and beans, sweet potatoes, a few of the greens and mac 'n cheese, plus several others. All have been good and very rich. Never tried any of the meats, but my friends all enjoy them, no complaints anyway. The soft yeast rolls and corn bread are tasty and there is plenty of iced tea and lemonade. The restaurant closes at 8pm and if you are there just before closing, the manager usually brings a to go dessert to your table. Good fruit cobbler.

Oh, man! Comfort food! It's just so good, and so cheap... and the guys that work there are adorable. Salmon loaf - really, it's good and not scary at all. Awww - and the hot chicken salad! Our Way Cafe is addictive.

WOW, I've eaten as some of the best restaurants in the country but nothing compares to good old southern cooking done right. At first glance the food doesn't look all to good but once you taste it you will be in heaven. The Sweet Potato Souffle is to die for and well the meatloaf....pretty much the best I've had. The hospitality here is top class. They even brought over a couple cobblers since it was our first time. I will most defiantly be back on a regular basis!

Good food but not perfect. It is southern food but I'm just not a huge fan of this place. It isn't always the cleanest place and the people aren't very friendly.

  • Jarrod C.

This place is heaven on earth. I always leave with a clean plate, a full stomach, and a smile. When I first started going there I was obsessed with the meatloaf (still am). It is amazing, but I have since branched out and have had many of their dishes including their pork roast, bbq, chicken, and a few casseroles. All have been stellar. This place is just southern cooking at its absolute finest. I haven't even touched on the huge variety of sides/veggies they have. I always get their mac & cheese and then get different things to go with it. You seriously can't go wrong. If you like a little spice in your bread make sure to get the jalepeno cornbread as a nice compliment to your meal. And one more thing that should go without saying...make sure to have a sweet, iced tea with your meal. The only negative is that they aren't open on the weekend...I've had to hold my cravings until monday quite a few times. This place is by far the best when it comes to "meat and 2 veg." Just go and thank me later.

OMG, they burned down?!? I'm so unbelievably upset by this. The owner is SUCH a sweetheart and I was really looking forward to going back there next time I was in town. It's one of my favorite eats back home. He was kind enough to invite me in when they were going through renovations back in Dec. of 2008. I thought they were closed, but went up to try and open the door anyway. As I was walking away he opened the door and asked if he could help me. I explained that I'd flown all the way from Portland and one of the things I was really looking forward to was their food. He invited me in, explained that he'd sent all his employees home and was setting things up himself. They'd be closed for about two weeks but would open back up. He kept talking to me while he went to the back and sent me home with two takeout boxes filled with food, instructions on how to cook everything, and some coconut creme pie (the best I've ever had, btw). THAT'S what southern hospitality and being nice is all about. Not this pseudo friendly b.s. you encounter in the PNW sometimes. I hope they reopen :( I'm so bummed out.

I'm a big boy and a meat and 2 sides more than filled me up. This was my first visit and the staff was more than nice and very helpful. The food was excellent! Everything a southern meal should be!

Our Way Cafe never fails. Every time I go there the food is delicious and the staff is friendly. The sweet potato and squash casseroles are a must. Comfort food in a casual place for a small amount of money. This is true southern food. I don't know who cooks here, but it's not a fancy chef. It really seems like something straight out of somebody's kitchen. Take an out of towner here for lunch (they're not open on weekends though) and show off southern comfort food. There are usually quite a few children here, so it's good for families. I think they close at 8pm, so get there early.

One of the best meat-and-three places in metro Atlanta.

Great meat and three place in this part of metro area. If you don't want to trek all the way into the heart of Atlanta, your cravings will be very well satisfied here.

We were visiting relatives in Avondale Estates who took us to a "Southern" dinner at this low key, unassuming, somewhat dumpy strip mall. We stuffed six people for about $50 (tip included)-- not only is the food terrific, it's a real bargain, too. We are true foodies and appreciate all different kinds of food, high or low, from French Laundry to neighborhood ethnic joints -- our main criteria is that it has to excel at what it's trying to be. Inside, the tables are basic formica, linoleum floors, the walls thoughtfully decorated with various "junk" -- photos of JFK and Jackie, old lunch boxes, tools and a life-sized model of a motorcycle cop in the corner with his gun drawn to protect the place among other treasures. This place is full of thoughtful touches everywhere you look. On to the food. It varies by the night and the best bet is to just go up to the steam table and point. I'll warn you, the portions are huge. We had meatloaf (everyone liked this alot, I'm vegetarian so I had extra veges), enchiladas (!), chopped spinach, butter beans, sweet potato souffl (EXCELLENT!!), creamed corn (best I've ever had), mac and cheese, green beans (overcooked, but they would say we serve them "undercooked"), corn bread (the spicy version IS spicy), mashed potatoes and several other sides. This isn't low cal, it's authentic Southern after all. Everyone was full, but I pressed on and went back to get one each of the desserts for everyone to share; cherry and apple cobbler, pumpkin pie made from a Paula Deen recipe (delicious) and coconut pie. After we brought this feast back to our table, they stopped by with desert #5 -- a fabulous caramel cake that was amazing. Even though we were already full and only intended to eat only a bite of each, every plate was licked clean. A worthwhile stop - go for the food and be sure to schedule a 5 mile hike for afterwards to work off every scrumptious morsel.

I'm disappointed Our Way burned down... They had great veggies.

I adore Our Way Cafe and feel so lucky that they are just right down the road. They make my all time favorite macaroni and cheese as well as green bean casserole. I always get a veggie plate, and they have tons of options to choose from. Dessert has never been less than fantastic. The staff is always friendly. I could go on and on. Just do yourself a favor and make the trip out for great comfort food and a great price.

If I could make mac and cheese this good at home, I'd never eat out. Well, that's not true. I'd eat mac and cheese at home a lot, and go out for sushi. Our Way Cafe is a little sparse inside, it's a lot of old formica tables and crappy chairs in two dining areas with fluorescent lights. But like any good Southern joint, the food is what you're there for anyway. The green been casserole, collard greens, and the meatloaf are great. The prices are very cheap, and they're constantly bringing out new dishes so it's worth pacing yourself while eating since something new and tasty might be coming out from the kitchen any minute.

Great food and service. The menu rotates, so sometimes they don't have the entree or side you want, but there's so much good stuff that you won't be let down. The best part? When they have limes for your iced tea.

This place is great! The decor is definitely not the focus - the food is the main event. The portions are so big you can get the half sizes of both entrees and sides and not feel cheated or hungry after your meal. Everything I have tried has been good. I will second the meatloaf, because it is great. So far, my favorite dessert is the cherry crumb... whatever the rest of the name is. Getting just sides/vegetables also makes for a very satisfying meal. I do think they are cash only, so visit the ATM in the parking lot if you need it.

Alright then. I first ate at this joint when it was at the corner of Candler and College. I'd hate to think what reviews it would have gotten there. It was basically four community tables and left-handed eaters were very unhandy to fit in. It was packed all the time because the food was Southern-with-an-attitude. Then they moved into the big digs they're in now, and I was so relieved. I have hauled people here from Alpharetta, Newnan, and Marietta just to watch their faces when (A) we got out of the car in this rundown 50's strip mall with a machine shop next door and Goodwill store next to it, and (B) we walk in and they see that the seating consists of castoff patio tables and old dinette tables and chairs. Next, they have to walk through a cafeteria line and make quick pointing-type choices. Ooops! You didn't pick up your fork, knive, and spoon and roll it into a paper towel at the start of the line, when you got your cafeteria tray. Errnnnnt! Slog back to the beginning! I really don't have much food imagination when it comes to OWC. I'll get the tender roasted pork in tasty brown gravy (or chicken pan pie if available), butter peas, mac 'n cheese, and steamed spinach (with little egg pieces in it), a piece of their wonderful jalapeno cornbread, and iced tea, please. Have your cash ready at the end of the line, then juggle everything whilst you grab a spot to settle in and gnarf it all in. Oh, if you want Tabasco, you gotta get up and fetch it yourself. Then, sit back, pick your teeth, and enjoy the cross-section of humanity that is flowing through. BTW, if they happen to be serving their eggplant casserole or eggplant parmesan, get it. You will cry for happy.

This place doesn't look good but the food I had sure was good. I had the chicken (dark meat) and creamed spinach. YUM YUM! Can't say anymore about it, except that it delivered more than I expected.

  • Jacquelyn M.

I enjoyed the food here. My recommendations: creamed corn and jalepeno cornbread. Everything tasted really fresh. Staff was very friendly and helpful in making my selections. I didnt really care for the decor there. The police officer statue kinda threw me off too.

I definitely take this place for granted. Not only can I drive around the corner for homemade comfort food after a long day, but they now conveniently advertise their daily menu online. I still find myself going back for the meatloaf!

A great place to go to get a meat and 2 . The sides were amazing and had a variety of choices so you didn't feel guilty about eating there unless, of course, you want to feel that way when you leave. The baked chicken is always on point. Runs you about 10 bucks for a meat and 3 sides.

Great old school meat and 3. The people were super nice, the food was less expensive than most ($6.75 a plate) and the food was fine. I will note drive the 25 minutes each way from our house to go here, but would eat there again if I was in the area (and Home Grown was closed).

I like this place especially now that I live near it. It's my go-to for last minute dinners and I haven't had a bad dish from Our Way. The items that stand for me are the macaroni and cheese and the collard greens. Darn tasty.

Maybe I caught this on a bad day based on a lot of the other reviews, but this was terrible. Overcooked chicken, canned greens, and grease filled cornbread. Not to mention everything looked like it had been sitting for quite a while. Will not be back

Great food and service. The menu rotates, so sometimes they don't have the entree or side you want, but there's so much good stuff that you won't be let down. The best part? When they have limes for your iced tea.

  • Kristen H.

Delicious comfort food! Yummy and affordable!!! I always eat here when I visit Atlanta. The cream corn and mac n cheese is spectacular. Employees are super nice. Don't forget to tip the line crew bc they work hard to make all of this delicious food from scratch.

I used to love their food but not so much anymore. The portions are too large and the prices are too high. I'd love to see them offer fresh locally grown food that's cooked to perfection but not to death. Sometimes less is more! I still go on for a few favorites like the chicken enchilada or meatloaf but that's about it.

I like this place especially now that I live near it. It's my go-to for last minute dinners and I haven't had a bad dish from Our Way. The items that stand for me are the macaroni and cheese and the collard greens. Darn tasty.

Maybe I caught this on a bad day based on a lot of the other reviews, but this was terrible. Overcooked chicken, canned greens, and grease filled cornbread. Not to mention everything looked like it had been sitting for quite a while. Will not be back

Amazing!!!! My husband and I love this place! Comfort food at its finest (and not very expensive) and the sweetest staff ever!

Our Way is a great place for southern food. The prices are reasonable and the employees are nice.

Great meat and three place in this part of metro area. If you don't want to trek all the way into the heart of Atlanta, your cravings will be very well satisfied here.
