My wife I just moved to Atlanta and decided to go to Decatur for the day. We looked up a place to eat and stumbled upon Duck's Cosmic Kitchen. It is a very quaint restaurant set off the main road. Be careful you might miss it as it is behind the main buildings off the street. This restaurant delivers exactly what you would expect. Friendly staff, art on the wall and lots of sandwiches/salads to choose from. They are a bakery and make most of their bread fresh. They practice sustainable cooking as they use local ingredients. My wife ordered the tomato and mozzarella sandwich on olive loaf, w/ a side of potato salad. Vegetables were fresh and the cheese was perfect. I ordered the Bistro Pork. The pork was perfectly cooked and seasoned just enough to not overcome the excellent pure taste of the pork. The sandwich had banana peppers which added a perfect amount of flavor to the sandwich. Don't expect a luxurious, gourmet meal. Expect a great sandwich, nice people and good sweet tea. You will not be disappointed.

Best place for a quaint lunch! The owners and staff were really friendly. We started with a cheese scone that was fresh out of the oven, and I'm not exaggerating when I say it was the best scone I've ever had. We then shared a scoop of chicken salad, which they are known for and it was delish. Then shared a panzanella pizza on freshly rolled gluten-free dough, it was so fresh tasting with an excellent vinaigrette drizzled on top. Then shared a James Calvin sandwich with a side of dill potato salad. Yum. The ginger peach iced yea was super refreshing. We finished the meal with a mini sugar donut, a mini cinnamon donut, and a piece of turtle brownie that was drizzled with caramel with pieces of dark chocolate, white chocolate, and walnuts. Heavenly. We were total fatties and it was worth it. Can't wait to come back.

Delicious. Delicious. Wish they never closed. Great brunch, fabulous twist on coconut cream pie!

The world's tiniest restaurant. The kitchen isn't even in the same building, and that makes me wonder what the staff has to go through on rainy days. :/ Everything else is great, though, so I'm just not going to think about it. I was having a massive craving for a grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup... when I got in, and the waitress told me that the soup of the day was a tomato bisque, I knew immediately that I would be getting the grilled cheese. With bacon. Duh. And soup. What I was greeted with about 15 minutes later (how long does it take to make grilled cheese and fry up some bacon on a slow day at 3pm?), was the world's smallest grilled cheese sandwich. I was very underwhelmed at the sight of it, and couldn't believe I was paying 7.50 for that. Once I got past my initial shock, and took my first bite, I about rolled on the floor with happiness. It was SO GOOD. Crisp and buttery and cheesy and golden and delicious. When dipped in the yummy tomato bisque, I was basically the happiest camper in the world and forgot how much would be coming out of my sparkly panda wallet. They serve Reed's ginger beer here, which makes me super happy! Nothing I like better than Jamaican-style ginger beer in a glass bottle... nice and spicy. I happened to notice a dessert case while I was finishing my lunch. Everyone raves about the doughnut, but I can't do super heavy sweets these days, so I opted for the key lime pie. MOTHER. It was so incredibly scrumptious. The perfect end to a really great, simple, light lunch. Yes, it's a little pricey. Yes, it's a little hard to find (it's behind some other businesses, and you have to make sure to go to the restaurant side and not the kitchen side). My waitress started off a little nonchalant, but she seemed to warm up a little after a bit. But damned if that wasn't the best grilled cheese sandwich I've had since Noon closed. (I still miss you, Noon...) For the sheer and utter deliciousness, I say eff the downsides and just give it a shot.

Quick service, friendly staff, and *omygodsodelicous* food! The food is always fresh, local, and mouth-watering good. Every sandwich on their menu is just blow-your-mind amazing. Today, I had the Odan (bacon, avacado, tomato, lettuce, sauce on a warm croissant) with a side of potato salad. Just absolutely incredible. If you're looking for a great sandwich place, go here. You won't regret it!

Formerly Duck's Cosmic Kitchen - the name changed in 2013, according to Eater Atlanta. I haven't been here in a long while, which is strange because I thought the place was pretty fabulous when it opened in 2005. But I do enjoy their donuts regularly at Dancing Goats. Today I decided to break my long Duck drought and headed over for lunch. A great day to eat outside in their courtyard. At first, I had to figure out where the door was. Years ago, you ordered from the trailer-like building where the bakery/kitchen is and took your food either to an outside seat or inside a dining room located in the building to the back right. They now have a proper restaurant space and that dining room is some other business. The James Calvin sandwich is as delicious as I remembered. Fall apart pot roast with great walnut bread. The potato salad is pretty good, too. And the lemonade is perfect for a fairly warm June day. Service is as friendly and unpretentious as always. Duck's reminds me of the places you find in Grass Valley, California, if you've ever been there. Nice people with more than a little '60's counter-culture influence.

Duck's Cosmic Kitchen is nothing short of amazing. Seriously. Make a Friday night reservation and you will not be sorry. On Friday night the interior is turned into a romantic setting with candlelight ambiance and live music reminiscent of a charming Italian cafe in the film ______(insert romance movie here). I ordered the special, which was a white wine braised chicken with carrots and potatoes. It was delicious. My husband ordered a pork dish, which he loved. We were thoroughly impressed with the attention to detail and the service. We will most certainly return.

Duck's is SO DELICIOUS it puts my diet in jeopardy! MENU FAVORITES: Brunch Pizza Tomato, mozzarella, and Goat Cheese Sandwich (Carlson) make-your-own omelette BEST vinaigrette salad dressing INSANE veggie "sausage" The Hamett is a healthy brunch option They brew Bratdorf and Bronson better than some coffee shops! FRESH, DELICIOUS FOOD and the service is 5/5; some of the waitresses have better communication skills than high-paid project managers in the corporate world. You can bring your dog and sit outside and they will give you a bowl of water for your pup! I'm getting hungry just writing this review...time for some lunch :)

Great place to have a brunch small but nice. I had the chicken and biscuits with a bloody orange juice it was amazing. Everything about this place is cute and cozy. Professional staff and great desserts.

This place is so cute! Stumbled upon it for a work lunch, asked the nice folks outside how it was and they had nothing but awesome things to say, so we went for it. Place is super small maybe 8 tables at most, was a bit crowded but that's a good thing. If that many others are enjoying its bound to be good. We sat at the bar. They have daily specials, unfortunately they were all sold out of the Dover sole that day. So I went for the house cured salmon sandwich with golden split pea soup as my side. Soup was awesome. Definitely had some pork flavor. But heartier than normal pea soup. The salmon: the bread was amazing!! And the salmon literally tasted like sushi. The capers added that saltine

Fantastic lunch spot- cute little courtyard for quiet outdoor seating, charming inside seating as well. We ordered the chicken salad (dates and golden raisins gave it a slightly sweet flavor profile) and the avocado/bacon/tomato/pesto sandwich on a toasted crossaint. It was as amazing as it sounds. Got 2 coconut/oatmeal/choc chip cookies to go. Overall a great little find!

If you are gluten-free the options here are amazing. I have ordered several of the sandwiches and pizzas gluten-free, and have thoroughly enjoyed all of them. It is such a treat to be able to eat those things when you go out and know that you will feel well afterward. Also, the staff has always been incredibly friendly and welcoming.

A very hidden and serene place for a nice quiet breakfast with your loved ones. The outdoor area welcomes dogs. Next time will try to bring big Simba along. We sat and ordered our coffee with our friendly and fun-loving server. She made our breakfast more enjoyable. I had the Table Sandwich while my husband had the Munch Brunch. Both were good. As usual, only lately, half of my order had to go home with me in a box. We shall definitely come back again. This place was very comfortable and inviting. Good place to relax.

I wouldn't support this place if I was starving to death. The owners need to learn how to not treat people like shit. My friend got hired to replace two workers who were leaving. Then they decided to stay and my friend got kicked to the curb. I would never support a place who treats people so poorly. Low class.

This is one of those tough reviews to write, y'all. Do I gush about Duck's and tell the truth about how I feel, risking that a line will snake out the door on Saturday morn, uh, noons? Or do I undersell them so that I can keep them to myself but risk making Duck sad? Man I can't do that, what if it makes my food sad too? Not worth it. Duck's is downstairs from my work, or else I would have never known about them. One morning I was all, "Hmm the coffee at my job sucks balls, I wonder if there is a place that has actual good-tasting coffee instead", and lo and behold, Duck's was downstairs serving up some Batdorf & Bronson brew! They make the BEST MOCHA EVER because they actually melt dark chocolate into the damn thing. The bad news is that means it can't be made iced, but the good news is that their iced vanilla lattes are super delicious too! All their delectable breads are baked on site, and not a one of them is undelicious. The kalamata loaf is probably my fave, but walnut leek is good, and the home-made bagels are to die for. Seriously, I'm probably dead right now because this morning I ate a bacon, egg, and herbed goat cheese (also mixed up in-house) bagel sandwich. It was too good, you guys. Too. Damn. Good. Saturday Specials are why I want to live to see another day, though. One weekend it was a croissant with tomato, basil, proscuitto, and egg, and it was ZOMGSOGOOD. When they do anything with gravy, you need to show up. It's so peppery and delicious, I just pour it all over my potatoes and try not to propose to the closest employee. Wait also they bake desserts too! I had a slice of pumpkin cheesecake last week that was the best I've ever had! And the cinnamon donuts are cute and tasty and since they're baked (not fried!) they're basically health food. True story. My only complaint is that Duck's is kinda pricey for a breakfast joint. I ain't even mad at them though, because quality costs money and I'm not about to make my own bagel sandwich before work. Also I think everything costs too much, as evidenced by every review I write, so I have to maintain some consistency.

Ever since my first visit I've been hooked! Every time I'm in downtown decatur I have to stop by. The staff is super sweet & the food is phenomenal! They are very health conscious and the food still tastes delicious. If you don't get anything else off the menu, you have to treat yourself to a baked donut. It will change your life! I said so!!!

One of my favorite places. The sweet atmosphere, delicious food, friendly staff, ample parking...you get the idea. Best yogurt, fruit and granola bowl - ever! Also love their Duck's salad and top it with a house-made veggie burger.

I really like their specials. They are unique and the food fits really well together. Everything on theirs menu taste fresh and besides the food being good, the service is always great. Its such a relaxed and friendly atmosphere that you actually take the time to sit down and eat.

I really enjoyed this place. It was nice to sit outside and enjoy the day. I had the cured salmon sandwich and it was delicious! They told me that they cure their own salmon. It's the nice little touches to the food here that makes it special. Yum. I look forward to returning.

Ate here the other day. Courtyard is very pleasant on a nice day and the food was really quite good. Wild Shrimp Cakes were excellent. In fact, we should have probably just ordered a few appetizers after seeing how fresh and delicious the shrimp cakes were, but the sandwiches were solid. Potato salad is also just as described by other reviewers-yum!

Consistently delicious and fresh! Our office is nearby and every day at least one office mate is getting lunch there. My favorite is the pork and the butternut squash soup (a special). The office mates go nuts over the tomato soup and grilled cheese combo. Husband loves the James Calvin, kid loves the pizza. The owners are ex band mates and you get that family feel of warm sarcastic cracks and general silliness. Love the staff- Art and Leah- you are my favorites.

One of my favorite gourmet restaurants. The special attention they put to flavors is refreshing and original. I have a weakness for delicious sweets and I blame this joint for the extra pounds I've put on. ;0)

Meh. My roasted chicken sandwich was not a hot sandwich..it was a cold cut sandwich topped with red peppers from a jar. The bread was not a big crusty roll or hoagie, but your regular sliced bread size, only it had pieces of walnuts in it. It was bland and cost me 9 bucks. The side of potato salad was really great however. Also, I had a lavender infused lemonade. There were pieces of dried lavender floating in the cup and I kept sucking them though my straw and coughing every time some got in my throat... perhaps they could have sifted this out? It was very good though. Bottom line: I could whip myself up a better lunch at home, for less money. The service was great though, the staff were extremely friendly.

Well, the best I can say about it is: ambitious but falls short. Over priced and under portioned. Hobby meets entrepreneur. Cake doughnuts are gross. Bread is nothing special. Pastry Chef--Really? Not. Friendly faces. Umm, really not worth the hassle to find it.

5 quacks, all the way. I had no idea this place existed until my realtor took me down there for a quick lunch. Everything on the menu is organic, natural fresh and delicious. I went a little overboard and got the homemade veggie burger with a side salad and a bowl of the cream of asparagus soup. Holy cow. Best veggie burger I've had in ATL to be sure. I ordered with a red pepper sauce and a mayo type spread, both were fab. I should have ordered a pint of the soup. Split a dessert, too, it was an apple bread pudding something or other that was out of this world. Looks like I'm going to have to start getting to my house-hunting appointments early from now on!

This place, tiny though it is, manages to do several very different things well. Bakery, weekday lunch, weekend brunch, special-occasion fancy dinner, and catering, all out of a space that many people would dismiss as too small for a decent coffee shop. Come for lunch and score one of the best sandwiches around. It's a fine bakery; their donuts and scones can be found in some of the best coffee shops in town, like Dancing Goats. The weekend brunch is also very good - - I recently took my foodie son, a young punk of a globetrotting restaurant snob, and after a minute of shameless scarfing he declared "this is pushing so many pleasure buttons right now!" Ms. L. and I have enjoyed several of their special-event dinners (get on their email list to find out about them in time to get a reservation). "Enjoyed" isn't even the word; we walked out of the Valentine's dinner overflowing with all the good flavors, good conversation, and love. We even had a sing-along after dessert, which could have gone horribly wrong, but it sure worked for us. If you watch the staff interacting with each other and regular customers you see the key. These are professionals who care about what they do, and about each other. One of my pet peeves is the overly obsequious, overly attentive service many places provide. It comes across as clingy, needy, insecure and really insincere. Not a hint of that here. Duck's servers and ownership come across as accomplished pros who know they're providing quality, recognize real appreciation and enjoy it, but keep working hard. I would have no hesitation going here with anyone: coworkers, in-laws, or prospective employer/employee.

Well, we are not from this area and were in town visiting family. We came in and had a delightful experience. Breakfast was delicious. The little mini cinnamon sugar cake donut was just enough to taste and not feel overindulgent. Coffee cups remained full and service was good enough. She was helpful and informed us if we waited til 9am we could get the bigger breakfast menu choices. She did disappear as the place got busy and she seemed a bit in the weeds...but whatever. It's breakfast. We were fine. I had a savory scone topped with scrambled eggs and cheese with bacon and home fries. So good. My hubs had the build it yourself omelet. Big, fluffy and full of his choices. Sweet little place. I am sure we will be back when we are back in town.

Went for lunch. Ordered: -grilled cheese sandwich on country wheat - sandwich was less than warm. Cheese was hardening up. Still tasty. -Thai coconut chicken soup - light, no cilantro. Food was hearty, good serving size. Great service! Friendly, polite, and fast. Call before you go to make sure they're open.

First up, this place is itty bitty. If it's not nice outside (as in you can't sit in the courtyard) don't roll in here with a big crew. It's kitchen-in-another-building tiny. I was a little perplexed by the process (do you order at the counter? sit and order from a server?) but since I was ordering to-go I just bellied up to the counter and ordered a tomato/mozzarella sandwich. I opted for the side salad and they were happy to bring me a perfectly chilled can of Diet Coke. I admittedly ate my lunch at red lights in the car, but even through the mess I could taste the deliciousness. The walnut bread was absolute heaven, and even being pre-season, the tomatoes were bursting with flavor. The side salad was no castoff, either: super fresh ingredients and delicious dressing, I was tempted to lick the to-go box. I was greeted both coming and going by a super friendly staff, and the whole atmosphere seemed comfortable. They've got free wi-fi if you need it, and I definitely will in the future when I no doubt return for another perfect sandwich.

Four stars on the cinnamon roll with almonds on top alone. A little strange as I walked up to cafe, as people were seated at tables around a courtyard...I couldn't tell if you needed to order at the counter or if there was wait service so I went to the counter. Staff was very nice and I got my order quickly. Good casual cafe to grab breakfast. Located in a group of businesses along College Ave, accessed around the back of the buildings, there's plenty of parking.

Went here for lunch today. I ordered the Monte Cristo on walnut leek bread and hubby ordered the Salmon. Our server was very friendly and the food came out quickly. My sandwich was a little on the small side. The Salmon sandwich was pretty big. Although I liked the Monte Cristo very much it seemed to be missing something. Maybe because I was hoping for a Monte Cristo like I used to get back home. :( All in all. A nice place with good food.

ducks...i really really tried to like you. i came 4-5 times even became the foursquare mayor here. Each time i came and left feeling a bit disappointed, a little by the food but more by the service and it wasn't ever busy. I came today at 8:30AM (yelp said it opens 8AM) and they told me they started to open at 9AM cause business was slow. They let me hang out till they opened. So I hung out...I sat there till 9AM...then 9AM passed...I was the only one in the restaurant with the two workers. I was ignored... 9:20AM still sitting there...I asked again what time they open they told me 9am and went back to what they were doing, folding napkins, talking to each other...i finally got up and walked over to them. "oh did you want food?"...seriously? well this mayor is resigning.

Okay, maybe I ate at a different restaurant. I had the turkey sandwich and potato salad and neither were anything to write home about. They're overpriced, the food was bland and I was left feeling hungry. I'm glad it's healthy but I want to be full! In Decatur, I'd go to Pastries a Go Go or Southern Sweets. Duck's gets no quacks from me.

Duck's Cosmic Kitchen is doing a special October only Friday night dinner menu featuring small plates and wine/beer pairings. Had dinner there last night with friends. The outdoor patio was transformed with candlelight paper lanterns and a roaring fire. Duck's has really exceeded expectations with exceptionally creative and well executed riffs on Southern classics. The pimento cheese puffs were heavenly with a warm crunch and liquid cheese center. The beet salad with goat cheese, candied pecans and lime basil oil was the best version I've ever had anywhere. The Knuckle sandwich is actually a sublime pulled pork with North Carolina bbq sauce. The special oysters were fried in a tempura type batter and were exceptional. Duck also produced warm asparagus baked in the oven and coated with panko. Treat yourself and go next Friday evening. Their talented pastry chef has also produced the best molten dark chocolate cake in town. They promise to start these evening pairings again next Spring

Ducks cosmic kitchen was one of the most surprising and delightful discoveries we have had in Decatur. Service has ALWAYS been exquisite, on the dozen or so occassions we have been there we have never had slow or bad service. They have always been super friendly and sometimes quicker than desired. The menu is pretty simple but incredibly tasteful. Our favorites are the pork sandwich, the fig and prosciutto sandwich, and the desserts are incredible but you cannot go without trying the donuts. This is one of our goto restaurants on the weekends.

Pretty good small place hidden behind the new storefront on New St in Decatur. The server was nice and the menu was limited but I managed to find something decent in the special of buckwheat pancakes with peaches, pecans, peach syrup and a side of veggie patty. the veggie patty ended up being my favorite. it was spicy and flavorful with a little crunch. I wish the peaches were actually fresh. nevertheless it was good for it's purpose: a quick meal. I might come back again with a friend if I was in the area.

I admit, we only had the doughnuts. Everything else looked incredible, but it was a quick coffee stop... And then we saw the doughnuts. Wondering aloud if we should try a doughnut, a customer piped up "they're CRACK" while snarfing a doughnut. She was right. The doughnuts are the cakey, baked variety. Granulated sugar and cinnamon on the outside gives plenty of flavor and texture. They're sweet but not the glazed, tooth-goo-coating insane sweetness. Perfect with coffee. We went back the next day (yes, addictive doughnuts), but they were closed (Sunday). Will try their sandwiches sometime. With a doughnut, of course. There's a delicious looking brie & prosciutto on the menu. Have I mentioned the doughnuts? I highly recommend them. Unless it's the last one in the case. If it is, then it must be awful and you should save it for me. (And Dancing Goats Coffee seems to serve some of these delicious doughnuts, too.)

What is most impressive about Duck's is that is has the nice, warmest, genuine service I have ever encountered on a consistent basis. The girls that work here are beyond kind. One of my new favorite dishes is the panzanelle pizza. I usually shy away from pizzas at a place that doesn't specialize in them, but gave it a shot anyway. It was great! The arugula salad on top and fresh tomatoes and sliced Parmesan made it light and refreshing. The cheese crust itself was great too.

duck's is a quaint little place tucked away in a small shopping center in decatur off of new street. seating is very limited so come early (or late) and come in a small group. the first thing i must say is that the staff is very friendly and helpful. our server was always refilling our cups and checking up on us, but not in the annoying way. i ordered the veggie burger (which goes against every fiber of my being), just because other yelpers raved about it and our server sold it when she described it. my friends ordered: the panzanella pizza, the margherita pizza, and the james calvin. first the veggie burger. i was really surprised about this veggie burger. nice and crispy on the outside, mushy and vegetable-y on the inside (i don't mean that in a bad way). it was actually very flavorful and not like anything i've tasted... burgerwise. you can take it form me as a veggie burger skeptic, this is pretty dang good. my only gripe with it was the bread. the bread tasted good, i just wish it was softer. it was a kind of dense sandwich bread. i wished it had the same taste but in bun form. it came with a side salad which was good especially with the dried cherries (i think, or maybe they were craisins?) and the vinaigrette sauce was excellent. my friend with the panzanella said it was delicious with just the right balance of salad to pizza. my friend, mk with the margherita said it was "good, but the dough is too thick for a margherita". she wanted me to quote her. my other friend with the james calvin said it wasn't worth getting. even though it's supposed to be a beef sandwich, it tasted more like pork. stay away, was his suggestion. seems like the yelpers favorites reigned true for my visit: the veggie burger and the panzanella were winners. we didn't get to try the donuts, but i hear they're fantastic! i believe this place is a partner with dancing goats so maybe i'll try the donuts over there instead since i frequent dancing goats more. all in all, check this place out. organic foods, friendly staff - can't beat that. for me, i'd definitely have to be in the mood to eat here again though.

So, I work down the street from this place. I've never had the donuts that so many people carry on about but have been 4 or 5 times for lunch. The staff is nice but the setup is kind of odd. There isn't much seating period but if it is a nice day you can sit outside. The food here is pretty good. I would probably rate the food 3.5 to 4 stars but have had some misses. The breads are good and fresh but not nearly has good as I was hoping. I was really excited to have the olive bread but didn't feel that it was that flavorful. Again, not bad but not great. I love that the side salad is basically a small version of their cosmic salad. Most lunch places don't bother to put decent toppings (blue cheese, sunflowers, etc) on their salads. The James Calvin sandwich is pretty good. They have a prosciutto and fig sandwich - of which I love the idea - but it was kind of blah. What I've had of the deserts have been excellent (a cookie and brownie). I really want to give this place a 4 star review because I like what they are trying to do and the localness of it all but can't quite do it. If only I could give 3.5. *sigh* (Take note Yelp, take note)

Duck's is worth the trip if you are looking for great bakery treats or delicious sandwiches. For lunch the other day I ordered the Bacon, Egg and Blue, scrambled eggs, bacon, blue cheese, lettuce and tomato on country wheat bread and it was yummy! There was just the right amount of blue cheese so it was not overpowering. Also, the side salad was fresh and Duck's vinaigrette was delicious (not exactly sure what is in the dressing). The doughnuts were good and I usually don't care for doughnuts. I can't wait to go back to try the chocolate chip cookies!

I was recently taken to Duck's last Sunday for brunch. We sat outside near the kitchen and enjoyed the afternoon. I ordered the TABLE, BLT+A, hold the homemade mayo, please. It was delish. It came with a side of crisp potatoes. The sandwich was comprised of two scrambled eggs, bacon, avocado, and lettuce served on homemade bread. I'm excited to get back to Duck's to try their lunch menu. It looks fabulous. I also like how they grow their own herbs and how everything is made on site. I love a good organic restaurant. Thanks for a great meal Ann and Cindy!

Dear Lilly, That was a supremely weak review. How about you try the food next time before gracing us with such informed analysis? Dear Duck's, You rule. Keep up the great work. Dear readers, Try the panzanella pizza (a delicious mess), the bistro pork sandwich (understated and incredible) or the cookies. This quaint bistro is charming and underrated.

Silly name, delicious sandwiches, with tasty high grav beers to drink with them. In fact, the only real downside to the sandwiches is that you might react like my boyfriend, who looked sadly at his (generously proportioned) pot roast sandwich on leek bread and declared that he wanted more of this. On a plate. With a fork. I've heard the bakery selection, especially the donuts, come highly recommended as well, but I'll have to go back to try. The seating's mostly outdoor, although they have some annex indoor seating if you ask.

The baked goods are especially delicious here. I'm not usually a huge doughnut fan, but their homemade doughnuts are so yummy - they melt in your mouth. And their cherry scones are my absolute favorite in town. The James Calvin is my usual choice of sandwich - it's very filling with pot roast on homemade bread with walnuts. Just tried the pizza this last weekend and that was tasty as well. I thought the staff was very attentive and we enjoyed sitting in the sun on their patio. So, be patient if they're out of some of the pastries when you visit - the food is popular here, so it goes fast (especially on the weekends). Their scones and doughnuts are definitely worth a return visit! You can also check out their food at Dancing Goat's coffee in Decatur. This is a nice weekend option for a Duck's fix since Duck's is closed on Sundays.

Ducks has one of THE BEST VEGGIE BURGERS!!! It's served on olive bread and is perfectly crispy on the outside. The soups are usually creative + yummy and change daily. The service is friendly and they make you feel like a regular. Parking is easy. I haven't been for brunch but have heard rave reviews from friends.

I love the brunch here. Great coffee, simple offerings that are each delicious. You can get something more breakfasty or a lunch sandwich or pizza. The scrambled egg brunch pizza is fantastic. Seating is a little uncomfortable with metal tables/chairs scattered outside and cramped quarters in a satellite room, but on a cool sunny day - it can be perfect.

Had heard great things from friends about Duck's and was in the area today and finally stopped in. Was confused at first - the building that is labeled as Ducks is now just the kitchen and there is an actual dining room behind it in the main building. Had great asparagus soup - lots of fresh asparagus, creamy but not heavy and a nice lemony flavor. Also had a sandwich (no breakfast - was starving!) The James Calvin - this was not bad - the gravy on the pot roast was a little too salty for my taste but overall it was still good. The walnut bread was nice. Will probably try a different sandwich next time. Have had the doughnuts at Dancing Goats before - didn't know they came from here. Was too full for one today but have been craving one ever since I left! Glad I tried it and will definitely be back. Seems to be all "homemade", fresh foods served by nice people. Yep, a little more expensive than your average lunch - mine ran 13 - but for food of the quality they serve where lunch at Panera or similar can run 10, it was definitely worth it.

I have heard people rave about this place due to the walnut bread. So I ordered a roast beef with jue sandwich with a side of potatoes and a small donut. The donut tastes like a soft crumbly cake w/ cinnamon sugar, very tasty, get the tiny bite size one, that is plenty. The bread was a bit on the dry side, but it soaked up the Jue nicely, but the overall quantity and quality of the sandwich to me was not worth 9.50. My lunch came out to be 13.00 which included coffee and the donut. I think it's a bit hefty, if you are craving of a roast beef sandwich, go for Panera, they are a chain, but they do not disappoint!

I recently visited Duck's and was pleasantly surprised! I ordered the shrimp cakes and they were delicious. The perfect meal for a beautiful fall day. I also had a glass of white wine that wasn't my normal but suggested by an informed server; it too was delicious. And then I had the bread pudding for dessert and I can't go on enough about it! I will definitely will be back with friends in tow!

Duck's is a great lunch spot. The sandwiches, soup and doughnuts were truly delicious. Though the service was very welcoming and knowledgeable, it was in no way attentive. We were one of 2 tables seated in the whole place, yet we sat with empty coffee cups and piles of dirty dishes for entirely too long. What Duck's lacks in efficiency it more than makes up for in good food and a friendly atmosphere.

Rarely do I try an new restaurant I like, but this was an exception. I had the black bean cakes - they were great! So was the lentil soup I had before it and so was the cinnamon roll I had afterwards. They care about good food and good service. That seems to be hard to find these days.

This is probably my favorite restaurant in Atlanta! I have eaten there many times, and have never been disappointed. The food is fantastic, service is great- super friendly staff, and wonderful deserts! I would reccomend this to anyone- especially the sandwiches-I have tried them all and they are all great.

Their specialty is suppose to be their cinnamon donuts, yet when I went there on a Saturday, they were out. We drove especially out there to try them, but they didn't have anymore. It was very disappointing. And the pastry case they did have didn't look very appetizing, so we didn't even try anything.
