We order pizzas to go pretty regularly. Great food and great service! The salads are great too!

Decent food in a homey, pleasant atmosphere. The restaurant is somewhat large with outdoor seating, even, but the tables are close and the decor also makes it feel like a hometown, family-owned restaurant (which I think it is). Our waitress was great, as we were thirsty from the day's events and she made sure our sodas were always full. The menu is extensive, so it's hard to decide upon an entree. We got breadsticks -- a variety of different types -- which were solid, and my personal pan pizza was quite satisfying. Not thin crust at all -- I can only describe it as similar to what Pizza Hut would be if it were trying to be a homemade, tasty pizza -- great, chewy crust and toppings that need to be cut with a fork and knife. We also got the Tour of Italy, which had chicken parm, lasagna, and manicotti, and all were quite tasty. All in all, a really solid place to get a solid meal that is better than what I could make at home. As a huge NY style pizza fan, I was also surprised how much I really liked the pizza (which is BOGO for take out, btw -- seriously?! Yes, please!)

Well the place was near full so they must be doing something right. The food is more home cooking Italian/Greek - it's not high quality, or even medium-high high - than high fallutin Italian/Greek. It's very much quantity over quality. This is from a single visit and a party of four. I doubt it gets better from a food perspective however. So if you're hungry and looking for some pseudo-Italian/Greek then this is the place for you. If you want something that resembles real Greek or Italian, the kind you'd find in Europe, then look elsewhere. But please note - this is not a recommendation to go to Macaroni Grill instead of Giorgio's! A brief example: the Caesar salad needed way more garlic, or even some garlic as I couldn't taste any. Let alone some anchovies. And it's made with iceberg lettuce. But it's edible.

Salty, pre cooked food, canned sauces, canned mushrooms, awful. Service okay. We had calamari, chicken Marsala, chicken piccata. Chicken was dry and tasteless, sauce was watery; like the noodles weren't drained before they were put on the plate. Spend our money elsewhere.

I got a hot tip from a fellow yelper that this place was worth a try. I'm fresh outta Buffalo NY and desperate for a decent pizza with a crust that is crisp and chewy and a pizza that weighs more than the box it came in. Giorgio's def hit the spot and is hot off the press. So far it's the closest thing I've found to a Buffalo za. I've only tried it once, so I'm gonna need to do some more research and scientific studies before I publish my results. But so far so good and I'm looking forward to digging into this place some more. I may have found my go to pizza spot.

The restaurant is owned and operated by a family. This resturant has been in business since sometime in the 1980p s. In a small City / Town over 25 years and with a really nice remodel just completed I am glad they are looking for another 25 years. They food is great, the owner are fantastic with a honestly great staff. I have so many favoites on the menu it is a task for me to order. Everyone needs to stop in and try, I promise you will want to try it again. In fact you may get lucky an see a famous tv personality, yeah you heard it correct the son of the owner was a star on the TV show called the Bachelor. I will continue my regular habit, every Friday, great lunch menu,,oh yeah by the way they have the best homemade hamburger, sounds crazy for an Italian "/ greek place like I said it is all good.

I've had better "Italian" at The Olive Garden. Simple Americanized pasta with the allusion of ethnic flavor, with large portions to make you feel like it's a good deal. Really, you can get better pizza at Mellow Mushroom or even Pizza Hut next door. Go here if you like the Golden Corral.

Our daughter and her family live in Cumming. We just happened to find Giorgio's on one of our visits. It became the place to go when we came up here from Florida. Our company talked us in to coming out of retirement so we live and work in the Johns Creek area now. Yah!! We can now eat at Giorgio's whenever we want. Great food. Tried a number of things on the menu. Always great!! Their breadsticks are out of this world. My mouth waters thinking about them. Highly recommend Giorgio's. Plus they are so nice and you feel part of their family.

I don't know how this restaurant is still in business with the way it is managed. We came here with my family when my in-laws were in town. My wife had a buy one get one free pizza coupon on her phone from a local gym membership. We ordered a round of drinks and a couple of pizzas. My wife told our waitress about the coupon and she said she would check to see if we could use it. She came back and said they were not honoring it any longer because they asked the gym it remove it from their promotion. We questioned it because the coupon was clearly still valid. We didn't make a big deal out of it but it was clear they were wrong. The server said she would double check with the owner. Again it wasn't that big of a deal because it was just a pizza. She came back and said she called the owner and he didn't understand why the coupon was still being offered. Now for the kicker. He said he would honor the coupon if we took the pizza to go. WHAT? We were going to order more drinks and maybe get dessert. Horrible customer service. He was punishing us for an issue he was having with the gym. That showed them!!! The server also got our orders wrong and she had never heard of chianti. It's an Italian freak'n restaurant.

I convinced my wife to drive up 400 from Alpharetta to try the restaurant because it is in Cumming where we are going to buy our home. I apologized all the way back to Alpharetta where we ended up eating at Vinny's instead. Here's the deal: The customer is right. You are in the business of SERVING your customer, not telling them what you will and will not do... period! If I'm going to drop $80.00 on a meal for two, I expect to receive service, not be told what they are willing to serve me. Their menu claimed that you could get spaghetti and several other options with the Gyro Plate. I ordered the spaghetti and was told it came with fries. I showed the server where the menu said spaghetti was an option. She took the menu and left. She returned a minute later and said that they were going to be changing the menu and I could not have the spaghetti. She asked if the fries were okay and I said no, that I would look for something else. She walked away and I thought it over and decided that if I want spaghetti, whether it normally comes with the meal or not, they should accommodate and add the additional cost to the ticket. Regardless of the fact that it was CLEARLY listed on the menu. The service was, therefore, unacceptable. I refuse to be dictated to by anyone, much less a server or restaurateur. They are in the service industry and would do well to remember as much. UPDATE: I have been contacted by the owner and assured that this is not the normal experience to be found at Giorgio's. His note to me was apologetic and he offered me a coupon if I would give them another chance. Since I will be in town in the coming week, I will go in, unannounced and without a coupon, and give them another chance. This is not about getting a comp meal. This was about poor service and I hope that it was just a one time thing. I really hope to like this place. FINAL UPDATE: As promised, I returned to Giorgio's and had a meal. The order was handled well. The food was delivered promptly and the experience was a good one. As promised by the owner, everything went as it should. They did NOT know that I was the writer of the this review until after I paid the tab, so it was not a set up where they knew. I was just another customer and everything was great. I've readjusted my stars and it has moved up from 1 STAR to 4 STARS. I will be returning in the future.

This is my favorite place for Greek food!!! They have Italian and Greek food here! Everything that they have is awesome! The calamari is so fresh. Some of my favs are the "tour of Greece" which has 3 meats, Greek green beans and Greek potatoes!! Another one of my favs are the pizzas!!! They are awesome! I always eat so much that I am full for dessert but O M GGGGgggg!!! There cakes are to die for!!!! Can't wait to go back again soon!!!

We have not eaten here for awhile, but we had always enjoyed in past. I can say that things are up to par and everyone in our party throughly enjoyed their meals. Being Wednesday and sticking to our tradition of pasta day, that was the direction we all headed. There was a nice selection to meet our needs but three of us went for the "Tour or Italy" and my son's girl friend went for a Stromboli. The Tour consisted of lasagna, choice of chicken, veal or eggplant parmigiana and either manicotti or cannelloni with a side order of pasta. The meal also came with a nice salad. The service was excellent and very attentive. One problem that we had was a Yelp coupon for a discount, no one new how to do it. We were told not to worry the discount would be taken care of and it was with no issues. I can not wait to return, they have some very interesting Greek items on the menu.

The last time we ordered pizza, the pizzas were...I just don't know how to describe them. Limp. Lifeless. Uncooked. It was bad. So...we stuck them in the oven, hoping that would help. Nope. So I called the restaurant to let them know. This was out of the ordinary, so I was hoping it wasn't a sign of decreasing quality. Today we called to try again after we were told we would receive a credit on our account. They were so wonderful, offering to do whatever necessary to make up for the last time. The pizzas turned out perfectly. Every restaurant is going to have a bad night. Most don't respond well or offer to fix the mistake without making it seem like it wasn't their fault. The customer service we received combined with the excellent pizza has ensured we'll continue to make Giorgio's our go-to pizza place!

What a great family restaurant! Everything on the menu is wonderful. My favorite is the Greek soup, but the gyro plate, chicken parmesan, salads, and the pizzas are wonderful. The owners make you feel as if you are guests in their home. They are friendly and accommodating. The food comes out delicious, hot, and exactly how it is ordered.

I eat at Giorgio's 10+ years ago and recently moved back to Cumming....I remembered the food was delicious. Tonight I took my husband for an "Italian treat" to celebrate our anniversary. The food was just as good as remembered but our sever was slack. Completely disappearing for long periods of time. Disappointing to say the least.

My husband and I came here for my birthday and we had been here once before and it was great the first time. This time was awful! I ordered the chicken Marsala and it came out very pink so I sent it back. When it came back out, it was runny and rubbery, like they tried to mask it with the runny Marsala sauce. The mushrooms were canned, they were cold and also rubbery and just weren't fresh at all. The whole plate was a disaster. My husband ordered the chicken Alfredo and that's a pretty simple dish but it was bland and cold, he couldn't finish it. The waitress was not very apologetic and made it seem like it was our fault the kitchen messed up. The manager was no where to be found, either. He/she didn't come over to apologize or anything. I work in the food industry, I know how guests should be treated and with respect and there clearly wasn't any in this place. Don't waste your money (or your birthday!) here!!

Had dinner with a large group (16) Wednesday evening and the restaurant had quite a crowd. Service was excellent and the food was very good. Constantine (from the Bachelorette) was very personable when we chatted with him. I'd definitely recommend Giorgios and will eat here again.

This place is only good for its pizza, tiny lunch menu pizzas. Pasta, yuck. Calamari appetizer, double yuck. I think the breading they use for Mrs. Paul's fish stick is the same stuff those previously frozen calamari are in. I probably won't come back here. I get the willies just thinking about it.

My family and I went to Giorgio's last Wednesday after visiting my granddaddy at the hospital. Our waitress couldn't of been sweeter and more accommodating. She handled our large (loud) party with such ease. She has worked there for 20+ years which speaks volumes of the place. She knew every dish and had great suggestions. We got the calamari as an app along with the rolls which were amazing. I had the black bean soup with the fixings which was great too! I ordered the chicken piccata and had a lot of leftovers for the next day too. So much flavor! My mom got the chicken Marsala and I couldn't stop stealing bites. I took home my dad's Alfredo dish and about died when I tried it. So perfect, no words to adequately describe it. I didn't get to try anyone else's food because it was too good for them to want to share. We got 2 deserts one was like 4 different cakes in layers and the other was like a chocolate mouse cheesecake, both were great. I left full and had no guilt because it was way worth it! So glad we stumbled across this place. Best italian food I've had in a long time! I waited tables at a family owned Italian restaurant in college and am a bit of a food snob and this place has my seal of approval! Can't wait to come back and try some Greek food!

Giorgio's doesn't have a fancy atmosphere, but a great family feel to it. My co-workers and I came here for lunch, the dishes average about $10 per plate, which comes with breadsticks with a soup or salad. You definitely won't leave feeling hungry. The server recommended to me the gryo plate and greek salad, which were both very good choices. I'll have to save room next time to try some of their desserts.

We stopped in today, my husband loves their Gyros. They didn't know it was me, of course, but I received the best service here today! Irving was friendly, fast, and even brought breadsticks! Rebecca stopped by to ask how we were and I told her how pleasantly surprised I was to be receiving such great service! Even Suhail checked in and asked if I needed extra dressing! Great job and glad we can start visiting here again!

We have lived in Cumming and have never eaten at Giorgio's Restaurant until today's lunch. I COULD NOT HAVE BEEN HAPPIER!!! Excellent service, delicious food, & the owner came over to our table to welcome us as "first-timers" to his 20-year old business. Home-cooked food, hand-made breads, attention to detail and fresh ingredients...Can I say "AWESOME"??!!!! I will be back for dinner with friends. Any business owner who takes his valuable time to greet us at our table and personally welcome us DESERVES OUR BUSINESS!!!! Well, HE'S GOT OUR LOYALTY!!! Stop in for a lovely meal served with pride & professionalism!!!! WELL DONE, GIORGIO'S!!!

My husband and I LOVE Giorgio's! The owners are the nicest folks you will ever meet. They treat you like family!! My favorite dish is their personal pan veggie pizza. Oh. My. Gosh. This is the best pizza I have ever had in the state of Georgia. It is loaded with veggies, the crust is absolutely perfect, and their special cheese blend is just unbelievably delicious. My husband's favorite dish is the Athenean Chicken. The chicken falls off the bone it is so tender, the seasoning is incredible, and it never fails to leave him raving when we finish dinner!

We have been "regulars" since we moved here 22 years ago, dining at Giorgio's at least twice a month. That makes at least 528 dinners! Love the veal parm (crispy outside with moist tasty inside) served with a side if spaghetti, fresh garden salad and delicious breadsticks. Also love the Greek salad, lasagna, gyros, and the 2 for 1 take out pizza (best in Forsyth County and great with Greek salads). Service is always warm, friendly, and efficient. Food is consistently great and portions are generous. We usually split a meal or take half home for a nice next-days lunch. This is a favorite Friday night comfort-food dinner spot for us to meet with friends in a local family-owned non-chain restaurant. We never get tired of Giorgio's.

We placed a to go order and was told 20 minutes till pick up. Husband gets there to get the order and was told FOUR times someone would be with him. Another 10 to 15 minutes go by & he notices them getting another persons order. That person leaves and with that he got up and walked out. We just received a call from the person that took our order stating that "uhhh dude your order is ready" My husband stated that he was there & left due to unprofessional service & we will not be back ever. Such a shame because we just recently started dining there again.

I am very pleased with my experience with Giorgio's! We chose them for New Year's Eve catering for a party of 30 and it will be my my go-to for future events. The owner responded to my email inquiry quickly and included a sample menu, options, and price. He was informative, pleasant and easy in correspondence and the price was very fair. I honestly don't think I could have fed that many people for the price we got had I done it myself! We ordered Greek salad, breadsticks, chicken piccata (I was very happy to discover it came w a huge separate pan of linguini), chocolate mousse cake and cheesecake and it was all very good. Almost all of the guests commented on how much they enjoyed it and the guys went back for seconds until it was completely gone. People even commented on how incredible the salad was. The cakes were large and very good. It made our hosting so much easier and I will definitely be recommending and using them again in the future!

I know the reviews were not good, but I heard of the place from TV and a friend of mine said they made a mean Greek salad. I listened to my fellow yelpers and didn't partake in the Italian food. Thought about the stuffed shells but went with the Greek plate. Salad was good, though I had to rush away mid-salad and it was gone when I returned (long story). When we returned, we were seated at a different table. The food was delicious. Lamb, not a usual for me was tasty. Never had greek potatoes and I have to say I'm a fan now. Baklava was eh, ok. I've had better but my friends chocolate mouse cake was amazing! Waitress was friendly. Hostess needs to smile at least once.. she only smiled as we were leaving.... cute homey atmosphere.

I came here with my grandparents recently (they've been eating here for 10 years now) and its by far the best Italian food you can find in Cumming. I had the chicken Marsala. It was cooked perfectly, and the sauce was excellent!

I've been going to Giorgio's for years. This place will never let you down. From the Gyro's to the pizza to the lasagna or salads, you will not be let down. The deserts are crazy good also. The prices can't be beat and the portions are huge. Be ready to either be rolled out of there or have enough to bring home for a full dinner the next night. The bottom line is, this is a family owned place (not a chain), they have been in business for as far back as I can remember (there's a reason for that), the food is Great, the portions HUGE, and the prices VERY reasonable. Not to mention the owners are very nice and personable. They actually really appreciate your business unlike some chain restaurant that doesn't really care if you ever come back. Even better, 2 for 1 pizza's to go.

Im not sure where some of these les than 3 stars ate at but I think they have the best pizza is the best in town and 2 for 1 carryout. The menu offers a variety of food from Pastas, wings, salads, and even some great cheeseburgers (large portions). The service is always good. Its a random thought to get wings at an Italian place but I Love their wings. Grecian Calamari is awesome. If you like the service\food tell people about, if you dont tell the manager so they can improve your experience.

Sadly I found Giorgio's only 5 years ago. To say that I love it is an understatement. Their Chicken Parm Florentine is off the hook!

  • William S.

Solid 3.5 stars. The Italian dishes while large are not special (Being Italian I am critical mind you). Pizza here is good. The buy one get one take out is a decent deal. The main reason I am giving Giorgio's 3.5 stars rounded up, is due to the Greek salad. This is the best Greek salad I have found locally (Babas Gyro and Kabob is a very close second). It is hard to find a quality salad for a decent price anymore. Hence, when my wife and I are craving salad (and not making it at home), Giorgio's is our answer.

    (4)
  • Benjamin F.

Every time I eat at Giorgio's I crush the Gyros and Baklava. It has a great family run atmosphere and the wait staff is always friendly. Ignore the negative reviews as there is great value in every dish. Great by the glass wines too :)

Normally, you can go to a restaurant, let them know you are going to order to go, but unwind first and have a drink or two while you wait, especially when 50% of tables are not occupied and that is not an issue. Alas, not the case at Giorgio's. Not only did I get the 20 questions, I was sent to the To-Go window, and if I wanted anything else for here, like a glass of wine while I wait, go and get seated. Ok, people are really nice, but the process needs improvement. Will comment on pizza once we have it.

  • John E.

I come here every time I pass thorough Cumming. As far as I know everything is completely homemade still. I read some of the reviews and am shocked at anyone who would rate it low. I crave this place all the time. BEST salad in town, try the eggplant(if you like a thick cut....not thinly sliced), order a pizza and finish the night with a turtle cheesecake! Yum!!!!!!

    (5)
  • Andrea S.

Great great gyro. Bread was awesome. Chicken/Lamb (we got both) was tasty. Good tzatziki (sp) sauce. The bread sticks were a little stale, but I'd still go back for the Gyro. Also, the guy we picked up from was NOT in a bad mood.

  • Mitchy B.

Not much to choose from in Cumming so this place is def. better than having to go to chain restaurants.. Patio area is actually pretty cute and the inside is not bad as well, service kinda sucks (both times ive been there) but the food is decent. I get the chicken alfredo florentine everytime i go there because its sooo good, really big portions, my BF gets the gyro plate which he likes as well, but like some of the reviews here food here isnt home made and you can tell, so if ur going for a true italian experience go elsewhere.

    (3)
  • Andrew M.

So this restaurant was alright in my book, but the service staff was the true highlight of the experience so that's why they get the 4 stars. We had the bruchetta which was great, and then enjoyed a various array of italian/greek entrees, all of which we were very happy with. Service staff was very kind and engaging, truly the best part of the restaurant. Hate to say it but those girls are waiting their talents, they should be in a much nicer fine dining restaurant's they do this restaurant justice.

A Cumming institution, but I'm not sure why. Giorgio's has been around for years and the menu hasn't changed much. You'll find a lot of Italian "standards" here and some Greek here, but the problem is this: it tastes prepackaged. The tomato sauce is uninspired and tastes canned, the Alfredo is watery, and the pasta seemed frozen or dry. When Cumming didn't have that many restaurants to choose from, Giorgio's could get away with brought-in, industrial, frozen food, but in this day and age there's much better food elsewhere for your buck.

  • Mark R.

One of the older joints that has survived. The food is ok, and they tend to give big portions. The pizza is pretty good, a bit on the greasy side, but at buy ne get one free for take out, we eat it on occasion. They also used to have a greek plate that was pretty decent. The prices were about right for the quality imho.

  • Josh A.

I love this place. We eat here as much as possible, but living quite far makes getting here as often as I would like difficult. The owner of this establishment is Greek, and the Greek items on their menu are dynamite. I get the Gyro Plate, and the meat is perfectly seasoned and prepared. Family friendly atmosphere and you can often see the owner tending to the tables within the restaurant. They also offer a wonderful tree shaded patio to enjoy in the warmer months. There are better "Italian" restaurants in town; however, Giorgios Greek food cannot be beat.

    (4)
  • Carissa S.

Do not eat the eggplant. Worst I have ever had. Gyro salad is good. Pizza is not worth money although theta do buy 1 get 1 for takeout.

Giorgio's is a local Italian restaurant, it is not a resturant that has knock you down authentic Italian but if you are looking for reasonably priced dishes and family atmosphere your here. The pizza is great, so is the rigitoni and gyros. The hamburgers and hamburger steak is also good. It is in my mind a good place to go if you are planning a get together or for lunch they have personal pan pizza. I have been going here for years.

"I want spaghetti with meatsauce, add some mushrooms, and a side salad with viniagrette, Diet Coke, please." So everyday, so innocently began George's Grande Gastronomic Misadventure." What th'? I can see through the Coke like it's iced tea! Where's the bubbles?" Sip. "It's Diet Diet Diet Coke Lite, a.k.a. watered down yoooshhhh!" Ordered replacement, no "i'm sorry, sir", just a big frown and- wait for it-wait for it- wait for it....Salad landed. "OOOO! Look at all the dressing!" Chomp. "Water? Why is water in my salad?" Replacement Coke arrived, plopped off, waitperson tried to escape, but waving my salad in the air caused a deer-in-the-headlights diversion. "I think someone in your kitchen didn't dry off the lettuce properly. Please bring me another salad (nicely said, I swear it)." Frown again and -wait for it- wait for it... Big bowl of spaghetti, good looking sauce, nice pile of mushrooms. Stick in the fork, twirl and- voila! "Water in the bottom of the bowl?!!!" The manager comped my check, light brown Coke and all, and I ended up at Altobeli's 'cause I had my jones on for pasta, capeche?

  • S W.

Pizza is pretty good, comparable to Mellow Mushroom. They offer buy one get one free pizzas on take out orders, which beats delivery service prices. I always end up getting the gyro platter, which is served with "zazeeki" sauce, made me laugh at it's authenticity, but it's pretty good and the only place in that area that serves gyros. I'm not impressed with the spaghetti as a side, I gave it to my brother because he eats anything. He only ate the sauce off it and left the noodles, I guess that should say something? But if I ever need to order pizzas, Giorgio's will be my first choice.

    (3)
  • Teresa D.

You'll be disappointed if it is good italian food your after but the gyro sandwich is pretty decent. Most things other than that I have tried tasted like it came from a box or can, nothing homemade here.

This was my first time dining at this place and we were craving Italian. We thought instead of the usual chains (which I try to stay away from), we would hopefully get some homemade local Italian food. Well we were extremely disappointed with the quality of the food. I had the cannelloni and and my wife had the chicken Marsala. The cannelloni was far from homemade. The sauce tasted like it came straight out of the can. I usually take home leftovers, but opted to not even bother. My wife's Chicken Marsala was lacking the marsala wine taste. Almost like a country gravy. The side dish of noodles were way overcooked. The breadsticks were tough and dry. The wine menu was two notches below par. I should have known what we were in for if my only choices of wine were Yellowtail and Hob Nob. I will not attempt Italian there again but may try the greek menu or pizza.

Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
