Underwhelming, lackluster experience. I had heard such great things about Cheddar's, but when I finally had the chance to go and eat here, I was completely let down. First of all, our server. Le sigh. She seemed like she didn't even want to be there, let alone take our order. Second, the atmosphere. It was FREEZING! Like the AC was on full blast. It was colder indoors than it was outdoors. :-( Third, the food. It was actually tasty, but the service and the environment had already left a bad taste in my mouth (pun intended).

Price was excellent at under $20 with a beer, the serving portions were pretty good, the food isn't bad, but it's not exceptional. Good local spot, but nothing to separate it from crowd.

Everyone knows food is great! How ever their best kept secret is their servers. I had a server named Brian. He was excellent!

We decided to visit for lunch. The waitress dumped a bowl of salad & salad dressing on our son, my purse, the seats & table. Her response was to bring cocktail napkins. I had to ask for a wet rag to clean up. My husband took our son to the bathroom to clean him up. The manger did come over & ask if we were okay after we cleaned everything up. Our meal was not complementary nor reduced. As we were leaving, the waitress did tell me that if I had my purse dry cleaned to bring the bill to Cheddar's. While I was not happy about my purse, I was even more unhappy about my child. I do realize that accidents happen but the actions after were unacceptable.

As soon as we walked into Cheddar's today we were greeted and made us welcome. Our server Megan came to the table with a smile and suggested food for us. Excellent suggestion. Food came out fresh, hot and fast. Portions were more than enough for one person. There was no room for desert. Thank you for a great meal at a fantastic price. Thanks to Megan for superior service.

Hi, I visited cheddars today, 9/19/15, around noon. Our waitress Megan in the bar area was a pleasure and continually checked on us during our visit. There is a difference between providing basic rudimentary service and the pleasing environment of hospitality. She was a very hospitable server and the food was great as well.

We went here on a Monday night and it was pretty packed. Based on the reviews here it seems that's pretty standard. Honestly I'm not sure why. Well, it's not because of the food. I suspect it's because you get a lot of food for a low price. But sometimes you get what you pay for. The place is ok for a physical location. It's just a little noisy because it's so busy. My coworker had the New Orleans pasta and she said it was ok but didn't finish it (in fairness, the portion was pretty big). I had a chicken wrap again it was big and edible but nothing special. My top of the line margarita was still cheap at $6.99 (and like everything else, oversized) but honestly I'm not sure there was actual tequila in it. No chance of getting drunk on those. I suppose this place is better than chain places like Chilis or Ruby Tuesday or something but I've been to a lot of restaurants in Columbus and you can do better than this place.

Ummm this place is awesome! We went on a Sunday at about 1:30 pm. It was a 20 minute wait for two people, but totally worth it! My boyfriend got the Philly cheese steak, so delicious! He also got a top shelf margarita with sangria, it was so good. Our waiter, Connor (I think) was really great. I ordered the vegetable plate. The chicken tortilla soup was yummy and so was the broccoli casserole. It was all delicious! I'm a new fan of Cheddars. Keep up the good work. My only suggestion...pagers for when ppl are on a wait. Oh, and the onion rings look awesome!!! Must get them next time. I just looked at the reviews...for people who complain...they are just miserable and need to order a beer and relax. First world problems. The reason they are always on a wait is because THEY ARE AN AWESOME RESTAURANT! Suck it up, buttercup.

We visited here about three years ago, but honestly, I don't remember much about the restaurant, so I was really looking forward to going today. At appx 2:30 pm, there was a 30 minute wait to get it. That in itself is a good sign. Yeah, I love food, and my waistline shows it, therefore, I was looking for lighter fare today. I tried the Sweet Heat Chicken & Shrimp and it was delicious. The salad was a mix of arugula, endive, spinach and red leaf lettuce. It was very fresh. The tomato herb vinaigrette dressing complimented the salad very well, and they didn't drown the salad with it. The chicken and shrimp were both cooked well and the sweet chili sauce glaze had a touch of kick. My dish was by far my favorite of all the things I tasted. I tasted a few other items at the table... The Mac and Cheese was creamy and tasted it like it had some sort of crumble topping. The Grilled Baja Chicken was good, but the flavor was slightly bland. The lemon pepper chick was tasty, but the lemon pepper seasoning was very salty to me. The chips and salsa were good, but nothing spectacular. However, to me (Mr. Cheapskate), the cost of the meal overshadowed the generally good meal. Most entrees are generally under $10. Overall, I really enjoyed the experience and II look forward to going back again.

I've always gotten good food at this location. The service is good, but wait times to be seated can be rough. They have good portions, good appetizers, and some good dishes. The chicken tenders are good, ribs good, onion rings great, shrimp good, steak good enough, lunch combo with soup or salad awesome, and prices are right.

Had Sunday lunch at Cheddar's on 5/3/2015. Food was excellent, server was very helpful and took great care of us. Bathrooms were kept clean and didn't have to wait long for the food. One note, Sunday's are packed with people so be patient. Great experience!

Cheddar's has a little bit of everything in big servings for a not so big price. I think it can be debated whether or not the food is fresh or frozen, but the end result is what matters. I have enjoyed the experience and food each time I have gone. Is the food mind-blowing? No. In my opinion it is of good quality, tasty, and satisfying. An actual Ribs and steak plate for under $20 that doesn't suck? How can you beat that? When you go, expect a wait. They can get really busy. The wait time varies with the size of your party so plan ahead if it is 5 or more. Cheddar's is a good value for service, food, and experience. I recommend everyone try it once and then come back and try something else on the menu. I don't think there will be many disappointed.

This place was such a disappointment i had heard great things but when I actually went I was sorely disappointed. The hostess was judgmental it was way too loud because they had to have the music louder than the speaking level my boyfriend and I had to scream at each other just to speak to one another they were way over priced and our food was not cooked thoroughly and our steak had more fat than actual meat. All in all I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

It's a great place. I love their croissants, it's probably because they have that thick layer of sweet butter on them. I could eat a whole order by myself, but that never happens. lol. I typically like to order their Chicken Caesar salad without the pasta, but that's just me, my husband thinks I'm weird for it but that's how I like it. Sometimes I order the blackened salmon which is also good with the broccoli casserole (i think that's what it's called) I love me some of that too. Overall I think this place is great. They are typically packed on Sundays but I think they try to move as quickly as possible to have everyone seated.

One of the best experience we ever had in a long time. The food was amazing and the customer service was awesome. They were very busy but we were in and out in a reasonable time. My husband had the steak and ribs which he loved my daughter had cheeseburger and mac and cheese her favorites and i had the Dijon chicken with mushrooms. It was sooooo good. We will go back and i would even consider driving the 2 hours it takes for me to get there just to eat.

As much as I didn't want to like this place, it is probably one of the better eateries in the area. It is consistent, tasty, and the price is right. Burgers, onion rings, cheese dip with beef, and the fried chicken dinner are my favorites. The beer is on point too.

I ordered the New Orleans Pasta because it was fantastic back in 2011 from this very restaurant. I couldn't wait to get back to Columbus for this entrée. It wasn't fantastic this time:( Im sure they've changed ingredients. Where the penne pasta was al dente, it was now over cooked. The shrimp was smaller with way less taste. They traded in that amazing smoked sausage for something of a lesser quality. I had the biggest chunks of bell pepper thrown on my plate like they were in some kind of a hurry to get this disappointment out to me. The chicken was fine, but I'm officially turned off to this dish. This tragedy was discovered on the way home. No turning back for a do over. The waiter was extremely cool, quick, and attentive. Cheddars is an awesome family friendly restaurant. I'll always visit, but I'm now forced to try something different from the menu. RIP New Orleans Pasta.

The menu has options for everyone and the food is great for what you pay (very inexpensive) and the drinks are even better. The Painkiller was incredible, and apparently strong- you can't even taste it. BUT the service was HORRIBLE At first we were seated at a booth in the dining room. The waitress came over and took or drink orders (2 alcoholic beverages and 2 waters). We waited more than 5 minutes next to a table full of screaming babies before the waitress returned empty handed and said she forgot what we ordered. Another few minutes go by and she comes back, still no drinks or even water, and asks to see our IDs. After another minute or 2, she walks by with nothing. We got up and moved to the bar (turns out she never even put in the drink order). Service was great at the bar until shift change when we were forgotten about. Took quite a while to get our check. All in all, if you're able to get a good server, it'll be a great experience

Pretty decent for a casual restaurant. It was a 25 min wait due to Memorial Day. Once seated we were addressed by the friendly waiter. Regular causal atmosphere. Good affordable. Prices. For the 5 of us the bill was $60. It's a cool place.

I ordered the New Orleans pasta and a "pain killer". The drinks took a long time to come out, when I turned around its because the bar tenders are laughing and hanging out not making drinks. When I did get my drink there was maybe a splash of rum, basically a $5 pineapple mix. The pasta came out fast but the chicken that was in it was "gray" and was just the scraps and weird tendon pieces that are on breast meat. I was very disappointed, having been here in the past and enjoying my meal. I probably won't go back or go out of my way to come back to Cheddar's. I would have given it only 2 stars except the waitress was actually good at her job.

Dirty! Liquid of some sort all over floor under table and when I mentioned it the waitress waived it off as it was nothing. A thick layer of dust on light above table and when AC kicked on it blew down into our drinks. Food service is slow- I understand that it's Friday night but that wait was a little too long for food. Situation was addressed with Manager, hopefully he will make some changes. Don't think we will come back since we have been to the original Cheddar's in Texas and they take much better care of their restaurants.

Service was friendly kinda slow but it was pretty busy when we got there so that's understandable I had the New Orleans chicken Alfredo it was pretty good wish it was spicier and the pain killer was awesome!

The food is terrible but I go back anyway because the drinks taste like heaven and the prices are pocket pleasing. If I eat anything, it'll be chicken strips and fries. Seriously, the food is horrible. The service is always wonderful. On the weekends, it's pretty crowded and kind of a long wait for a table. The drinks make up for all of the cons though, Lol.

Sunday night 12 people no problem! Service was outstanding food was good and quantity was huge. Price was very affordable! Lots of reviews on wait time there is a reason! We had no problem but it was 8:30pm on a Sunday night. We have eaten at cheddars in three states. All were consistently good! Good food at a great price go to cheddars!

Obviously frozen, pre-packaged food that comes out in the blink of an eye. Maybe that is a good thing for some, but I'd rather wait for something fresh and tasty that I couldn't microwave for myself. The staff is quick and friendly and seems to be mostly composed of teenagers which leads to overhearing lots of strange/hilarious/vapid personal conversations. Unless you are incredibly pressed for time or in desperate need of material for your teen drama pilot, go some where with a little more local flavor. Or just more flavor.

We went here after reading raving reviews on TripAdvisor. 1) If you have to go, don't go on a Sunday. Our party of 7 waited 2 hours. 2 hours! After our first hour, we decided we were already committed and there had to be a reason why everyone was here. 2) The food is nothing to behold. It tastes like buffet food and I'm sure the crazy wait made it taste even worse. It honestly tasted like a bunch of bagged food that they just re-heated. 3) The waitress kept giving us attitude because she had to do her job. The only positive thing is the inexpensive prices but if we wanted to save money, we wouldn't just gone to a fast food restaurant. I'd stay away if I were you. (Unless you like buffet food...some people do.)

This was a good choice to take a party of 14 this evening.... We got there and had only about a 40 minute wait. The menu had steaks, baby backs, burgers, catfish, shrimp, etc.... A good selection of beer on tap, and what appeared to be a decent happy hour crowd. The noise level was pretty high, which was great for the kids that was in our group.. The meals were all pretty good and served quickly. If there was one downside to this place, and it wasn't just with the group that I brought, there wasn't much table space for large groups. Tables had to be put together, but it seemed as though they weren't interested in making any of the large groups comfortable by adding another table for extra space. Still, we had good time there. I'd just consider someplace else to take a group of more than 8.

Oh, Cheddar's, how do I love thee? I miss the days of Benning when my Lieutenant and I would dine here and be awed by your super-low prices, short waits between ordering and eating, and amazing deals for drinks. And your casual interior beckons potential diners to "come as they are." This place seems to be really popular, so expect a long wait to be seated on weekends. We've never been served anything but a quality meal here. Expect standard American classics here - burgers, ribs, etc. The portions are HUGE, especially for the price, so don't be surprised if you wind up with lots of leftovers! Love the drinks here too. $2 gets you a tall glass of beer, while $5 will get you a nice, strong cocktail that you can baby throughout dinner. If ever I come back to visit Columbus, a return to Cheddar's would be in order. How I miss thee!

Food is always excellent. Just wish it was bigger to accomodate all the people - it is always super crowded. There's always a wait and never any seats at the bar.

The service is fast and very southern friendly. The food was great. Expect to wait a few minutes if going on Sunday as the place is much busier then. A must when going to cheddars is getting their buttered croissants, yum.

Crowded...because everyone in Columbus wants to eat there. Great food--with some unique menu items. Huge portions and best of all: lowest sit-down restaurant prices anywhere.

Nice lil spot. Food is decently priced. I went on a sunday around 2pm. It was about a 20-30min wait. Paid around $35 for 2 meals. Me and my lady.

Went there a week ago with a good size group for dinner. We were seated within 10 minutes, even as busy as they were. The onion rings as an appetizer were great. But the highlight of my night was that they had a Monte Cristo Sandwich there! It was just as good as any I have ever had. The portions served to everyone was great, and the price was unbelievable. We payed almost as much as we would have going to McDonald's. Definitely go if you get the chance.

The Monte Christo (sandwich) is absolutely amazing. I spent my year-long deployment craving this dish, from this very restaurant and was not disappointed! I recommended it highly, and made sure to introduce my team to all its glory!

I was really impressed with Cheddars. It is casual dining and outside there is a small rock waterfall. My son played by it while we waited for our food and a little lizard crawled onto his arm. It was a neat experience. We both really enjoyed our dinners. He, of course, had chicken strips and I had pork roast and vegetables. Mine was divine. As an appetizer we had these amazing crescent rolls with strawberry sauce. I definitely recommend them! Our entire meal was under $20 and that was at dinnertime with sodas. Great service too.

Had never been to Cheddar's before as I'm from the west coast and they don't have them out there. Heard really good things from all of my co-workers though so my husband and I decided we had to check it out! Went at lunchtime and were seated immediately so that was good! Got the chips and queso for an appetizer- only $3.99 and it was plenty for both of us to get our fill! Husband ordered ribs and chicken strips and I ordered the vegetable plate (soup + 4 sides + croissant). All of my sides and soup were really really good but I didn't get a croissant with my meal. After reading the reviews saying how great the croissants were, I kind of wished I had pointed it out to our server that mine was forgotten! My husband's chicken strips were nothing special but they were edible. The ribs, on the other hand, weren't. My husband is a BIG guy and in our 5 years of being together I've never seen him not eat food or send food back- but his ribs were so full of fat and gristle he didn't even eat them. He wasn't going to say anything but when the waiter asked if he wanted a box for them and my husband declined, the waiter was intuitive enough to realize there was something wrong. He immediately had the manager take the ribs off the bill. Customer service here was excellent! Our tea and water never got half-full because the waiter was always there to fill them up for us. Overall good experience and the staff really made up for the poor quality of meat- we will definitely come again (my husband just knows not to order the ribs or chicken strips next time!)

Ate there for lunch yesterday. Ordered the Buffalo Chicken Tenders sandwhich for $6.50. 4 huge wraps with tenders and fries. Was decent, alot of food though! The customer service was the best I have ever had. Atmosphere was awesome.
