The service was just Meh. In fact, there was a woman working at the front when I walked in that has some serious RBF (which I get... I do too) But not a good look in your industry....and seriously...Don't wave your hand, as if to brush me off, to tell folks to go sit down. It kinda half P***ed me off, but whatever..I was also hungry. The guy that did come to help me (I sat at the bar) was cool. No BS, I got beer and tacos. Simple as my meal was... this was AWESOME. Pulled pork, shredded beef, and chicken. The chicken wasn't great, but the others were amazing. Very good place...

Food: 2 stars Service: 4 stars* The nachos here were okay. They put potatoes in the nachos, making them way to heavy to eat with chips. The pieces of chicken/pork/beef that my group had were tasty, but again, way too big to put on a chip. The nachos my group had also had a fruity-type sauce that didn't sit too well with the cheese, meat, and other nacho ingredients. The saving grace would be the regular chips and cheese dip. This was a little on the pricey side, but good especially compared to the nachos. *You don't really interact with the staff here, since it's just an order and pick-up-yourself type of deal.

I never pass up an opportunity to eat a Nacho Mama's. I have eaten here every day for a week before. I generally choose soft tacos (chicken, chicken and spinach, potato, black bean) because I can control the amount of food more easily- but everything offered here is delicious. Once you get to burritos and quesadillas, the portions are kinda huge, but the ingredients are fresh and you can't beat the prices. The ONLY complaint is that they could get better brand tortilla chips, but generally I just get the salsa or queso just to put it directly on my food so sketchy chips is a minor problem. Have some tacos or a burrito, enjoy the local Art, congratulate yourself on a cheap and delicious meal and take in the atmosphere of good vibes and good people.

We had lunch here today. Fast service and good food. Recommend the God Father burrito!

Someone said this place was good, so I decided to try it. I ordered the daddy nachos with chicken and got the food to-go. I didn't have a very long drive home so I thought they would be okay, but was disappointed in the nachos that they served. They were pretty bland and kind of forgettable. I won't count this place out forever, but there are plenty of other great restaurants in the local area that I haven't hit yet.

Despite wanting to try so many things on their menu (that all sound amazing), I always end up with my go-to of two pulled pork soft tacos. They are just so darn tasty! The tacos have a lot of meat plus they're topped with handfuls of lettuce, pico de gallo, and cheese. At $2.75 each, you really can't go wrong.

Decent place to go for lunch downtown. Had my first visit here today. I was WOWed but the food wasn't gross. It was pretty tasty and surprisingly non greasy. I had the Daddy Nachos. The chicken was very good & the guac tasted excellent as well! Food took a bit long to get out, there's no ice machine at the serve yourself drink station so I had to wait for an ice refill (not a huge deal, just an annoying inconvenience) and the place was a little sticky. There also wasn't many larger tables for groups bigger than 4. The staff was pretty nice and the food was tasty, so I would def give Nacho Mama's another shot!

I really wanted to like this place, but the service left a lot to be desired. I tried the cheese dip and it tasted like it was store bought cheese dip. The chips tasted like they came straight out of the bag. I ordered a top shelf margarita and it was horrible. I don't know what kind of mix they used but it did not taste like a margarita at all. I was so disappointed I didn't order anything else and I left the cheese dip and mostly undrinken margarita on the table and left.

  • Ashley C.

Kind of ironically, the only thing I've had here that I didn't really like was the nachos. The chicken quesadilla and the basic burritos are awesome. The burritos are served with beans and rice, they're more than enough to take leftovers. The beer selection sucks, but the strawberry margaritas are good. Also, you can get your food delivered to Stillwater, the bar next door, for free. Even better, they seem to be cool with us parking our bikes on the inside. The prices are pretty low, but there's no waiter service and they still have a tip line. I mean, I get it and you should tip, but it may be considered a little overpriced. I'm here every 2 to 3 weeks and definitely recommend it!

The tacos I got yesterday were delicious but today I have food poisening. I won't be going back because of it.

Tacos are awesome! You have to try the homemade guac! You cannot go wrong on this menu, I've never had anything I didn't like.

  • Aj S.

I love their margaritas! Their burritos aren't the best I've ever had, but I wouldn't say they were bad either. Good convenient spot downtown with a cool vibe.

    (4)
  • Frank N.

Come here if you don't want anything unique or interesting... It's best appreciated if you've been drinking... Nothing is bad here, but nothing is really good. Know what I mean?? To be fair. I guess I came in here after an amazing Mexican meal in Camden, SC the night before, and thought it could be replicated here. It was not. My Mahi Mahi Quesadilla wasn't even crispy; the cheese was barely hot.... Beyond the poor preparation , it just had no flavor whatsoever... I also ordered a Beef and Black bean taco, and the quality was similar... They also pile a lot of water flavored shredded iceberg lettuce on everything... Too much... Is that to make it look like there is more food? Or to give the appearance that the taco is overstuffed?? I don't know....

I find that one chicken taco is an excellent and complete meal. I usually stop with that. But nachos or a quesadilla are also excellent at Nacho Mama's.

My siblings and I brought my mom here for mother's day(not your traditional American mother's day lunch) and she loved it! It is such a cool spot in downtown Augusta on a Sunday afternoon! The food is great and you get so much in those wraps it's ridiculous! Really cool spot, Oh I already said that! They have great art work on the walls, I don't know if you can purchase them, maybe you can they have the prices beside the work! Really cool staff and easy to read menu(that's important)! They serve it all from seafood, chicken, pork, and veggie choices good eating! If ever in the downtown area stop by and visit those great folks at Nacho mama's..they've been "rollin' fat since 1996" !!!!

  • Ryan K.

Nacho Mama's is a great spot to eat downtown for lunch, dinner, or while bar hopping. The mango habanero pork on the Godfather burrito is my favorite. Apart from that, I'll admit that it's not much different than other burrito places.

  • Kelly C.

An amazing! Great service and food!!! If you order the nachos, try to share because they are HUGE! Fun to sit at the bar and watch the guys cook the food. Interesting decor that is fun to look at! I ordered a burrito and made it my own, shrimp, mushrooms, lettuce, sour cream, rice, and cheese. The best I have ever had! A must stop in Augusta.

  • Julie G.

trying to find a decent texmex joint in Augusta has been difficult and i still have yet to find one. the prices were pretty cheap. a meal for two people with beer and cheese dip less than $30. food comes out really quick which deserves a star. i ordered the daddy nachos and it tasted mehh. the nachos were drenched with what i'm assuming was undrained black bean juice? the bf ordered a steak burrito and i was surprised at how teeny it was....it was like half of it was missing. the queso was delicious but both the bf & i thought the chips tasted like it came out of a tostitos bag. also the chips were broken up into small pieces which made me feel like i got the small scrappy pieces leftover at the bottom of a chip bag. methinks Nacho Mama's is just a-okay~

Excellent friendly service, loud fun ambiance and average Mexican food. We frequent Atlanta's Moe's and Willy's and think these restaurants are tastier and better for the value--free chips and your choice of as much salsa as you like! Here we had to pay $2.25 for chips and traditional salsa...and a bit more for the mango habanero which sounded intriguing. But still the prices were decent--especially if you order the seafood options. I liked the open kitchen concept and was impressed seeing the cooks whip out burrito after taco after quesadilla without missing a beat. The ambiance is definitely hole in the wall, loud country music and fun. There were 2 tables in the front window displayed which were cool but they were unfortunately occupied. Counter service. My Baja burrito was ok but I agree with others--the burrito was packed with lettuce and not much protein. The beans and rice were just ok. As I was starving and we were in a rush it was fine, but next time we are in Augusta we will look for other mexican places to try or other restaurants on Broad St. We LOVED Farmhaus Burger for example!

  • Prity S.

I'll admit I've been a fan of this establishment for a long time.....but I will still remain subjective in my review. Your appetizer: First the ambience is great for a work lunch with your colleagues, and doubles as a fantastic first date dinner location. Great fun art all over the establishment to take care of any lull in conversations! Now main course: the food is the kind of food that 1. Hits the spot 2. Makes you comes back for more! Looking for something to share ( because most can not finish)? the step daddy nachos! Fully loaded with delicious cheesiness and black beans, and do yourself a favor and add chicken! Running solo? The fish tacos are out of this world! You just want to stuff your face? Get ANY of the burritos! ( my mouth is watering just thinking about these!) Dessert: go ahead and get a margarita! They are heavenly here! ( if you tip well and flash a smile it might be a heavy pour!) *side note it is in the middle of downtown, so grab an early dinner, relax a minute in the chairs outside Stillwater (conveniently located next door) with a cold beer, then take a stroll around downtown!

Excellent Mexican food if you're in Augusta. Great atmosphere. If you go, I would recommend the mahi mahi burrito. The rice and beans are meh, but the main dishes are awesome. I've never gone there and got something I didn't like. Great Mexican food at a good price.

  • Amy M.

First time I went I wasn't impressed. Not disappointed - just not impressed. Seemed like basic, cheap, tacos. But I went again, and tried something different, and was amazed. Then I went again, and again, and again, and was very happy each time!(Group of friends went weekly during the summer months) I can be a picky eater and I know that, so when I first went I picked something I thought was "safe", and it was exactly as I expected. Hey, that's what a "safe" dish is for! When I branched out to try things I was unsure of, I was very happy! I've now tried a lot of their menu and can confirm it's delicious. Great atmosphere, and I love that it's a local place. For the other reviewers who gave low scores, I can agree with some points, like maybe it isn't really "authentic" and that it does need a bit of paint, but hey, it's GA, and no one can make it like they can in Mexico. And while I think it could use an update, it's not off-putting, and I think it gives it some character. PS - if you want something quick and delicious, go for the pulled pork tacos. And use the Dichicko's sauce! Also locally made and AMAZING!

  • Paul K.

Walked in and grabbed a Baja burrito and my buddy had a Godfather burrito. While waiting for our food to come out, saw this other group with some epic looking nachos. Will definitely be getting those next time. We sat down and devoured these burritos like no one else's business. They were quite amazing. Loved the food and the decor, but there was something going on with the ventilation there. After walking in, we started coughing, and even after sitting down with our food in a different location, continued coughing. Will definitely be back up eat other things on the menu.

  • Steve A.

Flavorless faux-Mex that's really just here for drunk college students (or sober ones with not enough to spend). I had the Godfather (or something like that) burrito with beans and rice. The beans had absolutely no flavor. The rice had enough that I was able to eat them together to come up with something tasty. The burrito, also, had no flavor. The mango habanero salsa was about as spicy as licking a bell pepper, and didn't taste like mango either. Two stars because I didn't get sick, the price is reasonable, and the portions are similarly reasonable, but I can't even give it three stars because I'd rather eat at a chain than here, and that's just not good enough. Keep walking down the street, kids.

Havana burrito was really good, I could tell that the shrimp were of good quality. I liked that it came with rice and beans on the side which were also really good, and they let you sub black beans for the re-fried ones that normally come with it, which was a good choice. They also had a ~D Chicko's hot sauce which I thought made a great addition to the meal definitely worth a try. My girlfriend got the Daddy nacho's which were also good, they definitely don't hold back on the portion size, except she said that there really was not much jalapenos, which detracted from her meal. These came with a side of guac that was really fresh. Overall chill place, you can have beers and margaritas here too if we pass through Augusta again we may have to stop by.

Looking for hipster casual dining in downtown Augusta? Look no further. Super fast line at the counter during lunch, and fast service from the kitchen. I had the Sundance Pasta with chicken ($8), which yields enough leftovers for another meal. I will be back for some nachos.

This is a great place for some cheap Mexican food in a great atmosphere in downtown Augusta. If you are in town and need something quick and inexpensive them this is the place for you. The food is good and the atmosphere is excellent, lots of cool memorabilia on the walls and shelves. Definitely worth the stop when in Augusta.

  • Dory B.

I'm from Los Angeles and so I know more about Mexican food than the entire state if Georgia put together. This place has a white person making the food but its pretty good and the braised beef was yummy and the nachos quite light and non greasy.

    (4)
  • Jillian O.

Decent tacos and nachos of you're in the area and what you're craving. The guac was delicious but the salsa was super lame and too tomatoey. All in all the food was decent but definitely not a restaurant I would purposely plan on going to.

    (3)
  • Charlie S.

Im not impressed, had lunch and my food was Luke warm, the nacho chips tasted like they came straight out of a bag.

    (1)
  • Benitez J.

Fast service, which is a plus. However, the burrito, beans and rice all seemed to be bland. I ordered the Copan burrito and it would have been great had there been some type of flavor to it. My wife ordered the Bomb burrito but it was bland and lacking that kick since it is suppose to contain jalapeños and mango habanero salsa. I would recommend that they take a little bit more time out to better season or marinade the food. It's really unlike me to say something about a restaurant because I like flavorful food, but hate bland food.

    (3)
  • Brooke R.

Below average Mexican food.... No better than moe's. Not enough chips and food was bland. Burritos were filled with too much lettuce not enough meat and could not cut it or basic pick it up because it had sauce and sour cream on top. Go to Pablano's or Mi Rancho.

One of my favorite places to go in Augusta. Has a good vibe and different type of atmosphere for a Mexican Restaurant. Good food, polite staff, will definitely recommend.

  • Derron N.

Great place for a quick snack. 2 chicken tacos and your hunger is conquered. I also recommend the chicken quesadilla. It's amazing how much better food tastes when they use real fresh ingredients. I can never eat Taco Bell again

  • Bill T.

We thought the name was interesting enough to try, so we did. We were not disappointed! I ordered pulled pork tacos, and was quite happy! My daughter and her friend each ordered Step Daddy nachos. They should have split an order, because they were huge! The flavor was great, the portion size was great, the price was great. The overall vibe is very relaxed, and very eclectic. It is a nice place to soak up local culture, as we saw all shapes/sizes/types/kinds of people in our visit. It is on Broad Street, in the heart of downtown, which puts you a short walk from a number of tourist/cultural sites.

  • Nathan B.

We tried Nacho Mama's twice. Once on a Sunday and once on a First Friday night. Both times my wife and I ordered the Step-Daddy and they came out promptly and well-prepared. The staff was very friendly. The second time we also ordered a God Father and it was delicious. Oh, and we were strolling by another time and we stopped in for some chips. They recommended the cheese dip and now I do, too. My wife: "totes delish foods" PS- This isn't "authentic Mexican food", so if you stop in and complain that it's not like Arizona or Southern California or how some Abeula in the Mexican heartland made it for you on her qomel during your summer abroad in your fifth year of college you're probably an idiot.

  • Julie M.

Had the Backyard salad with Mahi. Couple of beers. The salad is one of the best I have had in the state of GA. People laugh and say "but it's a salad... how do you mess that up?" True... salad is pretty hard to screw up... But how many times do you remember a salad and remember it being good... I sat at the bar (I was by myself on a Sun. afternoon) and the people behind the bar were very friendly. It does look like it needs a good cleaning back behind the bar (the grill area) but I'm noticing that is common in a lot of places out here. Overall, great prices, good food, good happy hour. By Augusta standards, this place is a 4 star... I'll be back.

    (3)
  • L E.

Everyone raves about how great this place is. I don't like a Mexican place that doesn't offer ground beef. I prefer Theresa's by the movie theater. On the dinning street downtown. Street parking.

  • Janie E.

Loved it here! Didn't want to leave. Funky and fun atmosphere! ;p

  • Leola T.

Mahi mahi tacos were good, the hard shell tasted slightly stale. Portion sizes are more than generous. Although not an authentic Mexican joint, the food is pretty good. If you are looking for authentic Mexican food go somewhere else otherwise it is a nice twist of Americanized Mexican food.

    (3)
  • John M.

I was introduced to Nacho Mama's by some cowokers, and I am glad they took me there. I had the grilled mahi mahi soft taco and the chips & queso. The food was great, as were the prices. I will be back many times in the future.

  • J W R.

Lots of food, none of it spectacular. What was interesting was getting the special pulled pork burrito, filled with rice and beans and to have rice and beans on the side. Talk about a balanced meal!!! Despite the lack of imagination, the food was good, the ice tea was good, although the female cashier was sure stingy with the ice (it is Ice Tea-- meaning it should have ice.) Go here if you want to eat a lot of food.

Born and raised in Aiken and my family has been making the trip to Nacho Mama's for 13 years now. I believe what makes a restaurant exceptional is being able to choose anything on the menu and still remain satisfied. This is the case for Nacho Mama's. My only complaint over these many years is that the food sometimes comes out only slightly warm despite the service being speedy even on the most crowded nights. Even without the temperature this food still comes in with the slam dunk baby.

    (5)
  • Jen F.

Cruddy mexican food. I came with a couple of coworkers and everyone agreed the place was a 2. The pico tomatoes were barely cut. As someone who makes homemade pico it is obvious these guys cut corners on this one. It really does make a difference in terms of flavor. Salad was blah. The burritos were blah. Wouldn't come back.

  • Ashley W.

It took me a while to figure out what I really liked at this place (pulled pork burrito) but once I did my opinion of them improved dramatically. The beans are a little runny, and the quesadillas are too greasy, but I am a picky eater so I will not knock them on this account. They may sprinkle some sort of addictive drug in certain foods (pulled pork burrito) because every time I eat it I want it for DAYS afterwards. They can get slammed during lunch, so service can be 3 minutes or infinitely long. If you are hungry and the line is out the door, just keep walking. Oh, I took away one star because they charge extra for chips. What mexican restaurant charges extra for chips!

My brother (47, native Georgian) & I (29, Floridian/New Yorker) were walking around downtown Augusta looking for a cool lunch spot...we passed a couple other places that seemed like they might be good candidates, but they didn't inspire confidence. We took a look in the front door of this Nacho Mama's and Gregg said: "this is the place!" I really liked the look of it upon entering, wish I had my camera to get a better photo. Ordering is easy enough at the bar as soon as you walk in. Give them your name and in about 10 mins they have your orders prepared. (See the photos for the plate I ordered)...they do have a waitress that will come around or someone to clean up...but everything is pretty much do it yourself. Very tasty and filling with extra beans & rice on the side. Gregg had a burrito too (also good). We were watching all of the other dishes that were coming out, everything looked good. For the price ($6-10 a plate), the area & quality/atmosphere we'd say this place gets 5 stars. They had a drink fountain and juices or beers in a freezer. So you're drinks are pretty much covered. There are tables as you walk in & high tops along the side, booths in the back. In addition, they have a loft area with a pool table and additional seating up the stairs in the back. Bathrooms: We didn't check the ladies room, but the mens was relatively clean & stocked, they also had hot water (which is good in winter time). I imagined this place could be in a movie...I especially liked the skylight effect during that part of the day.

I love Nacho Mama's. All their food is really fresh and seasoned well. On my most recent trip there I particularly enjoyed the beef and potato taco and the chicken and spinach taco. These aren't traditional of course, but I found them very tasty!

  • Bobbin W.

I felt paralyzed in Nacho Mama's because of the overwhelming options. Visions of burritos, quesadillas, tacos and 45s swam in my head, probably because I was so hungover yet spending the afternoon with my family. After nearly having an anxiety attack over having to make a choice, I decided on the red chili shrimp and potato quesadilla. Walking down the narrow hallway to the soda machine and then to the back table area again induced panic, because of the crowds, morning-after intoxication or both. Either way, the quesadilla was super tasty, absorbed my headache and allowed me to clearly process my thoughts. Plus, a bad-ass Bob Dylan painting hangs on the front wall; a Howard Finster angel blasts a trumpet above one booth; and a Beatles cut-out hangs high o'er all patrons. "Happiness is a warm quesadilla," Paul told me.

Fantastic 'Step Daddy' nachos, mahi mahi quesadillas & margaritas! Decided to try the veggie route and sampled the spinach and black beans + roasted potato hard shell tacos- absolutely delicious!

Casual, fun, and tasty. Just know what you want before you get to the cashier. No soup for you!

This restaurant has been a standard in downtown Augusta for many years. It offers freshly prepared pseudo-Mexican fast food assembled in short order fashion. The proportions are generous and are prepared quickly. It is a very casual dining experience and one of my favorite stops for lunch on a weekday. It is a definite try if you are downtown looking for good, quick food.

This seems like a cool place from the outside and the concept is neat. Walking in you see dirty fans with inches of dust visible even with them on. Yuck, I don't want dust flying onto my food. I didn't even want to really look behind the counter after that to see if their cooking was up to standards. The place is to large for the quality and service you receive. I don't think they have enough people working here to keep it clean. My friend found a hair in her beans and a rock in her rice. Yikes! The "no server" concept I will go somewhere else and spend my money. The soda machine in a horrible place. The water spout shoots out lemonade with it and they will even tell you that. Hello! Fix it if it's a problem. For the money you spend on this food while it looks good it doesn't stand up to a fast food restaurant in taste. I'd rather go to Taco Bell and spend much less. The bathrooms have shower curtains for stalls!? Even if you "close" them you can still see in. I didn't feel comfortable with going to the bathroom even though there was an option of locking the bathroom. Really!? I'm going to hog two toilets and the sinks for just my comfort this is ridiculous. Overall will never go back, can't believe this had such good reviews.

I'm reading great reviews about this place and don't get it. Might be that i'm biased towards Mexican food in Augusta being that I'm from Cali. The portions were large but the food was tasteless to me. Add more spark to the food and this place can easily be a 4-5 star grub factory, Until then, find a Moe's instead. Pros *Large Portions *Cool establishment Cons *Tasteless food *Long wait (one cashier)

    (2)
  • Ava A.

Huge portions. It was alright but nothing to write home about.

    (3)
  • Dale B.

Awesome atmosphere. It really is "nacho" typical Mexican restaurant. It's got more of a hipster vibe. The burritos are excellent, being good quality and inexpensive. The margaritas are great too. The nachos are so-so. The guacamole has a very wholesome flavor. A definite must stop shop in the downtown area.

  • Virgil H.

This is the kind of place you really want to love, but I just can't. Great location in downtown Augusta, cool interior and a couple of tables on the sidewalk on Broad, that is nice. Staff are very indifferent at best, not rude, but not friendly. But, what is really strange is the food. The menu looks like Mexican, but even if the appearance is Mexican, it doesn't taste like it. Most of the Mexican restaurants in town are better. If this place could focus and decide what kind of food it serves, it could be great.

    (2)
  • Herman W.

Tasty food! Nacho mamas salad had a great salsa! Very fresh. The bomb burrito is a chicken burrito that was spruced perfectly with jalapeño. The godfather is a pork burrito, also perfectly spices, but with a mango habanero salsa. Counter service for lunch. Asked questions, friendly answers provided! Worth the ride off the expressway to get away from chain row! Mexican food? Who cares! Tasty, affordable? YES!

One of my favorite palces down town, the only draw back - there is always a line for food... the solution - sit at the bar, or sit at a table in the front and people watch.

  • Ananda Z.

I'm all about the vibe. This place is local and downtown, and full of young-ish people having fun. They obviously accommodate big groups and clubs, which is super-kind of them and totally responsible for my frequent patronage. The food is good and fun & easy to partake of. And it only took me a month to start making jokes about how I wasn't going to yo' mamas place. Yeah... a little slow on that one.

GREAT food... even better prices for what you get! 3 words.... MAHI MAHI BURRITO!!! One of the best and unique burritos I've ever eaten. Give this place a shot!

  • Christopher D.

This place is heavenly , one of my favorite places to eat downtown. The food is texmex as long as you aren't from San Antonio or the likes . It is a great place to eat during the day or for early pre-bar food, though the area does get a little dicey later at night. Great food overall.

  • Ashley P.

Hmmm... It's fun, I like the atmosphere, it's downtown, they serve margaritas. Yet I never seem to want to go here. And it's pretty much because the food's kind of disappointing. You'd think pulled pork and mango habanero salsa would be totally delicious. Eh. Same for most other things I've had there. Don't get me wrong-- nothing sucks. I've just never found it to be as good as it sounds. Which makes me sad. I will say that I like the spinach quesadilla though. I do occasionally go back for that. As far as margaritas, decent, cheapish, served in a pint glass. Bottom line: You can find better and cheaper at most Mexican places in town, but you'd be missing out on the pot head hippie vibe! (which is totally the fun part, no?) On a side note, this place kind of reminds me of El Myr in little five. Well, the Augusta version anyhow...

It may not be the most incredibly authentic Mexican food around (not that there is any in Augusta anyway) but it's an all around great place to eat. The food is always good, the staff is cool, the beer is cold, and you can't beat the price for the amount of food you get. *Plus you can carve stuff into the tables on the upper level. Bonus.

Alright, I'm from Texas and I'm use to an abundance of Mexican food. Sadly, there seems to be quite the lack thereof here in Augusta. My boyfriend and I came to Nacho Mama's after reading the reviews here. I ordered two beef crispy tacos with chips and queso. We walked in to a MASSIVE line, almost out the door. Ordered our food and sat down. They don't have waiters, so they just call your name when your food is ready. I received my tacos and wow were they HUGE. I took a bite and tasted nothing. Literally, nothing. The meat had NO flavor or seasoning whatsoever. Not even salsa, hot sauce...NOTHING. I was super disappointed. The queso, however, was pretty good. Next time I think I'll try the quesadillas or just go to Taco Bell.

Cool atmosphere and the best burritos I've ever had (try The Bomb -- it's awesome and it will feed you and your date). The only downside is that chips and salsa are not free.

I went to this spot with a few girlfriends after work one day. Its a nice spot for gathering and chit chatting but the food could be better. This place is like a bar/ roadside gas station attraction/ mom and pop diner. I order the salad, which there is only one salad dressing to choose from which is a vingarette, and I also order the loaded nachos. When they say loaded they mean it. There was so much on the nachos that after a while all the nachos were soggy and stuck together. They prices are reasonable but the food could be so much better

Walked in thinking a server would come to our table to take our order, after a few minutes left... Not wasting my time when there's better places right down the block.

Surely Broad Street deserves better Mexican food than what this slop house serves up. It doesn't have to taste like the real deal; it just needs to taste like something--as long as it doesn't taste like leftovers from some cafeteria's steam table (surely even S&S could manage to make better food than this). I have indulged my native Augustan friends who persist in their misguided loyalty to this place in the past, but after tonight, never again. As I type this I am eating chocolate mints in an effort to subdue the waves of nausea that engulf me every time I think of the vile chicken burrito I ate there several hours ago.

As a recent Texas transplant to Augusta I was deeply concerned about finding a decent burrito/tex mex joint. This place is pretty darn good. Their burritos were well put together with well thought out ingredients and they have margaritas. I'll be eating here again. My only advice to them would be to make real rocks 'ritas and leave the bottled high fructose corn syrup out of it and also to offer a build your own burrito/taco option.

Moes? We don't need no stinkin' Moes! I strolled in for the first time yesterday for a little late lunch. I got the Copan burrito to go. At first, I was a tad sticker-shocked when a simple burrito con drink to-go rang up to be $8. Skeptical of how heavy my to-go package was, I was more than delighted to find that it was nicely accompanied by a big helping of rice and beans. Ahhh...now I get it. The burrito was, no lie, one the best I've ever had: a perfect ratio of chicken, rice, cheese and beans wrapped tightly in a flour tortilla with little room to spare. The fact that it all didn't fall apart before I got the other end wasn't even the best part! The spicy flavor to the chicken was incredible. Not a big fan of spice to begin with, I always allow for a cautious first-bite. I was only later reminded of the chicken's kick when it reappeared in the back of my mouth a few bites later. Not too overbearing...but just a nice reminder. Yum! Good looking menu. Plenty of seating. My only guess would be that they get busy during the prime lunch hour.

One of my favorite restaurants in Augusta. The best burritos and nachos around. Get the top-shelf margarita. Cool, laid-back, casual atmosphere with good music.

Fun fresh menu that covers your basic mexican food needs and goes that extra step to mix it up a with cuban, baja, and veggie edge. The burritos are smaller than they sound. Got the baja burrito; it was good but not very memorable. Also had the simple nachos with chicken. Decent portion but uninteresting and kinda sloppily served. The salsa was chunks of tomato and some sauce with no onions or cilantro. Overall, decent gringo mexican food.

I can't get enough of their Step Daddy Nachos. I love the laid-back atmosphere and the artwork. They beat the hell out of Taco Bell any time!

A great lunch spot! The nachos and quesadillas we had were delicious. As a bonus the Margarita was strong too! It's a great spot to get lunch!

A friend of mine encouraged me to try this place. I don't go downtown to eat very often. This place has a great atmosphere and a good flavor. I got 2 tacos and was halfway through the 2nd one before I realized that the beef is actually pulled rather than ground beef. If you're looking for something different, you should try it out.

Came here w/ a friend. Enjoyed the atmosphere and different flare for Mexican food. I actually expected something way different from reading the reviews, but I'm glad we checked it out.

Nacho Mamas is the worst excuse for Mexican food I have ever tasted. There was no seasoning in the food. The refried bean taco had beans with no seasoning, shredded iceberg lettuce, pico de gallo consisting of chopped tomatoes, chopped onion, and scant parsley, and chopped onion. My husband's nachos had canned, diced tomatoes on them. Again, no seasoning. To be fair, the two-tablespoon serving of guacamole was fresh and delicious. Don't bother stopping here. Just keep driving to Chili's or anywhere there is air conditioning because that's all the satisfaction you'll get here.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
