This place makes you want to never eat anywhere else ever again! I had the lamb chops and they were cooked to perfection and the dish had just the right portion to make me full as well. Yes it is a bit pricy, but it is worth your money. The pomme frites I believe that's the name, are to die for! Our waiter was extremely nice and had great service.

I love this place. The best word to describe it is " Consistent". The staff members are always pleasant. I have never had a bad experience. They always do their best to accommodate their guest, the food is great and the pimento cheese is to die for!!!!!!!

We stopped in to have brunch and meet some local Yelpers. Mimosas were a very nice start. We had Linguini Carbonara. We split the plate and the server was most accommodating by splitting the plate for us. Also, I asked about cold coffee when I came in, she let me know they don't serve cold coffee, however, she certainly surprised me by returning with a cold coffee she will sometimes make for herself. I must say, it was certainly a most delightful surprise and quite tasty!! Most enjoyable was getting opportunity to meet Natasha and Ron, fellow Yelpers.

I stopped by 5 O'Clock Bistro for brunch with my wife and some familiar faces since the prices were much better than for dinner. I don't stop by King's Way often, and mostly I find myself driving through it on the way to downtown Augusta. The exterior is unsuspecting but inside, the very roomy restaurant looks fabulous. I was surprised how nice the staff was and pleased to find a place that could handle a large group since most places downtown can't. We started with Pimento cheese ($5) served with spiced crackers that gave some added flavor. The cheese was creamy and there was enough for 2-3 people unless you're a greedy eater. I ordered the Tournedos & Eggs ($10) which was beef tenderloin tips in Dijon whiskey sauce and topped with a fried egg. When you mix the egg yolk and the Dijon sauce there is a fantastic flavor. My wife ordered the Shrimp N' Grits Bowl ($7) served with dill Cajun cream sauce and Andouille sausage. The stone grits were creamy and the sausage added some great texture. 5 O'Clock Bistro is a great place to have a casual meal on the fancier side and not break the bank while enjoying some delicious food.

Create place to take colleagues after work for a nice happy hour, but even better place for an evening of fine dining. It is quite evident that the owners/management takes pride in this establishment. Highly recommended

I love this place. First off, the costumer service is phenomenal. I've visited on several occasions and they've always been consistent whether I was seated or waited at the bar. The venue is nice and dim. Honestly, it has a romantic type vibe, but it is recommended for dates and meetings because the atmosphere is calm and not noisy. However, they have LIVE music on a day of the week. I'm not sure the weekday, but it's usually Jazz so nothing that would bother your experience. On my most recent visit, I enjoyed the Pimento Cheese as an appetizer. I enjoyed it. Even my friend who initially didn't want to try it, liked it. It's a must, so check it out. For my main course I had the Scallops and potatoes. I thought it was amazing. The scallops were perfect. The Chef got it right. The portion is good too, especially if you partake in any of the starters. They restaurant has outdoor seating. The parking can be difficult, but it depends on the crowd. Overall, great spot.

This place made my anniversary dinner very special. A very relaxed environment with excellent food and service. We picked it based on other yelp reviews and they are accurate. We went on a Sunday and were treated to the bluegrass inspired trio who played beatles, folk, moody blues, and bluegrass.

Had a great time! Went there for our anniversary dinner which also happens to be New Year's Eve. Reservations were easy and they seated us right away. Atmosphere was intimate and classy. Had live music which made the night perfect! Food was great and service was good!

What a wonderful Easter dinner with my new bride. We started off with European olives, bacon wrapped scallops, Green Jacket salad and a weary good bottle of Napa Valley Merlot. Our main course of filet mignon and lobster was cooked to perfection. We ended our dinner with a bourbon creme brûlée which topped anything we had in Paris a few yeas ago. Our waiter, Andrew, gave us excellent attention (we expected nothing less). One of the owners, Barbara, made a special effort to speak to every table (Great Southern Hospitality). If you are in town for the Masters, be sure to make reservations. You will not regret it. My first visit.. I'll be back again.

Good place to bring friends. Open room atmosphere. The menu is rotating and they have a good blend of meats and fish. Appetizer: seafood bruchetta is fantastic. Wonderful and I would recommend this to everyone coming. Apple salad: HANDs DOWN one of the best salads i have ever had IN MY life. great pungent cheese mixed with the gentle sweetness of the apple. Loved it. Only salad i have ever LOVED. Muscles appetizer is not as fragrant as I'd like. The chorizo in there is good though Highly recommend for dinner! Specials are always great. Fried chicken stuffed. Pretty good meal, solid for 17$. Pretty reliable. Lamb: very rich and delicious. nice glaze I don't recommend Fish here. It's not the best place in augusta for that kind of thing. Go to Sheehans Bouilbase: Oh Man. i know i can't spell that. but this is great. Seafood mixed with rice and stewed. Love it. Good choice of wines. Nice place. I regularly rotate this place into my dining events.

Best in augusta. Great food, great service and good drinks. The owners come over regularly to discuss our experience. The menu is always changing. After we move I will definitely miss coming here

Although I haven't eaten a full dinner here, I absolutely adore this little restaurant. When you walk in, it's like you're not even in Augusta-- the space holds a gorgeous, lush and intimate interior. So perfect for a drink with friends or special date night. Plus, it doesn't hurt that it's walking distance from my parent's home! When I was last there meeting a friend, we sat at the bar and ordered wine and the cheese plate. So delicious. I got a glimpse at the menu and it is definitely in the upper tier-- a small, but brilliant selection of entrees. The bartender was friendly and knowledgeable. And, as a certified bathroom snob, this was one of the best I've ever seen. As we were leaving, the owner graciously thanked us and invited us to come back soon. I will absolutely back-- every single time I come back home. It's places like this that make me think that Augusta has a real shot at becoming a city to enjoy!

Went here for Sunday brunch. Limited lunch menu, but everything we had was good from the hamburger, ham & cheese sandwich, to the steak tips w/eggs. The French bread looked awesome at the next table. The pecan bread pudding dessert is to die for, different than the raisin bread pudding from French Market grille but as good or better. We will return to try diner menu & update our review.

Awesome time with the Augusta brunch bunch! The ambience was very inviting and laid back. I ordered the shrimp and grits as I always do for brunch. The flavor of the entree was very great. The dish had jumbo shrimp and very tasteful. We ordered a few mimosas but they couldn't be ordered until 12:30. Our server was very nice and handled us greatly. Not a very large place but has great space to offer if you would like to bring a group. Overall great experience and I will be back.

Another TOTAL win for Augusta. Their service is pronominal, the food is top notch and prepared by a true chef. A local woman owns the place and has a back story along the lines of teaching culinary students and decided to open a restaurant. Whatever the story, THANK YOU! Fantastic cheese selection, great beer selection, drinks were great. Now to the food. Me: surf and turf... Delicious, perfectly cooked. Him: of course the scallops. Perfect! The is place #2 on favorites for Augusta. Great place that ranks up with the best I've had.

Really ****1/2 rating. Great little brunch place on Sunday. Small menu but everything was good and reasonably priced. It was way cheaper here than I expected. The drink prices were a little higher though. I got club sandwich with pomme frittes. Ausgescheisnet :) The brunch burger was great and so were beef tips with eggs. My only issue is waited long time to order. We had group of seven and there was a several minute wait in between orders coming out. They weren't that busy so just create a little awkwardness for folks who got food first. Overall it was very enjoyable and I will be back :)

Very tasty. Not terribly over priced. Not the atmosphere I expected on Sunday morning. Dubstep at 11am on the Lords day? come on guys...

Ate there for lunch. It was okay. A little expensive. I ordered the soup and sandwich. The soup was delicious. Potato soup with truffle oil. The sandwich no so much. It was a chicken salad sandwich. They ran out of croissant. So gave me texas toast. Not a fun. Id go back if i was in the area. But not go out of my way to eat there.

Enjoyed ladies night out at 5 o'clock Bistro last night. Wonderful atmosphere, food and service. I had a Bellini to drink, and stuffed chicken as my entree. Our table shared appetizers; calamari and seafood bruschetta. They were both delicious. A must try restaurant in Augusta, Ga.!

Good food at a good price with really top notch service. I've been here a couple of times and have never been disappointed. The menu is a bit seafood heavy but it's quite good. Lunch prices are absolutely phenomenal for the quality of the food. Dinner is a bit more but well worth every penny. two thumbs up from me!

Great service, and food. The prices are very reasonable for lunch. Filet burger was probably the best burger I've ever tasted.

Great atmosphere! This is a really neat place and pretty good service too. My only wish is that the menu has fewer seafood options (probably 90% seafood on the menu). Would love more beef and poultry options.

Very good ambiance. Started off with one of the special small plates, roasted oysters. They came out in a very rustic fashion. Shell on, had to ask for oyster knife to open. Despite all the hassle, loved the "rusticness" and they were delicious, juice and all! Entree included special of day; halibut with lobster tail, 5 stars for the freshness. My friend had the seafood Bouillabaisse that came with a home made bread to dip, yum.

While staying overnight in Augusta, our bed and breakfast recommended having dinner at 5 O'Clock Bistro because it was one of the nicer restaurants in town and it was actually open on a Sunday night (apparently people in Augusta don't leave the house on Sundays & Mondays because most businesses are closed!). I found the restaurant decor to be a cute modern take on a French bistro. The large bar is a huge center focal point in the middle of the restaurant and kind of beckons you to come on in! Our waiter was really fantastic- he was mid twenties and really understood customer service! I found the wine selection to be slim, but our waiter recommended a delicious pinot gris which I had never tried before and really enjoyed it. We ordered a delicious tapas sized scallop appetizer which was really great. For dinner, my husband ordered duck which he liked, however, he didn't like the sides which were VERY smokey flavored cut potatoes and spinach. I ordered the night special of two lobster tails. The lobster meat was delicious but, the way they attempted to cut the tail to make it easier to get the meat out actually made it really hard and I struggled before I resorted to even using my hands (sorry, not sorry). Our waiter noticed my struggling and I explained they cut they only half cut the lobster and in the wrong direction making it hard with the utensils I was given to easily remove. However, I was able to finally get everything out and enjoyed the hell out of two very tasty and petite lobster tails. Our dessert was an amazing strawberry mousse that we kinda fell in deep, mad, passionate love with and was the perfect ending to our meal. On several occasions the sweet manager/owner came to our table and was so bubbly and upbeat! We really felt welcome and appreciated for our patronage at this local eatery. I would absolutely recommend 5 O'Clock Bistro!

This is one of the best high end restaurant in Augusta. The service is very professional (and not over the top friendly). The servers know about the food and drinks they serve. They can explain where the ingredients come from. The food is delicious. Simple. Fresh. Delicious. It's an expensive place, but well worth the price. If I made more money, I'd go there more often. So far, it's been my best culinary experience in this city.

So much potential. Such a wonderful atmosphere. Such great greeters and and a friendly and interesting sommeleir. A owner who stopped by to welcome us and tell us about the menu. A menu of creative and interesting dishes. People laughing over glasses of wine... And one snooty waiter who ruined it all. Telling us not to talk to the sommeleir, because he could make his own recommendation, then proceeding to not ask any questions about my preferences before jumping to a recommendation (surprise, surprise the most expensive!!!), standing at our table to ask if we were ready, then looking back at his last table for a full 30 seconds before deigning to make eye contact with us. When I ordered an appetizer for a meal (I wasn't that hungry), he said, "Are you sure?" and then scoffed and shook his head. !!! We debated staying to see if the food was as awesome as its potential... plus the owner was so nice. But I have a new theory on life... I'm not wasting it sitting through pretentious bullshit. So we walked out. and canceled our orders as we were leaving. And promptly went down the street to CRUMS. Which was packed. But we sat at the bar, bantered with the bartender, drank wine, ate delicious food, and had a fabulous time. So sad, so pretentious 5 O'clock bistro.

My husband and I had dinner on Saturday night here. The waiter was so friendly and so informative on the menu, it made you want to try so much! The owner and his wife both came by to welcome us. The food and the atmosphere are so unique. This is not a place that you will find down the street, which makes me like it even more!

I'll keep this short... The waitress was slow and unattentive. The food was extremely under portioned for what was supposed to be a "large plate." The appetizers were very good, but expensive. Service - 2 Food - 3 Atmosphere - 4 Price - For what it claims to be it's fair. For what you actually get it's overpriced.

absolutely wonderful meal and terrific service. would definitely go back. this was our first visit to 5 o'clock bistro (we were in town visiting from washington, dc and it was our anniversary) and we were not disappointed. i had the halibut special and my husband had the steak special. both were cooked perfectly. desserts also were very good and sophie, our server, was the best. we wholeheartedly recommend 5 o'clock bistro.

This place deserves 3.5 solid stars. The ambiance is great. Very welcoming, open set-up. Central large bar, open kitchen, plenty of seating, busy. Went here on a Saturday night and the place was packed. It's really nice to see more fine-dining, non-chain options in Augusta. I did get the sense that the waiter was really pushing for the most expensive items on the menu. I suppose I can't blame him, but the service staff should really be careful when walking the line between suggesting and insisting. Tried the French 75 cocktail and the Black Manhattan. The black manhattan was STRONG. The French 75 was fine. Seafood bruschetta appetizer with lobster claw was delicious. Although it was essentially bread buried in a seafood fondue. Heavy dish, flavorful, good portion. Plenty of seafood. Mains: Duck and the sea bass fish special. My duck was perfectly medium rare, but the kitchen didn't sear the fat/skin to a good crisp. The butter poached parsnips were good, and the portabella/cheese bread pudding was wonderful. Very rich and dense. The fish, according to my dining buddy, was cooked well with a somewhat bland creamy sauce. No room for dessert. I'd return for drinks/apps at the bar. Reasonable pricing though.

I stopped by here for the first game of FIFA. They had a setup in the back for people to come and watch the Brazil and Croatia game. First entering the restaurant I felt a bit under dressed as I came in my work clothes. The inside is very nice and well done. The kitchen is open so you can actually see the people prepare your food. The regular menu looked very good but we stuck to the bar menu as we were watching the match. We got the egg rolls, nacho frites, and the thai wings. (the exact names escape me). The nacho frites were not that good mainly because the fries were under cooked. The egg roll had a thai basil sauce drizzled on the plate with a spicy mustard dipping sauce. I thought it was great. I just wish the thai basil sauce was in a bowl so I could have had more of it. The wings were perfect. They were served with an in house made garlic dressing. They were perfectly crispy nice sweet thai flavors up front with a taste of fish sauce at the finish. The bar menu runs 6 to 8 dollars a plate in general and look at spending around $25 a plate for entrees. They lose a star because of the undercooked fries but it wont keep me from coming back with my date to enjoy a nice evening

The service is always nice and professional. The waiters/waitresses are knowledgeable about the menu and offer good advice on the dishes. Setting is romantic and elegant. Nice place to take a date. The surf and turf is my favorite dish.

Has some potential and happy Augusta is getting more choices. Food was not bad but service tonight was disappointing. Fries slightly over cooked ... For a $400 bill I was disappointed to get truffle oil rather than truffle sprinkle. Mussels were great but lobster brushetta was a little better than deli quality. Net net good but pretends to be more than it is and misses the mark...not worth the money.

We came here for an engagement dinner following our Ironman 70.3 (September 30) event earlier that day. We had an amazing dinner and had amazing service too. We met the owners and they bought us a complimentary bottle of Champagne for our engagement dinner. They were just lovely hosts and so passionate about their Authentic French Cuisine. We both thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere, music, and meal. We will be going back to this amazing restaurant every time we are in the Augusta area.

First the short summary; In my opinion this is the best fine dining in the Augusta proper area that I have found so far. It narrowly edges out Frog Hollow for the top spot due to having better food. The food was fantastic, delicious, and not a run of the mill menu. The ambience was nice, even if it was lacking in a unique quality. The service was fine and the cost was what I would expect for a restaurant of this quality (about $20-30 average per entree plate) Now for a more in depth review on each area. First the food. Personally I think the food is the most important and influential part on my opinion of a restaurant and 5 O'Clock Bistro did not disappoint. On the waiters recommendation we ordered the Seafood Bruschetta. Fantastic. This was a dish in a delicious sauce covered in cheese with a variety of seafood. One of those foods you know is probably not healthy at all but it's just so good. I ordered the fish special which was also great. I wish I remembered more details from my main course but we went a couple of weeks ago and I just got around to this review. I do remember that there were numerous items on the menu that greatly interested me and the decision for my main course was difficult with so many appetizing options. That alone will ensure that I return. Food top notch and best I've had in Augusta for the fine dining category. However, the restaurant itself was nothing to write home about. It was nice with indoor/outdoor seating and a bar and about moderate volume level depending on the crowd. However it was nothing unique at all. Run of the mill, standard decorations. The design itself is never a huge deal to me, however, when you find those unique places that make an impression, it really adds to the overall experience. Sadly 5 O'Clock bistro missed in that category but still it was comfortable and nice. The last major category I look at with a restaurant is the service and cost. I'm honestly surprised at some of the other reviews with people stating the bad service. Our service was great. The individual made some good food recommendations and was attentive without being overbearing. I honestly don't pay much attention to the service but instead to the people I'm dining with and the food I'm eating. So if I don't remember any specific issues with the waiter, than the service is good in my book. I will always give a place a second go with bad service as I believe that to be the most highly variable factor in a restaurant. Finally the cost is what I would expect. Probably one of the most expensive places in Augusta proper but was worth it. I believe between my Wife and I was a $100 tab which included shared appetizer, entrees, dessert, and at least a drink a piece. To those that read this far, thanks for reading the review and hopefully it will give you good idea of what to expect with 5 O'Clock Bistro. I definitely recommend giving it a shot.

The cost is a little more than I tend to spend for a meal but the two times I've been here I was not disappointed. I had the surf and turf. HUGE shrimp that are delicious and a tasty filet. Yum. I think it's worthwhile. Great atmosphere as well. A great place for a date.
