High Cholesterol at Zaxby's

If you are supposed to restrict your calorie count, then try any of the zalads and club it up with a sandwich to fill your stomach with delicious food. To curb the cravings for deep fried food, opt for a small portion (5) of boneless wings and chicken fingerz.

Instead of ordering fried chicken wing servings, you can always request for a grilled sandwich with lettuce, onion, and tomatoes to counter high cholesterol. A sandwich calorie count can range between 900 to 1600 calorie which can be reduced by asking for healthier options.

Foods to Avoid at Zaxby's for High Cholesterol

Salads are often great and considered healthy. However, if you have high cholesterol, then you must be careful while ordering salads or shall we say Zalads at Zaxby's. Fried Cobb salad contains high-fat content which can spike your LDL cholesterol levels. Most food items on Zaxby's menu are high in fat content if you increase the quantity. Instead of opting for 10 or 20 chicken wings from the menu, opt for 5 traditional chicken wings to control your cholesterol balance.

I don't typically write reviews for fast food joints, largely because I rarely patronize them. However, I recently made an exception for this Zaxby's, which I consider to be a bellweather for the changing face of the Ponce corridor. The gangs of tranny prostitutes, street pharmacists, and other Ponce urchins are slowly diminishing in number, while new businesses continue to replace previously abandoned and dilapidated storefronts. That being said, Zaxby's may not be the epitome of culinary achievement - but it's better than a crack den, and thus, will continue to receive my business whenever I have a hankering for some inexpensive and quick fried goodness. Food: Zaxby's is a franchised fast food chain that operates primarily in the Southeastern United States. The first restaurant hatched in Georgia nearly 25 years ago, and the place has been serving up chicken-based dishes in the form of entrees, "zalads", and "zappetizers" ever since - all appropriately doused with "Zax sauce". During my inaugural visit, I opted for the Zaxby's Club, which consisted of chicken fingers served between two slices of Texas toast with a side of fries. My arteries were crying for hours afterward, but at the time, the sandwich hit the spot - for the price, I have absolutely no complaints. Service: The service here wasn't necessarily more attentive that what it should be - but compared to the standard for most fast food restaurants, the caliber of service here is certainly ahead of the pack. The staff even walk around the dining room asking how you liked the food and inquiring about whether you'd like a drink refill. Atmosphere: Far different than what I had expected. The interior of this place was actually quite clean and very well kept. The clientele was also lightyears away from the standard Ponce demographic - the place was filed with a bunch of young, white co-eds and even a few families with children. The drive through was equally as packed - to the point where traffic along Ponce was disrupted from people trying to make a left into the place. Cost: Inexpensive. For the most part, you can get out of here with a meal for two for less than $15. Appetizers generally run in the $2-$4 range, while entrees and combo meals, which include a side of fries, are around $5-$7. Other: Zaxby's is located on Ponce just past Parkway Dr. in a lot with a long affinity for chicken joints - it was previously a Church's Chicken and a KFC before that. Dining room hours are 10:30AM-10PM daily - however, the drive thru is open until 1AM Monday-Thursday, 3AM Friday-Saturday, and 12AM on Sunday.

You haven't experienced a truly slow Zaxbys until you've been to this one.

Zaxby's is amazing!!! It's absolutely one of my favorite chain restaurants in existence. Unlike another Zaxby's that I critiqued, I found that the service at this location was at par. I would order my food and be amazed as to how fast and efficiently everyone got my food out. It's not that far from Georgia Tech and Georgia State, therefore it's great for those who live in downtown Atlanta (me) and crave Zaxby's. Thank you, guys!

I hate writing bad reviews for anyone especially a fast food restaurant but honestly I will NEVER go back to this zaxbys location. The only thing I had eaten yesterday afternoon was a kicken chicken sandwich and 2 hours later I was feeling nauseous. That night I started throwing up at around 10 and continuously did that until 7 am. I am almost positive I got food poisoning from here and they're lucky I'm not suing them. Like I said, I will never go back.

This new location of Zaxby's is pandemonium, slammed morning, noon and night. Cars circle the building in an endless drive through line, even at 10pm. There are so many Georgia Tech students inside it looks like a satellite campus. The small footprint of the lot is one reason it feels like barely controlled chaos. Because of the huge crowds, the interior is loud. Also, counter help screams out orders at the top of their lungs, choosing to ignore a more efficient intercom. Tables turn frequently, though, and there was never an issue finding a place to sit. Zaxby's has always used a quality, meaty tender. We both ordered the chicken tender plate, five fried chicken tenders, crinkle cut fries (which were all broken apart, a sign of being manhandled), coleslaw and a slice of grilled Texas toast. It was filling, but the batter used on the chicken is aggressively and grossly salty. I experienced the same thing at a Zaxby's in Auburn, AL last week so I think it's a chain thing. There are few healthy options on the menu, with one salad and one meal available with grilled chicken. Otherwise everything is fried. Originally a KFC, then a short lived Church's Chicken, the lot was finally leveled and a new Zaxby's was constructed. Time will tell if this iteration of chicken will make a go of it, but so far it looks promising.

I typically would not review a fast food restaurant, but I think it would be useful to the owner of this franchised location. {if it is franchised}. Waiting 25 minutes for a combo meal certainly was not the highlight of my evening. This Zaxby's is the "Varsity" of chicken & requires a large, organized staff to keep their customers happy. Unlike the Zaxby's of the suburbs this location is much smaller & always buzzing with people. On this occasion someone even stole my seat when I went to get my meal 30 minutes after ordering it. Food is consistently good. It is my hopes this location stays fresh & clean. Speed it up Zaxby's!

Well, that didn't take long. Remember all the excitement when this location opened in July? Smiling customers lined up out the door, thrilled that FINALLY a Zaxby's opened in Midtown! Huzzah! I was one of them! Yeah, the location is sketchy, but this is ZAXBY'S! It's all good! Well, I was there today. Party's over. Homeless dudes at the tables. One surly cashier. Kitchen staffers shouting. Disorganized and chaotic. Drinks and condiments area was a soda-splattered mess. Floor was dirty/sticky. Piles of loose napkins. A very angry lady shouted my to-go order number and I got out of there. Zaxby's Midtown, after just 8 weeks, has achieved the standard of every other fast-food franchise on Ponce: unfriendly and unclean on the inside, menacing on the outside.

This might be the fastest Zaxby's I have ever been too. Maybe they've all upped their service since it's been a long time since I've been been to one. Needless to say it's a good thing they move quickly since this Zax's has been packed out every time I've driven past. The food is of the same quality as all Zaxby's. I still wish they would offer their fries without seasoning. I hate that shit. Just put some salt on it and call it a day. The seemingly fresh (for fast food) chicken tenders make up for it though.

  • Jenn S.

The rating they have is good. I think it's a 100. The food is good, when you finally get it. It's just that. The wait is almost always outrageous. Whether you be there at 11 on a Friday or 10 on a Monday, there is guaranteed to be a 10 minute wait, if you're lucky. 10 has been my fastest experience, 25, the longest. They are just so busy. But with that being said, they do their best with what they have. I would definitely go again, just don't expect it to be an in and out transaction.

Drive-thru backed out to the road and not a single parking space. Did I miss some Wednesday 9:30 pm run on battered chicken? But service was polite and faster than expected.

I love Zaxby's. This one's a bit crowded, and I hope that will die down. Good news is you can quickly get in and out of Popeye's now. ll They ran out of large drink cups....how is that possible? Glad there is a location closer to downtown now.

New Zaxby's in Atlanta! Food is amazing, as expected, but what stood out was the level of service. You just don't get great service in Fast-Casual restaurants in Atlanta, but they are doing a great job so far. Since it's their first week open it is really hard draw any substantial conclusions, so we'll have to re-visit in a few weeks to see how they're faring (and maybe a couple times in between as well).

False advertising. The posted hours are not what they follow and I was treated extremely inconsiderately. I arrived before their posted closing time at 1am and was told they closed at 12:45am. Just post 12:45 if that's the way you want to run your business.

The staff was friendly, the service was fast, and the food was delicious. It was a little loud, but that's because the place was packed. I hope they keep up this level of service.Well done!

Never been to a zaxby's before this one but this place is delicious. The blackened chicken salad is the most delicious thing ever! Also the cake batter milkshake is sinfully delicious. Gotta go!

I came to zaxbys tonight to use my gift card. I told them upon ordering that I would be using a gift card. I arrived at the window to find that my gift card was not acceptable because their internet was down. I came to this zaxbys for the sole purpose of using my gift card, I'm a college student and cannot afford zaxbys regularly. They offered no apology or substitute, and I was forced to pay with my debit card. I will never come back.

Whoever put this on Ponce is a freaking genius. Excellent location if you frequent downtown or midtown often. The food and the prices are fine. The only small complaint that I have is the traffic. The place was crowded when I went. They had a cop telling cars to circle the building so that they could get in the drive thru line. I followed the rules correctly but another snuck in front of me when the cop stepped inside for a minute. smh. Other than that it was a good experience. I will check this spot out again.

Nuts and bolts: I had heard alot of hype about Zaxby's in general before this location opened. So I was really excited when this opened up down the street from me. I have had to visits since their opening. On the last visit, I went because they sent a coupon in the mail (free fingerz with purchase of soda and fries). Order: Chicken fingerz with fries and house zalad. Pros: Both the chicken fingerz and fries were OK. Cons: Not a fan of the Zaxby's sauce (skip that). The zalad was just weird. There were cut up pieces of texas toast in it. I thought it was going to be on the side like in the picture. And the toast was too buttery and too salty. It really ruined the whole zalad (I really hate having to write zalad). A bit pricier than competitors, I think. Take home: I may go on occasion for a chicken finger fix.

Finally! An ITP location!! Someone told me Zaxby's and KFC cut a deal that Zaxby's wouldn't build any restaurants within the city limits for a certain timeframe and that timeframe expired. Whatever the reason doesn't really concern me... it's Zaxby's and that's some good grub! I always order the Buffalo Blue Zalad (No spellcheck I meant for it to have a Z). It's filling and does a great job of making me feel like I'm doing something good for my body. *Don't worry, I'm under no illusions... I know what's going down.* Recently tried the banana pudding milkshake. I would trade my first born (of one ever pops out) for one of these shakes, it was that delicious! I will mention that it was borderline too sweet for me which I thought was unheard of, but you know I finished it. Yeah, the line is crazy sometimes but they're open early/late enough where you can catch them at a reasonable wait time. I haven't yet but you can order online. The customer service has always been great! The manager and the employees are always helpful and attentive and my order is never wrong.

    (5)
  • Whitney T.

Order online! That's my #1 recommendation for this location. You don't have to stand in line and it's ready about 5 minutes after you arrive. However, once the inside closes and only the drive-thru is open, you can't order online. For the amount of traffic they've been getting, I have no complaints. My food tastes great and is fresh. The customer service is just okay, it could be better but no telling what they're putting up with all day with the high volumes of customers they've had. So glad there's a Zaxby's in Midtown. I've been waiting on this for a few years! They even stay open until 3am on some nights. Whoohoo!!!

I've gone to my same nail tech for 9 years. New to the city, so Based on the reviews I decided to try this place. I made an appointment for a fill, and Andy is who helped me. He did an excellent job and I will be back. It also helps that you receive complimentary wine during your services. Looking forward to returning!!

Who doesnt love Zaxby's? I am embarrassed to tell you how excited I was when this one opened so close to my house :| The place is usually pretty busy. For some reason the staff is always sitting and taking a break and occupying at least one table. During busy times, they should take a break elsewhere in my opinion. But service is usually friendly and they cook to order but the food comes out decently fast. Its clean when I go in and I appreciate that. They have some of the best chicken fingers ever and zax sauce needs no hype. Parking can get cray though.

    (4)
  • Jan N.

Note to self: Do not order the so-called fries from here. Ever. They don't taste like potato or, anything at all. Don't waste the calories on them. The chicken strips are usually pretty good here, as are the salads, and the (fried) cheese bites.

Woah Woah!! Why have I been sleeping on ZAXBYS???? I guess because before this one the closest one to me was 40 mins away chile. Well let's just say it was worth the wait. This was my first time in my 23 years of living eating Zaxbys!! The drive thru line was insance when we pulled up but it move pretty fast. Drive thru cashier was nice!! Food is $$ and my meal did not come with a drink Oh well. It was good. I would go back. People are telling me to try the salad I will . Everytime I pass this place its always a LINE!! I wish I knew what time was consider a down time but I guess since its NEW & its one finally in the CITY downtime???? is not a factor here.. What are you waiting on go get you some.

found not 1 but 2 pieces of hair in my sandwich. and not any hair, slick looked like pubes. also ordered a sweet tea, didn't receive it, asked for it, was charged a 2nd time, got a half filled cup of coke.

I get a Cobb salad 2-3 times a week. I never eat inside. I love the salad but it is almost always missing an ingredient. Simple but that's what brings it all together. Staff are nice. I think they're in such a rush to clear the lines that they have errors.

  • David K.

We were on our way to Chipotle when I asked Edward L. to pull a Duke's of Hazard in his Jetta so we could get some chicken. I think everyone can agree that Zaxby's is awesome. That sauce is like crack and I'd smoke it if they sold pipes here. With that said, this location isn't that great. Clearly we discovered it after the mad rush that everyone else has described. Seems like that would be good, but even with less customers they still couldn't seem to find time to wipe down the tables. That and the employees here don't seem to understand what comes on their Zalads (yes, that's salad with a Z). Someone ahead of us had to bring hers back and ask for fried onions, which are clearly shown in the picture. I'm a little suspicious of the new users that seemed to pop up just to review this restaurant. Anyone else think it's a little fishy that Clint C. & Jose T. both made a point to single out service when service clearly isn't what they're good at doing?

  • James R.

I just came from this location . It was ok! The lady at the window acted like she didn't want to work and handed me my cherry fanta without the lid fully secured. I believe she didn't take her time because she didn't want to be there.
