This was my first time at this restaurant chain, I was pleasantly surprised by their knowledge on what was safe for someone with gluten allergies. Also their tofu was flavorful, unlike other similar restaurants that service tofu. And their habanero salsa was fantastic, no spice but the flavor was great. Everything else was so so. Rice and beans had no flavor, corn salsa was from a can, veggies didn't have any seasoning. We plan on coming back, but I know now what to avoid and what to get more of.

I go there at least once a week and enjoy them every time. The service is consistently good and so is the food that comes with fresh ingredients. I also love their chips that come along with the food. If you haven't go there yet, it's definitely worth a try. As I said, consistent service and good food which definitely serves as a good meal.

Drove a long way to come here, chicken tasted funny and chips were soggy. When I said something no offer to fix. Very sad as I once loved this place.

Tried this place out for the first time today, and it was an instant hit for me. I appreciated that they had a little area for customers to stand and look at the menu without being in the way of others. I ordered the Cilantro Steak Burrito in a wheat tortilla, and from there it was a pretty straightforward lunch-line ordering deal. I was glad to see that some Hispanics (presumably Mexican) worked there, and I got to use my limited Spanish skills to order filler items such as "lechuga" and "queso". The service was pretty good, although the guy steaming the tortillas was slapping them around like they owed him money. The total was $21 for 2 burritos, queso dip, and a drink, so it wasn't very pricey. The food itself was very tasty, but nothing stellar. I will try other menu items before saying there's nothing awesome here. However, the queso dip was some of the best I've had in a while. I liked all the selections from their salsa bar, even though none of them were very spicy. I also noticed that they sell King of Pop's popsicles, which left me thinking, "How does that even go together?". After some intense research (one Google search) I found out that KOP is Atlanta-based and handmade, which is a natural fit according to Willy Bitter, COB (Chief of Burritos). Interesting side note: the Cinnamon Churro flavor was created specifically for Willy's. Next time I go, I'll be shelling out a few extra bucks to try it. Overall, good place, great atmosphere (80's music the whole time I was there), and good food.

I use to go here when I lived in Atlanta over eight years ago. I was in town today And discovered it is still the best fast Mexican food anywhere. They beat out Chipotle and Moe's. They're queso dip is the best and for anyone who lives close by you are lucky to have such a great place!

Willy's is always awesome. Burritos are always great. Now granted they don't have the magic coke machine that make 4 million different soda mixes, but that's a good reason to order a corona and enjoy.

This place was hopping when I came in on a rainy Friday night, but fortunately the line moved rather quickly. I decided to order their Willy's salads, which I now tend to get. On this occasion I decided to order the chicken salad with black beans, pico, tomatoes, onions, black olives, cheese, lettuce, cucumbers, cilantro, and some lime juice. And let me tell ya... that was a lot of food! They also give you a choice of salad dressing, I decided to go with their vinaigrette which is pretty tasty. Overall the salad was very good, the ambiance is that of your typical Willy's restaurants with the whole Tex-Mex ambiance and the staff was very friendly. Oh and their guacamole is not bad at all either! so check that out, still though, it's not better than la Carreta's. Good guacamole is hard to find these days.... #365Yelp 35/365

I never ate Willy's until I lived this close to one. I have always been a Moe's girl, but I have been converted. I agree, no ridiculous shouted greeting is awesome! Plus, they have everything I like on my veggie burrito, especially FRESH jalapenos. And that hot sauce in the bottle is the icing on my burrito cake.

I really do love this place. You do need to schedule when you are coming though. Do not go between 11 and about 1 that is when they are busy and you will be in a long line. But other than that Willy is much better than Moes (yuck) anyday! I always get corn tacos with beef, cheese, onions, and cilantro and a side of guac and chips. Its as simple as that! Reminds me of California. Really wish I could eat there everyday..I can taste the taco in my mouth right now!

Ah Willy's. We have a long history together. It's very rare if I'm not in the mood for Willy's. I used to get their burritos a lot...then I couldn't figure out why I was getting so fat! So I rarely get the burritos anymore, but since I've discovered the huge salads with tons of veggie toppings, I really don't miss it. It's hit or miss with the meat (sometimes juicy, sometimes burnt and dry), so I am normally fine without it. They have 3 kinds of salsa for their awesome chips (all yummy) and the guacamole is often very tempting! I can do without the queso dip. Don't like salad or burritos? Try yourself the dang K-so-dill-uhs! or various tacos! Fiesta! Summary: there's something for everyone. It's a good one to have in the lunch / dinner rotation. Great price. Fresh salad. Full of taste!

Willy's Mexicana is about as Mexican as the name Willy. After reading positive reviews of this local chain, I came here and was very disappointed. A Mexican burrito is NOT meant to have white rice, this is not Panda Express. All the ingredients on my burrito were cold minus the rice and beans. The corn that I regret adding tasted like it was fresh out of a can... Possibly canned in Mexico making it the most legit item on the menu. The inside is clean, very similar in look to a La Salsa or local chain Moe's. You order from a counter and watch them make your food. They have a salsa bar, which was my favorite part of the experience. The hot habanero salsa was very good Overall, 2 stars... Only because I liked the salsa

We are huge fans of Willy's at our house and drive way out of our way past other burrito chains just to get here. EVERYTHING is better here, from the marinated tofu, to the cheese dip, to the sauces, to the cookies! It is obvious they pay attention to quality and freshness. We get so many cravings for this place it is a little embarrassing. :)

Willy's primes for good service. It should also be highlighted that it is accessible in terms of price, cleanliness of the restaurant, friendliness of the staff. The menu and food overall is impeccable, with lots of diversity and possibility of choices and mixes. Highly recommended.

I really enjoy the location of the Cumberland Willy's. It's come through in many an occasion. On certain days when traffic has been abysmal, or I've had a really bad assignment that has made me skip a meal, this Willy's has bailed me out. Before I went to go see Eddie Izzard at Cobb Energy, my friends and I were hungry, and this Willy's bailed us out. When my friend wanted to buy us food for helping him move, this Willy's came through yet again. Location wise, I imagine it's fairly busy during peak lunch times, but given the magnanimous number of other options remotely, as well as a short drive away, this one probably has a bit more competition than some others. The parking lot is a bit tiny, and suspect, but I've had little genuine problems with it overall. There's a decent amount of seating despite the strip-style store they have, and their servings are about on par with what I deem acceptable. Otherwise, it's the same great food and service that has me seeking out Willy's on a very regular basis.

I'm sad. Willy's used to be my favorite franchise burrito place. I always considered it better than Moe's and Chipotle. Back then, I used to love Willy's because it tasted better than Moe's and gave you free chips unlike Chipotle. Willy's also gave you a bunch of stuff you can put in your burrito such as roasted red peppers, olives, cucumbers, etc. Chipotle only gave you corn and salsa. Slowly, however, I've grown to love Chipotle's burrito's more and more. Whenever I go back to Willy's, everything taste bad, soggy, and bland. I don't know where the magic went. Maybe since I'm getting older my tastes are changing? Who knows? All I know is that Willy's isn't the same burrito place I used to love. It now sucks. And it isn't just the burritos that lost their magic. Their nachos, salads, etc. have all lost their magic too.

Friggin' love Willy's. Way better than Moe's or Chipolte. Very fresh ingredients and such a great deal. Quesadillas are amazing and I can get a huge salad filled w/ fresh veggies for $6. They also have yummy, thin, crispy tortilla chips with a salsa bar. This location is always clean & the staff is so friendly and fast. Great place for lunch or a quick dinner.

This was my first experience eating from Willy's and it was very decent. I had the smaller buritto with rice, black beans, some type of chicken and sour cream. In fact, I ate here so much I ended up getting sick on one of my outtings. I can't say it was because of their food...as I think it was gluttony on my part. Get the smaller portions. Your eyes are bigger than your stomach.

The Veggie Taco is the best deal on the menu. Get it and feel good about what you are eating. You can even get it without the tortilla so you are doing your body extra good. I love WILLYS!! Please expand into other states so I will not be without you in the near future!

Perfect in every way. I got the garlic steak burrito and it was way better than Moe's or Chipoltle. They also offer whole wheat tortillas for .25 more. Very affordable and great value.

Decided to stop by this Willy's off of Cumberland Pkwy yesterday for lunch. It was very, very busy and neither the dining area nor parking lot was large enough to really accommodate the amount of business they have (note they share a parking area with other businesses as this is a strip mall situation). However, this is not why they got the two stars. Let me be clear, I love Willy's in general. I think their food and especially their salsa is wonderful. However, at this Willy's I experienced something that I haven't ever experienced in the various other locations I have visited. I ordered tacos on this visit and I encountered 3 (let me spell that out: three) bones while eating. I find this to be egregiously unacceptable. I would have given a pass on the first one because, hey, it happens. But three is another story all together. Who wants to be eating a taco and then encounter a bone or three? What it says is that the proper time wasn't taken to ensure the bones were removed properly. If I encountered three bones, I'm sure others encountered bones as well. Inexcusable. I will pass on this location next time.

I went Wednesday night for dinner, the food was great as usual, but it was the attitude of some of the employees. It was 7:45 when we got our food, when we went to get our drinks they were out of un-sweet tea, I told the young lady behind the counter and she just glared at me. She could have made more un-sweet tea but she didn't even offer. After all the place doesn't close til ten so how hard would it have been to make some. She just didn't want to be bothered.

Oh...how I miss Willy's! After moving to SC, I am ashamed that I've been reduced to having to go to Moe's! I actually talked with a Moe's franchise owner and even he agreed Willy's is better. The Chipotle salsa is the bomb. 10 times better than Moe's!

Good: clean. Yummy. Generous with to go chips. Great good. Decent customer service. Not as busy as chipotle. Bad: nothing really. Conclusion: I'll be seeing you soon!!

I keep going back and forth between Chipotle and Willy's. There are definitely things that I prefer at Willy's over Chipotle: 1) Free chips and salsa as a side 2) more choices to top off your burrito (or in my case the burrito bowl). I love their corn better than Chipotle who tend to be too heavy on the red onions. I love having cucumbers as an option as well as the numerous other options 3) they have spicy chicken. I really like the spicy chicken at Willy's. It packs a bit of a punch, but not too much. I prefer the rice of Chipotle. All in all, I've been craving Willy's about once a week lately. Not sure why, but it's conveniently located, so I come here regularly on the weekend.

At the time we visited this location(8pm) it was not clean. I don't know if it's because of the time of day or if the staff was just lazy. The tables were not clean, the free salsa bar did not look like something id want to eat from and the area near the counter and kitchen reeked of urine. I was disgusted. On top of all that my food was not great. I've made better tacos at home. I could've gone to Taco Bell and been much happier and saved some money.

This was my first visit. Not worthy of a 2nd trip. Not too sure how I walk in thinking " this is like a Moe's" but my bill was well above what I thought I would spend. The facility had an awkward smell to it. The food was not good (I didn't eat it all). Bad experience. Please be warned, not worth it in any ways.

The only one outside the metro-Atlanta area and I gladly drive 3 hours to eat here. (on my way back up to Georgia) Very fresh ingredients. Very friendly and helpful staff. Very Very delicious food. Go here and Go Gators.

The strange thing for me is that I really don't care for Mexican grills like Moe's, Chipotle, Gecko's, Gezzo's, etc. The first time I went to Willy's I didn't expect to like it, my second visit was two days later; I absolutely loved it.

Amazing burritos, tacos, quesadillas and everything else!! Honestly, I'm not a big fan of Mexican food, but I'm totally hooked on to this place! I work close by so usually I just drive to this place to grab lunch. My personal favorite is the garlic cilantro steak burrito and the veggie burrito gets a close second. However, be warned, if you are a tiny person, the burrito is really huge. I can finish it only on days when I skip breakfast. On other days, I get some soggy yet delicious evening snack :) I also love the habanero salsa that they have at the salsa bar. And the complimentary chips are always so fresh and delicious. Drool!! Try this place and be warned, you'll be hooked!

The Veggie Burrito is so good! Even if you are a meat eater, I would highly recommend it. For meat eaters, I'm told Cilantro Garden Steak and Adobe Chicken burritos are good. Chips and salsa are fresh and quite good. Warning: burrito size is enormous... the definition of over-eating but gluttony isn't bad once in a while. Parking isn't that great but the food is worth it. Atmosphere is a little too loud, so it makes it hard to hear the staff.

This is my go-to for a quick bite. Willy's is always fresh, hot and friendly. My only complaint is their salsas. I'm not as crazy about them as I am Moe's. But, I like everything else at Willy's better than Moe's so I guess it's even. I usually go for a burrito bowl or salad, and get a tortilla on the side. It helps so then I can make a burrito for later if I'm not super hungry. My only complaint about this location is the tables are usually dirty. And is why I get my order to go most of the time.

As much as I patronize this place, you'd think I'd give more stars. I love the food at Willy's but they don't get more stars because of the inconsistency. I normally get a salad, burrito bowl or Baja burrito. The Baja burrito is delicious! Part of what I like about the Baja is the presentation. And this is where this location falls off. Basically if I see certain folks behind the counter preparing the food, I leave. Today they pulled the okie doke. One of my least favorite preparers came from the back right when my Baja was placed on the grill. I got 2; one for hubby and one for me. Mine was placed on the grill second but dude took it off first. So it didn't get the slight browning I like so much. If it wasn't so crowded, I would have requested that someone else finish preparing our food. My other beef is that the health inspection score is located in the back hall leading to the bathroom. They currently have a 91.

So yeah...I have a bit of a problem. I can't stop going to Willy's! My love affair with Willy's began back in 2007 when I moved to Vinings. It was just up the road from my apartment complex. In the mood for quick Mexican, but didn't feel like doing the whole sit-down experience, my roommate at the time and I tried Willy's. And yes, it was AWESOME. I can't remember what I had that night, because since that point I think I have tried literally everything on the menu. In my opinion, the people keep things moving quickly (it can get CRAZY busy in there, especially during lunch time), and everything is always fresh. Plus the employees are friendly, even when it's insanely busy and the line is out the door. Queso, soft tortillas, grilled chicken, sour cream, shredded cheese and pico? YES PLEASE!

I had the pork burrito which is my favorite. I told my wife that I can't get pulled pork like this nowhere else. Keeping it simple on the toppings to onions, cilantro, sour cream and guacamole. I did feel cheated on the tortilla chips but by the time I finished eating, I was completely full.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
