Best pizza in Atlanta I have had, to date! Especially if you are interested in the famed "New York style" pizza (the NJ-bred bf will vouch for this) with huge slices so thin it just makes perfect sense to fold them in half lengthwise (or what I like to think of as bisecting the angle). We have been here on a number of occasions, and the pizzas are always so consistently delicious. We generally split a whole pie between us, with half white (no tomato sauce), half meatball. I can eat only about two slices before I cry uncle; my manly counterpart generally gets through three! Which still leaves us three huge slices as leftovers, all for about 18 bucks after tax. So, pricier than your bottom-rung Domino's or Pizza Hut, but the step up in quality and taste isn't something you can really put a price tag on.

Very tasty pizza and a casual low-key atmosphere. I love to my pizza had more toppings than just crust. This meant that there was so much flavor every bite. I got just one slice of pizza and it was enough to make my stomach and my wallet feel satisfied. I would have liked to have had some larger tables inside but my friends and I were able to sit at one of the patio tables which was fine. Having to pay for nearby parking is a bit of pain but this pizza is good and my husband and I will most likely be coming back. I'm going to get a slice of mushroom pizza next time. I got to try a bite of my friend's mushroom pizza and the mushrooms tasted so fresh and wonderful.

New York style pizza made perfectly. Thin chewy crust that can hold up to toppings. High quality ingredients on every bite. Great casual atmosphere. This is how New York pizza is supposed to be.

After years of saying "I should really start writing Yelp reviews and not just relying on others"... Vinny's is what's making me do it. I love you, Vinny's, now and forever. VInny's flies way under the radar. I've been coming here for 3 years, since I first moved to Atlanta and missed the NY style pizza I could find more easily in my past cities around the Northeast. It's every bit as classically good as those others, only, that's such a rarity in Atlanta. My good friend and I come here as often as we can, and always get the same thing - one large bacon pizza (not a classic NY topping, but, just try it, what can I say). Half a Vinny's pizza has been known bring about an intense food coma (it's huge), but I've never regretted it. It's perfect.

Great Scoutmob deal! My boyfriend and I ordered a large white pizza. We added green bell peppers and chicken. I had a small Greek salad. The food was delicious!

Good pizza!!!! Slices are cheap loved the white pizza, good fresh ingredients. NOT a lot of sitting room. Very quick! Will def come again for a quick slice!!

I literally just finished a slice of pizza and had to give it 5 stars immediately. This is New York style pizza!! My husband and I moved to Atlanta a year ago from New York. We have enjoyed so many restaurants in Atlanta but have never been able find true NY pizza until today. All we had is a plain cheese pizza, that's because that is the true test for pizza. If the crust, cheese and sauce is good than you know you have a good base. This is not fancy pizza like Varasano's or Friti. Its a slice for $2.25 that had the taste of home. I am so HAPPY that we discovered this place! I immediately shared the news with 3 others friends that moved to Atlanta from NY. We all miss good pizza and bagels. Pizza is checked off so now the hunt is for bagels. 8/4 UPDATE. My husband and I came here again. We ordered. 2 slices of pizza with mushrooms and sausage. They really pile on the toppings, so you don't feel like you get ripped off for paying extra. Still very good pizza. Chicken Parm Sandwich - Excellent crusty bread. I think the bread is homemade because it has the same excellent taste and "crustiness" as the pizza. The sauce is delicious and they give you so much chicken. The sub cost $8.95 but well worth the price. It also comes with potatoes chips. Canolli - OMG delicious. They make it fresh. When I ordered it I watched the guy go back to the kitchen. He took an empty shell and filled it with Canolli cream! OMG so so so good. I'm so glad this place is not too close to my home, I would gain 20 lbs for going there everyday!! I had to stop myself from going back the very next day! Tip - if your not used to parking in mid-town it could be a pain. There is 15 parking on the sidewalk in front of the place. If you want to eat a quick slice and soda that's fine. But my husband wanted to eat leisurely at the outdoor section so we parked in the deck on the right side of the building. They validate your ticket so there is free parking..not sure how long, but we were there less than an hour.

Had both the New York and the Chicago Style and must say, #Atlanta holds it down. Just got back from my first tango with Chicago Pizza in Lou Manati's and I've had a torrid history with New York style pizza. This Atlanta spot represents both with a fine delicacy worth a visit from those out of town. Yea. Go. Get a Coke. With Sugar.

Best pizza I've had in Atlanta hands down! Very friendly staff, exceptionally clean, great prices. I ordered three slices of pepperoni and jalapeno after scouring yelp for pizza nearby. I was extremely satisfied with my decision. The pickled jalapenos actually had some good heat and the pepperoni was full of flavor. I will absolutely be back to grab a few slices if I'm in Midtown again.

Pizza restaurants are about as ubiquitous as Chinese restaurants, they seem to be everywhere. Vinny's offers up the usual whole pie plus pizza by the slice along with salads, stromboli, calzones and a few pasta entrees. The food is okay, if pretty average, and I haven't found any standouts here. You can order a 16" pie in all the typical combinations, or get a New York or Sicilian slice. I like being able to satisfy a pizza craving without having to spring for a whole pie, but it falls short in comparison to Fellini's or Mellow Mushroom. The Stromboli is huge and definitely enough for two. The pasta entrees are the best things on the menu. One nice feature is the outdoor seating on a tree-lined street just off Peachtree. Vinny's isn't a place I'd seek out, but it will satisfy if you're in the neighborhood.

I cant say I am an expert on what region has what types of pizza. I know I like good pizza, all kinds and Vinnys has good pizza. Its made right in damn front of you so you know it is fresh and you can taste freshness in the toppings. I havent had a bad pizza from here but it does come at a premium, if you order a whole pie, which I always do. Be prepared to spend about 30 bucks for their specialty inc tip. The slices are very reasonable however. Parking is validated for an hour in the deck.

Finally, a place in Atlanta that executes pizza like it should be. If you are from the northeastern tri-state area, you'll be happy to find this place because its the closest to a traditional NY style that I've come across. It has the taste, look, and style that you'd be use to, but at a more expensive price point (food in ATL costs more for some reason). Overall its a good pizza cooked perfectly with the right balance of sauce and cheese, but the dough is just a tad bit bland, which probably due to the water used in Georgia vs. NY/NJ/CT. Its really a 3-star pizza (compared to other places up north), but since its the best option in Atlanta it get 4-stars. If you want your food delivered, you'd have to use Zifty but don't worry because they will get to quickly while its still hot and fresh. Definitely try this place!

Real New York pizza this is not. However it is better the Pizza Hut which isn't exactly a major feat. For one thing the cheese is liable to fall off when you pick up a slice. Also good New York pizza always has olive oil I have yet to detect any trace of olive oil on any pizza at Vinny's. This place would also benefit from offering delivery. But never the less this place was always up until tonight. We ordered two pizzas one margherita and one sausage and pepperoni. The margherita came out as ordered however the pepperoni and sausage magically became a sausage and mushroom. The person who picked up the pizzas neglected to check them. And why should he have? One wouldn't think that pepperoni and mushrooms could easily be confused. I'd like to stress this is the first time they've ever messed up but I freaking hate mushrooms and this is a pretty large foul up. But turning around and returning the pizza was a rather unappealing option and everyone else was hungry so did my best to pick Vinny's many mistakes off my slices. Make sure you check your pizza before you leave. Pros +A better alternative to Pizza Hut and the like. +As close to real New York pizza as you're going to get in Midtown Atlanta. + Decent pie Cons -Not real New York pizza -No delivery -Might decide to change your toppings

This pizza is amazing!! As someone who was born in NY and visits NY often, I'm always on the hunt for NY style pizza. I've tried a few, even Fellini's, but this place has come the closest by far. I've been here several times since I stumbled across this spot on Yelp. I can say this is the best NY style pizza I've had in Georgia. I'm in heaven when I eat this pizza. Oh and please take the 15 minute parking out front serious or you will get booted (as they mention on the sign at the register). I'm convinced the city or the boot company has someone stalking that block itching for your 15 minutes to expire. Yes, I'm speaking from personal experience.

A hidden treasure in Atlanta. Vinny's offers some of the BEST authentic NY pizza out there! I usually get the 16" with pizza, but garlic is a tasty addition as well! They offer a great discount through the Scoutmob app.

I wish I could give this a negative review. The WORST FRIED FOOD I'VE HAD IN MY LIFE. The calamari was rubber wrapped in what can only be described as the saddest excuse for batter. The moz sticks were worse than what I get at arby's. The philly was the only eatable part of out meal. I am amazed you are still in business. We even gave you guys a second chance through go waiter. SAME RESULT. WOW.

Wonderful pizzeria! We order every other week to take out. If you done in the garlic rolls are great. I do advise you to SAVE up ur money and get a draft. The wine glass was it was ridiculously small. I even asked if this was supposed to be for a bottle ordered? She was clueless and barely spoke English. She KNEW I was in happy and never sent a manager or a supervisor. Hopefully they hire better staff. I did ask Louise B / our favorite and very professional sever but he was off.

This is my standard spot when I'm craving pizza similar to what I'd get back home in New Jersey. Their dough might not be the most flavorful or the thinnest around, but it's a reasonable facsimile of a standard tri-state slice. The sauce is fine, the cheese pretty good. Toppings are standard and applied generously, when ordered. Do you see what I'm getting at? I have no complaints about their pizza, but I'm not gushing about it. I will say that we have had really great salads here. I'm talking ice-cold, delicious veggies with perfect dressings. I believe they also serve sandwiches and occasional pasta specials but, being a pizza junkie, I've never ventured from my saucy cheesy standby. Vinny's will fill your pie craving if you've been away from home for a while, but let me tell you... that first bite of pizza when you're back North will ruin you upon your return to Atlanta!

Great pizza. Probably the best pizza joint in midtown. Little pricey. Average pizza is around 20 bucks. However, the pizza is well worth it to me. They even sell pizza by the slice.

Actual NYC Pizza!!!!! I moved to Atl area 9months ago. As a native New Yorker I found myself saying "this is not real NY pizza" one time too many when eating at pizza places that boast NY. Now Pregnant, I had a severe NYC pizza craving so I hit up google and found Vinny's midtown! The reviews were convincing enough for me to wake my poor sleeping husband & drag him out of bed to drive almost 20mls to the city so we can try this Vinny's. I am pleasantly satisfied!!! It is actual NYC pizza ;). Thank you Yelp for the platform and all reviewers for your feedback-you guys were spot on!

GREAT PIZZA! A little pricey, but worth it in my eyes. I got the sausage pizza, and a cheese pizza. Sausage was different from most sausage pizzas. It was cut thinly, which made it easier to eat and pick up with. It was an authentic New York style pizza, here in Atlanta. If your in college and on a budget like I was, this place is perfect for you. Nice chill spot, about 5 minutes from Georgia tech and everything is within walking distance. Well recommended!

I'm usually pretty long-winded and detail oriented on my reviews, but for this place I can keep it short. I've used the ScoutMob for this place a few times (once my ex-bf used it, once i used it, and once my friend used it). So simple enough to say I've been getting my slices for half off, and yanno that does make the pizza taste better. The first two times I went it was fantastic, the last time it was just okay, but even if I average them it's good pizza. The slices are a nice size, almost foldable. I don't think I would purchase a whole pie here because it would be too pricey, but if you want a slice or two this place is good for that. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The service is decent. It's a nice place to walk and grab a quick bite as sit and people watch outdoors. My main suggestion would be to maybe have later hours. I guess they actually get a 3 from me, but with the scoutmob deal they get a 4.

Good place, you aren't gonna write momma about it, but they do good Italian. The calzones and strombolis are beastly. Thing cant even fit on a normal dinner plate. That being said I havent perused around the whole menu sense I keep coming back to those delicious bundles of cheese.

In the midtown Atlanta pizza wars, Antico consistently wins the battle for the best Neapolitan, while Nancy's holds strong for best stuffed pizza. Unfortunately, no formidable contenders have laid claim to the best New York style pizza title - until now. As a former New Yorker, I am pleased as the proverbial punch to report that Vinny's New York pizza is now open for business and serving up the real deal. Food: Vinny's specializes in traditional New York style pizza - it's large, thin, and foldable. True to form, the pizza is also available by the slice or as a whole pie - a slice is 1/6th of a whole pie. Calzones, stromboli, and a limited selection of sandwiches are also available. Both alcoholic (beer + wine) and non-alcoholic (self-serve fountain) beverages are served. During my visit, I opted for a calzone, which was among the best I've had in Atlanta. The ingredients were fresh and flavorful and the crust was perfectly cooked. I also had a slice of pepperoni pizza, which was excellent. Service: Quick and cordial. All orders are placed at the front counter and the food is brought out to your table when it's ready. During my visit on a Saturday around noon, the time between order and arrival was less than 10 minutes. Atmosphere: Clean, casual, and comfortable. The dining room includes both high-top counter seating and low-top tables. There's also a handful of tables with umbrella's on the sidewalk outside the restaurant. Large flat screen T.V.'s are located in both the back and front of the restaurant. Cost: Comparable to most other pizza shops in the near vicinity. Slices are $2-$4, whole pizzas (16") are $15-$23, and calzones start at $7.50. Other: Takeout and delivery are offered in addition to dine-in service. Although Vinny's address is on Peachtree St., its entrance is actually located just around the corner on 7th street. Hours of operation are Sunday-Thursday, 11AM-10PM, and Friday-Saturday, 11AM-12AM. Metered street parking is available on 7th St. - alternatively, you can park for free on nearby Juniper or West Peachtree Streets.

Straight and to the point -- this is pretty decent pizza, but I think it costs too much for what you get. I like the one-size ordering. The crust is fantastic, it's easily one of the best I've had in a long time. The amount of sauce was just right. The toppings are where we came up short. Ordered a vegetarian pie, and the only ingredients with any real punch were the olives and onions. The tomatoes in particular were so incredibly watery it's almost as if they weren't there. So, for a ~$25 pie that was kind of disappointing. Still made a delicious leftover lunch. Stick with a straight cheese pie.

We ate here for lunch last week. This is a no frills place a few blocks from Georgia Tech. Excellent pizza! Very traditional New York style with chewy-crunchy crust, nice balance of cheese/sauce/toppings. We had a side Caesar salad that was simple, but well prepared. Maybe the best part is that they serve Red Stripe beer, which, I might add, is a perfect foil for this pizza. Perfect place for a pizza lunch. Staff was very nice and friendly. I will be back again for sure.

well, the guy was not friendly at all. I asked a little question if I could order pieces as all the prices there were for large complete pizzas, he was not in a good mood and after I ordered 2 pieces of white pizza he asked me if I knew a white pizza does not come with a tomatos based sauce! I ate it at home but well the pizza was really heavy and greasy. I have had better pizzas.......

After moving to midtown, Vinny's pizza (by the slice) has become a staple in my diet. They always seem to use very fresh vegetables and toppings, with fresh crust made in-house, and their sauce is definitely made in house, and it's delicious. I'm very critical on sauce, but their sauce is really at the heart of what makes their pizza so great. You always find delicious little chunks of bell peppers in their sauce. One slice is a full meal for most people! If you eat in-house, they have garlic, oregano, parmesan and crushed red peppers at every table. This is delicious New York style pizza that you'll always want to fold in half while eating! :)

Good pizza, I wish it was much thinner. We ordered half & half. If you want to go here, please remember to look for its 50% coupon. Check-in to Foursquare and it'll show the 50% coupon and where to get it.

I'm from Brooklyn. Gonna take something drastic to impress me when it comes to pizza..since its my first..and only love. I always stop to try out a place that has the "NY" in its name, but I'm starting to get pissed because most of them suck and don't compare to home. This particular place, I ordered the Stromboli that had all the different meat in it. The ham, sausages, and ground beef was low quality. I ate it because I was starving. At least they had ESPN on the tv. Will I return? No.

I was really excited when Vinny's opened as the last pizza place that was in this location was not very good. I have been here several times and the slices can be hit or miss. Most of the times they are really good and there have plenty of cheese, fresh toppings, and most importantly a nice crisp crust. I don't think Vinny's slices are as good slices in NYC, but they are pretty close. On occasion the crust is a little soggy and just tastes a little old. They have calzones, sandwiches, and desserts which look really good too. Getting a whole pie is defiantly the way to go. They are a litte expensive (~$20) but totally worth it. They are huge and just taste a lot better than the slices. The service is always fast and the staff is friendly. They have a limited selection of beer but it's a good selection. The prices are very reasonable too. Overall I like this place and will continue to come back. It's one of the better pizza options in Midtown.

The gentleman that took my order was really nice! The food, though was ok. I got my free pepperoni slice via Scoutmob, and it tasted a lot like Sbarro pizza in the mall. Because the slice was free, I splurged on two slices of cheesecake (ha! gotta please my inner fatty). They were good... but to me not really worth the $5.00/slice price tag. They were itty bitty slices, which is fine (and how I justify getting two of them... don't judge me!) and they were a little rich. I'm picky about my cheesecake though. These were a little light, and I prefer my texture to be a little dense. The flavors were tasty though! Bottom line: I'd come back, but I wouldn't exactly go out of my way to do so.

  • Little L.

I'm just not sure how you can please some people. They bitch about the cost, but like the flavor. Maybe free would make them happy. Vinny's buys only the best quality ingredients, and ingredient costs have soared in the past 5 years and show no sign of slowing down. You can't have high quality pizza for cheap. "it don't work that way" So, stop your bitching about cost and just sit back and savor the flavor of Vinny's pizza.

  • Dayana R.

Vinny's is the best New York style pizza in Midtown. The salads are massive. I usually get the Vinny's Special. Can't go wrong with jalapeños. Sometimes I wish they would deliver to the condos nearby. That's just pure laziness on my part.

  • Christy B.

Such a great pizza spot. Rarely can you find a pizza place outside of New York with fantastic pizza. Not a pizza eater? The vinny's salad is fantastic! Wish they offered at least one more size. Seating is a traditional New York pizza spot. Love it!

I dropped in Vinnys for pizza. It was a good sign that a table of Italians were devouring a pizza. We ordered The White and also a Pepperoni with mushrooms and green peppers. The White was delicious and did not anger my acid reflux. The pepperoi mushroom and green pepper combo did, but I had Tums on hand. I was disappointed with the sweet tea. I liked the pizza. It was thin with not a ton of sauce but plentiful toppings.

Growing up in New Jersey, and then living in "The City", to me, pizza is more than just a quick snack. It is a cultural identity. If your family did not order pizza from the same place as my family did, there is a good chance that we would never be friends. It's not that I didn't like you, it's more that your sub-par choice of pizzerias demonstrated a clear lack of judgment. Imagine how excited I was when Vinny's, a New York style pizza joint opens up two blocks from me, in Atlanta. I could not wait to go and grab a slice. However, for some unknown reason, it took me way to long to stop over there. Though, I am glad that I finally did. The atmosphere is exactly what I excepted, as is the food. Its not the best NY style pizza I have ever sunk my teeth into, but it is also very far from the worst. The crust is thin and foldable while the cheese is molten and delicious. The pizza had the perfect ratio of sauce to cheese to crust. The salad is exactly what I want from a pizzeria salad. The veggies were cut way too big and haphazardly tossed into a container. It reminds me of the family guy skit where peter pokes fun at every pizzeria salad ever made...I digress. My maingripe is the price. The price of a cheese pizza is fine, but the price of toppings is as close to highway robbery as it comes. If the pricepoint was a little bit lower, this would be creeping up to the elusive 5 star category. Still, I am only human and I need my pizza fix from time to time, so Vinny's will be my go to spot.

I am prefacing this review by stating that I have never actually set foot in Vinny's. but by the grace and all that is good magical deliver service, Zifty, a pizza from Vinny's appears on our doorstep about once a week, piping hot and delicious. So let's get right down to it: the pizza is the bomb. I'm on a conatant quest to find that perfect slice of floppy, greasy New York style pizza and Vinny's has it down to a T. Most ordered pizzas are the plain cheese, pepperoni and The Works. All have been absolutely perfect from a dough-to-sauce-to-cheese-to-topping ratio. Big and thin enough to implore the fold-and-eat technique with a delightfully crispy and airy crust to finish. Salads are good too. My fiance always craves veggies as a hangover cure, so getting a huge caeser salad on the side is an amazing compromise. As I said before, never having been to Vinny's, I cannot comment on the ambiance or the staff, but my living room ambiance is excellent and Zifty is absolutely on point with fast delivery and still piping hot food. I swear, they must own teleporters or something. So, Vinny's, keep doin what you're doin'. Maybe we'll get up off our lazy bums and come meet y'all one day, but probably not. Until then, I'll continue to scarf down your epically perfect pizzas in the comfort of my underpants with a cold beer.

I came here 4 times last weekend in between work and play. I have got to say the pizza was good and indeed very much like a solid NY corner slice spot. For three of the times I had just a slice to go, but then the last time a friend and I ordered a whole pie and with tax it was for sure less then $20.00 and way too much for us to finish. I welcome a solidly affordable quick serve option within this corridor. I also hope they can stay open later on weekends. 3AM slices in Atlanta would be a nice addition and something I would take over Waffle House or Buddah any night. Best of luck Vinny, you are alright!

Great pizza by the slice! The calzones are big enough to share. The salads are enormous - our favorite is the Greek Artichoke salad with balsamic vinaigrette. The service is excellent!

We're always on the hunt for a good slice wherever we go, and a friend recommended Vinny's. We ordered a whole Caprese pie (8 slices) to-go for 3 of us & there was plenty plus leftovers. Pizza tasted great and authentic. Service was friendly & pretty quick. Not too far of a walk from Tech campus. Would come back again!

This place is really good if you are on lunch break and would like a huge cheap slice of pizza. Their younger staff are very nice while the older cooks are very straight to the point and not as welcoming. If you like huge pieces of pizza to fold and devour this is your place.

I LOOOVVVEEE THIS PLACE! This is like my 7th time eating here in like the last two weeks. THANKS YELPERS! I was in need for some large greasy pizza and this place has me SOLD! The pizza is so hot and very filling. The atmosphere is really nice, its a nice lunch spot. However, I do agree with everyone on that cashier girl who took my order, She needs to have some better customer service, there is no reason why the customer should have to greet you first. Even when I greeted her she had that blank stare on her face, like dude go work in the back if you arent a peoples person. Other than her EVERYONE of the crew members are nice! ultimately it really depends on how you like your pizza, I still havent had the chance to try NY pizza but I will definitely look forward to it. Hope this helps!

Vinny, vinny, I so want to love you! But like a bad boy boyfriend, you make it really difficult! I love that you're walking distance from my place, on my pup route, and you'll have it ready when we get there, and bring it to the patio for me. I love that u do big, sloppy, NY skinny slices, with toppings galore, and u sell slices of your gourmet pies. You've got strombolis, not just calzones. You have Sicilian slices. Your slices are big, and the price is great. But Vinny! Where's the flavor? I'm usually content with just a slice of cheese, but the sauce left me wanting more. I splurged on my last visit with toppings, but neither of my combos satisfied; the sausage, while pleasantly not rabbit dropping style, was more sliced kielbasa style. Not what I was hoping for. The other, spinach, bacon and shrooms, actually needed salt. I know. A pizza with a meat topping needing salt? Unheard of! I keep thinking I'm not ordering your best, so I keep trying something different. Guess I haven't gotten it right yet? One thing is consistent with each visit: food coma is unavoidable. Must be one of the few places still using full fat mozzarella. Knocks me out every time!

Absolutely fantastic. As a true born and raised New Yorker, this pizza was delicious. It IS made by a New Jersey guy, but that's close enough I suppose. Hell, some plaes in New Jersey could use his skills. The pizza was so good that my 4 year old - who is very picky - was dancing as he ate 2 large slices of the pie. I had a slice of the cheese pie - amazing - and a slice of the Sicilian with meatballs and black olives - absolutely delicious. I had asked for corner slices, but the guy finally explained as I got there that they got left with too many non-edge pizzas so they make the sicilian in a circle or cut it into triangular slices. That was fine. It tasted great. Will be back. If you are from the Northeast, hit this place first. I bet their meatball sub is pretty great, too, from the great taste of the meatballs. Very pleased. Sorry I doubted you when I called and you didn't respond to my order for a pie and asked for the corner slices - I got dubious. I was wrong. Your pizza is fantastic.

Stringy piping-hot cheese and a thin crispy crust... what else do you want from a NY-style pizza? Their 16" pizzas are huge --- 8 slices each, and anyone will be full with about 2-3 slices. Their white pizza is surprisingly addictive. The house salad goes well with the pizza, though there's nothing really special about it. I like that there's a container of Italian seasoning on the table to add to pizza if you'd like --- plus the regular peppers and parmesan. Service is great. There's a parking garage right next to the restaurant, but I don't think parking is validated... Pretty sure I'll be craving the white pizza again soon, and I'll know exactly where to go!

The pizza here is very good, and it is one of the few places in Atlanta that lives up to its title in terms of serving real "New York pizza." My only minor complaint was that the single slice that I ordered, while very good, got cold before I finished, which I think was due to the A/C blasting away on a summer day that was not all that hot. Nevertheless, if you like NY pizza, you will like this place. Their prices are reasonable.

Good solid slice of pizza, courtesy of Scoutmob. I've been on a never ending quest to find good pizza in Atlanta. This one is a good one...thin (except close to the crust, which is a little thicker than I would like), nice mix of sauce and cheese. Looking forward to trying the white pizza too.

Vinny's is relatively new (a few months old) to the Midtown area and has a outdoor seating in front of the restaurant. The pizza is cooked to order, slices are big, and the crust is crispy. I've had their Meat O Mania and it is pretty good! It's not fancy artisanal pizza, but it's worlds better than Domino's. Vinny's also offers calzones and strombolis and, for those in the Midtown area, takeout and delivery is also available. I do think the pizza is a little expensive, but it's still good.

Why did we go? We wanted to try out a new pizza spot to have something a little different than Antico, so we quickly reviewed ScoutMob & FourSquare apps for some suggestions. Since this was the closest place that had a ScoutMob deal (50% of up to $10), we checked it out. How is the parking? We went on a Sunday, so the parking right in front of the building was free. Parking is not a joke in this area. NEVER think that you could stop by Starbucks, then walk over to get a bite to eat (just some knowledge I have picked up over the years). If it were during the week, it would be on the meter or you would have to walk a few blocks and pray that Park Atlanta is not overstepping their bounds (as they sometimes do). Ordering? You order at the cashier station when you first walk into the store. It is a little cramped and could be confusing if there are more than 2 people waiting. Options? ] They have salads, pizza slices, whole 'regular pizzas', Sicialian style pizza, stromboli & calzone. If you want to pick your own toppings, it can get a little pricey. What did you get? We got the pizza style of the Meat Mania. There were 6 very large slices on the pie that is clumsily placed on a wire frame if you are sitting at the long counter. If someone is not careful when they are walking by, your pizza could easily slip off of the table. If you are not very careful when grabbing your next slice, it could also slide off and be on the floor or on you. How did you like it? There was too much darn meat on the pizza. It is not a good blend. When I bite into the food, I like to experience a combination of everything that makes it a meal. All I tasted was a bunch o' meat. I would have been satisfied if they removed about 75% of the meat from the pie. Also, it could stand to be held in the oven a little longer. The bread was soft. There was not a good meat/cheese ratio. Because it was SO MUCH meat on top of meat, it was not well done, the meat was nearly soggy. We asked them to put it back in the oven, which they accomodated without major issue. Would I go back? Eh... likely not. If I were in the area and could not make it somewhere else if I wanted pizza. But, not driving there intentionally, not recommending to any friends - HEY... you gotta check THIS out! Value I paid $17 for a whole pizza (at 50% off) and a drink. WHAT WOULD IT BE IF NOT ON A SCOUTMOB DEAL???

If you want real Sicilian NY pizza, this is it. Got a meat-o-mania Sicilian to go. Staff was super friendly and pizza was ready quickly, even though they were busy. First of all, this pizza was huge! And delicious! Quality toppings and a crispy, thick, square crust. They also offer by-the-slice, which seems to be what a lot of people were ordering. If they didn't close at 10 on week nights, this would be a great late night place.

Got my free piece of 'za (as Michael Scott would say) thanks to these guys and ScoutMob. Free tastes good, but so did this - I rode there on my bike so (note to self) the ride back was little uncomfortable with a belly full of pizza, but it was worth it. Right near Utrecht's.

As close to a NY slice as you're gonna get in Atlanta. And trust me, I've tried many places....

I stopped in Vinny's one evening to check it out. I've walked by many times but never stopped in and I don't know why! I had a simple cheese slice and it was actually really yummy. The size of the slice is definitely New York style. I also noted the freshness of the cheese. It wasn't plastic-tasting or weird, it was real cheese. The price for two people: One slice cheese, one pepperoni, and two drinks was just above $11.00 which was great on the budget :)

My #1 pizza joint in Midtown, if not Atlanta. Big foldable slices, great fresh toppings, fast and excellent service. Oh yeah, and amazingly affordable. They have a pretty decent beer selection as well. Howard, the guy running this joint, used to be part of the Fellini's crew, so it's not hard to understand why his pizza is so amazing.

Awesome pizza, about as authentic as you get outside of Italy. Good prices, friendly staff, clean restaurant.

This was possibly the worst pizza I have ever tasted. I ordered a regular slice of pepperoni & black olives and a pepperoni Sicilian slice. Both slices were super greasy!! There was a layer of oil just sitting on top of the pizza. There was so much oil that it went through the bottom of the pizza box. The black olives were NOT baked into the pizza, but looked as if they were thrown on top as an afterthought. Maybe they forgot that the black olives belonged on this order, but they were not warm, melted into the pizza or anything. I could've opened my own can of olives and propped them on top. The pepperoni was not fresh. Super processed. The Sicilian slice was a tad better, but only because there was so much bread to absorb the oil. I'm sad that I missed out on using the scout mob app. But on a good note, it seems like a pretty good atmosphere and it's located in a really nice part of town. Should've noted that this wasn't my best food option in the area as there were only 2 men sitting at the bar talking to the cook. Needless to say, I will not be back!

Alright, so they have scoutmob you can use and you'll get a free slice of pizza! Regardless free or not, I think this is a great local place to eat. The food is great, the place is clean and it seems to be a mom and pops type of place. One time I was there and this grown man dropped what seemed to be a wad of cash, and the employee ran to him and handed is money back. Although the customer was oblivious the employee was quite observant and very....ethical. So I like it there, they have great food and they seem to be good and honest people!!!

My pizza was delicious, the staff was super friendly, and I loved the atmosphere. Simple, clean, yet welcoming. Vinnie seems to know everyone in the neighborhood! Also, Vinnie's pizza magically made my hangover disappear... and it was a bad one. Like, bad. Go there for the friendly service, the tasty pizza by the slice, and get the added bonus of feeling better after a night of binge drinking. You're welcome.

Good free slice of pizza, thanks Scoutmob! Great NY style slice of pizza, thin crisp crust, perfect mix of sauce and cheese. I would like to try the caprese pizza, it looks awesome. If you are going for a slice of pizza at a good price, Vinny's is your place.

As a native of Northern New Jersey, I'm more than familiar with "good," "real," and/or "New York style" pizza. Having lived in Atlanta for the last 17 years, I have to say I've had very few encounters with any of the aforementioned adjectives as they relate to my pizza experiences! But Vinny's does a really good job! Slices are tasty and the toppings yummy. The whole crew always gives us a warm welcome when we enter! The staff, the service and the overall experience is pizza parlor perfect!

  • Susann O.

Its one of the best pizzas in town, seriously. Its not as fast as some other places, but its worth the wait. Its better than fellinis. The interiour and atmosphere in this place is not like an italian restaurant, more like a fast food store, but thats perfectly fine. Their salad is great as well.

    (5)
  • Amber R.

I really liked the pizza I got here. Both the sicilian and normal crusts were good - but since they were so generous with the toppings I probably didn't really even taste the crust that much. I will definitely go back - with or without a scoutmob. The caesar salad was great too!

Love their pizza! Truly New York Style. If you need pizza by the slice this is the go to place!

  • Aric F.

If you are aiming for NY-style pizza, this is right down the center. It is good enough to impart spontaneous cravings weeks after last eating it. I almost always get pepperoni, mushroom, and meatballs. The meatballs are sliced thin and get slightly crisped and taste fantastic. The crust is on the thin and sweet side. We always get a made-to-order pie. I have tried to be responsible and get two slices by-the-slice rather than a whole pie and be tempted to churn through half of it in one sitting, but the "reheat with after-thought toppings" approach just doesn't stack up to the perfection of getting your custom pie moments after it came out of the oven the first time. We have had to ration ourselves down to one trip to Vinny's a month (ok, maybe every three weeks, with exceptions granted for special occasions and acute cravings) for fear of gaining 50 pounds in a few months. But, I can think of no other way I would rather tie on 1500 calories.

  • Jeff M.

FINALLY!!! This is pretty darn good pizza. It reminds me in every way of New York pizza by the slice and strikingly brings me back to the neighborhood pizza place by my old home in Long Island, of which I have fond memories. The size, dough, crust, dimension, texture, crisp, taste, and greasiness, it's spot on. Vinny's is bringing back childhood memories but in a good way! This is the closest thing to New York style pizza we have in Atlanta. And it's about freaking time! (I would now like to take this opportunity so say the following: GO YANKEES!!!!)

I heard that the pizza here was good and I was looking forward to trying it as a quick bite to eat, but honestly, I didn't even get a chance to eat here. When I walked in, the atmosphere was pretty quiet. Being a first-time customer, I didn't see the "place your order" sign above the cashier (which is placed way too high for anyone to actually see). I walked up to the counter and asked whether my friend and I should seat ourselves. The cashier (a girl with her hair in two braids who looked like "Miss Dunkin Donuts 2003" from the movie Love Actually) didn't even speak a word to me. She simply glared at me and pointed right above her; a glance from my peripheral vision would have made me think that she was giving me the finger. Also, the menu on the wall had no descriptions of the food. I had no idea, for example, what kinds of ingredients were on "the Works" pizza versus another one. There were no paper menus for me to look at to figure out the ingredients either. My friend and I walked out after about one minute, going down the street to Antico's instead. Even there was about a 30-minute wait at Antico's, at least we didn't have to deal with a glaring, unfriendly cashier waiting for us to give our order. Management: please train your cashier to be more friendly. Also, the website on this site does not work and I highly recommend creating a valid link if you want more business.

This is the best pizza I have had in the area by far. I honestly think it is better than Antico or Fellinis. Our favorites are a plain, good 'ol cheese and the Hawaiian. My boyfriend and I will call ahead to pick up an order and its ready, hot and delicious in 15 minutes. Parking to dine in is tough to find, but if you are picking up they have 15 minute parking spots right out front. Staff is always friendly and courteous. Mmmmm I want one for dinner just thinking about it now :)

Hands down the best pizza place in midtown. The crust is always perfect, the sauce to cheese ratio is always on point. And whether you get a whole pie, just a slice or even their salads, I promise you'll be IMPRESSED!!!!

We ordered a Large caprese and a large veggie pizza and the order arrived fairly quickly. The Caprese was mildly flavored and the tomato was juicy and the cheese was good. The basil flavor didnt come through. Both the pizza's seemed to be NY style, thin, foldable and crisp with toppings. But neither had salt! We had to season both the pizza with good helping of salt/oregano/chili flakes! The veggie pizza had plenty of vegetables, but some of them didnt feel very fresh. An ok experience...

Went to Vinny's today for lunch with my co-workers and I have to say, the pepperoni pizza was sooo yummy! To make it even better, I had a scoutmob deal for a FREE slice so it was a win-win today! Will def be back soon!

I have to admit that I was a naysayer as I watched the sign go up for this place. There are just tons of places in Atlanta, nay the country, that will say things like "Tony's Authentic New York Style _____" or "Paulie's Best Phillie Style ____"...it's just kinda stereotypical, and frankly, hokey. And worse, they usually suck. And suck hard. So when I saw this place getting renovated after my OC ZPizza closed up shop here (damn hippies!) in Midtown, I had the jaded thought of "great, an expensive and probably not very tasty non-option for dinner." But really, after having gotten takeout from here over 5 times, I have to admit it's gone above and beyond my expections. Real NY style pizza? Not quite. Very good pizza that's quick and close by that I would order over the chains? And even over Cameli's, since I can just pick up from Vinny's, as opposed to wait for delivery? This Lady Chinky Eyes says YES, absolutely! Sauce isn't too sweet, the crust isn't too thick and has a good chew, and not gummy. And who knew, the salads here are really good when I'm just too busy and hooongry to make my own, and very affordable too. The $5 house salad is great, really good size, and I was able to add chicken for a couple more bucks. Take that, Fresh 2 Order - you guys are good, but I'm not paying over $11 for one of your salads again anytime soon. I'm still not a fan of the name (is there even a Vinny?), but this place is pretty good.

  • Evelyn S.

Seems like a great place for a pizza place. Walking in, it smells wonderful! You can watch them prepare your meal from the bar stools. Problems seems to mainly be a disinterested cashier. Luckily, I found a few "to go"menus with descriptions resting on the bar. Sadly, they were more help than her. Pizza is good but the salad was lack-luster. Perhaps, I simply ordered the wrong thing.

Tried this place yesterday, and I was pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed the pepperoni slice and it was great. I also tried the Sicilian slice and wasn't too excited. Im sure I will stick to the regular slice. All in all I enjoyed it and would come back.

Color me impressed! I can't believe I actually found a great "NY style" pizzeria in the South! You could drop it right into NYC and no one would know the difference. Thin crust, with just the right amount of mozzarella and tomato paste. The staff is also very friendly and nice. I definitely recommend it to anyone who wants an authentic slice of pizza.

I've been to this place several times and have been impressed each and every time. Recently someone that is really close to me went to jail for 2 days and when they were released this is where they wanted to go. Vinny's staff stayed open late so she could have a slice and a salad, that was awesome. Next time you're in Midtown go to 7th street and get a slice and throw a dollar in their tip bucket.

I love NY pizza, and it is hard to find it done right in Atlanta. This place does it right. Very authentic...tastes exactly like the pizzas I've had in pizzerias in NY, which is what you should want and expect if you eat here. It is in Scoutmob, which is nice but would normally be priced about the same as other non-chain pizza joints. I love pizza places that will sell by the slice, as this one does...any time of day. Would definitely go back and would recommend to others looking for a clean, reasonably priced, tasty "NY" pizzeria.

  • Michael B.

finally, a great pizza option in Midtown. I've been waiting for them to open for weeks and was happy to drop in after work one might this week. service was solid. pizza options were plentiful. things were all fresh and cover my "special" from end to end. an excellent addition to the neighborhood. look for a patio to arrive when spring arrives! great job, Vinny. my only suggestion for Vinny....ditch the plastic ware and go with real silverware...the delicious Sicilian slice was too hard to eat in a suit with the sorry plastic knife and fork.

These people like what they do and it shows! I enjoyed the staff, they were exceptionally personable, even though the store was closing. They were patient with us, and talked to us as if we really mattered. It definitely made a difference. And oh yeah, the pizza was great too!!

If you are looking for a great NY style pizza in Atl, this is your place. After moving here in early Nov. this was a great treat to find!! I love a great greasy pizza...in a good way...and this is just what I needed.

  • Janora H.

My husband went here when it first opened and gave it a "meh". He compared it to Sabarros. Colleagues at work raved about it, so tonight we gave it another try. We ordered a Caesar salad and Caprese pizza. Caesar was really good - hence the 2 stars. However, the pizza was a disaster. The toppings were really bland, but worse than that the entire center of the pizza was completely mushy. Even with a fork, it was difficult to eat. It's a shame because we live a block away and I really like supporting the mom and pop pizza places, but i doubt we'll try it again.

Vinny's is a great place to get pizza and the deals on pizza by the slice have made it a great lunch location for me. The quality of the food is always really great and the prices are very reasonable. Surprisingly there is never more than a few people there and in effect has a simple quite environment.

Yay! I found my go to local pizza place! I have been here twice now. I've been to quite a few around the city and never was really satisfied. But thank goodness I came across Vinny's. The first time I ordered "The Vinny Special". It was amazing. Last night I ordered the Hawaiian Calzone. So good! There ingredients seem very fresh. This has become my go to pizza place!

Parking: Deck is validated for 1 hour or 15 min on the street Setup: Order at the counter. Dish will be brought to your table. Food: 1 slice Vinny Special & 1 slice the Works (~$10 w/ tax). These slices were super filling and had a nice crispy crust. I enjoyed the Works better than the Vinny Special. Service: Great staff at the counter.

I live very near to Vinnys. Whenever I'm in the mood for pizza I stop in. I love their cheese calzones. Super tasty. They also offer pizza by the slice which is good when u are by yourself. Slices are pretty big also.

WOW sone seriously good pizza and friendly service. One huge slice of Meat O Mania and I was stuffed. We had to get out of the tourist area around The Atlanta Aquarium and Coke to get something good finally. If we were from the area this would be my go to for pizza.

Grabbed dinner here on a Sunday evening. The food was really good. The portions are large. They have a large selection of beers and drinks are self serve from a soda fountain. Free parking for a hour. Scoutmob available as well.

Good casual place for a slice of pizza. Not artisanal, but not Pizza Hut either. It's most akin to Fellini's, minus some of the grease. One thing that's particularly good here is that their crust is nice and crispy. Not chewy like it's been reheated, and not too crispy where it tastes burnt. It's a good medium. There is validated parking in the deck next to it. This is the parking for Spire Condos, and you can park anywhere that is in the retail section (first 2 floors).

I got a custom Sicilian pizza. This isn't going to be my longest review by any means. It is pizza for goodness gracious. I would like to come back and try a standard NY style pizza instead of the Sicilian. I didn't know what I was getting myself into and I wasn't a huge fan. The cheese and sauce was great. The topping weren't my favorite. The service was good and the pickup time was as promised. I realize this is pretty vanilla and doesn't give you much, but so was the pizza. Like I said, I would like to try the standard. The Sicilian is way to bready.

    (3)
  • Stephen R.

The closest thing to NY pizza by the slice I've found in ATL. The crust is not doughy or limp. It's perfectly crunchy and this is a slice you can properly fold and eat.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
