i had always went to the tin drum in tech square (the one on 5th street), but came to this one for dinner instead one evening after shopping with joyce l. like she said, this experience was rather frightening. when we walked in, there was a harsh smell that was a mix of chemicals (ex: bathroom cleaner) and just plain....bathroom. it was gross, but at that point, we were hungry and we figured it would be a quick meal - so we would just be in and out within 20 minutes. half of the lights also either were a) not working or b) turned off for some reason, so it was dim and had a dingy appearance. when we got up to the cash register to order, the cashier tried (very unsuccessfully) to make small talk, which we tried to entertain awkwardly for about a minute or two to be polite. come on - we just want to order our food! we are not interested in dating you or listening to your uncomfortable attempts at flirting. his jokes were awkward, not funny, and were very strange. when we finally managed to relieve ourselves of the world's most uncomfortable experience (i realize i've used the word uncomfortable many times in this review - but there really is no other way to describe it), we sat down and waited for our food. we waited an insanely long time before we saw the waiter / busboy come out of the kitchen with two bowls. he looked around the dining area, did a quick pass-by, literally SHRUGGED HIS SHOULDERS, and put the bowls back on the counter. he didn't even bother to ask around, or see if anybody (out of the 2 occupied tables) was missing their food. my friend went up to the counter, grabbed our bowls of food, and brought them back to our table. of course, the food was just mediocre. it's amazing to see the difference in food quality and preparation between this tin drum and the one on 5th street. although that location doesn't always have stellar, amazing food, i feel assured of their cleanliness and ability to run a decent restaurant. obviously, we didn't leave a tip. first of all, nobody brought our food to our table. if i had wanted something self-serve, i would have gone to a buffet or cooked for myself at home. second of all, nobody came to ask us how our food was, or to check up on us. horrible dining experience overall. i will definitely not be returning to this tin drum for sure.

I have NO complaints about this place. I LOVE the service, the food, and just the place in general. the Pad Thai is my favorite. I've been here numerous times since I moved to the city, and will keep on going as long as they are there!

I ordered pineapple fried rice and 1 word to describe it: yuck. And it was ridiculously expensive for just a regular fried rice.

The Chinese and Japanese food are not authentic but appear to be the only choice in this walking area. The Thai food here is a better choice. Would have given a 2 star on food quality but given the wide selection I've upgraded to a 3. Service and environment are probably 3 stars given the price.

I give it 3 stars for the convenience factor for someone who lives close by. When I crave some Asian taste and don't feel like driving up to Buford, which happens all the time, i go here. The food of course isn't authentically Asian, but they have a nice selection. They have a mix of common Thai and Chinese dishes. I recommend the Tom Yum noodle soup if you feel like something hot. The veggie spring roll is very good, better than the ones from usual Chinese take out places. I also enjoy the thai iced tea for when I have a sweet tooth.

Initially! I thought the computer based ordering was an easy option. However, I found the menu overwhelming, requiring lots of clicks and drill downs. All I wanted was hot and sour soup and Cantonese noodles (listed on the hard copy menu with beef and bok choy). After clicking and scrolling through half a dozen lists, I found Cantonese noodles and completed my order. I sat outside and my soup came quickly. Tin Drum offers only a large bowl size, which is too much for one person. After a few spoonfuls, I pushed the bowl away. It was too salty to eat. I just couldn't enjoy it. My Cantonese noodles came with chicken, broccoli, and green beans. Surprised, I got up and checked the posted menu, which read beef and bok choy. I went back to my table and checked my receipt, which read chicken and asstd veggies. Because of the convoluted computer menu, I ordered the wrong Cantonese noodles, a combo that is NOT on the printed menu. The noodles were non-descript with a slightly sweet sauce. There were only a few vegetables, maybe 1/3c. What a disappointment for a $9 entree. I had to dig to find the green beans, which were chopped into tiny pieces. The chicken was dry and not seasoned. As I struggled through my meal, I wished I had eaten across the way at Moe's.

I thought these kinds of fast-casual places were all doing decent salads now? The "chop-chop salad" was a pile of pale iceberg lettuce, some shriveled, sodden leaves of darker lettuce, a few strips of carrot, and a tablespoon of dressing on the side. It's rare that I'm ever angry about having just spent a few dollars on lunch, but I want my $4 back. The place doesn't smell great, it's never all that clean-looking, and it's not that fast. It's not worth eating here, even for $4.

There are dozens of more authentic, pan-Asian (is that an oxymoron?) places around Atlanta. But, if you're in Atlantic Station, this place works well. I had the hot and sour soup (average) and the shrimp tempura flatbread roll (very tasty, especially with miso honey mustard - who knew?).

The last three times I have been there they have given me chicken instead of tofu. I have worked in food service before so I always make it a point to explain what I do and do not want very clearly while also always leaving a good tip. Still, they have managed to give me chicken three separate times. The food tastes good, the prices are okay but the employees seem like they don't care. I thought third time would be a charm. Never again. Check your food before leaving, they are careless!

Well I will start by saying I have been to Atlantic Station a few times with my boyfriend and have walked by the tin drum. I have been excited about going here for awhile. Therefore I will share my experience with you. Come, walk with me..... I open the door to tin drum, wow it's small, but got some cool decorations, oh I guess these two people that are sitting on the bar stools staring at me like their wondering what and why the hell did I come in and interrupt there conversation, work here. The girl who walks annoyedly behind the counter says "hi my name is eat *hit and die...How can I help you *uck off today." Ok, so she didn't actually say that, but her face and actions did. I ordered for my son and myself, and waited for my boyfriend to add his order to the pot. I felt like I was supposed to order something else, like I wasted her time by not ordering enough. So enough of that, we pay and get our drinks and sit down. No sooner than I sit down is the waiter putting my food in front of me. So right away I know this food is already cooked and just thrown on the grill to reheat. Fast food Thai, Yah!!! Not so much! So we all get our food, sweet & sour chicken, sesame chicken, and pad Thai, simple dishes that are virtually impossible to screw up. But Tin Drum went out of their way to accomplish this goal. Then again none of the cooks were Thai, oriental, Asian, Chinese, Korean, or even philippino. My boyfriends chicken wasn't even cooked all the way, my pad Thai tasted like it was out of a box. Actually I bet the pad Thai in the box at Wal-Mart is better than this! This has to be the worst Thai or any kind of oriental/Asian food I have had. Since I was done I sat and watched this waitress and waiter continues to sit and talk and be annoyed when customers came in. The waitress just had this disgusted look on her the face the whole time. I watched her go outside and clean a table and pick up all the dirty dishes with her hands and fingers all over and in the dirty dishes someone just ate out of. She brought those in dropped them off, then went to the counter to pick up the next customers food. Her fingers and hands that were just cleaning and in someone's empty bowl, was now in someone's clean full bowl as she carried it across the room. No tray, just fingers all in the bowl. And then she continued to toss the bowl over to the customer like, here is this *hit yours, and walked away. I agree the portions are decent, but does it matter when your service and food sucks! I have heard that other locations are a bit better, but after my experience here why even bother! Btw the fountain drinks were good, but that's about the only thing they got going for them.

The rating above reflects the poor service and bad attitude of the cashier at this location. I have had many pleasant experiences at Tin Drum at other locations. Upon arrival, the cashier barely greeted us and didn't even smile. I ordered the Basil Fried Rice like always however, the rice was undercooked and the basil was absent. Not planning on returning to this location.

Whatzzzzzz all the fuss! I like Tin Drum...even though I always get the same thing...I like the crab cheese rolls and the Pad Thai noodle..hhhhmmmmmm. I always order for pickup because I keep it moving to my home and plus I get 15% percent off with my A CARD! YAH! My food is always hott and fresh and ready to go once I arrive...I like it.

I have never been so eager to get home and write a negative review than I've been after eating at Tin Drum in Atlantic Station. I ordered the veggie samosa and a spring roll. I can honestly say that the spring roll was the worst I've ever had. I went to work on my mini samosas and after eating 2.5 of the 5, I noticed a weird texture. I opened the shell and noticed a meaty substance. I slid my plate over to my friend and asked her to confirm what I already know. She wasn't sure either. We asked the server, who went on to tell me that the veggie samosas were filled with only veggies. He almost made us feel crazy for actually thinking there was meat in it. (I mean really. Who puts meat in a veggie samosa?) BUT, I wasn't satisfied with his answer and asked him to double check with the cook. The server returned to tell me that there was indeed chicken in the samosa. Apparently they switched the recipe out. *&!^*#&^@(!*&@(*&!)(@#!(*^&^@#&!*!@)(*! Seriously. After asking for my money back, the server acted as though I was in the wrong for asking for ALL of my money back. I actually felt I deserved what I'd spent plus some. Emotional damages, ya' know? I asked to speak with the manager and I was told he wasn't there but could speak with the man at the counter. My friend decided to do the dirty work and confront him about the situation, only to find that he hardly spoke English. On top of the chicken-in-my-samosa fiasco, the wait was ridiculous and the ladies bathroom was out of order. When I finally went into the men's room, it was out of tissue, confirming that Tin Drum doesn't give a sh*t.

Dance party USA. Yeah, not exactly, but the dance club hits kept me swaying in my chair! Sadly, that was the saving grace of this restaurant. Cheap and easy Asian cuisine it was, which made it easy to flip the bill when I paid on a double date after going through the bodies exhibit. I had the Pad Thai Chicken, it was kinda lack luster, somewhat tasteless and lacking the heat that I like. After several rounds of dabs of Sriracha Sauce, I downed my dish with ease. I did have a taste of the Vietnamese Pho, which was really tasty, and sad that I didn't order it instead. The interior is really nice, sterile, and clean. The kitchen area some what reminded me of the boy-in-the-bubble, as you can see through the orange colored Plexiglas as the staff cooks up the meal. Oh yeah, management may want to take a look at the men's room toilet. It doesn't properly flush! Fellas, if you are the type that takes a dump in public, beware of this toilet- it may not flush all the way. Three stars for being mediocre, but one of the best, cheap and easy restaurants in Atlantic Station.

Super slow service even when only 2 people in the restaurant. Crispy chicken potstickers were good, although small. Doubtful if I'd come back again with so many other choices in Atlantic Station.

I first reviewed this location back in February of 2010 after a coworker turned me on to it. I used to love it! Since then- I have watched it go slowly downhill. If this location doesn't get it's act together, I'm afraid it will turn off customers and go out of business like so many others have at Atlantic Station. - cashier doesn't greet you. Just stares at you and waits for you to order. - silverware bins are typically low, if not empty - smell- standing at the coke fountain- there is an extremely foul smell coming from the back area. I don't know if it's the restroom or what, but it's a huge turnoff. Not very appetizing. -price. About a year ago, prices went up about 5-10%. At the same time, portion size went down. They are using smaller bowls and in my observation, typical portion size is about 25% less than what it used to be. This location has even begun skimping on rice (just like the location off of lindbergh that I quit going to for the same reason). From a true fan of the original restaurant....I hope things improve.

It reminds me of when I use to walk the streets in Europe and could always count on a fast food version of good food not greasy and regretful the next day, It could use more spices, but overall to only wait ten minutes for a good pasta dish in which comes out in a generous portion for under or near 10 bucks, I'm a happy woman. Only been once, so who knows what the rest of the menu has in store for me or for that matter you. Had the pad thai noodle, would prefer to be a bit more spicy and I got the feeling if I asked I would have received, but was on my ways for the movies

I have eaten here several times because I stay near Atlantic Station and well, if you've ever battled ATL traffic, you know that if you can walk some where to do anything, you should. This place presents itself as some sort of generic Asian restaurant, serving things that are named after Thai/Japanese/Chinese dishes, but Tin Drum shoots just to the left of all of these things. Nothing is authentic, it is basically Americanized Asian food that doesn't even taste all that great. It appears to be a chain that is moderately popular, but the employees are consistently lethargic and almost never get orders right, so it is curious as to why people (myself included) continue to eat there. I will not miss the food from here once my stint in Atlanta ends.

Tin Drum has new locations are sprouting up everywhere... i hate to love a chain but i really appreciate this new location coz it brings life to the Atlantic Station where there is too many restaurants I dont really care about.. the decor is the same - lime green and orange, same artwork, same type of tables and chairs, which is kinda boring since this is the fifth or sixth restaurant.. :( well this one has a big orange transparent wall for their version of an open kitchen, which is kinda cool Now the food is the reason you come here, fast, decent, cheap, filling. and theres tofu options as well. Service is occasionally bad which seems to be simultaneously true in all its outlets these days... owwwwwww, they have made it to the lifeless corporate world of a fast food chain!!! Love it or hate it i leave the verdict up to you.

I'm not exactly a pad thai connoisseur, but I thought it was good. Tin Drum is a pretty decent place if you're at Atlantic Station and you're in the mood for some noodles. Not a huge menu, but there's some good stuff on there. And they cook pretty fast. Dining area is clean. I like it. And be sure to put some kind of tip on there when you order, because they will bus the table when you leave.

I live in Atlantic station so it's very easy for me to walk here. There aren't any other choice of Asian food so u are pretty much stuck eating here if u want Asian food. The food isn't bad but not great. The curries are decent. The beef pho isn't very good but for the price it's not bad if u don't want to drive to Buford hwy. the service is non existent. When u are ordering from the screen they almost make u feel like u need to add tips. The screen shows 10%, 15%, 20% tip. I always tip here but don't like to be forced to tip in a fast food atmosphere where there is no service except they just bring the food out to u.

I typically visit this location on my way to catch a movie at the Regal in Atlanta Station. The service is excellent, the food is tasty. I had chicken for the first time, in the future, I'll stick with shrimp.

It's basically a sit-down restaurant that serves fast food asian fusion. Great for a quick bite when you're having an odd craving for "Americanized" asian food.

Decent Asian fusion for the $. I stop in here for the basil chick fried rice. The tikka-masala can be overwhelming and is not Indian-restaurant style. The Pho could be better with more fresh herbs.

Not bad. This place is more Thai than any other Asian cuisine. They have huge portions for a small price, which is always nice. If you're not really big eaters then one dish can feed two. It's definitely enough for my husband and me. Not knowing how big the portions were, we ordered the Pad Thai with Chicken and Green Curry with Chicken. The Pad Thai was average, nothing special. I guess it was good enough for the price. I've definitely had better pad thai, but of course for more $$. If average hotel buffets had pad thai then this is what it would taste like: lots of noodles, bland sauce/flavor, taste like it was made in bulk. The green curry with chicken, on the other hand was pretty good. I'm normally a green curry fan when I go out for Thai. I would say the green curry is pretty up to par with pricier Thai restaurants. I actually think it might be better than Top Spice. It was thick, flavorful and it had all the vegetables that I normally like such as green beans and bamboo shoot. I will definitely order the green curry again when I go back. So if you're looking for Thai for cheap Tin Drum is the way to go.

I went to Tin Drum at the Atlantic Station last Sunday 12/23/12 (I was vacationing in Atlanta with family for the holidays) with my mother and nieces and nephews. The curry sauce was good and the fried rice was pretty good too. The chicken was terrible - it tastes like it was precooked or came from a packaged and it was reheated in the microwave - it was tough, hard, and extremely dry. I only got 4 pieces of chicken nuggets with a big bowl of rice. My nieces and nephews order brown rice and it was terrible too. When I tasted the brown rice it was cold, hard and dry as if it was a week old. I told the restaurant manager what I thought of the food and that I thought it wasn't fresh. He just smiled and didn't seem apologetic at all. Also, our food sat on the kitchen shelf for several minutes before they brought it to our table. They didn't even bring silverware and I had to go up to the counter and stand in line to ask for the spoons/forks so we could eat our food. The service was slow, disorganized, the chicken and brown rice was TERRIBLE and the inside of my chicken was cold (so they only heated the outside of my chicken bits). I will NEVER go back again. Terrible service. $40 went to waste. ALSO they mopped the floor near our table when we were trying to eat our food and all we could smell was Pine Sol and bleach - it ruined our meal and we left feeling sick!!!!

tin drum tin drum is pretty kool. its a fast foodish type asian place. they have a decent menu selection and its not to pricy at all. went there today with a friend of mine. i got the mango fried chicken stir fry with peppers and basil. it was rather tasty who would have expected actual mango chunks and not just mango sauce. my companion got some noodle dish not sure but it was a bit spicy for his taste. very tasty but spicy. i also got one of the apps which were like fried dumplings. they were delicious also. the atmostphere inside was quite nice. not to loud or busy with some decent totally not typical asian dining music. however very nice.... the only downside to the hole thing was the employees running around having a good time with themselves. not very professional i would say. but ehhhh w/e. the food was great and i would go back for sure. my mean the entree and app was only a lil over 10 bux. and that is awesome.

I had the Vietnamese Pho noodle soup with roast beef and my friend had the udon noodles with ham. My soup was salty and tasted like some powder packet from ramen noodles. The bean sprouts and white onions were raw. The roast beef was plentiful but I was afraid to know what it was made out of. I prefer the real slices of beef, not some imitation processed meat. My friend's udon noodles were very spicy. Pros: large portions; affordable prices; refillable fountain drinks; good sweet and unsweet teas Cons: salty, unnatural tasting seasoning; plenty of noodles but not enough vegetables/meats This is just another wanna be Asian food restaurant; if you want Asian food in Midtown Atlanta, I suggest you go to a real Asian restaurant like Buddha Restaurant or some restaurants near off Buford Highway. This was a new restaurant that I wanted to try. This was my first and will be the last time I will eat there.

4 stars only because this is the first time i ate asian food since i got to hotlanta ... it's not really asian food though, more like americanized asian food...think pick up stix or panda express. i had the tin drum curry house special thing..delish! if you like americanized asian food - you'll like everything on the menu, but if not...well, you most likely won't go back.

So after hearing lots about the chain of asian cuisine popping up all over the city I had to check it out. Went to Atlantic Station to try out Tin Drum. Walking in the set up was a cross of fast food and sit down resturant. I ordered the Udon noodle with ham and chile. The place was pretty dead so it did come quickly. If you like spicy this is the place. it was ok at best, I'd have rathered had the udon at Doc Cheys instead but the portion was fair to the price. I would have given a 3 but the unprofessionalism of the staff was really putting me off my meal. They would just hangout where ever they so felt, talk really loud, bringing constant attention on themselves. Thats fine if they are customers but when you're at work even if its at a fast food type place there is a level of mature behavior you should keep yourself at when paying guests are around. I dont wanna see you chase eachother around and laugh obnoxiously. Im not getting paid to be there and I am surprised you are. Food was on par but the service was just completely lacking.

Unexpectedly decent lunch of drunken noodles. I say unexpected because of the relatively low rating Tin Drum has garnered so far. I was drawn to eat here by a coupon flyer and because of a rare visit to Atlantic Station (IMAX movie). As it turned out, I didn't even use the coupon because they are running a special on the drunken noodles. Really nice balance of spices, including a bit of heat, perfectly cooked vegetables such as broccoli, tasty chicken bits, excellent noodles. Space is nice enough for a semi-fast meal and the service was efficient.

Tin Drum provides a clean and decent environment to come and enjoy a fairly nice Asian style dish. The food is great, at least the Pad Thai is. It is a little on the high end for what you get I believe. The portions are fair. Big enough to fill you up but not so big that you fill over stuffed. The meals came out fairly quick so if you need a decent meal fairly quickly without having to eat fast food then this is always a best bet. Overall, I'm happy with my meal and experience! P.S. The orange and mango juice is worth it!

Tin Drum Asiacafe is an Asian fusion chain in Atlanta. The review reflects on the Atlantic Station location. On the menu are several noodle dishes, including Pad Thai, curry dishes, and chicken dishes. I've eaten at Tin Drum on Georgia Tech's campus and here - and the experience here doesn't match up to the one at Tech. The location feels a little less clean and less welcoming than the Tech location. Not exactly sure why this is. In general, Tin Drum dishes are very Americanized. This time, I ordered the Chicken Pad Woon Sen noodles. The dish was definitely on the salty side. Chicken pieces were chewy. Vegetables were okay. I enjoy eating at the other Tin Drum location - just not the biggest fan of the one in Atlantic Station.

You know, you are seriously A-OK Tin Drum! In an asian food bind, I really did enjoy what you had to offer :) For someone who lives in the area, I very rarely eat here...my badddd! Their menu consists of a gazillion things and I am like the most indecisive person every, so of course it took me 15min to order (I absolutely let everyone cut my in line until I was ready). I settled on the panang curry. The curry was a little on the thin side and too sweet, but had some pretty good flavors. the chicken was abundant and so were the veggies (though, I wouldve liked my veggies cooked a tad longer). I also ordered take-out and the turn around was SUPER FAST CAT (and complete with all the *correct* utensils and hot sauce)! I'll definitely be back--likely for the basil fried rice that my friend @Sara L. is obsessedddddd with!

Tin Drum has changed so much in the past few years, at least in terms of menu. It's always been a hodgepodge of various flavors in Asian cuisine - is it Chinese? Thai? vietnamese? Eh - sort of, I'd say Americanized Asian fusion is the best way to describe Tin Drum. I stepped in the other day craving a few old favorites only to find that they're no longer on the menu (bring back the drum rolls please!) - they'd been replaced by tacos. Tacos at an Asian (ish) restaurant? A little odd, but they feature traditional "Asian" flavors, so it's not completely out of left field. In fact, I enjoyed them a lot more than I thought I would! For just under $2 each, the tacos are fairly sizeable and stuffed with rice, cabbage slaw, and they didn't skimp on the meat protein (I chose the Teriyaki Chicken and Crispy Shrimp). In addition to the tacos, I ordered an old standby - the crab and cheese egg rolls - standard, but so good. I also had an order of the 'That Basil Roll' - another old favorite - but they were not so good. They were made pretty poorly, it came apart in my hands and the wrap was borderline soggy; plus they forget the dipping sauce, which is the best part! Overall, the service was decent - I was pretty impressed by how quickly my order was ready, but the prices have gone up a bit - For two tacos, and a few egg rolls, the total was $20 - I'd prefer spending that on Buford Highway!

It's been nearly 5 years since I wrote my original review for Tin Drum Atlantic Station. I think this restaurant is accurately rated at around 3 stars. I occasionally get take-out here since this place is close to my home. The Tin Drum on 5th St. was one of my favorite restaurants to eat at while going to school at Georgia Tech. I ate at the Tech Square location a lot, which I believe is also the original location. Tin Drum is Asian fast food. You aren't going to find the most authentic dishes here, but you will find a good variety of Asian foods of OK quality. I think the Thai dishes are some of their better dishes. Pricing is affordable at $7.49 to $7.99 for virtually all entrees. This is one of their strong points. My favorite dishes are: Pad Thai Basil Fried Rice Japanese Katsu Curry The Pad Thai consists of noodles, egg, sauteed chicken breast, bean sprouts, green onions, carrots, and crushed peanuts. Tin Drum's version is not bad and the chicken is fresh. The Basil Fried Rice is a reliable standby. It comes with egg, sauteed chicken breast, basil, white onion, green beans, scallions, peas, and carrots, and stir-fried in a savory brown sauce. Very good. The Japanese Katsu Curry has panko-crusted chicken breast in a yellow curry sauce with white onion, potatoes, carrots, and jalapenos. The curry is quite flavorful and hits the spot. This is a dense and hearty dish. I used to like the Tin Drum Curry, which is a chicken curry dish with spinach and crushed peanuts. However, I've found this dish to be very inconsistent. Most of the times, it's bland. Too much white rice and not enough other ingredients, namely curry. I would stay away from the noodle soups. They used to have ramen on the menu, but not anymore. The pho is a joke. If you want real pho, go to Buford Highway or Norcross/Duluth. Relatively new on the menu are Asian street tacos. It's nice to have that option. They're about $3.00 to $3.50 per. Service is generally good. They now have touchscreens so you can order yourself or you can order the traditional way at the register. Useless information: This is the one of the few restaurants I've encountered where the tip prints out on the final receipt.

After our nursing class finished with our tour at body worlds, my fiancee and I decided to try this place since it was right downstairs and it was something we couldn't get in Dublin, GA. We have a motto when we go out, and it's order something we can't get in town. Needless to say, I was disappointed. My friends in Houston always rave about "pho" and when I saw pho noodle soup on the menu, I got excited to finally try it. It reminded me something I could easily make at home. Boil up some vermicelli noodles in chicken/beef broth and add some sliced steak and jalepenos. I see now from the reviews that I should have avoided this dish and tried the pad thai. Oh well. My fiancee got the mango stir fry, and it was pretty good. I'd recommend it, although it did come with like 2 cups of rice and only like 6 pieces of bite sized chicken. I think the best thing I liked here was the fresh ginger ale. I wanted to try the passion fruit tea as well, but they informed me that they no longer offered it. Sad face. All in all, our two entrees and two drinks came out to a whopping $25. Next time I think I'll head down to the frozen section in Kroger and heat up some Tai Pei for $1 per container.

So I ordered the Thai coconut soup and the Sing Chow Men Noodles. It was cooked with a yellow curry sauce, stir-fry rice noodle, mushrooms, cabbage, carrots, onions, scallions, jalapenos, egg, and sautéed chicken. It definitely had a kick to it. I liked that, but was not satisfied with the dish. The noodles tasted like they could be cooked longer and the curry was a little grainy. I asked for a different dish instead. There was no problem swapping it out. I ordered the Pad Woon Sen Noodle. It had stir-fry clear rice noodle, mushrooms, carrots, cabbage, onions, scallions, bean sprouts, egg, and sautéed chicken. I really liked this dish. It was full of flavor and the noodles were excellent. The Thai coconut soup was nice and warm. I enjoyed my meal. Our meals were all served pretty quickly. The service was good. too.

Food is delicious, that being said...service is soooo slow! And the employees seem like the most laid back people I've ever seen with no sense of urgency. The Tin Drum Curry is the bomb is you don't mind a little coconut taste. You can't go wrong with any of the house dishes. I work in the area so I frequent it due to taste, just knowing I'm going to wait 20mins for it. But for real...they have to speed up the service.

Giving this place another try after falling sick last time. My sister ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala (her usual, she eats this once a week almost) and it came out and it tasted like it was drenched in salt. Vom. It was so horrible. Knowing what it usually tastes like, we ask them for another and the female register clerk talked back about how that's how it's supposed to taste instead of trying to work with me to get another. The male manager helped us out and let me order something else instead. He was nice, helpful, and quick. I know I'm not paying top dollar for food but I am paying for food, food I have certain expectations about and if it's not good, as a consumer I have the right to send it back. Seriously disappointed by the sassy register clerk. Just be helpful. Not that hard. Only adding another star for the manager who helped us.

This is a good "Asian" fast food join offering fresh food at Panda Express prices. I would not go with the expectation that you are going to find authentic pho or real street food here, but it's tasty and fresh which is a real win for a fast food restaurant in a mall.

So I was back in Atlantic Station, craving for a curry. I've ordered a Masaman curry and Thai tea. When the food arrived, the Masaman curry was sour, it felt like I was eating a sour Thai chicken soup, never had a sour Masaman curry before so, I've asked one of the staff if Masaman curry is supposed to be sour? and he said no, it should be sweet but not sour. Apparently the kitchen had made an error, so they made me another curry but Masaman style (whipped it up in few minutes), this was quite delicious. I ate the curry with extra rice. I would come back again.

Meh. The food was lackluster at best. Mango bowl with no mango?? Basil fried rice with no basil?? This makes no sense, I ate some of it, but this flavorless food will not have me visiting again. The little bit of fried egg was the best part of the lightly fried, dried chicken, non spicy Basil Fried rice. Basically I had a bowl of flavorless rice with huge chunks of dried chicken with cartilage still attached blah yuck boo! Fresh thai basil roll- decent only one piece of basil in it & the tamarind sauce was the correct flavor, plus on that point. Singapore Chow Men Noodle was decent flavor & correct consistency however if definitely wasn't spicy & the chicken was still not bite size pieces. Best thing I tried was the real ginger ginger ale. Even that wasn't amazing bc the price was absurd, $2.75 for 1 bottle? Upside, the waitress was nice, she answered our concerns politely ad brought some sliced mango out to our table.

Tin Drum is one of my fave places to eat. The Asian Nachos they used to serve were DELICIOUS and very spicy! My mouth and throat would burn with happiness each time I had them. PLEASE bring them back! I like the Atlantic Station location because they are consistent in their food production and quality and pretty good customer service. The Colony Square location needs to be more consistent in their food production.

This was my first time coming here and I must say the food I ordered was really good. The food arrived in a timely manner and hot. I ordered the pad Thai. The noodles have a bit of a chew to point of being al dente but that is fine because I don't like mushy noodles. The dish was mild and not spicy. A little lime juice punched up the flavor. I am addicted to their cream cheese and crab rolls! So yummy with the sweet and sour sauce. The place is spacious and clean. I really enjoyed my time here and food.

We stopped by here for a quick lunch after checking out the Bodies Exhibit upstairs. This was our first trip to Atlantic Station and we figured we'd try it out since they don't have a location back home in Nashville. I order the Cantonese Beef noodles with egg drop soup. My girlfriend had some sort of curry noodles with chicken and also the Tom ka soup. The soups came out first, and were cold. Like, not even room temperature, cold. We sent them back and they brought out new ones a little bit later. It was a little odd because they didn't seem surprised at all that something was wrong. Most employees seemed more interested in looking at their iPhones than actually working anyway. In fairness, the entrees were both good, but nothing mind blowing. Doubt we'll be back anytime soon.

Nuts and bolts: We wanted to grab a quick (emphasis on quick) dinner after catching up a movie. Order: Penang Curry, Crab and cheese spring rolls, Chicken teriyaki taco. Pros: Lots of outdoor seating. The crab and cheese spring rolls were AMAZING. Neutral: Penang curry was just OK. Needed a bit more meat. Cons: About everything else. First off, as I mentioned above, we wanted a QUICK dinner. That's cuz we didn't want to end up paying for parking after a long movie and dinner. It would have worked well IF our food had arrived in a timely manner. We waited and waited and waited. Finally my friend goes to inquire about our food. Apparently, they lost our order. They blamed it on computers being down. But other people were receiving their food. There wasn't too much of an apology, just assigning blame away from personal responsibility. Chicken teriyaki taco didn't taste like teriyaki at all. I don't know what that was supposed to be. I just tasted it at the restaurant and then took it home. I ended up throwing it away. Cons for my friend: Same issue of late food. She didn't enjoy her main dish. Her spring roll arrived cold in the middle. So she requested a new one. It still had not arrived by the time we had finished our meal and were ready to go. So at the end of the night, my friend complained about us having to pay when the food was bad and we ended up staying so long that we had to pay for parking. They ended up refunding us for our food. But we shouldn't have had to ask. Bottom line: I'll try another location.

Had lunch here before the movies and Tin Drum keeps declining. We order Thai Tacos and they were sloppy, didn't taste like Thai and had very gloppy rice. Another friend order Kung Pao noodles and it too was a mess with ingredients not on the menu. Their new menu changes also make this place less customer friendly as does the unfriendly wait staff. I'm afraid Tin Drum sounds like a fancy way to say garbage can.

My go-to quick-bite-to-eat spot, besides Chipotle. I am not a fast food person, and I love Asian cuisine, so this place seems like a no-brainer. They have all kinds of curry options, egg drop soup, Thai coconut soup, spring rolls, etc. And it's all good. I can swing in on my lunch break and get a bite to go, I can run in for a quick meal before a movie, or go with friends and eat in. It really satisfies anyone's needs. It's fast, it's delicious, it's convenient, and there's tons of variety.

This place is ok for chainy Chang food. But I hate this location it is always ghetto and dirty. The staff, as usual, looks at you like they could kill you for walking in and making them actually do any work.

The food is always hot and fresh. The staff is always very friendly. I frequent here often when I'm at Atlantic station. If you like Asian food, check them out. I have nothing bad to say about this restaurant!

What Asian flavor are you in the mood for today - many choices at Tin Drum. Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Thai... For fast, easy, and tasty, Tin Drum is a good option. I tend to have issues with most Asian cuisine (my freak-of-nature-ness (read allergies)). My options here are limited, but I am happy with the things on the menu I know are safe to eat. I enjoy the Pot Stickers/Dumplings and my favorite is the Sesame Chicken. I also enjoy the fact that I can always get brown rice instead of white. The service is usually pretty good and they give you a lot of food (and too much rice). This is always a good price performer for what you end up getting as well. With so many locations around the city, it's a good choice for a quick and tasty lunch when you are short on time and want something more than crappy fast food.

If you're in the mood for Asian, but don't have time to find a Thai restaurant and wait for the sit-down service, go here. I would say Tin Drum is better than Panera Bread and Chipotle! (maybe i'm just an asian food fanatic). The food is rich in flavor and actually has some authentic-taste to it! For a small meal, I like the thai chicken taco and coconut soup...soo good!!!

I'm giving it 3 stars because of the service and location. My friends and I literally had a mini reunion for late lunch. I ordered the Pad Thai (so-so) and Thai tea (made perfect). We ordered our food at the front & was given a number for the table. C'mon this is Atlanta and not authentic Thai. The workers are African American, East African and even a guy from Honduras. For being Americanized like a chain restaurant it was ok. Portions are decent for lunch & cheap. You could eat well w/ a drink for $10-14. Bathrooms are clean and servers were quick with cleaning tables and bringing over any extra needed items. We sat in the same seats talking/laughing for about 2 hrs w/ no rush to leave.

I am a fan of this place. It's a good place for takeout or a quick stop to grab a bite before or after shopping. I've had several of their noodle dishes, the curry noodles are my latest favorite (they're nicely spicy). I like the soups too. I haven't had anything I don't like, the prices are very reasonable (around $8 for most things), and service is fast. It's certainly nothing fancy, but for what it is (cheap & good takeout), it deserves all 5 stars.

I am writing this review about a visit to this Tin Drum from about two months ago. This location had given me trouble the other two times I went, because of the dirty tables and attitude from the employees but it has cleaned up it's act, with much improvement in the service area. Keep it up, Tin Drum!

The weird thing about this particular Tin Drum is the fact that I don't really think it's particularly that special. But because I'm basing this review mostly on comparison to another Tin Drum (Tech Square), it kinda stands out as slightly more glowing than its counterpart, which I'm actually disappointed by. Hear me out though, if you like wordy reviews. If you're there for just casual dining, or going to lump eating with a movie or something, you don't have to worry about parking since the first two hours are free, and many of the AS places validate for extra hours. This trumps the Tech Square Tin Drum, where there's zero (legal) free parking. The establishment itself, is kind of cramped feeling. The short ceilings lead to some obvious ventilation issues within the restaurant itself, and when you walk in, there's this thickness in the air that is the result of all sorts of steams and vapors that really have nowhere to escape to. Funky air aside, the dining room is often kind of messy; the staff seems lackadaisical about bussing tables and correcting chairs and table placement from all the shuffling that customers do on their own. Furthermore, lots of tables and chairs are wobbly, and it makes me wonder just what kinds of abuse public furniture has to go through to become so deformed? But the most important aspect about any restaurant is the food itself, and to be frank, I like Tin Drum's foods for the most part. I tend to lean on the Panang curry, although I have enjoyed Masaman and their tacos before. The AS location is consistently way better at portioning and being generous with the curry's fillings than Tech Square's Tin Drum; when I want avocado in my curry, I enjoy seeing actual slices, and not finely chopped cubes. I find the prices to be fair; even at my hungriest, tips included, I don't really ever exceed $10 for myself, but I'm also a water drinker, and don't pay for the drinks that would likely push most diners over that threshold. So despite the fact that I work within easy walking distance to the Tech Square Tin Drum, I'd typically prefer to hop in my car and go to the Atlantic Station one instead, because at least I'd genuinely get my money's worth there, funky air and wobbly tables aside. Better people watching, too.

Ha I can't believe I'm writing a review based one dish - but while I'm not a huge fan of Tin Drum, I actually really enjoyed their Pad Thai with Chicken ($7.99). Noodles were good, and the chicken was surprisingly not dry or old tasting (which is usu. the case at these kinds of restaurants). And it's chicken breast, too. I'm pretty sure I'd probably order this again if I visit another Tin Drum. And like other Tin Drum locations, I like that they give you a lot of food. Yay for two meals.

I've only been to the Tin Drum in Downtown prior to my visit to this Tin Drum. I stopped going to the Tin Drum in Downtown after a few visits because they mixed gravy with meat just before they served the food (at least that's what the food tasted like) but the food in general was not bad. I like the pad thai there. I went to this Tin Drum only because my friend wanted to meet there. I honestly did not expect much but apparently, I expectations were too high, the food was just bland. I don't know how they managed to have so many restaurants in metro Atlanta.

This location has gone downhill. I am usually a fan of Tin Drum were I frequently order my favorite dish; the Penang curry chicken and shrimp with brown rice. This past week, I came in during lunch and the line was long; both the regular line and the computer-based order line. The guy in the regular line was also taking phone orders. After more than 10 minutes, I ordered my usual and another 10 minutes later, the food arrived. Immediately, I knew something was wrong. It just didn't look like what I usually order. I tasted it; awful. The Manager came over to ask me if my food was OK and I said "No, the curry is watered down. The chicken tastes like canned tuna. This is usually my favorite dish! What happened?". She goes on to tell me that they changed the recipe and even admitted to watering down the curry. She offered to get me something else which was equally unimpressive. I'm not going back.

It was our first time trying a Tin Drum (didn't even know there were other locations). We ordered the Thai Basil roll, Teriyaki chicken taco, Mango stir-fry, and Pad Thai (when we go to a new place we like to sample the menu). Anywho, we sit down and that's when I noticed how, um, dirty, unkept, and run down the place was. When our food came, it looked appetizing enough, that is until we actually started eating it. The Thai Basil roll was mostly cabbage and some basil. Nothing special. The real disappointment came when I had the Pad Thai! I really wanted to like it but the noodles were soggy and mushy, completely grossed me out. My fiance's Mango stir fry would've been good except that the crispy chicken chunks had the flavor of fish! He thinks they added fish sauce to the dish. It's just hard to get past the fact that your chicken tastes like fish. After we left, we went over to Kilwins to try to salvage our palate for the night. Nothing like a vanilla malt shake to wash away the flavor of fishy chicken and soggy noodles.

It's so sad that this location of Tin Drum is so, so shitty because I've had great experiences at both Lindbergh and Midtown. Like for real, I honestly don't understand what is wrong with this location. It looks like it's 20 years old and has never been renovated (interesting since that location is barely more than a year old). It had funkyass smells coming somewhere disturbingly near to the drink fountain and they only had two bottles of soy sauce, both of which wouldn't pour. Listen, I know that Tin Drum isn't exactly 5 star cuisine. All the same, I have a major soft spot for their basil fried rice and crab and cheese spring rolls. It's quick and cheap and both the Midtown and Lindbergh locations are nice, well-lit, clean, and welcoming. This location is dirty, dark, and unwelcoming. I can't make an ounce of sense out of the layout of the restaurant itself - why exactly is the drink fountain smushed in the back corner by the bathrooms (which reek) while the kitchen is open to the entire restaurant so that you are forced to squeeze past servers preparing takeout orders to get literally anywhere. My food took twice as long as it does at other locations for no real reason, considering the place was practically empty. Maybe it had to do with the fact that the cook was too busy winking at me over the counter to concentrate on making my food. By the time I escaped (with my unwanted side of sexual harassment) I was starving. So you can imagine what a fucking bummer it was to get home and have my food be just... crappy. The guy forgot to make it as a to go order and he simply dumped it in the to-go container upside down, nevermind that the food has a garnish. It had a weird flavor that I can't place but I know isn't right, considering I got the same thing I always get. The employees were rude and unhelpful, the restaurant is dirty, and the service is slow. Drive an extra mile to Tech Square if you really want to experience Tin Drum.

The food here is okay. I got the Panang curry chicken. It could have used more meat and the taste was a little off but for a quick and cheap meal it worked.

  • Laura C.

Tasty and pretty reasonably priced! There aren't a huge number of options and the guy takin orders admitted that some of the dishes aren't that good, but just ask for recommendations! The Pad Thai and the Tin Drum curry were both really good.

  • Kristie N.

Both times I've eaten there the food has been a bit too sweet but this time I found a hair in my takeout. Someone who was eating there while I was waiting sent back an eggroll with hair in it. It may have had something to do with the fact one of the kitchen workers had her hair long hair not tied back or with so much as a hat on. Never going back.

Womp womp. We were at Atlantic Station on a Sunday afternoon and I wanted to grab a quick semi-healthy bite, so I figured Tin Drum may be a good option. I ordered the salad with curried chicken and a Thai basil roll. My dining partner ordered the same, plus two fountain drinks. The total was $25... definitely more than expected. And so much more than we should have paid. First of all, the food took forever to arrive. Yeah, for salads. And the basil rolls came out after the entrees. The salad was a sad factory: crappy iceberg lettuce, a few shredded carrots, and some dried up chicken on top. None of the goodies that were in the description. The dressing flavor was good but they gave you so very little of it that it couldn't save anything. The basil rolls were equally sad, as they had the same crappy lettuce mix with a few basil sprigs thrown in to a sloppily-rolled situation. At least they had free refills?

Came back here and was a little disappointed. I ordered the Pad Thai, Crab and Cheese Rolls, and Thai Tea to go. Pad Thai - I had requested for them to NOT add peanuts cause I am allergic to it. I open the box and behold....there was peanuts in it. Therefore I couldn't eat it at all. What a waste. Cram and cheese rolls - it was so soggy and tasteless compare to last time. Idk what happen. I didn't like it at all. Thai tea - either they added a whole lots of milk or sugar or something cause mine was hella sweet. It doesn't even taste like Thai tea. Tasted like sugar water. Disappointed. Overall, I'm super disappointed.

I am unpleasantly surprised to find that Tin Drum has decreased the portion of its panang curry by approximately 25%. While the price remained the same, the portion is significantly and obviously smaller now. Also, the chicken in both the panang curry and Japanese katsu were tough as a result of being severely overcooked. This location had better food in the past, but it nonetheless continues to satisfy my occasional craving for Asian American fast food within walking distance.

  • Carol F.

I love the convenience of this place as well as the quantity you receive for the price. When ever I visit I always end up having to grab a to-go box with more than enough left over for another meal. The cheese rolls are large and crispy. The massaman curry tastes comparable to other Thai restaurants in the area, creamy and nutty, and the Pad Thai is flavorful as well. Thai tea is a bit watery, though enjoyable. When you visit Atlantic Station casually, this is a great place to stop for fast service food that's not your typical fast food joint.

There is nothing really special about this place but it is definitely a great fast food joint. We wanted to get some quick Asian food for the cheap and this place provides. The food is good quality for the price. Not as good as you can get at other places but it is a convenient location. The sizes are large. Hard to eat all by yourself. The Tin Drum Curry is very good.

Quick, no frills, asian fusion in a casual environment. Food: Tin Drum offers a variety of asian dishes, from curry and stir fry to gyoza and egg rolls. The do not, however, offer sushi. Portions are extremely large - they do offer self-serve to-go containers though if you care to take home any leftovers. All food is moderate quality - certainly not the best in town, but definitely not the worst. Service: You order at the register when you walk in and they provide you with a number that you place on your table. Within approximately 5 minutes, your food is normally ready and brought out to you. Drinks and condiments are all self serve. Atmosphere: Extremely casual with mixed clientele. The restaurant definitely has a fast food feel to it, so I'd definitely try somewhere else if you're looking for ambiance. Cost: Very inexpensive. Entrees are in the $5 to $8 range and sides are in the $2 to $4. Fountain drinks are $1.75. Other: They do have staff that clear the tables, so don't feel compelled to dispose of your dishes yourself - unlike most "fast food" joints, there aren't any garbage bins around every corner.

I've been to the Tin Drum on Roswell and loved it so while we were in Atlantic Station, I was so excited to go back to Tin Drum. I had assumed all franchises were the same - this was an incorrect assumption. This place has the worst service ever. It is basically the antithesis of the Roswell location. The woman at the front made us wait until she was done texting before she would take our order. The people who handed us food did not give us utensils even after we asked for them. The rice was drenched in sauce. Overall, if you like Tin Drum, go to the Roswell location and avoid this one.

This place frightens me. The moment we walked in, I knew it was a bad idea. This is a fast casual restaurant where you order/pay first, fill your own drink& your order is brought to you. The cashier tried a myriad of uncomfortable "jokes"/come-ons/general strangeness (??) on me and my female friend. As noone was in line ahead of us, the process should have taken a total of 3 minutes but with his incessant rambling it took about 10. When the food finally came out, the server walked past our table once (there were only 2 other parties in the entire restaurant) and then shrugged his shoulders and put the food back on the service line. He then disappeared to the back. I finally walked up to the line and sure enough it was our food seeing as how the other tables already had theirs. I brought our food back to the table and we dined in complete peace (seeing as noone ever came by to check on us) and we dipped. The pad thai tastes like it is made with tomato ketchup and the rest of the dishes are pretty lackluster. The only redeeming quality is that you'll get a decent portion of cold, mediocre food. A boy should expect to be 70% full for about $8.50.

Quick, cheap, blah, blah, blah.... Another cool and trendy Asian bistro chain in Atlanta. Check it out if you're looking for a quick meal at a clean restaurant. If you want something more authentic, go to Buford highway. Sorry...just not my favorite place. Would be 3 stars if they were cheaper.

The food was delicious and plentiful i ate off of it for 2 days but the short foreign caahier with the colored hair who rung us up was rude and impatient. Not sure why being that we were the only ones in line (not that thats an excuse) She wasnt very willing to help with explaining the menu and rushed us to check out. That being said Ill definitely be back but if she is there im going to tell her about herself.my only gripe is that rude cashier everything else was great

Ordered a noodle dish and it came out with less than 1/3 of a bowl. I flat out told the waitress it wasn't enough food and asked if that's how it's served. She said 'It used to be more; the portions have changed a little". Are u kidding me??? Before I came a few times and ordered Sesame chicken. It was mostly rice and 4 pieces of chicken. And they were mopping the floors at 1pm. I won't eat here again.

Well, I lived in 2 of the best cities in the world, Oregon and New York so I know what GREAT ASIAN food tastes like. If you think this is good food than that is your taste. The food was overcooked, my Pad Thai noodle was soupy... Yeah SOUPY! It's cheap food so don't expect it to be five star Asian food.

Came here a few weeks after checking out the one on Roswell Rd for the first time. I enjoyed my visit to the Roswell Rd location. The staff seemed very friendly. However, I had a much different experience at this location. First, the cashier made us wait forever to order our food. I'm not sure what she was doing on her phone, but we had to stand there and wait until she was done before we could order. Then when our food came out, my wife asked about the silverware. A good waiter would get them for us. But this waiter simply pointed us in the direction and left. It wasn't particularly busy at that time either. The food itself was ok. However, it seemed to be drenched in more sauce than I cared for, and there was just too much rice in proportion to the amount of food I got. So naturally I had a ton of leftover rice. I'm not sure if they do that just to make the bowls seem fuller while giving you less entree. I might return to the Roswell location, but not likely to this location - at least not anytime soon until I can forget about the issues here.

Awful. Restaurant was extremely dirty(Floor, tables, seats). Many people were "working" but not many were actually doing anything. Our soup came out with an extra layer of grease at the top. Other items were tasteless. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

It's fast food meats asian fusion. It's yummy to me. I had the Thai basil spring roll. I was very good. But the won ton was split right down the middle. thus the contents were falling out everywhere and it was very hard to eat. I also had the Japanese gyoza. its a deep fried dumpling with chicken and veggies inside. I loved this the most. For $3.00 you get 5 dumplings. I loved them. I also had the Thai chicken drumroll. It looked good in the picture on the menu. well, I'm hear to tell you it didn't look or taste anything like the menu did! (you get what I'm saying :-) ) the wrap was pretty crispy and flaky coming apart when i bit into it. the chicken, even though you could see the seasoning (i think curry) covering it, did not have much of a taste. it was just...ok. I would definitely go back. you get ok food for low prices. The dumplings were fantastic. the place has an open feeling to it and is very comfortable.

I'm a big fan of Tin Drum...it's a perfect dinner option being seeing a flick at Atlantic Station. have no real complaints...good food, friendly staff, clean restaurant and affordable pricing. A few things I recommend... * Pad Thai (comes with grilled chicken) * Lo Men (comes with grilled chicken) * Teriyaki stir-fry (comes with tempura fried chicken and white rice) * Crab and cheese spring roll * Thai basil roll Overall...it's not the best thai in Atlanta, but it's a great option in Atlantic Station.

It's a fast food Asian eatery. I noticed there's a lot of curry dishes on their menu. I think it's a little pricey for fast food Asian fushion restaurants, but I guess I think everything is pricey these days. I got a mango rice bow. It was aight. There was too much sauce so it made my meal taste a little salty. I did like that the food came out hot and fresh. I liked my bf's curry dish. There's in-door and out-door self-seating. The place has a contemporary decor; think plastic and blue lights. A lot of GT students bc of location I guess. Overall, it's a decent place for a quick Asian eat.

You restaurant and idea and food is only as good as people who work there. I can't even enjoy my food. When someone that is supposed to serve you had nasty attitude and is rude you can't even taste your food. Bad service.

I just can't get any satisfaction from Tin Drum. I do not like the taste of the Pad Thai and the hot and sour soup that I ordered was way too salty. The crispy noodles they gave me to put in the soup were stale. Uuggghhh. Also, there were a couple of fruit flies around the silverware area. The spring roll that I ordered tasted okay, but it was piping hot on the outside and luke warm on the inside. I don't want to give up on the place though for some reason. I feel like I will eventually find something that rings my bell on their menu. I guess I'll keep trying.

I must have walked past this restaurant a 100s times literally at Atlantic Station. A friend and I decided to check it out one day after catching a movie. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised. The menu is pretty basic. I like the options to create your own meal. I LOVED that you can order at the cash register or at one of the computer terminals in the restaurant. How awesome is that!!! My friend went to the cashier and I to the machine. I was done 1st! I won! Lol! I love that if your own a diet or counting calories the pc had options to select menu items based on calories. LOVE that! I went basic to try them out. I enjoyed my basic chicken fried rice and curry chicken rolls. They were good. The fried rice had just the right amount of seasoning. There is also a vegetarian and gluten free meno options. Little crowded but I would go back or get it to go.

I stopped in here for lunch today and I'm sorry to say that my stomach did not like the chicken pad thai. I've had the same dish at several places before but I can honestly say I have never had one that was bright orange. I'm not exactly sure what that was? It was $7.51 for the dish and although I don't think the price is out of line at all I wish it had been better. Maybe I was expecting too much. I don't know. I was at least expecting it to taste good. Sorry, Tin Drum, but you are not for me.

We went here because it was quick, however, this was a mistake. Not only did they lose our order, they were not apologetic and wanted to charge us a second time for it. We had to actually show our credit card bill online just to get our food 30 minutes later. When we spoke with the manager, he offered nothing. Our food came out so late that we had to leave it to get to our show on time. I also had to ask 3 times for salad dressing. Terrible service! The food was not bad, except for the Curry. Very watery with no spices. Basil fried rice was good. Sadly, Won't go here again.

Tasty and pretty reasonably priced! There aren't a huge number of options and the guy takin orders admitted that some of the dishes aren't that good, but just ask for recommendations! The Pad Thai and the Tin Drum curry were both really good.

I might return to the Roswell location, but not likely to this location - at least not anytime soon until I can forget about the issues here.

i had always went to the tin drum in tech square (the one on 5th street), but came to this one for dinner instead one evening after shopping with joyce l. like she said, this experience was rather frightening. when we walked in, there was a harsh smell that was a mix of chemicals (ex: bathroom cleaner) and just plain....bathroom. it was gross, but at that point, we were hungry and we figured it would be a quick meal - so we would just be in and out within 20 minutes. half of the lights also either were a) not working or b) turned off for some reason, so it was dim and had a dingy appearance. when we got up to the cash register to order, the cashier tried (very unsuccessfully) to make small talk, which we tried to entertain awkwardly for about a minute or two to be polite. come on - we just want to order our food! we are not interested in dating you or listening to your uncomfortable attempts at flirting. his jokes were awkward, not funny, and were very strange. when we finally managed to relieve ourselves of the world's most uncomfortable experience (i realize i've used the word uncomfortable many times in this review - but there really is no other way to describe it), we sat down and waited for our food. we waited an insanely long time before we saw the waiter / busboy come out of the kitchen with two bowls. he looked around the dining area, did a quick pass-by, literally SHRUGGED HIS SHOULDERS, and put the bowls back on the counter. he didn't even bother to ask around, or see if anybody (out of the 2 occupied tables) was missing their food. my friend went up to the counter, grabbed our bowls of food, and brought them back to our table. of course, the food was just mediocre. it's amazing to see the difference in food quality and preparation between this tin drum and the one on 5th street. although that location doesn't always have stellar, amazing food, i feel assured of their cleanliness and ability to run a decent restaurant. obviously, we didn't leave a tip. first of all, nobody brought our food to our table. if i had wanted something self-serve, i would have gone to a buffet or cooked for myself at home. second of all, nobody came to ask us how our food was, or to check up on us. horrible dining experience overall. i will definitely not be returning to this tin drum for sure.

For Asian fast food, was very good. It's not fine dining; it's fast dining. Sesame chicken on brown rice with broccoli was tasty.

There's limited seating, but it was pretty empty when we were there, so it wasn't bad. The food was sooo good! And the portions were very satisfying. I left full and happy!

Staff seemed preoccupied on their cell phones. Very odd, maybe because it was really slow. Friendly, but most certainly preoccupied.
