Overall, I LOVE Panchos! I'm a regular here. Lol! The servers know me & my order without me having to say anything. I've been coming here for years, and I order the SAME thing.... chicken fajita nachos, baby! I strayed away from the norm once, but I'm not a big fan of authentic Mexican food so I don't even know why I did that. Depending on the chef, quality may be hit or miss, but I think that I have been pleased more times than I've been disappointed. I'm not a big drinker, but I've tried the margaritas..... ehhh.... all of the "flavors" taste the same, to me. Go get you some Chicken Fajita Nachos & say, "Hola!" to Venus.

I was here for one of my soror's birthday, and it was just O-K. While the service was decent, and the food was edible, there was nothing memorable about eating here. I definitely wouldn't make the drive from my home to this location (about 15mins). I'd hoped I was getting a more traditional Mexican restaurant, but I got more of a "chain" experience.

My husband wanted to relive his 20's by eating at Pancho's. Skeptical as ever I made him check the yelp reviews. 3 stars. So I made him compare it to some of our other Mexican restaurants. Also 3 stars. I pull in. The valet caught us off guard but whatever. The space was nice and fairly new. Hubby said it was totally different. The menu had lots of options - not all Mexican. But we were there for Mexican!! I thought the chips were fresher and crisper than most and the queso was really good. I had a combo plate and Hubby had fajitas. The food came quickly and looked great. Lots of extra veggies with the fajitas - not just the basic onions and peppers. Up until now, 4.5 to 5 stars. But then..... Nothing. No refills, no "how's everything?", no box, no check. We sat and sat. Plenty of wait staff saw us but no one offered to help or to find our waitress. (It also bothered me that wait staff would walk by dirty tables and do nothing.). Finally the person, not our waitress, who brought our food out asked if we needed anything else. By now the credit card is on the table so we quickly handed it to her and asked for a box. Sorry Pancho's, good food can't make up for bad service.

My order did not include any toppings for my soft tacos. I asked the server & waitress 3 times and still didn't get them. Food ended up getting cold as a result. The person I was with ended up getting extremely sick from the food she ate as well... Go for cheap drinks but leave it at that. stick to the chips & salsa. That was the best thing about my meal. I will not be going back...

Kids menu - n/a, but you can order a la carte (tacos, enchiladas) or side dishes (black beans, rice) in portions that are perfect for kids. Kids review - it was awesome!! The beef quesadilla was more like a giant taco. So much meat!! We also tried all three enchiladas. The beef was the best but the chicken was good too. Parents review - its a bit incongruous because it looks like a dump but it's not. We liked the valet parking, fun atmosphere and really quick food service. The drinks were fine but the food was amazing. Try the Tres Caminos - shrimp, chicken and steak sautéed with huge cloves of garlic, fresh spinach and grape tomatoes and topped with a jalapeño cream sauce. Awesome. We will be back, Pancho!

I love Mexican food. And margaritas. This place hits the spot and is cheap. Parking is not so great. But the mariachi band makes up for it. They have a fantastic patio that's great for large groups. You are looking out over 85 which is kind of cool. They have great margaritas that are pretty cheap. The queso is good. Standard issue on chips and salsa. Shrimp enchiladas weren't anything to rave in but I didn't expect much. At least it came with sour cream and guacamole. The refried beans weren't that good. The chicken quesadilla dinner was s big hit. It was huge and stuffed full of grilled chicken and cheese with queso on top. I'll get that again. Friend had the shrimp chile relleno. It got rave reviews. Very traditional Mexican food and atmosphere. Will be back especially during patio season. Oh and don't forget about the mariachi band who will serenade you during dinner (if you wish).

Amazing Mexican food. I went here with a party of 4. we were seated quickly on the patio, even though it looked super packed. Got serenaded by the band. They made their rounds and came back around and asked if we wanted another song. The guitar player made sure that his "Tips" sign was in plain view. I drunkenly told him that we didn't have any more cash, he politely walked away lol Our waiter was Christopher. He was amazing! He offered suggestions on the menu and what his family usually orders. I teased him about that and let him know that he didn't have to get his family involved with his lies lol He brought out some STIFF pitchers of margaritas (yes plural) we were getting toasted that night. I tried the Shrimp Relleno as recommended by Christopher. Wuuuuuuuut! That stuffed pepper was filled with fresh shrimp and rice and smothered in red sauce. It was GREAT. I wanted to order another one to go cuz my party kept sticking their dirty ass forks in my plate!! My bff couldn't help but try it since she was torn between ordering what I had and the Chimichangas. I have to come here again with the hubz so he can experience this. He said that before he met me, the closest he got to Mexican food was Taco Bell lol

Dear Pancho's, I owe you a huge apology. When I'm wrong, I'm wrong and not afraid to admit it. You are actually one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Atlanta. I'm just going to chalk that Montezuma's revenge experience up as a fluke. I hadn't visited you in over a year since our last ill fated dinner together. When I pulled into your parking lot, you were still quite sketch. Okay we noticed a used needle. Yeah that happened. You are on Buford Highway after all. Once I got inside though, I was taken aback by your makeover. You so fancy! The bar was completely redone since I'd last visited. We opted for your patio though. It's probably the worst patio in Atlanta with a scenic view of the interstate. That's okay though because your margaritas are strong and queso is cheesy. You really redeemed yourself with your shrimp relleno. Holy best thing I ever ate. It was a perfectly cooked chile relleno pepper stuffed with blackened shrimp and queso. I can't even begin to describe just how delicious this thing is. I could eat it nightly. It stayed down the next day too. TMI. I can't wait to come back to hang out with you on a Friday night to enjoy a shrimp relleno and your mariachi band. Please accept my apologies. I think we just got off to a rough start. Te Amo, Mary Locke

Chris is our server oh my OMG he is so off I L-O-V-E him he took care of me got me make the order guacamole only from the kitchen super French make sure all my drinks were amazingly on point and on top of it he's cool he as a mama! Christopher the server is so awesome I had to tip him before my dinner even came because without Andy therapy and I'm going to tip them again at least 30 to 40% if you have the opportunity to come here make sure you ask for Chris and tip him well because he will treat you like the king or queen you Are...

Delicious! I was very happy with my meal. The tortillas were fresh and crisp.. The house salsa not overly spicy but full of flavor. I also liked the fact the salsa had some substance to it.. not too watery a puree like you often get at most Mexican restaurants. I ordered the cheese dip, which I must say was a bit bland. My entree was the beef chimichanga. ABSOLUTELY EXCELLENT! The tortilla was not too thick or greasy. The slow simmered beef inside was full of slow cooking flavor, ever so tender and stuffed full. I was very pleased, and will definitely return in the very near future! My server Ashley, was very friendly, and attentive!

Always great! Get the fajitas quesadillas. Enough to share and healthy! Wait staff are soooo nice and prompt. Chips are light and crispy.

If you like stale chips and mediocre food, you've found the right place! 2 stars instead of 1 for cheap beer and a decent atmosphere. Too many other good Ted-Mex places around to go here

Pancho's is a hidden gem! We loved the food, drinks, service, mariachis & casual unpretentious atmosphere! I had their combination with a mole enchilada, paella & taco... It was so amazing I practically polished the plate! Not to mention the fantastic margaritas!! They even had some off-the beaten trail favorites like HORCHATA & grapefruit soda!!!!! Love, love, love this place!

  • Jenny D.

I did not look at reviews prior to eating here. We only came to eat here based on a co-workers suggestion. Remind us never to get food suggestions from that person again. I LOVE Mexican good and I honestly never complain about Mexican food because how can you mess up meat, with cheese. Well this place did. Service was meh...no one really friendly. We had to ask for utensils and chase down the waitress for another drink. Chips and Salsa - OK, nothing memorable I ordered the Chili Releno - This was my 3rd Chile Releno I ever had. I've tried this dish in different restaurants of Atlanta. And this one is the worst. The flavor was lacking and the portion is small for the price. Too many Mexican restaurants in Atlanta to give this place another try.

More authentic Mexican than Tex-mex. Stronger margaritas than most, from what I can tell with the people I'm with. I don't drink, but they are wasted off one pitcher. The veggie quesadilla is good but broccoli is a bit chewy. The bean bowl is awesome, as is the queso with chorizo (something you have to know to ask for at any Mexican restaurant, rarely on menu). Good place overall. Bit loud.

Fun atmosphere, great enchiladas and amazing staff. Can't wait to go back this spring to enjoy the rocking patio and drink specials!! Get the cheese dip with jalapeños. Excellent.

Wow, three hours, a lost ticket, empty glasses and the most insane menu I've ever seen. Of course all of this was something that wouldn't necessarily result in a one star rating...no,no my friends, you see to achieve that status you must have an incompetent server with a DUI endorsing manager. That's right, upon complaining about the horrendous service and unacceptable wait times we were offered only free shots and a free pitcher of beer for the 11 of us! Oh boy! You mean I can wait longer while you get to that free order? Manager - here's a tip, don't ask the patron what they want from you. Instead you make it up to them by any means necessary. By any means necessary. Do not say things like "well if you want me to take money off that will only take longer for you to get your ticket". You have lost 11 patrons to your restaurant and our complaints will be extending to our social network in a matter of days.

Margaritas are weak and the food is kinda under seasoned, prices are a bit high for the product and service for the most part inexperienced and slow. I lived close by so I gave this place a few try's, but it was a disappointment every time.

  • Debbie S.

the portions are huge here! I have been here twice now and it is a perfect place to grab a couple of drinks (great prices on those) with a group of girls. The interior is a bit awkward for any group bigger than 4 though...once we wound up sitting kind of in a walkway, so the back of my chair got knocked a few times. But not all the tables are like that. i think they made room for us so we wouldn't have to wait. Overall, I have had good experiences both times i have come here. The food is kind of average...pretty typical Mexican restaurant food. Also, both times i went, there was a "service charge" added to our tabs. The first server told us it was not a tip and that we should add tip, but the 2nd time I went, the server said it was a tip. So i feel a little bit like the first server kind of intentionally ripped us off for more tips, so just be aware that in this particular place, service charge = gratuity (which is not always the case at other places)

I was shocked that it took nearly an hour to get our food. I was shocked when the party of six next to us sent all of their meals back. I was shocked when the guy on the other side found a large bone in his chicken. So, imagine my amazement after asking for the food order be canceled and drinks be paid that the manager initially brought me a check for $7 for chips and salsa, then argued with me prior to bringing me a menu that listed $5. Paid the $10 bill. Never again. Found out from speaking to others after this fiasco that they were fearful of the food safety.

I was shocked to see low ratings on yelp for this place. I thought the food and service was great. It is just a bit more expensive than your average mexican restaurant, but the quality of the food is much better. I had the special dinner with beef options. This comes with a taco, tamal, enchilada, chili relleno, rice and beans. Since it was my first visit I wanted to try a variety. Highlights: the seasoning on the beef (many places use little to none which leaves the beef dry and bland), the chili relleno (most places cook these into a mush blob, this place does it right, great filling and a cooked but slightly firm/fresh texture), the tamal was awesome with the spice and shredded chicken. The rest of the plate was great. Plenty of rice and beans. Lowlights: my only complaint is how much oil/grease was in the beef used in the entree. Waaay too much. I'll go back, but i'm not getting the beef.

Solid 4. Go to Green's across the street on an early Friday afternoon. Stock up on some brewskies for the weekend. Jay walk to the shooting range across the street for some target practice at the indoor range. Wrap that up with a margarita pitcher and some pretty good Mexican food. Service was great for the party of 15 we had but we were seated right in front of the band on the back deck which made it difficult to talk to one another.

We have lived in the neighborhood across the street from Pancho's for several years and never tried it until recently, but are so glad we did. The food and service were both excellent many times in a row now. It is a fun, lively little place and you would not guess how cute it is inside based on where it's located on Buford or the outside appearance. Highly recommended!

  • Kevin L.

If you want to go somewhere that is laid back and causal, this is a good spot. The service is good and the food is decent. It's not out of this world but they do have a good taco salad.

    (3)
  • David O.

Had dinner here a few times. Nothing spectacular, as others have stated, but decent food in my experience. I did get a good stomach burn after the margarita...which probably implies a very cheap tequila was used, but I'm guessing that's most mexican places. All in all, a good location for a standard mexican meal.

  • Jessica G.

Two stars because of the cheese dip and margaritas. So the experience went downhill since adding the "tip" on here. Service was ok. Average. Not outstanding. Food was meh. Steak burrito could have used more steak or added some onions and peppers or beans even. The guac and sour cream on my burrito was more then the actual meat inside. Rice good, beans bland. For what I was served it was way too pricey. Won't be back. For better Mexican food and lower prices make the extra mile and go to El Potro down the road.

So I went on a stormy Friday night. No wait but a solid crowd. It was really loud. Not that they can do much about it but it was having to yell loud to hear across the table. Keep that in mind. Salsa was pretty darn good and the chips were fresh and light. Beef nachos were good but not great. Meat lacking flavor over all. Buy I have a very good enchilada and stiffed chili. I will be back when it is not as crowded and sample some other dishes.

They season the taco meat... and season it well. That's not something that gets done at a lot of the sketch mex places that dot Atlanta's culinary landscape. It makes it worth it. The tequila shrimp was really weird... good, kinda craveable... but weird. My burrito shell was pink... PINK. I was here for lunch so I got the #4, taco, burrito, enchilada... classic. Chips were warm; salsa was hot and chocked with cilantro. YAY! I like it here. I have only been here for lunch though, so I cannot speak about the dinner/drinking here. The service was good. Refilled my unsweet tea 4 times.

Hmmmmm I have to first start out by saying I am not the type to write a bad review. A coworker told me I had to go here and that the deck and drinks were amazing. So out I go. My hubs and I were ushered to the deck which was super awesome. I could sit here all night! The waiter came over immediately wanting our drink order. Ummm, we barely sat down & just got our menus and there is a crazy long tequila/margarita menu! He seemed annoyed & came back every 2 minutes, for 5 times. I ordered the "perfect patron" margarita. It came back looking and tasting like a glass of orange juice with ice in it. Then the food. I ordered shrimp tacos. The waiter said that was a fantastic choice!! The mister order tequila shimp (a specialty). The dishes were delivered to the wrong table, at there a while, then once we realized they were ours, they were brought to us but were grossly overcooked. The shrimp were like tiny shriveled cold rubbery things in a very strong salad-dressing-type sauce. The food was inedible and unfortunately, expensive. The drinks were yuck. The deck, yay! Great! The mariachi band was fun too. But we will not be returning.

I've been coming here for lunch for 12 years. It's been consistently good for that time. But man o man... They must have gotten a new cook or something. Lunch special #2 - burrito, chili relleno and rice. That is the best chili relleno I have ever eaten. Wow was it good. It was all great. Keep it up guys.

Last time I was in this place two years ago the Margaritas were great and the food was mediocre. Now the Margaritas are mediocre and the food HORRIBLE. I ordered the beef quesadilla and the beef had a very odd taste and it was served lukewarm (One of my restaurant pet peeves is when food that's supposed to be hot arrives warmish.) The Margarita tasted like it had no alcohol in it. I was in a large group and I will say the service was quite good considering the size of the group. Oh and guess what? As of Friday April 17 they have valet parking!

I'm surprised this restaurant doesn't have better reviews. I stopped in on a Friday night after spending the evening shooting at the gun range next door. Everyone was friendly as we walked in, and we were seated quickly. Our waiter was funny and checked on us often. A big plus is that they have a large variety of margaritas, both frozen and on the rocks. There was a mariachi band walking around playing music and smiling and they even asked if we had any requests. My steak burrito with queso was delicious. I will definitely be back -- often!

Worst service ever. I will start by saying I am in the service industry and have been for 10 years. So, I'm not someone who goes into a restaurant wanting a free meal or complaining constantly. We decided to end our vacation from the lake at this place and it was a huge mistake. Firstly, it took over 8 mins just to be greeted. Then, my boyfriend ordered a coke (took over 15 minutes) to get, and he had to remind her twice after the initial order. Then, I ordered a drink and got the wrong one. When I got my correct drink (grapefruit margarita) it was tequila and grapefruit juice, no agave, no triple sec or anything. So it was disgusting. So, we ordered. Food came out fast, but it's because none of it was fresh. My friend's taco salad was watery like soup, the lettuce was brown, and missing cheese. My other friend's chimichangas were barely cooked and certainly not fried like they were supposed to be. My meal was wrong (I got a chicken taco salad and ordered a veggie one). I went to the restroom while waiting for my meal to be corrected. (Took over 10 mins to get the correct one)...Our server was in the restroom talking on the phone, while my corrected salad sat in the kitchen window. She proceeded to leave the restroom without washing her hands!! Sick. So naturally, after she brought the correct salad and touched all over my water glass with her unwashed hands- my appetite was gone. I have all the patience in the world, but coming from a fellow service industry person- that was terrible.

This place is horrible. I have been here a few times only because my toastmaster group holds an after party here. Great environment to socialize because there's not usually anyone else there. Service is always bad and slow. They have rats. Big rats, little rats and a family of rats. You can see them running in and out if you park in the back and watch from your car. Not the best place to eat or drink.

  • Mark R.

My first time here. I have been seeing it from 85 north bound for years. The chips and salsa were perfect. The chips warm light and fresh. The salsa very tasty. Not to much cilantro. Service was excellent as well as the meal. I will definitely be back.

This location recently got a fairly comprehensive internal face-lift/makeover....It's amazing what a coat of fresh paint, new seating and new management will do! They must have watched restaurant takeover and took some notes [smile] Anyways, Ponchos has long been a regular hangout for me and friends to come for reasonably [READ: CEHEAP] priced pitchers of margaritas.... Generally the crowd was more of a 20ish/young adult /college aged crowd that could get loud and rowdy at times [so if this is not your scene don't bother]....The goal here was cheap liquor, a campy mariachi band [that can get annoying] and sometimes outdoor live band during the summer......Food was a distant second..... Well I'm pleased to say that Ponchos is trying to up its game....the menu selections have improved, the decor is crisp and inviting and the wait staff is far better trained and attentive...... If you've been there and the past and formed a less than favorable opinion I'd definitely give it another go....the new manager seems to be really be trying and it very open to suggestions....

It's been years since I've eaten at Pancho's, but a nearby meeting necessitated eating close by. After scanning Yelp reviews, I was a little nervous about what we'd find. I can report we had a perfectly fine meal, nothing spectacular but nothing wrong either. And our service was especially good. Our waiter, Jesus, was attentive, funny and helpful, very engaging. He's an asset to the restaurant. I ordered a combination plate with a burrito, enchilada and taco. I asked for a chicken enchilada and had the other two items prepared with beef. If it matters, I definitely preferred the beef. My friend ordered ala carte and cleaned his plate. A special request was accommodated easily and without complaint. Of course we emptied a couple of baskets of chips ahead of time. The chips are very good, crispy and thin, but still thick enough for scooping up the tasty salsa. Yes, prices are a little high, particularly for full entrees, and combination plates run a dollar or two more than other Mexican restaurants. But there's plenty to be had at reasonable prices. I'd say Pancho's is worth a try if you're in the area, but I wouldn't make a special trip to eat there.

Formerly, I really liked this place. It has since turned into a horrible place. The margaritas are sometimes okay, and other times they're not. Food is mediocre. The last time we went here (and the time that lead us to conclude we will never return), our server screwed everything up imaginable. However, I don't really blame him because it was only his third day. They had obviously provided him with no training whatsoever and simply handed him a pad & pen and told him to take orders. About half the entrees were screwed up. Horrid service...stay away.

Growing up, I was told, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. That was before I had dinner at Pancho's last Friday night. Its started when we were asked to seat ourselves. After wandering around for a few minutes, we settled on the patio overlooking I-85. Immediately, we were greeted with Chips and Salsa. Nothing special, not terrible though. People smoking on three sides of us, no ventilation. Another 10 minutes later, after starting a fade into dehydration, we finally had our drink orders taken. It was the first server we saw out there. Very awkward, as everyone around us seemed to be wondering where the staff was as well. It was another 10 minutes and we were brought our waters and a diet coke. All presented in styrofoam cups, because they had run out of glasses for the night. We finally got our food, after sitting there for almost 45 mins. Beef enchilada and taco were floating on a plate of grease. I wish I had taken a picture, but i was sick to my stomach after looking this over. Chicken taco was 85% cheese, with a little shredded chicken, very watery. Cheese dip (which came out with the main entree) was ice cold. I asked the server what what up with the food and she said "Sorry, the beef is really greasy tonight." They must be using the cheapest ingredients. I sent our food back, for the first time in my life. Just awful, awful, awful. She took off the beef entrees, charged us for the chicken tacos and cokes. I happily paid $10 to get out of there. Without a doubt, it was the worst dining experience of my life. There are some great restaurants in Brookhaven... all of them are better than this place. Stay far away.

Margaritas!!!! Good and strong! When it comes to dreaming about my favorite tequila drink I will keep this place in mind. We ordered a pitcher of Texas Margaritas to share between two. My fella tipped extra to have them put no ice in it! All that I can say is WOOOWWW! There food isn't really worth mentioning at all. But because this is Yelp..... I ordered the Taco Al Carbon (steak) and the fella ordered the steak quesadilla. The meat selection was very nice as it was tender and juicy steak but no thrills at all. The tacos came with pico de gallo and I ordered a side of lettuce. I'm sure I will be back and if I'm drinking then I'm going to eat too. So it's a ploy that I'm okay with dealing with for the simple fact that I like to drink! I can deal with mediocre food. I can't wait until it gets a little warmer so I can enjoy the patio.

Oh Pancho's... your Monster Margaritas are legendary... Sadly, for my first visit I went during lunch... and I think my co-workers would have noticed if I'd come back sloshed... My 2 friends and I sat outside on the patio for lunch which resulted in this convo: Friend A: Eww the table is dirty... Friend B: It's just soot... (we were over-looking the interstate - so it likely was soot) Overall - this is a 3-star kind of place. Good but not great. The chips and salsa were good (and spicy), the service was pretty fast, and my quesadillas were pretty darn delicious... I will go back if I'm in the area - but wouldn't go out of my way by any means.

This place has such potential. Seriously! Amazing deck and a pretty sweet location. Unfortunately there isn't even a need for a lengthy review. This is just not tasty mexican food. The quality isn't up to par with the close by places like 'El Portro' The margaritas aren't bad. I would probably meet somebody for a drink here if asked, but wouldn't order any food.

The only word to describe this place and the food is awful. We walked in, took a look around and were immediately turned off by the filth of the place. Ordered a pitcher of flat beer and had the most dreadful quesadilla of my life. Kids, it had charred broccoli and chewy mushrooms in it?!? Our spidey senses were right from the get go...this place is dreadful. We chalked up our losses, left our beer and broccoli and mushroom "quesadilla" and headed elsewhere. The ingredients looked, smelled and tasted like cheap day old ingredients. In a city which has amazing Mexican restaurant - spare yourself from this dive. Ugh.

I'm not sure why some people rant and rave about this place sometime? I have been several times and am pretty disappointed every time. The chicken burritos are okay, but certainly not anything to write home about either. Nothing impresses me about this place at all...

"Hey man, it's me Carlos. I'm at Pancho's man, come pick me up." I clicked my phone shut, cutting off the rest of Carlos's voicemail. I didn't need to hear it. I'd heard that same message (or a variant of it) countless times over the past few months. Ever since Carlos suffered a head injury that left him completely devoid of his short-term memory, he's been eating at Pancho's three or four times a week. He may not have his memory (which also explains why he can never determine which car in Pancho's "rape alley"-style parking lot is his), but apparently Charles B. is the first person saved on his phone, so it's always me that he calls. I get in the car and start thinking about the last time I ate at Pancho's myself - which was also the first time I ate there. I think that the Pancho's dining room is stocked with one of two types of customers - first-time diners and people (like my poor friend Carlos) who have lost their memory. I mean this sincerely - I cannot imagine anybody ever consciously eating at Pancho's twice. My phone buzzes - Carlos again. He's already forgotten he called tonight. I'll probably get three or four more calls from him between here and Pancho's. Such is life. I let it go to voicemail and continue thinking about that first (and last) time I ate at Pancho's. The sign looked so inviting from the interstate and the patio with the giant tree in the middle foretold of a pleasant evening of Mexican food and conversation with my special lady friend and one of her friends, who had decided to join us. What began as a pleasant midsummer's dinner excursion quickly deteriorated into a Kafkaesque nightmare, complete with a clinically depressed-looking Mariachi band singing, strumming, and hornblowing away loudly but halfheartedly mere inches from our ear drums. Against our better judgment we placed our food orders. From inside my jacket pocket, my phone chirps again. Relax Carlos, less than a mile away now. It isn't uncommon to get a burn in your mouth from eating something that's fresh out of the oven, but it's rare that you're actually concerned about a chemical burn. The strange, lingering chemical aftertaste that permeated each bite of our dinners was more reminiscent of a wet gym sock than of anything South of the Border. I've had more authentic Mexican food at Taco Bell. The wait staff, while marginally friendly, was slow and incompetent. I pull into the parking lot and see Carlos standing at the Pancho's entrance looking pallid and sick. He doesn't recognize me, of course, but after a brief explanation (one that I can now just about deliver on auto-pilot) he understands the situation and gets in the car. As I pull out of the parking lot and onto the interstate, Carlos looks out the window, sees the sign, and asks me the same question he always asks after I pick him up from Pancho's: "Hey man, you wanna go to Pancho's?"

Good strong drinks I will agree Patio gets this place fours stars. I love the fact that an actual tree grows up right through the patio. The food....not so much. Good thing I was with a great group. The patio was lively and everyone was having a good time. Ordered more drinks, but didn't worry about the food. There was four of us and we had to request salsa several time and our check several time also....which isn't good when you got four ladies laughing and drinkin

This place was awesome! My food arrived with the wrong order, and the meat was extremely well seasoned ... The Guacomole was probably my only saving grace, but wait there's more! For a full seven dollars you get a whopping 1 OZ of this stuff. Great value I daresay. I finally ended my meal with a fabulous fried ice cream. You can't really go wrong right? When the dessert arrived a Marilynn Manson creation was starring me In the face. Yes, you read correctly! True story ...

Our waiter was experiencing some unprofessional technical difficulties on my last visit here. He was more interested in his "friend" who was sitting at the table behind us. He actually chatted with his "friend" for several minutes after we sat down and did not acknowledge us until we to flagged another server down. Unfortunately it was then that we discovered that he was our server :-/. Luckily the food, live music and the passion fruit margarita made up for the horrible customer service. Our waiter appeared to have been in an altercation with another employee and left. Our new waitress was very apologetic and accommodating.

I have been coming here to eat and drink since my high school days. I liked it best when it was a hole in the wall dive but that was several years ago. Now it may have more of a polished look but it is also decidedly pricier than it used to be. The other day I went here with a buddy of mine and I had the chicken fajita quesadilla with rice and beans; good but not great. My friend did not eat (other than chips and salsa) but he did drink a beer pint while I drank a large mug of beer. We also nibbled on the comlimentary chips and salsa while we imbibed. I must admit that the ambience (and perhaps also the service) is many times better in the here and now than it was back in the day; however, with tax and tip, the bill came to about $28. Not a good deal. There are simply too many other good places for Mexican in a neighborhood with decidedly better establishments and more appealing prices. Won't be back any time soon...except maybe to drink.

I've been to Pancho's a few times, and the "A-OK" description fits it perfectly. The back patio, with the huge tree growing up through the center, is pretty much the best part of this place. Toss in a reasonably priced margarita pitcher, and you've got a decent happy hour. Don't come here expecting to eat a great Mexican meal. In fact, I could skip the food altogether: it's fairly bland, not always well prepared (most recently, I got a chile relleno that was still cold when it came to the table), and overpriced. The menu is pretty much generic and could be found at any chain Mexican joint in town. If you stick with chips, salsa, queso, and the margaritas on the back patio, you'll probably really enjoy Pancho's. They also have trivia on Thursdays if that's your thing, although it doesn't seem to be very well attended.

I tried to like this place. I've gone there before with my boyfriend and had so much fun. The outside courtyard is nice and so are the margaritas. But I will not be back there after this experience. Oh... where do I begin? I ordered a drink special, which was on a table tent ON MY TABLE, plus it was written on the chalkboard in the bar. He leaves and comes back and said "We don't have it unless you pay normal price." Then I picked up the table tent and kindly showed him. I said "It's cool. Just bring something similar to this." 5 minutes go by... still waiting for some kind of beverage. We didn't even have water after asking. He brought 2 beers at the same time and told me to drink it. I said, "I'm sorry, I can't right now. Thank you, though" and passed it back to him. He put it back on the table. I said "Please, take it away. I'm only having one." And repeat - back and forward. It was obvious he rang it in and was afraid to take it back. Note to server: just take it. Dump it out, give it to someone else, I don't care - just don't force me to have it. It was only lunchtime. My mother still wanted water. She asked around 3 times that I remember. He even walked by and smiled at my mom and she whispered to me "Can you find me some water please? Our server is not paying attention to us." After that, I went to the bar myself and got my own water. By that time, the restaurant staff could tell something was wrong so they decided to help us. But the best part was when I asked for the bill early, to eat and leave - he got mad and asked why? Really?! He got slightly confrontational as I smiled, left my 15 percent tip (I don't ever leave less than 20) and walked out. I didn't have the heart to not tip him even though it wasn't deserved. Plus, the extra beer was on the bill like I thought so I had another server take it off. Three tables around us, the only three, came later and ate first. They had different servers. Those are the kind of restaurant experiences that make you want to cook some home made tacos and invite friends over. Save the money, have a pleasant time and no headaches.

I love Pancho's. LOVE Pancho's. It may be the most expensive Mexican restaurant I dine at, but gosh, it is so good. I love sitting out on the patio under the tree in warm weather. The raspberry rita here is heaven. Try the steak fajita quesadilla. Its massive and easily split between two people (and will save you a book). The queso con chorizo is also special. I tend to only come here for lunch to take advantage of lunch pricing (and to drink in the afternoon in the sunshine - ha). Dinner is often crowded and its tough to find parking at night.

There's better Mexican Food on Buford Hwy. There were lots of people drinking, few people eating. It's kind of hard to make bland fajitas, but this place achieved it. Unless I'm drinking, I wouldn't go back. But the free salsa they provide with the chips was good.

I read the reviews before I came and it almost turned me off from coming. But I'm glad it didn't because I loved every minute I was here. The food was great.. The margaritas were amazing and the place was packed. Don't listen to these reviews. Let's be honest the only ones who write reviews are the ones with bad experiences. So stop being picky with the little things and enjoy the time here because it's fun and the people are fun. Try for yourself and don't judge based on everyone else's reviews

i've driven past this place since 1998 and decided to FINALLY give it a try. here's the rundown: 1. arrived approx 6:50 no host, 10 min till our server finally got to our table. 2. our drinks got to us 10 min later, placed dinner order 3. although we got 3 orders of chips within the 10 min waiting for our drinks, our dinner got to us at 7:45! food wasn't hot but rather warm, as if it had been sitting under a heat lamp. had to ask for silverware and napkins before food got to us. 4. during the course of our dinner, watched a young couple actually use the table next to them to change their child's clothes. surely a health code violation. in conclusion, while the atmosphere wasn't totally bad, the combination of service, cleanliness and food quality are enough to keep me and my family from coming back.

This is a cheap Mexican food with margaritas heavy on the tequila type of place. Go here with a group of friends to have too many drinks. Looking for great Mexican food? There are too many options of Buford highway to keep going back here.

  • Chris P.

Not the best food or the best service but it is OK. There are plenty of other places I would go to before here but in the area I would choose this place over Taco Cabana any day. The food is par with what someone would think of a place like this. The margarita mix however is really really good. It's not too sweet and not sour and has the right amount of alcohol. We have had some bowling parties here for our league and they always manage to handle them really well. I have had lunch here and the service is OK but the few times I have been here at night for dinner or drinks at the bar service was horrible.

This is a great Mexican place to sit OUTSIDE. There is a giant tree right in the middle of their giant PATIO. Food is pretty good and slightly overpriced. But all in all, eating some tacos, and drinking margaritas outside under a huge tree... it's a great experience.

  • Dan K.

This dirty dive should be avoided. They often advertise "monster" items (Monster burrito, monster drinks, etc) -- If you like bad food, this is the place for you because they give you huge portions. Service is horrible and the music is deafening. My poor dining companion wanted some of their steak but they wouldn't allow him to buy any unless he bought it in one of their prepackaged meals - I guess they have everything already cooked in some predetermined way (maybe frozen from the prior week- who knows?) I have heard that their outside patio is nice - and that might be the case if you want to go to a dirty restaurant to sit on their dirty patio but if you decide to do that, I would say you would be better off packing your lunch pail with some Popeye's chicken fingers and your own tequila.

Awesome deck: check Decent margaritas: check Yummy cheese dip: check Tasty carnitas plate: check Too bad the trivia equipment wasn't working out on the patio the night we went, otherwise I may have bumped this up to a 4th star.

Took my daughters to Panchos this evening for dinner hoping to relive old times I used to go here all the time years ago and always thought it was good Anyhow we were only snacking and not eating so don't want to be too tough but for cheese dip nachos and a coke it was about 25 bucks The cheese dip was pretty good, the salsa pretty bad and the fajita nachos disappointing Service was fine......certainly not memorable There are too many good Mexican restaurants for me to be a regular here

Oh how we wanted to love Pancho's. Like an abused spouse we kept forgiving Pancho for his consistent transgressions, returning each time with the blissful hope he would change. We just needed some minor indication that he really cared, that he truly wanted us there. But each time we walked out determined it was over. Swearing we would never return. That no matter how convenient it was... we would find someone new. We have finally moved on and are happy now. Food is one step above the unbelievably lousy service. You've been warned.

This used to be my favorite place, but now I frequent Panchos. I went yesterday, and enjoyed it. All I had was the cheese dip, and the Texas Margarita, a pitcher, which is alot cheaper than Las Margaritas. I will be back. Margaritas are great, and service has gotten alot better. t

Ugh. This place is AWFUL. Yes it has a large patio, and yes there are a lot of people who swear by it just b/c it's on Buford Highway and they think liking it makes them sound authentic--but with the wealth of decent Mexican options in the ATL area, why would you choose a place as overpriced, unclean, and with service as bad as Pancho's? My latest (and last ) visit here was a complete trainwreck. We went (groaning) for a friend's birthday. After waiting for about a decade to be seated, we were cramped at a dirty table. 5 mins, no server. 10, 15 mins... we had to flag someone down. "I'm not your waitress." Finally after almost 30 mins and lots of begging we managed to get someone to take our drink order. 20 mins after that we had to nag them to actually bring the drinks... which were dreadful. I don't know if the Yelpers singing praises of the ritas here "packing a punch" know what tequila tastes like, but here you will find a $20-something pitcher of cheap, gaggingly sweet margarita mix with NO TEQUILA whatsoever. The food is absurdly overpriced and took eons to arrive. And here was the icing on the cake... after we ate, I stepped outside to accompany a friend while he smoked. A rat the size of a housecat darted across my foot and into some hole in the side of the building. !AY CARAMBA! Trust me, you don't want to go here. I recommend Las Margaritas on Cheshire Bridge, not far from Pancho's, for a MUCH more pleasant Tex-Mex experience.

I live close to this place, and come here for the awesome patio, delicious (and cheap) margaritas, and the fajita nachos. All other food is overpriced, IMHO. The fajita nachos are the best thing on the menu, although they are under the appetizer section. They give you a ton, two people can split one order, and a pitcher of house margaritas and walk out the door for about $30 including tip. That's kick-ass. And if you go on Saturday evenings, the mariachi band will play. And yes, they wear clothes that are WAY too tight, which is totally comical. Enjoy!!!

Margaritas, good and the food wasn't bad at all. I enjoyed the patio, it kind of reminded of being at a backyard party with family. Although our waiter was good a disappearing, the overall experience was good.

I always come back to this place because it is so easy. I just wish they were open a bit later. Awesome outdoor space, like a big tree house. Parking kind of sucks and Thursday nights are slammed. But what you see from the outside is what you get on the inside. Don't expect anything nice and fancy just consistent Mexican food. The only thing that annoys me is that the side of cheese dip and the appetizer are the EXACT same size but $3 difference. I always order the same thing, steak burrito. Wish it came a la carte since I usually am too full to eat the rice or beans. Margaritas are ok.

Quick service. Great drink specials. Cheese dip and guac are expensive. Need to update their TV entertainment, so an update with flat screens would be nice if they're promoting "Braves & Falcons" games. Parking is limited. Patio is nice. Advice: get your margarita "Texas style", you'll be good for the night.

Save your time and money This was my second time here and it reminded me of why I should not be going back. The most marginal tasteless mexican food in town Service - felt like I was eating at a fast food joint with them throwing things my way when I was able to get the waiters attention. Chips and Salsa - taste like something out of a can This was by far the worst meal I have had in a long time and one of the biggest bills.

Mexican food! Correction: Ghetto Mexican! That's not a derogatory term. That's how I (endearingly) classify the places that have "Combination Dinners 1-X." FOOD. I'm a huge fan of Combo #1, which is usually two enchiladas, one taco, and choice of beans or rice. At Pancho's, I was tossed a curve ball. Their Combo #1: one enchilada, one taco, beans, and rice. I'd rather have an enchilada than beans, if one can be so picky about Ghetto Mex. Taste wise, the food is standard fare (delicious.) DRINKS. We did NOT order Margaritas, although apparently they're delicious at Pancho's. For some reason, we ordered three shots of Ketel One that tasted like Absolut or rubbing alcohol. Yes, I know I sound like a huge DB. SERVICE. Fine. Courteous waitress (although she suggested the Ketel One might taste like rubbing alcohol because we were drunk. We weren't. And I argue that being drunk would have the opposite effect.) The place is about 4 stars with a minus 1 for price. I like my Ghetto Mex cheap. I didn't take off any stars for the alcohol situation because, frankly, who the hell orders vodka at a Mexican restaurant?

  • Turbo G.

I hadn't eaten at Panchos for probably 5-6 years and boy have they changed. They used to be a solid 3 star type place with decent tex-mex for a decent price. But no more... $6.50 for queso dip??? are you freakin kidding me??? Next i tried the combination #11 - 2 (chicken) burritos with rice and beans. The burritos were tasteless at best, just chicken with watery salsa thrown on top for...taste?. The beans were dry. The rice was ok but only about four forkfulls?? All for the 'bargain price' of $9.95 Even the iced tea sucked (not fresh brewed) WAY WAY OVERPRICED CRAP. I will NEVER return.

The food here is so delicious, with an authentic atmosphere and taste. It was hard to decide what to eat - everything sounded great, and no one in our party of 6 was disappointed. Portions are enormous, so plan to take home plenty of extras. I believe they make their chips on-site - the super thin & crispy variety. Huge margaritas, and they don't skimp on the tequila. ;) Ask for Fredy - he's fabulous!

The patio with the tree is the best thing about this place. The patio was better before they added the upper area. It has just a railing and felt some much more open. This place used to be really good back in the 90's. It change owners in the early 00's when the deck was expanded and the food/drink quality went downhill. I want to go there tonight for old time sake, but I don't think I can do it.

  • Scott M.

I have some friends who keep insisting we go here. I don't get to see these friends often. First off: it is just your standard American-Mexican. Numbered combos, greasy corn chips and so on. It is okay in that regard. My friends also drink a lot. I cannot confirm or deny if this has anything to do with their continued desire to go here. It will probably remain popular because of the "Monster Drinks" (large margaritas, if you could believe such a thing exists!!!!!!!!1!!) and a big patio in a busy area. I did have Tacos al Carbon here and it wasn't bad. I will probably order that every time, since it was slightly less oily than the other stuff. I saw someone have sex with a cake here once. This is not a metaphor.

  • Lauren J.

How can you people rate this place at only 2 stars? That's a Mexican travesty! This place is great. The patio kicks ass. Totally. Food is hot, fresh and fast. Just like I like my women. Yeah, I think I said that out loud.

    (4)
  • John H.

I really don't feel comfortable giving this place 3 stars, but it isn't 2 star either. Just right in between. Basically, it's your typical Tex-Mex kind of place. Chips sometimes stale, sometimes not. Watery salsa that I could make. Queso I can't make, but still can't resist. Massive margaritas that cause you to have an Antartic brain freeze. I have been a few times recently and the service ain't half bad. I don't have to wait on my draft beer to get refilled. They kind of bug you at times, but I would rather get bugged than not have any attention. Now to the good stuff. Let's discuss the view... It's SPECTACULAR!!! It's kind of hard to describe... Its... Wait for it... Well it kind of sucks... I-85 is a superb view if you're going to have a "romantic" dinner to dump your girlfriend. Not so much otherwise. They can't help their location though. Nothing better than seeing the biker boys drive through at 120mph on the crotch rockets. Scares the bejesus out of you sometimes if you aren't used to it. I guess I got rid of the nervous twitch from it a few months ago. Anyways, it's your run of the mill Mexican place. Not too bad, definitely not great. Just a decent spot to grab that Glutonous sized Margarita after work. As much as I would say I won't be there again, I know I'm lying.

I happen to like this place. I see a lot of negatives on here complaining about the chips, the salsa, the food, etc. Maybe i'm not an expert, or a tex-mex connesuir, but I think their thin fried tortilla chips are good! The salsa may be watery but I happen to enjoy it. And my 5-year old loves the queso! He made me sit with him for a few minutes after everyone else left our table, just so he could keep eating it. I eventually had to get a to-go cup for it! Every time I have had the food it has been good. I think if you don't ask for anything fancy then you won't be disappointed. The food is not the best in the world but I think it's quite palatable. And the drinks are tasty! The margaritas do taste a bit like "Lime Kool-Aid" as one other Yelper mentioned, but what do you expect?! I thought they all tasted like that!

Eh, Pancho's just doesn't do it for me. Parking is terrible and the food is just average. We waited forever for a table outside since it was a gorgeous night and after we finally got seated out there I kind of wish we had just sat inside. It was rather fratastic and there was lots of drinking, yelling and screaming plus they had live music. It was really like sensory overload. Service wasn't all the great and the food, well, I can't even remember what I had so it couldn't have been that great. With so many good Mexican spots in this area I don't think I'll be coming back.

    (2)
  • Pam L.

The only thing I remotely liked were the margaritas. Strong. Order them by the pitcher or have one called the Monster. It's the size of my head! The food is bleh though. Queso was bland and congealed before it got to the table. Guacamole was spicy but very slimy and pureed. It looked like the stuff I'd use for a face mask. The chicken taco I had was also very watery and just mushy. The good things: Mariachi Band and shaded patio (even though it overlooks the highway). Perhaps they figure that after a couple of pitchers anything tastes good! Nope . . . still tasted bleh for me . . . .

    (2)
  • D G.

Having to give them one star makes me cringe. I asked for a small guacamole and the waitress brought out the appetizer portion. Whatever that means... well it means that it's actually larger and it's $7, not $2.50. When I pointed that out on the bill, she said there was nothing she could do. So you're telling me out of every restaurant in the US, Pancho's is the only one without a 'void button' on their computer??? She wouldn't take it off my bill so I let that be her tip... Stay away unless you want to get swindled.

I made my first visit to Pancho's last weekend for a birthday celebration. Despite calling for reservations several days in advance (party of 12) not only was a table not available in a timely manner, but they "lost" the reservation. We finally got seated half an hour after our reservation time and 45 minutes after we arrived. The decor was typical tex mex aside from the creepy merry-go-round horses hanging and spinning from the ceiling The service was average - although with a group as large as we were she did pretty well, however we just split the bill (we didn't ask for separate checks). The drinks were good. I'm not a huge fan of margaritas, but these were pretty good, if non-descript. I did get a little buzz, so as others have mentioned, i think they pack a punch. The food was also standard fare. Nothing gourmet or spectacular, but solid and meets expectations. I found the cheese dip a bit spicier than most other mexican restaurants (but I'm a bit of a wimp when it comes to spicy food). Overall, Panchos did nothing to stand out from the crowd, but its a good option for run of the mill mexican that probably wont thrill, but also wont disappoint.

The parking is terrible, unless you drive a mini. I like the outdoor seating. There was plenty of room outside, we had a large group and didn't have to wait for a table. And there was shade and some large fans blowing, so it was comfortable even on a hot day. The service was ok, could have been better. They keep the chips and salsa coming, which is nice. I hear the monster margarita hits the spot. We had two girls share one, and both were a little cross eyed when it was empty (runs about $15 though, so it's not a super deal just not bad). Food left much to be desired. I had the "Special Dinner" which included a chile relleno, a taco, an enchilada, a tamale, a something else, rice and beans, so I tried almost everything they had to offer, none of which impressed me. And it didn't sit well in the stomach for anyone. Prices could have been lower for what it was, it's about $10 a plate. I have to say I loved the mariachi band. They take requests, although they might not know everything you want to hear. But they don't just play songs that nobody's ever heard. They played Jimmy Buffett and some others I recognized but couldn't remember. If I go back to this place it will probably be just for drinks. I'll get mexican food somewhere else.

If you want a little spice in your life, this is the place. The salsa is H-O-T! and the guacamole, too. Aye Caramba! The margaritas have a kick, so don't pound them back like kool-aid. This is 2nd favorite place for Mexican food, so far, in Atlanta. The place is big with lots of patio space. Too bad the view is of the highway! Be patient with the staff, though, they're a little slow.

  • duane m.

The food here is pretty decent, and the margaritas will sneak up on your and make you drunk before you know it. I recommend lots of pitchers to go with your taco and burrito. The salsa is pretty good, and they definitely bring you lots of chips to munch on. The only downside to this place, is that the health code rating isn't so good, and being someone that got food poisoning in Mexico, I tend to err on the side of caution when it comes to Mexican food. I have never gotten sick from eating here, but I am always a little cautious when I go. Also, they have a monster margarita which is a doozy. Definitely get that! Perhaps the alcohol can kill any and all germs that may be in the food!

I've been here a few times, each time the result of someone else planning dinner or after-work drinks. This most recent experience will be my last. The cheese dip is fairly tasty, but expensive for the amount you get. The service was not very great. Most frustrating of all is that they charged my credit card for more than the bill and tip I left! The outdoor deck is nice, but unfortunately Pancho's just isn't worth it.

This place is one of the best Mexican restaurants iv been to and I'm a huge fan of Mexican and Im very very picky on Mexican! This is a nice place the bar is awsome the patio outside is the BEST part it's huge and a gorgeous patio with a giant tree in the center. The food is too freaking good. And service is AWSOME. This place get a 10!

I finally found a place that serves mole!!! I am one of those very rare people who love mole and this place serves it, so I had to try it. I give most of their stars because of that. The service was haphazard, the interior was okay... the mole was good. I heard the Friday nights can get fun, so since I'm close, I might try it out and report back. I've had better Mexican, and better service in other places. Bottom line: don't go out of your way to stop here for a meal.

The wife and I have been searching for some good "gringo" mexican since we moved here. We can both honestly say that this is not it. Parking sucks. It did look clean on the inside. Food was way below expectations. My combination that I believe was #35 had a chile relleno that was a greasy mess that was made with a half of a plain green pepper, topped with cheese and what I can only hope was some kind of very greasy ground meat. No beans or rice with your combo-total B.S.. The wife had a burrito and an enchilada in her combo that were exactly the same! I guess the sauce they put on it that resembled brown gravy more than enchilada sauce was the difference. No lettuce or tomatoes in that burrito either. Yuck. Our pitcher of margaritas tasted a lot like lime Kool-Aid and had no tequila kick at all. Do yourself a favor, blow this place off and head to Uncle Julio's.

Overall: meh. On Buford Highway, you better bring it with the Mexican...and this place just doesnt. Service is slow and food is pretty pricey compared to its more authentic neighbors.

Service sucks ass here. When we it our bill, after waiting for 1hr for it, it already had a tip on it. Who does that?? Service was already awful and the added tip just pushed us over the edge. Will not go back

Strong drinks, so strong you can't really taste the flavor. Good after-dark summer-night patio atmosphere with a huge live tree in the center of the patio. I like that. But the food was lacking, and the salsa tasted like it came out of a jar. I'd maybe go back for drinks and the atmosphere, but forgo the food.

Have you seen the Health Inspector's review of this place? Whoo!! Even though I know that the score is less than desirable, I still can't pull myself away. I think that it's the company that's there. There's an abundance on nice, friendly people! And the queso dip is great! There's a large patio with a magnificent view of...the highway! I have the most fun here with a large group of friends. I've been known to throw back an entire pitcher of margarita's here! Be careful!

The margaritas here pack a punch. The next morning that is... The food was alright, the chips and salsa were delicious! Our evening of fun was ruined by a broken window and stolen backpack, laptop from the parking lot next door to pancho's! Do not park anywhere but the Pancho's parking lot! I guess we should have known there were already three breakins that week... But Pancho's is great and I hope they increase security or warm customers when they walk in about recent thefts...

Oh, where do I begin? I went to Panchos on a Friday night with a date. The parking lot is small, and it was packed. The neighboring lots were also packed. Determined, we risked car damage squeezing into a space. Inside, the restaurant/bar was packed with people aged 21 - 30-something. Loud. The loudest chatter of voices I've ever heard, and the noise was echoed by the building's design. If you don't like loud, shrieking women and cackling laughter you might want to avoid this place. We're seated immediately. Service was slow. The slowest I've experienced anywhere. The chips brought with salsa were strangely oily. Oily tortilla chips - this was a first for me. Not good, didn't eat. When the food came, my chicken enchilada, beef taco, beans and rice were cold. The food quality was not good. The only quality thing was the beer. Thankfully, that was served cold. The bill came to $30 for two people (one beer each with meal) which is outrageous for the food quality and service. This is not a place to take a date; noise level allows no dinner conversation. Panchos should exist as a bar-only.

Charlie and I went here once in our grand endeavor to find a completely awesome Mexican restaurant in Atlanta (sadly we have not yet been successful). While the chips and salsa here are AWESOME, and actually pack a bit of a punch (it seems like most Mexican places tend to avoid too much spice, probably for fear of a lawsuit), everything else was mediocre. I personally found their margaritas watery, and the carnita was bland and tough. Maybe we just caught them on a bad day - the place was packed with people watching the UGA v. Tech game possibly (I'm not a football person).

Worst Mexican food ever. Chips were paper thin, no flavor, not even worth eating. Its rare for me not to scarf down the chips and salsa. Never ever go there for dinner- cheese dip was $7! Ridiculous. Since when does Mexican rice have carrots and peas? Disgusting. The pork looked like nasty boiled chunks of some sort of meat. Completely unrecognizable. Guacamole had no flavor. I was pissed that I actually had to pay for that meal. Selection was awful. I would choose Taco Bell over this any day. Don't waste your money. i know I never will again. Not even worth 1 star.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
