I think I just ordered the wrong things. My daughter and I split the grilled pimento cheese which was very greasy and messy. We couldn't even eat it. My son got the kids pepperoni pizza which was also extremely greasy. I had a cup of the broccoli/cheddar soup which was pretty good and piping hot. Seemed more like a bowl than a cup. I will probably go back and order a salad -those looked very fresh. On a more positive note, the service was very quick and the staff was attentive.

I am impressed by Newk's in Town Brookhaven. Great price and Great Service. One of my favorite casual dinning place. We tried sandwich and pizza on last visit. Both Yummy !!

Tried Newk's for lunch today at the insistence of a friend who loves the place and it was pretty good. The service we received upon walking in was excellent. I must have looked confused because one guy came from around the counter to go over the menu with us and tell us the soups for the day. He was very helpful, energetic and funny. Unfortunately I had a different person ring me up and this one got a little confuse/flustered when I pointed out that instead of ringing up the soup/salad combo he had them individually. I got a nice little "Well you didn't ASK for the combo." Fortunately he quickly fixed the issue and apologized for not realizing there was a combo in the first place. The food selection itself is pretty good. Added bonus that they have veggie options in every category. My only issue is that the veggie sandwich isn't as veggie-ful as the pizza seems (but that may just be me hating on the portabella mushrooms). The soup/ salad combo I ordered was alot more food than expected. Around here when they say bowl of soup they really mean swimming pool! This place is really well organized, colorful and comfortable. Although it's probably not a place I'd visit more than once a month, it's definitely another good option for a simple and relaxing lunch.

First visit was very pleasant even though the place was packed. We ordered salads and had them at the table right after we got our drinks! I will definitely be back to try their other items as the prices seem pretty reasonably and there's a lot to choose from. A parking tip for you cranky pants: Park in the underground Publix deck and walk up the stairs. You come right out at Newk's and your car stays cool.

Went for lunch and loved it! I had the Newk's salad - delicious. fresh, crispy and lots of stuff - grapes, pecans, artichokes, blue cheese, turkey, cranberries, croutons and of course crispy lettuce and the dressing was some sort of house which was good too. Big portion! My friend ordered the veggie pizza. Small personal size pizza with big slices of veggies, not cubes or little pieces. They loved it. I didn't try a sandwich but as they went by, they too smelled good. Interesting they have a pickle, capers, garlic bar - I guess you can add to sandwiches. Didn't try but looks interesting for next time. Definitely a new go to place.

I came here for a quick carryout bite. Parking was kind of a drag, but then again parking is hard to find anywhere in this shopping center during peak times. Inside is pretty plain like most chains. Also like most chains, the menu is available to view online in case you want to get a peek at what they have before going in. They have an assortment of salads, 10" pizzas, sandwiches and rotating daily soup choices as well as additional quick grab and go items in a small cooler. They had a small island with stuff like oil, vinegar, cheese, bread sticks, crackers, ect. They have desserts and half soup/salad/sandwich combos as well. Prices were average/somewhat cheap. Salads, pizzas and sandwiches run about 8 bucks. The hostess staff was very friendly as well as any other workers we encountered there. The hostess staff was quick to make recommendations. There isn't any ambiance to get excited about. Our wait on our to go order was about 5-10 minutes. Food was pretty good. I got a Newk Q sandwich and crab soup. The sandwich was probably about 8 inches. It wasn't stacked with ingredients though. It was average in quantity in ingredients like what you'd get at subway or similar sandwich places. The chicken though was cut chicken breast. Not deli sliced chicken like at which which. The soup was thick like a crab version of lobster bisque. Overall both items were pretty good. What made it go the extra mile to a 4 star was the service and how quick the food was ready.

Thrilled to have a Newk's ITP. I was a devotee at the original location in Oxford, MS, and since returning to Atlanta after my college days, I've definitely missed it. I was thrilled to hear they were opening a location in Atlanta; even more thrilled that it's in my backyard in Brookhaven. The food here is soup/sandwich/salad perfected. I've never had anything that wasn't outstanding. Pizzas are above average, too, for a place that doesn't 'specialize' in them. Don't expect anything Antico/Varasano's quality of course, but it's good stuff. My highest recommendations are 'The Italian', 'Newk's Q' (which is topped with the all-too-rare white bbq sauce), and the Pimiento Cheese. All the salads are awesome as well. Service was great; you order at the counter and the food is brought out to your table later. Sweet tea is fantastic. Really delicious brownies (and I'm not a big fan of sweets). There's a takeout counter at the entrance with some cold, preconstructed sandwiches, and containers of their chicken salad and pimiento cheese. I will definitely be taking advantage of this in the future.

Being a former resident of Oxford, MS, Newk's cafe was a delicious Sunday tradition. The Brookhaven location does not disappoint! Awesome sandwiches (Try 'The Royal'), great salads (love the simply w/ blue cheese), BIG cups for sweet tea, and delicious desserts. Management and staff is excellent, they truly want to make sure your food and experience is to your satisfaction. Overall: Lively atmosphere, simple, delicious food, nice prices, and great service!

Great value here! Their sandwiches, soups and salads are very good. They have a very friendly staff....and for under $20, my wife and I can count on good food at a great price. We visit here at least once or twice a month.

Their food tastes so fresh! Love this place. As another reviewer mentioned as well, I was skeptical about this place because of the horribly designed logo, but the food is delicious. You definitely can't judge a book by its cover in this case.Try the bbq chicken pizza!

I had a LivingSocial Pick up/Delivery coupon and chose to use it to TRY Newk's! I ordered the Grilled Shrimp Po'Boy for under $10 including one side and it was absolutely DELICIOUS. The shrimp was very fresh and not overcooked, and there were many shrimp on the sandwich. Fresh lettuce (dark green, not iceberg), pickles, red onions, tomato slices and oil/vinegar on top made it very tasty indeed! The side of coleslaw was good as well and it was a large serving. It was carryout but I interacted with 3 employees while waiting and they were all friendly and nice! So if you have not eaten here give it a try!!

I love Newks!!! Perfect lunch spot. Great if your pressed for time. They cater and do to-go as well. I've had all sorts of things on the menu, soup, salad, sandwiches, pizza. I don't know what it is but they have the best bread. he Newk's Q is my favorite. A white BBQ chicken sandwich, I don't know whats in it, nor do I want to but it works. Its easy to not feel so bad for yourself for grabbing a bite out since prices are low and there are calorie friendly options. And they serve beer and alcohol too. Everyone there is SOO nice, always a pleasant experience. Located in Town Brookhaven right after Publix.

This place is similar to panera, but SO much better! The ingredients and quality are great and you get free pickles! I always get the half vegetarian club with a soup and I have never disliked it! There is goat cheese, peppers, mushrooms, and pesto on the sandwhich! When a place uses goat cheese, you know it has to be good! I am excited to try out their pizzas soon!

Don't get me wrong. Overall, this place is good...it's clean, has pleasant staff and the salads and sandwiches are tasty. Don't, however, order a custom pizza. I tried twice to order a veggie pizza with tomato sauce and no cheese (vegan). On these two occasions, they messed it up a total of four times, never getting it right, always adding cheese and/or pesto. They get credit for trying Stick with items that are on the menu, don't order vegan, and you'll be happy.

If you love Pimiento cheese, you need to check out their pimiento cheese sandwich. Soooo delish! Great place for quick service and food always taste fresh! They use the best french bread on their sandwiches. You gotta check out this place.

Barbecue chicken pizza is as good as it gets for lunch! And if you want to go back for dinner try the Newk's Favorite salad or Newk's Q sandwich with side of "Tippah County caviar"

I've heard so many good things about Newk's, I actually made a trip to Brookhaven just to try it. Boy was I disappointed! I got half a sandwich and soup. The steak sandwich was FLAVORLESS. The soup was lukewarm and definitely tasted canned. My daughter got a pizza and she was happy. I tasted it and it wasn't bad, but I wouldn't return again to get it. The place was packed, so maybe I just ordered wrong, but I'll likely never return.

Newk's is excellent! I love that I know exactly what kind of quality food I will get. It's delicious every time. Whether you want a salad, soup, sandwich, or pizza, I really don't think there is anyone who could be dissatisfied with the menu options. My go-to is usuallyhalf of the Italian sandwich and half of the tomato bisque, but seriously, it's all amazing. As all my favorite restaurants seem to have, Newk's also has a patio dining option. It's a great spot to sit and have a sandwich and people watch in Town Brookhaven. The staff is always friendly, parking isn't a problem, and it's always clean inside. I'm not usually one to rave about a chain restaurant, but Newk's is one of the very few chains that keeps me coming back!

  • Don D.

I've been to Newk's twice and while it's not on the top of my list of places to go eat, both times it's been a great, quick lunch for me when I'm pressed for time but don't want to rot my gut with fast food. Both times I got the large Caesar salad and both times the quality was really good. The lettuce was nice and fresh and it had just the right amount of dressing. This is the perfect place if you are needing a quick lunch on a break or while running errands.

I'd give it 4.5 stars! The ham and chips lunch deal for $7.23 was a good value for being in midtown and the staff was nice enough. The meal tasted good, as well.

  • Heather T.

Decent place for salads and sandwiches, nothing special, nothing that will draw me back on my next trip to Atlanta, but good for a nice healthy lunch. The portion sizes were enormous, but I would prefer if dressing were not automatically mixed into the salad. Also, the name makes me think of microwaved food--not exactly appetizing.

I've never been impressed with Newk's catering, so I never made any effort to plan an outing at their restaurant, but now I'm disappointed in myself for choosing Panera over Newk's for so long. Despite their bistro prices (aka $9 for a sandwich), the offering is darn good. After standing for a long time trying to decide, I settled on the soup & half sandwich combo (thank goodness for combos!) - Newk's white bbq sandwich and a cup of lobster bisque. Mmm mmm! Definitely a great location for casual weekend brunch, study sessions, or if you just want to sit somewhere and read. Great patio space too! TIP: Be sure and ask them what their soup of the day is, because it is not posted anywhere, but it is usually the best option!

Today we ordered the Deluxe pizza from Newk's. And their Chix Salad is so good that it's hard not to leave this place without grabbing a container of it. So that's just what I did. That's what I always do. Anyway, after digging into my pizza I was going to come on here and write another 5 star review about how much I love Newk's. I was going to talk about how delicious the food is. I was going to talk about how they do everything right all of the time. I was going to mention to the yelp universe how my pizza from Newk's was "all toppings". When was the last time you or anyone you know said that their pizza was "all toppings"? Most people would pick one of two possible answers to this question. Either "a long time ago" or "never". Why? Because most pizzas are "all crust". Or "all sauce". Or "all cheese". But never are they "ALL toppings". I imagine this is because, to a pizza place, crust is probably cheap. Sauce is probably cheap. And cheese is probably cheap. But toppings? Toppings are expensive. So I was going to come on here and yelp* from the rooftop that my Newk's deluxe pizza was loaded with big chunks of delicious high quality toppings. It was like a red and yellow bell pepper wedding where the pepperoni married the ham on a field of cheese and artichokes then gave birth to dozens of plump olives and juicy mushrooms. It was a damn near perfect pizza event. I was going to say all of that. I was. But, as I was feverishly devouring this perfect marriage of multiple meats and valuable veggies I bit into something very hard and very rigid (pic included). At first, I thought it was a rock. It sure felt like a rock. But upon further inspection I think it was part of an olive pit that broke off and somehow made it's way into the ingredients and onto my pizza. Whatever it was, it was hard like a rock and very sharp along the edges. I would have no problem cutting skin with it if I chose to do so. It immediately brought to a halt any euphoric feelings I was experiencing through the discovery of an almost perfect pizza, and nearly tore up my grill. I understand that things like this can happen to even the best restaurants, which is why I'm only docking one star. I'm still a fan, but my quest to try everything on the menu @ Newk's will have to be put on hold for now. And even though my tooth hurts, my feelings are probably hurt more. Because Newk and I had the makings of a great relationship.

Pictures can be deceiving and that's how I would describe the food at this place. We paid $30 for a small sandwich and salad which lacked flavor. Service was good and the interior decor/seating is nice. However, the food was just not good for what we paid. There are too many other restaurants in the area that are way better.

This place is located in Town Brookhaven- past Publix. I believe I ordered a salad with bleu cheese, chicken, bacon, and all that good stuff. When my huge red bowl of salad came out, I was shocked. It was definitely on the HUGE side. It was filling and delicious. The worker at the front was friendly and very patient while I took quite a while trying to decide what to order, (thank you, patient Newk's worker). If you're trying to eat healthy, I would definitely recommend this place (tons of healthy options). Parking could be a bit difficult at night... if you're not lucky, you might have to spend 10 minutes driving around looking for a parking space. If you don't mind walking, there is a parking garage next to Olde Blind pub! :)

This was my second visit to Newk's. I was very impressed the first time there, much less so this time. My first visit was after the evening dinner rush and I got plenty of attention from the staff. This time it was Saturday lunch and neither the food not the ambience were as good. This time I had Nonna Nonagenarian with me, and that made me way more aware of what was going on around me. "Situational awareness," as we say. Nonna had a cup of chicken noodle soup and 1/2 a turkey sandwich. The soup was bland. The sandwich was blander. I had the shrimp po' boy. It was fine, but it sure didn't taste like New Orleans. By a long shot. The brownie we split was like a brownie you could find just about anywhere. We brought half of it back for Nonna's posse at the assisted living center. The ambience? Super noisy. The interior is all glass and brick and tile. Nothing to absorb sound. It sounded like the woman at the next table was shouting in my ear. The modern bathroom? Still modern, but in need of cleaning. Bottom line: 3-stars. A-OK.

I always love whatever I get a Newks and I really think you get a lot of bang for your buck with the amount of food they give you. My favorite sandwich is the grilled chicken sandwich. It comes with bacon, cheese, mayo, lettuce, tomato, honey mustard, and olive oil. So much flavor packed into this incredible sandwich. I also love the bread the sandwiches are served on here! Even though Newks is a chain and typically I steer away from chains this place always has me coming back for more. They also have magnificent looking cakes

This is an excellent sandwich / soup / salad restaurant. Really unique - the food is always amazing, and they even have outdoor seating. Parking is free, and the location is excellent. It is right in the Town Brookhaven shopping area. This is a great place to grab a delicious, reasonably priced lunch or dinner.

Kelly and I stopped by here recently for lunch and I would have to say it was a great overall experience. Pros: friendly staff, simple delicious food, great location, great lunch spot Cons: not the most adventurous menu (not a big con) I had the pepperoni pizza because I was feeling pretty basic. I ate every last bit and Kelly did the same with her salad. That's my word and I'm sticking to it.

I ordered catering from Newks for my birthday party earlier this year. The crowd loved it. They raved about the chicken salad sandwiches. That was the crowd favorite. I ordered a couple of the platters (sandwiches, salads, fruit etc). Newks was ready on time and provided everything that I needed. I'd use them again for catering.

This was my first visit to Newk's after a few months of casual observation from other restaurants in Town Brookhaven. I really wasn't even sure what kind of food they served until I checked out its Yelp listing. Newk's is fairly reminiscent of a Panera - salads, soups, and sandwiches - with a much larger variety of options - with less focus on the bakery aspect; and with pizza options. The price point is also about the same. This particular Newk's location is huge, there's a very large dining space, a huge kitchen, there's a grab and go area, their condiments bar is probably the most comprehensive I've ever seen (assorted olives, croutons, hot sauce, sriracha, various dressings, etc)! There's even a sink station in between the men's and women's bathrooms. Mind blown. For both our entrees we chose the soup and sandwich combo - I was really after their lobster bisque, but they have such a large soup menu - they only have five soups available per day, and the soups available depend on the day of the week (I believe the lobster bisque is available on Wednesdays). So I chose the mushroom bisque with their pimento sandwich, and the BF went with the Italian sandwich and a bowl of chili. Both sandwiches were pretty good (both well toasted and bursting with flavor! ) - though quite small in portion, the soup was a much larger portion size. I did quite enjoy the bisque at first, but the mushroom flavor became too overwhelming. The chili I much more enjoyed. I will definitely have to come back on another Wednesday for my lobster bisque fix!

Newk's is great! All of their food is delicious, but I absolutely love the Royal sandwich! I get it with the smoked ham and oven-roasted turkey, genoa salami, swiss cheese, romaine lettuce, tomato, and spicy Creole mustard. It is the perfect sandwich when you want something light and fresh! I also really like the environment of this restaurant. Everyone is so friendly and helpful! I can't wait to go back!

Newk's is pretty good! I have searched for a really good Italian sandwich in the ATL area...I have now found it! Newk's actually competes with Joe's in Boone! And...if you see my review of Joe's, you will know how much I love his Italian! Found Newk's quite by accident, the one down in Newnan...was coming back from Columbus, was hungry and decided to try it. Almost left when I saw the line out the door...but it moved quickly. Then found out that this is a small chain...with several in the ATL area, including this one in Brookhaven...closest to my home. Ok...so the Italian is great (leave off the Creole Mustard...that does not EVEN BELONG on an Italian sandwich)...wifey tried the Roast Beef and loved it. Today I tried the Pepperjack/Crawfish soup...really good as well. And, finally...the Caramel Cake...EXCELLENT! Service is always good...so...5 stars!

Newk's is good sandwich chain. I'd describe it as a notch above Subway and Jason's Deli aspirational. They offer sandwiches, soups and salads and combinations of all three. They also offer pizza, which I have yet to try. Food: Hit or miss. I have had the Chicken Salad sandwich and loved it! I also have had a Turkey Sandwich and found it to be "Okay". I have had the Ceasar salad and it was pretty good, and finally i have had the Squash soup and found it pretty bland and meh. Service: Order at the counter, they will give you a number to stand on your table and bring the food out you when it is ready. Atmosphere: Casual with outdoor seating. One selling point which I find both exciting and puzzling is that they sell bottled beer. I did not order one but found it to be rather random. But hey, no qualms about beer! In fact, everyone should sell beer.. You hear that Baskin Robbins? I think an IPA float is in order. Bring: Hot Sauce. This food needs a kick. Wear: A football Jersey.

Went here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. YUM! I had: - Italian sammy: it had the variety of DUH-licious Italian meat; capicola, mortadella, pepperoni, salami, provolone cheese, mayo, spicy Creole mustard, lettuce, tomato, yellow onions, hot cherry peppers and Italian sauce. Meat portions were good, and I enjoyed the sammy very much! - Tomato Basil Soup: GENEROUS portion of this!! It was super good, and had chunks of tomato in the soup! I will order this again!! Really good tomato soup! Service was fast, and friendly. I saw many other dishes that I will try when I go back. They have salads, pizza, and a variety of other sammys! Great lunch spot! Out door seating, NICE! They also have a condiment bar with peppercinis, jalapenos, croutons, capers, and pickles.

I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch at Newks with my honey. We had soup and salad with half sandwich combos and sweet tea. It was a lovely day so we sat on the patio and soaked up a little bit of sun. I had the black bean soup with a half roast beef sandwich and my babe had a house salad with balsamic and half of an Italian sandwich. Everything was delicious and I love loved the black bean soup. Located in Town Brookhaven towards the front next to Publix, I can't believe I just recently had a meal here.... Recommended to all, affordable, fresh, tasty and made me want to come back again and again. They also have chicken salads etc pre-packed for a quick to-go option! Check this place out I bet all the money I don't have that you'll love it.

Bleh. I've really never been tempted to try Newk's - something about the name and the color scheme just makes me feel like it's grimy - but I gave it a shot for the first time today, since I was running errands in the area and was really jonesing for a salad. I was pleasantly surprised by the ambiance and service, but unpleasantly not surprised by the food. Granted, I got my meal takeout, so perhaps something was lost in translation. But my Greek salad with chicken was pretty uninspired; I really didn't like the chicken (it was definitely not grilled, it seemed like some weird version of a cold-cut) or the dressing (really oily, and not in a good way - reminded me of the kind that comes in a plastic Kraft bottle. not my jam). Also - this "Fresh Tossed Salad" was not tossed. At all. All in all, I guess it's not objectionable. For food alone, I would've given 2 stars. Very nice, clean, efficient (my food came out really quickly and the cashier was pleasant), and I think if I had ordered something that relies less on the freshness of the ingredients, I would've liked it more. Ah well. Probably won't be back unless someone else makes me.

Newk's is a nice little chain that offers sandwiches, salads, soups, pizzas, and desserts. The shrimp pizza was scrumptious, as was the ever so marvelous crab and corn chowder. It's a perfect spot for grabbing a quick, casual bite.

Love Newks! I work right next door at EWC and it's my go-to place in Town Brookhaven. I always get the Barbecue Chicken pizza or the Turkey Breast Sandwich. They have a lot of different choices, which I like. They know my name when I walk in, which I really appreciate! I eat here at least 3 times a month. They also cater!

So i use to eat at newks in birmingham alabama so much so that I got tired of it. That happens though. I had not been there in quite a while so I wasn't excited to go. I had a club sandwich and I was impressed. Tasted really good! Everything was quick and efficient. Definitely will go back if i need a quick sandwich or salad. Reminded me of the mitch hedberg joke about the club sandwich. If you have never heard it then you should youtube. Yes, do that now

I had heard good things, so decided to try for myself. I mistakenly parked in the 15 min area, knowing it'd be longer. But fhe food came out quickly, the lobster crab bisque was amazing, so much so that the teally good italian sandwich was an afterthought. Will come by again!

My parents just love this place and like to have lunch or dinner (usually prompt take out) whenever they can. Yesterday I tried it, with them of course, and have to say it is great! Very clean, and NPWH. Busy at lunchtime, even on the late side when we went close to two. They have everything from soups to sandwiches to salads and pizza. My dad simply raves about this hot grilled chicken sandwich they have and since I was torn be two of their (large) salads, I went with his fave: sliced grilled chicken, swiss, tomato, bacon, and leafy (not shredded iceburg which I simply detest- no Subway for this girl!) and it was awesome. As usual, I didn't finish it so I had the other half for dinner. Know that mayonnaise normally comes on it and homey mustard on the side, so ask if you want it differently. You get your choice of chips, pasta salad, or soup as your side. The soft drinks/ice tea cups are huge. Free refills but none of us needed one! They do serve a small selection of wine and (bottled) beer. A lot of their salads sound great and they really are huge. Mom is on some diet so she went with the Asian pick with chicken and balsamic on the side; she enjoyed and I thought it looked tasty. I want to try the Ultimate Salad on a future visit- it sounds delicious with that grilled chicken, turkey, ham, cucumber, tomato...though I might just get it with chicken, you know? Parking is always a challenge at Brookhaven Place, so it's no surprise that a popular place like this is a task getting into most times of the day. You may have to go down to the garage, but it's dicey to park in the Publix lot right next door since they've gotten close to starting to boot cars and that always sucks! They also cater and there seemed to be a solid number of catered orders going out (maybe it's the time of year but that seems to be a good business for them and I'd definitely be happy if I worked somewhere that ordered it!) and the to-go cooler section (you can also get it if you call ahead or ask at the regular counter) is stocked with more simple sandwich (also, they are cold, no hot options) and all the same side choices, chips, etc. A separate counter makes it quicker to get in and out. This place is so close to me, reasonably priced (hard to get a good lunch, especially if you take part home and will actually eat it later), with good food and a pleasant atmosphere. Two thumbs up!

This was a tasty lunch. We enjoyed all of the fresh ingredients in each item. We had their 4 cheese Mac and Cheese, Lobster Bisque, Fresh Fruit and their signature sandwich, Newk's Q. Newk's Q sandwich had nice flavors from the chicken, mushrooms and creamy sauce between fresh grilled French bread Mmmm. The 4 cheese Mac and cheese had a nice creaminess to it and was my little girl's fav. The atmosphere is a welcoming environment for families as well as a casual lunch. The price is a good deal for the quality and quantity of product. We'd definitely go back!

Eh. I went here because my sorority sister raves about this place. She always gets the salads or something else and never sandwiches though so maybe I should have followed her lead. I got the turkey sandwich that comes with chips. You have options of other sides but I saw my favorite bag of chips and wanted those. The sandwich is a hot sandwich. Nothing to hoot and holler about. maybe i will go back and try the summer strawberry salad before it goes out of season. That looked good. But I will give them another try. #Yelp100

I love this place! I tried it out yesterday for the first time and I definitely will be going back! I first heard of Newk's on a visit to Tuscaloosa, AL but never got a chance to try them. I had the Ultimate Crab soup and the Newk's Q sandwich(BBQ chicken sandwich with white sauce and bacon) that was very tasty! I can't wait to go back! Oh and try the Strawberry Cake for dessert.

I can't believe I've been here over 10 times and still never wrote a review. I used to be a Panera lover, but after their portions have shrunk drastically, I come to Newk's. The prices are really good for the portions you get. Customer service is awesome. They have a cool condiments bar with cheese, breadsticks, croutons, marinated peppers, olives, pickles, and roasted garlic (my fave!). Here are some things you might want to order if it is your first visit: Mediterranean Pizza Newk's Chicken Salad (ask for dressing on the side) Newk's "Q" Sandwich (white bbq chicken sandwich) Pimento Cheese Sandwich (if you are vegetarian) I really like this place because they have been consistent every time! No surprises, but they serve the same great food whenever you go. And another reason why it's better than Panera is because there is always enough seating, they bring the food to your table, and you don't have to clean up your own tables after eating. Maybe I should just stop comparing it to Panera since it now seems to be in a league of its own.

Been here a bunch of times and cant complain much about anything. Cobb salad is great with ranch. Had the corn and crab soup which is really good. Also, tried the tuna sandwich which was good. only issue was the bread was toasted and it was really warm. It actually cooked the tuna which was probably rare at the time they made it. It was to go and by the time I got home tuna was like tuna fish. Everything else was cold, arugula and garlic mayo. next time will ask if they wont toast the bread. will be back.

First time coming here. We were originally going to try Bua but it was closed (What! They didn't even have an operating hours sign on their door), so we decided to try Newk's after seeing all the good reviews on Yelp. First of all this restaurant is huge! Very spacious, including when you first come in and order and all the seats and booths. They have a bunch of toasted sandwiches, salads, soups, and pizzas that you can choose from. You order and pay at the front, take a number and then find your own seating. We both got the 1/2 sandwich+soup combination which was about $7+ each meal, not bad. I ordered the Italian sandwich with the mushroom bisque. Hubby ordered the Newk's Q (chicken breast with white bbq sauce, etc) and chili. The bread was perfectly toasted and delightful, Italian sandwich was very flavorful. It wasn't super complex or anything, but I liked the mushroom bisque as well. The Newk's Q sandwich was also a burst of flavor with moist tender chicken. I'm not a huge chili person but I thought it tasted good. The portion size was just right for me, but a little small for my husband, and he still felt a little hungry afterward. If I could suggest any changes for Newk's, it would be to make the sandwiches bigger. We are Costco members so we plan on going back : )

I don't know why they get high rating. I give them 3.5 stars. I got lobster crab bisque soup - unfortunately, I taste better than this one. Grilled steak sandwich wasn't a wowie, but edible. 3.5 stars!

Diverse menu, fresh salads, choice of protein, soup choices, very decent wines by the glass, appealing desserts, make this a comfortable, casual, place for quality, fast food dining. My wife and I enjoyed sharing a salad with grilled salmon, a chicken pesto sandwich (great bread), a cup of white bean chili soup (could have been hotter both in spice and heat), a glass of wine each, and a brownie (to go), all for around $37. Obviously, we look forward to returning here.

Believe it or not i have nothing bad to say about Newks. I want to open one out of town and get $$money. Everything is great! Salads are full of variety, sandwiches are extremely tasty and the soups are killer! Newks could shut a lot of food spots down because they have great selection and its all so "yummy"

I love this place! They serve super fresh and tasty sandwiches and I'm a huge fan of the pickles at the condiment bar. My guy and I stopped by for an early dinner and were both really happy with our menu choices. I loved my roast beef sandwich and he enjoyed his turkey sandwich. We both thought the food was "super yummy!" We enjoyed the fact that the sandwiches were served warm and toasted! We'll definitely be returning to Newk's again soon!

I'm at Town Brookhaven regularly for work so I've been to Newk's at least 20 times over the past year and have never had a meal I didn't enjoy. From the sandwiches, to the pizza's, to the salads, to the soups, every meal I've had was fresh, packed with flavor and delicious. Whether you're looking for a quick meal for lunch or you want to relax on their patio for a long meal, Newk's is great, and you can't beat their pricing. Plus, the staff is very friendly! If you haven't tried Newk's you need to go!

Never heard of this place until yesterday, & OMG I LOVED it! The Newk's Q chicken sandwich was the bomb.com . The taste just burst my taste buds out my mouth. This location is a really relaxing place for studies, meetings, or just plain hanging out with friends/family. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Newk's Eatery!

Solid 4 Stars. For a simple soup/salad/sandwich menu, Newk's seems to get each item right. Try the pesto chicken sandwich with goat cheese, my personal favorite. The salads are delicious and are VERY healthy portions!

I am very impressed by Newk's in Town Brookhaven. They make a damn good sandwich here! Last weekend when the fiance and I were on our way to Costco we decided to have lunch first. We were on our way to Noche, but noticed that it was only 11:30 and Noche was not opened yet, so we decided to give Newk's a try. At first when pulling up to Newk's we didn't really know what to expect. Their sign design looks like a kid's clothing store or something, but it's actually a deli/cafe. So when we walked inside we were pleased that the place looked very clean and they had a good selection of sandwiches on the menu. The service was very friendly and two cashiers greeted us as we walked in ready to take our orders. The fiance ordered the Newk's "Q" toasted sandwich; grilled chicken breast, Applewood smoked bacon and Swiss cheese topped with a white bbq sauce in a toasted sub roll. I ordered the Italian toasted sandwich; capicola, mortadella, pepperoni, salami, provolone cheese, mayo, spicy Creole mustard, lettuce, tomato, yellow onions, hot sliced cherry peppers and Italian dressing on a toasted sub roll. Both sandwiches were pretty amazing and busting with flavor. Not to mention they have a pretty cool toppings bar complete with pickles, garlic, capers, peppers, etc. After writing this review I think I might just use my lunch break today to head over to Newk's for another sandwich. It is just that damn good! ***Update 1:38PM Like I said earlier that writing that review made me want another sandwich from Newk's, so I headed down there on my lunch break. Just as last weekend the service and food was spectacular! This time I tried the Newk's Royal Club; salami, ham, turkey, roast beef, Swiss cheese, mayo, spicy Creole mustard, lettuce and tomato on a sub roll with pasta salad. Freakin' Awesome Again!

I had the pleasure of getting the whole history of Newk's from a buddy from Monroe, LA who went to Ole Miss. This sandwich shop is legit. There is a large menu that has a lot of various options. I went with the Steak And Blue Sandwich and it did not disappoint. They have lots of options for take out goodies such as roasted garlic, sauces and Parmesan cheese. A great stop if I'm in the area and need a sandwich for sure.

One word for Newk's - Reliable You will enjoy your food here every single time. It is not the best food in the world but it is pretty good and they really don't have anything bad on the menu. I recommend the Steak Sandwich and Tomato Bisque soup.

Love the spicy shrimp pizza with the thin delicious crust. Some people might find it too fiery, but I love the heat. It cleared the congestion I was suffering from because of the code red ozone level and the 103 degree temperature. The restaurant is clean, modern, streamlined and efficient. Our order was ready in less than 10 minutes. My friend loved her steak sandwich and her salad was beautiful. I can't wait to try the vegetarian pizzas. Service was quick and friendly. For people easily confused like me, it might not seem evident where to place your order upon entering the restaurant. Go straight until you bump into a counter. You place your order there, since there is no table service. There is a condiment station, drink station, open kitchen and two dining areas. I would give this restaurant 5 stars, but our table had not been cleaned well (even though the restaurant was immaculate) and the setup is a bit confusing. If you're meeting someone there, it is awkward to figure out whether to order something or stand there looking stupid until your dining partner arrives. I really didn't want to sit at a table in a restaurant that doesn't offer table service without ordering something.

This place easily rivals and crushes chain establishments like Panera and Corner Bakery. It's a similar concept -- soups, salad, sandwiches but with pizza. The food is fresh, made to order. My favorite item is the spicy shrimp pizza. It has a thin, crispy crust with spicy peppers, onions, garlic, olive oil, and of course shrimp that's slightly charred. I never thought I'd love shrimp on pizza! The prices are reasonable. The portion sizes are generous. The service is fast and friendly. The only draw back is parking but that is the case with any of the establishments inside of Town of Brookhaven. My suggestion is to pass Newk's and park around the corner near the Marshall's. Parking in the Publix lot is just as congested and crazy.

Sandwich was just okay, the club, sort of messy and the bread wasn't as good as I hoped. Maybe I need to try a different sandwich or go for a salad. I work within walking distance and will probably come back to try some other things from the menu. Service was fast at least!

Wow! Nice place, friendly fast service and delicious food that got me in and out during my lunch break in time. As this was my first time here, I took my time to look over the menu. It is quite extensive and there is something for everyone's tastes. I settled on the BBQ chicken pizza and a small cup of the lobster and corn soup. This is the kind of establishment where you order at the counter and they bring the food to you. As soon as I sat down, about 10 min. later my food arrived. The pizza was delicious, a bit over sauced, and the pizza crust was a bit too thin to handle all of the toppings, but thats why they gave you a fork and knife to eat with! The chicken wasn't just cubes of meat, it was actually thinly, sliced chicken breasts. So good! The soup came in a pretty big bowl, mind you I had ordered a small and was very pleasantly surprised. It was really good, although I could barely taste the lobster, it still had really good flavor.

Easily one of the best sandwiches I've ever had.

  • Theresa S.

The food was all delicious! But the soup portion for the half sandwich/half soup 'to-go' was really small. I am wondering if it is more substantial when dining in because it was excellent soup. I had the Grilled Steak and Cheese/Broccoli soup - no complaints on taste or quality. Staff was friendly and I like the 1/2 priced beer and wine on Fridays!

  • Jess L.

Newk's is like Panera on steriods. The food is fresh and tastes great. They will bring your food to you when you sit down but it's not wait service (a la Jason's deli). The cashiers and servers are awfully friendly. Salads are huge, soup bowls are even bigger. Normal sized sandwiches. We always feel like Newk's is a good "healthy" eating-out option! I LOVE U NEWK'S!

    (5)
  • Kathy H.

Newk's who what? I had never heard of this place until now. I realized they offer dine-in, grab-and-go, and catering options. Newk's was very punctual and had the food ready by lunch time to feed our company. I had the 1/2 croissant filled with pimento cheese sandwich. Then, i added a side salad (onions, feta cheese, & artichokes) and their signature chili (corn, tomatoes, & chicken). I was disappointed with their rice crispy. It was huge but too dry for me. I like my rice crispy chewy with lots of marshmallows.

Still not sure how you pronounce it, so I will just call it good! Had the ham sandwich and the chicken noodle soup. Both were very good. Friendly, clean interior. Nice people who didn't mind that the wife and I share. Good food! Great Price! New to Georgia

I've really, really, REALLY tried to like this place, but I just can't. I've been on three separate occasions and ordered three different things. It seems I'm the only one in the world that doesn't care for Newk's. The first time I visited, I ordered some chicken salad thing. I don't even remember it except I didn't like it enough to take the leftovers, and that's saying a lot for me. The second time, I ordered the black and bleu "steak" salad. It was swimming in blue cheese dressing and the steak was disgusting. I'm pretty sure it was roast beef sliced extremely thin. I ate about a third of my salad and left it. The third time, I ordered the shrimp remoulade salad with the dressing on the side. It was pretty good. I didn't finish it, but did eat more than the first two times combined. My fiancé has liked everything he's ordered, but we both agree that there is way too much effing salad dressing on the salads. The portions are huge, which is great if you like what you're eating. Even though I don't care for Newk's, chances are that I will return. They have half-priced beer and wine on Friday's, and I've been instructed to order the pizza or the lobster bisque next time. Props for the little pickle/olive bar. I love me some bread and butter pickles. Oh, and you get to keep their cool cups. Hey, free stuff!

Went here for a quickie lunch with the fam...and guess what? I liked it. Service is quick (basically order, get your drinks, display your number and wait for your tasty food to come out). The menu is simple, sandwiches, salads, soups and pizza, but there is lots of variety among the categories and the serving sizes, especially on the salads are ginormous. I made the mistake of getting the pimento cheese, which I normally love love love love, but the sandwich here was toasted, which turned my sandwich into a somewhat greasy mess...more like a sloppy grilled cheese than traditional pimento cheese, but that was my bad...I didn't notice the toasted part when i read the menu. Either way, Newk's uses yummy bread and their white bean and smoked sausage soup was served up super hot and perfectly seasoned. Can I add that their tea is delicious? I would love to buy it by the gallon and slowly OD on it at home. Next time I'm trying a pizza. I think this place is in a great location and a great addition to the neighborhood. I picked up a to go menu and have the feeling that before long, Newk's may be on speed dial for those lazy days. Service is very friendly, managers come around to check on you, food is simple and fresh, prices are fair and the interior itself is clean, casual and inviting, albeit nothing fancy.

Of all the restaurant choices in Town Brookhaven, this seems to be the best option right now. I'm not a sandwich person, but these are good. I think it's the warm baguette that makes them better. The roast beef, pimento cheese and chicken salad are all good options. We usually get the half sandwich and salad. We're not fans of their house salad, but do like the caesar. The salad entrees are enormous and could feed more than one person. I haven't had much luck with their soups. They'll let you sample them before ordering which is nice. Also the condiment bar with bread sticks is a nice touch.

Are you looking for a great place to grab a delicious soup/salad/sandwich? Look no further. I was dissuaded at first because of the name. I thought, "Newks? Does that mean they 'nuke' everything in the microwave? I wonder if you buy food and there is a bay of microwaves to cook your own food - like something out of a cheesy, 80's sci-fi, future based movie." Answer: No. Menus are on the wall to your right just inside the door, and the cashier's are straight ahead. Once you know what you want, place your order, take your number, grab a drink and saddle up to a table. They'll bring your food out in just a few moments. Usually, less than ten minutes. If they're not packed - much less than ten minutes! In the middle of the restaurant, before the drink station, is a little condiment bar: hot sauce, bread sticks, croutons, crackers, Parmesan cheese, pickles, capers, chickpeas, hot peppers... grab a little plastic ramekin and fill it up. They have a rotating soup menu, offering four or five different soups every day. I, myself, have tried the Broccoli Cheese (standard, good), the vegetarian Fire Roasted Tomato (chunks of real tomato and basil, slight kick to it - drizzled with olive oil, sometimes they put too much, perhaps get it without), and the Lobster Crab Bisque (rich and hearty, very flavorful - can become overpowering if not eaten with a salad or sandwich). They do combos - a half sandwich and a big bowl of soup, half sandwich and a half salad, or a half salad and a big bowl of soup. Great price, and very filling. I've also have the Shrimp Remoulade salad - it's pretty big, very good. After about half of the salad the Remoulade dressing can develop a bit of a kick to it. The Vegetarian Club is delicious - even my carnivore husband has ordered it twice! And the Pimiento Cheese Sandwich is to die for. Seriously. They also do pizza's, which I have not yet had the pleasure of eating - but I'm sure I will get to soon enough. And for those of you who have jobs and would like something on-the-go, they have a little pre-made and packaged section, just to the left of the entrance. And FYI: for those of you who love al fresco dining, or can't do anything without your four-legged fur-baby, they do have an outside, gated patio area. NOTE: I was slightly confused about tipping. If you pay with credit card, there is nowhere on the receipt to fill in a tip amount. I asked a manager about it and he stated that because it's not a "restaurant, per se, but counter service - there's not really anyone to tip. If we felt so inclined, a dollar for the busboy is nice but by no means should we feel obligated." I take this to mean that they pay their staff more than the waiter's minimum wage - and that makes me happy.

I just love this place for a big salad....and they are just that the salads could feed a family or just one hungry girl :) Also surprisingly the pizza is really great too...and comes in a friendly size. The tea here also provides a nice suprise, as they have "spenda sweetened" tea--which i love....and make sure to snag that big old newks plastic take home cup and give them that free marketing they oh so dont need but when you realize how great the tea is you will def get a big refill before heading home. big fan of this place and a great summer patio area as well

When my coworker came here he said it took them forever to get his food, it was so bad the manager came and gave him $10 gift certificate. So I wanted to see how it is, I timed it "Seven minutes" after I seated the food came out, grilled steak sandwich and loaded potato soup. The potato was a little under cooked but it was quite delicious. I've tried various soups but by far loaded potato soup is the best, it's not over seasoned and the presentation is very nice, drizzle of sour cream, and in the middle bacon bits island with trees (chopped scallions).

My wife and I have been here twice in the last two weeks, so that should tell you that I really like the place. I almost gave it a 3, however, due to the salad my wife received last week. The first time we came my wife ordered a pizza and I got a chicken pesto sandwich. They were both excellent! The setting, inside the Brookhaven plaza, is great and we sat outside and people-watched. We decided to go for a late lunch last week and I ordered the pizza this time and my wife ordered a cobb salad. Once again, my pizza was fantastic. Her salad came in a HUGE bowl and was filled with greens. There were a few, difficult to cut, shreds of chicken, croutons, and a very little blue cheese dressing mixed in. We didn't see many of the things that make a cobb salad a cobb salad! We added dressing, salt, and pepper to give it a little flavor, and we both took a couple of bites. I then stirred it around really well and found a little bacon and egg at the bottom. Overall, the salad was bland and we definitely will not order again. We will be back for the pizza and the sandwiches! I can't wait to try them all...

I was very impressed. The restaurant was clean, the staff was friendly and the food came out in a timely/correct manner. The salads are huge and they do not skimp on the meat. I had the Newks Favorite and it was delicious. So I give it 5 stars for what it is - fast, can be-healthy, delicious meal.

My favorite lunch place. Great sandwiches on nice soft bread made fast and fresh. The salads are also really good. A nice lunch even when you are in a hurry. And if you really don't have time they have some simpler remade sandwiches in the front. Also surprisingly some of the best sweet tea I've ever had.

Welcome to the neighborhood!! Newk's moved into Brookhaven 2 months ago and I am so glad they did! The BF and I were driving around Town Brookhaven last night looking for a semi-healthy option. From the outside, we weren't 100% sure what Newk's was but figured we should give it a try! They offer soups, salads, pizza, sandwiches, cakes, cookies, plus pre-made ready to go options. I had the Pimento Cheese sandwich and southern cavier. The sandwich was served on french bread with tomato slices, its was cheesy and delicious. The cavier is a black eyed pea salad with pickled peppers and an oil & vinegar dressing - very good! The BF had the Newk's Q - chicken & cheese sandwich served on French bread with white BBQ sauce (a mayo based sauce). The BF said it was ok but that the white BBQ sauce was too much, however, he hates mayo. They give you a re-usable cup for your soda/tea. Does that mean I can bring it back each time for a free refill?? Newk's offers Splenda sweet tea - it was good, but I prefer the real thing. The experience was great, the service fast and the food yummy! Plus they offer catering and will even deliver to places in Buckhead.

I randomly went here the other night because I was in the neighborhood and my expectations were not high... I assumed it was yet another sandwich joint. Man was I wrong. Yes, they do serve sandwiches, but they were inventive and delicious. Salad was pretty awesome too. I didn't try it, but another table had a pizza that looked delicious. I like the "goody bar" that had roasted garlic, parmesian, croutons, etc. I'll be back!!!

For one reason or another I end up at Town Brookhaven all the time. Newk's has quickly become my favorite lunch spot there. The daily soups are some of the most flavorful soups I've had anywhere. My favorite is the lobster bisque... so good. I usually get half a sandwich and a cup of soup, but the pizza is excellent too. Highly recommended.
