A work group came here for dinner after a long day on our feet. The service was super quick and the food was delicious. It was great to end the day really relaxing.

This was without a doubt, the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant. I just spent 3 hours at this restaurant and left without even getting dinner. Where to begin... I went here with a group from work after a conference. This place is right next door to the GWCC, so you would think they would know and be prepared when there are big conferences in town. Apparently their planning skills are about as good as their ability to serve food (pretty much the bare minimum to call yourself a restaurant). To say the least, they obviously weren't prepared. I had a reservation made for 7:30. We were seated at 7:45. Not so bad, as it was busy, but that was the least amount of time we waited for anything. After being seated it took about 15 minutes to even see a waiter. When he finally came over, we ordered wine for the table. That took another 15 to 20 minutes at least. After being at the restaurant for an hour and a half, we only had bread and wine (which the bread also took forever). We ordered appetizers and entrees. After asking more times than I can even count, we finally got some appetizers, in a scattered fashion. There were at best ok. At this point, there still was no apology, no urgency to correct the situation, and despite complaining to several staff members, absolutely NO signs of the manager. Finally we asked for the manager specifically. He came over but barely had anything to say. We are over 2 hours in at this point. I should note that I'm a fairly forgiving person, as I've worked in the industry a long time, but this restaurant is run so poorly that I couldn't even begin to understand how they are in business. Our waiter was clearly busy, but the number of fellow waiters/ waitresses/ hosts/ bussers that walked by our table without acknowledging anything, refilling th water or bread, or notifying a manger is a testament to how poorly trained the staff is and how little teamwork and basic principles of running a restaurant are not even touched on in this place. 3 hours later, we decided we didn't even care about the food, we just wanted to leave. Feeling like prisoners, it took forever to even get a check and the manager barely apologized. They charged us only for the wine, but after this experience, I can't believe we even paid for that. I will never go to this chain again. Get your shit together. I could have had a better meal at McDonalds. Probably because I might have actually gotten food there.

Here are my issues: 1. Service was slow - we had to ask for a server and she she finally showed up was slow!!! 2. The semi-private room we were sat in was FILLED with fruit flies! 3. My friend's salad had a piece of plastic bag in it. 4. I had 2 of the same drinks and each one was different :-/ 5. Did I saw it was slow?!?!? I won't be back...not worth the money to me!

This restaurant was just across the street from the Omni hotel where I was staying. I had been to a number of these on the West Coast and have good service and food quality. Unfortunately, this was NOT the case with my visit to the Atlanta M&S. I had a business dinner there and the entree was lackluster. The scallops had no sear on them and could have just as well been microwaved. Start with a hot pan next time! Really shameful for a seafood restaurant. The service was a bit hurried and we were never offered dessert. With so many good seafood restaurants in the area, I won't be coming back here next time I'm in town.

We had to flag down someone to take our order after 20 min. The food was pretty good, but that is unacceptable for a $$$ restaurant.

Omg where do I start. Ambiance loud for no reason, bunch of pompous individuals trying to flex. Decor was very nice, not to dark and not to light perfect lighting. The meal. Appetizer left a lot to be desired, shrimp wrapped in bacon essentially was what it was. Not very good, shrimp small and not succulent. Main course, I had the scallops, rubbery, dry, chewy, and small for the price. Quantity was insufficient for 30 dollars, and then to sit them on a bed of what essentially was hash Browns made them less palatable. Drink menu ok, nothing to write home about.

This was quite an experience, nice atmosphere, friendly service, food was good, the bread wasn't up to par, it was a bit pricey, but everything else was esquisite.

Although the server was very nice and tried to be accomodating it was poor experience. Every course took an extremely long time. They did not have enough champagne glasses for the table for a birthday toast. I wil say the appetizers were very good especially the mussles A couple of people in our party were disappointed in there fish entress...over cooked. Kobe burger was excellent. After waiting 20 minutes to place a dessert order the server advise against as it would take 20 plus minutes for desserts to be ready. It was an underwhelming experience.

Ate at the bar here for happy hour. My bartender Brittany was great. I got the shrimp and grits and agave rita which were both amazing!!! This is my first time in atlanta and this restaurant is in a great convenient location. You see it on the corner street and its located right by the CNN center and walking distance from the world congress center. Good was 10/10 which I was surprised.... I havent had great experiences at the one in Anaheim so im glad I. Enjoyed this location

This place gets 4 stars for the food & service. The price, not so much. It's really expensive. I would like to come back again but only when I'm in the 'let's-break-the-bank-mood'. Had the crab dip to start, creamy, warm dip with light crispy pita chips. Sounds easy to make but doubt I'll ever make it like them. Next we had shared the steak & lobster mixed grill. The seafood was done superb, the steak medium rare to perfection. Our waiter was kind enough to split the dish into two plates though there wasn't any plate layout, it didn't matter. We had a creamed spinach side, that dish was smooth, creamy, warm, overall tasty. A must order if you like spinach. We shared our entre to make room for dessert. Had the Chef's favourite of banana bread pudding. It was so light, we didn't even taste any bread. Everything just melted in the mouth. First you'll see a bowl full of baked sweetened egg white, dig inside, you'll find the pudding (soft like flan) plus meshed bananas, and when you get a spoonful, you'll see the different textures on one scoop plus the rich dark caramel. I died and went to dessert heaven.

This is a very nice restaurant, but if you're looking for a date night spot I wouldn't necessarily recommend this place because it surely isn't quiet. It isn't super casual and isn't fit for a quick meal. Definitely book reservations ahead of time. There is a bar area where there is no wait, and luckily my mom and I were very fortunate that we snagged the one booth in the bar area as soon as we walked in. It is pricey, but considering the type of food served and ambience, it's understandable. The waitress was very nice and the food quality was good, but if you order a cocktail be prepared for it to take a while. Fortunately we weren't in a hurry, but the hot apple pie drink was perfect post-dinner. Everything we sampled was delicious, including the andouille sausage and shrimp mac n cheese, though I didn't see anything that really stood out as an item I couldn't order at another nice restaurant in town. The biggest draw for me was the parking garage across the street and its connection to the CNN, so it's a perfect location to eat if you're looking for a very nice dinner before a concert or other event downtown.

This seafood place is a bit on the pricey side, but the food quality is indeed high. The place is upscale, though, so be sure to at least put on a nice pair of pants! I had the Blackened Rainbow Trout, and it was one of the finer trouts I've had. The service here was also quite good. If you're looking for some upscale seafood in the Atlanta area, McCormick and Schmick's is a good place to try!

Great service and food, set up reservations in advance for the Kevin Hart show; glad I did because everyone was trying to get on here. The proximity to Phillips, Olympic park and the Ferris wheel makes this a plus location. Also it's not far from the sky lounge which gives you another option for after dinner.

Waitress really talked up the steaks. They were below average in both quality and flavor. In fact, pretty much everything was flavorless, not to mention very overpriced. We were a party of 8, and not one of us was impressed by their $50 meal. Waitress was very nice, otherwise this would be 1 star. Tourist trap. Open your Yelp app, you can find something better.

Nothing like coming to a very nice restaurant, and be told by the hostess to go see in the lobby because there are large parties about to be seated in the main room. Then not to be talk or greeted or acknowledge for 10 minutes straight in the bar area. Fail

My mom and I had dinner here after the Nutcracker performance for Christmas. I ordered the Salmon, and she ordered the Trout--both with vegetables and no starch. We also ordered wedge salads. The service was really slow, and the waitress ended up getting our order wrong. Once it was corrected, the food was really good. Just took forever to get it!

If it looks like a chain and smells like a chain... Sat at bar. Waited on wine. Waited longer on moules and frites. Watched servers fighting. Watched bartender #1 ignore customers and servers to flirt...a lot Smelled bartender #2 when he came back from smoke break...nasty Watched lesbian server get pissed because bartenders were flirting with lipstick hotties Served wedge salad...average at best Served over cooked room temp moules Served frozen frites...McDonalds would be better Begrudgingly paid $50 Glass of Cryptic Red saved the day Damn the 4 degree temps...should've had an Altoid and went to bed.

Pretty solid choice if you're downtown and looking for a nice lunch or dinner at a good chain. It's not cheap, but the food is pretty good. I had a wedge salad and mussels as my meal. The salad was huge and easily shared between me and my husband. The blue cheese dressing was soo creamy and good. The mussels weren't bad. A little on the small side but there were plenty of them. They came with toasted bread covered in butter- perfect for soaking up the sauce. My husband had an entree with swordfish and crabmeat. He swapped out the mushrooms and spinach it came with for mashed potatoes. When they brought it out the veggies were still there but our waitress was on it and got his potatoes. The bites I stole were quite tasty- it would've been way too heavy of a meal for me, though. I probably won't be running back any time soon since it is so pricey but it's a good option to have for people on business or with families visiting.

My husband and I came here for happy hour after taking in a Falcons/Panthers game. They have food starting at $2.95 up to I think $6.95 during happy hour which is from 4-6/7? You have to sit at the bar, but luckily we were ahead of the crowd. You have to order a drink as well to get the happy hour specials, but it does not have to be alcoholic. Our waitress was slow, and I'm pretty sure she wrote us off after we didn't order drink after drink. Our food was also slow coming out, but once it did it was delicious. I think if the service would have been better this would be a 5 star review.

Came to Atlanta for a business meeting McCormick & Schmick"s was within walking distance from our hotel and a short drive for the locals attending the meetings so this seemed to be the best choice. Arrived 7 PM on Wednesday evening the place was packed tight, we made our way to the bar since a table for (8) was a thirty minute wait. The bar service was terrible half our wait was taken up waiting for our drinks the bartenders were unbelievable completely ignoring the clientele most of the drinks were incorrect and the bartender told us due to the amount of people and the noise level he really didn't hear our orders correctly and asked if the drinks he poured were okay he would make the next round correct as long as we waited for the first round we decided they were close enough. During our thirty minute wait we never could get the bartender's attention again to order the second round. We finally got seated at a dirty table by a server that made insults to us instead of taking care to wipe down the table so we just asked for damp cloths and wiped the table down ourselves. When he finally retuned to take out drink orders you just knew he wasn't bright enough to remember eight drink orders without writing them down. We insisted on ordering our food with our drink order because we figured it would take him 20 minutes to get our drinks so he took all the orders without writing them down. He return with half the drink order wrong and laughed it off and told us he could make them right but the bar was busy and it might take a long time we insisted he get it right I also asked if he needed us to go over our diner order again he cracked some smart ass remark about he was a college graduate and wasn't handicapped. This guy was a real piece of work. It just so happened that our food arrived before the drink corrections so we asked for a round of water, after trying to guess who ordered what while the food sat and was getting colder by the minute we finally realized some of the plates he was offering we didn't order. What a disaster this jerk actually laughed out loud and argued that either we did order these dishes or the kitchen completely blew it we told him it was either the kitchen or since he didn't write any thing downwind he got confused. Well we finally all got fed we didn't get our food all at the same time and a few got theirs after a few others had completely finished their meal. We all had steak I won't even go over the food issues it was ridiculous and nothing served here was remotely memorable anyway. This was a terrible choice I don't see myself ever visiting another one of these again. Buyer Beware!!

Beautiful restaurant located near all the fun tourist attractions in Downtown Atlanta - CNN, Aquarium, World of Coca Cola, etc. Stumbled upon this restaurant for dinner with my family, and it just so happened to be Restaurant Week. What a pleasant surprise! The waitresses here were incredibly friendly and everyone made you feel very welcome.

I have never been to this particular location. The food was amazing I had the coast to coast tuna. THAT WAS TO DIE FOR. The waitress was so sweet. She waited patiently as I decided which wine I wanted with my dinner. Not once did I feel pressured or feel like she was in a rush. I had the salmon ragotoni as my main course and it was alot of food. I could not even eat 1/2. Everything was yummy and the ambience was perfect. Unfortunately, this morning I am sick.... I have never felt this kinda of sharp stomach pains in a long time. Safe to say I will be calling them as soon as they open. I guess the food is to die for....

I was here a second time with coworkers recently and had better service this time. My previous comment about the menu options still stands. The atmosphere works fine for group meetings, though the music they were playing didn't seem to match the ambiance. Sounded more like dance music!

I'm giving just one star, based on what you get for what you pay. Edible is not good enough for a $20 lunch that leaves me hungry. Ordered the Coast to Coast Tuna for $14.99, which is "seared tuna paired with avocado tuna tartar." The seared tuna was decent, but was just four slivers of tuna. The avocado tuna tartar was completely tasteless. I have no idea how they managed to remove 100% of the flavor, but the only evidence I was eating was the consistency in my mouth (firm avocado and fish meat.) So disappointing!

I always worry about chain shops in the hotels. But this one did great. I stopped twice..once for a nightcap, scotch and dessert and once for dinner. First stop was just a relax before bed. The bartender was amazing. Ver knowledgeable and suggestions were spot on. He was at first a little out off by me walking in 7 minutes prior to closing. I asked if it was ok clearly explaining I could just go to bed rather than stay. He was inviting to stay and actually asked if I was ok that he was washing glasses as we talked. Impressed! I owned a bar recently and would have been very proud if he was working for me and treated a customer this great way. He suggested a fine dessert and I loved it. The macallan 18 was great as well. Nice! The second time was different as we sat in the booths for dinner with 5 adults and a baby. The privacy door served us well although the waiter never faultered and was very accommodating. He made the mother who questioned bringing a baby to a place like this feel very welcome and reassured her. The steak I had the filet, was cooked to order. The ala carte sides were ample for about 2-3 people. Service was great and waters were always filled. The restaurant was packed and food was delivered with about a 17-22 minute ticket time. Not bad at all! Very clean and we'll attended to. Staff was neatly dressed and always smiled.

Great food but our service was very slow. I think our server had too many guests all at once. Our appetizers were cold but still tasted amaIng. Everyone enjoyed their meals and all the portions were generous in size.

I always enjoy a trip to the city and if we are headed to a concert at Phillips I always get there early and start the evening at McCormicks and Schmicks. We stopped in before the Garth Brooks concert last weekend and were taken a little aback by the ladies in the front of the house. While loads of table were available everyone was greeted with a no reservations? No table and into the bar we went and overwhelmed the bar staff. The drinks were good and the bartenders pleasant but the drinks were too weak. The bar food was passable but it is hard to get over being met at the door with rudeness. After many years I think we will find a new tradition when we head to Phillips Arena

McCormick & Schmick's is a solid seafood restaurant in Atlanta. A little pricey, but the food is amazing. The Iceberg Wedge salad and the Shrimp Trilogy stick out in my mind as particularly good entrees. The decor is quite classy, so it's probably not as great for large groups that include kids, but otherwise, it should definitely make it on your list if you're looking for an upscale restaurant to add to your trip!

    (4)
  • Trina L.

Nice atmosphere & location. The food is average and overpriced. When I saw the prices, I expected a party in my mouth, creative flavoring, & dishes. It's just simple seafood that we can cook at home. The food wasn't bad, but it didn't match its price.

  • Stephen D.

Fried calamari was good. Clam chowder was good. Battered fish and chips was horrible. The batter was a nice golden brown on the outside but very soggy in the inside. I tried scraping the batter off and just eating the fish but even the fish had a mushy consistency. I expect much better good from this restaurant.

  • Kim N.

Service is quite slow here. It took awhile for us to get seated even with a reservation; it also took awhile for anything to come out of the kitchen. The food is decent but nothing spectacular; however, the creme brulee here is probably one of my favorites thus far. We came during Downtown Restaurant week but ended up just ordering from the regular menu because the dining week menu didn't look that great. - seared tuna & avocado tuna appetizer - alright -shrimp & scallop fettuccini - chef's selection, baby scallops and rock shrimp, sauce is pretty good - shrimp & lobster mac n cheese - decent as well You can park in the parking deck across the street from CNN and get a validated stamp from McCormick & Schmick's.

I went here for happy hour at the recommendation of the hotel staff at The Glenn Hotel. The greeting was warm and friendly at the bar. At that point I should have gotten up and walked out and because that's where the positive experience ended. I'm sure they forgot to put alcohol in my Agave Rita. I had to order a shot of tequila to put into it which cost more than the drink itself.....really? I then ordered a chicken quesadilla which barely had any chicken on it what so ever. I then proceeded to wait 10 minutes for a side of sour cream. The server obviously forgot and remembered when she seen me shooting her the her the "look". I know my sour creams not that important, but 10 minutes? At that point I asked for a manager and the chef came out to speak to me. Victor genuinely seemed concerned and waited to make things right, but where do you go when the service up to that point was absolutely horrid. I wouldn't come back even if the food was free and they paid me.

3.75 stars. Touristy, upscale chain restaurant, M&S, sits inside the CNN Center building, convenient to the Convention Center and Philips Arena area. Clubby and a little expensive, M&S is a sure bet for solid food and service, albeit formulaic. If you've liked your visit to M&S in another city, well, you won't be disapointed here. Lots of fish and some premium steaks adorn the menu. Drinks are decent and pricey.

Worst service EVER!. Lied to by hostess as to available seating. $270 dinner wasn't worth 270 pesos. 45 min to get drink order which was 2 glasses of water and a glass of wine. 1 of 4 appetizer came before we got drinks or flatware. Manager offered no help or compensation. Stay far,far away!.

I ate here one night after coming out of a trade show in the nearby World Congress Convention center. The restaurant was packed but seating in the lounge area was first come first serve so I didn't have to wait long. I tried the swordfish on special & it was fantastic. I was also surprised on how fast it came even though they were busy. A suggestion, since this restaurant is owned by the Landry's group, sign up for their frequent dining card. They can track it by your phone number. Ween I gave them mine they came back & told me I had 2 rewards (birthday was 1) so they knocked $50 off my bill! Ive eaten in other McCormick's & they have all been very good.

First time at this location with a group and all I can say is that I will not be going back. Main reason is because after you have eaten your meal it will take an act of Congress for your waiter to refill your drink. I mean is it to much to ask for my drink to be filled until I at least pay my bill? Last, I ordered the Red Snapper grilled for $25.99 or so that was over cooked! At the end I was still hungry and was not even offered desert!

  • Matthew P.

If I could give it ZERO stars I would. Lets start by saying they have "refurbed" the restaurant! Well they took the ambiance right out of it and now it looks like a cheap hotel lobby! Next when you have 6-7 tables in visual open in front of customers you don't tell them its going to be a 15-20 min wait! Then when asked why, the answer was "just incase we have a large group come in we have to keep it open for them not you" And when the bar and its table tops where 80% open we decided sure why not, we will eat in here instead! Took the same 15 mins before a waiter came up to us! Then the Host said we are ready for you now! Forget this lack of service! Don't waist your time! The previous time we went the food was sub par at best!!! There are better places in Atlanta for seafood! OCEAN PRIME AND OCEANAIRE

Stopped by for a drink before the Hawk's game. Had a couple glasses of wine and the calamari. My companion had wings and a cocktail. The calamari was okay. Nothing special, but good enough to eat with my wine. I tasted the buffalo wings. They were pretty good. Buttery, which was odd but you can't go wrong with butter. Service was great. The guys working the bar were friendly and attentive. I would stop in here again if I needed a pre-game spot.

The food was amazing! I had the Chilean Sea Bass and my husband ordered the Herb Crusted Wahoo. Our server MJ was great! He was well versed on the menu. The only reason we provided a four star rating was because of the cold bread. Wonderful night.

in town for work at GWCC. have enjoyed dinner/ drinks at various other M&S from Boston to NYC to NJ. Ordered a salad and a fish dish. Cobb salad was good but the fish (parm crusted flounder) -was "fishy" and very salty. The fish came with orzo but switched out for the mashed potatoes because they were suggested by server. Lumpy taters, fish not fresh. not the standard for this brand that i am accustomed to, and was disappointed that the server, who noted that i hardly touched my dish, didn't ask if there was a problem or if everything was ok. So service, while cheery and southern twanged was nice - was not attentive to what counts. Food - not the typical M&S fare. For all the other options in the area - try something else.

I came here with my date and we questioned the chain at first however, we were pleasantly surprised by the food quality, drink quality and service quality because of the restaurant's (hotel) location and the price. If you're staying downtown, try it out.

My wife and I ate here tonight as our "splurge meal" for our trip and this was a wonderful restaurant experience. The food was amazing and the service was top notch. We each had some great shrimp meals and we finished with very rich and wonderful dessert. The atmosphere is very upscale, however all types of people dressed in everything from shorts (as I was) to suits were all in the room. We will be back someday!

I came to have Christmas dinner here and was very disappointed. I have dined here many times before and have had great experiences but this was the worst by far. The server did the best she could to distract us by talking to us about downtown Atlanta but after about40 mins she apologized about our food taking so long and went to get a manager. The manager came to the table and said the building had a gas leak. This was alarming because the restaurant was still operating. I left hungry and never wanting to return. Do not dine here if you actually want to receive your food

Possibly the worse service ever... Had to find a hostess to be seated... When commented that it was warm in the restaurant & if the a/c was operating- our server said he didn't know because he just works here...? Pretty sure the server wasn't happy with us because we ordered drinks & appetizers... Sorry no entree.

1pm lunch, not very busy, but we were seated next to a large party. Our lunch did not arrive until 2:15 and was lukewarm. I asked the waitress if the kitchen had closed and she said they were changing shifts. I didn't find that to be a very good excuse, nor did I care what the problem was. It was inexcusable to have to wait that long. The clam chowder had to be sent back as it had an odd taste and the clams were overcooked and rubbery/tough. The Calamari was greasy. I have eaten at other McCormick & Schmick's in other towns which have been stellar. This one was awful and we were embarrased for our guests (who sent back the chowder). Our waitress was kind when she decided to grace us with her presence, although not observant as our glasses sat empty several times with us having to wave her down for refills. I won't be going back to this location. Very disappointed.

This place was spectacular. Our server Joshua was very helpful and kind. He went above and beyond to make sure we were enjoying our meal and taken care of. This was first class service. Now as far as the food goes it too was spectacular. I tried the calamari appetizer and the coconut shrimp. Both were fried items but neither were greasy. It was perfectly crispy and flavored to perfection. I had a cup of the clam chowder and I could tell it was made with fresh clams. The bacon in the soup added a nice salty counterbalance to the soup which I really enjoyed. For the meals, my husband had the blackened grouper with the lobster mashed potatoes. He said it was the best mashed potatoes he'd ever had. I had the swordfish with the lump of crab and spinach and mushroom side. The fish was great. The spinach was a little salty for my taste but I don't put salt in many things so maybe I am biased. I think the meal was perfectly balanced and executed accurately. This place is a must if you are ever in Atlanta or if you want to impress someone with a nice dinner.

This location has a upgraded interior and seems to be a little nicer than the one located at perimeter. Although perimeter has a excellent patio! We sat in the bar area at a booth for almost 8 minutes and was never greeted so we decided to just move to the bar. Both bartenders were very professional and attentive. The happy hour on food and drinks are from 4 to 7 and well worth it.

Great food. I had the seared ahi and it was fantastic. If you can, try the crab and corn chowder from the "fall" menu! The service was also on point and attentive. I'd say this is consistent with what I have come to expect from M&S.

My girlfriend and I went to dinner three weeks ago here and would say that the expierence was horrible. We both got very sick after eating their oysters and mixed grill meals. I contacted the resturant three days after eating their food and notified them of the food poisoning. I spoke with their assistant manager Elvis on Thursday March 12 and was assured that he would talk to the GM and I would recieve a call back within 24 hrs. No call was returned. I called again on Sunday March 15 and spoke to Elvis again. He again said I would receive a call within 24 hrs which did not happen again. I called back Monday March 16 to speak to the GM however Elvis again said he would call back. I called my bank and disputed the charge. My bank called and the GM magically was available to talk with my bank and instructed my bank to tell me to call corporate since he could not handle the situation himself. I called corporate and talked to Rachael on several different occasions before I had a phone called returned a week later by their regional manager. He said he could do nothing. McCormick's dropped the ball multiple times and are very unprofessional. I will never go back and I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.

Came for a vendor presentation in their private dining room which included a 2-course lunch with choices. Space was large, had U-shaped seating, video presentation set-up w/ screen, and somewhat quiet (you could hear the noise in the main restaurant but it was bearable). Decided on our server recommendations which was the "Mixed Green Salad w/ Balsamic Vinaigrette" (yum), and the "Parmesan Crusted Tilapia" (pretty good) for my entree. The tilapia was deep-fried, and came w/ mashed potatoes, green beans, and carrots. Servers were very nice. If you're about great deals like me - go during happy hour, Mon-Fri 3-6:30pm. They have great happy hour specials like a 1/2 lb. cheeseburger for $2.95. Other menu items are $1.95-4.95. Sweet! :) Overall 3 stars for food, 4 stars for meeting space. FYI - park in the CNN garage next door. Parking says $10 but it's free w/ validation.

We stopped in there before doing the CNN tour, and we should have probably just stayed and skipped the tour. We sat at the bar originally going to have a small appetizer and some beers, and we ended up eating there because they menu was great. Our bartender/server was very friendly and we enjoyed talking to him. My boyfriend got fried shrimp with french fries and he LOVED it. I got a wedge salad and a side of sauteed spinach and I was very pleased as well. The only negative thing I will say is the fried green tomatoes we got were way too fried. I know some people like that, and this is probably how the restaurant prepares them. But for my taste, it was too fried. But other than that it was a nice place to relax.

My waitress was really good and any time a Sade mix is played in a cool room at a restaurant with a reputation and memories that they HAD, well I expect much more. When I pay $90.00 for lunch for 2 "I expect MORE!" I went on Friday of memorial-day weekend. I expected a lot of people but there was only about 12 people and 6 of those were in a business meeting. I called about parking earlier and was told the wrong place to park. As for the food I started with a bowl of Clam Chowder and a lump crab cake. The clam chowder was old and salty so I had to send it back, but the chef was nice enough to let me know that they were cooking a fresh batch although it was not ready he would be happy to send me another bowl of the same old salty crap! The LUMP crab cake was not really filled with lump "more so crab mush." 2 lemon-aids and the ENTRÉES Buttermilk shrimp w/ fry's and Dry Rubbed Black Angus Ribeye Steak* - center cut (13oz) 34.99. Okay you can't really mess up fried shrimp short of over cooking so they were good, now as for my $35.00,,,, not a $35.00 steak! The game at the table was "cut the steak" this thing had 2 rubber bands running through it that took real effort to cut "I found that if you pulled the knife in and upward motion while chanting I want to go home and clicking your ruby red slippers you could make it through the cables!" The dry rub was burned into the steak and bitter nor did the steak seemed aged. Not happy at all but I never send a steak back "too afraid of the GET-BACK!" I finished with the apple pie the apples and walnuts were good but the crust was a hot burned mess. I did noticed the table of business guys all eating burgers. I asked my waitress what was up and she said that they all had the Kobe burgers. I said real Kobe and she said yes and that it was one of the best things going. The lesson is skip the $90.00 lunch and grab 2 Kobe burgers ($15.00 each) and a couple of beers

Visited for a weekday lunch and had exactly the wonderful experience I've come to expect from this chain. Prompt, attentive service, fabulous food, beautiful setting. I ordered the blackened salmon salad. It was delicious and the fish was cooked perfectly.

I wish I had looked at the reviews before going here. Where to start. Saturday night, downtown Atlanta, and an mostly empty restaurant should have been the first clue. Service was terrible. It started with me getting a lunch menu instead of a dinner one then proceeded to a 40-45 minute wait for our entrees. Finally our entrees come and my salmon is dry and has a consistency of chicken. I sent it back with hopes of enjoying it with the rest of my dinner. So I ate slowly. I mean how long does it take to cook salmon. 20 minutes later I got my salmon...completely raw on the inside. With mu son beginning to lose it, i didn't want to wait for another bad piece of fish and said i would take the check. The waitress took the food back and said she would have her manager take care of it. Another 15 min goes by...by now we are packed up and standing over our table with no check. Finally I walk to the hostess stand get the check pay and walk out. The manager couldn't really help with the check so with my son really losing it I paid and left. Awful service, food a,d leadership. After speaking with the hostess I found out that this is owned by Landry's (sp) seafood and ever since they took over there have been a lot of cutbacks. I wouldn't be surprised if the seafood was all frozen. DON'T GO HERE. Go inside the CNN center to the food court over this place.

My husband and I came here for a special date night the night before our son was born. We made a reservation and paid $6 for 2 hours of parking across the street. When we walked in I told the host my name and that we had a reservation. He looked confused and acted as if he didn't even have us down on the list. After he seated us we sat at our table for TEN minutes without a single person acknowledging us or even pouring us water. Finally my husband went to the front where two managers were standing and chatting to ask where our waiter was. They sent a girl over a couple minutes later who did not apologize or say anything about us waiting for so long. In fact she had a MAJOR attitude and acted pissed at us. She was absolutely horrible the entire time. The managers never came over to apologize again or check on us. The food was expensive and frankly just ok. It was very disappointing and the down right lack of customer service was enough that we will never ever return!

Based only on a visit to the bar here...the bar itself is very much a lively "pub" atmosphere. The happy hour food prices are unbelievable. When I went I got an 8-ounce hamburger and fries for $2. Virtually everything is under $5. Not sure if the drinks are discounted, but with pub grub at these prices, you still have an evening that's friendly on your wallet.

Went here recently for a retirement party and I wasn't too impressed with the amount of food that I received versus the price paid. Like a lot of things located in the heart of the city, you rarely get what you pay for, things tend to be really overpriced.

If I was rating my meal alone, I'd probably give McCormick & Schmick's two stars. But Nova and her mom both seemed pretty pleased with what they ordered. I just felt like I could've made a better meal at home. Why? Because my petite filet was cooked past how I ordered it and my mac and cheese side was not much more than rigatoni floating in heavy cream. Ah, how Kevin Rathbun Steak has spoiled me. On the plus side, Nova really liked her fish and chips. She said everything on the plate--including the coleslaw--was tasty. And judging from her empty plate, my mother-in-law certainly liked her filet medallions with sautéed mushrooms. She even had a better-tasting side than I did--the sweet potato casserole. We probably wouldn't have come here though if we didn't have plans to see the Hawks play at Philips, which is right next door. The game was my X-mas gift to my mother-in-law--a NBA fanatic--and I wanted to take her someplace nicer than the CNN Center's food court. Anyway, like I said, the ladies left happy and that's all that really matters. But we probably could've had a better meal at Houston's or some similar place for the $90 it cost me. Oh, one final note on the service: while our waiter was totally on top of drinks and whatnot, why do places like this always have a sales pitch at the beginning on the meal? Instead of being told "the specials" I felt like I was being talked into a used car.

I recently visited this location while I was in Atlanta for work. The food was decent....nothing to write home about. The prices were reasonable. The service was EXCELLENT. I had a lovely waitress that was an exceptional server. Not in the best area for a single girl to walk to/from at night, luckily there was still some light outside.

This place should be avoided. Although I've had great seafood at a McCormick & Schmicks before, none of our food at this location was good. They claimed the swordfish was their specialty, but it was below average and the price was ridiculous. My friend had the tuna sashimi and it wasn't good either. The only thing that was good was the local beer (Sweetwater) and the fried green tomato appetizer.

After a late check in I used Yelp to locate somewhere to eat that was near my hotel. After a moments review we decided to give this place a try. Upon entry I was immediately pleased by the decor. It was classy, but, without pretension; comfortable. Casual, yet, upscale seemed to be about half the dress with the other half done up & ready for a night on the town. The meals were top notch. I tried a plate of Halibut, Salmon & Mussels dressed in a truffle oil sauce. Plated with roasted red potatoes & assorted veggies. I am not often a seafood fan. With that in mind, I must admit that this was one of the best meals I've had in quite a while. My wife enjoyed her plate too. She had halibut prepared in a flakey encasement that reminded me of a croissant calzone paired with a port wine reduction & asparagus. Our meal ended with adult 'smores that were out of this world. The service was just what you would want from a place of this caliber. Our waitress was very friendly & helpful. She didn't miss a beat the entire evening. I was impressed that when things got busy, our server had a demanding table next to ours, the manager hoped in to help with our desert selection. All done with such smoothness we didn't once find ourselves wanting for service as it was always there & timed well to fit our wants. My only regret is that we didn't eat here again before leaving Atlanta.

Though I've passed by this restaurant time and time again, nothing has ever pushed me to enter the doors. Maybe it was a sixth sense! I decided to take my honey here as he said seafood was his cuisine of choice for Daddy's day. Wow! What a disappointment. The decor was decent and somewhat comfy and romantic. Would have been nicer minus the 2 screaming babies that Mom's couldn't control. The service was slow which was odd because it seemed our server only had about 3 tables. The menu was average and I think tried to hard to be a little more fancy that it was or needed to be for the price point. Appetizer = calamari which was somewhat soft, bland and can't touch Ray's calamari. I went simple with a steamed seafood dish and requested no mussels/clams just extra shrimp or something...I rec'd a whole 2 extra shrimp in exchange...wow! So I mentioned that and was brought a small plate of 4 tasteless, unseasoned, sauceless, boiled shrimp. My honey ordered the sirloin and stuffed shrimp..steak was good, stuffing in shrimp was super soft not with the normal breading base but like a mayo base...gross. The mac n chees was average. Decor - ok. Service - less than great. Meal - not the worse. Would I go back or recommend - NOT. Too many other great ATL restaurants in the same price range for such sub-par food and service.

I had a very nice meal here on a Monday evening. It's right across from Centennial Olympic Park, which I thought was cool, and apparently in the CNN Building. Our table wasn't memorable, but I saw some pretty cool booths/rooms that would have been fun to occupy. This was my first visit to M&S's. Though I wouldn't quite call it outstanding, I was pleasantly impressed. The prices weren't outrageous, but the food was quite good and the service was decent. Overall, I was pleased with the experience and would recommend this McCormick & Schmick's to others looking to dine in downtown Atlanta.

Stopped here after leaving the aquarium with my daughter. was going to dantannas but it was packed and had a wait. so we went to mccormick and schmicks. i ordered the salmon and she ordered a parm crusted flounder with lemon caper butter (my 6 year old will be an expensive date one day). both of our foods were bland. for the first time in ages, we used the salt shaker on our food. my salmon was just blah as were the five mini squash slices served on the plate. the reduction was too sweet and my daughter asked me why they put jam on my plate because it tasted like jam. the flounder crust was soggy and flavorless. the lemon caper butter was bland also. the capers had no flavor and were dried out from being put under a broiler maybe. i will not be returning or recommending to anyone.

DISCLAIMER: Though I have eaten at other M&S locations - this was my first visit to this location. The score is only for this one meal. I am not able to judge the restaurants ability to do this on a consistent basis based on this one meal. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Yesterday, I lunched with my father at McCormick & Schmick's inside the CNN Center. I find this a much better alternative to Legalls just up the street. While Legals may offer a more diverse selection of seafood, I find the dishes to be a bit more creative and fresher at M&S. Though there are a number of fixtures on the menu, a large portion of it changes daily depending on what has been brought in fresh. We walked in at 12:03 and were seated promptly. The restaurant was empty upon arrival but filled up very quickly after 12:10. The décor is a bit more old guard than say Legal Seafoods up the street. Our server, who was excellent sans one faux pas, was quick to suggest either fresh lemonade or an Arnold Palmer (my drink of choice) right off the bat. It was a very good move considering this was lunch time and it was a nice day out. I must say kudos to him on that. I also felt he was attentive without being overbearing. However, we were never offered bread - something my father pointed out. That's not a major detractor in my view, but it is something to take note of. In other words: minor deduction for that one. In addition to not wanting bread, I feel it's one of those things that can be asked for. While we contemplated our order, my father and I elected to start off with an order of the steamed littleneck clams and the crab tots. The little neck clams were a bit on the small side (even for littlenecks) but they were fresh and tasty. They came in a typical broth - butter, onion, garlic, a touch of white wine, and some pepper. They were very tasty, but the amount of garlic and onions may turn someone off. I'm a garlic lover - so I'm as happy as a clam (okay - that was a lame attempt at humor). We also had the crab tots. I was so perplexed and intrigued when I saw them on the menu that I had to order them. Seriously, how often do you see crab tots? Cool! Overall, they were pretty tasty. They reminded me of Cuban croquettas in taste, texture, and size. In fact, I really wouldn't call them tots at all - but the idea was not lost on me. The meat was fresh and well seasoned. I detected a hint of tarragon, though I may be mistaken. There was a horseradish dip on the side that I found very tasty. The other dipping sauce was a chipotle ranch. I'm not a fan of chipotle ranch so don't ask me how it was. I probably would not have enjoyed the tots as much as I did if not for the fact that they were called TOTS! Tots rule by the way. For his entrée, DG ordered the pan fried oysters but substituted whipped taters instead of fried. The whipped potatoes were a nice selection on his part. The oysters were phenomenal. I had several of them and found each one to be plump and juicy - cooked just right. So many times fried oysters come out dry, especially here in the south, these were anything but. There was a tartar sauce of sorts on the side - I was not impressed with it. Unfortunately, my father stole my order so I caved under the pressure and shouted the first thing that came to mind - the crab cakes. Since I ordered the tots, I would have liked to have mixed it up a bit. Nonetheless - plump and well prepared. They were served with a side of wild rice and some cooked vegetables. Neither of the sides was particularly impressive, but they were good enough not to pull down the overall quality of the meal. Overall, this was a very pleasurable experience and a reasonable price. The price tag was much more reasonable than a similar meal at Legals. It is clear that M&S uses high quality product. The pan fried oysters were the star, while my sides were the class dunces. I'll give them a mulligan on that.

Sadly not worth it to me. Considering all the great places close by, I can't imagine I'll ever chose to go back here. Service was very friendly, yet ssssssssslow. It wasn't busy and it took way too long to get drinks and appetizers. My bloody mary was good I guess, but nothing more special than mix you buy at Kroger:( Needs something extra I think. Beet salad is good...maybe too much goat cheese on mine though. Just sayin. I think I'd give a more generous rating if the prices were a lower to match the experience, but either way, not one of my favs. Sorry. It is fun to say though ssssssssssschmicks!

I work downtown, and on most occasions that my parents or sister come to dine with me during my lunch break, or if a favorite coworker wants to chow and catch up, I'll suggest McCormick & Schmick's. I have eaten there on several occasions and never have had to wait for a table and always have been greeted and served cordially. At my most recent visit, the waitress, Salihah, knew the menu extremely well, detailing the specials with accuracy and enthusiasm. The menu changes daily, but luckily, my favorite lunch dish always is available: the blackened fish tacos, served with cilantro and jalapeño sour cream. A white, lightly breaded fish is stuffed into the tortilla, lined with melted cheese, topped with to-die-for sour creamy slaw. What really distinguishes these tacos are the browned tortillas, creating lightly crunchy, moan-worthy bites. I always am stuffed after attacking the two tacos but still find room to pick at the rice pilaf and salsa that form a pathway in the middle of the plate. On one occasion, when my coworker and I turned down the dessert menu, the waitress brought us a sample of the tangerine sorbet--and the tangy, chilling spoonful soothed my taste buds, satisfying my sweet tooth. The restaurant's ocean-themed decor reminds me a little of Red Lobster, although McCormick & Schmick's has much fresher seafood--echoed by the daily-changing menu--and, overall, a cooler, friendlier waitstaff. I appreciate McCormick & Schmick's consistently high-quality service, and the reliable deliciousness of the fish tacos.

My experience here was a little bit different from most of the reviewers. I did not go here for a special night or as a regular, but as one of the dreaded conference-goers that attended a huge conference at the Georgia Dome and Georgia World Congress Center. My group of noisy, socializing women lingered for quite some time, were indecisive about ordering, and generally acted like a bit of a pain in the ass (changing tables three times to join other conference-goers). If this is part of the normal clientele for this establishment, I can understand a bit of attitude emanating from the servers. Our server, however, was extremely friendly and accommodating, even if the bartender acted like he had a pole shoved somewhere inconvenient. I went here knowing that the place was quite pricey (I hail from Baltimore), and I was a bit nervous about managing to eat on my very limited budget. I made out quite well, however, off of the very generous portions on the happy hour menu. No one noticed that I just had a cup of soup for dinner after all of the appetizers, and I ate a filling and delicious meal for just $12 (counting 20% tip). Not too shabby, if you ask me. Because it was my birthday, my compatriots also asked for a slice of b-day cake, which was the most obscenely large piece of German chocolate cake with toffee icing that i have ever come across in my life. Two bites, and I was done. Luckily the swarm of chocolate-loving ladies in my group took care of the rest for me.

Made a reservation for Veteran's Day because I was informed of a special for military service members. I made the reservations almost 2 weeks out. We live nearly 4 hours away, so we rented a hotel room for the night on that Friday (Veteran's Day). We had recieved a phone call that Wednesday saying that the special wasn't for that day, but for Sunday - two days after the actual holiday - and that there were no tables available to be reserved. They should have at least specified somewhere when their special offers were so we wouldn't have to search for another place to eat!

We took my mom here for dinner on Mother's Day after seeing a great play at Theatrical Outfit just up the street. The restaurant was definitely not busy and that may be because the outside is still very uninviting due to the damage from the tornado. But, mom had been wanting to go back to M&S since a trip to Boston a couple of years ago... We actually had amazing service from our server, Robert. He was friendly, funny and new the menu really well. Each of us enjoyed our meals--asparagus & roasted potatoes were really good and the mashed potatoes were as well. Two of us had filets and they were cooked to perfection. Very flavorful and extremely tender. Mom had coconut shrimp, which she loved. Best of all, they brought her a rose for Mother's day and a complimentary dessert, that we all shared. I doubt that I will make my way to M&S for a regular meal, but would definitely consider it again for something with the parents.

It's a shame that more and more these days whenever you hear "seafood restaurant", it immediately means "pricey and bad service". McCormick's seemed like such a good idea for adding to a crowded CNN Center. Boy, we needed something other than fast food there! But, as a frequenter of this place at lunch time (I worked at CNNC for 6 years, so imagine the number of happy hours we spent there), I can tell you, the service is bad. Bad service can kill all the fun, and even super good food doesn't make up for this. And McCormick's doesn't make "super good food" by any stretch of imagination. Service is very slow, it's always crowded (expected from a busy conference center), and hostesses are suffering a bad case of "attitude". Food is okay. Some days are better than others, and we are joking that they serve whatever comes from the Georgia Aquarium across the street. But, their yellow tail is good, and I like the flounder. Not my favorite, but between Chequers and this one, it's probably a better option.

The restaurant wasn't even busy and It took 30 mins to get soup, and they didn't even have clam chowder. What kind of seafood restaurant doesn't have clam chowder? My friend ordered shrimp in red sauce and the shrimp still had tails. Very messy trying to fish out the tail in marinara. I have had great experiences at the Seattle location, but it was terrible at the CNN Center location.

Took the boyfriend here for his birthday dinner on a Thursday night. We arrived an hour before closing and I went to the Perimeter Center location, so not many people were in the restaurant. The service was great, the house salad was not so great (can't stand crumbled blue cheese). They have fried green tomatoes which are very delicious. I ordered the surf and turf (crab cake with filet mignon and mashed potatoes) and fresh lemonade. My boyfriend ordered the seafood pasta and everything was delicious and cooked just right!! I am not a big wine drinker, but they have a pretty long list of wine to compliment your dinner. To top off our dinner experience, we were served a complimentary piece of chocolate cake with two forks. Yum!

You can find price bargains at happy hour... but if you are going to dine here at dinner, well you will pay for the location, service and good food... The service was attentive and the location cannot be beat.... hands down a great eatery for those at the GWCC or those going to a game ... I ordered the Stuffed Shrimp with the 6 oz Filet $29.95... What I got left me hungry ... for the price, well, I wanted more than McCormick's serves. The steak was good (though nothing to commend. They don't compare with Ruth's Chris's filets (much better). The three shimp were very good. If I could rate with a half a star I would give McCormick 3.5 ... better than OK. Overall, if you are downtown at a game or convention... this is a good place to dine.

I'm so happy this place is connected to the Omni Hotel. We arrived this morning and check into the hotel and shortly afterward take the tour of the CNN news building. Very cool place. We tied up some biz things and started to get hungry. We originally went to Taco Mac a Beer and Wings joint downnear the CNN courtyard, but decided to just have a beer and bail. I'm glad we did. McCormick & Schmick's has a killer happy hour menu, and we decided to just eat there. I had Seared Peppered Ahi off the happy hour menu... $4.50 !!!! Toto were not in LA anymore. It was INSANE, so good I ordered another. I also had off the regular menu a Spicy Tuna roll and a Blue Cheese Wedge. The Wedge may have been one of the best I ever had. They actually bring over a valet with chopped cucumber, big chunks of blue cheese, shredded monterey jack, and crispy chopped bacon all of which you can customize your wedge with. I may eat here again today!

So, I decided to post a review for this place simply because I can't stop thinking about going back. My first trip was with my best friend and her dad who regularly takes his business clients there. I had the BBQ shrimp and grits, which apparently is only on the menu occasionally. It was the best dish ever - just the right blend of spicy and sweet. Plus, it was served in a huge bowl so you will feel like a fatty once you devour it, but it's totally worth it. The location is not great for parking since it's right in the middle of downtown, but at least the inside of the restaurant is nice and cozy. Service was good and I just wish I could afford this place more often! I'm definitely going back, just a matter of when! And if you're lucky enough to see the BBQ shrimp and grits on the menu, don't think just order it. You will not regret it.

Only in downtown Atlanta could this be considered one of the better seafood restaurants. I used to work around the corner and would visit occassionally for lunch. The seafood is fresh, but often overcooked and the service is inconsistent at best. Based on the other reviews -- it may have improved in the last 6-12 months, but having eaten at other locations I tend to doubt it. My guess is that if you enter with low expectations you won't be disappointed and may even be pleasently suprised.

Atlanta's lack of a waterfront sort of makes it, challenging in my opinion, to have "great seafood restaurants." Hailing from the Hampton/Virginia Beach area I have a very discriminating tongue when it comes to crab cakes and fresh fish. McCormick and Schmick's makes my list of great local seafood restaurants. My parents, also life long fish connoisseurs, gave it the rubber stamp of approval when we went there to celebrate their wedding anniversary a couple of years ago. One of the interesting perks they had at that time was a group of tables each with an individual curtain that you could close to have a truly "private" dining experience. They times I've been the food has been memorable and enough to get me to go back despite the location in an area where parking can be sparse. There is a nearby parking deck that will accommodate McCormick diners and you can get the host or hostess to validate the ticket.

Nothing makes a trip to the Aquarium complete like eating great seafood when you're done. Yes, I know it's a little perverse, but I love to go out for either sushi or seafood after hitting the Aquarium. Something about all those interesting fish makes me hungry. McCormick and Schmick's is my normal post-Aquarium stop, usually for some oysters and grouper. The daily specials are where it's at, flown in from all over the western hemisphere and well cooked. Except for the oysters, which I prefer uncooked. But that might not be your thing. The happy hour prices for McCormick and Schmick's are also nice. You can get a lot of food and drinks for a reasonable price. It gets crowded due to the CNN Center location...lots of conventioneers and people working nearby wanting to unwind.

Met a friend whom I haven't seen in years for dinner. Although we enjoyed sitting there and talking, it didn't expect to stay over 2.5 hours!! This wasn't due to us losing track of time. We sat down and ordered a bottle of wine. It took over 30 minutes to get it. The waiter just kept walking by and said it was coming! Finally, the wine came. The food was ok. I had ordered plain mash potatoes with my meal. When I got my meal, there was 'peppered' mash potatoes, which I had told the waiter I did not want. He then said he would check to see what else I can get, he never came back!! Then he said he would compensate by giving a dessert. So I ended up with a side dish i didn't want. I didn't get dessert and then it took another 30 minutes to get the bill taken care of. We probably could have walked out and he wouldn't have even noticed. I really did expect more from a restaurant like this. The only reason we went there is because it was attached to the hotel and didn't know anywhere else close by to eat that was decent. Would definitely not recommend this particular restaurant

Can only comment on the bar but I'm sure the food is fine. Everyone seemed to be enjoying it. Great place to have dinner and/or grab some drinks before a game at the Georgia Dome. Fairly efficient bartenders, very friendly wait staff. Although I'm beginning to think that southerners are just nicer than us west coast folks. They charge way too much for their imported draft beers though. $6.25 for a blue moon? Seriously? $17.95 for an 8 ounce glass of Sonoma Cutrer? Well...that one I'll let slide. Everything from California is way too expensive out of state. Friendly patrons, great atmosphere. Totally worth going.

Hubby and I walked in on a Saturday night at 7pm and only had to wait for about 30min without reservations. The restaurant was very dim and relaxing which I liked. I can't stand going into a bright restaurant trying to squint because your blinded. We had a great waiter that knew most everything about the menu and was very attentive to our table. We both got some wine to start with which was great. We also ordered the fried calamari as an appetizer, I don't care for it but hubby said it was the best he had ever had. I had the 12oz rib-eye that came topped with crunchy onion rings on top and also with sauteed green beans and carrots. It was great! Steak was a very nice cut and hardly any fat, veggies were great as well. Hubby got the BBQ shrimp and grits and loved it. It was a huge bowl of poblano cheese grits with huge shrimp and sausage and caramelized onions. We also had dessert which was scrumptious! We ordered the pear cobbler and ate every bite! Everything about this restaurant was yummy!

Delicious! McCormick &Schmick's was awesome. we were staying in the Omni in the CNN Center and were coming back from a movie in Buckhead, and it was like 10:30pm and they closed at 11pm, but they still sat us and served us and were very nice. The service was great and the food was incredible. We got the mussels as an appetizer, ummmm, cooked and served in wine sauce, they were delicious, especially since they gave us extra bread to dip in the wine sauce. ooh it was good, and they didn't even make us feel like we were keeping them late, in fact we forgot how late it was ourselves. And the Seafood fettuccine was crazy delicious. usually I am not the biggest fan of scallops, and even before we were served my girlfriend was complaining about how she doesn't like scallops, and hen they served us, and ooh was it good, perfecto. The scallops were fresh and small and delicious and the shrimp were fresh and plump and tasty and the sauce was deliciously creamy....and perfect for dipping the bread as well. McCormick&Schmick's oh yeah baby delicious in the CNN Center, so if you are staying in the CNN Center and feel like Sea Food, Look No Further than McCormick&Schmick's...so good, exactly what I was looking for, plus extra fresh scallops and excellent service.

What an excellent night out here for Valentines day. As soon as we got in to the restaurant our table was waiting for us(we did make reservations a month before). Instantly out waiter, Bernard, came out with some waters and an extraordinarily amount of knowledge about the wines that we wanted to pair well with what we would be eating that night(lots of seafood!). Our food was outstanding, blue crab dip that was extremely creamy that it made your mouth water just smelling it right in front of you! I had ordered the shrimp and andouille mac and cheese, while my girlfriend had ordered the stuffed salmon. Needless to say, we were nothing but impressed. Honestly, one of the best meals I have ever had. Great date spot, enjoyable atmosphere, and above all great food. 11/10 would eat again.

Dined here for dinner with a very large group. The wait staff handled it quite well. The food was delicious. I had the New York strip, which was cooked perfectly, although it was a bit salty was very tasty. Next time I will ask them to ease up on the salt. The faltbread pizza was very nice and the creamed spinach was very tasty. Very cheesy. My daughter had the parm encrusted chicken which she enjoyed. Very filling meal (big portions) and very expensive. All in all a very nice experience.

Boring, very boring and over-priced blah food. If it's priced that high make it exceptional. But still very boring. Excellent location but just too doggone boring. I just sat at the bar watching a TV with no sound (or subtitles) and that's it. Never again.

I can't even express to you how disappointed I was the last time I visited here. I had been here in the past, and the food was hot and tasty, the seafood was fresh and the portions were pretty good. I went here and it was a mess. Our server was terrible and got two out of three of our dishes incorrect, which had to be sent back. The sauce on my salmon tasted like it had come directly out of a can and was cold. All in all, I have to say I won't be returning just from my bad experience.

Love the candle-lit dinner atmosphere, attentive waiters and varied wine selection. We had the macademia crusted trout--light and well seasoned with mango relish---and a perfect medium rare beef filet. The creme brûlée was creamy and lightly crusted with caramelized sugar. Our wine selection a was a Stag's Leap "Artemis" Napa Cabernet-- dry and not too heavy. We loved it.

I work downtown so have been here numerous times over the past 9 years ... each time I go I leave with a mental "note to self: never come back here again," but alas after a few months my memory fades and I decide to give them another whirl only to be wholly disappointed all over again. Where to begin? SERVICE: Consistently terrible service - the waitstaff (bless their hearts) make me wince with empathy embarrassment by their inability to understand the menu and adequately describe the dishes. Obviously, this leads to orders being entirely wrong. Then there is the WAIT: it apparently takes a really long time to submit a messed-up order and have that turned around in the kitchen. The ultimate long wait? My friend went one day for lunch and they never served her in over an hour!! Whoever said "snobby" service must have picked an oddly random day to go ... the waitstaff at this location doesn't have the slightest bit of culture nor a basic idea of dining somewhere other than a drivethru so, no, in my numerous times at this restaurant I've never encountered a snob. MENU: This is the only restaurant I can think of where each menu rendition gets worse than the last! The menu is far too complex for the kitchen staff to pull off. Having said that, who these days really wants the majority of the menu items to be all sauced, creamed, crusted, stuffed, etc? A restaurant simply can't have items on the menu their own kitchen doesn't have the skill to properly execute! PRICES: Ridiculously overpriced for what is a poorly run chain restaurant. IN SUMMARY: I believe this place only survives due to the abundant hotel & convention traffic in the downtown area. One can only hope those poor, unsuspecting souls who assume they're about to get something special are on expense account.

This is one of my favorite spots to dine in Atlanta. The the staff's professionalism, quality of the food, and location adds to it's southern hospitality. I will continue to visit this fine eating establishment. Honorable mention goes out to the 25 year retired US Marine Gunnery SGT who mans the bar. Put it this way, he knows how to make a great long island.

This is the worst McCormick & Schmick's I have ever been to. I will not go back, and maybe never return to the chain again. I had salmon. It was bland, the potatoes were extra bland, and the cooked spinach was watery and again bland. And this is coming from someone who rarely uses salt or any sauces, so I can only imagine what someone who likes a lot of flavor would have to say. Our server, Joshua, was terrible. It took forever for him to greet us to begin with for which he explained there was confusion over who was to serve us. He apologized and promised we wouldn't be waiting that long again. He was right... we waited longer each and every time. He placed an incorrect order which caused us to eat our meals separately. When he asked how my salmon was and I replied "meh", he just kept moving. I dine out very frequently. Normally, this response would have been met with follow up questions on how the server can make up for it. Not here. Again, I cannot stress how terrible an experience this was. I felt bad suggesting it to my friend, and will never return!

Disappointed. Food was alright, cooked in way too much butter, half way in I already felt very oily especially my plate was starting to get cold. However those broccolini tasted excellent in the buttery sauce. Calamari was nothing special; Dessert was great, had a brownie with vanilla ice cream on top and caramal sauce. Bad: Looong line up. We didn't reserve a table but never thought the line up would be this long! We waited at the bar and it took them almost half an hr to bring us our drink. Very loud inside. Not so much the restaurant itself, but sounded like there was a club downstairs and we could hear the clubbing music from the floor and I could feel the beat from my feet. Too expensive for what we got from this restaurant.

I'm aware that this is a chain and a lot of people ask, How can it be a chain with 5 stars? I don't know how they do it, but the food is amazing here. I visited this location to celebrate the birthday of my young cousin. I ordered the Connecticut Blue Point Oysters which were very fresh and as delicious as any oyster I have ever had! They were plump, and delicious! I also ordered a seafood trio which included scampi shrimp, grilled salmon, and crab stuffed shrimp. The sides were fresh green bean and carrot mixture and a very nice, roasted red pepper mashed potato! Each and every morsel of food was fantastic! I finished my meal which was a large enough portion to get you right where you need to be in terms of satisfaction. The waitress was a sweet, charming young woman who knew the menu very well. Nothing worse than going to a restaurant and being waited on by someone who has rarely dined in the establishment they are employed by and has no idea what to suggest to you. I am a huge fan of McCormick & Schmicks and will definitely return!

We gave them another try after the last fiasco. Funny thing was we got the same waiter. He remembered our trying time and vowed to make it better -- and he gave it his all. This time we felt well cared for except strangely we were given a "view of downtown Atlanta" as if that was a good thing. What that meant was that we were put in the back room used for parties and business meetings. Why they thought putting us next to a group of 30 was a good idea, I'll never know. We were behind a screen so by the time the roar hit an 8 it was too late to move. Also, the crowd that mills outside is full of young street kids who were looking to mess with us. They had to be chased away by security. Not really the view we wanted. I would have been happier in the bar. As for the food, it was delivered exactly as we ordered it. The oyster selection was large and really tasty. I ordered the King Crab's legs, my wife and the NY strip. The crab was huge and tasty. Cooked exactly right and full of sweet meat. The NY strip wasn't great. Too many herbs suggest a lower quality meat and this was herbaceous. They gave a great key lime cheesecake for dessert. Definitely have that but stay away from the steak, or maybe that's a given in a fish restaurant.

Went to this restaurant while visiting Atlanta. I ordered the atlantic salmon cedar w/ northwest berry sauce, king crab legs(which were gigantic), lump blue crab cakes w/ fennel & watercress salad, and mushroom risotto. Everything was delicious and the risotto was to die for!! I definitely plan on going back on my next visit.

I've only come to their happy hours, and not eat in the main restaurant. FOOD: First of all they have great happy hour drink specials. Each night from 4pm-6:30pm they have a drink special. They also have food specials for really cheap. We got cosmopolitans for $7.50. Also, we got beer battered mushrooms for $1.95, half pound cheeseburger for $2.95, and crab fritters for $4.95. The burger itself was very tasty and cheaper than McDonald's. The mushrooms were very tasty, but the crab fritters were more like hush puppies. TIP: If you park in the parking garage, make sure you get your ticket validated.

We stopped in at 6:15pm on a Friday night. We thought we would take a chance. The restaurant was not super buys, a few empty table, room at the bar. They told us 20-39 min. We went to the bar. First the waitress came to our bar table and wiped it off, and never came back. Another waitress, came ant took orders from others that sat after us. We had to flag a waitress. Finally got someone and got drinks. My motion was very good. After 45 min, we hadn't been called for a table. My friend asked the host and he said that They had to seat one more person. After another 20 min, I went to check. The host said to me that they had to seat TWO other people. So obviously, I was a bit irritated and said that 20 min before they told my friend one person needed to be seated. That we were also one hour into our wait that was supposed to be a 20-30 minute long. To make a LOOOONG story short, they gave us all kinda of excuses, reservations came in, etc etc. meanwhile, the empty tables that were empty when we first walked in 1h10 ago, were still empty. We finally asked to speak to manager. He was no help and had gave all the same excuses. But finally after 1h20 and lots of complaining we went had a table. Food was good. We got a mixed green salad with candied walnut. I had a grilled salmon with mashed potatoes, green beans and carrots and it was very good and well cooked. My friend had the tilapia and it was also very well cooked. The service was good as well. Once we sat down, the service was good. But really the initial service sucked and manager had no costumer skills.

Happy hour + $1.95 fries + $3.95 garlic white wine mussels = good on my wallet. There are also inexpensive drink specials and wines and great live music ("Marco from Decatur" with the mohawk and acoustic guitar was awesome). Attentive service from David and the rest of the bar staff.

Came here tonight with my co-workers. The food was pretty good. I got the 3 item combination: shrimp scampi, grilled salmon, and the crab cake. The salmon was a little over cooked. The shrimp was good, but only had 3 on the skewer. As for the crab cake, it was the best out of the 3 items. I went to the same restaurant in Beverly Hills last month. I have to say, the one in Atlanta is better.

I am a frequent of the chain in atlanta and Chicago. I have never visited this site but decided to change from my usual spot. Carol our server gets a five star rating. She was more than polite and a great tour guide through the menu. I appreciated her kind service. But was quite disappointed. I placed my RSVP online. In addition I called to verify my special request. It was my partners birthday and I wanted it to be special with his favorite drink and desert and a special seat. Wow! I didn't get any of those request. The place only had three party's seated and we sat right next to the loudest group next to the door which I hate. They didn't acknowledge his bday so I just told her. The washrooms were not clean. Food was ok nothing spectacular. I would not return

At 12:30 pm on a weekday, in a restaurant that was not full, it took 15 minutes to place a drink order and 30 more minutes to place a food order (to the manage because the waitress had disappeared). The food arrived about 45 minutes later. The food (Shrimp mac and cheese, fried shrimp) was uninspiring. M&S is part of a large restaurant company and holds itself to be an upper end restaurant and should perform at a much higher level of service and food quality. I would spend my food dollars elsewhere. PS. A "feedback" email to the restaurant went unanswered.

The restaurant is situated next to the CNN center and the Philips arena. So quite a venue for a restaurant. It is also on the corner of Centennial park. We went there prior to a Thrashers game, so in a bit of a hurry to make the game. The dining room has two parts: i) a classic dining room and ii) patio like setting. We were seated in the classic dining room, which has a number of "cabin" off one side. It is a 1980ties type of setting. We had beet salad and seafood chowder for starters and sea scallops and ahi tuna (chefs special). Both the beet salad and the chowder were really good. We did ask for bread with our starters and it did arrive 10-12 minutes later. The sea scallops were also good. I had the Ahi Tuna which was OK, but the wasabi mash had way too much wasabi for my taste. We had a bottle of Nautilus, Marlborough - Sauvignon Blanc with the meal. A fresh/fruity wine that was really good. Our server was best described as inattentive. We saw him barely and when we asked for anything it took forever. In summary pretty good food (4 stars), mediocre service at best (2 stars), and an no feature setting (3 stars). If you have to attend a function at CNN, Centennial park or the Philips Arena this is a great place for seafood, but be prepared for mediocre service.

I work at the CNN Center, so I go to the bars/eateries within the building for a post work drink/nosh with coworkers on occasion. We never come here. Occasionally I decide to give MS a go on my own. Every time, I am sad. The food is "meh" and expensive, the drinks are way overpriced, and the staff is nice, but not enough to make up for the subpar food and drink. Don't bother with this place. Leave it to the convention goers and homeless who wander in from the park. There are better options nearby.

Mccormick & Schmick's definitely gets a 5 star rating. The service was by far the best I have seen in a long time. I went there for lunch with a few other colleagues and we had a great time. It was only 4 of us and I felt like at any given time, any member of the staff was there to assist. Good Job!! Keep up the fantastic service. The food was great as well.

Wouldn't necessarily recommend for lunch or dinner - though the food is good, it's overpriced for what you get. But this place is tough to beat for happy hour! Great specials on food and drinks. Go with plenty of friends and you won't even notice that you are there with whatever sports/CNN fans/tourists that happen to be about that night.

I've been to McCormick's about half dozen times now because my company has season tickets to Hawk and its just convenient to go there. M and I started otu great. The food the first few times was delicious and we all went away pretty happy. I've had teh ahi tuna, steak, salmon in puffed pastry and all were pretty delish. The annoying thing lately about M has been teh poor service. For example, when I ordered teh Ahi tuna served rare, the waitress bought back another type of fish that was fully cooked and tried to convince me that it was teh food I ordered. I think not. Last time, the boss and I both ordered the filet. Mine was good - it was slightly more medium thatn I like but it was still edible to me. My bosses filet was cold in the center and his side of broccoli was also cold. One of the other girls had ordered the trio of seafood and teh scallops were not thicker than maybe a quarter inch, which we all felt was a ripoff. Their lobster bisque is pretty amazing - the lobster is fresh and the bisque is creamy. All teh food is pretty pricy so it is quite disheartning to be served bad food with poor service. We are looking for a better alternative but meanwhile I'll stick to the lobster bisque and the wedge from now on. S

Where to start? OK the menu was confusing listing ingredients at the top that are included in the menu items below; or at least that is what the server told us. However, when we called him on the bay scallops he had to check with the chef and came back with "there is actually nothing on the menu right now that includes bay scallops". Lame! A party of five, we were all underwhelmed . Not that it was bad; you just expect really good food at these prices and we didn't get it. However, the service was really bad. We were seated in a tiny little room which made it impossible to get the server's attention and he did not bother to check with us very often, leaving us with empty glasses and broken dreams. Pretentious with nothing to be pretentious about. Never again.

We had longstanding reservations for dinner before the BonJovi concert. We still waited over 20 minutes amidst what can only be described as a zoo. The staff was overwhelmed by the crush of reservations and walk-ins. The server was ok, but did include an unauthorized addition of a shrimp topping to my fish entree. The meal itself was ok, if a bit expensive. We were pressed for time, so I didn't challenge the "up-sale". I'd search long and hard for alternatives, but if I went back, I'd leave an additional half hour.

Found this chain when I was in Seattle...awesome! Ten kinds of fresh oysters? Big azz mussels in your choice of 7 different sauces? Rock on! When I relocated here permanently, I was pleased to find the Mc and Schmick's in town. The Seattle branch had an unbelievable Happy Hour that I could never partake in, and I thought the same standard would be met, if not the selection (taking into account that we ARE in Atlanta...and the nearest ocean is...?)...not so fast, sister-love. Bad assumption on my part! The Happy Hour menu here in Atlanta only moderately resembled the menu I saw in Seattle. Understandably so, with the vast difference in available fresh seafood between the two. What disappointed me about M&S here was the quality of the food. Granted, I've not had a meal here, just HH Snacks, but what I had was not impressive. The fish tacos absolutely sucked. They were definately leftovers or scraps from another, much more impressive dish. Silverskin still on and the combo screamed so: grilled salmon and smoked salmon "chips" with a little whitefish thrown in for good measure. The oyster shooters were also suspect. The oysters themselves were nice, but I have no idea what that sauce was that was served with them. Sweet chili, catsup (not ketchup, if you know what I mean), soy and what? Oh well. I thought that since Red Lobster can be consistant from city to city (within reason) that this nicer and classier joint (within reason) should be able to follow suit. Maybe the big RL can teach these guys a lesson?

I would give this place a 2.5 if that were an option, only because their recent renovations are nice and I had some appetizers for a company event yesterday that were pretty tasty. However, I ate there earlier this year, for a birthday dinner, and it was complete and utter fail. We had to wait to be seated, even though there was a reservation. The server was terrible. He made up an order that was not what I asked for and insisted it was. Perhaps he was hard of hearing. He did end up, finally, bringing me what I'd wanted and comping the meal, but he wasn't happy about it. Also, it took so long for my correct dish to come that I just had to get it to go, and didn't get to eat anything beyond what I picked out of others' plates. They were pretty slow, and I guess busy, but whatever. What food I did eat was just alright. I thought this place was supposed to be fancy or something. I've eaten and experienced much better. Hopefully with the new upgrades, they've also upgraded their service and staff. If I get brought back for another work function and things go better, I'll update. We shall see.

After checking in at the Omni, I decided a nice seafood dinner was in order. The McCormick & Schmick's in Boston is top notch (better than Legal IMO), so I figured this would be a safe bet. Not so much. The lump crab cakes were more stringy than lumpy. Not to mention a bit pasty in consistency. The chowder was mostly potato with a few clams and some corn tossed in. I've had canned chowder that was just as good. Fried green tomatoes were ensconced in a thick, hard and bland breading. The only dish I ordered that was cooked correctly was my teeny slice of swordfish. I wish I had gone into the CNN food court instead.

I visited McCormick at CNN Center for lunch this past weekend. This restaurant is a real treat: the interior is both luxurious and down-to-earth, and the prices are quite reasonable compared to many seafood restaurants. I love the rich green color of the carpets and walls, and the intimate private booths they have available to dine in. I'm also very impressed by their menus, which are printed on oversized, thick-stock paper every day. It happened to be my Mom's birthday, and they even customized the header on the menu to wish her a happy birthday! I ordered the Rainbow Trout entree (most seafood dishes are seasonal), which came with green beans and mashed sweet potatoes. It was a very generous portion of fish, especially for lunch, and the flavor was great. The rest of my family got the Cedar Plank Salmon, Parmesan Crusted Flounder, and the Seafood stirfry. My Mom was disappointed with her flounder, and the dish was removed from our check. They also gave her a free dessert for her birthday. The service was very good over all. Polite, attentive, and accurate. The manager was very helpful and kind as well. Overall, a great experience.

After visiting and enjoying Prime Meridian, and not wanting to travel far, we opted to try McCormick & Schmick's. After reading some scary reviews of another New England based seafood restaurant just a couple blocks away, M&S seemed like a good choice. I found the dance music playing in the background with the constant thumping of the base beyond distracting. Almost headache inducing. I won't mention our server's name, as I don't want to get him in trouble. We started off, since we aren't wine drinkers asking for a bottle of Pellegrino. Sadly, they neglected to have any chilled. No other brand sparkling water was carried (Perrier or anything else) Only still water. I get nervous when I see broken seals on still water. Tend to think filtered tap water has been put in the bottle. Note to all servers: ALWAYS show sealed bottles to the folks at the table. Not a cap ill-placed, to appear it hasn't been previously opened. The parm crusted flounder was quite tasty, though the accompanying side of "tender-VERY crisp" green beans. It felt like they had about a 45 second blanch. Our service was spotty at best, though our server seemed to be trying hard. Another server appeared almost pained due the heels she was wearing and trying to make it around. I was really rooting for M&S, as I'm not a Legal Seafood fan. Sadly, we kept trying to overlook each small thing. But those "things" just kept adding up too quickly. So mark downs for: Ambiance (background music) Beverage service (no chilled sparkling water? really?) Food (the entree was good, the warm bread felt like it was nuked, but not enough butter, green beans? fresh from the garden, not passed over the stove top) Service (on the verge of "inept" NOT the level of service I expect at a place like this with the prices they ask) So when you plan on visiting M & S's, my recommendation would to be explore other options. There are several "high-end" seafood restaurants nearby, or moderate/inexpensive joints that will provide a better experience than what we had here.

Tonight was wet and miserable, but we had received an invitation for a lobster tail/filet mignon a la carte meal for $24.95, reservations suggested. I made reservations and told them that three of us were coming in to indulge in the lobster tail/steak special. When we arrived, the waitress was very nice and we told her immediately why we were there, we had been looking forward to the lobster for two days. We ordered a bottle of wine and the lobster/mashed potatoes (delicious). The potatoes were delivered pronto, but there was a lengthy wait for the wine. After she had poured the wine, then she said that they were out of the lobster tails but would be able to substitute crab legs. Note: crab legs are not offered on their menu. This was a definite bait and switch. Beware. We did not accept but paid for the wine and potatoes and left. If you are thinking lobster, crab legs are not a substitute. There was no other accommodation offered, i.e as you may order anything from out menu. The chef said that 28 people ordered the dish on Saturday and they were all out. One would think they would have had an ample amount on hand since this was their advertised special.

Perfect trifecta of bad at this restaurant today at lunch. It was packed, 30 minute wait or sit in the bar. Sat at a eight top with two business associates. Fillin we were sharing with four conventioneers, but ok. The waitress was overwhelmed from start to finish. We waited 45 minutes for entrees. I ordered a kobe burger medium, arrived well done to burnt. I would have requested a do over, but I couldn't find the waitress. Near the end if the meal I find advise her that the premium burger was overdone, but I couldn't wait four then this fix it. I received no adjustment, no manager visit, nothing. I'd avoid this place.

First let me say that I usually enjoy the food, at this restaurant chain, I've been to several different locations, across the country and the food is always great. That being said the service at the Atlanta CNN location was horrible. First I tried to get a table for one and they said they were booked for the evening at 9 o'clock. Okay no problem so I waited for a barstool and ordered. After thirty minutes, of seeing nothing but my sprite, I complain to the barkeep, And he serves me cold lobster bisque soup. Having waited a long time for food, I was hungry and ate it. Five minutes later my steak comes. Five minutes after that the bread comes with butter. A few minutes after that I'm asked if I would like some steak sauce. After finishing my meal it took me more than 15 minutes to the bartenders attention so he could give me the bill, the man was four feet away from me, but was too busy yacking and drinking his soda, to pay any attention to the guy waving at him. It took a long time to get the bartender to give me the bill and then again a long time to take my check. At this point it was 10 o'clock and the bar was pretty empty, but the barkeeps were having too much fun flirting with each other and making jokes. Although the food was ok the service was horrible. This is an expensive restaurant. The service should be top notch, instead it was piss poor. There are many good restaurants in Atlanta, This was not one of them.

Inside CNN building, great location to downtown hotels. Side salads were great, yellow fin tuna entree was good but overpriced. Apple pie for desert was awesome. Service was ok. We went close to closing time, maybe that was why.
