What a hidden gem! I adore this place. After months of unfairly dismissing it as just another corporate building cafe, probably filled with sad sandwiches, I finally ate there and discovered how great this place really is. Pros: Most importantly, the food is fantastic. There's a salad line, where my friend gets a beautiful giant salad with salmon, corn, beans, and tons of veggies. I always head straight for the grill line. I seriously had the best chicken ever here. I'm not kidding. And I'm very picky about grilled chicken. This was flavorful, juicy, perfectly cooked. The meat specials change regularly, and they're always fantastic. Sometimes with sauces that take it up a notch. Like the pork loin with teriyaki sauce. YUM. My favorite hot sides are the mashed sweet potatoes, the cheesy cauliflower, and the garlic green beans. Favorite cold side is the cucumber tomato salad. But seriously, plenty of options that change frequently. I also challenge you to find a lovelier staff than Andre, Ali, and Ana. I feel like a "regular" and it makes the experience that much more enjoyable. Oh, and the prices are so reasonable!! I get a nice portion of grilled meat and two sides and a drink for under $10. They also have convenient packages of snacks to take back to your desk. The coffee is also awesome. Batdorf & Bronson! Good stuff. I would come here even if I worked in another building. Don't know why other people have had bad experiences, or if the ownership changed recently, but this place is not to be missed. Cons: I didn't discover it sooner! Ok. It's lunchtime, you know where to find me...

I once met someone eating here who didn't work in the building. This was confusing to me because that means they came here voluntarily with the intention of eating the food. A normal person would not come here voluntarily to eat food (well, at least not more than once). The owners/managers are actually quite clever...they have a captive audience and they know it. Why not overcharge while spending as little as possible on ingredients and staff. Anyway, the Market Street Cafe never ceases to produce entertaining stories... * Once ordered "market fresh" salmon and brought it back to my desk. The salmon was so smelly that there was a small office riot * If you order eggs (or anything on the girll), be aware the "chef" will attack them with half a bottle of unidentifiable spray (we think perhaps a chemical agent that keeps people coming back) * Once ordered the chicken tenders and they think "tender" means it should be raw * In lieu of grilling meats, they have a over/microwave type thing (like you see at Subway). The result is not too bad, but not exactly like the real thing. * The soups contain whatever ingredients are about to go (or already have gone) bad. Nice. * The guy who works the grill may be suicidal, and I don't blame him. I'll stop. Don't go here. Or if you do, order something they can't mess up...like bread or a bottled water.

Last night we gathered the troops for the grand opening of Market Street Cafe. Elizabeth H., Kevin P., and the gang congregated to nosh on the bevy of food Market Street Cafe offers. Sushi? Yup. Just as good as your average Japaense joint in Atlanta. It helps the head chef from Aqua Blue was in the house. Tacos? Oh yes sir! I sampled the pork belly, tandori chicken, and beer-battered fried fish. Topped with fresh slaw and different salsas these tacos made my tummy happy. Fresh bread? Like it was baked in an Italian oven with warm spinach dip, tomato & goat cheese fondue, or mozarella caprese. The place is open at 7 a.m. on weekdays to accomodate the breakfast crowd in the Promience building. Plus they have a full bar for those who want to step it up a notch. Market Street Cafe's owner popped by our table to tell us a bit more. During lunch they offer a tossed salad bar, fresh soups, and all sorts of desserts. We even got to sample the creme brulee. If you work in Buckhead, this should be one of your go-to lunch spots. You can also call in your to-go order and they offer catering.

I work in the Prominence building, and I actually hate how convenient this "restaurant" is for several reasons. The breakfast and lunch hour's main line cook has the biggest attitude problem, is slow, tries to take 5 orders at once and in turn messes up orders, forgets orders entirely, and then will look at you like it was all your fault when you speak up about one of his myriad mistakes. I've never felt like I was inconveniencing someone more to do their job, and I'm not the only one who feels this way. I've heard SO many people complain about this guy, yet he's still there. The owner of the restaurant is a pompous jerk. He doesn't even like his employees! I've seen him glare at them for simply doing their job, and never ONCE witnessed him crack a smile on his face. He tried to kick me out of the restaurant once while they were between hours so I could use my phone in a quiet place. If you don't want building employees to come in, employees who PAY to eat this deli counter food, then shut and lock the door! Someone needs to tell this guy that he isn't running a 5-star restaurant, and I'm no vagrant who just wandered off the street. Which leads me to my last problem. The cost. Over-priced, mediocre food with a $5 minimum on debit/credit card purchases. I have spent way too much money (regrettably, but that goes back to the convenience factor) to eat here, but apparently I'm paying for poor service as well. The cashiers are nice as f--- though.

Amazing service and the made to order salads are fantastic! I also love that they cook fresh seafood to order right in front of you! Can't beat the value and convenience!!!

Um, Lauren P. must be talking about a different restaurant. No sushi, pork belly or tacos here! If you want coffee, come by (but not at 7 - it opens at 7:30) and Anabel will cheerfully pour or make you something great. Never had the baked goods, but they smell awesome each morning. Cyrstal also serves as the bartender - on Thursdays. No idea why one night is better than others, but it would be great to have drink options on other days. As for the rest - eh. Lunch quality varies dramatically. Salads can be good, or yucky. I've had lettuce that tasted like fish, and that was without salmon being added as the protein. Waiting for the hot food is a hassle, as the lines are usually long, probably because folks have figured out the salad challenges. Sandwiches and wraps can be OK, but how can you mess up cold cuts? Don't bother to go off the board, like asking for the corned beef from the grill side to be used in a wrap in the sandwich station - not part of the program! (Wait, isn't a Reuben a sandwich?) Bottom line - coffee or a drink on Thursday - thumbs up. Otherwise, if you work in the building, there is a thunderstorm outside, and you may still want to go elsewhere.
