My rating is based solely on my experience ordering and waiting for food that never came. Apparently my order was cancelled 23 minutes later because they didn't have the ingredients for my bacon onions and cheese omelet and French toast. They didn't even have the decency to call to let me know that.....I will never order takeout from them again. I should have known better after reading the bad reviews about take out orders....

food, no. dessert, yes. ordered via zifty. the reviews at the top were 5 stars so maybe my expectations were a little too high. I ordered the lamb tibis and the original sweet crepes. Lamb tibis - small tiny kibbles of lamb that were not the texture of lamb. I ate two bites and threw it out. the crepe tasted like a cardboard sponge, It was traumatizingly disgusting. I took a picture, maybe you can see what I mean. the original sweet crepes - have nutella and bananas. I ate the bananas after evenly smothering them with nutella. The crepe was OKAY on this one, a real crepe. 3 stars only bc of this. I might try the other ones but tbh that lamb wtvr was so awful I don't know if I will ever try this place again.

Give my notable hung-over state, I needed a calming atmosphere and a bit of slow food to ease me into Saturday. Kimi's delivered with a buffet of the slowest of soul foods and that homestyle service that keeps a girl at ease. I was thrilled that tea/coffee was included in the buffet, for I sorely needed some but might not have paid for it otherwise. The actual food quality was medium - I've had more flavourful Ethiopian food before. I appreciated that spread contained half Ethiopian and half American faire, however. Think Injera, all the wats, the cabagge and carrots, as well as breakfast potatoes and french toast and fruit and biscuits. Nothing tasted bad, and it really did hit the spot. After lazing around for 40min or so, I packed up and left that perfect day-after haven and stepped right out into Saturday.

This is a 'tweener. In between a 3 and 4 star. Quaint. Smaller than you see in the pictures here. Good vibe. I'm guessing it's a husband/wife combo that own and operate the place. Took my gal here for her very first Ethiopian experience. Being open minded, we simply threw ourselves on the mercy of the chef's choices. It was all rock-solid with nothing standing out in an either good, nor bad way. Right down the middle of the fairway. The couple is just too damn cute to pass up. Many local regulars were in and out, and everyone was treated well, with many smiles and genuine concern about being well taken care of. I would not hesitate to stop here again, fer sure.

Had breakfast/ lunch here on Friday. It was delicious! Word of advice, do not come here if you're in a hurry. It seems that they make everything fresh when ordered, so the food takes a little while after being ordered. We were in a bit of a hurry, but decided after eating that the long wait was worth it! My sister, who I rarely see eat eggs, ordered an omelet with a bunch of veggies & bacon. She loved it. The seasoned potatoes she got on the side were really great! Her boyfriend had the French toast. He thought it was delicious & was very pleased. It is worth noting- the French toast was thick fluffy raisin bread, not a problem for us, but it was not specified on menu or by our server. I had the flatbread with Cajun chicken, peppercinis, cilantro & sour cream. I didn't think I was hungry enough to eat the whole thing, but it was so delicious I forced myself to. I also had a mimosa. The champagne used was surprisingly good & I'm pretty sure the juice was homemade, not positive though. The ingredients were all so fresh & delicious, I'll definitely be stopping back in there soon! Hopefully they have beef simosas next time!

What an unexpected little gem, right in the heart of Little Five Points! I decided to try this place because I received one of those HalfOffDepot or DoubleTakeDeal offers to pay $10 for $20 and figured it was a great way to try a new place. I live a few miles away, and it was an easy walk via the Beltline and Freedom Parkway Trail. What a treat! Upon arriving, we noticed they had a breakfast buffet, AYCE for $7.99. Sold! It had a great mixture of the usuals: eggs, bacon, french toast, fruit, muffins, etc. plus the ethnic flavors of authentic Ethiopian cuisine: homemade injera, sauted greens and others. Everything was delicious. But what really made the experience was Kimi herself, her staff and the other patrons. The place is tiny, but in a way it made it feel like home. Patrons immediately starting having conversations with each other across tables, laughing and swapping tales, and when we saw others outside perusing the menu, we would jump up, open the door and invite them in to the "best breakfast around" -- and they did. The staff was super friendly and there on a dime when you needed more water. Kimi herself came out to talk with us and explain how she made her injera. It didn't feel like you were at a restaurant: it felt like you were at a family table. (If you like your family, that is.) :) If you're looking for great food in a sweet little bitro, I highly recommend Kimi's. It's unique and special. We will definitely be back!

They have several $2 specials on Tuesday night which are great. I got the creole crepe which was good, just a little too spicy. They did a remodel recently which is nice. The service is friendly and they made me feel welcome. I also had the ingera app which was way too spicy for me. Good flavor but spicy. Overall a nice time and I would be back.

Did this food just dance on my tongue like a perfect ballet of yumminess? Yes, ma'am. All of the veggies on the "build your own veggie plate" are vegan! :) I just let the server choose which ones he preferred. They were all great! We also got the Ethiopian traditional honey wine! Housemade, delicious and I wasn't expecting to drink mead tonight, so now I can mark that off the bucket list. (Sorry to the honey restricting vegans. I know it's controversial.) The clientele was fun too, adding happiness and warmth to the experience! Enjoy!

The food was average, but the delivery took close to two hours. I'm down the street and it definitely shouldn't have taken that long. By the time it got here, everything was cold and soggy. Pretty bad. I'd stay away

All I have to say is: wow. Go have some chicken Alfredo crêpes. They are LIFE changing! Throw in the personal service and adorable store front and I'm sold. Going back very soon to try the rest of the menu, and never going anywhere else for crêpes ever. I love you kimi

On 03/01/2015 My date and I arrived for dinner around 5ish its small and quant the waiter was great we placed our order. I ordered the SHRIMP AND POTATO CREPES, My date ordered the CHICKEN ALFREDO CREPES, Both crepes were drenched in sauce the potatoes were diced and the shrimp were just as small ( they were salad shrimp..... Really) the children on the other one was really really dry the crepes were soggy do to the amount of sauce on them it tasted and looked like we were eating throw up. The moral of the story is DONT SERVE SALAD SHRIMP UNLESS ITS ON A SALAD!!!!!!!

The boyfriend and I had originally planned to have dinner elsewhere - but this other place was packed, and they were running out of food; our back-up plan was also really busy and had run out of seating. At this point we were ravenous and didn't want to wait for thirty something minutes...enter Kimi's Bistro. We noticed it because a.) it was down the street from our second choice restaurant and b.) because it occupied the old OMG Taco space. I was a really big fan of OMG Taco, I'm still sad it closed but oh well - live in the present! Thankfully, it was completely empty when we walked in. The hostess/possible owner greeted us immediately, gave us menus and took our drink orders. She was very sweet and really complimentary towards the boyfriend and I. For our entrees, I ordered the 'Salmon Benedict' (with a side of diced potatoes; $7) and the boyfriend ordered the savory 'Cajun Shrimp Crepe' ($8). Pros: Everything on the menu was pretty cheap, I don't believe there was any entree over $10. Cons: It took a long time for our food to come out, almost 30 minutes, and we were the only customers. We also noticed a few ants scurrying on the counter we were sitting at. Again, they were very nice, updating us on the status of our food and asking if we needed any refills. The food itself was pretty 'meh'. I've definitely had better eggs benedict elsewhere, the egg was a little too solid, and with the salmon it was still bland. The potatoes were pretty dry, but with the ketchup they were a lot better. The crepe was more flavorful, but it got really soggy very quickly, the shrimp was microscopic, but the crepes themselves were pretty small. Overall, the food was okay; the customer service was great, the owners were so earnest, I couldn't help but root for them. I just wish the food was better and that the restaurant was cleaner.

Kimi's Bistro opened July 4, 2013 in part of the old OMG Taco space in Little Five Points. It's across the street from Outback Bikes, which is down the street from Rag-O-Rama. "Kimi" is a play on the names of the husband-wife owners. Only a month old, the restaurant seems to be working its kinks out and the menu is still evolving. Kimi's serves breakfast all day. Breakfast foods include eggs, omelettes, French toast, waffles, and crepes. Non-breakfast items include salads and sandwiches. Kiba, one of the owners, is Ethiopian and may introduce a small menu of Ethiopian cuisine in the future as customers have been asking about it. Prices for most of the entrees are generally around $6-7 each. We stopped in for lunch on Saturday. The menu says Kimi's is "Home of the Famous French Ctrepes [sic]" and the specials board on the sidewalk advertised a Cajun chicken crepe for $8.99. We ordered one of those and a $5.99 veggie burger, which came with a veggie bean burger patty, lettuce, avocado, and tomato. The Cajun chicken crepe special consisted of two crepes stuffed with plenty of chicken. Other ingredients included cream and chopped onion and pepper. The crepes were appetizingly spicy. The chicken was sufficiently fresh and the sauce was flavorful. I especially liked the soft and delicate pancake wrapping. However, I thought $8.99 was overpriced for a simple plate of two crepes. Perhaps if a side was included, it would've been reasonable. The veggie burger was disappointing. When it hit the table, it looked lifeless. The bun and patty were smushed and flattened. The worst part were the slices of avocado. The avocado wasn't ripe and the slices were rock hard and virtually inedible. We ended up removing them from the sandwich. A small, ordinary iceberg lettuce side salad accompanied the sandwich. If you remember OMG Taco, Kimi's occupies the "lower" portion of OMG's former space. The restaurant is small and the atmosphere is casual. It doesn't look like much, if anything, has been done in terms of renovation. There are a few tables, a bar, and counter seating against the windows facing the street. We sat at the windows, which ended up being dirty/dusty. For example, there were some dead gnats at the bottom of the window sill. Also, my placemat was stained and dirty, which I wouldn't have expected of a new restaurant (or any restaurant for that matter). I had to shake it off before eating. Service was good. The owners were nice and I hope they improve and succeed. Parking along Euclid is metered Monday-Saturday and free on Sundays. When going to L5P, I like to park along one of the residential side streets such as Washita Ave. or Austin Ave.

Ordered via grubhub. Today was my second time. Thought I would give it one more chance. Both times, food was delivered way past the maximum time they said. First time, food was cold. Pretty unfortunate seeing as I spent almost 30 bucks for a cold late meal. Second time around, waited 30 plus extra and not a call.. No door knocking, so instead, I called and said dont bring it here because I don't even want it anymore. Needless to say, I will never be eating here again and I will by no means recommend this to any of my friends. Save your time, money and appetite.

Don't ever do delivery. My fault. I should have put on some clothes and went out for brunch. Instead, I ordered in from Kimi's bistro. $40, cold breakfast for two in an hour and a half. Ordered my breakfast at 1123am, arrived at 1:05pm. Upon inspecting the order, I noticed they forgot my latte. Instead of offering to go back, the delivery person said to call the restaurant and get the charge removed. Once the driver left, I noticed that the other latte they did manage to bring didn't come with any sweetener (I asked for Splenda, would have settled for anything). The Belgium waffles came with about two table spoons of syrup. The bacon was crumbled and greasy. The food was cold, obviously. So it's hard to give an objective review on the taste of the food after I nuked it in the microwave. But, with that said, it didn't taste all that good. The portions were tiny as well. I suspect you get more if you dine in? I can't imagine that amount of food filling up a normal sized plate. So it looks like Kimi's bistro, at best, just isn't ready to do take out. Which is fine, just don't do take out. At worst, the delivery experience is just as bad as the dine in.

Food was bland. Took forever for them to get food out even though there was only 1 other table. They had drinks special going on, (Long Island, "momosa") which tasted like they came straight out of a mixer - super sweet and flat. We went here after finding it listed on scout mob. They didn't even honor full terms, saying it wouldn't count for drinks or their veggie special they had running that day. Rarely post on here, but this place was so bad had to make sure people avoid if at all possible.

The Ethiopian food here is excellent. Compared to other Ethiopian restaurants, it is more Americanized: Western presentation, white meat chicken, less soupy... but this is all a good thing. Get the Awaze tibs and a veggie platter. Very delicious.

Placed an order on Foodler because they were the first thing open. Well, there was a mix up and they open at 11 and not 10, but they handled the delay in our order in a very professional manner and let us know as soon as the driver was on his way. Our food came out perfectly and was absolutely delicious. Only reducing a star because of the mix up over opening time. Will order again.

The steak tibis was soooo freakin delicious. Ask for extra injera bread and you'll be set! The sauce was just spectacular and you'll want to eat it all. I haven't tried anything else yet but I'll def be back for that dish. Their hot sauce was great too!

I was really looking forward to having a good Ethiopian restaurant close by, but I would not recommend this place. I ordered the doro wet for $12 and there was ONE chicken wing, ONE boiled egg and injera bread. I attempted to call them to see if this was normal or if there was a mistake. Their phone rolled right over to voicemail. Avoid this place unless you enjoy being ripped off. There are too many good Ethiopian restaurants in Atlanta to waste your time here.

We were starving and dropped into Kimi's. We ordered off the menu, which probably was a mistake. Kimi was a very nice lady. The food was just not that great, and a humongous roach crawled across the floor by our table. I hate to give a bad review. I love Ethiopian food, and I think we should have opted for the brunch buffet of Eithiopian food and perhaps this review could be more positive. This place feels like a candidate for Restaurant Possible.

First off, the food was delicious (pretty small portions) but really quite good. The service however, was pretty awful. There were 3 of us, the only table that was available was a 2 person table so they sat us there (which was totally fine with us) however, they never brought us a 3rd set of silverware, never brought us a 3rd napkin, and after asking at least 4 times they still never brought us a 3rd glass of water. (So me and my dad shared a napkin and water all night). In addition to this, we sat down around 7:30- and our food did not arrive until about 9:10. We had ordered an appetizer, (which we reminded the waiter about to make sure he knew it was an appetizer to bring out before the meal). But, the appetizer came out at the same time as the meal (well, as half the meal they forgot about my brothers order and so even more waiting to get his food). Finally, after we eat, we ask for the check. It took about 15-20 for us to get the check as our waiter was now at the bar mixing drinks for a groups of girls who had JUST walked in the door and sat at the bar. This was super frustrating not only because we were beyond ready to leave, but also because there were quite a lot of people waiting to eat/be seated. That being said, I'll never dine-in again, but would consider take-out because the food was pretty solid.

The injera bread is delectable and seems to have more whole grain than some we've had elsewhere, making it tastier by comparison, but it's still light and spongy and served in very generous portions. We ordered it with lentils and other delicious sides for an authentic Ethiopian meal. The prices are incredible. The service is good, and we enjoyed the ambience. We will definitely go back often.

After so much turnover at this location, I hope this place makes it. The Ethiopian food is outstanding -- some of the best in Atlanta. We had two vegetarian plates so that we could try all the vegetarian dishes. They were all excellent, especially the lentils and the shiro. $2 PBRs are a great value to wash it all down. Service was extremely friendly and knowledgeable, but a little slow.

Great little place in l5p. I ordered the chicken club and not only was it rather large, but it was good too. The fries were a little generic, but the main entree maid up for it. Definitely worth trying out.

Kimmi's has a great veggie plate. We stopped by on our first visit to Atlanta and loved it. Service was great and the atmosphere was modern and very clean.
