So, Johnny's is now Jack's. Other than a small piece of paper we got from our waiter saying that the owner's were the same, not sure what the full-story is. Regardless, the menu is exactly the same. 1/2 price wings on Monday's, $1 4th Ward Brew everyday, and yummy reasonably priced pies. The atmosphere is eclectic. The service isn't out-of-this-world but it's tolerable. Johnny's didn't deliver. Jack's does. That makes Jack's SO much better than Johnny's. I definitely recommend it.

Jake's pizza offers standard pizza. It is nothing to write home about. The beer selection is maybe 1 standard deviation above average, albeit they have great drink specials. I never had the wings. Their pizza is edible. It's loud and feels a little dingy. All in all, it's a great place for a cheap hang out to grab some drinks with friends.

Johnny's is the best for Trivia on Thursday nights. We always have a blast and the pizza isn't bad either! Sex drugs and rock and roll trivia!

I've eaten at Johnny's Pizza a few times now, and have always left there fat & happy. Sure, the salad was just sort-of, "meh," but leafy vegetables aren't really why we eat at dive pizza joints anyway, right? So, the food gets a B+ I've been for trivia night, which was active & fun---very entertaining. I don't really do many of these trivia things, so I can't really compare with other experiences. Entertainment: a solid B As for the service... they're really friendly and reasonably quick, but much faster at the bar than at tables (no surprise, I guess.) Also, there's frequently been a DJ on hand, and a jukebox up front. I mention this because on pretty much every occasion so far, I've had trouble finding a place to sit where I could actually talk over the music and hold a conversation. This is a MAJOR pet peeve of mine----I totally understand that music gets loud because the people working there aren't socializing and like to listen to music while they're working. However, if I can't talk with my friends because the bartender really loves The Clash, there's a problem. Anyway, so service/atmosphere gets a C-. So all-in-all, this Johnny's location is good & worth a visit if you're in the neighborhood. I probably wouldn't go out of my way to get there, though.

Yummy pizza! I have only had it delivered to me, but it's so good! One of my favorite places for pizza in Atlanta for sure. I always order any pizza in this city "well done". It's reasonable for it's prices, and it's fast to deliver.

Jack's is the perfect hole in the wall pizza place. It is places like this that make me wish didn't live in the burbs!!! We split the cheese bread, which was good, not spectacular, but good. The beer was cheap ($4 pitcher...hello!), and the pizza was amazing! I had a slice of the Big Mama and let me tell you it was probably the best pizza I have had in a really long time! The food, the atmosphere, the clientele, even the music was great!

One of my favorite spots! Great pizza and wings. $1 beers are an added bonus. The staff takes really good care of us as well. I walk out of there with a full belly and a little buzz for $15 bucks! Can't beat that.

The main thing that makes this place so cool is the $1 beers, $4 pitchers, and $3 well drinks... everyday! And the beer really isn't bad, it is the perfect social refreshment and a great compliment to the food. The food... mmm. I did not try the pizza, however I did try the wings and calzone. The wings are baked and they are on the small side but surprisingly I actually liked them! And on Mondays they are 1/2 off so you can get 10 for $4 (they only come in orders of 10). The calzone was also delicious, and the most delicious of it all was the SAUCE. I am a sucker for saucy concoctions and their marinara seriously kicks ass. The general knowledge trivia was heavily skewed in my opinion (not sure if that is how it usually goes), but the cartoon trivia is fun. The patrons here also seemed pretty diverse so that is another plus. I'd come back here for sure.

Not only does Jacks serve great food and GREAT BEER( cheap too $4 pitchers) but the service is OUTSTANDING. C.J. (The MAN) and Sarah (Her Majesty) always make our experience at Jacks fun and memorable, not to mention, the staff remembers your name (especially if your outgoing). Drunk bingo on Fridays is an Atlanta tradition! Not only is Jacks a great place for locals to enjoy good times and great pizza, but it is also one of Atlanta's best restaurants. They're open until 3 on weekends so its perfect! Also, Jacks has a unique rock vibe, so expect people with tats and piercings, but don't let that fool you, they're all just pussycats. Also, Smoking indoors begins at 9, so note that. All in all you're going to have a great time at Jacks, especially if you ask for CJ/Sarah, trust me.

Yeah this is on Highland Ave. now, across the street from P'Cheen. Moving was the best thing that ever happened to this place. The space now is just really really cool. And it's pretty big with a patio in the back. I guess the pizza is pretty good. You know what they say about pizza being like sex... even if it's bad it's still pretty good. That's what I think about Johnny's. I like it because it's a local spot and I've been eating their pies since my baby days of going there after little league games on weekends to celebrate. But this spot ain't yo' momma's Johnny's. The bar aspect gets pretty rowdy after 10 on Wednesdays (at least) when they do a kareoke where talented people haven't been scared away yet. So for everyone still crying in their soup about the Jake's being gone... why not go to a familiar location and drown your sorrows in $3 well drinks and tasty shot specials.

Jack's is a great neighborhood joint with super cheap pizza that is awesome and dollar beers! It has a very laid back staff. It definitely attracts a grunge type of crowd, but all very nice!

This is a great place to have some fun on trivia night. You can get a pitcher of crappy beer for $4 or pints for $1. The pizza is cheap and it tastes good. They would gladly separate our checks without whining and complaining like most places do. There's generally a lot of young people(20s-30s) as is typical for nighttime in this area.

I've been to a couple of other Johnny's locations in the past few years and never been that impressed, so I kind of dragged my heels about coming here. I was pleasantly surprised. Though I'd remembered their pizza as nothing special---warm bread with cheese---they served up a nice refreshing traditional NY style slice that really hit the spot. The atmosphere here is much more chill and homey than other places. The staff---a tattooed and loud-rock blaring bunch---did a nice job and kept up and weren't too short like a lot of other pizza staffs are. Again, nothing too out of the ordinary, but just a good, standard slice that beats out half of the other places just on reliability alone.

A pizzeria with dive-bar attitude: perfect. Jack's is my new favorite spot in Atlanta. There are seating options for every mood, and social situation: bar, high-top table, booth, a back room with couches, and most importantly, a patio. I haven't had the wings, yet, but the couple of specialty slices I've had here are great. There's the Roxanne, which features spinach, feta, black olives, and anchovies; and my favorite slice, the Big C, topped with Canadian bacon, pineapple, provolone, jalapenos, and pepperoncinis -- soooo yummy! As a sauce-lover, I appreciate that the cheese seems to be laid on in discs, rather than shredded and sprinkled. The servers are young and hip, but not in that cooler-than-thou, unapproachable way. The staff is always super-friendly, and if you want to bring a newspaper and kick back for a couple of hours, the atmosphere is such that one feels comfortable setting up shop, for a while. And there's a jukebox. And trivia, 3 nights a week, including hip-hop trivia (!), Sunday nights at 8. And ONE DOLLAR house drafts, everyday. Like I said, perfect! P.S. Not sure if it was mentioned elsewhere, but there is a full bar, here.

When Johnny's was located on Elizabeth Street location, I used to enjoy meeting up there with friends for $1 PBR tall boys and cheese pizza. Since they've moved into their new, larger space, they've raised the prices. It's still cheap, but doesn't feel quite like they're giving it away anymore. Still, Johnny's has good pizza and calzones and a decent selection of beers on tap. The service is a little rough around the edges. If you see the bartender and waiter cursing at each other across the dining room, don't be shocked. When I was there a drunk costumer decided to challenge another customer to a fight, seemingly for no reason. First he took off his shirt and then said, no joke, "You want a piece of this?" It was hilarious.

Johnny's is now on North Highland. The new location is very nice. I ordered a medium Sunshine pizza and my boyfriend had a calzone that he carefully described as giant, cheese-stuffed boomerang. My pie was beautiful - lots of cheese and toppings; a veritable artist's creatiion. The service was great! Pretty good music - a little loud, kitschy. I was enlivened when the cook started playing some reggae. A very pleasant experience; will return to try more delicious, beautifully sculpted pies.

Everything is baked. That's good. There are some decent import microbrews. The bartender Jason was the worst. I think there is something wrong with him. He has the liking to someone who has a "problem" While there I got offered drugs 3 times and its really smoky. If I am starving I will order to go. Don't want to be there in case of a drug bust.

My favorite pizza in Atlanta! The delivery service was fast easy and the restaurant is great too. It would be nice if there was better parking but as other reviewers said, the beer prices are great and the food is delicious! yumm!!

I work near by here, and go here a lot after work, so I've made some friends there. Service is never bad, it seems, $1 beers and $3 shots. The pizza is pretty damn good, in my book, and it's cheap also. It's a nice, dive-y kind of neighborhood place and I love it for that.

    (4)
  • Chris G.

Solid neighborhood pizza joint. Tip - Buy the $10 beer mug and enjoy $1 beers forever, can't beat that. Subs are great, pizza is good to average. Staff can be slow at times, just depends. If you're not in a rush and want a laid back hangout, this is a good spot.

Just stopped here last night on the way home from the airport around 10pm...my fiance has been here before but it was my first time. He's been raving about their wings, which are baked not fried...and now I know why he loves them - they're really some of the best wings I've ever had. Great selection of sauces too...we got the Hot, Chipotle, and Sriracha...they were all awesome but the Hot was my favorite. It had a nice vinegary tang to it which I love. Also ordered a slice of the Soul Food Pizza...mashed potatoes, fried chicken, and collard greens...um...WOW! The slices are huge and loaded with toppings, crust is thin, and honestly 1 slice could have been my entire meal. Beers are cheap too....2 Dos Equis on top of all that food and I felt like I needed to be rolled out the door! This is a real local spot...everyone else that was there seemed to know each other and all the bartenders/servers. Customers were a little rough around the edges and loud/drunk...it was pretty smokey inside too, but the music was good and in all honesty, the atmosphere "works" for what this place is: A local dive bar with cheap alcohol and good pizza and wings!

Still loving Jack's. Visited again on a miserably rainy Sunday with an entirely different agenda: boozy Sunday! We attempted to try as many Bloody Marys as possible while never repeating off the Bloody menu. What a brilliant idea. Everyone should do this. Unless vodka makes you regret your life the next morning. Still think the Bloody with the wing sauce is my favorite. This time it went up against the regular Bloody and the Mary-Nary-Mary. All are good, but the Spicy Mary rules supreme in my book.

The boyfriend and I always come to Jacks when we want to grab a late night snack. It's awesome because (the following list is not in order of awesomeness) 1. Beer is cheap! Shots too! 2. Pizza is delicious...try the Jason or chili cheese dog. 3. They allow dogs on the patio 4. They almost always have something fun to do while hanging out! I like the bingo nights, can't go wrong with house cash! 5. Service is amazing. They keep dog owners in check with annoying barking and they force people to keep an eye on their pets (super important when you'd don't want someone else's dog snagging your pizza crust) And they always keep your beer full considering how busy they are most nights this is worth their weight in gold! Honestly it is a little divey and hipster but it definitely adds to the charm of the whole place.

Even the waitress called it a "dive pizza place" after James asked if he could get his pizza made with wheat dough. (for the record, I was all, no you can't do that silly! It's a dive pizza place; the waitress just vocalized it for me) After that was cleared up, we went on to enjoy our $1 PBR drafts... um hold up... $1!!!!!!!! PBR!!!!!!! DRAFTS!!!!!!!!!! Needless to say, I died and went to heaven way before the food even arrived. I got the chicken parmigiana sandwich, and it was pretty good. James got a pizza with chicken (parmigiana style) and pineapple, and it was very tasty. The ONLY downside to this place, was the fact that people could smoke inside, which, I am going to go with my own knowledge of the fact that it is a diva pizza place, and get over that. They do have a patio, and next time we go, we will sit out there; perhaps the smoking won't even be an issue then! Prices were CHEAP! and the food was good. Cheap beer and pizza anyone? Let's go!

For a neighborhood pizza place, this one is pretty standard, but don't expect superior service and be prepared it is a bit of a dive inside. The pizza is great, and it is a nice perk that you can order most of the specialty pizzas as well as create your own by the slice. I had veggie last time and it was awesome. They have lots of draft and bottled beer choices as well. Steer clear of the calzones though.

  • Cody R.

I LOVE this bar. The pizza is pretty decent-the specialty slices are what really sets the place apart as far as food goes as some of the other reviewers have said. But the real reasons to come here are the drink prices and cool people. It's a dive bar, but probably the best one in town. The staff-Morgan, Sam, Jack, Porter, Sarah, and Caitlin are all really cool and remember you when you come back. At first, I thought it would be douchey like East Atlanta has become, but it is the complete opposite. This is hands down my favorite bar!!!

  • Jeff V.

It's definitely a bit of a dive, but I don't care about that. The two stars are based on the food - I had a sub and an order of wings. The sub was so-so - tasted okay but not much meat and overall pretty small. The wings were worse, however. Tiny wings, $8 for 10, baked to a crisp and not much sauce either. I asked for extra hot and they were medium at best - I wish I'd had a bottle of Frank's Red Hot with me! Maybe the pizza's good, I don't know, but pass on the subs and wings.

  • Julie M.

I fancy myself somewhat of a wing snob and had been told it would be worth overlooking the shabby interior to try the baked wings at Jacks. They were actually pretty good. We tried several different flavors and I liked em all. Every night they have different drink and shot specials so you can get your drink on without depleting all the jingle in your pocket. The pizza is the same as when this place was Johny's so if you like Johny's pizza, have at it.

many of my friends are scattered around fourth ward, grant park, and cabbage town, and johnny's has become our meet up place of choice. it's close to everything (bikeable, even!) and always has something fun going on. it can be a little loud at times, but if that's an issue for you, just head out to the back for comfy couches, or walk a little further to the lovely outdoor patio section. the menu and decor are far superior to any other johnny's in or around atlanta. the pizza's great and my friends all swear by the subs, but i must admit the main attraction is the ridiculously cheap drinks. if you're strapped for cash and not too snooty about what to drink, a pitcher of PBR is only $5 any night, mickey's (the malt liquor with the anagrams on the inside of the caps) run at about $1.50, and well mixed drinks go for $3. and if you're in for a night of heavy drinking, try their signature shot, the eye of the tiger. definitely not for someone seeking a classy, upscale joint (try p'cheens across the street, maybe?) but if you're up for a low-key night out with friends, good pizza, and cheap drinks, johnny's is for you. if you need something a little more entertaining, they often have shows, there's trivia weekly and adult trivia (which is really fun with friends with whom you're comfortable discussing the nasty) on thursday nights and kareoke on wednesdays--a hint for that one: if you want to get in the queue early and often, tip the dj or buy him a bunch of eye of the tigers. ;) [EDIT may 2009: since moving to the UK several months ago, i have been informed that johnny's has changed to jack's and is (possibly?) under new management. since i'm out of the country, i'm not sure how much of this review is the same, and how much has changed, so check the other reviews--but my guess is it's still worth a visit. :)]

I had a mostly great time at Jack's and would have possibly given 4 maybe 5 stars if it weren't for service. our party ordered pizza and wings (ha of course!) and the food was amazing. slices were huge and beyond filling, not to mention DELICIOUS! the wings were baked to perfection, falling off the bone, yummo! but where everything went wrong was our lack-luster waitress. she's the girl in the toboggan with glasses and pigtails, I'm sure the haters know who I'm talking about. we waited 15 minutes for our Margaritas. we watched them sit for at least 5 minutes before she ever delivered them, more interested in flirting with douchey hipsters than tending to her hopelessly waiting tables. she finally brought our drinks and then THE SAME THING HAPPENED when our food hit the window! seriously? your bartender and kitchen are on point, what is your deal?? luckily our food was still warm by the time we got it, and our meal was super tasty. I will definitely come back to Jack's, but I will absolutely refuse to sit in her section ever again.

I have met plenty of pizza snobs, and I am not one of them. I happen to like pizza from the big chain places. If that's what I want, that's what I'll order. If I order pizza from a neighborhood joint, I expect a homemade-ish tasting pizza, and that is not what I got on either of the 2 occasions I ordered from Johnny's. Not their fault. I'm just sayin. This stuff is far from "homemade" in any way shape or form.

I heard about this place from a group of friends who had stumbled upon it by accident on a random Tuesday. We decided to go there on Friday since we had talked about finding a new weekend spot where we could pregame and make plans for the rest of our night. When I first walked in I was taken aback with the thought that this place was a strictly punk rock establishment due to the music and the dress of some of the waiters. After getting comfortable and learning that they play more than rock music (quite a good amount of hip-hop/R&B) though I concluded this place had potential. Then I saw the menu and was skeptical that some of the food, which I was told was great, could be so cheap. However, after having the strawberry cheesecake (yes cheesecake) and the barbecue chicken pizza I wasn't sure I could ever got back to our old drinking spot. Add that with great waiting staff (ask for Sam he's really good) and $4 pitcher (perfect for college kids in a recession) the only thing missing from making it a great night is you and some friends. I've been there the past 3 weeks in a row and have enjoyed every time.

This entire night actually started at MOTHER on Edgewood when a friend of mine was like "we should get pizza from Jack's" to which I responded "is it good? I've never been" only to be told (by same friend, mind you) no it's fucking horrible then two minutes later actually that was just a joke, let's go. So we're careening over to Highland Avenue. I'm 2 shots and a rum and coke into my night and I can tell this is only going to get better. We park and walk down the street to Jack's swerve through the seediness and pick a table outside. Table one is dirty so we move to table two. Our waiter comes to the table (I forgot his name, guys. I'm sorry) we place an order of garlic bread, a pitcher of High Life and the Big Mama pizza. Y'all weren't lying when you said it was huge. Split it between four ppl and still had leftovers. After drinking half the pitcher of High Life I was gone. The pizza was delish though! We paid the check and headed out but not before going to the restroom which was actually quite well-kempt given the general grime of the place. I'll definitely be back...sober next time.

This place is ok. Only went cuz of scoutmob. I get the fact they use fresh ingredients and nothing is fried but what'd good is that if the food doesn't taste good? The food is really lacking a quintessential component that brings it all together. If you gave me all the ingredients they use and their oven my pizza would be the same. That's not why I eat out. Beer prices are only reason to go.

  • Jessica G.

Whenever we visit a place as out of towners my BF and I like to find the local's favorite places to eat. Jack's came up high on the list for best pizza. To be fair the reviews did state it was a bar and what to expect as far as atmosphere but it still was kind of a surprise. There was no seating and then we realized it winds a the way in the back and there is additional seating there as well as on the patio. We ended up lucking out and snagging a table as someone was leaving. We didn't luck out in that the table wasn't cleaned until a good 15 minutes after we sat down. We also did not luck out in that we were surrounded by smokers. I guess that's still a thing allowed in Atlanta? My bad for not knowing it ahead of time but as someone who's allergic, it was not fun. Dogs are allowed on the patio as well and that's great unless the dog is braking non-stop so maybe next time you should leave that dog home guy cause it was obviously trying to communicate something you couldn't understand. So the atmosphere is definitely hipster. Coming from Chicago I thought I had seen my share of hard core hipsters but Atlanta had us beat. So if that's your scene, you'll love the vibe. Now the food. We always get garlic bread or some kind of cheesy garlic type thing and it was delicious. We ordered a large sausage pizza, my BF is not too adventurous. It was good. He loved it. Loved the crust, over the sausage crumble, loved the sauce. I liked it. I'm a snobby Italian when it comes to sauce and I wanted flavor to match the scene we were immersed in but I found it just "eh". Service. Well it was not great. But I don't know if that was the servers fault. There was one of them and a ton of tables. He tried. That being said he seemed high and passes our table a ton of times without asking if we needed refills on our beer or anything else. Parking is also difficult to find so plan for that. All over it was fine. I don't think I'd ever go back. Not worth all the hassle for the food. But if we wanted takeout I think it would be worth it.

I love this place I've been twice now. I've had the Jason pizza and the soul food pizza and both were really good the beer choices are great! I'm not a drinker but the waiter had me try a cider beer that is awesome go to jacks!

The food looked good at the tables around us. Would've been great to try it if someone ever came to our table to take our food and drink orders. Sat there for over 30 mins and no one helped us. Maybe the vibe and service is better during the day. After 12am it seems to just be a hangout and bar. Not a restaurant.

I must say, this place definitely lived up to all the hype. The pizza is just as amazing (if not more) than I imagined, and the restaurant is just as hipster. Service is also very spotty, but they warn you ahead of time. They tell you on the first page of their menu to expect a 20 minute wait for your food, but it'll be well worth your wait. I came here with a party of eight on a Saturday night, so it was pretty crowded. You have to hunt for your own table, and snatch it up right when a table leaves. That's how it works here. DRINKS: Super cheap beer. Pitchers for $4. Just do it. FOOD: Amazing. I shared a large Jason pizza and 5 piece wings with my friend. The Jason pizza has mac and cheese and bacon on the pizza. How could you go wrong? Every bite is so heavenly (and filled with a little bit of guilt). We got the sriracha wings, which were pretty spicy, even coming from someone who can take spicy foods. Portions are all massive. Take your time and pace yourself because you don't want to scarf it all down and be full too early on. I learned this from firsthand experience. For the sake of my health, this is one place that I won't be coming to very often, but this is hands down one of my new favorite pizza joints in town! Fun fact: they have candied sriracha bacon in a packet for $2.99. It's unique and I would definitely try it. I'm biased though because if you couldn't tell already, I love sriracha!

Why did I wait so long to walk through those doors? That is the question I asked myself the second I took my first bite out of the Chili Dog Pizza.... This pizza is all that is right in the world and that includes bacon! The crust is thin and crispy. The toppings all work so well together. What more does a girl need.

Lets get something straight. This place rocks it! The pizza is the best in the ATL area thus far. (Try the roxanne.. spinach, anchovies, oilvs, feta,....WHAAAT) The patio is large, in the shade, dog friendly, and laid back. The waitresses are all cute (you know that helps), and the food is made to order. Did you hear that? MADE TO ORDER. I read some of the bad reveiws from other yelpers because of the wait time. People calm down. Quality beats expedition every time. Great place! UPDATE: Just had the wings. Unbelievable. This is a new favorite!!!

The 5 stars is for the whole Jack's experience. The food itself I would give a 4. The cheap booze gets them to 5 stars. Jack's is not your typical pizza joint and definitely isn't catering to the family crowd. It's kind of got a seedy/dive bar vibe which is a-ok in my book. The service can be hit or miss but that kind of goes with the whole vibe. Service at the bar is always good though. As for food, they've got awesome baked wings in a million different flavor combinations. I usually go with hot lemon pepper. Pizza is really good too, big slices. The bbq chicken pizza is great. Come for lunch, have a bunch of eye of tiger shots (a house made concoction, pretty sure it's grain alcohol and orange Gatorade) stay for dinner.

  • Jessica L.

They warn you about the wait, and it really is quite long, especially when the place is full and the kitchen is slammed. It's definitely still worth a visit for the eclectic menu, funny/weird art, and just for the unique vibe. The menu is definitely a maze to navigate through (and I never though I would be such a proponent of Times New Roman as when I was trying to decipher this thing). There are so many items that I would want to order just to see it but not to eat; some examples include the pizza dog and the pizza burger. I shared some garlic bread with my table. It was tasty, but more like cheesy bread than garlic bread. I also shared some cheese smothered tots with several people. It was so good, but definitely so bad for you. They don't use conventional tots, but thinner coin-like tots that definitely make a difference in maintaining the crispiness of the tots under the toppings. I also ordered a slice of the Bella. I'm not as much of a fan of thin-crust pizza but I still enjoyed my slice and ended up taking home over half of it (they're huge!). I need to try the wings next time. Go ahead and take a detour off the Beltline to visit Jack's!

Went to Jack's one random Sunday afternoon with a friend and I was pleasantly surprised for a few reasons, some good and some bad. You truly cannot judge a book by its cover. This place doesn't look like much on the outside or the inside for that matter, but the food was great. I ordered a medium calzone and the candied BBQ bacon. The medium calzone came out and I could've easily shared it with someone, it was huge, cheesy, and meaty. The BBQ bacon was a delicious treat but you literally get one piece for $3. I'd love to go back to try the candied sriracha bacon because they were out that day. My girlfriend ordered a slice and some wings and she enjoyed her a lot as well. This is a dog friendly establishment and that's cool, I don't have any beef with dogs, I love them actually. However, we sat by the door and people were in and out with their animals and it made me uncomfortable. Having animals around while I eat kinda makes my stomach turn. The bathrooms are also a little gross (there wasn't any hand soap in one bathroom) but what can you do?

Food poisoning alert. I ate wings from Jack's on 5/22, 5 days later I am still sick after a massive bout of food poisoning. The only other meal that I ate that day was cereal, so my doctor and I deduced that it was food poisoning from the meal at Jack's as all the symptoms fit. The onset of the illness hit about 6 hours after consuming the wings and I still have not completely recovered after 5 days, which means I'll need to go back to the doctor again. They may respond to the review and tout their upstanding food handling practices, but whatever practices those may be, they failed that night. I suggest that you stay away because a 10 dollar box of wings could cost you much more. I use to eat here quite a bit but never again. I hope it doesn't happen to anyone else because this is a truly wretched feeling.

Specialty pizzas are great. Especially the soul food pizza. But it's a smokey bar. Sit outside unless you don't want to be able to taste your food. Even then, there are hipsters chain smoking on the patio. Strawberry wings = gross. It's a great "go there drunk" place.

Good news or bad news; which one do you want first? I will pick for you. The Good News: This is a total hipster bar. The pizza options are amazingly different. Soul Food? Mac N Cheese with Bacon? What?? No, I did not try it lol. My friend stuck with his ordinary pepperoni and cheese and I had the BBQ Chicken with extra sauce. Dang it was good! The slices are LARGE (see pics). 2 slices are like half a medium pizza. That BBQ sauce with red onion (fav) and chicken was so tasty! The location is great on N. Highland. Parking is on the street and what seems to be hit or miss is the adjacent parking lot up the hill. Somebody got their back window busted out while we were there. $3 Bacardi Drink Specials. I think it is only on Wednesday. This was an experiment of trying some different flavors. I ordered Chipotle Wings for the table. They were spicy but not that good, just okay. The Hot/Lemon Pepper (you can mix the flavors) was pretty tasty. I tried a variety of drink mixes since they were $3. I think I had about 4 and I was just getting started. The Bad News: You can smoke in here. I hate that. It looks like the kind of place where all types of things are smoked, inhaled, snorted....but no one sparked up until after an hour or so of being there. They were a little distance away so it was not that bad as the service. When our waitress first approached us she said she was tired and looked every bit of it. I made her smile but it was short lived and so was her presence. She disappeared for 20 minutes at a time. the bills were wrong, (shrugs shoulders) she was awful. I get it, sometimes I am a little demanding when it comes to service, but I am an 18% and higher tipper. It hurt me to leave her 11% but she was that bad. A 3rd friend joined us and it was one of his first comments, "Where is our server?" We had to flag down other servers to go and find her or just place a drink order with them. Other than that, I like the spot. It is a good eclectic vibe with good pizza, wings and inexpensive drinks. Tons of graffiti in the bathroom and an outdoor patio in the back.

Jack's is one of new local favorites since moving to the area. We've been several times now (mostly take-out) for their wings and sometimes a slice of pizza. I love that the wings are baked and that you can mix sauces. I devour these suckers. The buffalo chicken pizza is the only one I've tried so far and it is delicious. Calorie bomb but delicious. I secretly eye the Soul Food pizza but I don't know if I can bring myself to try it. I waffled between a 3 and 4 with them only because you can wait a damn fortnight for take-out service sometimes (1.5 hrs at the most). Or the kitchen will close because they are so busy. Or you will get "Ian's" order. Who, by the way, has the same taste in wings as me. But, the service is friendly and it's close by. Not complaining much. It is definitely divey but it's open late. We need more of that.

Pretty good all around. We had some honey BBQ wings and the veggie pizza. The wings are baked and solid. The pizza is loaded with toppings and one of the better pies in ATL. They did screw up my order, but the server gave us a discount so it's all good. I will def be back here again. And the side of oil that came with the pizza was amazing - I be dipping all dayyyyy.

VERY LONG wait. The waiter brought out the food and messed up my friend's order. The manager said he's charged him half for the wrong food, or he could wait 15-20 mins for his actual order. Oh...and he would charge him half. Sorry but it should be free. We waited an hour for the food to come, and they only have 1 oven for the whole place. I wouldn't really come here again, or I would come when it's not busy.

Jacks' Pizza & Wings - My idea of their story: Guy opens bar for the more punk/grunge clientele. Guy hires dude who loves pizza. Guy who loves pizza finds out there has been an oven in the back room the entire time. Jacks' gets acclaim for being a cool spot for cold beer and cheap liquor shots in Inman. Guy who loves pizza gets hungry and decides to make pizza for lunch in found oven. Guy who loves pizza's pizza accidentally gets taken to a table of drunk dudes. Drunk dudes love the pizza so much they pay for it. Pizza menu is born and Jack's becomes "Jack's Pizza." Guy who loves pizza also loves wings. Guy who loves pizza makes wings and sells them without Jack's knowledge. Jack loves the idea and promotes Guy who loves pizza to "Guy who cooks." Jack's becomes "Jack's Pizza & Wings." I love this place. The Big C pizza minus Canadian bacon is wonderful and a hearty pizza for any vegetarian. The pizza rolls are also fantastic. Will I go back? Oh, hell yes. Long live Jack's.

I've been to this place a few times an overall, I'm a fan! The pizza is really good here. I've tried the southern style pizza. I forgot the exact name but it has mashed potatoes, collard greens, chicken, gravy and other southern style treats on it. It's really good and extremely filling. I also tried a pizza that is similar to meat lovers and it's also really good. The environment is kinda grungy. When you step in there, it almost feels like you're in Little 5 points. On Friday nights they have drunk bingo which is usually fun. They give away prizes like gift cards and coupons for the store. Every time I've been there, it's been tough to find a seat. It's a seat yourself establishment you have to walk around and try to find a seat or hover around a table that you think is going to be wrapping up soon so you can swoop in and get the table when they leave. It's also usually pretty smokey in there which I'm not a big fan of but if you're a smoker, you'll probably love it. I believe there is a parking lot on the side but in my experience, its usually full and I park on the street. Over all, the food is good and they have cool drink specials so I enjoy this place and will probably continue to come here whenever I want some pizza outside of the norm.

Food: GREAT wings. The meat literally falls off the bones and melts in your mouth. Be warned tho, because we got medium and they were SPICY... Like suck down your glass of water and chew on some celery ASAP. However, excellent wings... I'm gonna go ahead and say they are the best wings I've found in Atlanta thus far! Their bleu cheese was nothing to write home about - just generic packaged stuff. Pizza rolls = a slice of greasy, pizza, doughey heaven. And their marinara sauce makes you wanna slap somebody. I HIGHLY recommend pizza rolls. Finally, we had a slice of hangover pizza (can you tell by all the greasy goodness I ordered that I was nursing a hangover - no pun intended). The pizza, eh, it was mediocre - I've had better. It was thin and greasy and def helps cure a hangover, but its not where I would choose to get a great piece of pie. Service: Ehhhh, schmedium. We went early on a Friday evening, it wasn't that packed and our server wasn't overly attentive. At. All. I chalked it up to just being a dingy bar so you wouldn't expect great service, but let's be real, there's never an excuse to not have great service. The food is indeed cooked to order, so be prepared to wait, however the front of the menu warns you of this and I'd prefer to wait for great food any day of the week. Atmosphere: Dive. Bar. Enough said. And it's a GREAT people watching spot. I did like that there were people of all types in there boozing and chowing down. AWESOME dark, greasy cure-your-hangover spot!

During the school year, my friends and I would come to Jacks after work because the drinks are cheap and the pizza is good. However, last night I decided to go with a friend and had an awful time. The customer service was horrible. The waiters and bartenders were rude and inattentive. I had to ask the waiter twice to clean the table and he said he would get to it later. The bartender got smart with my friend and acted like he didn't want to take any orders. I'm accustomed to this place, so the atmosphere doesn't bother me. I don't care how reasonable the prices are, but customer service trumps it all.

Came in for a slice of the soul food pizza and it was amazing. A little heavy so don't expect to eat much more after it (although I'm a fairly small woman). Love the atmosphere and the beer is super cheap. I will continue to come back here! The only downside is the wait and the fact that we were seated next to some unsavoury characters. It would be a bit better if you had more options of seating arrangements but it's alright

It's my spot for amazing wings. The sauces and cooking process really deliver a truly original taste and texture that's absolutely unforgettable. The moment I tried their 'chipotle & stupid hot' sauce combination, I didn't know whether to cry for joy or cry from the spice. Their sauces are hot and make the baked wing combo a relationship in heaven. It's like they're spanking my tongue and... I like it. The strawberry option seems a bit strange, but totally works with their spicier sauces. May I suggest sriracha? Cook time usually averages 20-30 minutes though, so be prepared to wait! Sometimes it can be an hour during their weekend rushes. I tend to wait for the slower hours because I like to not accept my social security checks at Jack's. Thursdays at 3 work best. Their pizzas have a great take on what toppings are defined as. It's either a hit or miss with that portion of the menu. I've tried just about everything and it seems like the 'soul food' pizza takes the crown when it comes to this Italian American delight. It sounds odd, but it definitely works and may leave you curious about their other plates. Their burgers are unique, I'll give them that, but doesn't compete with anything else on the menu, to be honest. I'll be blunt, they're the garnish to the other options. They're not bad, but they're definitely not memorable though they're perfect if you want to fill up. Their portions are pretty big. Drinks? Great specials and even better specialties. Bartenders here are the type that do not mess with nonsense... because there's no sense in nonsense, right? They're very friendly and quick! Totally worth the buy. Parking is horrendous during rush, almost as bad as the wait time for food. Despite some of the flaws this small places carries, I have much respect and love for it. Probably because of the wings. Yes, most definitely because of the wings. It's not the prettiest place, but its got heart. Come here for a casual outing and stay for some the great drinks. Their new business hours are also a welcoming change!

The decor: Grungy and dark. Great patio for late nights. The food: AMAZING! The buffalo chicken pizza was on point and the wings were even better. I love the spicy honey bbq wings. I could eat them every day. The service: Not the chatty type, but they get you your food quick and right.

came here for the first time last month and absolutely loved it! It's a gem in the highland lake neighborhood, a nice underground, hipster vibe in the up-and-coming neighborhood. The interior of the restaurant may look a little dark, Emo and greasy, but the food is definitely top notch on the strip. Their wings are the best! It takes a while for them to make them so make sure you order them first. I personally love the honey BBQ flavor the most. Also don't forget their bacon! Candied sriracha is the best! You can take them to go too! If you get room left in your stomach, try their soul food pizza made with fried chicken, mashed potatoes, collard greens and gravy. It's going to be a fun and unexpected surprise to your palette:)

Best pizza place in Atlanta BY FAR. They have everything from a regular sausage pizza slice to a chili cheese pizza slice to a soulfood pizza slice that has fried chicken and collared greens on it (It was great too). I went on a Saturday and it was really crowded. And with it being so cheap, you may have to wait a while to get a seat. Luckily after about 20 minutes a booth came available. Cheap drinks $4 dollar Jack n Cokes. Coming from Chicago where the norm is $6+, that was refreshing. Bartender was cool as hell. They messed up my order and she comped me a free Jack while I waited on it. Its like a meta/ hipster spot so you are going to meet a wide range of people but everyone there seemed real cool. Its definitely the spot to go for a cheap night out with your friends. Everytime I'm in the "A", I'm hitting Jacks.

A dive bar of the tastiest kind. DO NOT PASS on the candied sriracha bacon on anything or by itself. Be patient and enjoy yourself here. Love Porter, Lexi and Rob. Pizza is delicious, with amazing concoctions including the Soul Food Pizza. Wings are good too. Fun times at a dive bar.

Solid dive pizza place. I actaully liked the pizza stick apps better than the actual pizza, but both were super. I used to live in Maine and this reminds me of the laid back type of places that I know and love up there.

This is where all of my colleagues head for happy hour. Pitchers of beer are cheap and so is the pizza. The pizza is okay--good sized slice, fresh toppings, just not very flavorful. On occasion, they do have candied bacon which is delicious by itself or you can add it to your pizza. This is a super hipster bar. Expect big beards, tattoos, and piercings. You'll also see folks carrying around 40oz of Miller High Life.

Eeeeeeek just had a horrible experience here. I can't believe how many good reviews they have, maybe they are having an off night? Ordered $45 worth of food for delivery..Two pieces of pizza, wings, and the Italian rolls. Wings were pretty good, pizza was pretty bland but the Italian pizza rolls were absolutely inedible they were so burnt. I don't understand how they left the kitchen looking like that. And on top of the food being gross we called to talk to them and they refused to do anything for us unless we brought the food in, horrible customer service.

If you are looking for that designer pizza that cost 40 bucks and barely fills you and your date, this isn't your place. If you want to hang out with your best group of pals, get silly, have drinks, and eat good pie, this IS the place. Drink specials make it damn near free to throw a couple back. Try the Italian pizza rolls. Do it. Order a round (or 3) of the house drink, Eye of the Tiger. Claim your spot as soon as it looks like the people who are there now are maybe thinking about leaving, otherwise someone else will.

2 hours to get a calzone :(. We came in with a group of people and we basically sat there forever. The place was packed. But 2 hours is garbage. The waitress was drinking and starting to forget stuff...and it was packed. At some point she walked up on our group and asked how we were doing and she was doing that hide a beer next to your waist thing. She came back and tried to hand us our check without actually giving us the FOOD. Then when we said we didn't get out food she's slurred, "I THOUGHT I told you already the kitchen is backed up." I'm tired of resturants that have waiters and waitresses that are unapologetic that they forgot about you and then blame the kitchen. That's like someone blaming the traffic. They might have just had a bad night or something but I'll never know. There are TOO MANY pizza places around where the waiters aren't to drunk at high volume times to actually do business! Calzone was avg.

My second favorite spot in atlanta for wings, only surpassed by fox bros. We usually order and pick up and have never actually eaten at the place. But since the food is quite tasty, I still felt it'd be warranted to leave a review. As mentioned the wings are great, super meaty and come in a variety of delicious flavors. The only complaint I have is that occasionally the wait is quite long. It wouldn't be that big of a deal if it's expected, but we've been told numerous times now that the food would be ready for pick up in 20 minutes and then ended up waiting an additional 20 minutes once we got there. That being said, the wings and pizza are way too good to make the wait a reason to stop ordering from jack's. Although not ideal, the wait is usually quickly forgotten once we start eating.

Buffalo chicken pizza is the best! Wiener James is an amazing server and extremely polished for a dive bar pizzeria server.

Good pizza. It's a cool location and the patio is really nice but there are lots of people smoking cigarettes. The first time we went we had the soul food pizza, the Jason (pizza with mac and cheese on it, awesome) and the white pizza and all slices were delicious. My bf said the wings were pretty good as well. The next time I had calzone with jalapenos and it was amazing, the dough was very tasty. Drinks are cheap, service is slow but we went to hang out, have some drinks, and eat some good pizza so the wait wasn't and issue for us.

HANDS DOWN THE WORST SERVICE I'VE EVER RECEIVED IN ALL LIFE. Ever. Waiting for drinks on a busy night, and I totally understand having to wait, but the bartender (who was the manager) had a serious attitude. While waiting on a drink, he rolled his eyes at us and was uber rude, so when I said that he was a jerk to my friend, his little girl friend turned around and yelled at us telling us to leave. Finally the beer came, and he yells at us "FUCK OFF" and "GET THE FUCK OUT" - insanely overdramatic. We went to sit down only to have the waiter say "they told me not to serve you" - the manager literally would not sell us food. Grow up and run a business.

Jack's pizza was a welcome reprieve from the rest of Atlanta's pizza scene. Unlike almost everywhere else we've tried in the area, this pizza was thick, doughy, cheesy, saucy, and had plenty of toppings. We got the veggie pizza and it was great. The garlic dipping sauce is great, too. Maybe don't bring your little kids, though. Unless you don't mind them learning a few new colorful words from the graffiti on the interior walls.

Ok so I went back for lunch one day with a friend it wasn't busy but it's just the nature of this place that you will be there for at least an hour. I obviously loved the pizza and the server was nice. I did give this place a bad rating and the management contacted me and offered to give me a free meal, I did not use it cause I'm not that kind of person. The food is great I just wish it was a little faster, but it's not that kind of place. The service is not capable for improving but business seems to be good.

Fun atmosphere, great salads, wings and pizza. Enjoy the loud music and arcade games. Need it to be a little more chill of an atmosphere just eat out on the patio. I think I'll bring my 2 boys to this place often, to build great memories of rock music, video games and pizza

We are laid back peeps... Valentines Day at Jacks was awesome! Ordered 4 slices between the 2 of us... Omg! The slices are HUGE! We tried the soul food, Mac n cheese, garlic and olive oil and the Bella... All of them were great! Brianna our server was on point with her service and chipper demeanor. Yay for excellent service the drinks were inexpensive and well made. The Moscow mule was in my top 3 in Atlanta. Also, try the Sriracha candied bacon... It's crack in a box! Thanks Jack's! We'll be back soon.

Perfect Dive Bar that's great to start an evening off. The patio is perfect for conversation and the drinks are extremely cheap and strong. Its a mixed crowd so if that's your thing please check out this spot. It has a real hipster vibe, so put your Chucks and PO UP.

I fully intended to come here and give them a 1 when I was driving back home with my order of to go pizza slices last night, but I got home and got dammit this pizza is good.... so I'm giving them a 3.5, in which I will round down, hopefully temporarily, to a 3. THE BACKGROUND: After seeing a movie at Midtown Arts Cinema were gonna just skip right over to Woody's and indulge in some classic late night fare of hot dogs, milkshakes, and/or cheesestakes, but my friend wanted pizza so we headed to Jack's instead. Good move. LOCATION/PARKING: It's off Highland in with all the other stores and restaurants, but it's on the P'Cheen side, not the Parish side. The Parking lot is tight, probably only enough room for about 12 cars, but there's plenty of on street parking. ATMOSPHERE/DECOR: It's pretty grungy in there, probably like hipster grunge, hmm, more like frat hipster grunge... "mixed frat hipster grunge" is my final answer. Basically it seems like it should be in the heart of Little Five Points instead of the Highlands, but I guess that just adds to the beauty of this establishment, and well I guess this is technically moreso OFW (Old Fourth Ward). This place it chill, laid back, and sorta chaotic all at the same damn time, I guess a "dive bar" is what you call it. Lots of drunk folks, people having funs, groups, singles, and couples. There's a back patio, but we didn't go back there. I could certainly smell the cigarette smoke though. And it's clear dog friendly since there was one guy who was walking his pit bull mix back and forth through the restaurant, I wouldn't bring my pampered pooch here though I wouldn't want her get dirty. FOOD: We ordered cheese pizza, veggie pizza, pesto pizza, and bbq chicken pizza (no pineapples, spinach instead), but instead of bbq chicken we ended up with the hawaiian pizza (no pineapples, spinach instead) (she got my order wrong). All of it was great, although the plain cheese pizza was seriously lacking in comparison to the others. The slices are a big, this pizza is 100% foldable. The crust is thin, but not paper thin. I'm a fan of papa johns type crust thickness yanno that perfectly in the middle size crust. Although it was thin it was still good and had enough thickness to appease my crust preference palette. They have many flavors-- besides the classic Supreme, Veggie, etc they have unique flavors like soul food, chill hot dog, big mama, and the hangover. Not to mention they offer a whole hosts of food types, like wings, pizza rolls, and even desserts... oh and of course alcohol, this place is just as much a bar as it is a pizza joint. SERVICE: The girl who took our order was ok at best, but technically she was subpar considering she got one of the pizzas wrong. We ordered the bbq chicken she got the hawaiian, my friend probably pointed to the order, but she should have repeated the order to ensure it was right. There's a ton of guy servers and cooks and they all actually seem really cool, and some are actually kinda cute. They definitely all look like one crew-- tatted up, fitted pants, vintage t-shirts... they look very cool and definitely fit the look of this place. The wait was quite long. I'm pretty positive we would have gotten our food quicker if we would have sat down. After waiting about 15 minutes, she said it would be about 15 minutes, but that turned into 30+ minutes easy. We probably waited an hour total for 4 slices of pizza on a Saturday night. SUMMARY: Despite my order being mixed up, I have to still give them a decent rating, b/c the pizza they mixed it up with was really good. The wait was longer than told, the place is grungy and I walked out with my hair smelling like smoke, but even with all that the pizza was truly good. Definitely some of my favorite in the city. Let me be honest and say it's actually the best in the city imho (antico is just hype to me). I'll be back, but hopefully next time I'll get the correct order and have a shorter wait...

So I don't just like Jack's...I LIKE like Jack's. I can realistically see my self coming here once a week for the next decade. I'm really not cool enough to be a regular on Jack's deluxe back patio, but (fingers crossed) maybe I'll start morphing into one of the trolly hipsters who make up the large majority of Jack's clientele. They have $1 beers (I kid you not) ALL THE TIME. It's not so easy to find a $1 beer these days. 40s Friday is basically the best deal in America. The 40s of Highlife are $1 if you order the right thing. You can get a 40 + 10 wings for $9.44, a 40 + garlic bread for $4.44, a 40 + a slice of cheese for $4.44 , or a 40 + a large cheese pizza for $12.44. Duct tape is not provided for those interested in partaking in a public display of Freddy forty hands. The deals simply blow my mind. Jack's has lots of fun things other nights of the week. On Friday, in addition to the special on 40s, they have BINGO inside. They also do trivia a few nights a week with special themes like cartoon trivia for example. I hear their bloody Sunday $3 bloody Mary special is a good one to check out. The atmosphere is so casual and comfortable I can't even handle how great it is. There is fairly limited seating inside so it could be packed on a rainy or cold day. Otherwise, the back patio is the place to be. The group I went with all took advantage of the 40 + 10 wings deal. The wings were pretty much the best wings I've ever had. I didn't even care about the ranch dipping sauce (I know, it sounds crazy). They have some interesting wing flavors like strawberry sriracha and bourbon BBQ in addition to normal flavors. We also ordered a basket of tots to share around the table. The coin size tots were a great side that I would recommend. The waiters at Jack's are hustling. On the back patio, two waiters were covering probably 12 tables each and I know they had tables inside as well. I like patio sitting especially on a Friday night, but if I had been in a hurry it would have been a bit of a problem. We were unfortunately forced to leave when a huge rain storm came up making patio sitting not so enjoyable, but I can't wait to get back over to this A +++ establishment.

First rime I've been somewhere and have completely regretted it. All seven of my friend's were disappointed tonight. After reviewing pictures and reviews we knew we were in for a real treat. Horrible wait for our food we waited over an hour (40 mins for a salad and 15 for a diet coke). The soul food pizza didn't have any gravy on it. Food looked amazing but the overall experience was horrible. Bingo could have been more engaging for the.crowd (the main reason for going). Since it's a bar atmosphere it was often too loud and noisy to hear. Maybe they should change their delivery around a little bit. Perhaps in the future the person could walk around so people in the back can hear clearly.

An eclectic mix of people, music, and some of the best wings and pizza in the Atlanta city limits. This is a place where you don't have to worry about anyone judging you about you anything and can have great food while doing it.

Shortly after arriving to Atlanta, I discovered Jacks Pizza & Wings. Its just...wonderful. As stated in the name so subtly, this restaurant/bar specializes in pizza and wings. Everything is made to order, and I have recently come to know that they also make all of their wing sauces from scratch. They serve innovative pizza dishes such as their Soul Food pie, which consists of fried chicken, collard greens and gravy. My personal favorite is the Big Mama which is their own take on the meaty pizza. One thing that i love about Jacks the most is that they DO NOT skimp on portions. The slices are large, and the topping are plentiful. Slices average around $4.50 and specialty pies are around 18 bucks. Their wings are great and cheap as well. Their menu is vast and I have yet to try everything, but I am sure from what I have had thus far and from the constant large crowds, that everything is amazing. They also offer things such as trivia night, and super cheap shots.

Good pizza and the food here is a great value, get a few huge slices of pizza for under $6.

The wings tonight were fucking shit. The tendons were still attached, they were undercooked, and tasted like shit. I don't understand how, in the name of Colonel Sanders anyone can claim these are the best wings in ATL. I've eaten allot of wings in ATL and these don't even come close to good. Pros- Atmosphere good. Beer good. Staff cool. Cons- Waiting time diabolical. Menu hasn't changed in a million years. Wings suck.

My fiancé and I had a wonderful experience here. We had a problem with our food (very minor mistake) and our meal was comped. That was beyond necessary and extremely appreciated. The sesame wings and macaroni and cheese pizza were stunning. I loved the atmosphere and the music and the waitstaff is super sweet. I will definitely be recommending this gem in the Old Fourth Ward.

Jack's is a dive bar at its best. Drunk Bingo on Friday nights and drinking into the wee hours makes for a great night out. Add in killer pizza (a slice of Sunshine makes me happy), delicious wings (not a fan of the Strawberry though, even when made super spicy), and amazing pizza rolls (Italian or build your own). A great beer selection (yes, they have my beloved Strongbow), and a great selection of shots (I highly recommend the Fireball) help to round out the menu. And all of this for great prices. The location is great - within walking distance of other hangouts if you want to change it up, and plenty of street parking (and a small lot that fills up quick). Sarah is a killer server and will kick back shots with you - my kind of wait staff! So if you are looking for a great hang out place to chill with your friends for a few hours (and don't mind the smoking after 10pm), this is a great place to do it.

I ordered a large pizza with sliced tomatoes, spinach, and green peppers and it was awesome! I ordered a pepperoni pizza too and it was just a normal pizza. I did a order for pick up and it was ready on time. Parking can be difficult but if you are picking up there is a lot where you could stop to run in. It is to the right of the restaurant up a small incline.

I'm embarrassed that I've never written a review for Jack's, as it's one of my top 5 favorite restaurants in Atlanta. All of the food here is a good, but is also eclectic. Don't come here unless you're willing to break out of your comfort zone. I'm talking Soul Food Chicken Pizza and Strawberry or Cinnamon Wings. And let's not forget hilariously fun Adult Trivia Nights and 40 Oz. Fridays. There are always some sort of specials going on, and this is the cheapest place to drink in Atlanta. Read: $4 pitchers of High Life every day. It's the perfect neighborhood bar hangout, and Jack runs this place well. You just can't go wrong. And now my love letter is done. :-)

First off all they have miller pitchers for $4!!! $4?!! Like what the heck?! Jacks is my new go to spot when i just want to chill and drink sans rowdy and crowded bars. Their drink prices are amazing for the area. Their wings are delicious and they are baked making them a healthier alternative to like taco mac. I love their big mama pizza its like meat lovers on crack. The only qualm i have is that the service is wayyyyy slow. I know that their food takes time to prepare but i like for my server to keep the drinks coming and typically i have to track my server down at least once

Jack's wings are the best I've had known many years. It has gotten hard to distinguish wings from different establishments, but not at Jack's. Maybe it's the fact that they bake them, where most places fry them. I drive down from Dacula just to eat here, and it, is worth the drive. I also advise hi vine the tat or tots a whirl; one word, delicious. I highly recommend, if your ever in the area, stop in, you won't regret it.....

This one restaurant changed my opinion of Atlanta. There's fast food, Southern, and then there's Jack's Pizza & Wings. Sure...there are myriad other cuisine choices, but this has to be one of the funnest and strangest places I've enjoyed in the few days I've been in Atlanta. It's a biker bar with pizza...a pizza joint with bikers and a bar. It wasn't just a big-ass salad and a slice of the "Supreme" pizza, it was an experience. It's grimy, dark and weird. It's earthy, eccentric and real. Whatever you think of the restaurant's interior and your fellow diners, you're sure to eat some flavorful pizza and get your drink on without being judged. It's an unpretentious place that is a neighborhood dining magnet and one hell of a game changer for tasty pizza, salads and appetizers.

Nobody in the A does pizza and beer better. The badassness of Jacks is off the charts from the art to the music to the food specials. Every visitor I have to Atlanta has to go to Jacks. This place kicks ass forreal.

Note -- this place is a Dive with a capital D. The employees are of the tattooed variety, the walls are covered in graffiti and stickers, and the smoke comes out in force at 9pm. They have trivia on Mondays, and the barbecue chicken pizza slice was hearty and satisfying. Very limited menu by way of desserts (choice of homemade but packaged oatmeal creme pies or candied bacon), but plenty of hoagies, pizza slices, and beers to keep things interesting.

This place is a massive shit hole. Disgusting seats, bathrooms, food, and staff. The food is hardly good enough to drink with. The whole place is filthy and riddled with disease and bacteria. I mean, I get it: you want a dive esque pizza bar.... But the place really is gross. Never-mind that parking is a mistress. Seriously you want good pizza and a beer, do yourself a favor and go to Fritti or Fellini's... Cause that stuff never disappoints.

Ugh, I want to give you zero stars because I'm mad at you for getting popular and super crowded over the past few years, but I can't because I LOVE YOU SO DAMN MUCH. Dollar pints. $4 pitchers. Trivia nights. Jello wrestling in the summer. One of the funnest patios ever. Enormous slices of pizza that come with weird-ass toppings that were just made for late night states of consciousness. Seriously, what's not to love? The food is tasty and cheap, most of the servers are cool and friendly, and the music is almost always metal. Dive bar trifecta. My only complaint is that it's so packed all the time now that it's hard to get a table and even harder to get prompt service. I guess you can't keep such greatness secret for long. It's definitely worth the wait if you've got time to hang out though.

For those who don't want to hear the story: 3 stars for the food and the friendly manager. Took 2 stars away for our waitress and her bad service. Here's the story: I used to frequently visit Jacks. I love the food and the service is usually good as well. This last time I went with some friends and our waitress was very rude. A friend asked about what drinks were good and she stated "I don't know what you like" in a very rude tone of voice. We Let that pass... Food was good (as always)... She gave our checks in one stack instead, instead of passing them put individually as she did the group of people sitting next to us. When bringing the change for those who paid with cash, she brought it in one lump, having us figure out who gave what and receives change in return. After overhearing us talk about it she Then stated " I didn't realize it would be too difficult for you people to figure out" when it was brought to her attention... She forgot to bring the to go orders... Next, we a friend went inside to talk to her about her service and how she can lose tips acting in such a way, she stated "I didn't expect a tip from you guys". We asked to speak to a manager, who came over to apologize. He was very nice and gave us all a $20 credit to return another time. Unfortunately for her she was serving professionals who definitely planned on tipping.

I came to this place because I read in a previous edition of The Weekly Yelp that they had Drunk Bingo. So I looked up other reviews on here and everyone said not to be turned off by the looks of this place, it IS a dive bar. They were definitely right! But I've been in dive bars before so no biggie! Our waiter Zac was very attentive and personable. He answered all our questions. I played it safe and ordered a slice of the white pie a some hot wings. Zac warned us and told us a slice was about the size of the menu and boy was he right. It was SO good though. I really could've eaten one more, it was just that good. The wings were decent, they were a little cold though. I tried my friend's "soul food" pizza which is topped with mashed potatoes & gravy, chicken, and collard greens and you know what? It was really good! My friend could NOT stop raving about it! Oh and prices were very reasonable! I think my bill might have been a little over $20 and that was with 2 drinks, a slice of pizza, and wings! The drunk bingo was a lot of fun. The cards are a little old and worn though. Everyone was really into it and it definitely gets harder as the rounds progress. You have to depend on yourself though to get "drunk". I wish there was a rule or something making you take a shot if you lost or SOMETHING to make it more interesting but beggars can't be choosy. Parking is a beast. There's a very tiny lot but that was good and filled by the time we got there. There's neighborhood parking around but I still had to walk a good grip, which came in handy for walking off those drinks, pizza and wings. I'll be back!

Would be 0 stars, but unfortunately can't do that. Yelped a wing place and this was the one we chose. Bad idea. This is a dive bar to say the least. We were there for 5 minutes standing and waiting to be acknowledged. It's a pretty disgusting place. If you want to smell cigarettes, hear people's conversations and not get service...then this is your place.

Awesomeness! Been here a couple of times and always enjoy the experience. The beer is cold and best of all cheap. The food is yummy with plenty of topping options. The only down side is since there is no hostess you gotta be crafty when it comes to getting a table when they are busy. But it's so worth it!!! Did I mention 40s of High Life?!? Do it!

  • Tess W.

Ate here after the SEC Championship Game and dang did it hit the spot. Delicious pizza, CHEAP drinks and a jukebox. I got soulfood and roxanne slices. The slices are huge. I can usually eat 2 pieces, no problem, but ate about half of each. Beer was insanely cheap. There are small tvs, but I wouldn't go there to watch a game I needed to watch closely. You can smoke inside, so be prepared to smell like cigarette smoke. Would definitely recommend to others and return if I was back in town.

+2 stars for the food & atmosphere -3 stars for the horrible service The food was delicious, but it took over an hour to get a slice of pizza and our waiter spilled a full glass of water all over my friend. It was really awkward. We had 5 people total in

Cool little spot. When with my friend, had a kick ass long island and ordered the parmesan chicken sub and a soul food slice. Enjoyed both and then took a little walk after. Definitely a cool spot to hit up, tables get filled quickly so make sure to head there not too late. Good music too.

All you need to know is $4 pitchers. Let's get smashed, kids! The food is pretty good, but a bit on the expensive side. I have occasionally gotten the food when I was too drunk to know better, and I was satisfied those times. On Fridays, I think, you can get a slice of cheese pizza and a 40 of High Life for $4.44, so that's a thing. Really, all you need to know is $4 pitchers. Expect to have a hard time finding somewhere to sit. Also expect slowish service because this place is constantly packed. The service has actually gotten much better lately, but you still may spend a lot of time waiting. But remember, $4 pitchers, so it's all worth it.

I recently tried Jack's and found their Pizza to be one of the best I have ever had. These guys are good. The staff is very professional and attentive. As they make everything from scratch, the wait time is a little longer, but so is perfection. I would give them 6 Stars if I could.

Love this place. If I'm out and am unsure of what to eat, i almost always end up here. Their wings are soo good, and I love their pizza. As far as drinks, I almost always hook myself up with a liquid marijuana ;) one of my favorite food spots in Atlanta.

Reasons to love Jack's Pizza: 1. Random delicious variations of pizza 2. They pretty much give away the drinks there 3. Patio 4. Great mix of people 5. Lots of trivia/bingo options Reasons to not love Jack's Pizza: 1. They are closed on Tuesdays 2. The music can get SUPER loud on weekends, making it hard to hear everyone at your table. 3. It can get quite warm inside on a summer night. But, the good trumps the bad. Cheap place to eat and drink? Boom. My favorite pizza is the BBQ Chicken, but all are good options, including the Jason (mac n cheese, bacon). Slices are huge, so you only need one, but a whole pizza is great for leftovers. The oven baked subs are great, too. Filling and you can grab a pack of chips with it. The wings I'm unfamiliar with, but a friend did get really sick from eating them one night, so I'd stick with the pizzas! A pint of High Life is $1, and a pitcher $4. You can't beat that, best deal in the city. Be sure to grab a shot of Eye of the Tiger, which is their house shot. So good! Get the cherry in it too. You can walk your dog through to their patio, which is fantastic. And on a summer night, I would definitely choose the patio. With all the people and the ovens inside it can get quite toasty!

I've only been here once, and I'm assuming most of the issues were due to how busy they were at this time (came in at about 8:30 on a Friday night). This place could definitely be a pretty cool dive spot. I came with a buddy to kill some time while we waited for another friend to arrive in town at the airport. We walked in and couldn't find a seat inside, so we settled on the patio, as it wasn't too cold yet (early November). We ordered a pitcher of beer to split, and a slice of pizza each, as well as an order of wings each. So total order was a pitcher, 2 slices, and 10 wings. The beer came out soon enough, and the slices didn't take too too long - maybe about 15 mins after we ordered. The specialty slices were great, I think we got the bella and the garlic. Our waiter checked in on us once every 10 minutes or so, and we knew he hadn't forgotten about the wings, as he assured us they just take a long time to bake. About 45 minutes after we ordered them, he comes out to say that they will be the next ones out, which (I think) they were. They weren't particularly hot (or spicy for buffalo), and we housed them pretty quickly and just asked for our checks to be on our way to the airport. I think what really bugged me was the fact that they were busy, but everyone around us was ordering lots of drinks (shots, mostly), and the servers were pretty attentive to them, running back and forth quickly with drinks and glasses. I felt like we were just not prioritized since we weren't drinking much. I'd' come back for the cheap beer and drinks to give it another shot.

Jack's Pizza is an experience. I always used to run past it on the beltline and wonder what it was like and why there were so many hip looking dudes loitering outside. I can't speak for what Jack's is like at night, as I am usually here waiting for the doors to open on Saturday or Sunday mornings. Being the first person here on weekends allows you to spend some quality time with the staff, who typically seem hungover. They basically play whatever music they want at whatever volume seems to fit their mood. For the most part, they are tattooed and grow way better mustaches than me but they have always been nice, and I've never felt out of place even when I look completely out of place. Slices are a few bucks depending on your choice of toppings, and are ENORMOUS. One would be a sizable meal, but I am completely stuffed at 2. The crust is thin and becomes really flimsy if you have greasy toppings. The garlic pie has an obscene amount of garlic, but is totally worth it. The white pizza and supreme are two of my favorites and they really pile the toppings on high. Drinks are cheap. They have Miller High Life for a buck, or $4 for a pitcher. Parking is a bastard. There's a tiny lot next door, but it's almost always full leaving you to wander around the surrounding side streets looking for curbside parking.

The worst service I have ever had in Atlanta. Waited 20 minutes to be greeted after sitting down. The server had no clue what beers were on tap. We ordered wings as an appetizer and then pizza. We specifically asked for the wings to come out first. The pizza comes out an hour later and then 20 minutes later the wings come out. We told them at that point we did not want them. The food was good but we were not warned that the kitchen was backed up and that the food would take that long to come out. Manager came over and said that he had some re-training to do with the staff. He gave us 75% off our food which was nice but then we asked for the check and then waited another 20 minutes and the server still did not come take it. We had to walk up and get her to run it. I have been here in the past and this place has been great. Now I will never go back. Our night was ruined and all I had to eat was one slice of pizza. This experience was awful.

I've yet to try the pizza, but it's on the to-do list. However the wings I got were not that great, I've definitely had better. I ordered hot, & YES they were indeed hot, but had no other kind of flavor or taste. The lower price beer is a clear representation of American consumerism - you get what you pay for. The Miller High Life pitcher was water w/ a kick. Do not get me wrong, this is a very chill spot, I'll more than likely show up again. I've been on a Saturday & it was hardly any place to sit, so that's a good thing, I guess. But the wait time for the food was so unnecessary, especially for a Monday, & it wasn't good. I can only imagine how long you'd have to wait on a very busy day.

I left a review about week ago on how horrible the service was. Robin responded on how he wanted to make it right blah blah blah. He went over and beyond. Service was 100% better food was great. I had the soul food pizza which was delicious and to my surprise wings were better. I couldn't decide so Robin put parmesean, stupid hot, and lemon pepper. Truly one of the next wings I've ever had. Some black berry drink had me lit. I fucks with this place on a good day

My friend and I were all up in Atlanta's guts this past weekend for a show at the Masquerade. Our pre-gaming/dinner found us at Jack's. The place was pretty busy and I feel bad for the waitstaff assigned to the back patio, having to huff it up those stairs every time, we weren't in a hurry so the slow service wasn't a big deal. WINGS. We got sriracha, honey bourbon, and jerk; the sriracha tasted like delicious, fiery hate, the jerk was a little dry but flavorful enough that we didn't care, and the honey bourbon was perfect for a mild, sweet palate cleanser. We also had a lot of whiskey and beer, split the fifteen wings between ourselves, and averaged $25 a person. Not fucking bad. I love me a dive bar, but a dive bar with good liquor prices, an awesome patio situation, and wings that will make my mouth numb makes this place a landmark visit. I really wish we had something equivalent in the Bhampire.

Yum! Cheap drinks, cheap pizza, good atmosphere. I've never tried the wings because they say on the menu that they take longer and the pizza here already takes forever. This place is awesome for a lot of reasons, but the speed of the food or service is not one of them. If you are super hungry, this is not the spot for you. If you want to hangout, drink some cheap dranks, and eat an hour or so after you place your order, this is more the spot for you. It's well worth the wait though, if you have the time. The bar and kitchen stay open super late. They play (free) drunken bingo on Friday's which is fun to play while you wait (if you can get a table). I always get the bbq chicken pizza and the sriracha bacon is to DIE FOR. Seriously. So good. I will warn you that it is super loud in the place too, but it's all with the 'atmosphere.' The patio is also pretty big and nice for summertime if you can grab a table before it fills up.

I used to love Taco Mac wings. Yep. Now I hate them... all thanks to Jack's. I can't describe to you how tender and delicious their wings are. They are baked in the oven, and while each of the sauces you can get with your wings may be good or not good on personal preference, I think we can all safely say that their Garlic Parm Wings is making my mouth drool RIGHT now just thinking about it. Also try: jerk, and chipotle. Another thing to try? If you love very tomato-like Bloody mary's then you're gonna love their Mary-Nary-Mary, made with their marinara sauce, or you want a super spicy one try Spicy Mary, made with their fire hot wing sauce! Also, be sure to stop by Sunday as that is Bloody Sunday special day!

This place is yet another one in which I have been terribly remiss in not checking out up until only just now. I told my friend that this place, ambience wise, reminds me a lot of the long-defunct (since 1996) Stein Clubhttps://www.facebook.com/groups/29656160962/; the exception to that comparison being that this place serves food whereas the old Stein Club did not. Helena W's assessment is spot on perfect, "It's seedy, dirty, and grimy on the inside; like those biker bars in movies (warning) outsiders to stay away..you walk out to the ample patio seating (area) with colorful graffiti artwork...it has its charm. " I enjoy the wings here (especially the hot ones) but I have mixed feelings about them too. There are many flavor options; some to me are enticing, others not so much. The wings taste like they have been baked in the pizza oven and have that special quality that makes them markedly superior to your typical fried wings. On the other hand wings are not as good as chicken wings cooked in a smoker and then finished on a charcoal grill or specialized oven (liked you get at other places around town) I definitely do not like the minuscule amount (a cursory serving) of celery sticks that they give with the wings and I have equal disdain for the pre-packaged dressings (ranch and blue cheese).. As far as the pizza goes...well...it is decidedly good but certainly not great. I have tried many different one-topping slices and some specialty slices. I liked all the ones I tried. Some more than others (Sunshine especially rocks). Pizza here kinda reminds me of the kind one might procure if you crossed Johnny's NY Style Pizza with the pizza at long defunct Shakey's. Odd and weird yet somehow works - maybe it has to do with the dough that they use. I am a pizza purist and I like one or two toppings. Some of the specialty pizzas here feature crazy, off-the-wall toppings (like the ballpark dog pizza and the soul food / fried chicken with collards pizza). I tend to shy away from that weird stuff. I tend to leave that kind of food to folks like Andrew Zimmern. I often sit at the bar (when the place is not crowded during the day) and drink, eat pizza, watch TV and chill. If I walk in and find that the place is overcrowded (which happens often at night) and there is no space at the bar, then I turn around and walk out. My friends and I have often hung out at one of the picnic tables out on the back patio and drink cheap beers ( micro-mini beers such as miller lite or miller high life) and cheap shots (fireball and "eye of the tiger" [not sure about the contents of the latter]). Inside at the bar or outside on the patio; both areas great for people watching. Another bonus is that dogs are allowed here out on the patio. This place, for some odd reason, is closed on Tuesdays. I am a fan and plan on coming back often.

Love this place! I would say best pizza in Atlanta. It's a small dive kinda place, so seating can be limited depending on when you go. Service also varies, sending on who you get, but the pizza is worth it. One slice is more like 2 or 3 of your pizza hut slices. I always get the meat lovers one (forget what it's called), but they do not skimp on the toppings. Pizza crust is thin, but not too thin. Sauce is good. Wings are baked, not fried. My bf does not like wings that are baked typically, so he asks then to cook then a little longer. He gets lemon pepper and honey bourbon mixed together, which was awesome!

A group of my coworkers came here for bingo a few weeks ago. The place was SLAMMED. We ended up sharing half a table with one couple and half a table with another couple to make space. Bingo started late and was some OK fun. I have done previous drinking bingo at the highlander and very much enjoyed that. This set up was a little different and the cards were mostly old and broken but what the heck, its bingo. The reason im raving about the four stars was the freaking pizza. Holy moly. We tried a couple different slices and they were all delicious. A second plus for me would be the mortal kobat machines in the back ;) I will certainly be back, but I might be keeping my bingo at the highlander and my pizza at Jacks.

If you are in a hurry this is not the place for you. The food is really good but the servers are slow as Christmas. It is very "hip" and they act like they are doing you a favor to serve you. Not too bad if you go on a week day.

Food is good but they have no consideration for your time. Waiter was extremely rude. Told us that it was going to be up to an hour. When we checked on our order at one hour he said it was going to be another 20 minutes. We ordered appetizers and they never came out. Waiter said "oh we'll it is what it is". Don't go here unless you have 2-3 hours to burn!!!

Jacks is the place to be. The food is exceptional, I recommend the calzones! Or one of their funky pizza slice creations (hotdog pizza ect)! They have some good alcohol prices and a good atmosphere. During dinner it's always packed though so be prepared to sit out back!

The drinks are CHEAP and the pizza is GOOD. They have a few extreme slices like a CHILI CHEESE DOG slice, and when you pick up this particular price you can tell just by how much it weighs that it's going to be filing and flavor overload. I just love how extremely casual it is. However it isn't always easy to get a table, which in my opinion is a good sign of their popularity.

I would give it 0 starts if I could. Stay away from this place! It is terrible. We went there after the Little 5 Points parade. The place is disgusting and not clean. No one is there to seat you, so the 5 of us took an open table. No one so much as even spoke to us for a good 10 minutes. I went up to the register and asked politely if we could get some menus and the guy gave me attitude and said it would be a couple of minutes. I went back to the table and sat down. A server walked by us a few minutes later with menus and went to another table that came in after we did. When he came back around, I flagged him down and asked for menus and that we were there before the table he just gave menus to. We became frustrated and just left. I have never had such terrible service.

Love the wings (especially the jerk wings, but be bold and try the cinnamon), and they have the best pizza in the city. It's divey and smoky, and sometimes the wait is hard to believe, but every minute is worth it. Great toppings and sauces to choose from, and the crust is carbonized to perfection. Plenty if drink options, and the trivia is a surprisingly good time. It's a walk for me, but it's easily worth any drive.

The staff was cool and helpful, even right before the kitchen closed at 2AM. Wings were OK, maybe a little pricey at $1 per. I had the lemon pepper and they were well flavored and not too oily. Tried one slice of Soul Food Pizza since that seems to be what everyone is talking about. It was a very interesting slice of pizza! I ate it all so it must be tasty. I had mine to go, but Jack's seems like its designed for group outings that involve lots of beer and loud conversation. I'll come back with friends.

This is seriously one of the best places to hang out in in ATL. The staff is always friendly, quirky, and on Fridays when they're slammed they ALWAYS do a great job. The pizza is the best and so are the drink specials. Us New Yorkers and New Jersies are picky about our pizza and love Jacks plain cheese! I'm a vegetarian (as I state a million times in my posts) and they are very veg friendly. My dad and hubby love their wings. I would recommend this place a million times over... I'm not sure I'm cool enough to hang out there but I love trying :)

It's seedy, dirty, and grimy on the inside; like those private biker bars in movies with a reputation amongst "outsiders" to stay away. Then you walk out to the ample patio seating with colorful graffiti artwork.... ahhhh, that's more like it. Either way, it has its charm. Other and I decided to check out Jack's Pizza today. The sharp contrast from the vibrant hippy decor on the sidewalk to the dark, unsavory atmosphere on the indoors left me slightly hesitant. But moments after entering a chipper server greeted us and invited us to sit anywhere we liked. We found the patio and proceeded to have a wonderful dinner. *Italian Pizza Rolls: A meal of themselves, VERY good!! I'll try them with pepperoni next time. *Soul Food Pizza Slice(Fried chicken, collard greens, mashed potatoes and gravy): Different... but good. Dont try to eat it with a fork. Tastes much better when you have all those flavors mixed in one bite. *Chili Cheese Dog Slice: Other liked it, I didnt try it. The thought of mustard on my pizza didnt seem appetizing to me. Food was great and the prices were even better! Service was excellent, Geronimo was on point the whole time. Jacks allows smoking on the patio, which was fine seeing as the patio was pretty empty. As we were finishing up the vacant tables filled up with smokers; I could see that being a deterrent for me. We will definitely be back, or try take out in the future.

Went here with some friends for a drink after work. They had some great specials for liquor and really cheap pitchers. The pizza was good (although nothing spectacular). The patio outside was pretty cool, and the inside is dive-bar-y.

Came here twice now, as it is dog-friendly. The pizza (supreme and soul food) is excellent. Crust is not NY thin, but is definitely not thick in any way. The slices are quite large and two of the Soul Food definitely took care of my hunger! The crowd is right around 22-27, a bit young for me, and a portion of it are pushing their hipsterism like Jehovah's Witnesses push doorbells. The majority of the staff that I have interacted with have been very sweet, professional, and generous in both their pours and in their fetching my pup a bowl of water! I will def be back for the smiles, generous pours, dog-friendliness, and great pie!

Can you really go wrong with $4 pitchers of beer? The pizza is decent. It's by no means amazing but after the cheapest two pitchers of beer you have ever had...It won't matter. The wings are surprisingly healthier than most. They don't have a fryer so they bake them. Pretty damn good. Lastly, for all of the good people from California, Colorado,Washington State and the Canadians(among others), try the Jason! It is a Macaroni and Cheese pizza topped with pieces of bacon. Pretty damn great!!

I guess after having check ins that are in the double digits (probably more because I forget to check in sometimes) I should write a review of Jack's. Obviously I like the place. But be warned, it is simple, basic and no frills, aka a dive. The pizza is good (not amazing), but they have tons of options for toppings. The wings are solid and HUGE. 10 wings always does me good. Most recently I've been into the pizza rolls, also delicious. If you're watching what you eat I wouldn't suggest coming here for a meal as it's carb and cheese city. The beer selection is standard, but they have $1 drafts and $4 pitchers, which is awesome. Eye of the tiger shots (sans the eye) are always crowd pleaser. Parking, they have a lot but it's often full. Street parking is so so. On nice days the patio rules. On cold days the inside is fine, however sometimes it gets really hot (the ovens are right there) and they allow smoking. Will I be back at Jack's? Hells yes, you never leave hungry, or sober.

Pizza and wings! What more can you ask for? I know they always have crazy drink specials but I usually just pick up something for lunch. Their slices can be flimsy but I still order them. Porter is the best bartender and a sweetheart. Cara is the best server and super sweet as well! :)

The only place that made me wait close to two (2) hours for ONE slice of pizza, and still get a positive review out of me. Here's how it all went down... It was a Friday night, and the current "guy I like" decided to pop up before heading out with friends. So I pressured him into a walk around the neighborhood because it was a beautiful night to enjoy under the stars--and because my apartment was a mess and I didn't want him to see sh*t everywhere! We walked through Inman Park into the Virginia-Highlands and back again around Inman Park--seriously, my apartment was THAT bad! So after I was damn near famished/fatigued we decided to give in to the amazing aroma coming from Jack's. Upon entry, we were very clear that we weren't going to be able to get a seat inside. Not only because it was a poppin' Friday night--which appears to also be Bingo night--but the $1 40-oz. of malt liquor (think Dr. Dre's "The Chronic") seemed to be a blaring hit. My Mouth: "One slice of cheese please." Dude-Behind-the-Bar (yea BAR!): "It's going to be about an hour." My Mouth: Really dude??! ARGGGHH! Fine. My Brain: "THANK GOD! He must know how bad my apartment looks too... more time to kill!" *happy dance* The Dude-Behind-the-Bar (DBB) asks if we want two complimentary "forties". We politely declined and here's why... I'm African-American. So is the "guy I like". And he's big--6'6" big! As two very educated professionals, who were raised with both parents we are FULLY aware that it Is NEVER okay for "us" to drink forties in public (with or without the customary brown paper bag!) Unless Snoop Dogg hands it to you himself, it's a big NO-NO! Back to the story... so we took two Blue Moon's instead and headed outside to grab a seat on one of the nearby benches. One hour goes by... I go back in to check on my ONE slice of cheese (nothing fancy!) DBB let's me know, it's not ready but offers up another round of beers. I'm not sure if getting us drunk is a common Jack's tactic but but my guy was happy and that's all that mattered in the world (don't forget the trashed a$$ apartment I was hiding.) :30 mins go by and we're accosted by a homeless man who plays the harmonica and comes up with inappropriate lyrics on the spot. My guy starts to get annoyed, I head back in to check on the slice. Not ready! By the time I head back out to the bench, harmonica-dude and my guy seem to have bonded and are looking up YouTube videos on his iPhone. I KID YOU NOT! ANOTHER :20 mins go by and we both head inside--it's only Spring, it's starting to get cold--and my slice is done! There's still is no seating, so I just decide to stand over the bar and devour my food... AND IT WAS GOOD AS HELL! Not a little bit good but "I might wait for another slice" good! I don't know what I was expecting but the homemade sauce, perfect light and crispy crust along with the humongous size was GREAT! And although the amount of time we waited was unimaginable I have to say, DBB made it all very tolerable. Aside from being severely cute, he was attentive, courteous and did every thing one person could do to keep everyone smiling. Even my guy had no complaints on the experience of it all. We will definitely be making our way back soon. If not only for the amazing pizza, drink specials and late hours but I wouldn't mind seeing the cute DBB again *wink* UPDATE: I hear they offer delivery now so I've kept my apartment consistently spotless from that point forward.

As you know I'm a fan of good ole bar food! A bar food whore as I call it.... Jack's has kick ass food. My first visit was with a coworker (a fellow bar food whore). We used a Scoutmob to check the place out. I had the garlic butter 5 piece wings and the chicken and broccoli pizza. She orders the chicken Parmesan sub and cheese bread. We were both thrilled. My second visit was with my boyfriend. I love that he enjoys bar food and the most unsuspecting places with me! He ordered the sirichi 5 piece wings and the Big Mamas pizza. I ordered the chicken Parmesan sub (I saw what my friend indulged in on my last visit and had to partake). Oooo boy was our food yummy! The scenery is very typical. I have only been during lunch hours. It's not a smoke free environment but it wasn't the typical smokey bar either. On my first visit we were the only folks there. My second visit (I think Scoutmob made them famous) there was quite a lunch crowd so the food wait was a bit longer but the wait staff (which consists of one guy) was very attentive. The waiter gave me wing flavor recommendations both times and he never disappoints! This bar is located in the Highland Park area but it is the bit least pretentious or over priced. They offer great food and friendly service in a grungy bar scene. What really stands out about their decor is the vintage lunchboxes on each table. I can't remember the last time I saw a Care Bear, GI Joe and Transformer (circa 1987) box.

Drunk Bingo on Fridays, don't ask just do it! Starts around 9:30, get there earlier to get a card and a seat! $4.00 pitchers, $1 drafts, cheap buckets and shots...some of the best prices in town. Don't tell anyone, I want to be able to find a spot when i walk in.

I love this place and especially the fact that is in walking distance to my apartment. They have great pizza, and the slices are HUGE! (a veggie slice that isn't soggy but actually has a crisp crust- near impossible, but they do it!). My husband likes to try all their crazy creations whenever he gets a slice. The prices are very reasonable and they have a great beer selection. Sure, the interior is a little run down, but I kind of think it adds to the charm. My only complaint is that the music is a tad too loud which means you have to shout to hear each other, but since we are so busy shoving our faces I guess it's not a big deal.

Love this place so much. If you havent been what are you waiting for? Always a great vibe. All different type of people. Haven't been brave enough to try the Soul Pizza but its on my list. Co signing for the pizza rolls and wings. Slices never disappoint. Choose one of their signatures or make your own. Delish! Drink specials available for all budgets.

Grabbed wings for pre-Super Bowl and was disappointed. The size of the wings is great -- true large wings. However, they aren't crispy on the outside at all. It's almost like they were baked. Also, even though I confirmed was the guy ringing me up that the blue cheese dressing was in the takeout boxes, I found out once opening them at home that it was ranch....light ranch. So off the Kroger I had to go to get the boyfriend blue cheese for wings. I'll definitely try it again though as it seems like a great place close to home...maybe just the pizza or soul food next time.

Jack's Pizza and Wings is a petri dish gone perfectly right. This place has truly mastered the art of catering to a diverse customer base without necessarily losing its underlying identity. In the end, this family-owned dive is worth a visit for multiple reasons, not the least of which is because they offer $1 beers and pizzas topped with ingredients such as mac n' cheese, baked beans, and mashed potatoes. Food: Jack's is a seemingly traditional American pizzeria. Nonetheless, the flavor profiles of some of their specialty pizzas are incredibly impressive. During my first visit, my dining partner and I opted for a medium "Jason", which was topped with a duo of gluttonous perfection: mac n' cheese and bacon. The pizza was perfectly cooked and the ingredients were fresh and generously portioned. We also ordered the plain pizza rolls, which were equally as a delicious. Service: Friendly and unpretentious. There isn't a host, so menus are kept at each table and patrons are responsible for seating themselves. However, the staff is fairly diligent about keeping track of new arrivals and greeting them in a timely manner. In addition to dine-in service, takeout and delivery are also available. Atmosphere: The physical state of the restaurant itself is fairly rundown, but it's all part of their whole shtick and doesn't appear to deter customers. The clientele is incredibly eclectic and runs the gamut from hipsters to families with children. Cost: Reasonably priced for the quality and quantity of the food offerings. Appetizers cost $4-$6, wings (10) are $8.50, salads are $5-$7.50, sandwiches and calzones are $6-$11. Pizza is $5 per slice, $15-$17 for a medium pie (serves 2-3), and $17-$22 for a large pie (serves 4-5). Alcohol is noticeably cheaper than most other bars in the area; $1 beers are available all day every day. Other: In addition to featuring live entertainment on a regular basis, Jack's Pizza and Wings also hosts various recurring events throughout the week, including trivia on Mondays (general at 8PM and cartoon at 10PM), poker on Wednesdays, adults trivia on Thursdays, drunk bingo on Fridays, and "Blood Sundays" (Bloody Mary and mimosa specials).

Jacks is an automatic go to for cheap drinks. It's a fun atmosphere in Inman park that anyone should try out! I came here tonight with my coworkers (all of us being servers). We had a great time together, mostly because of our server Alex K.! He was a wonderful server with a great personality. He is hand down the best server we have EVER had here. Drinks were ordered and delivered in an appropriate time (definite plus).

I love Jack's Pizza & Wings! It is the place I go when I want a beer, slice of pizza and some wonderful people watching. This place attracts all types and everyone seems to get along great. Don't get me wrong, this place is a dump but it is such a lovely dive bar and is among my favorites in the city.

I like Jack's because it reminds me of my home NYC . It's dirty, loud , crowded, and service can be slow - and it reminds me of all my favorite haunts on St Marks AND I LOVE IT . Drinks are cheap and strong , and the pizza is enormous slices of yummy goodness. It's the kinda of place that I could see Patti Smith or William Burroughs frequenting if it was 1975 . The bartenders are sweet and awesome, and it's a great place to hang out with friends.Go with an open mind and an open heart ,I'm sure after a few 5 dollar drinks - Jacks will be a favorite on your list

Last night we ordered Garlic bread, hot and BBQ wings, pepperoni and supreme pizzas. they were fantastic! They offer delivery through zifty.com , but I didn't want to deal with that, so I ended up just driving down, parking wasn't impossible.

Exceedingly fair. That's the only way to describe BINGO night at Jacks 's Za and Chicken Flying Limbs on a Friday pre weekend celebration. The sweet cowgirl with a southern draw is is the creme de la creme of announcers, giving out letters and numbers like nobody was watching. She only knows the innocent life of an auctioneers daughter, but in the bad lands of Inman Park she loses that persona and becomes rockette star she was meant to be. Straight to Radio City Music Hall. But I digress. Back to Jack. With only $.44 to my name and $4 from a hobo, I could get drunk and be an Italian Mariokart of delicious with garlic bread to boot. All I can say is... Passa da meatballs!!

Scoutmob walked me through these doors for the free slice of Cheese Pizza. As I looked through the menu, I frowned at the price of one slice of veggie pizza...that is until I saw the box my two slices came out in. HUGE slices, and if you can smell this pizza and not smile and/or start to have a watering mouth, you obviously have a cold! I got my order, cheese slice, veggie pizza slice, and garlic bread, to go. That alone was split over two meals and man it was good! I went in around noon on a Wednesday and the place was pretty empty, but the bartender mentions towards the evening they get really crowded, and I can believe it. They've got trivia night and cartoon trivia night (sorry, I forget which day) and drunk bingo on Friday nights. You can definitely have some fun here and if you have the scoutmob app (even if you don't), swing on by. Oh yeah, they do have a parking lot to the side of the building or you can just find parking on the street.

Reasons to like this place: it is right off the freedom parkway cycle/run route, so this can be your beer oasis after a good workout. Cool enclosed patio, with an outdoor fireplace and park bench (really). Patio takes small dogs Their pizza slices are huge and delicious. (Mind you not gourmet delicious but glad-im-munching-this-with-my-beer delicious). Dollar PBRs and Miller high life Decent beer selection, all at very reasonable prices Wide food selection at cheap prices (but I would highly recommend going with the pizzas) cool weekday activities like trivia and poker. Sweet neighborhood bar, check it out!

Cool ass dive bar..came here with some friends for some daytime turn up action and had a helluva time. Can never go wrong with $4 pitchers and $3 shots! Pizza and wings were good too but it takes a while for wings to come once ordered.

Went to Jack's and got a cheese pizza. Tasted pretty good and the sauce was the highlight. They have an extensive menu of different pizzas including the "Soul Food" pizza which is topped with: Fried chicken, mashed potatoes, collard greens and gravy. I won't be trying that anytime soon. The atmosphere was ok and had that "midtown" feel to it

This place is pretty cool on the inside. Very raw and hip to me, and the food is real good. My friends all got the pizza while I got the wings, and luckily they let me try their pizza, and I was a fan. The coolest part about the food and the menu is the uniqueness and the choices with the food. I mean come on, fried chicken and mac and cheese pizza?? Pretty awesome if I do say so myself. The wing sauces are also pretty cool and unique. Strawberry? Cinnamon? They got them all. I got Siracha, and I was realllll satisfied, and they were grilled, not fried and fatty. I would definitely go back and try some more wing flavors in a heart beat. The wing prices were a bit high for me though, but very delicious.

Are you a hipster? Do you like people watching hipsters? Do you abhor the term hipster because you think you're better than that, yet have an ironic mustache, wear skinny jeans, and drive a moped that you've removed the muffler and drive it ironically up and down highland? Then you will LOVE Jack's. The pizza, calzones, garlic bread, beer, well, everything here is AWESOME! For what seems like a generic greasy pizza, it really is top notch. The toppings are plentiful and greasy and delicious. They also offer some really cool options like artichokes, an a fried chicken pizza that I have only drooled at from afar. The service here is always great, prompt, and fast. It's kind of incredible how quickly they get out a whole pizza or calzone. The clientele is awesome. LOTS of ironic mustaches and colored socks. However, I will mention that if you dress like a typical VA-Highlander, prepare to be judged and get some funny looks. I think that's one of my favorite things about this place. It's so unpretentious and laid-back that it ends up being a little pretentious. Not in a bad way, just in an ironic kind of way. The music at Jack's hits it out of the park. It's always loud and good. I'm not sure who's always behind the jukebox, but seriously it's good shit. So don't wash your hair, pull the muffler off that moped, and put on some black socks with sandals, because Jack's awaits your irony!...and love of AWESOME pizza!

Lets just say.. Expect the unexpected! The service is iffy but the pie is great! I opted to leave when I saw a waiter with a move piercing then I realized I was in "East Atlanta"!! Lol! Soooo we ordered the soul food if course, deliciously good! The wings were a hit also. .. Dry, baked with a lot of different favors! Cheap drinks! Cool patio.. Give it a try! You will like it

I came here for trivia night. It was okay. I really liked my beer and tater tots. My waitress was angry, probably because drunk people kept running into her. The dude announcing the trivia questions could barely be heard. I have friends who go to trivia here every week, but I don't think I could make this my regular spot.

Yummy pizza. A spacious, shaded outside dining area. A warm, but not hot, early summer day. You can't get much better than that. But it did! Our waitress also handled our gigantic group with expert ease. I dread eating out with more than five people, and she made it a painless experience.

I went in here expecting regular bar food. I was very surprised to get very good food. I had a Stromboli and my boyfriend had Lemon Pepper wings and fries. Other than the fries everything was really tasty and flavorful. The service was ok, but could of been better. Considering it's a bar I accepted the slacking service.

Not the best pizza I've had, just some standard good giant size slices. They get pretty experimental with these. I like the hangover and soul food. They pair great with their $4 high life pitchers while soaking up some rays on their back patio. One of my favorite Sunday afternoon spots.

I'm just adding a note on delivery. DO NOT get delivery from Jack's. The pizza tasted completely different and their ZIfty service added like $8 on to our original bill. Better to just eat in house, where I have always been satisfied.

I'm in love with this place! The servers are awesome, drinks are ridiculously cheap and they always have great specials ($2 fireball!!). The patio is the best place to sit (giant picnic benches under an awning, so you can sit outside evn when it rains), and you can bring your dog along :). No smoking inside until 9:00 so families with kids or whatever can eat which is fine, because I only sit inside if I have to. Try the old fashioned calzone - it's about the size of a large pizza folded in half, stuffed with the most amazing combination of melty, gooey cheese. I always get tomatoes and mushrooms in it and it's perfect (perfectly unhealthy as well, I'm sure). They have trivia night on Friday, which I find odd because it gets so busy, I'd rather listen to music than questions about trivial stuff (see what I did there). They also have bingo and other random themed nights. (It seems like every Tuesday I want to go, and alas I remember they are closed on Tuesdays...whhhhhyyyyy???). I used to go 2-3 times a week before I moved a bit further away. It's just an awesome place to drink, eat, and hang out with friends. I would give it more stars if I could!

This review is well overdue, since I frequent Jack's quite often. But let me start off by saying don't let the grimy look fool you, the pizza and wings are OFF THE HOOK and the adult beverages are good and strong!! Now if you are looking to broad your horizon in the category of pizza--this is the place to do it. I have tried everything from hangover pizza to the soul food pizza, to the chilli hotdog pizza--Yes you read that correctly CHILLI HOTDOG PIZZA!! Was it delish? YES!! Every pizza I have had from this joint has been AWESOME! Now on to the atmosphere: Grimy and Small but it's so chill. And on nice nights you can kick it on the patio!! I love, love, love eating outside on nice nights so this is right up my alley. Could this be a date spot? Sure why not! Me and my guy come here all the time--great food and great drinks--what more could you ask for? If you are ever in the highlands area please check out Jacks--trust me you won't be sorry. Side Note: If you are not into thin crust pizza you may not want to order the pizza--go with the wings instead. They only have thin crust.

Interesting place with interesting employees and patrons, most of whom are super nice. There are a few regulars there that are really fun to talk to at the bar (Kenny). It's also a great place to watch the game. My go-to meal is: 1. garlic parmesan wings, which are all baked and not fried, 2. tots with pesto sauce (you're welcome!), and 3. a shot of eye of the tiger

Holy hell. What a disappointment. Went in for a snack and beers, ended up with slow, rude, flippant service. The waitress was a real asshole. To top it off, she auto-grat'd us and got 18%. Bullshit. Honestly, it seemed like she was making an effort to show us what an inconvenience we were to her. Also, the pizza isn't great, as it's super doughy. Two stars only because the the pizza is cheap (and so is the beer), and the patio is pretty sweet.

Swoon... the little cup of garlic butter goodness that came with my cheese pizza was to die for....why had I not received this before?!? Perfect for dipping the crust, or just covering the entire pizza slice with. BTW, the pizza called "Sunshine" rocks- white pizza with spinach, artichokes, & mushrooms. You are my sunshine, my only sunshine... Jello shots for $1? Yes please!

So close to me and so nommy. I play trivia here most Mondays, which is half price wing night. BEWARE THE STRAWBERRY that's all I am saying about that. The pizzas are awesome, you can get mac and cheese on a pizza, you can get mashed taters on a pizza... crazy people. The drinks are so nicely priced it's crazy and the food is so affordable as well. If you ask nicely, sometimes "a waiter who will not be named" will help you out on a trivia question... and sometimes he will be right.

  • R. J. R.

Drove from Cumming just to try this place and it was well worth it! Definitely a diverse crowd but everyone was super nice, especially our server, Mike. The strawberry wings were amazing (sounds weird but they were only slightly sweet and had some good heat to them) and the Sriracha-candied bacon mac and cheese pizza was to die for! Add in $1 Miller High Life pints/$4 pitchers and I'm sold! Definitely will be back!!!

  • Katy M.

I'm a big fan of this place and will certainly keep coming back! You can't ask for better prices on beer, and the waiters are generally friendly and good at their jobs. The place was completely slammed last night, and our waiter was still attentive and happy to help. (I don't remember his name, but he was training last night under another waitress who was also great!) They do a lot to make people feel comfortable, there are several seating areas, each with a different feel. There's usually some sort of activity going on (trivia, bingo, whatever), but it's a great place to go even if you just want to have a slice of pizza with a friend, you can still hear each other from across the table. Sure, I've had orders mixed up, forgotten, etc... No place is perfect. The parking sucks, it sucks everywhere on Highland. But what do you want from a pizza joint? I'm glad they're around. Do yourself a favor and check this place out.

I just moved in across the street from Jack's and I'm already there a good bit. It's some of the best pizza I've ever had. I can't think of anything better off the top of my head, but I don't want to jump to a conclusion like that without really thinking about it first. Also, $1 PBRs and High Life, though they tend to run out. I've yet to get a $1 PBR, but their tall boy buckets are only $8. That's for 5 16oz beers, so that's still pretty good. The running out of PBR draft is the only reason they don't get 5. As for the atmosphere, it is very dive-y. However, you're just as likely to see a family or an over 40 gang as your friendly, neighborhood hipster eating here. The inside area does get rather smoky (I've only sat there once), but the patio is great. Service has always been great for me. I want some pizza! I think I'll walk over there right now!

You just can't go wrong with Jacks if you love a chill dive bar atmosphere and cheap drinks. The Pizza is off chain. Large slices with huge toppings in original combinations with a tasty crust and no shortage of real cheese. The bar and wait staff is laid back, but kind and quick with a smile. I gave this place a rough review before, but have been back many times bandstand corrected.

This is a bar that goes for the divey feel but hits the mark in a cool way. They have a jukebox with great music and a number of events that go on here, i even say an upcoming jello wrestling bout, oh man. One thing to note its definitely more of a bar then a restaurant, its loud as hell in here. Just keep that in mind in case you wanted a quieter evening :) As the name implies we went for the pizza and wings. The pizza was average, we got a standard one with portabella mushrooms as a topping. They have all kinds of crazy pizza combinations here. I even saw one with mac and cheese and another with fried chicken on it. The wings were good, they come baked which is awesome, service was good. Ill be back to try some more wing flavors, they have a ton.

Jack's pizza is awesome for the following reasons: Delicious pizza with a wide variety of strange and unusual toppings (hot dogs and mac-n-cheese on a pizza??). $4 "Old 4th Ward" Pitches (I think it is High Life) The crowd is cool and the servers are attentive and laid back. They are now starting to have shows every now and then. I went to the Withered show (they toured with Danzig) and the place felt like a new Lennys had been born. Jack's Pizza should continue to have shows! I want to start hanging out here more often...

This is a good pizza joint that thoroughly captures the feel of the neighborhood it is in. The eclectic decoration and the graffiti'd patio match the spirits of the equally graffiti'd clientele and staff. Add to this that the place has quality pizza and a good beer selection, and you've got a well executed excursion ahead of you.

Our server seemed more interested in chatting with regulars and texting on his phone than refilling our drinks/beer. Food took almost 45 minutes and there was no apology. It wasnt even busy! Maybe 12 people in the entire place. Very disappointing considering I've had their food delivered to my place (less than a mile away). I'll stick to delivery. Worst service I've ever had and I'm in the industry.

So, I strolled into Jacks hoping for a low-key place with wings and some pizza.. and it is OH so much more. They have baked wings, which I had - that were delicious. My friend has just one slice of pizza that was HUGE and she raved about it. There were several specialty pizzas that sounded very... creative to say the least.. and strawberry wings?? I don't know Jack about that.. We also tried the dessert pizza topped with chocolate, gummie bears, kitkats, reeses.. and it was fabulous. They have trivia on several weeknights, and malt liquor for 1.50.. Whats not to love!

Let me preface this by saying I am not one of those bitter, bored Yelpers who thrive on writing bad reviews because they have nothing better to do with their lives. I rarely write reviews and the ones I write are positive. I like Jacks. Good pizza, good drink prices, cool atmosphere. That was until Saturday March 30th. A group of friends and I were out barhopping and having a great time. One of my friends suggested we go to Jacks. We walk in, it's pretty crowded, so we waited a bit to get the bartenders attention to grab a few drinks. Since the bar was full, we opted to sit at a table, and my friend asked the bartender if we could order. He said, and I quote "if you would like to sit at my bar, I can help you. But if you want to sit at a table, I can't help you. We are a full service establishment. I'm not trying to be a d**k." I have been a bartender in Atlanta for 13 years. He was being a condescending jerk for absolutely no reason, and since all of my friends are in the industry he lost out on at least a $20 tip, not to mention any further business from me or any of my friends. I won't be back. Respect is mandatory when you are in the service industry.

Exactly what a dive bar should look like. If your timid it's scary on the inside. In the other reviews I keeping about friendly staff. I have yet to see this. Now I have had pizza from here before but always got delivery. The pizza is still consistently good staff made me take a star away.

1/2 price wings on mondays... these are baked, not fried, and a little on the small side. Still, the sauces are tasty. so they're worth 4 bucks on mondays. $1 house drafts ALL THE TIME. Awesome. Obviously not a quality beer but it's a dollar and it's better than PBR (isn't everything?) $1.50 Garlic bread! Best secret of this place! I know it probably costs them nothing but you get two huge pieces of garlic bread with excellent sauce for a buck fifty! Awesome. The place itself is divey, but very friendly. Went here for trivia with yelpers, which had mixed results. We sucked at general trivia (questions were harder than expected) but won at cartoon trivia. I wouldn't be a regular here but I will definitely come back

UPDATE: This place has went slightly downhill. While the food is still good, service has really suffered. I ordered the Italian pizza rolls (I highly recommend those), and after around an hour had passed and everyone else (except another girl who ordered pizza rolls) had received their food, I asked if my food had gotten lost or something. The server took another 15 minutes to investigate and then said she just forgot to turn it in and would get the rolls to me in 15 minutes. 30-45 minutes later I finally received the Italian pizza rolls I ordered 2+ hours ago. I appreciated that she comp'd the meal, but still...that was ridiculous! Original: Pretty cool place with good pizza (with lots of different, weird options available!) and cheap beer. Patio out back is nice. I took away one star for the slow service on my last visit...it's kind of hit or miss in that department.

Strawberry/Lemon Pepper Wings...... Yup I really said that.... DELICIOUS!!! This place has some of the most unique/delicious food in the CITY and that says a lot. A slice of pizza containing Chicken, Greens and Mashed potatoes called the Soul Food. Or the toasted subs or the amazing STRAWBERRY FLAVORED WINGS absolutely delicious. The waiter was amazingly cool and the vibe was awesome. I cant wait to go back again. I know this review sounds crazy but I am still trying not to eat my fingers from the sauce. Tell em Erik said hello!

Don't order to go. Unless you'd like to count the rats while you wait. Worst service I've ever seen. 15 min equals 45 and its your fault they can't tell time. Just a bunch of assholes in a pizza joint.

I fully intended to get a full night's sleep before Easter Sunday so I would be wide-awake for my childhood church's celebratory service and following family meal complete with fine china. But I left the Kills show at the Masquerade and drove to Jack's Pizza instead of home. All these cool people with tattoos were there nodding their heads to live metal music. One Jack & Coke in my hand, and it was done. I got involved in a great conversation with a fellow Royal Thunder fan about our childhood cats (both of which are still alive and named Lily!), and before I knew it, 3 a.m. hit. Yet my great night at Jack's canceled out most of the next day's exhaustion, and I made it to my family's church service (only 30 minutes late...) Plus, I couldn't help but shake around to a rockified spiritual in the second-to-front pew. This says something.

I'd heard about this place from several friends and even met one of their bartender's at a party once and still never made the effort to check it out. Then Scoutmob was like.."oh hey, come get a free slice of pizza at Jack's." SOLD. I love the feel of this place. Nice dive bar atmosphere, but you don't feel like you're sitting in a s***hole. Seating inside is a little limited, but there's a back patio area that's pretty accommodating. The pizza is great and very reasonably priced. Everything from a basic cheese slice up to crazy stuff like the Soul Food pizza. They have a very interesting array of hot wing flavors as well, which I was unable to try on my initial visit. I plan on sampling as many of these as possible. The beer prices are unbeatable. Seriously. I have a very strong feeling I might just earn the title "regular" here in the near feature.

Jack's is the best pizza I've had in Atlanta, no doubt. The crust is fantastic and the dipping sauce will ruin you to all others. Parking can be a real pain on a busy night but I have never been unable to find anything. It's on the higher end price wise but worth every penny. I couldn't reccomend this place enough.

  • Tiffany S.

I would say this is just an average place for food. Cool little dive bar. Interesting pizza toppings (soul food with fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and collard greens... yeah, don't know about that). Calzone was good. Decent beer selection.

Good stuff first (always compliment before you criticize right?) 1. A couple of cute waitresses. 2. Big Momma slice rules. 3. Nice juke box 4.Scoutmob/Foursquare discounts Bad stuff: 1. You have to pay for hot sauce/ranch 2. crust is a bit flimsy, slices aren't "folders" 3. Not kid friendly, even on a saturday afternoon (drunk ass motherfuckers dropping fbombs around babies - just not cool) 4. Can't scoutmob/foursquare discount at the same time I'll be back but only with the boys. If you got kids, stick to Felini's. I did good and split before I turned green and put that pint glass in the skull of the old drunk dude, but that was just because I didn't loose my Jesus in front of my kids.

Yummah...Pizza! : ) *Licks lips* No seriously...I think this would be the best place to come with a group of friends...grab a beer...slice of pizza (cause seriously...their slices are like half of the pizza) and relax out in a chill enviroment. I knew it would be my kind of scene when I heard about the games. I personally built my own slice with mushrooms & jalapeno's, while my bf went with the garlic and hot sauce rendition of the wings...he said since they were baked they were falling of the bone, but other than that they were great. My brother had the a slice of sunshine...while it was good I still liked mine better...Maybe I was just in the mood for what I got. : ) They met all of my expectations and then some...grape drink & Cabernet AND PBR...LOVE this place! : )

Straight dive. Good pizza. $4 pitcher (yes, I mean it, $4) Been a good few times, very laid back, divey atmosphere, with cool bartenders and that pizza. They have a 4$ pitcher. I once witnessed a waitress find a man's wallet on the floor with $350 in it and give it back to him. They have women's jello wrestling, which they also project onto a giant screen next to the shot dispensory in the parking lot. I enjoy having a place to go that rivals the Highlander in its seedy chillness.

I love this spot for multiple reasons: 1. $4 pitchers 2. $3 BIG shots of Grand Marnier 3. Soul Food Pizza: pizza topped in fried chicken, collard greens, mashed potatoes and gravy... Yum! 4. It's a dive, but its well lit and clean 5. Very friendly staff 6. It's very close to my house. 7. Touch screen bar game thing. Love those! 8. Great selection of music from the juke box 9. I went on a Saturday and it wasn't packed! I could sit and have a beer without all the noise and craziness! 10. Clean bathrooms! This is my new favorite!

I love this place! It's divey without actually being dirty or disgusting. It's cheap, tasty, and got a great chillaxin' atmosphere. As a non-smoker, I appreciate the fact that it's not generally super smoke-filled. I'm sad that they've raised the price of the Eye of the Tiger in the last year or two (I SWEAR it used to be $2 or $2.50?), but even at $3 it's a really affordable way to have some fun. And for the broke beer-drinkers out there, they've got $1 beers (Old Fourth Ward) as well as a few "recession specials". The wings are good, the cheesy bread is good, the salads are good. I somehow haven't made it around to the pizzas yet, but I'm betting they're good too. The servers are always likeable and get the job done. I have been here many times, and will be back many more!!

I like this place. It's definitely a hole in the wall joint but we had a good time and their pizza served its purpose. Christy R.and I checked out Jack's Sunday afternoon because P'Cheens was still trying to get their act together. To our surprise, Jack's was great. I had their white pizza with artichoke hearts, spinach and mushrooms. It was exactly what I expected but I'm still not used to the thin slices since being a native of Chicago, I am all about the thick or stuffed crust. The slices were large enough for one serving and I was happy to not be bothered by any smokers at the bar. Totally thought the lunch boxes filled with your salt/pepper shakers and parmesean cheese shakers was adorable. Love the 4th Ward area and must return again soon.

Jack's is awesome. On Monday the bartender (I forget his name) was the only one working and he was still very attentive to his guests on the patio, as well as the people at the bar. The pizza is always great & it was a trip to see my friend eat the Thanksgiving pizza, haha!! I had the calzone and I suggest their calzones to anyone who loves them. Great job, bartender & cook!!! And thanks for everything!

Yelp usually has it right... but on this one.. wrong, wrong , wrong. I am so glad I just had a taste for pizza tonight. So I limited myself to get only 2 slices of pizza instead of ordering a whole pie.. Now that was the best thing I could have ever done. I ordered something simple a slice of cheese pizza & slice of pepperoni pizza. I was just trying to fulfill my comfort food craving tonight. I can't believe I drove past 4 pizza salons to get to this one. How do you make a cheese pizza GREASY GREASY GREASY? I can understand with the pepperoni w/ the oil coming of the meat . I guess they put some kind of oil on it w/ the tomato sauce. I should have just went to Grand Central in East Atlanta, because this pizza is not good at all. I mean really if your cheese pizza is bad how can any of the others be good? But I guess this is all up to personal taste. If you like salty greasy thin crust pizza then this is your joint. I do like that fact they have thin crust. They can hang it up for a 2nd visit to this place. There too many places b/w East Atlanta & Highland ave to satisfy the pizza crave. Like Grand Centra, Savage, & Urban Pie.

so much to write about lol. stopped by this past weekend to grab some food to go.. the Yelp reviews seemed promising. I was looking for some good pizza and some good wings. They were open to midnight on July 4th. When I walk in.. I see just ONE customer in the place. This place looked like a rundown bar/restaurant.. the waitresses were smoking and sitting at the counter.. the bartender was just talking to them. I sat down at the bar.. ordered some food (ill write about the food later). I felt very awkward in the restaurant.. flyers with raunchy photographs of half naked girls advertising about the restauranta'ts jello wrestling tournaments. i dont really care to see a chubby girl in a bikini rolling around in jello on a flyer hanging up by somewhere that I am going to eat. not very appetizing. PLUS side though is that the bartender was pretty friendly (or buzzed since before he took our order he did shots with the two waitresses). NOW TO THE FOOD: -Pizza - very salty. the sauce was good.. but over salted. crust was kind of stale/hard to chew. 3 stars -Spicy Frices - they were spicy.. but they tasted like fries you buy at the store.. they were soggy. very soggy. 2 stars -Wings - ordered two types of wings.. seems like one batch they forgot to put sauce on? the ones that did get the sauce were good.. but the unseasoned ones were not. 2 stars. Def not going back. Didn't even finish the pizza. threw 2 or 3 slices away. There has to be better places for wings/pizza in Atlanta.. at least I hope so...

I really would like to give this place a good review. I enjoyed this place the first time I attended and the food and drinks where great! My complaint is with the people who attend this bar, and with the management. Some people from work wanted to go out after work so we decided on Jack's. First my friend got yelled at by some hipster punk girl out front for trying to talk to her. Then a guy from our group accidentally used the woman's restroom and was cursed out by a girl who had been drinking. He cursed back and was told to leave by MGMT. MGMT had the right to call the cops, because these work friends where cursing at the MGMT. Myself and a friend apologized for the actions of our work friends. We where treated poorly by management and had to talk to the cops, because the MGMT pointed us out, we had nothing to do with the argument. My work friends left feeling RACIALLY profiled by this place. I feel that while yes they where upset at the way that my co-workers reacted, this was totally justifiable, MGMT could have handled it a little better. WE PAID a huge tab after all!! In conclusion great food and drinks! Servers where great! Bingo night is cool! I am just upset with how we where treated by the costumers and the MGMT. I thought the manager was cool until he pointed out the black guy in our group to talk to the police.

Scoutmob brought a group of friends and I in and the cheap beer and good pizza might incite me to come back. Let me say it again: CHEAP BEER--$1 pints and $4 pitchers of PBR (listed on the menu as "Old Fourth Ward"). That fact alone secures at least two stars in my book. And don't worry, for those of y'all with better taste than I, Jack's Pizza has a good (not amazing, but definitely decent) selection of draft and bottled beer. Another positive is that if one is sometimes creatively challenged with regard to your drink choices (as I often am), they have about eight beer combos listed on the menu. I didn't try any last night ($4 PBR was callin' my name =), but I very much like the idea and am ever appreciative of that feature on another restaurant's menu for introducing me to the deliciousness that is [Harp's] Lager and Lime and Guinness Shandies. I'm usually not gung-ho about non-pizza delivery place pizza (it might also have to do with the fact that the boyf categorically doesn't eat cheese or tomatoes, which means that my frequenting of Atlanta pizza joints is very rare), but Jack's Pizza thoroughly surprised me by serving me a very large and delicious slice of cheese pizza ($1.99). The crust was on the thin and crispy side, which is something that I usually do not like, but it worked for this particular piece. Their menu lists a variety of kinds of pizza one can get in individual slices or medium or large pies. One of my friends got a slice of their "soul food" pizza ($4.49), which had fried chicken, mashed potatoes, collard greens, and gravy on it. She was generous and offered me a bite, and it was scrumptious. I would have never thought that this combo would be good on pizza, but somehow Jack's Pizza made it work. That makes me want to get adventurous and try out other menu possibilities! I was a little worried about the availability of parking, but I was able to find street parking on Highland Ave just across from the Highland Walk apartment complex without a problem on 9:30 pm on a Saturday night. Jack's Pizza rocks its neighborhood dive bar vibe well, has lots of seating, and the music isn't loud enough to prevent good conversation. I would definitely come back... and am thinking about participating in at least one of their three Jell-O wrestling events! Cf. jackspizzaandwings.com/j…

I love this place because it's a great neighborhood bar. The pizza is really good, the servers are mostly tattooed, and the beer is affordable. The folks are nice and it's a good mixed crowd. We live around the corner, so we will be here a lot!

We came in the middle of the afternoon soon we had pretty personal service which was nice. It was hot outside and our waitress/bartender kept our cokes full. Often times if we are not drinking booze we are ignored that was not the case here. Our pizza was just a simple medium cheese but it was pretty good. The decor is fun definitely not your family pizza place. I would go back if I was in the Inman park area. I had to deny the 5th star because the spicy fries were some of the most disgusting fries I have ever had. Soggy undercooked and seemingly pre-seasoned from the Kroger bag they came from.

It's Jack's. It a hole because it is supposed to be. Love the patio and the 4$ pitchers (Old 4th Ward aka High Life). Sandwiches are the way to go unlesss you looking for my specialy pie of pinapple, bacon and jalapenos. Great for a truly low key night that will end in a solid stumble home.

I took the opportunity to visit Jack's again with my Scoutmob code in hand. We had the Veggie pizza with a 5-pc order of Chipotle chicken wings. Simply fantastic. One of the best veggie pies I've ever had. Our waitress took very good & friendly care of us. Keep up the good work, folks!

  • Danielle C.

Jack's is right up the street from my apartment, and well within my price range for drink ($1-$3, depending what you're having.) In my opinion, that alone earned the first 3 stars. Aside from all that, service is great. The bartenders keep my dollar draft glass full and that's all a girl can really ask for...but...(there's always at least one)... I'm a New York girl, so I hold my slices to pretty high standards. The Supreme slice had lots of meat and veggies but my crust was slightly uncooked in the middle. How is that even possible when the pizza is this thin? Wings could be better, but that's just because I like my meat deep-fried and crunchy. The cheesy garlic bread left a little to be desired, what with there being virtually no garlic on it. But let's be real, you don't go to this place for gourmet food. You go for the chill atmosphere and a $7 buzz. Jack's, you be seeing lots more of me.

  • Elizabeth E.

Jack's is just the kind of grungy bar I wish we had in our neighborhood in Ann Arbor. Unfortunately, A2 is a bit too fancy for cheap beer and pizza - which also means it's a bit too fancy for me. Seriously, though, Jack's seems like it's just my style. I stopped in mid-afternoon for a cold one after a long walk. The bartender hit just the right service note - attentive, but not inquisitive, happy to leave me alone with my beer and my book until I needed something. Good stuff. Would drink there again.

Really? Water in the Patron. One lovely Thursday night, I went with a group of friends for Trivia and wings. We got cheap pitchers and answered all the lovely Adult trivia. HOWEVER, I ordered 2 shots. One was this lousy orange shot the waitress recommended. Since I didnt feel the buzz (Im a "good" drinker) I ordered the shot of Patron...which was around $3 cheaper than usual places. Now I know why! WATER! Who puts water in Patron? A VERY distinctive taste. I even sipped it. And was taken aback that I didnt squint my eyes. I had my partner sip it and he was also shocked by the taste of water. If you are a tequila connoisseur, you would be very livid about the scam performed on such a fantastic liquor. Im appalled. Jack's, if you want to be sleezy? Dont add Patron to your menu.

I think this is some of the best pizza in town. It is a total dive bar, but the beers, shots and pizza are cheap and good! Don't go for atmosphere or customer service. The staff is not known for friendliness. But the yummy food is worth it!

  • James K.

Friends and I go here mostly to drink cheap. Pitchers of "Old Fourth Ward Brew" (Miller High Life) are $4. Shots start at $3, including the delicious and potent "Eye of the Tiger" (Everclear?, Red Bull, Gatorade and a maraschino cherry). They do a $4 "Shot of the Day" which is always random and usually delicious. Also, buckets of beer are pretty cheap. The food is decent. Some of it is amazing; some I could do without. I highly recommend specialty slices, such as "The Jason", covered in mac'n'cheese and bacon. Also the subs are delicious. I was not very impressed with the bland pizza sticks appetizer, and the calzones are nothing special. They offer a great selection of flavors for their wings, but I wish they had something a little hotter than the "On Fire" variety. The service is great. The servers are attentive and personable. They know their food and drinks, and are quick to provide a good recommendation. The environment is very laid back. The crowd is mostly young folks, dominated by hipsters, punks, and a lot of regulars. Adult Trivia on Thursday nights features a "Sex, Drugs and Rock'n'Roll" theme. Other special events include: poker, bingo, and occasionally some sexy Jello Wrestling. Other random stuff: great dog friendly porch, smoking inside after 9 pm, no pool table or dart boards, lively bar, open till 3 am on Friday and Saturday, although they sometimes close early.

Word on the street is that one of our New York (read: Pizza Expert) friends endorses Johnny's as good pizza. In fact, apparently it's his new Atlanta pizza crush. Though this is a chain, I get the feeling that each location has its own flavor. The Highlands location fits into the area nicely - a good dose of non-chainy feeling flavor, with things like condiments housed in plastic lunchboxes, a handwritten sign proudly announcing that No, you will not be seated if you're on your cell phone, and a staff that has cooler tattoos than you do. As for the pizza - we went basic with a cheese. I'm a pizza crust kind of girl, and I approve of the consistency of this pie's dough. A tasty pizza. The garden salad was pretty basic and decent enough; and did include one rotten tomato. But they're not called "Johnny's Salads" for a reason - pizza's why you show up (or even call in for delivery) to Johnny's. The Final Crust? A cool laid back place to meet up with friends - pies are reasonably priced, and for your friends on pizza-prohibited diets, lure them here with the selection of sandwiches, calzones, and dinner specials like spaghetti. And of course a cold, frosty beer.

We live across the street from this place, it's a solid, solid place for cheap beer, pizza, and wings. They have $4 pitchers of "Old Fourth Ward" (high life) and the rest of their drinks are affordable as well. The pizza is great and a single slice was enough for me. The thin, crispy crust was perfect. The wings are baked and taste great too. A nice dive in the middle of a neighborhood of restaurants and bars that try to be a little too trendy sometimes.

Very Local Pizza, Wings, Beer & Shots establishment. Multiple trivia sessions a week - Regular and Cartoon on Monday nights at 8 and 9:30. Large Slices of Pizza for $5. Service was right: enough without being annoying. Extremely 'Old 4th Ward' Atlanta, Fairly Adult.

Once again, my group managed to find a restaurant that could handle a massive group stumbling in at random times throughout the night. Not only were the waiters we had good, but they stayed on top of everything. Drinks, food, everything was just right. When you're dealing with 7 tables stuck together and over 20 people, that's pretty damn good! The wings are great, and half off on Mondays. Also on Mondays are general trivia followed by cartoon trivia. Those two things combined alone should be enough to make you come here, but if that's not enough, imagine sitting down and finding an A-Team lunchbox on your table. Now we're talking awesome squared! I've not been back on other nights, but they seem to have quite a bit going on each night. A little somethin somethin for everyone, from hip-hop to adult trivia. Glad this isn't a Johnny's anymore because then I would have to have written a pretty awful review. You should be glad too - the bad was replaced with a pizza and wings place that's actually pretty fun. Again, A-Team lunch box I say!

I really REALLY like this place. There's no particular reason why it excels above and beyond other bars, but here are a few fine points to mention: 1) Old school Star Wars plastic lunchboxes serve as the condiment carriers. 2) A stellar music playlist. 3) $1 beers. All. the. time. Their Old Fourth Ward ale isn't bad (just a typical domestic light lager), and at $4 a pitcher (yes, not a special-- it's this price all of the time) it becomes extremely tasty. 4) Diverse clientele: a lot of hipsters, but many old regulars (and by old I mean double Ivan S' age old) and other locals. 5) Friendly, fast service. Our guy tonight was Sam and he was charming, quick, and always there when we needed him. Three cheers for Sam! 6) They had a side dish called a "meatball boat," and it is just that: three delicious meatballs covered in cheese and served on a plate. What could be better? And if those 6 points don't get you in on their own, they've got a pretty fun trivia night. Mondays host general knowledge at 8pm followed by a round of cartoon trivia at 10. Thursdays have adult trivia at 10, which I can only imagine would be tons of fun. I'm hoping to move in to the very close vicinity, but even if not, you can bet a $4 pitcher that I'll be back here. Soon.

The feel of this place is very punk rock and the food is amazing. I had the artichoke, spinach and Ricotta cheese pizza and it was the best slice of pizza I've ever had. I highly recommend this place.

I'm really digging on Jack's right now. I've been waiting to try the food on location before writing my review and finally got to last week. We've gone here many times for drinks with friends and the prices are of course the initial draw, but they keep you coming back with great service and punk rock friendly vibe. Some friends met up for adult trivia on Thursday night, which was awesome - definitely a trivia repeat, very well run and fun questions. Though there was a LOT of hip hop played over trivia, which is fine, but I was hoping for the usual rocking vibe. The pizza was fantastic. Bacon and spinach for me, just one slice. I could have gone for another half a slice, so Hubby D. let me have one of his nasty anchovies and mushroom pizza bones. We've gotten take out from Jack's before and it's always been good too, it makes it the mile or so home without turning soggy or anything. Looking forward to trying out their poker night on Wednesday soon!

Throughout college, I worked for Mellow Mushroom and my love for their pizza still runs deep. But the pie at Jack's Pizza & Wings is a very strong contender for the pizza part of my heart. Their Sunshine Pizza (spinach, mushrooms and artichoke hearts on a white pie) is simply divine. Their slices are substantial to say the least and they make a yummy garlic bread with cheese. On a recent trip to Jack's a friend expressed her disappointment in their garden salad, and I have to say that the partially wilted lettuce and lack of other veggies didn't look very appetizing either. The service here is great. Every server that I've ever had at Jack's has been friendly, prompt, helpful and (dare I say?) sweet. Their Adult Trivia on Thursday nights is a lot of fun, but be forewarned that Jack's small parking lot fills up faster than usual on trivia night.

Nice hole in the wall spot to grab a slice late night. The pizza was good...granted it was past 1AM and I was very hungry, so most anything would of pleased the taste buds. I want to give it 4 stars, but have to take one off because of the heavy layer of smoke (I know, get used to it, I am not in California anymore Toto)...and they wanted to charge me 50cents for a little extra pizza sauce. Service was very good and friendly. I don't think slices are pre-made, so you may have to wait 10-15 minutes. Definitely will be back when temps are warmer and can sit outside.

OK, I'm a native New Yorker, and Pizza is a religion to me. With that said, I may be a little hard on the actual Pizza in a Pizza joint. The place is reallycool. Hipster-ish vibe, great location, awesome throwback toys all over, prices are a lil bit high on certain items($4.99 for a slice of veggie?!?!) but the staff are always chill. Everything I've eaten here has been great. You can only judge pizza by a plain slice. You do know why right??? So you can actually taste the dough, sauce and quality of the cheese :) The sauce has a mild sweetness which I love, but they just can't seem to get consistency out of the dough. Sometimes thin and flimsy/soggy, sometimes too crunchy and charred. The mozz is not of the highest quality, but is just fine for the prices. With the bad stuff out of the way, here's the good. They are open late, have cheap (i.e. 1 frickin dollar!!) beers, and good people. Paired with delivery and the fact that it IS a Pizza joint, and Jack's serves the purpose better than anything in the area.

very much a dive. for a bunch of people who seem to want to break with norm of society and be alternitve everyone seem pretty cliquey. i would think that the enviroment that jacks seems to promote they would be welcoming to any and everyone . the pizza is really good and it is a cool bar just had a wierd experiance that i wish didnt happen.

Came here for a cheap lunch. $4 pitcher is great. The slice tasted good, but the wings looked like they shouldn't have been eaten. Alas, they were eaten, but certainly a lowlight of the meal. Will come back for cheap eats. I guess you get what you pay for.

TOP 5 reasons why this place is amazing.. 1. old school arcade games....check 2. $4 pitcher's....check 3. pizza that should be illegal......check 4. condiments for the food are in a LUNCH BOX....check 5. food w/ friends in a uber cool atmosphere....check ........that is all.

I love this place. I usually go at least once a week, its got a great vibe, the food is cheap and tastes great, and the booze is cheap. What more can you ask for?

This is easily the best overall pizza place in Atlanta. You can find better tasting pizza elsewhere, but when you go to a pizza place, you go for things other than pizza. Jack's has adult trivia, cheap ($1 pints of "Old 4th") beer, great cheap pizza ($2.50 for a slice of pepperoni), games on Sundays, and hipsters every single night. I grew up in Atlanta, and every time I get a chance to go home, I head to Jack's in the Old Fourth Ward.

Good service, good pie, great beer selection and pricing, AND we got to avoid the weekend hubub at little five points. Ditto on Zehl V.'s remark...I wish there were some way I could've stolen the 90210 lunch box without feeling guilty!

Big fan of this place for a couple of reasons: 1. walking from my house 2. dollar high life drafts EVERYDAY 3. decent calzones, pizza. Wings are ok, but could be better. Service is good - almost East Atlanta like - but everyone is friendly.

It's all about the adult trivia night on Thursdays and baked wings at Jack's. Had my friends not told me, I would have NEVER guessed that they were baked! I'm the type of girl who gags at even the thought of Baked Lays and other vile derivatives; but these wings were damn tasty, especially considering that they are the "healthier" kind. The hot ones are good, as are the chipotle, but stay away from the lemon pepper. Pizza isn't bad - adequate, but not outstanding, either. Like I said, it's all about the adult trivia and wings. I was mighty glad that my deep love of adult films and not so deep knowledge of illicit drugs translated into real dollars here. Ok, ok. Not so much real dollars, but 1st place gets $30 off of their next bill, 2nd place $20, and 3rd place gets $10. Too bad that they don't ask any questions about gay porn, but one can't have everything. Three and a half stars for Jack's, which is the new Johnny's.

The pizza was awesome, the service was on point, and the beer selection was amazing. Nice little gem tucked away behind the 5 points! They also had the condiments in a 90210 lunch box.. Extra cool points!

Did a "trivia night" at this place, I think it was on a Monday. Yes, trivia..lol. It was my first time and actually it was pretty fun. Although I knew about 10% of the answers, the good folks that invited us were pretty much trivia geniuses...so our team ended up winning...go figure? At any rate, Jack's is dirty, grimy, and relatively small, but on Monday nights I know you can get 1/2 off the wings. They have a variety of flavors ( I even saw a strawberry on there), so you can definitely get your eat on for the cheap there. Apparently they have pretty good pizza (it looked good) too...i recently went back and tried there pretzels (they are known for these too) they were good at the restaurant, but not so good taking them back to the crib and trying to warm them up. I'll definitely go back for the 1/2 off wings...anything else is debatable:)

Used to go here alot but, not much anymore due to crappier service. The past 2 times they have burnt my pizza and took forever to even ask us if we were ready to order.

I had the Hawaiian Pizza. It was hard and rubbery. I usually give people the benefit of the doubt, but the pizza was horrible. I will give them one more try. Maybe they had a bad night.

I like it, stopped in there because I had a craving for NY style pizza because I'm from NY originally and really wanted some home cooking. I love the dark dungeon feel and the lunchbox caddy plus they have Tekken 3. I had the pepperoni slice which was good but was missing a tiny element and that was grease! Yes I said it, NY pizza is pretty cheesy and greasy. The pizza was darn close to the original all it needs its more cheese. There you have it! I will be returning to try out the trivia nights.

I'm giving it a 5 because it does as best job as you can for their category. Their category being a dive that serves food. Their food is actually pretty good, while its not going to touch antico on pizza or Moe's and Joe's on wings (though pretty close), its decent food for cheap prices. Your going to feel out of place here if your up tight. The crowd here is young, usually a couple of tattoos per capata and a bar tender that gives me mustache envy. He kind of looks like Billy Crudup in Almost famous. Anyhow If your old or uptight you'll probably hate this place. This place is super cheap, I mean $10 buckets of terrapin (5 count), 4$ PBR pitchers, 4$ wings on Mondays, 4$ slices of huge pizza. Their wings are pretty good, their baked and somewhat healthy. The chipotle flavor is my favorite and one of a kind Delicious. With the wings being baked they slide right off the bone. They also have some other unusual flavors, cinnamon and strawberry. Never tried those but laugh at the thought. Their side salads are pretty good, and the pizza rolls are great. Their shot menu is always hilariously inappropriate. You'll find me here on Mondays at trivia trying to come up with the most inappropriate name possible. I find Jack's one of my most adored dive bars in Atlanta. Final thoughts: Pros: Food Cheap Patio Shot menu Good Service Cons: Crappy TVs

Went to Jack's for the first time about a month ago and I really enjoyed the vibe. A bunch if us sat on a long couch around a large table. Much better for that many people than standard chairs and tables. Drink prices were good. Didn't have any food so I cant comment on that. The lunch boxes were a neat touch. Everyone had a good time and if I am ever in Atlanta on the weekend again soon I will go to Jacks!

The food was okay, but the service was almost nonexistent. I'm not saying the service was bad; there simply wasn't enough of it. Some customers want a second or third beer when they visit a bar, and when I finished my first beer ten minutes after arriving, I expected to be able to order another--not so. Our waitress disappeared and allowed at least three tables to look around for her, wondering if only regulars got the good service. At the 70 minute mark, my priority shifted from ordering a second beer and perhaps more food to just paying and leaving. By 90 minutes, I felt like I should (and could, easily) have just walked out without paying. The food was good, but not worth my time. An hour and a half for one beer and a slice of "B-" pizza? My advice to Jack's is to make it a priority to be really good at what you do before cultivating "attitude".

I had not been to Johnny's in a few years. They opened one while I was in high school up in Marietta and it was a fun place to go. A few of us were pretty hungry and it was pretty late (around 12:30-1) so there were not many choices. My friend suggested Johnny's and I was excited because I had not been in awhile and I had fond memories. It had good atmosphere, and a full bar. That was something I did not notice back in high school;) For most of my life I only liked plain cheese pizza but recently I have been experimenting, especially with bacon. Bacon is good on everything. So I ordered a slice of cheese and a slice with bacon on it. Now most places I have been to around here but bacon bits on their pizza which is still good but Johnny's puts full strips of bacon! I was very delighted and it was delicious. Good flavor, good crust, and cooked fresh. As far as drinks go, I make a point to always try and taste local brews and Johnny's own brew was pretty good and only $2 for a glass. They also have a full bar and a decent beer selection including a favorite of mine, Sweetwater Blue. I really cannot say anything bad about this place. Great food, great drinks, very reasonably priced, and open late!

$1 High Life pints... Enough said Food is meh, I hate that they dont fry their wings. Their slices are pretty good. But the only reason my buddies and I go there is for the $1 beers and $3 eye of the tiger shots.

Scoutmob brought me here and this place is exactly what you would expect from a dive bar pizza joint. The pizza and wings are pretty good and the beer is cheap. I wouldn't mind going back there.

Hmmm. I rarely find a place where I say, "Man, the wings here are good!" Or, for that matter, do I find a place where the wings aren't pretty much the same as I can get anywhere else. Jack's is different. Wings are very good and better than in most other places - except for the ones that come out of my oven, which are better than everyone's. They were also able to accommodate about 20 of us when we came in unannounced (I was in Michelle A.'s group. See her review here. I pretty much concur with everything she said!)

Oh yeah. This place is divey yet unpretentious and I love it. The crowd was very diverse the afternoon I went with the GF. Kate, our waitress, was cool and offered some great insight in helping us select the perfect pizza for our current mood. Going back soon (who doesn't like $1 draft beer).

It's been a while since I've been here of course but the times I visited only left me with memories of lackluster service and "the little hold out my hand and rock it left to right thing while making an ehhhh sound" pizza. I don't expect a blowjob or anything from the waitstaff but for the love of god please show that you care. please...sniff

I'm sorry, Johnny's, but I did not have the same great experience as the rest of the Yelpers here... I have seen Johnny's ordered by friends many times and finally decided to check it out. I'm sorry to say this is the worst pizza I can remember having, pretty much ever. Except for maybe Pizza Hut. Based on other results, I'm guessing we may just have gotten a bad pie, but here's what was up: - Thin, thin crust - it was more like a flatbread than a pizza - My side salad tasted dirty/earthy, like maybe they didn't wash the mushrooms or something - Our waitress took our order, walked away, came back about 30 seconds later and didn't remember a thing we had ordered - She never returned to ask if it was good (they never do when I actually have a complaint!) - The toppings were horribly distributed - my bf's provolone was just a slice laid on top that only covered a portion of the slice instead of being spread around This is a cool looking neighborhood joint and I really wanted to like it - but I couldn't even eat the salad and the pizza was not even average. If I give it another try, I will update my review, but I don't know if I'll be back with other alternatives so close by!

The best thing about Jack's is the staff. They're beautiful, awesome, fun, and sweet. Next up is the food. Their calzones are the bomb. Try one with smoked chipotle added. O.M.G, yo, for reeeealz. And unlike someone else posted, I actually love that their wings are baked and not fried. I'm no health-nut but some baked lemon-pepper wings make me feel less guilty about the ton of beer I just chugged. My least favorite thing about the place is the other customers. They're just your average, blah, take-em-or-leave-em hipsters with a side of yuppies from the surrounding apartments.

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
