While traveling on business this week, I was staying in Midtown - Atlanta, GA. A co-worker recommended Dantanna's for a cold beer & a great meal. He's been working in the area (CNN garage) & said the place is great. Now for the review: We parked at the CNN parking garage & walked across the street to the CNN building. Dantanna's is located on the ground floor inside. It was around 6:45 pm & upon arrival we were greeted by 2 happy hostesses ... They offered us a table or the bar. We chose the bar as we wanted to hang & socialize. The restaurant was a very large space & was partially crowded. Mainly the bar was packed but not many tables were occupied. We were greeted by Brittany - a cute lil' bartender who had a great personality. I asked about the bourbons & she plopped a menu down in front of me that had at least 8 or 10 listed. They at sulky had Jefferson which I've never had before ... So I ordered it & it was delicious. It's very, very small batch & pricey ($13 / glass). Shortly after receiving our drinks Ebony checked in on us. We asked for menus & found the selection to have a ton of appetizers, salads, sandwiches, aged black angus steaks, burgers & house specialties. I was torn between the Scallop & Shrimp Risotto or the Wasabi Tuna Steak .... While sipping my bourbon & contemplating the menu, we ordered the sesame steak skewers w/ aioli - delish! They had great flavor & were prepared medium rare. I asked Brittany what she'd recommend between the 2 & it was the Tuna. I ordered it rare along w/ broccoli & garlic sautéed spinach. Let me just say, I order Tuna a few times a month when dining out .... I really have to compliment the fishmonger & the exec chef - WOWZA! It was prepared perfect & was topped w/ sliced shiitake mushrooms & lump crab meat. This was probably the BEST tuna I've ever had!! Portion was huge (10 - 12 oz) & was so tender & flavorful! The broccoli was ok - fresh & cooked right but just warm ... Spinach was tasty but I couldn't finish the sides because I ate every bite of the Tuna!! We stuck around for another hour & chatted amongst ourselves. Our service was fine - not too sparse but not hovering either. Others around us seemed to have a slight problem getting attention but ours was perfect. Overall, a very cool location ... Atmosphere is comfy & spacious w- lots of bar room & enough big screen TV's to be able to checkout a few different games. I would definitely come back next time I'm in the area. Four (4) Stars!

No AC and stuffy. We had a 10% off "all food" voucher from Omni hotel next door. Waiter took the voucher which we handed before ordering, and never applied to the bill. Had all kind of excuses ... it's only "during certain times", etc. Nope. Finally we got the manager and it was applied after he first degraded us for "feeling such a thing is important". Yes. It's important. And Omni should know you are trying to stiff people they are referring to you! Low class operation disguised as high end eatery.

I came here after the Falcons game on a Sunday. Taco Mac is next door but we wanted to try something new. Dantana's is an upscale sports bar and they have plenty of TV's showing all the games. We decided to sit at the bar. The seats were comfortable and the bartender introduced himself and the other one. I enjoyed sitting at the bar and chit chatting with the bartenders and servers. I ordered a Whiskey Sour and it was delicious. Definitely made correctly if you know what I mean ;-) We had a great view of all of the games. I ordered the Philly Ribeye Cheesesteak for dinner with broccoli and cheese as a side instead of fries. Both my sandwich and the broccoli were great. The prices are higher than most sports bars, but this place is nicer than other sports bars. I still think it is reasonable. I would definitely stop by here again before or after a game.

Was recently here for the Primerica Convention and stopped by for a quick drink with a friend. We actually had the mild wings which were anything but mild wo0o0o0 those were hot I don't even want to imagine what the other spicier would have tasted like. Had some tequila shots and those are always great, The service was cool.

When you go to a steakhouse and ask the bartender what the best thing is on the menu, and he names three things that aren't steaks, that's a sign. The food is very, remarkably similar to airline food. The Bavarian pretzels are rock hard. Obviously microwaved too death. The chicken nachos are served cold, and if you don't mind cold food you probably still couldn't get past the flavor. I'm sooooo glad I didn't waste my money on a filet here and read between the lines of the bartenders response. Dantanna's belongs in a microwave-only establishment in a shit terminal of Hartsfield-Jackson. And even then, relative to its neighbors, I might give it 2 stars. Avoid.

Ordered the Philly cheesesteak it was just ok, nothing special as I have had better at cheaper places. Also ordered the salmon and was two stars, very plain. The best part of the meal was the fries and pickle

We went a while back and thoroughly enjoyed our food and experience. Nice and laid back interior with a high dining feeling to it mixed with a classy sports bar. Our favorite was the spinach and trout. How tasty! Our service was decent, though I did have to flash our waitress down for a refill on my ice water. Overall I would return here and will venture to try other menu items. I recommend this to anyone in the area or near the area for a concert or what have you.

Regardless of whether food is edible or the service is decent, the floors and menus are grimy and the food takes more than an hour to arrive. It wasn't that busy the Saturday lunch we stopped in but no one had food.

Food was good. Nice variety on menu. Shrimp were delicious. Good place to watch games, some tables have private tvs. Parking can be tricky but there are plenty of parking lots in the area.

I am surprised that Dantanna's Downtown does not have a higher rating on Yelp. I was in the neighborhood during the World Cup final, and another establishment I had planned on visiting was too crowded, so I came here. It was a really good decision. First of all, one can see that they put a lot of thought into making the layout and design of the restaurant conducive to watching sports events while dining or drinking. The seating is extremely comfortable at the bar, unlike many other sports bars, and the screens are super excellent. They have one very large screen playing the key event and possibly about eight other smaller screens playing other events. The screens are well positioned behind the bar, far enough away from the seats that patrons can easily take in views from multiple screens without any strain. Thus, I was easily able to keep up with a Braves game while also watching the World Cup on the big screen. The screens are also really super high definition, with very clear and crisp pictures. The food, though, is what really puts this restaurant over the top. I ordered the organic chicken breast sandwich that has apples, brie cheese, spinach, and caramelized apples. The sandwich was excellent, very moist and with a distinctive taste from the relatively unusual combination of ingredients. What I liked was that they took a staple of sports bar cuisine, a chicken sandwich, and made it distinctive with out of the ordinary ingredients. I got the potato salad instead of fries, and it was just perfect. The beers on tap are not super extensive in quantity, but the quality of their offerings was quite good. I ordered a stout whose name I forget, and it was outstanding. The service was quite good, and while prices were higher than a typical sports bar, I would not say they were out of order, and the quality of the food and overall experience made it worth it to spend a couple extra dollars on a sandwich. I definitely recommend coming here if you want to watch a game and also have a meal that's a cut above what you'll find in most sports bars.

3 starving kids and 2 adults in want of food and an adult beverage, we stumbled upon this restaurant in the CNN center building to get out of the cold weather. Beautiful dark woods and tiled floors, give this place a very upscale feel. Bar area in front is nice (entrance through the food court area of CNN center) hostess stand is in the middle of the restaurant, which makes the layout a little odd. Amble table seating, out of the way of moving traffic. Nice horse shoe shaped booth tables are also available. Back end of the restaurant had another much much larger bar area. With tons of seating. Mostly at high top tables. But it's still seating. Instead of waiting for the 45 min wait for a table, we instead decided to eat in the back bar area. Huge screen TV above the bar, with 2 smaller tv's on either side. Loved this lay out. Made the atmosphere, more along the lines of an upscale sports bar. Great selection of draft beers, full service wet bar. They had a kids menu, that served a good sized portion of food. We were able to share the scallop and red pepper linguine. One of the kiddos got the garlic mashed potatoes, huge serving, so we were all able to taste them. If it is one of your options for a side, try it. Delicious!! Dessert was creme brulee, wow!! Kids meal comes with ice cream sandwich. Krispy Kreme bread pudding, was a must try!!! Can't wait to come back to Atlanta to try this place out again!!

Had lunch here with our family today and it was good. Loved that they had all organic options for meat. Good beer selection. Al around good. Was very surprised for the venue that it was so tasty. Seems like most places in that high volume area just have mediocre food because they know they have the volume.

Really weird setup, but ok service and good food. It's like an upscale sports bar, with nicely tiled floors and dark wood everything. We came here after the Outkast show and were really surprised that it wasn't already packed. We saw a country concert get out at the same time and still, it wasn't crazy. After you find were to get someone to help you, it isn't so bad. I don't like sports bars because I can look at tv and eat at home. It's sooo distracting! I will say the fish and chips were delicious and well prepared. My friend liked her chicken as well. I guess if youre a man...or a sports fan you'd really enjoy this place.

It's a pretty solid sports bar in Atlanta. Decent service and decent food. The crab and artichoke dip was delish, but the burgers were pretty typical. I had The Heart Attack, and true to its name, I did feel mildly like I might suffer a heart attack after eating it. ;) A fine establishment to try if you're in downtown Atlanta.

This particular Dantanna's is located within the CNN center so it definitely gets busy during lunch and dinner due to surrounding businesses and tourism. I had the chance to dine here with a friend for lunch. We stuck with the 1/2 soup 1/2 sandwich off the $10 lunch special. 1/2 She-Crab Soup: This soup was very creamy and rich. It was okay, but wasn't as flavorful as I expected. Had to add some pepper. 1/2 Grilled Salmon B.L.F.G.T. (Atlantic salmon, fried green tomatoes, applewood smoked bacon & lettuce on toasted honey wheat bread with roasted garlic aioli): My friend had this and I took a bite. It was delicious. I could definitely do without the fried green tomatoes, but it added a tart. 1/2 Dantanna's "Freuben" (Fried, blackened, or grilled tilapia, cabbage slaw, Swiss cheese & Russian dressing on grilled rye): I ordered this sandwich with the blackened tilapia because I wanted some flavor and a little kick. Unfortunately, it was a miss because the cabbage slaw and Russian dressing was a little overpowering. Probably a better idea to stick with either fried or grilled tilapia. This place was very clean and service was exceptional. They have a full bar, patio seating, and private dining rooms. Entrees cited from dantannas.com/wp-content…

Came here for lunch on two occasions, both times the food was well received by the whole group. There is ample bar seating if you are going to just watch a game and a separate group seating room fro larger parties. The bartenders were friendly and they have an extensive selection of craft bottles and a decent selection of draughts including local and seasonal offerings. The menu was typical modern-american gastropub style. The burgers are good as well as the salad. For those of you not counting calories (or counting on a heart disease-free life) they have "The Heart Attack Burger", a burger with 2 grilled cheese sandwiches, bacon, fried onions, & fried egg. Especially for its surroundings (CNN Center), Dantanna's stands out as a nice, casual sit-down option among the sea of food-court style dining.

Before going to see Kevin Hart at Phillips Arena last night, our group decided to eat at Dantanna's inside the CNN building. None of us had previously gone there. The ambiance was unempressive, rather plain. The service was slow and not on point, the wait for food was way too long and they were not crowded. One person rib-eye was under cook, another person's was over cook and dry (they are supposedly a steak house). The manager came to inquire about the complaint, and compensated a mad five dollars off of our bill. Needless to say, we won't be going back.

Very slow service. Don't come here. We decided to eat here before a concert and we got there at 5:30 for an 8PM show. We waited about 30 minutes to be seated. When we finally got seated our waiter came out, gave us menus, and took our drink order. I thought I was going to dehydrate waiting on the drinks (bad sign). Another one of the wait staff stopped by to ask what we were waiting for, and she went and got our waiter. It went like that for the rest of our dinner and we made it to the show just in time to go grab our seats before it started. On top of that, I posted to Facebook we were there and had a friend PM me to tell me to pay with cash or a credit card - she is a fraud investigator at a bank and they were investigating their other location.

The J/J Burger Tour was here a couple of times recently and always enjoys it. Dantanna's is a really busy place on any event at Philips Arena, or when I always went ta hockey game. They have a good atmosphere here, plus good service and food. Get in early for any event and you should be fine, but if you're the type I hate, which is....showing up late or one minute before the movie/show starts, then you'll wait. And I'll eat while making fun of you. Lots of things on the menu, so let's go over the burger. The Jimmy the Greek! Lamb, baby! Had lamb lately? Go ahead and try it. With sun dried tomatoes and house made dry rub. Served with goat cheese and roasted garlic aioli. WOW. Great flavor, plus a big thumbs up for throwing the typical burger a curveball. How 'bout one of my all time faves? The Cuban sandwich? This place does it right. One of the best I've had in a while.

Food isn't great. Ordered three appetizers, wings, pretzel and chicken nachos. All were mediocre at best. For a steakhouse, the bartender didn't recommend a steak when asked what was best on the menu. Disappointed and will have to eat somewhere else.

We went to Dantanna's on the recommendation of an Uber driver we had during our weekend trip to Atlanta recently. Overall, I'd say it's a pretty solid sports bar. Their crab and artichoke dip was FANTASTIC, which bumps them up to a four-star rating, though the chicken caesar wrap I had was rather underwhelming (especially following such great dip), which prevents me from bumping them to five stars. The decor is standard sports bar decor, and the service was fine. Overall, not a bad place for lunch.

  • Megan P.

Ok so I'm only giving it 2 stars because I'm in with love the staff and as someone in the business, I feel their pain. But this was a total shit show. It's a weekend of cheer madness with over 75,000 spectators, participants and whatnot...and they KNOW it's been coming we've been at this for years. Hey owners, managers...get a clue. Don't leave your people high and dry. You suck. That is all.

I loved the she crab soup and salmon BLT. I have been eating at Dantanna's for years and the food is always good. The burgers, salads, and turkey meatloaf are awesome. Eating at Dantanna's is always an easy choice when I am at CNN Center. The prices are also very reasonable.

Every year I attend a large conference at World Congress Center. I must take some responsibility, I forget year how much I don't like this place. Yesterday, at this annual conference I finish class about 11:15 and ran to Dantannas to get a table. The place looked as if it had just opened and was mostly empty. I was maybe 18 in line, have my name even offered to sit outside. After waiting 25 min!! Finally seated. Our service was very good, the food very very mediocre. My turkey sandwich and tea =16+ tip. The sandwich bread was toasted so hard it was in edible. Turkey had no condiments, I thought it was to be served heated to melt cheese ?! Others at my table were Aldo under whelmed for the $$. Did I mention this is one of the few options for sit down dinning at CNN center! I trust yelp and used it twice while at this convention, I didn't heed others warnings and it cost me$$$$ and two meals I could've had elsewhere. The best part of this meal was my iced tea. Take that at true face value!

Atmosphere: Found in the CNN center, it's a nice place to eat while sightseeing in downtown ATL. Appetizers and Sides: We had the goat cheese with baguettes which was quite good. The marinara sauce was delicious. The mac n cheese was not that great. It tasted like it was made of mayo rather than cheese. Entrees: I had the Creekstone Farms Black Angus burger which was delicious. The risotto was not bad either. I loved the fact that Creekstone is HALAL! Yippie! Service: Good attentive service

    (4)
  • Kurt N.

I had the lamb burger and it was quite good. The place was completely dead on a Saturday night as they are clearly geared to the convention guest, not the local. Be prepared to take MARTA or pay $10 for parking on a cheap day. The food is definitely on the pricy side for Atlanta as a whole, but not bad for downtown. If you're eating downtown, it's a good choice if you want real food.

Incredibly busy place. We were told it would be 45 minutes wait, after over an hour I went to the hostess. They obviously had skipped over us and they seated us right away. Server was cordial but scarce. My $36 8oz filet ordered med rare arrived well done. Returned and waited and waited for replacement. When it arrived it was cooked properly but not a good cut, kinda gnarly but flavorful. They have a number of seasonings and sauces to add, but the server never offered them. The only real sitdown place in CNN Center should do a better job. Ordered the Dragons Milk beer and it was served in a bottle with no glass. Not the kind of beer you drink right from the bottle. I told the server i thought it was draft and he said no, even though I witnessed a bartender serving it on tap. In all very disappointed start to finish. When we finally got seated the wait was 2 hours, definitely not worth it, eat in the food court instead. And to top it off, when I got the check, both steaks were on there! No apology.

I definitely enjoyed my meal here. However, The waiter was super dry and definitely not personable. He dropped the wrong check and didn't even mention the mistake until after he swiped the card! Wasn't even offered decent. Food was delicious but the service was blah. Not sure if I will be back

  • Liv A.

I was in the ATL for a business trip. Came here for dinner one evening bc I was staying at the Omni and Dantanna's was right downstairs. I sat inside at a booth, although they have a nice outside seating area. The waiter was very hospitable. I ordered the filet mignon. It came with 2 sides, so I picked the blue cheese mashed potatoes and asparagus. The filet mignon was cooked exactly as I had ordered it and was quite good. The sides were filling. I was pretty full but wanted to try the chocolate bourbon pie, so I ordered it to go. Had it later that night for dessert....boy did that pie have a lot of boubon in it....and I mean that in a good way!

A big, fat "meh". Terrible Caesar dressing, terrible chicken salad, stale bread, mediocre service, HOT INSIDE. Skip it. Being the only "nice" sit down restaurant in the area must mean you can be mediocre and get away with it. Bland and boring.

  • Tilia M.

If you're planning on visiting anything around the CNN Center (in my case, it was Phillip's Arena for a Dream basketball game) Dantanna's may be a spot to stop if you'd rather real food instead of any of the many fast food places in the open eatery area. My friend and I tend to get the same thing whenever we go; she gets the gumbo, I get the she crab soup. Both are really, really tasty. The gumbo is pretty classic, has andouille, but little to no seafood. This particular location's gumbo, though, is really, really thick. I mean, you can eat it with a fork - thick, so, beware of that. The she crab soup is sweet and creamy and filling. I usually can get a bowl of that, and not have anything else. Its that hearty. Soup from here, a beer (or some Tito's vodka) and a little football on a Sunday, and I'm happy.

I've been here a couple of times because it is conveniently located to the convention center. I would say it is good, but not great. First, I understand that I was a party of one, but if I had wanted to sit in the bar I would have gone to the bar. Second, just because I didn't order alcohol at lunch doesn't mean I should be ignored. Their service is good but not great. This is really a place to eat because it is convenient not because it is delicious.

While in Atlanta for a conference, I ate here with my coworkers. It was close to the conference and definitely busy. The wait staff and manager were great. As busy as it was, they were extremely attentive. I ordered fish and chips. The fish was extremely greasy. I also ordered hush puppies. They didn't taste like any hushpuppy I have ever had. They were awful! It seems like they tried to elevate the hushpuppy with drizzled sauce and bacon bits. It didn't work. My coworkers ordered salads and they enjoyed those.

I found myself in downtown Atlanta on a Sunday looking for a place to eat and catch the football games. After getting a few recommendations I ended up at Dantanna's Downtown within the CNN center. - 25 TVs - Personal booths with TV - Great customer service - Drink specials - Full bar I sat down with three games up in front of me and soaked in the goodness that is American Football. I took a peak at the menu and then decided to see what the server recommended. He said the Dantanna's "freuben" was his favorite so I ordered up. What a great choice! The Dantanna's "freuben" ($10) came with grilled tilapia, cabbage slaw, swiss cheese & russian dressing on grilled rye. This sandy was packed with flavor and for the price, filled my growling belly to the brim. There was so much extra flavor jammed in with the slaw, I haven't tried anything like it before. This placed is jammed with TV's with all of the Sunday games playing and they even had booths with personal TV's to sit and watch what you'd like in private (kinda). The server was great at keeping my drink glass fill and a good time was had by all.

The space was nice enough with the small crowd and tv's at every booth, but the food was extremely bland and overpriced.

  • Lamont S.

Don't bother is all I have to say!!! Good ambiance overall, nice bar plenty of tv's even in the booth and that's the one star. Visiting from out of town with girlfriend and walked in sat down, and we were greeted with I need to see ID if you plan on drinking!! WTF, holly crap batman!!! We hadn't even been handed a menu. That was strike one. Whitney the bartender then told us they don't serve frozen drinks. Strike two people. It's 2013 what bar in the good ole USA doesn't have a blender?? The food wasn't bad. I had beer battered shrimp, mashed potatoes, and asparagus. The bartender's indifferent attitude killed the mood. Strike three. Bottom line is if your a draft/bottled beer and shot person try your luck. However, if you're like me, and like a personable bartender who is polite and willing to shake you up a good tasting drink while you eat and watch the sporting events skip this place.

    (1)
  • Frank G.

Probably the nicest destination in Atlanta's CNN center. They were slammed due to the Monday Night Football crowd, but seemed to be handling it pretty well. I'll check out the menu the next time I'm around.

Nice atmosphere, good place to watch the game. Bartenders were very friendly. Bourbon pecan cake was delicious.

  • Danny L.

Dantanna's is a good place downtown to enjoy games and get something to eat. Food is well above average sports-bar food. The bartender was attentive and kept us with drinks throughout the game - and was able to get the TV directly in front of us changed to our game of choice. The goat cheese appetizer was very good and the wings (yes they are very spicy) were delicious.

  • Mark J.

This place was pretty good. We went during lunch and it was super busy. The server was nice but pretty frazzled. We started with a crab dip which was surprisingly delicious (I was skeptical). I had the roast turkey sandwich which had a really tasty special sauce on it with a really great (and huge) side of potato salad. Then we ended it all with a peach crisp which was quite solid. The weird thing about this place was halfway through the meal, the server tried to tell us about this new electronic service they would be offering. She asked us to sign up for it on our iPhones and told us that you could request things from the server if she wasn't around. You could also pay your credit card check with it. And if you are a return customer, you would even be able to reorder what you ate last time. It was a but awkward when she explained this, and then followed uo with us about it as well---kind of over-pressured us. And then finally told us she got $100 if she wins her contest. Haha. Kind of a weird service that makes the server a bit obsolete, but I guess that is the direction we're headed with technology, right? Anyway, this is a cool place to go chill out have some decent food, and watch a game.

My mom and I ate here after the P!nk concert, and both of us felt as if it was the best meal we had eaten all year!!! We had the top sirloin (cooked to perfection), braised kale (delish!!!) & garlic mashed potatoes. Everything was wonderful! The White Russians were also made very well and the alcohol content was not skimpy at all!! I would eat here again in a heartbeat! Compliments to the chef!

Worst food and customer service in Atlanta. There is nothing fancy or nice about this place. For the price, you do not get what you deserve in terms of customer service and food. Understandable that the place was busy, but to question us about why our food tasted so bad and the outrageous 12$ for 6 pieces of shrimp served over a lettuce lead is ridiculous. Will NEVER be coming back to this place and I'd recommend the same for whoever reads this. Perfectly content with the Taco Mac next door, priced less and the food actually tastes good.

Great Up Scale sports bar in the heart of Down Town. This sports bar is located inside the CNN center and in walking distances to Philips arena and the GA dome. I usually stop by before or after a Hawks or Falcons game. Since the food court in the CNN center food court and taco mac is full. The food is miles a way from your typical sports bar. I have tried there fried shrimp and fries. Wow. I have never tasted fresh seafood . They also have a great selection of draft beers and wines. Word t advice you will get better service if you sit at one of the two bars!!

Came here after the TechEd conference on Wednesday for their happy hour. They don't offer any beer specials like Taco Mac, but they do offer some food specials. I did enjoy their beef sliders and buffalo wings. The beer menu is decent, but for drafts I would go to Taco Mac, as they have over 130 beers on tap.

This review is solely based on food. The service was excellent despite how crowded they were. I ordered the fish and chips which is apparently a house specialty. When I opened the box (I got it to go) I could see that the crust on the fish was already soggy even though I'd only walked a few feet to my destination. The fries were flavorful but also soggy. When I tried the fish it was flavorless. The fish didn't taste like fish and the batter had no flavor at all. Neither lemon or salt or ketchup could help it. It came with a spicy remoulade but since I'm allergic to peppers I didn't eat it. I can only assume that the sauce is what saved the dish. But if your dish can't stand on it's own without a side sauce it shouldn't be on your menu. So 1 star for the dish And 4 stars for the service.

I went here for dinner last night while working an event in the attached Omni. The place was clearly busy and I work in the restaurant industry so I was prepared to wait and be very patient. We decided to sit at the bar. We sat there for about 10 minutes before even being acknowledged. I saw how busy the bar was so I could understand but the female bartender literally passed us 5 times without even a smile, or I'll be with you shortly. Eventually she went to the guy next to us to give him a refill and he actually asked her to help us b/c we were waiting.(and no we weren't sitting there complaining about it or anything either) Her response "yes I see them, but what would you like" still no "i'll be right there", Hi how are ya, NOTHING! so then she came back took our drink order, 2 glasses of wine came back pretty quick asked for menus which we got and literally didn't see her again for at least 20 minutes.Well we saw here because seh kept walking back and forth helping everyone else, drink orders food orders everything. Now again I knew they were busy but after we got our menus another person sat down, got a menu and got food delivered before our bartender even came to take our order. We were on a break so we figured out what we wanted pretty quickly and put our menus down so she knew we were ready. Being in the restaurant industry for so long I'm not the type of person so say anything when I get this kind of service or lack there of. By the time she came to take our meal order we had to just say nevermind and ask for a check b/c we understood they were busy and it would probably take at least 30 minutes for our food, that would have been perfectly fine if we hadn't already had been there for half an hour. We ended up eating in the adjacent food. Nothing like Riesling & taco bell. Oh and I may be nitpicking but I've literally never seen this, after we paid and finished up our glasses of wine she took our napkins from under our glasses(clearly used) and put them back in the holder for the next customer.. AMAZING!! Literally the worst experience I've ever had.

Came here to eat before a Thrashers game since Taco Mac was packed with a wait. I'm glad that I could try this place out since I've never been here before. After ordering a round of beer and having our server uncomfortably try to up-sell us We ordered the mussel appetizer, a spinach salad, the Rueben, the Frueben (fish rueben) and a wedge salad. Everything was great except the wedge salad was confusingly small. Since it was our first time we thought that was just the way it came, but the table next to us ordered the same thing later and their portion was a normal-sized quarter of a lettuce head. About half way through we had an extra person join us and he ordered a burger. We waited 45 minutes for him to receive his meal and then he had to scarf it down so that we didn't miss the puck drop. I'm pretty sure this happened because they were much busier when he arrived then when we had first sat down. So, overall, I'm giving it 2 stars when it's busy and 3 when it's not. It was pretty clear that once they fill up service and ticket times really suffer.

Great food, bad service. Waited almost an hour for appetizer. Entrees arrived 2 minutes later. Nothing comped, no manager apology. Cocktails empty while we waited. Won't be back.

A nice quick place for lunch across the street from the convention center. Very attentive wait staff who were quick to refill drinks and water. I got the crab cake sliders and fries. They came out quick and delicious. Place was clean and full of tv's to catch you up on any game/news.

I came here after leaving the GA Dome. I was starving for some real food and this was the first place my group stumbled upon. It has a great location for anyone attending the GA Dome or staying at the Omni. I had the chicken sandwich with avocado and it was DELICIOUS. My friends had the egg rolls as an appetizer and I loved them. The reason I only gave them 3 stars is the service was very slow and felt like they were hiding from us. It was almost impossible to flag anyone down for drink refills or more orders.

Having just checked into the Omni Hotel and starving to death, I walked to the Food Court area in the CNN center and found Dantanna's. It's an upscale sports bar with a cool vibe and smart looking people walking around...probably CNN employees. Besides barbecue, I always enjoy eating wings when I'm in the Southeast and Dantanna's serves great wings. I washed it down with some Sam Adams Octoberfest draft. This place was a cool place to hang out with plenty of TVs in the bar area. Bathroom was clean.

Really SLOW service! Stopped here for drinks with some friends after leaving a conference that was taking place at the conference center across the street. It took our waiter FOREVER to take our orders and also bring back our food and drinks. The pros: The queso dip was good and drinks were decently priced. They also have a patio which was really appreciated on the beautiful day that we were hanging out. I wouldn't make a special trip here but if you're in the area probably good for a quick meet-up or drink.

Just stopped in for food before yesterday's Falcon's game. The bar was full, but the wait for seating was only 20 minutes, which isn't bad when the Taco Mac next door had a 45-60 minute wait. Our waitress was friendly and helpful, and the crab artichoke dip was great (lots of crab meat). The food isn't cheap, but it's a great pre-game alternative to the not-so-appealing food options at the stadium. They're very particular about how they cook their burgers, which means that the cooking time is longer than most places (get an appetizer if you're starving!). The two burgers at our table looked good and were cooked to the perfect color. There are also plenty of tvs, so we didn't have a problem watching several different while we waited for a table and while we ate.

Eat there this past Thursday on a business lunch. I got really sick that night and all the next day from the food. There was an odd taste when I was eating. I would definitely not recommend this restaurant.

Poor management but great food. After walking around for hours at a convention my group of 5 was tired, hungry, and looking forward to a great meal. We arrived around 12:30p on a slow convention day and the place was full but only just full. There were a few people waiting in front of us (no parties over 4) and we were told 20 minutes. Fair enough. Now for a place that caters to tired conventioneers, the restaurant has maybe 4 chairs for people to sit when waiting for a table. We had to stand huddled-together next to the host while waiters and patrons bustled back and forth past us. After 40 minutes we asked what was going on. Apparently, they were waiting for 1 of the 6 booths to open up which hold more than 4 people. In the meantime, dozens of tables that could have easily been put together for us were given to other people. The last straw, after 50 minutes, was when they seated a table of 8 that came well after us into a couple of tables that they rigged for them while still making us wait. I was ready to walk out when they finally put a couple of tables together and seated us. Once seated, we quickly ordered and the poor management continued, this time back of the house. Instead of serving us all together, the meals came out piece-mail. One of my colleagues wasn't served for 10 minutes after everyone had received their entrees and it was wrong. The only reason this restaurant got any stars from me was the food I ordered was REALLY good (4 star). The gumbo was incredible, with the proper heat and a nice serving of spicy Andouille sausage and veggies. My entree was the shrimp and grits which was also outstanding. The grits were perfectly cooked in the same style as a creamy polenta and the shrimp perfectly cooked and seasoned. I'd never had this southern dish before, but I loved it. The hour and 40 minute cost of eating here, though, is too much. They need to find a better way of catering to and managing the convention crowds.

Our concierge at the Ellis Hotel, a lovely woman named Devin, recommended Dantanna's for lunch since we were heading to the CNN Tour in the same building, and gave us a 10% off coupon. Dantanna's is a huge sports bar (many screens, huge room) with pretty good food. We both got the Salad and Sandwich combo for $11 each if I remember correctly, with some surcharge for my lump crab (worth it!) and it was delicious. Then we got the red velvet cheesecake for dessert (see photo) and it turned out to be better than we expected, even for my bf, who does not like cheesecake! I couldn't imagine coming here all the time for an everyday business lunch, but I thought it was the perfect stop for our touristy lunch at the CNN center.

Eat here only if desperate. I found the steak I ordered I could have gotten from 100 other restaurants, but it would have been better at half the price. I found the staff all to be snooty and rude for no reason. If I want to spend this kind of money to eat, why be served bad food by unpleasant people? I'll never go back.

The service was awesome. Our server was fast and informative. If your water was half full she was right there. If you looked in her direction she was at your table in seconds. The food was also very good for the price. That means you are not over-paying for the quality which is good, but it is not a 4 diamond joint. Good ambiance too. Lots of space and airy. Not too loud either when there are lots of people there.

Going to Dantanna's was completely a whim. A friend and I were at CNN center to pick up some Thrasher's tickets on a Saturday afternoon. Both of us had never been so we thought, why not? It was around 3 p.m. and nearly empty. Maybe that was why things weren't so great. First of all, the strange thing about this sports bar/restaurant is that the hostess stand is nearly in the BACK of the place. This makes for some confusing moments for diners who don't know the setup. A couple of people walked in and just seated themselves, not knowing where it was. Someone might want to rethink that. We were seated (once we found the hostess stand) and the waiter was decidedly uninterested in serving us. I don't know if he had a ton of tables somewhere in the place I could not see but his mind wasn't on us. He didn't seem too thrilled when I requested some Splenda. Before ordering, I asked the waiter what they were known for. He explained at length that their burgers and steaks were made from organic, locally-raised beef. So I ended up getting a burger and fries while my friend got a veggie burger with fries. They were both $9 each (without drinks or tax). After waiting a bit longer than I thought it should take, he arrived with our food. I had requested mayo and when he brought it to the table, he saw he'd forgotten it. Took him a while to make it back to us with it. I knew from the first bite that it was disappointing. I had asked for medium and it was more than medium rare. Definitely overcooked and dry. And tasted...odd. It tasted as if someone had dumped some Worcestershire sauce in it and I know that taste because my husband likes to do that. And I don't care for it. I would not get it again. Not good. The fries, while nicely crispy, were way oversalted. And I'm a gal who loves her salt. But this made it difficult to eat and enjoy. My friend thought her veggie burger was good but said it tasted just like a Bocca burger. That's not a bad thing but you'd hope for a little more at a restaurant than a frozen patty. We didn't see much of our waited after this. When we finally did and he brought my friend a Diet Coke refill, he practically threw it on the table. I had the feeling we were kind of imposing on his afternoon. Then there was the wait for the bill, which took quite a while. We would have ordered dessert but he was gone so long we didn't have time (or the desire) to have it. By this time, other people were filtering in to have dinner/drinks before the Thrashers' game. I don't like to think of what kind of service they got. And someone was smoking near the back entrance. Would I go back? Probably not. Too much money for a dried out burger and overly salty fries. And lame service.

I have since been back to Dantana's several more times since I wrote my first review. I have tried a few more items on the menu and some are not bad at all, The Chicken Fried Steak is pretty good. The service had definitely improved since the first few weeks they opened and I'm thinking I'll attribute the poor service in the beginning to growing pains. I'm sure I'll be back here again. SG

Got their cobblers the last two nights because dinner was small. It comes with vanilla ice cream on the side. Very fresh cobblers because they make them everyday.

My co-workers practically live here. So, if I were speaking for them, I'd say it was about a 5 star establishment. But speaking for myself, it's okay, not bad, cool. The most memorable thing about it is how much my intern was in love with the fries. Otherwise, the food was good enough for me to not have complaints, but not so amazing that I needed to talk about it. From two lunch visits, I've had the Asian Chicken and Lump Crab & Fresh Berry Salads. Both were on par with what I've had before and/or expected. They don't have any of the cocktails I prefer, but I'll try not to hold that against them. My favorite part is actually the big screen they have for games, because it seems pretty cool. The place is much bigger than it appears, extending out to the left once you get to the back of the restaurant. And the customer service is always pretty good. Like I said, all and all, not bad.

A new restaurant opened up in the atrium of our office complex. This is exciting because despite what appears to be a large number of options, they are all inevitably terrible and there's never anything to eat. Hence, my love affair with Arby's and their toasted subs. But anyway, this new place called Dantanna's opened and I went there with a couple of people yesterday. I ordered a chicken philly. You know, bread, chicken, cheese, and some onions. Also got a fountain soda. None of this food was covered in truffle oil or caviar. Ate lunch, which was decently tasty, and got my portion of the bill. It was $19 and some change. Eyeballs bug out of head. What? There must be some mistake. I ordered a cockadoody chicken philly, not a diamond tennis bracelet. Turns out that it was a $14 sandwich. Which, in fairness, was on the menu but I forgot to pay attention. I was, after all, ordering a damn sandwich. Anyway, that's my report on Dantanna's. Tasty enough, but overpriced in a truly ghastly way. (My wife wrote this review -- I told her to get her own Yelp account but in the interest of expediency here you go. For what it's worth, I had lunch there a few days ago myself and it was OK, nothing to write home about. Someone else paid though so I was spared the eye-popping bill. Since I work in the same building, I'm sure I'll go back.)

The steaks are good here. The hostess was quite rude as we requested a table but told us that we didn't have enough people(we were one short). If it weren't for the hostess it would have received a four star rating. Our server was great though to set a better tone. She actually let us stay at table we wanted! I would recommend this place after a convention.

I had a dinner here and have mixed feelings, My steak was awesome but the atmosphere was hurried and noisy, which I guess I should expected for a sports bar vibe. The staff was friendly but slow.

Is there ANY type of chain restaurant downtown that isn't just a sanitized, sterile version of the same old same old with a new face? Almost like when you go to an amusement park that has a ton of different venues but it's all the same shit as it's provided by ARA or Sodexo Marriott. I got the same feeling here; it was a sports bar theme, but it could have been a transvestite's cottage or a pirate's treehouse or an Italian villa. Of course, the servers were really excited when they saw my party and I. You could tell as they took forever to come and deal with us (they were probably overcome with anticipation and just forgot to come see us). Moving our collective asses to the bar, we asked our helpful server for drinks and menus. There were three of us. We didn't order booze - just tea and/or water. It took a few tries before our addled friend was able to bring the right combination and deliver to the appropriate destinations. This should have been a signal to us of what was to come. Without going into more details, it was not a very spectacular performance; my wedge salad with a grilled chicken breast came back with a fried one. The 5 minutes to fix it became 10 minutes - I was supposed to be grateful that he gave me a cup of soup to entertain myself during that time.

Was in Atlanta to go to my first NHL Hockey game at Philips Arena and stopped in Dantanna's Downtown since its located in the CNN Center which connects to Philips. We decided to have a late lunch, early dinner. Ordered the Organic Chicken Sandwich which came with Potato Salad as its side. I have to say the Chicken was very good, and it was a big portion. The Potato Salad was also to Die for. I definitely recommend this place for a nice quick sit down lunch or dinner before heading to Philips Arena for a game or concert. Just get there early cause this whole area gets packed before any event.

I liked it! The tomato and goat cheese soup is SUPER yummy btw! Their burgers are really good. I had the asian chicken salad and it was alright. If i were to do it all over again i would have probably went with a giant bowl of that soup hahaha! but everyone in our little group loved their lunch!
