The Pizza here is great. I always get the gluten free stuff and it's really really good. The crust is really thin and crispy and it's a lot like the BEST possible take home pizza you could get from the grocery store. I've had their normal stuff and it's 100x better. They have lots of beer

The L5P location has a pretty good roof top bar and seating area. Pizza is actually tasty and a good variety of options to choose from. I might have to return again and get me one of those large slices.

I've been here a few times before and always had a great service and food. Just left there without eating because the server (shaved head and pink hair) was HORRIBLE. We sat down at two tables put together with 5 people and she wanted us all to squeeze into one table to clean the other one even though it made absolutely no sense. From then on the attitude got worse. She got an attitude when we asked about bacon and threw straws at us. Slammed down beers and the caddy with cheese. We asked for a manager but I guess there isn't one there at midnight. I brought my sister and her friends who are in town for Music a Midtown there and now I'll never go back. We're now sitting at five points pizza where the food is way better and the service doesn't suck.

So I was originally a little bit skeptical of Cameli's. Why? Dunno. Probably because I'm a Fellini's loyalist. Always will be. But I've been to Cameli's twice in recent weeks and I have to say that I'm impressed. My first stop here was prior to a concert. We needed a place to grab a quick bite and pre-game and Cameli's seemed to fit the bill. I ordered a monster slice with way too much stuff on it. But you know what...damn tasty. Who woulda thunk it? The slice was enormous, the crust was tasty, and it was super filling. That constitutes a win in my book. The service was adequate as well. And they get bonus points for having private parking in Little 5. Oh, and how can I forget that divine rooftop patio. My second visit here was another spur of the moment occasion. We were on the way out to party the night away, but doing that on an empty stomach seemed like a terrible plan. As Cameli's was kinda sorta on the way, that was what we decided on. On this occasion, I just didn't want pizza. Actually, I hardly ever want pizza, but that's another story. So I went with the chicken tenders...I know, sacrilege. Whatever. They were good. The honey mustard was tasty and their fries were crispy and salted to perfection. So yeah, I guess I like Cameli's now. Although I stand by the fact that Fellini's is the best drunk / hangover food on earth, Cameli's serves up a fine slice as well. Kudos to you, Cameli's. Kudos to you.

No, the service isn't the best. And no, this isn't the best pizza in the city. But is it the best rooftop bar in close proximity to my house? You betcha. And do they have Fu Manbrew on tap? Correct again. So therefore totally worthy of my 4 star rating. The pizza is fine and satisfies my continuous pizza craving. I like that they have "gourmet" toppings like artichoke hearts and spinach. I like that you can order by the (monster) slice. They've got a decent sized parking lot if you're not in walking distance and a wide variety of goodies on the menu, so even if you're not in a pizza mood (I don't know what that's like), you can nab a pretty solid salad or sandwich. And I love, love, LOVE the rooftop patio. Get on it.

Came in here tonight with friends to play trivia and what a wonderful vibe this place has! It was pretty empty (it was a Thursday night after some storms afterall), but all of the patrons here were fun and personable and made for such a great environment. The staff was great as well! Attentive without being in your face, low-key in the very best way. I had a side of their meatballs - delicious! - and a couple of Guinness drafts. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because the beers were a little on the pricey side (over $6 a piece where most places I find it for around $5). My friends ordered a monster slice and the turkey panini and both said they were delicious. The monster slice is indeed a monster slice! Be hungry when you order it! :) The location is wonderful since you're right in the heart of Little Five Points. The upstairs patio claims to offer great views of the city skyline, but I think it might be better in fall with less trees. Nonetheless, they offer a "best picture" contest that awards folks free Cameli's money for the best pictures taken from there...and that's a fun added bonus. Definitely recommend Cameli's for the atmosphere, the lovely staff, and the delicious food. Come casual, belly up to the bar and chat with the other locals who wander in. If you do and you still have a bad time, it's all on you.

Hey! I'm only reviewing this for the VEGANS out there. I have not had a good slice of pizza in the 3 years that I've been vegan and trust me....I've tried. Cameli's has stolen my heart because they make a vegan pizza that is amazing and because of them....I can now go to pizza joints again (which I had completely given up on). I also hear that they have a vegan calzone....I can't wait to try it! So, for all of you who have no dietary restrictions, this review isn't for you because our palates are clearly different. What I wouldn't give for a regular slice of cheesy pizza....but Cameli's makes me believe I'm no longer missing much! (Disclaimer: I put meat on my pizzas. I only need to avoid milk - i.e. cheese, butter, etc.... so I'm not vegan. But I put vegan in the review because that's what I have to search to find restaurants that have milk free (ie. vegan options). Hope this helps someone!)

This is one of my favorite late night pizza spots to stop in, with those huge famous slices we all crave!!! I usually only stop In late at night but it always tastes so good every time, their slices are very BIG but very thin and they have a unique crust which I am a fan of their pizza style! If your in the area make a stop in and try for yourself, if it's late at night you may catch a glimpse of me enjoying a slice or two upstairs!!!

Absolutely RIDICULOUS delivery service. Staff at the store was unapologetic, rude & disrespectful when we called to find out about our order. Requested discount due to how extremely late the order was, but we were told we were not able to use the discount until our "next" order. That's one discount we will not be using. Unless you like cold pizza, this is NOT the place for you.

After reading some of the reviews I was a little nervous the pizza wouldn't be good. I ended up being pleasantly surprised. I got the monster slice with pepperoni and basil. It was HUGE and super delicious. My friend got the #5 pizza and said hers was amazing as well. The Caprese salad was a great appetizer. I love tomatos. They have $5 Sangria everyday so I tried it--not bad. It was a gorgeous day so we sat on the rooftop. It has a great view and well I just like rooftops. The service was great too. It was my first time there and the server answered all of my questions and made recommendations. I can't wait to go back. I went on a Saturday evening. I originally planned to have a few drinks and hang out for a while since they don't close until around 2 but my visit was cut short. We were sitting right next to the band and the lead singer was very pitchy....like seriously screaming into the mic lol. At first I thought it was karaoke but when she kept singing I realized it wasn't. We couldn't handle it for long so we got the check and went somewhere else. I guess that's my only complaint. Parking is free in the back of the restaurant.

  • Tiffany B.

The pizza is really yummy! Sauce is good. Crust is thin. Not the best flavor crust but the flavor of the pizza makes up for that. Service was good. I sat on the rooftop and the view was great. They also stay open until 2:30am on Saturdays which is great. Oh and the Jalapeño Margarita was good!!! I enjoyed this place and will definitely be back. My only reccomendation is to find better bands for the weekend. The one on my first visit was not all that great. Kinda killed the vibe. And I was not alone in these thoughts. Not to be mean but hopefully they screen better bands or solo musicians other weekends. This was my first visit but as I said I will be back. Good place. Nice vibe.

There was a time when Fellini's ruled the world of "pizza-by-the slice". Atlanta has found it's new king in Cameli's "Monster Slice". Comparing apples-to-apples: Cameli's has a better slice of cheese on its own. Giant, foldable slices that are thin enough to eat without utensils and a crust that is perfectly crispy. I'm not talking about the outer crust, but the dough beneath the sauce and cheese. Who else does this? I don't know, but if they do, they probably don't do it as well as Cameli's. The new Little Five location is welcome sight. I love sitting upstairs the patio where they can accommodate even large parties in the Winter or Summer months. My go-to's: - Monster Slices of sausage and mushroom OR - a whole bougie pie; yes a "bougie" pie because it has all this deliciousness on it! Beer selection is pretty great. Lots of local brews - I really like how they carry Monday Night Brewing (a nice pitcher of "Drafty Kilt", is a nice tasty beverage to wash this down with.

Great atmosphere This place didn't give me the best first vibe walking in, but when I sat up on the rooftop patio, there was nothing like it. Great weather, amazing food and very friendly wait staff. Definitely a place to check out in Atlanta.

So, I really wanted to give this place 2 1/2 stars but I'm rounding up because this is a pizza joint and the pizza isn't bad. Would I get it again over Antico or even Savage around the corner? No. But if you're eating at Camelis, get the pizza. My husband and I met some friends for a birthday here. It was a beautiful day and we sat on the roof top. I don't know about you, but drinking on a rooftop patio on a gorgeous day just gives me the warm and fuzzies. At Camelis, though, it was kind of lame. This is totally subjective and people are going to read this and wonder what the hell I'm talking about, but I'm just telling you it had low energy and weird vibes. Our server was uncomfortable and for whatever reason most of the tables were reserved for a party the entire time I was there, but the tables remained empty. I guess some people would enjoy the peace and quiet, but on a Saturday evening I'm expecting a little more zest. The food: My husband and I split a small, $9 chicken and mozzarella panini that was dry and tasteless. Blah. The Miller Lites were good at least.

Meat lasagna and chicken ravioli should have been called meatless. 20.00 pitchers of beer and service was not great; had to begin meal with plastic forks. Not recommended.

I came across this place after I discover my fave bar Corner Tavern was closed for fire repairs. This location is right next to tiuania Garage and front page news on Morland ave.I was a little impressed the two out door seating one on the sidewalk and a on the rooftop . Two bars up stairs and down. Now the food is ok. I just ordered there monster slice and a can of PBR. There pizza was ok no th best in the world. It is worth coming back for. Price is very reasonable. Two Giantor Slices and two cans of PBR for 12 bucks not bad.The service is consistent. The servers do check up on you . The place closes at 2 am is a huge plus also.

This is a delivery review, so I've rated it on that basis. Veggie pizza, fried ravioli and Greek salad ordered and delivered fairly quickly by Zifty. Despite the quick delivery, the pizza and ravioli were maybe a little on the cool side, but nothing out of the ordinary for delivery. Vegetables on the pizza were nicely prepared and not overcooked - still had some crunch to them. Nice crust. I'd order that again. Raviolis maybe not, or at least not delivery. These puppies would be better ordered in the restaurant. Fried appetizers don't travel as well. Salad was a salad. No better or worse than offered by other pizza joints. Ingredients were fresh, not wilted. Final grade is four stars and based on this delivery experience, I'd say a visit to the restaurant is in order.

I love the rooftop patio here! Gorgeous skyline view and perfect for a nice meal (or drinking session) outside on a lovely day. The pizza and food here are A-OK, but this rooftop gets an extra star. I've eaten the pizza at the other location a few times. I really like getting the monster slice and customizing with the toppings I want. I'm particularly fond of mushrooms and they are really fresh here. On my visit to this location, I had the chips to start off with loaded with blue cheese dressing and large chunks of blue cheese. A great appetizer to eat when you're drinking a lot of beer. We also sampled the garlic bread with cheese. You can never go wrong with garlic bread and cheese. I ate the chicken pesto panini as my main meal. It came with a lot of chicken. I actually had to take some out of the sandwich as it was a bit overwhelming. The rosemary focaccia was pretty good. The star of the place is their rooftop patio. I would spend all of my free afternoons here if I could (and if it was closer to home or work). They have a decent drink selection so it's a great place to camp out with some good friends and enjoy yourself. I will be going back very soon to enjoy some Fu Manbrew and bask in the sun as the beautiful spring weather rolls in.

I am actually in Cameli's pizza as I write this review after my very first time dining here. I only ordered one mega slice of pizza with sun-dried tomatoes and spinach. It was good, but a little on the bland side. Although the slice was quite large by Atlanta pizzeria standards, this slice size would be normal size or perhaps a bit larger and good bit cheaper at in any standard NY pizzeria. I would have chalked this up to a pretty good experience if it weren't for the super slow service. I don't see why I had to wait 1 hour and 15 mins in total for everything including getting a menu, my order, my check for my SINGLE slice of pizza. The service is SO SLOW. It wasn't even that busy of a night. Due to gorgeous spring weather, most of the 30 or so patrons were on the rooftop, but the entire downstairs was nearly empty. There were at least 5 wait staff. I would not like to see how slow they could get on a packed night. I highly recommend going upstairs on the rooftop when the weather is nice. There is a great view of the Atlanta city skyline. Overall, good pizza, but not good enough to wait an exorbitant amount of time for. I recommend it only if you are there with someone to socialize with or you have time to kill.

Excellent pizza and $5 mimosas on Sunday! Great skyline view to top that off. I had a cheese & roasted red pepper monster slice & will definitely be back to try other combos

So if you read my reviews in the summer, you will know I love drinking on roofs. It's just one of my little idiosyncrasies. Having a good patio is one thing, but drinking on a roof just wins. So let's talk about it. When Camelis opened this location, I spotted their roof immediately from a block away. I was actually out jogging. I called a friend who also loves roofs with the good news. When we walked up the stairs to the roof, we noticed the draft list scrawled out on a chalkboard. Not bad! In addition to 10 or so beers on draft they also keep a respectable bottled list (+1 for Delirium Tremens). You can snag a table by the edge of the roof and look at the crazy kids walking around L5P and get an interesting view of the downtown/midtown skyline. In the winter they have the roof closed in with clear plastic. They were bright enough to leave a few tables out in the open air as well for the unseasonably warm winter days we have been having lately. Frankly, they do not have my favorite pizza. I think Atlanta's recent surge of great pizza places has ruined me. I probably would have liked it a lot more if I was blissfully ignorant, but it just doesn't stand out to me. However, I will continue to come back for the sweet roof. Ahhh, that's good roof.

Camelis is about as good as it gets for pizza in Atlanta. I am especially thrilled about their newest location in L5P. The roof top deck is awesome and the interior is sparkling and new. Im not knocking their Ponce location but it definitely has a more seedy feel due to the proximity to murder Kroger, the Clermont and the company associated therein. Nonetheless, there is little I wouldn't tolerate for great pizza so pick a location and go! On to the important stuff....the food. I have been to Camelis enough times to have a favorite and I rarely stray but I've heard great things about their other menu items from the slew of folks that I've brought in with me. I am devoted to the Joey Woolum- a wonderful pizza with sundried tomato sauce topped with potatoes, jalapenos and broccoli. I order it with vegan cheese and LOVE it. Camelis also has a pretty sweet beer selection to complete the most winning of combinations. What's not to love?!

When this place first opened I enjoyed it very much. The food was good for bar food, they have a great rooftop, lots of space, 2 bars, plenty of seating, lots of televisions for sports and decent beers. But since my last visit (currently I'm still here) I have to say the food is awful, the service is terrible and now I understand why it's so empty. The server hardly said 2 words words to us during his service, had no warm, quite honestly he seemed upset up even be here. My husband ordered pasta which I tried and it tasted straight from a large can of tomato paste. The Italian sausage sandwich was the worst excuse for a sandwich I have ever seen. It was supposed to come with grilled peppers and onions but I saw none. Absolutely awful meal, no love in the food, boring atmosphere, negative service the list could go on but I'll spare them the embarrassment. One of the bartenders is a long time friend of mine otherwise I would say I would never come back here again. Luckily he's a bartender so maybe I'll come back to enjoy a brew with an old friend but don't eat!!!

I don't typically eat a lot of pizza, but this past weekend I somehow managed to find myself on a pizza binger. The first stop on the binger express was a lunchtime visit to Cameli's newly constructed digs in L5P. In the grand scheme of things, this place is neither extraordinary nor repulsive - as long as you don't come here expecting some sort of cathartic pizza experience, you should leave perfectly satisfied. Food: In addition to pizza and pasta, the menu at Cameli's also includes a reasonable assortment of appetizers, salads, and sandwiches. Pizza can be ordered in two different sizes: small (10" diameter) or large (16" diameter). During my visit, my dining partner and I opted to start with the potato chips with blue cheese and bacon, which are a new addition from the menu at Cameli's original location on Ponce. The chips were crisp and nicely flavored, but the toppings could have been more generously portioned for the price. For an entree, I had the Pax Americana pizza, which is my traditional standby at Cameli's. The pie includes sun dried tomato sauce, chicken, spinach and feta - as usual, the ingredients were fresh and nicely cooked. Service: Very friendly and attentive. We dined shortly before the lunchtime rush on a Saturday, so the staff to patron ratio was nearly even. The restaurant offers both dine-in and takeout service. Atmosphere: Cameli's was newly built from the ground up, so everything is shiny and new - I did notice that there was some framed original artwork on the wall, which was a nice deviation from the standard pizza joint decor that you see elsewhere. The restaurant does have two dining levels, including an open air patio on the top floor. Cost: Reasonably priced. Appetizers are $3-$7, salads are $3-$7, sandwiches are $7-$8, and pasta dishes are $8-$10. Small specialty pizzas are approximately $7-$9, while large pizzas are $15-$20. The famous "monster slice" is $3.50 + 85 cents per topping. Other: Dining room hours are Monday-Saturday, 11:30AM-1AM, and Sunday, 11:30 AM-12AM. The bar is open until 2:30AM, Monday-Saturday. The restaurant does have its own parking lot in back, which is free of charge. Depending upon when you visit, you may also be able to park in the Tijuana Garage/Front Page overflow lot for no charge.

Three stars seems like a fitting description. The fact that it had a great parking situation helped them earn the third star. Food: My calzone was just fine, but not much more than that. I don't love the twist in the middle, I think it detracts from gooey texture that I come to expect on the inside of this pizza pocket. The garlic bread was amazing. This one dish is enough to drag me back. It was really Sicilian pizza, sans the sauce, and LOADED with garlic. Just thinking about that is making me hungry. Service: Just plain bad. Our waiter could not have cared much less about us. We got a drink, our food came, and then he brought a check. That was the extent of our interactions. Maybe I will use this as a drinking and garlic bread eating spot, but Ill pass on the calzone and the apathetic service.

My review is solely based on the pizza I had. I ordered the Papa C which is italian sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms, and something else I can't remember, but that doesn't matter because the quality wasn't that great. It reminded me of Little Azio's pizza which I'm also not a fan of - bland toppings (how can sausage and pepperoni be bland?!), bland sauce and weak crust. I added, salt, pepper, cheese, and red pepper to make it edible. Which was a bummer because it looked really pretty when it arrived! I ate half of my 10' pizza and noticed that the bottom of the tray they use to serve pizza had liquid sloshing around the bottom - not oil like some pizzas but liquid, like water. Which may explain why the pizza center was so soggy. The space itself is very pretty, and I like that they have a good selection of beers and wines, including Fox Barrel Pear Cider in the bottle. Our server was great, and as a "dining experience" it was just fine. But I wouldn't eat here again based on it. I should have known it wasn't going to work out when I saw chicken fingers as an appetizer. Why would a place named "Cameli's" have chicken fingers any place other than the kid's menu? And even then I'm not sure I would be okay with it. There's so much better pizza to be had in Atlanta, I don't know why anyone would go to Cameli's for it. Yelp 52 #36

Cameli's on Moreland has the best Pizza in town. My favorite pizza is the Papa C. It is a supreme pizza with all the toppings. All fresh ingredients. Cameli's is great for lunch the price is right and has the coldest beer in town. At least that is what I heard. lol

Nice, friendly staff. I came here for a boardgames meetup, and that says a lot about this place. The setting is as such - laid back. The Monster Slice was good enough - monster size and super thin. Not the most memorable pizza of my life, but it was good, not at all oily.

It is a shame that I have to write this, because the location is convenient, and the food isn't terrible. This is my second visit to the L5P Cameli's pizza. A group of about 8 of us went for trivia on Wednesday 7/23 and came in second place. We won a $20 gift card, which our waitress offered to apply to the whole check. Once that was done, however, the waitress came by and explained that the check was not able to be split, even though two of the parties checks (mine included) were already split off. No big deal, she let us know what was going on, and having worked with the HotSauce POS system, I know how terrible it is. We asked if she could bring the whole check (minus the gift card) and we would split it up amongst ourselves and write the amount to be charged to our cards on the back of the receipt. She told us that couldn't be done. We asked her to void our check then re-ring everything and forget about the gift card, which she said couldn't be done. She said the 'manager' was calling HotSauce support to figure out the problem. We asked her a million different ways to get us a new check so that we could leave, and she said there was nothing she could do. 10 minutes turned into 20 minutes which turned into 40 minutes. The waitress kept coming over and telling us that nothing could be done. Having worked in the restaurant industry for 10 years, I gave her many different ways to get it done, ring it up under a new table, or at the bar and worry about voiding it later because it was getting very late and many of us had to get up early for work the next day. Keep in mind, the 'manager' NEVER came to the table during this time. I saw him walk by on the phone a number of times, but never once addressed us until I asked. Finally the waitress came over once more and we asked once more for one check, and we would split it up ourselves by writing our names and amounts on the back. Then she said she could do that! Which is what we asked for at the very beginning! When the check was brought over exactly 45 minutes after I received my first portion of the split check, I expected them to at least take care of SOME of the bill for the amount of time we had to wait. In no way did I expect them to comp the whole thing, but SOMETHING would have at least been a nice "I'm sorry for your inconvenience, please come back and join us again to make it up to you." as any restaurant I've ever worked at would have done. I did ask for the manager at that point, who introduced himself as the kitchen manager. I explained my disappointment that they were not willing to take care of their guests who had issues with service or otherwise, and he said "Absolutely, I agree.". He stood there for a couple more seconds as the party was dealing with splitting up the check, and then walked away. Not one cent was comped off the bill, and no effort was made by management to apologize for our inconvenience. What upsets me the most is that the Cameli's management team does not even have a manager capable of dealing with service issues and has no idea how to deal with the POS system problems when they arise. On top of that, they have not trained their staff (our server at least) properly on the capabilities of the POS system. There was a point where I almost went up there to do it myself, because of their supposed incompetence with the system. Safe to say, they lost a lifetime of business from all 8 of us because of managements complete inability to run a business.

This is how much broccoli was put on my pizza. Pretty pathetic, huh? On the other hand, this is the only pizza place I'm aware of that delivers to my neighborhood in East Atlanta, so that gets them at least one extra star. The pizza is fine, nothing extraordinary.

On my most recent drive back to Memphis, I thought it would only be appropriate to have dinner with the Empress before I go. Fox Bros. was our first choice, but the 40 minute wait had us look elsewhere. She suggested we try Cameli's, which was right around the corner. And that it was. Cameli's is located just south of the Little 5 intersection, next to I think the Tijuana Garage. It has its own parking nestled behind the building, which is nice- as parking can be difficult to find these days in the area. When approaching the mostly brick building, there is a ground level patio with open windows, high ass ceilings, and even an upstairs patio as well. We decided to eat on the rooftop patio. What a great view! We got to enjoy the view even more as we were waiting on our server, who I think ended up being Jessie. They have an alright beer selection, and have all sorts of interesting pizzas, calzones, and such. We started off with some bread that had cheese on it, and it was pretty decent! Thick, crunchy, and the marinara was damn good. I ended up ordering a calzone with pepperoni, salami, and jalapenos. It came in the shape of 2 half moons, knotted together. Great for portion control. It came with the same marinara- which I thoroughly enjoyed. It was a great way to end the weekend in ATL, and getting to see one of my favorite people. Make sure you wear a sun hat if you sit on the rooftop! You may or may not get burned.

The usually on point Cameli's hasn't been as tasty my last few visits. Not sure what the change was but the monster slice has been a bit undercooked. Also a new server hit a sour not when he made fun of how I said slice. I love to kid around but first I did not know him and second I don't like the idea of this guy mocking people who may have a lisp or difficulty speaking (having a close friend with a stammer who gets hurt when people make fun of him) particularly in the rude way he did.

35 review averaging at about three stars? Ouch. I thought this place was pretty great. Tons of indoor and outdoor seating, two floors. The service was friendly and chatty in that good way (knowing when to talk and when to not). My server even apologized for bringing out a beer thirty second later than you might have expected it! Lord knows how many places I've gone to that were unapologetic or worse--unaware of shoddy service. I ordered two of the giant monster slices--which one could put away if very, very hungry. One slice should do ya. The pizza isn't knocking anything out of the park, but they do it their way. Interesting crust on the giant slices. It's folded over but bare pressed. I thought it would taste blah, but the texture was crunchy and chewy and interesting, if burnt here and there. The toppings weren't anything to call home about. Like a lot of by-the-slice orders, they have the cheese slices ready and then just dump the toppings on and reheat. Not the end of the world, but not my preference.

I really enjoyed our visit here. The monster slice did not disappoint. Fully stocked bar and a great selection of draft beer. The staff was friendly and the prices were reasonable.

I've eaten here twice and I'm definitely a fan. If it's your first time, don't even look at anything else, try the Monster Slice any way you like it. These slices are bigger than your head and will fill yo' belly. My toppings of choice include: garlic sauce (fresh garlic and olive oil), prosciutto and spinach. MFing delish. The drinks are very satisfactory.. my vodka cran is usually stronger than it looks. If you're not into greasy pizza, you might want to avoid the garlic sauce as I'm sure that's what drips off my Monsta slice when I fold and bite (and then I sop it back up with the crust.... I like..) We also noshed this tasty garlic bread (I bet I was as sweet as a tulip after this meal) and these potato chip nacho thangs (?!) I don't see it on the menu.. but they had bleu cheese or gorgonzola and some other yummy fattening stuff. The patio is primo and a huge benefit to this place.. It's nice and bright but covered and can be enclosed on the sides when necessary. The patio tables are nice.. finished, wooden, slatted.. Service has been good - between the first time I went when it was packed on a Saturday around 7pm.. to the next time when it was lunch on a Saturday at noon and we were the only ones on the patio.. There's also a slightly more enclosed area on the patio roof with a bar, so you can have the view and be away from the elements if that's what you really want. Do Camelis!

I was in at 11:15 PM this evening and was told that the kitchen was closed and we would have to go upstairs if we wanted to drink... They advertise closing at midnight. I've had a good experience here before but the last two times in have left me wondering why I keep trying...

Good, above average experience. We came on Saturday night around 9:00pm. Pizza was great. They have an option for garlic pizza sauce for people who don't like tomatoes. Everything seemed fresh, and our waitress was nice. No real complaints about this place. Very happy all around.

I never thought Cameli's was that great in the past, when I visited their location near Murder Kroger, but I have to say that the pizza here is pretty good. You can't really go wrong with the Monster Slice - $3.75 with 85-cents per topping. It's a bigger slice than Fellini's, but really thin - almost hard to eat, but still delicious. I had one slice with jalapenos and spinach and the most delicious and random dessert - a cupcake! I am anxious to return and sit on the rooftop bar. It looks like it's going to be a fun summer ...

Pizza was the same as the Ponce location, and the new location looks nice (inside), however when I parked in the rear lot I was blown away by how shitty the back of the building looked. All kinds of trash and greasy rags just thrown everywhere. If I hadn't wanted to see the inside of the building so badly I would have gone someplace else just on how nasty it looked.

Want to sit at their beautiful rooftop patio? I hope you like SMOKE. THE UPSTAIRS AT CAMELIS REEKS OF CIGARETTES. I've been a die-hard Camel'is fan for years. Best pizza in Atlanta. Yes, better than Antico (which has never been consistently good when I've gone). This new location is just as good, and has a great balcony. BUT the upstair bar allowed smoking, and that was a real turn-off.

I've been a fan of the Cameli's on PDL for a while, so I was super happy to see this new location open in L5P. My wife and I finally made it in last night for dinner, and overall it was a great experience. No trip to Cameli's is complete without having a monster slice, which is what my wife and I both ordered. The pie was well done, the sauce went all the way to the crust, (they actually make their crust by folding the dough over itself at the edge of the pizza, so the sauce actually goes INTO the crust) and the toppings were on point. I really like the monster slices because the crust stays a little moist from the sauce, which makes it a nice finish to the pie. Most pizza joints end their pies with a dry inedible hunk of dough, so it's always nice to see a piece I can finish without needing a gallon of water. It's not the best pizza in town, but it's miles away from fast food pizza. Everything tastes pretty fresh, and the service is very chill and attentive. It's a great spot to get some pie if you're craving something, I always recommend Camelis!

I've been to this location a few times now, and I've always had ASTOUNDINGLY GOOD service. These ladies and gents are top-notch. This place is also super clean and the music is always fun. OK, now the food: For pure money-to-serving value, I would recommend the pizza slice. It's a victim of its own size, though; very doughy, few toppings, and the ones they do share come straight from the can. The caprese appetizer was literally about two bites of food, and I actually overheard a group at another table commenting to the waitress on how small the thing was. And nothing kills your chances at a 5-star Yelp rating quite like an EIGHT DOLLAR draft beer. You guys might get away with that uptown, but I can and will find cheaper beer elswhere in L5P.

Good service, reasonably priced and extensive beer list, delicious Greek salad, and a great slice of pizza. Doesn't compare with Antico or anything like that but Cameli's is a great place to grab a slice and a drink!

I'm really not a huge L5P person, but one of my friends put me onto this place after a day of shopping at Lenox we made our way down here and lets just say I've been back a few times since with various folks and even just by myself for a quiet quick lunch. Every time I come here I get the same guy so they must not have that many people on staff, which isn't too much of a problem or at least hasn't been for me the times that I've been because my service has been on point. They have an outdoor patio upstairs that is sometimes closed off for private events/parties, thats a cool plus. The downstairs is pretty big too with an outdoor patio on ground level to people/car watch passers by on Moreland Ave. The upstairs patio is where it's at though, even open during the rain and colder months, at least when I went and if I'm not mistaken they had heaters, for sure they have an enclosure that makes you feel like you're still outside if its raining or something. The garlic bread is great, with cheese! The pizza slices are huge! And the margaritas are decent, maybe I'm not much of a drinker but it only takes about two to hit the spot for me. I'd always been a Fellini's chick, but this place may have won me over.

They cater to gluten free and dairy free people! However they charge you extra (unlike mellow mushroom) yeah I'm butthurt about it. Pizza was really good though and their monster slice is massive and is my roomies fav. n0m worthy for sure.

Cameli's is a friendly little East Atlanta spot, with booths on the ground floor and more booths plus a heated deck on top. The decor is clean, contemporary and tasteful, with a bar near the entrance and several TV's W-A-Y up high on the walls. Pizza is the main attraction. The Monster Slice is as big as a small baby and is a meal unto itself. In addition to tomato sauce, you can order sun dried tomato, garlic or basil pesto. There are several specialty pizzas, or you can customize your own. For large groups that all like the same thing, consider the Monster Pie, basically a bunch of monster slices, all with the same ingredients. For those with special dietary needs, you can request "vegan mozzarella" or gluten-free crust. They were not able to tell me whether they use free range glutens. . . Other options include child's plate options, salads, pannini, arroz con pollo, Alaskan salmon fillet, and Italian beef stew. Again, they were not able to tell me if they use free range children n the child's plate. The verdict - excellent. My group thought that the pizza was some of the best in town. The homemade sausage was particularly good. Other things we enjoyed included the chicken pesto panini, the sausage panini (for those that can't get enough of the sausage), and the salads. The cook obviously has some chops. Even the gluten-free crust was described as indistiguishable from the real thing. The black pizza plates have convex dimples, which are hidden by wax paper. This allows the hot air to get under the crust as it cooks. I tell you this because you should NOT use a knife on pizza served this way. It shreds the paper, makes a horrible mess, and greatly raises the probability that you will swallow some of the paper. Don't go there. All in all, a really nice experience that we look forward to repeating soon and often.

Went here yesterday with a small group after being damn hungry and remembering they had a Scoutmob, and having been to the one by Murder Kroger before I was comfortable with dining here without issues. Located on Moreland next to Tijuana Garage and across from The Wrecking Bar, it's really a good looking building and easy to spot. Parking isn't bad unless they're really busy, they have their own lot but it's in no way big, maybe 20 cars total, but at 6pm there were four open ones so maybe it doesn't ever get too crazy. Not sure. Inside, it's very nice, mainly since it's brand new I guess, but it's got a lot of windows for natural light, plenty of wood, and set up to be spacious without being too vast looking. There's tables and a bar downstairs, them more tables, a bar, and a patio up top. We went up top to get some better light, and it's really open and warm, they have the plastic curtains for breezy days which were down but it still felt like we were outside from the light and breeze. Same menu I think as Ponce, but the beer list is better here, including a few sours, so I got a Rodenbach. Ordered food and awaited it hungrily. Now, I know it was dinner time and families go out to eat a lot, but Cameli's Pizza suddenly became Cameli's Daycare. A group of 7-8 kids (young, no more than 8yrs old) came up top suddenly, running around and screaming like they were outside on the playground. They went around tables before settling at one, then got back up and went downstairs, back upstairs, and ran around some more. This went on for a solid 15 minutes before a waitress asked them not to run around, which didn't do anything because kids with obviously shitty, worthless parents who don't discipline them aren't going to listen to anyone with authority. I nearly got up and yelled at them myself but my lady calmed me down and they finally left the rooftop for good. Now I know the employees aren't always able to control a situation, but I would have liked for someone to tell a parent that they needed to get off their ass and do something, as there was a lot of other patrons who were being interrupted and annoyed by their kids. I was highly pissed off by this and while I don't hold Cameli's responsible, it did ruin the experience a little. I'll be wary of this next time. Overall though, the food was good (not great, but tasty and filling) and our waitress was polite and available, which was good. We were hungry and didn't want to deal with a long wait, and we didn't have to. One thing to note though, the Scoutmob was only for lunch (my mistake for not checking) so we didn't get to use it. That hurt the wallet a little, but again that was my error for not verifying before we ordered.

This was a great place to eat and have a good time. The food is great and the customer service is even better. On a nice night you want to eat on their rooftop and enjoy the view. I had a great experience and plan on going back.

I've visited the new location in L5P a few times and I really can't complain. The slices are huge (although the toppings are a little scarce...I ordered jalepenos and there were like 7 jalepeno slices for $.85...I can buy a whole jar for $.85). Anyway, the crust is nice and thin. The salads are good. The rooftop patio is pretty cool. And they stay open late which is a plus.

SERIOUSLY??? NO, REALLY? UGH... Lemme stop shouting so you can hear me & tell you about THIS foolishness. We had not been in the L5P area in a while, checked out this place from the recommendation of a family member. Oh, never listening to them for a while. So, we were confused about parking, parked behind Front Page News. Need NO issues, so hubs went to move car from there to the other side. Hostess told me to have a seat wherever I liked. In every other case of this, the hostess followed right behind to give a menu. Not this one, she just chilled at the host stand. About 5 minutes after the hubs returned, she came over with menus that she slammed on the table with the waitress literally on her heels. Waitress asks for our drink & appetizer order - literally we have not had time to open the menu yet. Alrighty then... so, now we have reviewed the menu and are waiting. And waiting. Hubs asked if I wanted to leave. Since I could not think of anywhere to go, I declined. Waited some more. I could not find the number to the restaurant on the menu. I looked it up online and called. No one answered. I was going to ask if anyone was going to take our order. Finally, she comes over. We order. Sigh... Food comes. We ordered the blue cheese chips. Well, at least we know they are fresh. Over 50% of them were raw in the middle. Yep, crunchy on the outside, soft and opaque in the center. We realized this after our main courses came directly out. Yep, she dropped off the appetizer then turned right around to bring our appetizer. At first, we thought that we would not get to eat the appetizer. Then, we looked at the plate. We each ordered ravioli. I ordered the butternut squash ravioli. There were 9 of them, slightly larger than the size of a postage stamp. Dang. He ordered the chicken ravioli with walnut pesto sauce. He had 5, they were the size of thhe smallest size postage note. Now we are looking back at the appetizer like...umm, you need to really supplement. So, we found that the chips were raw. Wanted to let waitress know, but of course, she did not think about checking on us. Flagged down the bartender who was passing by to get her. Told her what happened, oh... imagine that. At this point, our annoyance has filled us up, we just wanna leave. She insists on bringing us the chips. She does, they are just as bad as the first batch. I picked over a few & just gave up. Never again... Never...

Never disappointed. Thin pies with tasty toppings. We like the Papa C. Monster slice is always fun. Their tomato pizza sauze is tangy, yet balanced. House salad is simple, and fresh...I like the vinaigrette. The salami panini is thin (little over an inch, maybe), and crunchy, yet packed with flavor. Even the chicken fingers and fries..standard stuff, as their menu admits, is kicked up by an insane delicious honey mustard sauce. And they deliver to Grant Park!!! So with our busy schedules, we order from here at least once per week. Oh, and the drivers are always cool.

I love the Cameli's off Ponce and this one is not different. The monster slice is delicious as ever. I tried their calzone for the first time, and I was really impressed by it. One of my top 5 pizza places in Atlanta.

  • Shevi S.

Wow! I can't believe that I had to give this place an actual star. To be fair, this review has nothing to do with the food because we did not get to actually taste the food. So we walk in and was acknowledged by the host who then advised us to have a seat. I just want to point out here that someone saw us walk in. Then 12 minutes later, this obviously overworked, exhausted looking, attitudinal server comes over and asks for our drinks while handing us one menu and telling us "you will just have to share because we are short on menus today". The place was not even full. There were so many unoccupied tables!! WHY WOULDN'T YOU HAVE MENUS?! But, whatever, so we place our drink orders at around 8:15... at 8:45 we still have no drinks and no explanation as to why we have no drinks. At 8:46 we are crossing the street to a restaurant that knows how to treat its patrons...Love you Corner Tavern!!

I love Cameli's pizza. It's one of the best pizza restaurants in Atlanta! The waitresses are very nice and we were served on very quickly. I can't wait to come back and eat some more great pizza:-)

I had been to the original, and yes, this one is a big step different, but nothing wrong with that. This Camelis is a bit more relaxed, but the staff is friendly and the drinks are good. I only had one slice of pizza, and it was good. I had a really good time. I went during Karaoke night and it was a lot of fun!

First time ever dining at a Cameli's -- in fact, I didn't realize it was a local "chain" until I saw that there's a Ponce location, too. After watching this emerge out of the ground as a new business in L5P, the bf and I have been wanting to check it out (not that L5P needs yet another pizza joint within a one block radius, but whatever). We grabbed a pie today for lunch and the pizza was very good -- it actually tasted like I was eating something...dare I say, healthy? We got the McLeod Nine specialty pie and the ingredients were all super fresh and the pizza wasn't greasy at all. I'll admit it wasn't THE most memorable pizza I've ever eaten in terms of flavors, but I would go back for lunch again. I prob wouldn't go far out of my way to eat here since there are lots of good pizza joints around Atlanta, but if you're in L5P, this place has a nice rooftop patio, good beer list, and is worth a try.

Cool atmosphere on a Saturday night. Visited the rooftop bar and there was a great singer songwriter guitar player performing. Great service and selection of local beers. Convenient parking next door beats the parking situation at most spots in L5P.

I've eaten here once and my SO and I really liked it. His pizza was extremely tasty from the fresh, flavorful ingredients to the sauce to the thin crust. My acorn squash ravioli was very good. The upstairs is a treat - with an unusual view of downtown Atlanta and a cozy but stylish outdoor deck. I don't enjoy pizza as much as my sweetie, but I would actually go out of my way to eat this pizza.

Very disappointed with this Cameli's. I was excited when they opened this location but not anymore. I don't expect much when I order a slice at lunch. But when I order a whole pizza, I expect it to be freshly made. I'm pretty sure that they just dumped our ingredients on top of an old cheese pizza that they had lying around.

Sitting here now for first and last visit. Pizza slice is huge crust is thin and perfect but lacks flavor. Beer in draft was poured with so many suds had to wait to drink wtf. margarita was extra weak even though it was made with 1800 Tequila. Drink was almost $10.00 and the shot that was needed to even feel a little buzz, was $8.00 so that is a ripe off. Although the bartender was nice signs were there when I only saw one popular brand of vodka on the shelf, which was not my favorite but I had to order a beer as a result. Their selection is very weak just like the taste of their drinks. I thought that this would be a good spot to kick it late on the weekend since the parking lot is right there and you can't beat pizza and booze, but this will not be that place for me. I would suggest buying a Tony's pizza, which is disgusting from the store and hooking it up with extra sauce and toppings yourself because I am sure it will still be more favorful than their slices. I noticed the check in offer was 10% off lunch during the week and I would assume that is to draw business but they will need to really step their game up to be comparable to say Johnny's or Mellow Mushrooms

Sorry but this place was HORRIBLE! Service was bad, pizza was boring...no flavor at all, when I asked for a manager, I was told they are all in a meeting and I was out of luck. I live in Lil 5 and I WILL NOT be back ther ever. Lil 5 Pizza has NOTHING to worry about....

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
