The service here is really hit or miss for sure. I had a decent experience with no real problems or issues, but my friend on the other hand who came in about 15 minutes after I did had a totally different experience. The cashier couldn't really answer his questions and he just wanted to know what the smoothies were made out of. He also was served the wrong burger, but since we waited so long he didn't want to go back to get it exchanged. The food was pretty good really tasty burger and the meat seemed to be seasoned properly. I had the Big Al's butter burger which had some special sauce (super tasty). If you like plain burgers that don't have a lot of condiments pre loaded then this might not be the place for you. I think what they come with is just prefect, but then again I also like my burger to have a few things going on. The fires though for some reason just didn't work. We ordered both sweet potato and regular; however, both were very underwhelming in taste. This was probably the only thing that I can really complain about because I feel like they could've been more crispy. I'll come back to try that red Velvet shake tho....UFFFFFFF!!! Lil Al (the manager) came by and talked to use for a few minutes too really cool guy and wanted to make sure he could address any problems if we had them. Step up the fry game!

We had the regular cheese burger and the bacon cheese burger and it was okay. Doesn't taste any better or worse than a drive through burger to be honest. Like... Hardee's is better considering the price. The wait was terrible. 30 minutes for a burger that was lukewarm at best. Didn't really care for the presentation either. The whole layout of this place kinda sucks to be honest. Like people are throwing away their trash right in the entrance. And trying to get around them to go to the register is just weird. And don't eat at the bar unless you want everybody who gets their order to reach over you for their food. I doubt I'd be back. Didn't live up to the game hype.

Don't believe the hype!÷! Big Al's bites the dust! I'm not really one to write badd reviews however, this one is sooo necessary. So here it is after a 30 minute wait just to place my order and then an additional 20 min wait to receive my order I have to admit I was over it then! The order went like this.....the hambruger was not that goodd. The grade of hambruger meat that is used to make the brugers is a lower grade & it has an the dressing was mediocre, and fries were lukewarm. This was not worth the time and gas spent to get their.on

Whoever has given this place stars at 3 and up must have recently seen the light and be fresh off of vegan-ism...I could stop there, you get it, but the app is urging me to write more so...2 stars? The people are super friendly, the place is clean, the food is made to order, and the fries are ok- definitely a real potato with a mixed seasoning shaken on. I'd use a different, more flavorful potato, but hey, it's basically fast food so, I'll let them live. That said, while I'm getting "fast food" vibes from the meat quality and desire for a more flavorful potato, there's nothing "fast food" about the swiftness of the order ( which I don't mind, they cook to order-see star report) and the PRICE. View the picture, I paid $10 for that. The beef ( I'm assuming it's beef for my own sanity) is fried and flattened into oblivion and I guess the flavor dripped away into the flattop. I'm not certain what exactly a butter burger is, but I'm guessing the butter is reserved for the bun, which I passed on to eat my fries with no guilt and to really taste the beef. I'm thinking the butter should be there to add flavor and moistness, both of which were missing for me. I'm still on the hunt for the best burger in GA, it wasn't found here.

    S. L. O. W. Trouble caring how good your burger is if you can't get it to me in less than 30 minutes. Under staffed? Under trained? It looked like people were working hard, but I'm not coming back. Avoid if you are hungry. If you're going to hang out and have a drink it might be just fine.

Okay, so let me start with this.... Sooooo worth the trip! I saw this place on Instagram and started following because of the pictures. I mean, who wouldn't drool over something made with butter and can add bacon?! So I'm home visiting from Texas and I'm determined to get here. And I'm completely satisfied!! Fresh, hot and oh so yummy!! You have to come and eat!!

Looked good from pictures but ummmmmm NO. I got the buttermade cheeseburger adding lettuce and tomato. The meat tasted extremely bland. As a whole, it just didnt add up for me. Tasted similar to a smashburger. I am disgusted and my stomach even hurts a little afterwards.

I ordered the turkey burger and it was delicious. Lots of flavor, not dried out (as some turkey burgers are).

Found two bones in my burger. Almost choked on them. Why are there bones in a burger in the first place? Burger was over priced and incredibly small. Was probably about a 3 oz patty. Fries were about $4 and that got you about a handfuls worth.

The burger is similar to five guys but with a bigger menu. The reviews that say it's just mediocre I don't understand. If your expecting fine dining then yes it just mediocre. But for fast casual it was really good

Here is my review in a neat little nutshell: If you love Five Guys, you're gonna love Big Al's Gourmet Butter Made Burgers. In all honesty, all of these new burger joints seem to taste extremely similar if not identical to Five Guys. It is getting to where if I did a blind taste test I probably wouldn't know the difference. Big Al's gimmick is to add a dollop of butter on top of its Angus beef burger while cooking. I'm not entirely sure this is a flavor enhancement you can truly taste, but I can say without a doubt this is a mighty fine burger. My biggest problem with ALL of these burger joints popping up around town are the prices. On average, for a meal that includes fries and a drink, the totals are ranging between $12 and $14. That's three times the cost of a McDonald's double cheeseburger and about double the cost of a double cheese meal @ Wendy's or Burger King. Better than a fast food burger? Definitely. Three times better? I think not. In any case, I believe Big Al's will be a big hit and hold its own in this growing gourmet burger market. I wasn't a fan of the french fries, but the restaurant is clean, the décor is inviting, the service is friendly and the burgers are delicious. Not to mention they 'had me @ hello' when I sat down and saw a bottle of mayonnaise at the table. SIDENOTE: The owner of Big Al's also owns the U-Bar yelp.com/biz/the-ubar-at… FINAL THOUGHTS In my opinion, burger costs are getting outrageous making eating out less and less affordable (especially for families). But that's just the curmudgeon in me wishing for those simple days when $5 got you a filling value meal. Fact of the matter is so many things have increased in cost that it's almost impossible for a business these days to survive without significant price increases... but it's getting out of hand. While I'm likely going to spend more time cooking my own burgers, I am grateful for places like Big Al's where I can put a burger in my mouth worthy of the calories. I just wish feeding my family there didn't costs nearly as much as filling up my gas tank!

Welp it was good but nothing really s to them apart from five guys except their special sauce... And their prices!

Their burgers are off the chain! So so sooooo good! Best thing is you can order the food delivered to your house, too, so I don't even have to leave my house to enjoy their food! Highly recommend their cheese fries and you really can't go wrong with any of their burgers!

The cheese burger I got was like only one patty from a Steak & Shake. Flavor good. Sweet potato fries seemed processed. $12 for a drink and burger...nah. I can go elsewhere for better and less.

Alright! So, I finally made it to Big Al's. This place was mediocre at best. First, the pictures made me almost believe this was about to be the best burger I would ever have. The restaurant is cozy and quaint. Not too big, few booths, few tables and a couple of bar area chairs. I ordered a few different things so I could taste a few since I knew I probably wouldn't return. Let me start with the burger. The burger was cool. Nothing spectacular. The bacon added a nice touch but was a tad bit hard. This burger in no sense compares to Vortex, H&F or The Albert but it was alright. Just alright. Next, the cheese fries.. I order cheese fries a lot of places and these were a disappointment! First of all, tell me the cheese on top of the fries has a hint of jalapeño or whatever spiciness to it before I order. I tasted these fries and was highly upset. I don't like spicy anything, so for me.. these were a 1. I ate 2 and left the rest. Jabari didn't like these much either. Next, I got the bacon cheese dog. Their hot dogs are Nathan's, so I was automatically excited because I love Nathan's hot dogs!! This was cool. Not the best with the liquid cheese but the bacon added a nice flavor. The ONLY reason I'm giving this place 3 stars is because of the chicken sandwich. First, most places with chicken breast are usually too dry for me and I have to add a ton of mayo or honey mustard. Al's doesn't have honey mustard but the bbq chicken comes with Big Al's house sauce and bbq sauce.. it didn't need it because the chicken was perfect and could stand alone. I didn't have anything to drink but water. I definitely won't return here but if for some reason, I happen to it'll only be for the chicken sandwich.

These burgers are exactly what they say they are in the title. I felt like I needed to go for a run afterwards but it was AWESOME!!! A guilty pleasure I'll have to make up for at the gym next week. Good service.

Omg! Man oh man! Eat here if you love eating. Too delicous and the sweet potatoe fries to die for!

Very mediocre. One of those meals I wish I hadn't wasted the calories on. The burgers arrived lukewarm-cold and the wings (we got HOT) were so salty they were nearly inedible. I didn't try the fries or ice cream although they looked decent - I won't be returning to find out.

I'm going to be honest... My favorite thing in the world, is a burger. My last meal would be a burger, but let's hope it doesn't come to that. A burger can be simple and comforting or complex and intriguing. When I think of burgers I think of my parents. My Dad cooked the best burgers when I was a kid. I'm a bit hungover. Kelly and I went to a wedding last night. I was craving a burger and finally gave this place a shot. Simple and comforting. I got the smokehouse at the chef's suggestion and I got a double. It was spectacular. Unreal. Delicious. That's my word and in sticking to it.

Gonna make this burger joint review brief. If you like fresh ground beef, cooked freshly on a flat top, in butter, oh man, is this the place. Burger is crunch around the edges, and give it a great taste. No too wild about Big Al's Sauce, but the burger, staff, and place in general, just rocks!!!

Was lured in by a "Free Dessert" coupon, and greeted with a corporate-style welcome. The place was totally empty at 1:30. The burger was cooked until dead, and the fries ($3.75) are not very good. The "free" dessert was a very small cup of soft ice cream with "apple cobbler" mixed in. The greeter had no idea how to handle a coupon.

Looks can be deceiving and pricey so read the reviews and not what the celebrities say all the time..but it is good to knw they will try to correct the issue's but in my case it didn't work..I had my burger fixed twice and it was mediocre not the thrill I'm use to in Stockbridge man not the same...what I like was the strawberry lemonade homemade and the location..it was easy to find and accessible and a familiar area with other well none businesses. If you hangry (hungry/anger) lol and what a cocktail and something fast this your spot...maybe it was not my day but I want be going back no time soon too pricey example for 5 ppl 80.00 which is alot for drink fries sandwich..plus my sandwich was warm the first-time and the second time to over cook..I'm just done but the restroom and the store was very clean 4 stars for that LOVE IT...Thank you but not again

So, this isn't too far from my place, and I thought it would be nice to try out a new spot for once. Inside, the place isn't fancy, but it's certainly reasonable. Clean, decent, etc. When I went online, I found a burger on the menu (wild thing), and I walked right in and ordered it. The cashier looked at me like I was crazy. It's not on the menu in store, just online. Well, this is awkward! So, I opted (quickly and desperately) for the smoke burger and onion rings (I'm not usually a huge fry fan, so I always opt for rings, especially here, as the fries seem REALLY expensive). Anyway, I take my cup, grab a soda from the fountain, and take my seat. I check a few e-mails, whatever, and my pager thingy goes off. I grab my tray, and head back to my table. So, the burger looks appetizing, but the first thing I notice are the onion rings...these look straight out of the freezer section of Publix. For what you pay here, I would hope for something a little better, at least real batter or something. So, I was instantly disappointed. Only bonus was they were blazing hot, so at least they were "made" to order. So, my burger was pretty decent (I ordered the single), and the bacon, etc. had nice flavor. It was a bit greasy, even for a hamburger though. Not offensive, hot, fresh, but not any "wow" kind of flavor or originality here. Lastly, and maybe this is me becoming more old and grumpy, but this place was REALLY loud. I mean, there were I think 4 other tables besides myself, two of which were single people. So, there's not much convo. going on. But, they have music playing pretty loud (which I hate...I have no idea why people think I want to listen to their fav. music while I try to relax). But aside from that, the kitchen is kind of open, and it seems all of the staff are chatting there (no arguing, or anything foul mind you), but at a REALLY loud level. I'm assuming, it's because it's hard to hear back there over the vent hoods, crappy music, etc. I dunno...as a lone-ranger kind of diner, I'd really rather be in peace while I eat. Maybe I'm alone in this, but it was just a bit unwelcoming for me. Anyway, for my money, it was edible, nice enough people, clean, etc., but I doubt I'll be back anytime soon. Especially as Ssam Burger or Grindhouse are both about 5-10 minute drives from here, and much better for the price (and Ssam is cheaper!).

Fresh made Angus beef burgers hot off the grill. The food here was fresh, tasty and filling. Buttery bun, sweet pickles and fresh garden lettuce and tomato come standard and are an added compliment to the meal which can be accompanied with your choice of raw cut style french fries or cheese fries. Just like Five Guys. A Dbl cheese burger with bacon , fries and a drink came to just over $16.00. I added a vanilla shake for an additional $5.50..! Welcome to Bulkhead All said and done, I would not drive past Steak N Shake to go here. A one time experience but certInly nothing you haven't had before.

It was OK. But just OK. I'll give it props for being a juicy burger and it had a good flavor. It had that touch of steak flavor to it that processed burgers lack. Like others have said, a bit overpriced. For what I paid for double I could have had a bigger double, better fries and a drink at 5 Guys. Value aside, I prefer the taste of 5 Guys. As a burger aficionado, I had to try it despite the so so reviews. Won't be going back. Good service though. And oh, if you want lettuce and tomato be sure to ask for it. I HATED the pickles they used (way too sweet).

Had lunch with my BFF. The burger is good. I ordered the original Butter Burger. The sides and the soda are a little pricey. Nice atmosphere.

The burgers here are good! My favorite is the Big Al's wild thing burger with bacon, fried green tomatoes (yum!!!!), cheese, lettuce, cherry peppers, hold the mushrooms. It's a bit on the expensive side for a burger alone ($9+) for this one and between $4 and $6 for the other single burgers, but it is delicious. The fries (plain or chilli cheese) are just ok. Definitely not worth $3+. Go for the onion rings instead. They are big, fresh, crispy and very good. Save your money on the drink too. Their drink prices are ridiculous for the small cups. They are 5 stars if the prices weren't so high.

Ok so I was on my way to Yeah Burger and ran up on this establishment. I had the original butter burger and I was pleased. It was seasoned very well just on the small side. I also tried their wings Eh! They can miss me on those. Over priced and NOTHING to write home about. My counter parts had the shakes chocolate and strawberry. Both very good. If I'm in the area again I'd be back. I doubt I'd go out of my way to come back though.

Best burger ive had in a while, at $4.85, I got the single butter, to maintain my boyish figure, dredding not getting the double. It was hot, fresh, tasty, mmmm. Add lettuce and tomato. Perfect. Fries were alright, could be crispier, but still good none the less.

  • Jamie S.

The food was mediocre and massively overpriced. The fries were overcooked and spongy, and the burgers were bland. I will not be back and I don't recommend this place at all. Please go somewhere else. You will be grateful that you listened to me :)
