This place used to be a Nebraska Cornhuskers bar on Saturdays and wherever you find Nebraska fans watching Cornhusker football games then you will also find red beer being served (and that still may be in effect at TJ's). What is red beer (you ask)?: Beer plus tomato juice. OK, everywhere / ever time I mention this I get all kinds of disgusted reactions. I don't care. It's one of the great beer-based pleasures in life and if I'm the only one doing it, then that's fine. Actually, a little googling shows that others are doing it, but mostly as a hangover cure. It is a fact of life: Cornhusker fans drink red beer. I don't know how this came to be and don't really care. Mexicans drink "micheladas" (which is basically a spicier and more lime infused version of the tomato juice / beer concoction poured over ice) (Almost a beer infused Mexican version of Bloody Mary). I don't know of any other socio / ethnic group that does this. I mentioned this phenomena once before in a review of Buford Highway Farmers market. BHFM carries a commercially packaged version of red beer / michelada in the form of a Budweiser / Clamato canned beverage that Anheiser-Busch produces for the latin / hispanic market. In that review I mentioned how I used to date a girl from Nebraska. She did not know the origins of the red beer beverage either. All I know is that Cornhusker fans drink the hell out of it and especially so during morning / early afternoon games. I like to drink red beer any time of the day or night. When I was a kid I remember my dad drinking red beer; I don't know what ratio of tomato juice to beer he was mixing, but I like it very tomato-y and served out of an ice cold / frosty mugs. I think I also remember him drinking it in bars sometimes; In North Carolina, at least in those days, kids could be in bars. When I reached legal drinking age I would sometimes order red beer - mostly in South Florida or in the Tampa Bay area - and no bartender ever blinked an eye at my request. I think Nebraska used to recruit top prospects heavily out of those areas. Perhaps part of the reason for that was because the roughest part of Tampa was the area in / around Nebraska Avenue. I learned at an early age that if I drank only red beer - even if I attained near-blind levels of drunkenness - I'd have little to no hangover the next morning. Whenever I tried ordering red beer anywhere in Georgia; however, all I ever got was a blank stare, or perhaps a beer with the word "red" in the name. Now, red beer may indeed be good for curing hangovers (and it is especially good for avoiding them) but perhaps its greatest value lies in the ability to put dynamic flavor into really lousy (cheap) beer. I've even been able to enjoy Miller High Life, Genesee or PBR this way, as an example. Oh, by the way, I would never put tomato juice in really good beer. I don't think that would work and - at any rate - it would certainly be considered a sacrilege of sorts. Not many places in Atlanta serve up red beer; TJ's does. Or at least it used to.

Part of me wants to give two stars here, but the other part of me now remembers (after my visit to TJ's) that there are still people in the world who smoke. Since those people still want a place to eat and drink while smoking, I'll give TJ's three stars in deference to them. It's the reason I will not be returning, but that's me. So if you smoke, this place may be for you, because the food was actually pretty good. Given the dingy, well-worn furniture and dated décor (Braves Championship! Atlanta Olympics! Zack Morris starts a band! [I made that last one up]) I was totally surprised that my fish tacos and house-made chips were actually very delicious. The tacos didn't look like much on the plate (you're already guessing that presentation is not TJ's focus) but I relished every bite. The kitchen was really slow, which is inexplicable given that it wasn't very busy. Or maybe that's why it was slow. But their product was good. Smokers, have at it, and enjoy the food. Make sure you get the chips. You just won't see me there again.

TJ's is located on the far left corner of a plaza off Holcomb Bridge. It's the plaza with Studio Movie Grill so you won't miss it. Definitely a sports bar. TJ's has plenty of flat screens all around the restaurant. It has billiard tables and other games as well. This place looks a little run down inside if anything. I guess we can say vintage? Very dim lighting as well. Certain parts of the restaurant was dark compared to others. SERVICE As my friend and I entered, we were told to grab a seat. Within a few minutes our waitress showed up, greeted us, and took our drink orders. Very friendly and attentive. FOOD: They have an extensive menu ranging from Salads & Soups, Jumbo Wings, Wraps & Tacos, Burgers, Sandwiches, and TJ's classics (pizza, NY strips, fish 'n' chips, etc) -Jumbo Wings: I ordered the 10 wings for $8.95. It comes with carrots and celery and a dipping sauce (ranch or bleu cheese). half lemon pepper and half mild please! The wings were okay. A little over fried because some were dry and hard to chew/eat. -Basket of Fries ($4.45): I wanted fries with m y wings but it was a separate order under "Warm Ups." Overall, my dinner was okay. Service was friendly.

A friend of mine is in the process of writing something like, her 12th book and asked that I read over a passage and give my thoughts. For some reason, I couldn't focus at home, so I decided to go out and give it a shot. I've passed TJ's a handful of times but never went in. I was in the mood for homemade potato chips for some reason (maybe I'm pregnant). I blindly went with the hope that a sports bar carried them, and was happy to see the potatoes on the menu that patiently awaited my arrival to the sticky table in one of the smokiest scented bars I've ever been in. In this day and age, how does any restaurant think that allowing smoking patrons will actually attract business? Bypassing the disgusting, thick air, I grabbed a table. My seat was positioned on the opposite side of the bar forcing the bartender to walk about a quarter mile to get to me. I looked at the sports memorabilia in the glass encasement next to me. I'm quite familiar with sports memorabilia, being a collector my entire life and I'm pretty sure that everything within the case was garbage that I sold off at a yard sale years ago for no more than about $20. Seriously. First, there was no continuity in the material with the exception that the stuff "kind of" all had a connection with sports. Glassware, a replica Nebraska helmet, and other trash has no need to be encased in a Smithsonian-like fashion. It was the Hard Rock Café equivalent of having on full display a handful of 8-track cassette tapes and a 42-key Casio keyboard that you got for Christmas in 1984. So I got to reading. I was probably 4 or 5 pages deep when the bartender finally made her ¼ mile trek to take my drink order. By page 18, she hadn't made one attempt at returning. I was finished reading my friends' amazing passage and looked up at the bartender pouring a beer for a patron at the bar. A good 15 minutes from entry and I ended up walking out with not so much as a glass of water. If the bar had been slammed and she was the only employee, I would have understood, but it wasn't the case so I went off to Adele's for a little Cajun cuisine, and I would encourage the blonde ditz working the bar at TJ's to read my Adele's review with the knowledge that working for tips requires a little more in the elbow grease department. PS - One other thing to note is that Yelp points out that there were a multitude of positive reviews for this dump coming from the same IP address which they spotted and removed. I encourage you to read them. The majority came within a few weeks' span in April of this year, regularly referencing Cheers and someone named Carol Ann. Good try. I'm sure a few slipped through the cracks though so beware.

Absolutely terrible service. The Owner is a jerk. Food is greasy garbage. Avoid!- unless you are literally dying of starvation.

Good : My favorite honey BBQ wings in Atlanta. Bad: the terrible cigarette smell I take home with me on my clothes and hair every time I go there. This place needs some renovations because it's really old and a separate room for smokers. The smell It's disgusting. Service is good.

Thank god for yelp! When a place CONSTANTLY advertises on Groupon, that should be a WARNING WARNING WARNING! (apparently its how the movie grill next store stays in business). I have been curious about this place, as I drive by daily.....and after reading these terrific reviews..I will NEVER SET FOOT in this dump. I hate cig smoke, so I can't imagine eating in an 'ashtray' with 'crappy service'. Thank you Yelp for the warning! even WITH a groupon I will never ever set foot in this place. Thanks yelp for saving me money (and my head as I am sure I would have a nasty headache afterwards from the rancid smoke smell...). I am sure there are other wonderful (non smoking) places to eat (like Frontera down the street).

USED to be an 'OK' place but it's garbage now. The food takes FOREVER coming out and if you're not a smoker you definitely don't need to be here. Owner does not care about complaints. I think they have a group of regulars that they cater to and anyone else it's an..."oh well, If you don't like it, don't come back!" attitude. I wouldn't spend a quarter in this dive ever again.

Went back after a few years during the holidays and it was sad to see TJ's had gone down hill big time. Barkeep sat at the other end of the bar talking to the chain smoking regulars dolling out Sam Adams in dirty glasses. One things for sure the décor inside TJ's hasn't been changed since the mid 90's. In fact the whole place didn't seem very clean...these people need Jon Taffer to kick that door in and get to yelling and hopefully ironing this place out... bringing it back to what it once was... a great neighborhood staple esp on trivia night which im glad to see they still do. I don't mind smoke at all, in fact I welcome it at bars, it adds to the ambiance, however after my few beers here I had to wash my shamrock shirt TWICE to get the smell out of it. oh well comes with the territory. Still a bright spot for me about TJ's is that its a tried and true hockey bar which was the whole reason I stopped in, and sure enough the Rangers and Capitals was glaring out of the flat screen at the end of the bar :) But it seems the surrounding area has givin way to the brass and fern taco-crap style of bar... blech I would rather have my coat stained with cigar smoke and bask under the warm glow of NHL hockey at TJ's.

I'm kind of torn with this review as the food here is pretty awesome. Everything we tasted was fresh, better than expected, and filling. The inside could use a nice uplift. While there's plenty of space and lots of tables in the dining area, the furniture and decor was outdated. Also, the amount of smoke clouds and stale smoke made me feel a bit lightheaded. the weather was perfect so we ate on their outdoor raised patio instead. If you are smoker you will enjoy eating here, if not get an order to go or eat on the patio.

Don't get the onion rings with the "special sauce". Don't get soda here. It will be watery and flat. I only came here because of Groupon. Never and I repeat never go to a restaurant from Groupon. This means they need a quick customer and their food is bad.

TJ is located in a strip mall, plenty of parking and seats. On Friday about 8pm it's still an after work spot. Drinks are strong and serve is quick. DJ was good, hookah was reasonable at $15 for 1 flavor. We stayed for about 3 hours. On Saturday about 10 it was a nightclub. Mixed crowd looking for a good time. No seats, drinks watered down and the DJ only played 1-2 mins of every song. You have to start a tab in order to get drinks and lurk to find a seat. We left after 1 hour.

Oh so kudos to TJ Sports Bar and Grill in Alpharetta for letting a grown man get completely intoxicated, letting him pass out on the stairs in 90° weather and then denying him water as he was laying pretty much unconscious on the steps...and to add insult to injury the barstaff KNEW he was passed out on the steps and still denied him water....Yeah definitely not coming back here

Team Trivia on Friday. Just happened into this place, because my movie at Studio Movie Grill was sold out. So glad we did. The food was tasty, the trivia was fun and the service was good. A good place to go if you just want to get out without doing something too expensive or fancy smancy.

I came here for the second time last week with a friend , and we sat at the bar for a good 15 minutes while a male bartender/manager sat and talked with some people at the end of the bar. We and these other said people were the only ones sitting at the bar. He walked by us, looked at us but didn't acknowledge us. And then a female bartender came behind the bar and he went into his office right behind the bar. She also didn't really acknowledge us. My friend and I are two young, pretty girls and there is no reason we should have been ignored like that! What the hell...

Since my first review I've gone here a few more times. The wings are good as usual almost every time. There was once that they tasted like they dropped all of them into a bowl of salt. They were insanely salty. The last time we went the wings were perfect though. Our waiting was a little off though. I think he was more interested in watching the football game that was on that working. Overall he wasn't bad though.

TJ's is a great local hangout! Smoking inside is allowed so, if you can't handle smoke this is not a place for you! They serve a beer that was being handed out as the poker night beer called Fat Cat! There is a Fat Cat for every type of drinker! The service was great and so was the food surprisingly. I never expect much from bar food but this was surprisingly great! I had a hot buffalo wrap with fries and I was not disappointed.. . great hangout atmosphere. I will be returning!

  • Pedro M.

Made a bad review back on couple of years, but I have to say that, as much as I hate smoking atmosphere , they have a great late menu and bantenders go the extra mile to comply with your food and drinks requests.

Be careful at this place and its parking lot. A close female friend was abducted from their parking lot and assaulted.

  • Franklin B.

It is what it is and as sports bars go this one is great. A bit smokey, lots of televisions, not so crazy loud so you can talk without yelling. Excellent wings, great service.

  • Kelly L.

We went here the other night after seeing them on Scoutmob and weren't expecting much. Well, I will definitely return again! The wings were outstanding! I'm very picky about my wings because I've had the very best in the world at Fast Eddie's in Canton. I'm happy to say that I can also have amazing wings right in Alpharetta, GA! The rest of our food was superb and the service was top notch. If you're pregnant or going with kids, sit at their outside patio, though, because the inside does allow smoking. Other than that, great food and service, I was very pleased. We sat on the patio and really enjoyed it.

I am so upset I even have to update this review, but after several horrible experiences I just feel like I have to do it. Since TJ's rolled out their new menu last month, it's been nothing but trouble. It seems like their waitstaff is constantly new, and they don't know what they are doing. The kitchen is slow, even when it's not busy, and the management is at an all time low and doesn't even care about the customers. I would come here every week for Friday night trivia, and now I will not go back. I have tried to speak with management about issues while there (like waiting 55 minutes for a plain HOUSE SALAD), and they don't care. With that kind of attitude they are going to lose customers and business. Good riddance.

Disgusting. I do not know how they meet the health code. Smoking inside and it's carpeted..? It smelled awful

  • Annie L.

Maybe some people would enjoy this atmosphere, but I'm not one of them. Our server was sweet, but that's the only perk of this place. Typical sports bar...television screens posted everywhere and 2 pool tables situated in the back. Negative part? SMOKE EVERYWHERE. Heck, the waitress (not ours thankfully) was taking her smoke break right next to our table. Gross. Will steer clear from secondhand smoke and NOT go here anymore. But, if you're a fan of this type of environment then by all means. Draft beer is about $5.50 for a newcastle and $5.75 for a blue moon.

    (2)
  • Teri S.

This place sucks! maybe I am too picky but what bar does not have Bud Light on draft, WTF! The bathrooms are old and dank and need some major improvement and if you are not a regular forget about good service. This place has been open for many years but I do not see how.

    (1)
  • Jerry C.

Great neighborhood bar with above average food! I have found the service to be friendly but not efficient! Some people are put off by the smoke. They have a nonsmoking section but it is one big room- kind of like having a non-peeing section in a pool. Thursday night bingo is incredibly annoying! The announcer is loud and goes on forever making it hard to have a conversation. And the whole idea is so lame that they try to jazz it up by changing the number pattern to qualify as a bingo! Good beer selection on tap!

    (4)
  • Kevin S.

Gross. Not sure how they get away with allowing smoking but is is gross. If you are not a regular the staff does not care about you. Go to Taco Mac or Hooligans. The food and service is much better and you can enjoy your meal without some rude regular smoking right next to you..

    (1)
  • Yo K.

I got sampler (wings, potato skins, c. fingers) and a steak. Potato skins and chicken fingers are ok, the steak is a cheap quality steak, the wings are good, taste the same as the "23 wings and grill" of the Buford hwy and "I Love Wings" of the Old Norcross rd, Lawrenceville. I went there on Friday night around 11pm and none at the host table, so we just chose any table. this place is very very smokey and almost no waiters around, there are 3 waiters that come and go from our table -not organized-, they're nice but I prefer not to wait 10 minutes just to get my bill, and no body in the front register since we came. Didn't know how long my food stayed in the kitchen before they 're brought to my table. Will I come back? most likely not.

    (2)
  • Rodney C.

I have been a patron at TJ's for nearly 20 years. TJ's was a great neighborhood sports bar/grill off of Holcomb Bridge in Roswell. The food had always been better than most bars. The potato skins are awesome. The interior is kind of dated and needs to be refreshed. They really need to do some work on the inside. The bathrooms are disgusting. Flush with your foot disgusting.

  • John M.

Never again. Food may have been good but the place reeked of smoke so bad, I couldn't tell. It smelled so nasty I can't believe even the smokers eat here. Yuk

Bartenders are awesome (pretty hot too) Food, especially the burgers are delicious. I dont know what the season that shit with but I bet it isnt legal Beer is kind of expensive Trivia is hard as hell And you smell like an ashtray when you leave

This is a bar, not a restaurant. That's a compliment. The only place to watch the Packers in Atlanta. A very good burger (certified angus beef), a good bacon wrapped angus sirloin, and some of the best bar nachos around. Drinks are free poured and potent. 420 and Guinness on draft. Smokey in the bar and pool areas.

  • Elizabeth S.

I went on a Sunday to watch the Packers game. It's a Packers bar so it was super crowded and super fun! Everyone touchdown there was a celebration. There was no smoking allowed so I found it to be comfortable. The tv set up is not the best. The tv's are up high and can be hard to see. There arent as many tv's as a taco mac or hudson grille so it can be harder to get your games on tv's you can see. If you are there for the Packers game only then that shouldnt be an issue. Prices are great. Yuengling pitcher- 8.95. 20 wings around $15. I had a groupon so that made it an even better deal! And the buffalo wings were pretty good, decent size and flavor. The waitress even brought by a sample or buffalo sauce when I ordered so I could decide if I wanted hot or medium. Good Service. Good Food. Good Prices. Wish it were closer to the city...but I will definitely be back!

I used to go to TJs quite a bit, in spite of the cigarette smoke and stale smell. Food and service have been going downhill, and what may be my last night there was no exception. The food was mediocre at best. I had the fish tacos, which were three tortillas full of some glop that was barely identifiable as fish. I can take bad bar food, but service is another matter. The bar service was the worst it's ever been. The two bartenders were much more interested in flirting with the men at the other end of the bar, who may have been regulars, than they were in serving their customers. I had to wave at them every time I needed something, including my check. You'd think bartenders would be a little more interested in at least keeping the drink glasses full, if for nothing else but to jack up the bill and their tips. However, this bar team couldn't have cared less about anything other than checking themselves out in the bar mirror every time they passed by it. And no, the place wasn't busy - the bar was pretty full, but there were only a handful of customers in the main dining area. Indifferent, contemptuous servers - i think not. I can get that anywhere in Atlanta, minus the disgusting cigarette smell. I won't be going back to TJs for awhile - used to be a pretty fun place, but it's not worth the rotten service.

This is pretty much your standard dive bar, but in a good way. I was just in there yesterday watching the braves game. I drank about 5 beers and split a plate of fish tacos and my tab was $33 with tip. Not too bad. I probably wouldnt order them in the future, but it wasnt my selection to begin with. The bartender was very attentive and I never even had to think about asking for a refill. If you're watching a game, they have a nice big screen behind the bar and another in the dining area. Smaller screens all around showing the other games. They dig the braves during the baseball season, but switch over to the Packers for NFL. We just played a bit of pool and watched the game. The only thing I hate about playing pool in a bar are the douche bags that hover around the table judging your shots. We were just playing for fun and weren't being competetive. This guy yesterday was like "Give me that, I'll show you how to make that". Give me a break. But you find those guys at every bar. The thing I liked (a lot of others may not) is that you can smoke in this bar. As a smoker, it's great being able to down your pint while having a cigarette and playing a game of pool. My buddy's wife wont even come in the place because smoke bothers her. So keep that in mind if you're deciding to drink/eat here. Dont drink in there if you're going to act like a pussy. The last time I was in it was during trivia. Which seemed pretty cool. The questions werent too hard and they give your team cash money if you win. We just ate and had a beer, I got the patty melt which was actually very good. I'll definitely come back to watch a braves game and have a few beers. This is a good spot for just that.

Don't bother. Really can't write a review because sat at the bar for ten minutes and not an employee insight. So left.

Smokey bar with lots of room to move. It's an okay place to go after work, or before a movie. I've been there for football games and happy hour after work. The service is okay, but they don't necessarily pride themselves on customer service. The food is also, okay, it's bar food. Not good or bad, just regular bar food. The last time I was there for dinner we had a large group and sat in the back and had a very friendly waitress that we hardly ever saw. Drinks were empty and it took a while to get our check. An older man (manager/sowner?) kept coming in to say hi, and took drink orders, but they were usually come not exactly as we had ordered them. Nothing to keep us away, but nothing to write home about.

Ah, second-hand smoke. I got my share of it Saturday night. It reminds me of the days before indoor smoking bans. Oh, wait. I thought bars couldn't allow smoking indoors now. wtf? Somehow TJ's lets you smoke inside. If that bothers you, be warned. Or maybe you have a penchant for cancer sticks and this kind of thing appeals to you. Nevertheless, TJ's has more smoke than a Las Vegas casino. I took a buddy here for poker night over the weekend. They have a pretty big game. Had a good time. I'll spare you my bad beat story. Overall TJ's is a cool sports bar. It is pretty big inside, tons of TVs, a few pool tables and other games. I like how they managed bar tabs. You get a sticker with your name and number to wear on your shirt. Any employee can hook you up with another round just by looking at your number. It is easy, and dangerous. The drinks flowed. I didn't try any food, so I can't comment there. The atmosphere is fun, considering the location in the burbs. The smoke is a pain, but I'd still come back.

"The long and winding road..." I've been coming to TJ's since I was in high school. Me and an ever shifting pack of 4-12 kids would roll up on Wednesday night, with the music still blaring out of my '94 Cougar (the Wednesday night line-up on Album 88 was legendary in the early 00's). We'd come in, take over one of the long tables, flex our SAT scores and generally we'd win 3rd place or something. Eventually our underage presence was not so welcome, we stopped coming, and I hurled innumerable invective at TJ's management. I came back a year ago and found it to be the most depressing bar in the world. Radio stuck on 90's power/rock/ballads and the clientele and staff as glazed over as a Krispy Kreme. How often do you say to yourself, "Uh, we should have gone to The Derby," yeah it was that bad. Round comes last night, we crew'd up to TJs as some friends have moved into the apartments around there. The restaurant's not really moving, but the bar area is pretty hoppin and it's thirsty thursday after all. Me n the boys have a good old time. Since when did they start drinking so many Jager bombs? Sice when did TJ's stay open til 2:30 (or later, that's when I left)? Why is this girl talking to me about my sweater? A shot of whisky is pricey at $5.45, and a 9 dollar pitcher isn't that cool either. A friendly staff and patrons who are ripe for under-the-radar social experiments on just keep me coming back though. DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE.

Been coming here since i was 6 with my dad. Love all of the staff. If you want good value go for the tj fries huge helping of fries layered in cheese and bacon served with some yummy ranch dressing. Cant say enough about how much i love this place.

  • Matt T.

The food is actually good. Gasp. It has the look of wanna be dive bar in the burbs, but I see alot of different people eating here, and generally the bar area is always full. They have a few pool tables, and some games like Golden Tee and such. Very large dining room area, so I can imagine this place is outrageously loud come game time, especially Packers, cause they claim to be the home of the Packers here. Alot of tvs, but be prepared, cause the servers will take their time, causing dinner to run longer then you want to be it. I also know the cops love this place. Be careful.

Being that I just moved to Georgia this past March and am a die-hard Packer fan, I've been asking around to see if anyone knew of any good places to catch a Packer game. A client recommended I check out TJ's and being that I live in Sandy Springs, this place is only 20 min OTP off of 400. My first visit to TJ's was today and I was quite impressed. I got there about 15 min before kickoff and the place was fairly crowed with fellow cheeseheads. There were a lot of TV's and the place is pretty big. When the Packers score, they play the Wisconsin Badgers fight song and the crowd joins in the chanting. Mixed drinks are $6.25, draft beer $4. I ordered the nachos and they brought me this heaping plateful of food. They serve typical bar food - salads, wraps, burgers, and a wide selection of appetizers. The waitress was friendly and stopped by to check on us often. Although nothing compares to watching a game back home in Green Bay, this is probably the next best thing. I will definitely be back again for the next Packer game!

Food was forgettable, place was very crowded for trivia and the waitress was overworked and was absent for long, long periods because she had too many tables to take care of. I never got a refill on my drink and I almost couldn't find her to pay when I wanted to leave

I have had good and bad experiences here. The first time I went, I thought it was a pretty cool chill place. The second time I had a server that legally should be required to wear a helmet. We never saw her and when we did and asked her a question, she would just stare at us. I asked for the bill to be split three ways and she said she wasn't sure she could do it with the Two for Tuesday special. Ok.... what is the Two for Tuesday deal? It was never told to us at any time! So I told her whatever was easiest. She brings me back the bill, unsplit, and points out to me she could take off one of our entrees for the Two for Tuesday deal if I want. Ok... What the F*** is the Two for Tuesay deal and why didn't you go ahead and take it off? Why would I want to pay an extra $8? She finally explains the deal and every other deal they have every day of the week. Please god. Just take the $8 off so I can leave! The food was okay. You can't really mess up a burger but apparently you can mess up a chicken sandwich. The chicken was DRY and puny and the bread they served it was on was a pathetic thin Foccacia. We had some kind of blue cheese chips appetizer which would have been better without the 5 lbs of scallions (good thing my hunny was out of town that night or I might have tear gassed him to death with my breath!). It had a weird old grease taste to it. I think they needed to change out their fryer oil. Overall, i would probably go back to have drinks before a movie but I think I'll skip the food and just sit at the bar!

Wonderful service but the place needs updating badly. Also if you are a non-smoker you'll want to be aware smoking is permitted inside.

If you like Sports and live on the Northside, I'd be hard-pressed to recommend someplace more than I would this place. TJ's has dozens of TVs all with various games playing, plus two very large screens for the major games of the day. Trivia is definitely a big thing here, they have games on Wednesday and Friday nights at 830 which draw bigger crowds than I have seen anywhere else I've played Trivia (and that's a lot of places) They also have a Texas Hold'em night. The food is fairly decent, not great, but as far as bar food goes, its above average. TJ's stays open till 4am, though I have never stayed after trivia lets out around 11, so can't comment on the late-late night scene there.

Staff is great. Food is consistent and pretty good - but a little overpriced. Stay away from the owner's wife and don't ask about getting your team's game on the big screen - even if the place is empty. Beeee atch. Unless you've got a group commited to the "privilege" of having a place to meet (Packers, FSU...?) don't bother stopping by on a football Saturday nor Sunday. There are plenty of better / cheaper / friendlier places to watch the sports YOU want to see.

Excellent as a sports bar. Burger is much better than average but there is no void. Wings decent. Rest of the menu is okay for a sports bar. Beer selection is typical sports bar. All in all, great place to watch a lot of games and drink beer. Good, but not great sports bar food.

My first time at TJ's was at the recommendation of a friend who told me that it was one of my only non-Waffle House options for late night food while visiting him in the suburbs. While the food was a step up from Waffle House, the scene felt pretty similar: lots of folks downing the last beers of a late night or trying to offset how many they'd already had with some wings and fries. I've been back to TJ's a few times since then to play trivia or watch a football game. The place has tons of TV's, and the crowd gets pretty into whatever the big game of the day happens to be. Trivia draws a good crowd, if you want a competitive game with lots of teams, TJ's ranks up there with Frankie's at the Prado with me. TJ's draws a lot of locals...which makes sense in that it's way the heck out OTP. Not a lot of in-towners are going to make the trek to Alpharetta to watch a game, which is why my visits are pretty sporadic at best. However, TJ's is definitely worth a stop if you want to catch some sports in a comfortable environment and you're going to be in the 'burbs.

I am not a fan of smokey places, but when I go for lunch, it is pretty clear. Staff is very nice and food is always fresh. The fried green beans are the best!!!!! Much better than the Derby on Nesbitt Ferry!!!!

I've been to this place a few times over the years and liked it. It was always the last stop of the night when all the other places were closed, but they aren't open until 4 am anymore. It's a really fun place to watch football just as long as you want to watch a green bay game. I returned last night after not having been in awhile and i must say, I was impressed. They were out of quite a few liquors, but I'm a bartender and understand that this happens from time to time. My friend and I ordered the toasted ravioli, which was delicious. The best toasted ravioli I have had, nice and toasty without being tough and very cheesy. My friend ordered the portobello mushroom sandwich with fries and it was awesome. Very flavorful without overwhelming the mushroom. I ordered the bacon wrapped sirloin with loaded baker and fried green beans. It was surprisingly good. I couldn't eat all of it because you def get your $16 bucks work out of that plate. The steak was perfectly cooked and had an awesome char on the outside. The bartenders were nice and even switched the game to the tv we could see better. To top it all off, we got a discount for "being in the bizz" as it said on our receipt. Can't beat that!

The owners are terrible!! I hosted my husband's 40th birthday party there recently. During the party, the female owner Susan decided to eat off our buffet (that I paid for!) and stuck her finger in the left over cake to taste the icing. My husband approached her to see who she was and why she was eating our food. She would never apologize proclaiming she was the owner. Then she said "I only ate some of the celery so what's the big deal!?" The male owner Tim said "she was just taste testing the food". We were amazed....Our servers were very apologetic and they did a great job. The restaurant needs a MAJOR remodel. I went there 10 years ago and it has not changed at all. The air is rank from old carpet, old upholstery and cigarette smoke. I do not recommend this place for anyone.
