In the category of food court restaurants, Kelly's Cajun Grill is pretty decent. Very good, in fact. I've had the bourbon chicken (another location) and the blackened chicken here. Cajun it's not, though. More like Chinese with a Louisiana influence. Chicken is well cut - not grisly - and tasty enough. Green beans are still a little crisp and not drenched in oil, as with some other places. Jambalaya fried rice is basically just fried rice, nothing jambalaya about it that I could discern. Still, it's good. Bottled hot sauce is not so good - too wimpy and too sweet. This is a 'Cajun' restaurant - where's the Tabasco? Being a food court and being in suburban America, you get a ton of food. I usually don't eat all of it - shopping or browsing with a too full stomach doesn't work for me.

One star because there are better choices at the North Point Mall food court - Farmers Basket, Sarku Japanese, Chick Fil-A, etc. The food is mediocre as the veges looked as though they had been sitting out all day and it was only lunchtime (green beans were shriveled). They pile on the sauce so it's tasty, maybe too sweet. It's more Asian food than Cajun. I definitely wouldn't order the fish as the food sits out for a while and turnover is low. Staff doesn't speak very good English (you'll be better off if you speak Spanish or Chinese). Miscommunication caused a mistake with my order at $7+. That's the avg price.

My choice of lunch/dinner - right after Chickfila, of course. I'm pretty sure I've eaten at this place ever since it was around. Strangely, it's almost a tradition for my family, as I've liked it since I was a kid. My favorite is and always has been the jambalaya rice + green string beans + bourbon chicken. Can't go wrong with bourbon chicken. Make sure you get hot sauce too!

I begrudgingly have to admit it was a decent meal. I'm normally disappointed by food court offerings, but the blackened chicken wasn't served with a thick goopy sauce and actually had an excellent flavor. The jambalaya rice was also nice and spicy, though it was more of a flavorless heat. It's ridiculous to even pretend that it's even remotely Cajun (come on, a "Canjun" roll? It's a Chinese eggroll, people), but if you avoid the dishes drowning in glop, you can get a tasty meal at a great price. Be sure and try the free samples to find the winners.
